Today on The Morning Mosh Pit, we’re talking about the LSD bridge, and yes, Chicago already knows that phrase sounds like it could go in ten different directions.

Five Things gets you caught up on what everybody is talking about. Fun to the Head brings the trivia pressure, because nothing wakes you up like trying to think while the whole room is judging you.

Then it’s Thirstday, and we’re getting into the signs that you actually have your life together. Not millionaire life together. Real life together. Laundry done, bills paid, fridge has food, phone charged, and you know where your keys are.

Plus, every Thursday we’ve got a special co-host in studio, comedian Pat McGann. So expect quick jokes, Chicago timing, and somebody saying what everybody else was already thinking.

LSD bridge talk, trivia chaos, Thirstday energy, and grown-up life checks.

Speaker 1 (00:02):
I'm a loser, baby. You sure are a loser. I
don't want to be a loser. Okay, well, you really,
all right.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
My brain believes what it hears. Thank you for.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
Admitting it, Maria.

Speaker 3 (00:17):
Really could have joined me on that moment, but that's fine.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
I'm a winner, baby.

Speaker 1 (00:20):
No, you're not.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
You haven't made a bet in a week. That's true.
I know, goddammit. Good morning.

Speaker 3 (00:28):
It's the morning mosh pit on Rock 95.5. My name
is Maria Palmer.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
I'm Maris.

Speaker 3 (00:33):
I'm Michael.

Speaker 1 (00:33):
Happy Thursday.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
Last one of the year. Thursday night football starts next week.

Speaker 4 (00:40):
I've been talking with Raj. He's real excited about... The
NFL season getting started here.

Speaker 3 (00:47):
I don't care what you do with your nights, and
that can live there on your nights, but this is
the morning mosh pit, and in the morning, it's Thursday.

Speaker 2 (00:53):
It's kind of a big deal. Very big deal.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
Yeah, Thursday is a big deal.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
Two very big deals fighting for... life there mine is
always oh man i i can't do it now because
it's too good to i gotta say it i would
it'd be so fun to draft a fake cease and
desist and send it to maria so she can't say
thursday i know but it's such a good idea but
it was too fun i had to say it what

(01:17):
maybe you'll get one maria and just pretend I get excited.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
I don't think that you could pull off the legalese.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
Oh, you know what?

Speaker 1 (01:25):
I guess even your buddy, Chet, could figure it out.

Speaker 2 (01:28):
He has several friends to do that with. Like on Thursdays,
you get required to say Thursday. You ever met the
kid that couldn't keep a secret? Yeah, that's me, dude.
That's me.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
Can you tell us the weather?

Speaker 2 (01:40):
I can. I got it. Michael's obsession with clouds cannot
be overstated.

Speaker 3 (01:44):
It went up to the cloud.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
And you can't get it down from the clouds? Nobody
understands the cloud. It's a mystery. Here's weather.

Speaker 4 (01:50):
Thank you.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
If you were hot yesterday, take off more clothes for today. Okay.

Speaker 1 (01:56):
Say no more.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
It is going to be hot. We actually are under
an extreme heat warning today. No advisories. We are warned
about it. Yesterday, did you see the bridge buckle in yesterday? Yeah,
we're going to talk about that next. Crazy. Yeah, we'll
get into that. Let's see here. High around 95 today.
Heat index about 102. Mostly sunny this morning. 40% chance

(02:17):
of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m. So maybe the...
The storms blowing in will help that humidity a little bit.
Did you say what? 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms
after 1 p.m. Oh, you think it's going to help
the humidity?

Speaker 4 (02:29):
Well, sometimes storms will blow the humidity out a little bit.
You ever accidentally drank two glasses of water by breathing?

Speaker 2 (02:35):
That's true. I felt that yesterday. It felt like we
were in the swamp. So, yeah, going to be another hot, humid,
and sunny day. Indeed.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
All the fairytale creatures will also be moving in.

Speaker 2 (02:46):
Seriously.

Speaker 4 (02:48):
Lakeshore Drive, this bridge over here, having a struggle bus.

Speaker 2 (02:52):
Southbound lanes right now on the upper deck are closed
right now for a crash.

Speaker 4 (02:56):
And then yesterday was completely wild. We'll update you on
all of those things next. Yesterday, we learned that there
are more than a few bands that actually hate Green Day.
That's all for personal reasons for being.

Speaker 2 (03:09):
Out on tour. Not anything like musically. Exactly. Yeah, I
got that story coming up in Rock News today. Oh,
an update. Yes, sir. Okay, I love that.

Speaker 1 (03:18):
I like an update.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 4 (03:20):
Update to the update. Did you see what happened to
the Lakeshore Drive bridge yesterday?

Speaker 2 (03:26):
So I live down there, and I glance out my
window and notice the entire highway is stopped, which is crazy.
I would have been so mad. And then there's all
these people just standing there kind of just... A lot
of men in construction outfits just staring at the edge
of this bridge, kind of confused looks on their faces.

Speaker 1 (03:44):
It was fitting before. It's not fitting now.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
It's not fitting now.

Speaker 4 (03:48):
I think the big moment was when the fire boat
was spraying the bridge down.

Speaker 2 (03:52):
That was wild. And everybody's like, what the hell is happening?

Speaker 1 (03:55):
Put some ice on it.

Speaker 3 (03:56):
Literally.

Speaker 4 (03:58):
The bridge was let up to let a yacht through.
The Spirit of Chicago, a dining and entertainment yacht.

Speaker 2 (04:05):
Was making its way through.

Speaker 4 (04:06):
So it's not a typical time frame for the bridge
to go up, but they did let it up. What
they didn't account for was the weather yesterday, just messing
everything up. And the bridge expanded in a way or
somehow wasn't going to fit properly once it was coming
back down. So they had to shut her down. Maria,
why are you smiling?

Speaker 3 (04:26):
Sometimes when it's really hot, you're up and you're enlarged.

Speaker 2 (04:32):
That's true. That's very true. Hard to come down.

Speaker 4 (04:35):
So to help try to get the bridge to cool down,
they brought out one of the fireboats and it was
just spray.

Speaker 2 (04:41):
Just pumping water right out of the river.

Speaker 4 (04:44):
Both sides of Lakeshore Drive completely shut down at that bridge.

Speaker 2 (04:49):
And I feel bad for anybody that got caught in that.

Speaker 1 (04:51):
Yeah, that is gnarly.

Speaker 4 (04:53):
And I always, like, it's a nightmare for me to
be in that situation because I got a tiny bladder. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
You know. Well, you pee right off the bridge. I've
done it. Oh, no.

Speaker 4 (05:04):
Oh, if I'm in that kind of traffic, I'm opening
both doors and then I'm apologizing to the person next
to me.

Speaker 2 (05:10):
I'm like, I got to go.

Speaker 1 (05:12):
And both doors is the move. You got to have
your blockage.

Speaker 2 (05:15):
Yes, you do. Well, they started turning them around. I've
never seen them do that before. So what do they do?
Start backing people up enough room to turn the other cars?

Speaker 4 (05:22):
There's a certain spot where you can, on both sides,
where there's an exit ramp. You can kind of funnel
people to the exit ramp. And once you kind of
get that clear... Hopefully they could just start getting people
backed up so you can do that, which is a
whole other to do in the midst of all that. But, yeah,
it is said that there was a shutdown basically from
10 a.m. to two thirty yesterday.

Speaker 2 (05:43):
Yeah, it was a long time.

Speaker 4 (05:44):
And it wasn't just the cars. It was also the
bikes and pedestrians as well. And then this morning there
was a wrong way crash on the exact same bridge.
police investigations going on. We don't have all of the
information right now.

Speaker 2 (05:59):
Yeah, if you're out there, if you're on Lakeshore Drive
and you're listening, send us a text or call us
and let us know if the southbound lanes are open.
Because when I left home, they were closed. And when
I got in here, then I saw it on the news,
they were still closed. But now I can't find the
story about it.

Speaker 4 (06:13):
I'm imagining that's a pretty quick cleanup, but I'm thinking
that they're still closed, although we're looking.

Speaker 2 (06:17):
At the traffic. Yeah, traffic just popped up on the screen.
It doesn't say it's closed, so maybe it's back open.

Speaker 1 (06:23):
This is why I always just burn my bridges. Don't
worry about it.

Speaker 2 (06:28):
Light it on fire as you're running across. Can't go back.

Speaker 1 (06:30):
If you can't cross them when you get to them,
you might as well burn them down.

Speaker 2 (06:34):
Well, that's fair. Hopefully we will have no bridge problems today. Hopefully.
Fingers crossed. Fingers crossed.

Speaker 4 (06:40):
Five Things is on the way next, and I've got
a bevy of stories that are going.

Speaker 2 (06:43):
To keep you interested. Because it's chaos season. I don't
know what's happening, but it is crazy everywhere right now.

Speaker 1 (06:49):
A bevy?

Speaker 2 (06:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (06:51):
Very good for Thursday.

Speaker 2 (06:52):
Oh, you're welcome.

Speaker 1 (06:53):
Have a good Thursday, Bebby.

Speaker 5 (06:56):
Five-ish things you almost certainly need to know.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
It's a hell of a community service. I'll tell you
that much.

Speaker 1 (07:03):
Things.

Speaker 4 (07:05):
Kicking things off with Domino's doing a very interesting marketing campaign.
They want you to try their competitors food for a
free pizza. They're going to give away a million dollars
worth of free pizza. If you send them a receipt
with you enjoying a Big Mac, a Whopper, a Crunchwrap Supreme,
Chick-fil-A or Chipotle burrito. It just has to be a

(07:26):
competitor fast food variety. And then they'll send you a
code for a free pizza. Domino's Pizza. The promotion is
designed to see whether the new pizza can hold its
own against other fast foods, most iconic menu items.

Speaker 2 (07:40):
Which, hey, you're welcome. All right. Sure. Yeah, you got it.

Speaker 4 (07:45):
Do you guys know about this state park in Arkansas
where you can find diamonds?

Speaker 2 (07:55):
Yeah, I've heard of it.

Speaker 4 (07:56):
A gentleman by the name of Barry found the third
largest diamond of this year, 2.29 carat yellow diamond.

Speaker 2 (08:03):
It is the.

Speaker 4 (08:04):
Size of a pea, but it is the third largest
that was discovered this year.

Speaker 2 (08:08):
And he's just excited that he has a new piece
of jewelry to work through here.

Speaker 1 (08:13):
That's awesome.

Speaker 2 (08:14):
I would be like, in my spare time, I would
just be hanging out over there trying to find diamonds
all the time. That'd be awesome. I wonder what the
strategy is on that one.

Speaker 1 (08:22):
If it's not being pulled out of a mind by
a small child, then I don't want it. I'm totally lying.
I'm being sarcastic. Please don't cancel me, Jesus Christ. You
can hear them in labs.

Speaker 4 (08:33):
New Jersey Walmart had to be evacuated because of a
hazmat situation where 19 people were taken to the hospital.
They were evacuated because they were coughing and suffering from
irritation in general. They never revealed what the actual irritant was,
but everybody has recovered from their injuries.

Speaker 2 (08:52):
Nothing serious went down. I'm coughing.

Speaker 4 (08:54):
A DoorDash driver was caught on camera delivering food naked.

Speaker 2 (08:58):
Awesome.

Speaker 4 (08:59):
This was immediately reported to, no, it wasn't that kind
of delivery, Maria.

Speaker 2 (09:03):
Could be.

Speaker 4 (09:05):
The gentleman who was receiving the food was very upset
because his daughter was at home. So DoorDash has refunded
him and fired the gentleman who didn't have any clothes
to wear for work.

Speaker 2 (09:17):
What a great marketing idea. This gives me an idea.
I got an idea, too. You first.

Speaker 3 (09:21):
Can we get Tinder and DoorDash to have some version
of partnership?

Speaker 2 (09:27):
Listen, I agree with her. I'm in, too. I think
that's called prostitution. No, this is called friendship.

Speaker 1 (09:34):
I'm not paying for them.

Speaker 2 (09:36):
You're paying for the food.

Speaker 1 (09:38):
I'm not paying for anything. They're paying for it.

Speaker 2 (09:40):
So what are you paying for, Maria?

Speaker 1 (09:42):
I'm paying for the delivery service of the man.

Speaker 2 (09:45):
To do what?

Speaker 1 (09:45):
Bring him to my house.

Speaker 2 (09:47):
To do what? In a way. To do what?

Speaker 1 (09:49):
Whatever we see fit.

Speaker 2 (09:50):
So obviously he tips you. All right, let's get to
this fifth thing here.

Speaker 1 (09:54):
At least the tip.

Speaker 2 (09:55):
Just the tip. We don't have a fifth thing anymore.
Don't say that. We don't. What was it? Prison sentence.

Speaker 4 (10:02):
Oh, he delivered a bunch of pizzas to somebody's address.
And it was on that pizza delivery system where they
have to pay when the food arrives.

Speaker 2 (10:08):
He sent 300 pizzas to somebody's house. That is $ 10, 000.

Speaker 1 (10:12):
Great.

Speaker 2 (10:13):
$ 10, 000.

Speaker 1 (10:13):
Back to Tinder and Uber partnering for my needs.

Speaker 2 (10:15):
This is a business idea. I like it.

Speaker 1 (10:17):
I think so, too. Bring me the band.

Speaker 5 (10:21):
And now, fun to the head on Rock 95.5.

Speaker 2 (10:26):
Yeah, don't worry. They're using Nerf weapons. Are we speaking
with Jeff from South Elgin?

Speaker 5 (10:31):
You are.

Speaker 2 (10:32):
What up, Jeff? How we doing this Thursday? You got
a window down, Jeff? I am slowly but surely working
my way towards vacation. Oh, I understand that feeling. I
love that. Where are you headed? Northern Wisconsin, get some
lines in the water.

Speaker 1 (10:50):
Ooh, a little fishing trip.

Speaker 4 (10:52):
I like that a lot. Well, Jeff, thank you for
joining us in Fun to the Head this morning. This
is the fun trivia game where you answer questions, we
get shot with Nerf darts, and you can take one
of us hostage to provide you a save. And that
is your first decision you've got to make this morning.
Do you want to take Michael, myself, or Maria hostage?

Speaker 2 (11:12):
We gotta take Maria.

Speaker 1 (11:13):
Yeah, I mean, we don't gotta, but okay. Keep me safe, though.

Speaker 2 (11:17):
We gotta.

Speaker 3 (11:18):
Keep me safe. If you don't know an answer, use
the save.

Speaker 1 (11:23):
Don't just let me take the shot.

Speaker 2 (11:24):
You ready, Michael? I gotta try to read.

Speaker 1 (11:26):
Let's do this.

Speaker 4 (11:27):
Come on.

Speaker 2 (11:28):
I hope it goes better than yesterday.

Speaker 1 (11:30):
I thought we were friends.

Speaker 2 (11:32):
All right, question one. What is the scientific term for
an animal without a backbone? Invertebrate.

Speaker 1 (11:43):
One for one.

Speaker 2 (11:43):
There you go. I see what you did there. Question two.
Question number two. Before launching his solo career, Rob Zombie
fronted what rock band? Oh, White Zombie. Nice. Jeff is

(12:04):
crushing it. There you go, Jeff. Give me a second
on that one. I was like, thinking it was a reverse.

Speaker 3 (12:08):
I'm like, what the hell did he do?

Speaker 2 (12:11):
You got it. One more, and you still got your save.
I love him.

Speaker 1 (12:17):
Starting a White Zombie cover band called Caucasian Mummy.

Speaker 3 (12:22):
Ow.

Speaker 2 (12:22):
Oh, wow. Shot in the chest. All right. In football... Oh,
it's here, man. In football, what is the term for
taking down the quarterback behind the line of scrimmage? I'm
going to go with Zach. A huge one.

Speaker 1 (12:40):
A huge winner.

Speaker 2 (12:41):
Dave wins with his Zach. Can you still shoot Maria, though?
I did shoot Maria. I appreciate it. Jeff! Jeff, what
did I do?

Speaker 4 (12:52):
Yes, we can oblige.

Speaker 2 (12:55):
Jeff, why do you want me in pain? You seem
to take real pleasure in shooting Michael all the time. Jeff! Jeff!
My man! My brother!

Speaker 1 (13:04):
In defense of Mikey is a wild stance to take.
Let's go, Jeff!

Speaker 4 (13:09):
I was embarrassed, too, but you seem to take a
little bit more glee with Mike.

Speaker 2 (13:14):
It's true. Very noticeable.

Speaker 1 (13:15):
A lot more, but yeah.

Speaker 2 (13:19):
It's not that I blame you. All right, Jeff.

Speaker 3 (13:22):
I understand your want for equality and retribution.

Speaker 2 (13:26):
All right, Jeff. We've got to spin this wheel for you.
It's chaos. Let's see what's left. YouTube chat loves Jeff.

Speaker 4 (13:34):
Jeff, this might be a hidden gem of a concert.

Speaker 2 (13:38):
Stained.

Speaker 3 (13:39):
Oh, yeah.

Speaker 2 (13:39):
Big one.

Speaker 4 (13:40):
The Cycle 25th Anniversary Tour over at Credit Union 1 Amphitheater.

Speaker 2 (13:46):
What is it? Seether. Hinder. Hinder. Theory of a Deadman.
Theory of a Deadman. Who's that other one?

Speaker 1 (13:53):
Hinder, Theory of a Deadman.

Speaker 2 (13:54):
Who else? Hoobastank. Hoobastank.

Speaker 3 (13:55):
We're a professional radio show.

Speaker 2 (13:57):
That's actually a big show.

Speaker 4 (13:59):
That's a very big show. A good one, too, Jeff.
You're all set. Who do you plan on taking with
you for this one?

Speaker 2 (14:06):
I'm actually planning to send my wife with maybe her sister. Oh,
I like Jeff even more.

Speaker 5 (14:12):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (14:13):
Jeff, beautiful. Absolutely glorious.

Speaker 4 (14:17):
Well done, my man. Great decisions were made. Everybody else
head on over to Ticketmaster.com. All thanks to our friends
at Live Nation.

Speaker 2 (14:26):
I got to say. The studio smells nice all of
the sudden.

Speaker 1 (14:30):
Nice and fresh.

Speaker 5 (14:31):
What?

Speaker 2 (14:31):
It's like very flowery. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Very floral. Maria
ran to CBS to get them pits smelling good.

Speaker 1 (14:38):
Morning fresh pit.

Speaker 2 (14:39):
Oh, wow, I'm smelling it. It's wafting over here now. Yeah,
that's a strong one.

Speaker 1 (14:43):
Get in there, baby.

Speaker 2 (14:43):
I'll have to counteract that.

Speaker 1 (14:45):
All them crevices are nice on the Palmer.

Speaker 4 (14:47):
Well, now that you've got yourself deodorized, are you ready
for Thursday?

Speaker 2 (14:51):
Yes.

Speaker 3 (14:52):
Thursday, boy oh boy, do we have some stuff to
talk about.

Speaker 2 (14:56):
Oh my god.

Speaker 3 (14:56):
And I will say, listener.

Speaker 1 (14:58):
Discretion advised in two songs, we will be discussing semen.

Speaker 2 (15:07):
Oh, geez. It's that time, isn't it?

Speaker 1 (15:09):
I am thirsty for my favorite drink. It's Rob 95
by Thursday.

Speaker 2 (15:13):
Oh, boy. What?

Speaker 1 (15:16):
The best way to enjoy Thursday. Correction, please. Is by listening.

Speaker 5 (15:21):
Beautiful.

Speaker 1 (15:21):
Gotta tell you what we think. We got what you
ordered a drink. Oh, my God. Bro-gurt.

Speaker 4 (15:28):
What?

Speaker 3 (15:31):
We're not there yet. First, we got to get to
the story. You may have seen this story circulating online.

Speaker 1 (15:37):
It isn't real.

Speaker 2 (15:38):
It's funny, though. Yeah, it's good.

Speaker 1 (15:40):
For our purposes, we choose to believe it's real.

Speaker 2 (15:44):
Imagination.

Speaker 1 (15:45):
You gotta believe in the magic of life.

Speaker 3 (15:48):
Like that this 27-year-old, allegedly named Agatha Bristol, doesn't.

Speaker 2 (15:52):
Even sound like her real name.

Speaker 3 (15:55):
Was in a sperm bank tossing back shots of brogurt
like it was tequila.

Speaker 2 (16:01):
Oh, wow. She really had a taste for the man
salsa there.

Speaker 1 (16:05):
She really liked the creme brulee.

Speaker 2 (16:07):
Breakfast of champions.

Speaker 1 (16:09):
Oh, no.

Speaker 2 (16:13):
The old protein shake in the morning.

Speaker 3 (16:15):
But you sent this to me, Mikey. You were like, oh,
my God, I can't believe that someone would do this.
And I was like, yeah, I also cannot.

Speaker 1 (16:21):
Believe it either.

Speaker 2 (16:22):
Yeah. Then I looked it up. Yeah. But it was
fun for a minute. It was fun for a minute.
The old pale marmalade.

Speaker 3 (16:29):
I don't think anyone's that into the baby batter that
they would want to take shots of it.

Speaker 2 (16:33):
I'll save that thought.

Speaker 1 (16:35):
What?

Speaker 2 (16:37):
Nope.

Speaker 1 (16:37):
Don't want to talk about man maze?

Speaker 2 (16:39):
No, no, no.

Speaker 4 (16:39):
I just didn't want to out somebody that just is
a furious fan of the white monsters.

Speaker 2 (16:46):
Oh, my God. Oh, my God.

Speaker 3 (16:48):
You know someone who's a furious fan that would want
to take shots like tequila?

Speaker 2 (16:51):
Yeah. That's what they say.

Speaker 1 (16:53):
Are they single?

Speaker 2 (16:57):
Boneless children. By the way, when we originally talked about
this story and for a moment thought it was real,
this is exactly how it went.

Speaker 1 (17:09):
Just a little ejacula.

Speaker 2 (17:12):
Gotta have your pinky up on that one. Cream of peat.

Speaker 1 (17:15):
Oh my god.

Speaker 2 (17:18):
I'm never gonna be able to eat that ever again.
I know.

Speaker 1 (17:21):
No more man ranch for me.

Speaker 2 (17:23):
Fappuccino. Fappuccino. Fappuccino.

Speaker 1 (17:28):
How many more we got? Some crotch guac.

Speaker 2 (17:34):
Lust custard.

Speaker 4 (17:35):
You know what? For the sanity of the people who
might have woken up.

Speaker 2 (17:41):
With children in the car. I'm going to hit the button.

Speaker 1 (17:43):
We don't need to talk about gentlemen's relish.

Speaker 2 (17:45):
Hey, these kids have the internet. Listen, they're smarter than.

Speaker 1 (17:52):
You think. Anyway, 4-4-9-5-5-9-5-50. If you have any of your
favorite drinks you'd like to share, we'd like to hear them.

Speaker 3 (17:59):
Yes.

Speaker 5 (18:01):
Broadcasting from high atop the Hancock. WCHI HD1 Chicago. An
iHeart Radio station. Guaranteed human.

Speaker 2 (18:10):
On Rock 95.5.

Speaker 3 (18:12):
Another glorious day on the morning mosh pit. Happy Thursday, gentlemen.

Speaker 2 (18:17):
Indubitably.

Speaker 3 (18:20):
I have so much to say, but I'll let you start.

Speaker 4 (18:24):
You smell that in the air? Do you smell it?
It's so fragrant and beautiful. I'm not talking about Maria's deodorant.
I'm talking about the U of I playing football tonight
against UAB at home.

Speaker 2 (18:38):
Football is back, baby. Luke Altmyer, the quarterback this year.
Honorary captain tonight is former linebacker Britt Miller.

Speaker 4 (18:49):
So I'm pretty sure Luke Altmyer is playing for the
Lions right now.

Speaker 2 (18:53):
As he was to say here, Luke Altmyer is a
line I quarterback.

Speaker 1 (18:58):
Am I wrong?

Speaker 2 (18:59):
Wait, does he have a brother? Maybe. I don't know.
I just have it in front of me. That's what
it says. Game time, 8 p.m. You sent us the
notes here. Give us a little fact check. Yeah, I
figured that out. I'm going to hit you with some baseball.
How about that? Bad news all the way around yesterday.
The Cubs lost 9-5 to the Brewers at Wrigley. Looks
good early, though, Maris, against Mizroski. I thought they would
do way worse against him. But they ended up actually

(19:22):
just Alex Bregman blasting a home run, smarty eyes. Maria
has her hand up.

Speaker 1 (19:25):
He was cut from the Lions. He is, in fact,
the Illini.

Speaker 2 (19:29):
Wow. He's on the practice squad.

Speaker 1 (19:32):
He got cut.

Speaker 2 (19:35):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (19:35):
He was waived by Lions as part of roster cut down.

Speaker 4 (19:38):
Luke is on the practice squad. But his brother is
the quarterback. We'll figure out who that quarterback is.

Speaker 1 (19:44):
He's currently the quarterback for the Illinois Fighting Illini.

Speaker 2 (19:48):
So can we all admit that the NL Central race
is over? probably? I think that the Cubs are going
to get the wild card and the Brewers are going
to be first place, which is fine. Fine. We've been
kind of riding that all year.

Speaker 1 (19:57):
Again, collapse. Are you fact-checking my fact-check?

Speaker 2 (19:59):
Yeah, because it's not right.

Speaker 1 (20:01):
It literally is.

Speaker 2 (20:02):
Pitching collapse again yesterday in the Cubs game, so we'll
move on from that. Brewers at Wrigley again tonight. First pitch, 6-15.

Speaker 3 (20:09):
Do you think that you have special magic Googling fingers
that you can find search results somehow.

Speaker 1 (20:13):
Better than I can?

Speaker 2 (20:15):
And the White Sox lost two to nothing against the
Astros in Houston last night. Pitchers duel that stayed scoreless
until the eighth. I hate games like that. White Sox
73 and 66 after the loss. They wrap up the
series in Houston tonight. And also tonight, you can watch
Caleb Williams on Hot Ones, by the way. It's going
to be kind of fun.

Speaker 1 (20:33):
Any update over there, bud?

Speaker 2 (20:34):
Hold on. 26 days until the Blackhawks regular season opener.
10 days until the Bears season opener. And 48 days
until the Bulls season opener. October 21st at Toronto. All right,
I'm going to need a second. I'm out of sports,
so no. You're good. Can we do the audio real quick? Oh, yes.
Let's get to this chirping. White Sox yesterday at Houston.

(20:57):
A Houston Astros fan chirping from behind the White Sox dugout.
In my opinion, I love a good chirp. And this
one is just all about what the White Sox pitcher
was wearing. And it's very funny. Let's hit it.

Speaker 1 (21:09):
We have mirrors in Houston.

Speaker 2 (21:11):
We have mirrors in Houston.

Speaker 1 (21:12):
You saw your pants.

Speaker 2 (21:14):
You saw your pants. You saw your cleats. You saw
your cleats.

Speaker 4 (21:17):
And you walked out with that on.

Speaker 1 (21:20):
What are you doing?

Speaker 2 (21:22):
I didn't even think he looked bad. He looked like
everybody else on the team. But the chirping was a
fever pitch out there in Houston. So what do we have?

Speaker 4 (21:30):
Luke got waved by the Lions and he got picked
up by the practice squad. Luke going back to the
Illini would be thoroughly illegal because he's.

Speaker 2 (21:38):
Already been through camp.

Speaker 4 (21:40):
And Big Ten is blocking any players from the NFL
who get waved or cut from going back to the college.

Speaker 2 (21:47):
So interesting. He is on the practice squad. Wow. We
got there. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (21:52):
Get it together, ESPN.

Speaker 3 (21:53):
It only took like six articles of contradictory information and
three people to figure that out.

Speaker 4 (21:59):
I am blown away at what just happened here, but
I'm not surprised. Welcome to the Morning Mosh Pit.

Speaker 3 (22:04):
We love being on the Morning Mosh Pit on Rock 95.5
because you and us, we get to basically.

Speaker 1 (22:09):
Do life together for a little bit every morning. And
isn't that kind of nice?

Speaker 2 (22:13):
Yeah. I love it.

Speaker 1 (22:15):
It's especially nice because you have your life together. We don't.

Speaker 2 (22:18):
We're just talking about that off the air. We're a mess.

Speaker 1 (22:21):
But you do.

Speaker 3 (22:22):
And you want to know how we know? Because I
got signs that you have your life together in 2026.

Speaker 1 (22:26):
Are we ready, boys?

Speaker 3 (22:26):
I'm not looking forward to this at all. And we're
all out immediately being financially responsible. Nope.

Speaker 2 (22:35):
I am struggling with this lately. See something, buy something.
I would have never thought 10 years ago that Uber
would take so much of my money. Just car, drive, car,
the Uber Eats. Like, come on.

Speaker 3 (22:46):
And once they inevitably partner with Tinder to bring me
my men directly to my doorstep, then it's going to
be even more money.

Speaker 2 (22:51):
Maybe they should partner with Uber Eats. Sir.

Speaker 3 (22:55):
Sir.

Speaker 2 (22:56):
You're goddamn right I should. Sir. I'll tip to that.
At least.

Speaker 1 (23:01):
I don't know where the bell is.

Speaker 2 (23:05):
Go ahead, Maria.

Speaker 3 (23:06):
Anyway, they say it's not about being rich, just having
a healthy bank balance and an account that's not overdrawn,
a credit card that you pay off regularly, and emergency
savings to cover at.

Speaker 1 (23:14):
Least three months' salary.

Speaker 3 (23:16):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (23:16):
Three months' salary. I can't save anything.

Speaker 2 (23:20):
Well, it depends on how you live, right? I mean,
the whole thing they always say is like you live
below your means.

Speaker 1 (23:25):
Yeah, well, I live like the spoiled bitch I am,
so I'm not going to say anything. The next is,
and actually, this is new for me.

Speaker 2 (23:32):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (23:33):
Enjoying your own company.

Speaker 2 (23:34):
Oh, duh. I do not do that.

Speaker 1 (23:36):
Being comfortable spending time alone is a sign you're a
mature adult.

Speaker 4 (23:40):
I'm a little brother, and my brother's five years older
than me. I got used to that a long time ago.

Speaker 2 (23:45):
Yeah? Yeah.

Speaker 1 (23:46):
Not me.

Speaker 3 (23:46):
I didn't get used to it until I got divorced,
and now I'm like living by myself. I lived by
myself for a little bit in D.C., but I kind
of didn't feel it.

Speaker 1 (23:54):
It was only for a couple months.

Speaker 4 (23:55):
I've always enjoyed being alone.

Speaker 2 (23:57):
I don't enjoy it. I like being around someone else.

Speaker 3 (24:00):
I got to say, I like it now, but I'm
not enjoying it more than I did being married and.

Speaker 1 (24:06):
Having a partner.

Speaker 2 (24:07):
Right. And I think people are just built different.

Speaker 1 (24:09):
It's also dependent on the partnership.

Speaker 2 (24:11):
Amen, sister.

Speaker 1 (24:15):
Admitting when you're wrong. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (24:17):
Yep.

Speaker 3 (24:18):
Your mistakes and being able to take responsibility when you're
at fault isn't easy, but it is a grown up
green flag.

Speaker 2 (24:25):
Listen, everything is her fault. It's not mine. I do
nothing wrong. I am perfect.

Speaker 3 (24:31):
Right.

Speaker 2 (24:31):
As you know.

Speaker 1 (24:32):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (24:34):
I'll pick those battles.

Speaker 4 (24:35):
And when it's important, like it's like actual, like factual
things that can hurt or, you know, manipulate something.

Speaker 2 (24:42):
I'll let you know. Yeah. Go be stupid. I don't care.

Speaker 1 (24:47):
I'm always just trying to solve the problem. I don't
really care who's right or who's wrong. What are the facts?
What are the stats? What do we got to work
with and how can we fix it?

Speaker 2 (24:53):
That's a good way to look at it, though.

Speaker 1 (24:55):
Not paying for subscriptions you don't use.

Speaker 2 (24:59):
I just showed a bunch off. I'm not going to lie.
I got to go through and do the list again.

Speaker 3 (25:02):
I need to, too, because I've definitely been paying for
HBO Max for years, and I can't remember the last
time I.

Speaker 1 (25:08):
Even opened the app to watch a movie.

Speaker 2 (25:10):
I don't watch movies, really. That peacock's got me.

Speaker 4 (25:13):
When I turned off about $ 100 worth of subscriptions, I was.

Speaker 2 (25:16):
Like, what have you been doing? It was so dumb. Yeah,
and just to nothing, for no reason.

Speaker 3 (25:21):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (25:22):
Being aware of when trash day is.

Speaker 2 (25:25):
We just have a shoot. Tuesday. Chuck it and shoot. Tuesday.

Speaker 4 (25:28):
Tuesday.

Speaker 1 (25:30):
Wednesday or Friday. Thursday's recycling, though. We've got a big
old dumpster.

Speaker 2 (25:34):
I don't care. How many years have you been here?

Speaker 1 (25:35):
Doesn't matter. And then finally, making your bed every day. Well,
all right.

Speaker 3 (25:41):
We're out.

Speaker 2 (25:41):
I'm out.

Speaker 1 (25:42):
Peace out.

Speaker 2 (25:43):
I have never made my bed. There's a hairless cat
in my bed right now. And my girlfriend's there, too.

Speaker 1 (25:51):
There's a hairless cat in my bed when.

Speaker 2 (25:53):
I'm in it. And a hairy cat. Oh, we went there.
Juicy boy. A couple of them.

Speaker 1 (25:59):
We went there twice.

Speaker 2 (26:00):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (26:01):
I wish someone would go there twice.

Speaker 3 (26:03):
Or once.

Speaker 1 (26:04):
Or even make plans to visit.

Speaker 2 (26:06):
I try to go there twice. They always say, I'm sensitive.

Speaker 1 (26:09):
I'm sensitive. Rooster. Still made of organ... No, I'm not
doing that. I'm not doing that.

Speaker 2 (26:17):
Hardly no.

Speaker 1 (26:19):
He did it.

Speaker 3 (26:20):
But a rooster, an animal closer to a human, still
on our side in the inevitable human versus robot war.

Speaker 2 (26:26):
News from the front of the inevitable human robot war.
I bet you like that rooster.

Speaker 3 (26:31):
In California, three novice hikers attempted to climb Mount Shasta,
a volcano that last erupted 3,000 years ago and is
the fifth highest peak in the state. Unfortunately, they were inexperienced.
They had to be rescued by the United States Forest
Service because....

Speaker 1 (26:49):
They relied on bad advice they received using AI.

Speaker 2 (26:51):
Oh, gosh, damn it.

Speaker 3 (26:52):
First, they set up their base camp at what was
deemed a prohibited site. Then they brought enough food for
about an eight-hour climb, which sounds great until you realize
that the trek that started at three in the morning
took 17 hours to reach the summit.

Speaker 2 (27:06):
Yeah, damn.

Speaker 3 (27:07):
That's when they realized they still had to get back down.
They'd veered off course and their phone batteries were dying.
So the call to 911 was placed. After one of
the men succumbed to a knee injury, they realized they'd
bitten off more than they could chew, stopped their descent
at 11,000 feet at around midnight and waited for help
to arrive. Forest Service climbing rangers reached them at 9.30
the next morning and they were led back to camp

(27:28):
at 6.30 that evening upon reflection.

Speaker 2 (27:31):
What was the injury? Does it say? How are they
led back? They carry this guy? I must have.

Speaker 1 (27:35):
A lot of times a helicopter. I've done this before. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (27:38):
Those hikes where you start at three in the morning
and it's like a 20 hour hike to the summit
of the mountain, that stuff can get scary. We start
with headlamps on and there's bears, there's elk, there's moose
out there, there's mountain lions.

Speaker 3 (27:50):
Yeah, which is why you should probably have like an
experienced hiker with you.

Speaker 1 (27:53):
Not just ask AI.

Speaker 4 (27:56):
Or use your AI like it's supposed to be used
as a guide for research so that you can look
into these things and then talk to another human about
about the experience of doing this.

Speaker 3 (28:08):
Yes.

Speaker 4 (28:08):
Because I know these AI love to read blogs and
articles and everything else that's on the internet, but somebody
will absolutely tell you the trials and tribulations that they
went through for those.

Speaker 3 (28:17):
Not to mention like AI very often gets things straight
up wrong. And if you don't have experience as a hiker,
you're not going to know the thing that they got wrong.

Speaker 1 (28:25):
And it could be ludicrously incorrect.

Speaker 2 (28:27):
Did you say it was in a national park? Yeah.
Here's a tip. And this is, if you're going to
go hike in a national park, get a park pass.
Always get a park pass. They're like 30 bucks for
the year. What does the park pass do for you?
Here's the here's what happened. So I had a friend
who was hiking up a 14 or on one side
and there were two faces and she went up to
the top of the first one. They were trying to
get to the second one. Halfway through, she broke her

(28:48):
ankle and had to get helicoptered out. Right. If you
have a park pass, it covers the helicopter. If you don't,
you have to pay for it.

Speaker 1 (28:56):
That's crazy.

Speaker 2 (28:57):
And life flight off of the top of a mountain
in the middle of Colorado is like $ 30, 000. At least, probably.
And she didn't have a parking pass. Medivac anywhere is
hella expensive. Unless, of course, you're that woman that swung
in circles. Did you hear about that? Didn't she have
like a $ 250, 000 settlement? She needed more.

Speaker 3 (29:16):
Hey, medical debt pretty much has no effect on your
credit and you don't really have to pay.

Speaker 1 (29:22):
Just saying.

Speaker 2 (29:23):
Fun fact.

Speaker 1 (29:24):
And that's how we win the human versus robot war.

Speaker 2 (29:26):
This was news from the front of the inevitable human
robot war. If I say El Nino, do you know
what I'm talking about? The boy.

Speaker 1 (29:42):
The boy?

Speaker 2 (29:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (29:45):
No, not quite. This is the weather pattern. I learned
about this only recently. Well, I won't say recently, but
I remember there was a big El Nino winter.

Speaker 2 (29:55):
Oh, it was warm as hell. Oh, it was beautiful.
That's where I get confused. There's El Nino and El Nino.
Which one's the warm one? Which one's the cold one?

Speaker 4 (30:03):
The one I'm looking at right now because the weather
patterns are predicting Chicago can be hit with an El
Nino winter this year. And this is basically when the Pacific, uh, winds, uh,
and water produce such a system that they just give us, uh,
a warmer winter.

Speaker 2 (30:21):
I would love that.

Speaker 1 (30:22):
I would love that.

Speaker 4 (30:23):
Complete paraphrasing of, uh, a meteorological article that I just read.

Speaker 2 (30:29):
Um, meteorological.

Speaker 1 (30:30):
There you go.

Speaker 2 (30:31):
Um, and it's glorious. It, I, you've lived here your
whole life. So have you ever had this? Do you
remember a warm winter? Oh my God.

Speaker 4 (30:39):
Uh, there was one where we were younger and me
and my brother, we just played, um, catch all winter
50 degrees out crisp and cold and it's like you're
still gonna you're gonna you're gonna catch a little snow
and i know we're talking about winter in september shut
up i know what we're doing right.

Speaker 2 (30:52):
Now well i mean christmas is coming halloween thanksgiving is
coming i'm very excited don't do.

Speaker 4 (31:00):
It it's 30 floors i mean if this is if
this is real i think this is chicago saying hey
i'm sorry for all the storms this summer I'm going
to give you a nice little modest winter.

Speaker 3 (31:11):
That's such a sweet, optimistic way to view this giant
weather pattern that is going to absolutely ruin harvests and.

Speaker 1 (31:18):
Supply chains and things of that nature.

Speaker 2 (31:21):
It's fine. Sacrifices will be made.

Speaker 1 (31:23):
Yeah, we've been making a lot of sacrifices.

Speaker 2 (31:25):
As of late. I'll eat some canned goods and PB
& J. I'll be fine. I remember walking to work
last year. It was like negative 14. I'm just like,
I made it, you guys. And it's just, it's so nice.

Speaker 4 (31:36):
It's almost like you miss snow a little bit, but
it's not fully there.

Speaker 1 (31:42):
I would like to go back to Mikey saying that
they walked to work in 14-degree weather. Did you just
say you walked to work? No, you did not.

Speaker 2 (31:50):
I did a couple times, and that's why I took
an Uber after that.

Speaker 1 (31:52):
I don't think that you did. I don't think you
even did it a couple times.

Speaker 2 (31:55):
You know what it was is the time that I
stopped doing it, truly. I came up onto, I guess
it would be Wacker, the St. Regis, that stretch from
the St. Regis down to the bridge there. They hadn't
cleared the ice on that sidewalk, so I was trying
to walk down the sidewalk, and it was a sheet
of ice. And I was like, I'm going to kill myself.
You got to walk like a penguin. I did. But

(32:15):
I'm a tall, I'm a tall, ugly penguin. You got
to walk like a tall penguin. I just sat down
and slid.

Speaker 1 (32:22):
All the way to work.

Speaker 2 (32:22):
I made it safe. No broken bones.

Speaker 4 (32:25):
Yeah, but like just thinking about having a little relief
this winter where it's not as harsh.

Speaker 2 (32:29):
We could still get some snow.

Speaker 4 (32:31):
It just wouldn't be as impactful or as brutal as
it had been. Right now, it's looking like a 50,
a coin, basically a coin flip if we get actual
El Nido. yield this year, which I'm looking forward to.

Speaker 2 (32:41):
Mother Nature, what do you need from us, Mother Nature,
so that we can get this? Let us know. We
want to keep you happy. You've been a little upset
this summer.

Speaker 1 (32:51):
Would you like more greenhouse gases, maybe? Really warm it up?

Speaker 2 (32:55):
Start spraying some hairspray into the atmosphere.

Speaker 1 (32:58):
Start driving those Hummers again.

Speaker 2 (33:01):
Let's go.

Speaker 4 (33:03):
I've seen more Hummers out recently, and I'm just like, okay,
you don't have to flex.

Speaker 2 (33:07):
We know you're rich.

Speaker 1 (33:08):
Hello El Nino.

Speaker 2 (33:10):
Send those hummers my way.

Speaker 3 (33:14):
Those news headlines sure can get you down. Luckily, we
here on the Morning Mosh Pit are going to put
a positive spin on them so you can be both
informed and not exactly suicidal.

Speaker 1 (33:28):
This is Biat News Beers.

Speaker 3 (33:34):
Six-year-old boy died from scurvy despite long-term concerns over diet.

Speaker 1 (33:40):
Queensland coroner finds... How the hell did a six-year-old get scurvy?
I guess life hasn't given him enough lemons.

Speaker 2 (33:48):
That's brutal. That's brutal. My God.

Speaker 3 (33:51):
Two dead and multiple people injured, including police officers, in
mass shooting at downtown Minneapolis apartment building.

Speaker 4 (34:01):
Ah, shoot.

Speaker 2 (34:02):
Oh, I hate you.

Speaker 3 (34:04):
Mexican musician, pregnant wife, child, and nanny killed in grizzly shootings.

Speaker 2 (34:12):
Like the bear had the gun?

Speaker 1 (34:13):
I know, of course. Yeah, let's blame it on the grizzlies, huh?

Speaker 3 (34:17):
Couple arrested after five-year-old nonverbal daughter.

Speaker 1 (34:20):
Is found dead in South Carolina waters.

Speaker 2 (34:23):
Under the jail.

Speaker 1 (34:25):
What are they doing? They sound shallow.

Speaker 2 (34:29):
I hate you. I'm all of it. That's good.

Speaker 1 (34:32):
Just be on noise bears.

Speaker 2 (34:34):
Oh, my gosh.

Speaker 4 (34:35):
Ladies and gentlemen, we have Pat McGann in studio with us.

Speaker 1 (34:39):
Oh, that's good news bears.

Speaker 2 (34:40):
Yes, that's good news because we all need to be
picked up after that one. Yeah. No, we're up. Pat,
always a pleasure to have you in studio, my man.
Great to be here. Thanks for the pickup. That's great.

Speaker 4 (34:51):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (34:51):
Kickoff to the day. Yeah, I read them.

Speaker 5 (34:56):
Broadcasting from high atop the Hancock, WCHI HD1 Chicago, and
iHeart Radio Station, Guaranteed Human on Rock 95.5.

Speaker 3 (35:06):
And we have one of the best of the best
of the Guaranteed Humans in the studio with us right
now on the Morning Mosh Pit, Pat McGann.

Speaker 2 (35:13):
What's up? Good morning. Good to be back here.

Speaker 1 (35:16):
Yeah, fresh off your trip from Cleveland.

Speaker 2 (35:18):
Yes, Cleveland, Ohio. Old 40-minute flight there. What's a comedy
club there? Hilarities. Hilarities. That's funny. What a good name.
Great club. Good show? Yeah, good shows. I was there
all weekend. I went to the Rock and Roll Hall
of Fame. Oh, cool. Yeah, I paid my respects to Dolly.

Speaker 1 (35:36):
I was about to say, did you see Dolly there?

Speaker 2 (35:39):
Yeah, I did.

Speaker 1 (35:40):
My favorite rock star.

Speaker 2 (35:43):
Exactly, right? They're very liberal with that.

Speaker 1 (35:45):
We played her on Rock 95.5, so she counts.

Speaker 4 (35:49):
You know one play doesn't really solidify.

Speaker 2 (35:52):
You disagree okay how is there not like a hip-hop
hall of fame a pop hall of fame a rock
hall it's overarching everybody wants to be cool like the rock.

Speaker 6 (36:00):
Stars yeah understand that yeah they kind of all go
under that umbrella it seems like but it's a good
spot and they have like special exhibits too they had
a saturday night live exhibit cool nice all the music
they've had on that throughout the years and then they
featured a year That they say is like the most
important year of music.

Speaker 2 (36:18):
There's a theory. Everything that was going on and all
the different types of genres. Yeah. You want to take
a stab at it? Oh, man. What year do you
think people... 94.

Speaker 4 (36:26):
76.

Speaker 5 (36:26):
I'll go 73.

Speaker 2 (36:26):
We're not even in the decade.

Speaker 3 (36:28):
Really?

Speaker 2 (36:28):
80s? Was it the 80s?

Speaker 3 (36:35):
Damn 80s.

Speaker 2 (36:35):
1984.

Speaker 4 (36:36):
No.

Speaker 2 (36:36):
Oh, wow. Jiro on our YouTube chat got that right.
Nailed it. Yeah, 1984. There you go. I think they're
saying the theory was like. Hip-hop was really starting to
come out. You still had a lot of rock and roll.
Heavy metal was coming. MTV was pushing music really big, too. Yeah,
MTV was getting going. Yeah, that's cool. Big part of it.

(36:59):
So it was cool.

Speaker 3 (36:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (37:00):
I like the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Speaker 1 (37:02):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (37:02):
We learned something. Yeah, it was a good time. I
like to come in and try and drive. It's too
early to be funny.

Speaker 1 (37:06):
That's Rockstar and Pat McGann over there. This is Hardcore Roots.

Speaker 2 (37:13):
Yeah, so I had a good time. Hell yeah.

Speaker 1 (37:14):
Now you brought horoscopes.

Speaker 2 (37:16):
You know how I like to do?

Speaker 4 (37:17):
I know.

Speaker 2 (37:18):
The first Thursday of every month, you know how I
bring in the paper? Yeah, Pat actually has. And I
haven't seen one of these for a while. Is that
the Tribune or the Sun-Times? A real newspaper. I have
two of them. I got the Tribune and the Times. Oh,
look at you. Look at my thumbs. I got ink
all over my fingers. Was that a whole $ 5 right there?
It was six. Holy cow.

Speaker 3 (37:38):
Can you like scan that on your phone and get
AI to do a summary so you don't have to
read the whole thing?

Speaker 6 (37:42):
I probably could if I knew how to do that.

Speaker 1 (37:44):
Yeah, that's probably true.

Speaker 4 (37:46):
Yikes.

Speaker 1 (37:46):
All right. What we got? What we got? I'm a
slave to astrology.

Speaker 6 (37:49):
I'm going to start with Maria, right? We got to
go ladies first. And this is so on point based
on what we just went through.

Speaker 1 (37:55):
I bet. I'm a Capricorn.

Speaker 3 (37:57):
All right.

Speaker 6 (37:57):
First, your star ratings are dynamic. Things are looking good
for you this month. But coming up here today, your
work routine will be interrupted.

Speaker 2 (38:10):
Staff shortages. Late deliveries. Something will occur.

Speaker 6 (38:14):
Guard against being obsessed with something, perhaps meeting a deadline
or going by the rule book. Stay flexible in the
passage of time. Will this really matter? Keep things in perspective.
Obsessed with what? This is like some random ideas.

Speaker 2 (38:33):
Are these horoscopes really based on something or someone just
throwing darts? Like that sounds pretty. You're the expert.

Speaker 1 (38:38):
Why are you asking us?

Speaker 2 (38:39):
To be fair, you did say equipment failure. And right
when you came in the room, Pat, two of our
cameras went out. So, yeah, that's that's right.

Speaker 1 (38:47):
I know you're the harbinger of the horoscope.

Speaker 2 (38:50):
It really is. It's OK. So now should we go
to Maris here?

Speaker 5 (38:53):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (38:54):
The Sagittarius. Sagittarius. Yes, sir.

Speaker 1 (38:56):
Saggy boy.

Speaker 2 (38:57):
You have a positive or an average star rating for
the day.

Speaker 1 (39:01):
All right.

Speaker 2 (39:01):
A partner or close friend might throw you a curveball today.
That's great news. Is it Kanye? Better than getting someone
throwing one at your head. A partner or close friend
might throw one at your face today. No. Be ready
for something unexpected. Someone might be jealous or they might

(39:23):
misunderstand something. Even a gesture of generosity or caring on
your part. Fortunately, you make a great impression on everybody. Oh, OK.
He does. Sounds like my life in general. Does that
hit home? It does.

Speaker 4 (39:34):
I'm fighting for my life. My other radio station I
take care of.

Speaker 2 (39:40):
We've got Kanye. And I just got the tickets for tonight.
The ones they gave away, Donny was just like, oh,
by the way, we got your tickets. We're what, five
hours from the show? Six hours from the show.

Speaker 4 (39:51):
So as soon as we get done with the show,
I'm just going to be like sending tickets out the
entire time.

Speaker 1 (39:56):
Maris runs promotions for WGCI.

Speaker 2 (39:58):
He is a busy dude. Are you going to the show? No, no, no.
I'm tired. I'm very tired. Listen, if there's free tickets,
I'm going. Mike, you got cancer? Yeah, unfortunately. All right.
You might feel restless. Always.

Speaker 1 (40:15):
You don't say.

Speaker 2 (40:16):
Can't even sit through this. You might feel restless.

Speaker 6 (40:21):
Make no assumptions when dealing with authority figures because there
is a possibility of confusion or misunderstandings.

Speaker 2 (40:27):
Always. Wow.

Speaker 1 (40:29):
That's so spot on.

Speaker 2 (40:30):
It's crazy. Today, you have strong ideas about shared property, inheritances,
and debt.

Speaker 1 (40:37):
Weird because we were just having a conversation about.

Speaker 3 (40:39):
That that's crazy all right yeah wow this newspaper can
look into our life much like ai.

Speaker 1 (40:48):
It's like a hard copy of ai.

Speaker 4 (40:50):
Oh seriously uh labor day is coming up uh are
you a big grill guy you get out oh i
love to grill what's what's your go-to what do you
like to throw out there.

Speaker 2 (40:58):
Burgers chicken ribs i might do ribs this weekend oh
i love some for the holiday But I like to
I just finish them off on the grill. Yeah. I
bake them and get them nice and.

Speaker 6 (41:09):
Just real slow cooked a little bit and then throw
them on for a little char.

Speaker 2 (41:14):
Did you say you came back from Cleveland and had
one of your kids had an issue? Yes. My daughter
broke her foot. That's that seems like as a parent,
I would freak out. I don't know. I feel like
that's a big deal. Do you get a call?

Speaker 6 (41:27):
Yeah i got a call she called me because i
was in cleveland yeah hanging out i was like oh
that sucks i gotta they're about to bring me up
and hilarity she's cool though everything no everything's good we

(41:47):
went to the orthopedic yesterday um We looked at the x-rays,
which I don't even know if I trust.

Speaker 2 (41:53):
They're like, you see this little line right here?

Speaker 1 (41:57):
I don't. Thank you.

Speaker 2 (41:58):
They're in black and white. Like, what is this? Put
her in a boot for six months.

Speaker 1 (42:03):
Yeah, they had color. That would change everything.

Speaker 2 (42:07):
Really see something?

Speaker 6 (42:08):
You update your stuff here?

Speaker 2 (42:10):
Have you ever broken anything? Yeah, I've broken my arm. How?
Some fingers.

Speaker 6 (42:15):
I broke my arm plate. football in like gym class.
I never even played football. I never played that real football,
you know, it was just gym class. And it was
also my freshman year of high school. I was telling
my daughter, like, this is how I started my high school,
you know, experience with the first couple of, it was,
we were playing like two hand touch and I got
like shoved from, from back, you know, pushed.

Speaker 2 (42:34):
You broke your arm. I had the ball. And then
I like, once I break my fall, you know, when
you're going down and you just try to catch yourself. Yeah.
And I just have, you know, little, little sissy wrists snapped.

Speaker 3 (42:46):
You had performance artists.

Speaker 2 (42:51):
Develop this sense of humor.

Speaker 3 (42:53):
Go into theater.

Speaker 2 (43:00):
My bad.

Speaker 1 (43:00):
You're going to tell jokes at theaters. Have you ever broken?

Speaker 2 (43:03):
I've broken tons of stuff. I've broken both my ankles,
both my feet, both my legs, all my fingers, both
my arms.

Speaker 1 (43:09):
And my knee. All in separate incidents.

Speaker 2 (43:12):
Yeah. Yeah. A couple car crashes and then all snowboarding
after that. Okay. I was going to say, what are
you doing? Snowboarding. We used to throw ourselves off at
one time. I didn't break anything. I cracked the back
of my skull. There was a little cliff and we
snowboarded a lot and we were good at it. And
so I went to just kind of do a little
backflip off of it, but I over rotated and right
below the surface of the snow was a rock. And

(43:34):
I smacked the back of my head on the rock.
I literally went out on the mountain and woke up
in the hospital. They took me all the way down
the mountain behind the ski patrol and everything, and I
woke up in the hospital with my mom standing over me.

Speaker 1 (43:45):
That was the longest you had ever been quiet.

Speaker 2 (43:47):
No joke.

Speaker 6 (43:48):
Don't wake him up. You don't hear little Cliff a lot. Yeah,
it was probably like 10, 15 feet. Tiny little Cliff.
Just a baby Cliff. How about you, Maris?

Speaker 2 (44:01):
Nah, I've never broken anything. Wow, look at you. You're
a big man, though.

Speaker 3 (44:04):
I'm thin.

Speaker 2 (44:08):
There's no muscle or anything here. You got muscle. I
try sometimes.

Speaker 1 (44:12):
Your knees give you enough grief.

Speaker 4 (44:14):
I mean, I didn't say the joints were good, but
my bones have survived many, many tests of soccer, baseball.
I actually took a curveball to the face in Little League.
It was funny because it was right before I was
flying out to see my dad and my eye was
swollen shut.

Speaker 2 (44:32):
So I'm walking through the airport with my mom.

Speaker 4 (44:34):
Everybody's just looking at me like, Are you okay?

Speaker 2 (44:40):
Do you need help, son? Your mom's like, I didn't
hit him.

Speaker 1 (44:44):
I mouthed off to my mom. I learned.

Speaker 2 (44:48):
Ma'am?

Speaker 1 (44:49):
No, my spirit has been broken many times.

Speaker 2 (44:52):
Oh, wow. Just the spirit.

Speaker 1 (44:53):
But aside from that.

Speaker 2 (44:54):
You ever put it.

Speaker 1 (44:57):
In a sling? Sling low, sweet chariot. My toe from
the horse was broken.

Speaker 2 (45:03):
We call it a tow truck. That's a good joke.
I'm a dad. I'm a dad.

Speaker 1 (45:09):
Gotta be ready for these. We love those.

Speaker 3 (45:12):
I would say you nailed it.

Speaker 1 (45:16):
And then my wrists.

Speaker 2 (45:19):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (45:19):
Also from horses.

Speaker 2 (45:21):
Actually, no. Really?

Speaker 1 (45:21):
One of them from a horse.

Speaker 3 (45:23):
The other one, because there was a year, and I
want to say 2004, where the only shoes that they
had for fourth grade little girls, which I was at
the time, were high heels. And I was coming out
of my piano teacher's house, and she happened to live, like,
on a hill.

Speaker 1 (45:37):
Little cliff?

Speaker 2 (45:38):
Just a little cliff.

Speaker 1 (45:39):
Little cliff.

Speaker 3 (45:41):
And my ankle gave out in those high heels, obviously,
and I tumbled all the way down the hill and
landed on my wrist.

Speaker 2 (45:48):
Dang.

Speaker 1 (45:49):
Yeah, I get that.

Speaker 2 (45:50):
That's rough.

Speaker 1 (45:50):
That was an emergency room visit.

Speaker 2 (45:52):
And then casted?

Speaker 1 (45:53):
And then cast it, yeah, five weeks.

Speaker 2 (45:56):
That's what's tough, because then the atrophy, you get weaker.
It's awful. Well, the bathing with the cast. You ever
have a leg cast on? You got to bathe? You
got to hang your whole leg out? You've broken your
entire body. I've done the whole thing.

Speaker 1 (46:08):
You bathe?

Speaker 2 (46:09):
Well, it's rare, but yes. Once every couple months, at least. So, Pat,
what's coming up on your podcast? We have Pat Manley,
who's like the most tenured Chicago bear ever. Who else
will be coming up? Jeff Morrow is going to return.
He's been on the show before. He's the sandwich king. Nice.
Big guy on the Food Network. Great dude. And then

(46:30):
I'm talking to this hotshot rookie on the Bears. Oh,
a hotshot rookie. Trying to line it up. So I'll
just say that because we don't have a date committed yet.
And Ben Bradley from WGN. He's an afternoon news anchor.
Great dude. I love news people. I don't know why. Yeah,
we know, we know. Not just the hot ones. No,
I just think news people are funny. They make me

(46:51):
laugh because they always have to keep like the... you know,
be newsy, but they're normal people too. Unless you work
on WGN. That's true.

Speaker 6 (46:57):
A lot of people get bummed out watching the news
these days. I love that you're just dying laughing.

Speaker 1 (47:01):
That's right, not me. Positive spin. I hate whales. Oh
my God.

Speaker 2 (47:07):
Hey, Pat, thank you for coming in today. Great to
see you guys. Always a pleasure, man.

Speaker 1 (47:15):
That's the Thursday version of it. It's Rock 95 by Thursday.
We're not at it apart. You know what I mean?

Speaker 3 (47:22):
The best way to enjoy Thursday.

Speaker 1 (47:24):
Is by listening on YouTube.

Speaker 3 (47:27):
We're going to tell you what we think depending on what.

Speaker 1 (47:31):
You ordered a drink.

Speaker 3 (47:32):
PBR, that's Pabst Blue Ribbon, is getting into the Halloween
spirit with a limited edition Friday the 13th collaboration that
turns its 12-pack packaging into a wearable Jason Voorhees hockey mask.
Fans can cut the mask out of the box, Or
apparently just wear the whole pack. And PBR even suggests
adding an extra hole for easier beer access.

Speaker 1 (47:55):
If that's what you want.

Speaker 3 (47:56):
The fall campaign will also include Jason-themed apparel, glassware, koozies, bobbleheads,
watch parties, and appearances at events including New York Comic Con.

Speaker 1 (48:04):
The promotion launches in September.

Speaker 2 (48:06):
That's this month.

Speaker 1 (48:07):
And fittingly runs through Friday, November 13th.

Speaker 2 (48:10):
Take me back a second here. Okay. They said they
want you to add an extra hole to the box? Yeah.

Speaker 3 (48:15):
Yeah, for beer access, because there's probably not a mouth hole.
And if you want to put something in your mouth
while wearing that mask, you should cut a hole for
an access point.

Speaker 2 (48:25):
Got it.

Speaker 4 (48:25):
I just wanted to make sure I understood the instructions properly.
Not that I had something stuck in my throat.

Speaker 1 (48:30):
I bet you did.

Speaker 2 (48:32):
Then he always.

Speaker 1 (48:33):
Probably after he cut a hole in that mask.

Speaker 2 (48:34):
Oh, damn it.

Speaker 1 (48:35):
Smartass. Hey, I got a question.

Speaker 2 (48:38):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (48:38):
You know how they had to outlaw a bunch of
those electronic cigarettes because they tasted like bubble.

Speaker 1 (48:43):
Gum or, you know, whatever.

Speaker 2 (48:45):
The flavors.

Speaker 3 (48:46):
And they were like, you're marketing to kids. Hey, they
just put a Halloween mask on a beer package.

Speaker 2 (48:51):
I mean, those movies are rated R. They're not marketed
to kids. Yeah, that's true. Okay.

Speaker 1 (48:57):
Or not.

Speaker 2 (48:58):
I guess that's technically true. What's a kid's movie that's out?
They put some other mask on. Paw Patrol PBR box.
I like the way that works. Paw Patrol PBR.

Speaker 4 (49:10):
If you put Spider-Man on the side of that, you're
looking at a different level there.

Speaker 2 (49:14):
Yeah, that's okay. Extra hole for your web. I hate
how good that was.

Speaker 3 (49:22):
Why is it sticky?

Speaker 2 (49:28):
I'm swinging from the building.

Speaker 1 (49:30):
Just have more PBRs. They'll like it more.

Speaker 2 (49:33):
Are you buying the special release? PBR sucks. It's a
horrible beer.

Speaker 4 (49:40):
Maria so i'll just drink while you're buying the friday
the 13th pbr.

Speaker 3 (49:44):
Beer i think am i going to go out of
my way to buy it not necessarily do i drink
enough pbr that between now and november 13th when i
go and pick up a case it will probably inevitably
have that mask on it yes will i use it
in the bedroom absolutely yeah.

Speaker 2 (50:03):
Alone. Hey, sure.

Speaker 5 (50:08):
Why not?

Speaker 1 (50:09):
I like a good mirror.

Speaker 2 (50:10):
Yeah, that mirror on the ceiling. Why do you know
there's a mirror on the ceiling? I don't. I just
have my own. I know it's a move.

Speaker 1 (50:18):
There's not a mirror on my ceiling, but I don't
need it to be on the ceiling.

Speaker 2 (50:20):
I don't have one either on my ceiling. Forget I
said that.

Speaker 1 (50:23):
I don't have sex. I'm not married.

Speaker 2 (50:28):
Beautiful. You should have some more PBR.

Speaker 1 (50:32):
Oh, then maybe.

Speaker 2 (50:34):
That's not going to help. 844-955-9550. Well, maybe the mask
will help.

Speaker 4 (50:39):
Looking forward to this special edition, the Friday the 13th
edition of PBR.

Speaker 2 (50:46):
Let us know. Mask stays on. Yeah!

Speaker 1 (50:54):
Yeah!

Speaker 2 (50:55):
Nerd alert. It's time to dork out. Dork. Activision, I
may actually love you. Oh.

Speaker 4 (51:04):
In an age where there's a company that starts with
a play, ends in station, just continuing to argue with
people about whether they own or license their games. Activision
is working with Atari to re-release a whole slew of cartridges.

(51:24):
They're also re-releasing equipment. And if you have the old
school Atari... From way back in the way back, you'll
be able to play these cartridges on that game.

Speaker 1 (51:34):
Shout out to physical media.

Speaker 2 (51:36):
Hell yeah.

Speaker 4 (51:38):
39 Activision games are going to be released in four
separate collections.

Speaker 2 (51:43):
First one in November of 2026.

Speaker 4 (51:44):
Then you got spring, summer, and fall of 2027.

Speaker 2 (51:50):
Shout out. You know what we love.

Speaker 4 (51:53):
And more than anything, it's fun experiencing old.

Speaker 2 (51:59):
Video games with the new generation.

Speaker 1 (52:01):
Yes.

Speaker 2 (52:02):
Because they look at you like it's a time machine.
What the hell is this? Bro, I got to switch.
And I think back to some of the games we
used to play where I see those graphics and I'm like,
we thought those were so great.

Speaker 4 (52:15):
I forget my niece and nephew. They got a hold
to an old school Game Boy. And they're just playing
Mario and.

Speaker 2 (52:21):
Loving all of it. And I was like, that's the
kind of joy I love to see and would love
to continue to share.

Speaker 4 (52:27):
In my video game life. But Atari's, you know, the OG,
one of the goats. So I never had an Atari.
I wasn't old enough to have an Atari.

Speaker 1 (52:36):
We had one.

Speaker 2 (52:37):
You had one? Yeah, I was very young, but I
remember we had one. Nice. Space Invaders and Tetris.

Speaker 3 (52:41):
I didn't have an Atari, but I did have, well,
my aunt had the NES.

Speaker 1 (52:44):
And then I would go over to her house and
play it all the time. I would make the argument.

Speaker 3 (52:48):
That in much the same way that there is a
correct order to watch the Star Wars movies, I think
that there could be a correct order to play video games.
And I think starting with an Atari NES is a
good thing for all kids to start with because you
have to understand that sort of 8-bit way of playing.
And then you can understand way more about the rest
of the video games that followed.

Speaker 4 (53:08):
I like it as a time capsule in that when
you go back to the 8-bit, it's slow. it's frustrating
it's very it's some of the older games are hard
for me to actually play because they don't respond as
quickly as games do right now but if you are
able to like take what you have today and go
with it and then you can just kind of sprinkle

(53:29):
in some old school games i like i like doing
a sprinkling versus a full learning from atari because god Well.

Speaker 2 (53:36):
You know what I noticed when I got Donkey Kong
the other day? They start some of these games slow.
So like the first couple levels, there weren't even any
bad guys. They sort of slowly teach you.

Speaker 4 (53:47):
They're saving money on printing paper. You used to get
a guidebook with your video games and the guidebook would
tell you how to play.

Speaker 2 (53:53):
Interesting.

Speaker 4 (53:54):
Now they've introduced it. That's the first level of pretty
much every new game.

Speaker 2 (53:58):
It's just warming you up. They take you through the mechanics. Interesting.

Speaker 4 (54:00):
And then the rest of the game, they're softly introducing
you to new mechanics.

Speaker 2 (54:04):
That's how the whole game feels. So that you can
continue to advance. How interesting. And sometimes they overdo it.
Save the trees. I like the books.

Speaker 4 (54:12):
I miss the books. You love the physical stuff. That
is one thing I miss. I'm getting ready to buy
a new fighting game. And when a fighting game, you
got your combos and you got to know how to
string them right. And if you don't have that sheet
in front of you, I can't keep hitting start.

Speaker 2 (54:26):
That's true.

Speaker 4 (54:26):
I just want to I want to glance over. I
want to kick your ass and then I want to
glance back over and do it again. What fighting game?
Marvel took on up, up, down, down, up, down, up, down.

Speaker 2 (54:39):
Up, up, down, down, up, up, down, down, A, B, A, B.

Speaker 1 (54:42):
I thought it was up, up, down, down, left, right, A, B.

Speaker 2 (54:45):
I don't know. Or B, A. My brain is gone.

Speaker 5 (54:48):
Oh, no.

Speaker 2 (54:48):
Somebody texted in.

Speaker 3 (54:50):
Badass?

Speaker 1 (54:50):
We need help.

Speaker 2 (54:52):
I'm messing up the code.

Speaker 1 (54:53):
Up, up, down, down, left, right, B, A, start. That's
what it is. Up, up, down, down, left, right, B, A, C.

Speaker 2 (54:58):
Do you know why those codes are built in the games?

Speaker 4 (55:00):
Because the developers were using it to battle test the
games before they released them and they forgot to remove them.

Speaker 1 (55:06):
Really?

Speaker 2 (55:06):
And then they just left them in because people found
out and they just enjoyed the game that way. Once
a week, you should give us some nerd history. That's
kind of cool, man. I've learned a couple things I
had no idea. I sure can. He just brushed his
shoulder off.

Speaker 4 (55:18):
I can teach you whatever you want to learn. Like
this new artist right here on Rock 95.5. Stellar.

Speaker 2 (55:24):
Stellar.

Speaker 4 (55:24):
Fantastic. Got a bright future ahead of them. Already off
to an amazing 2026. It's Bon Jovi.

Speaker 2 (55:31):
Want it dead or alive. You got some Packers news. Uh-oh.
I know. Why? Check this out. That's okay. 39-year-old Cheesehead
in Wisconsin arrested after he allegedly robbed a bar while
wearing a plush Packers robe. According to police, Thomas left

(55:53):
his two young children at home by themselves early last
Friday and broke into a place called Jackson's Blue Ribbon Pub.
It wasn't open at the time, hence the break-in part.
So he crawled through a window to get in. The
bar's surveillance system caught him in the act. Police arrested
him a block away after finding him asleep in the
bushes with a six-pack of White Claw and a bottle

(56:13):
of Tito's vodka. He was charged with burglary and two
counts of neglecting a child. What did those kids do
to him? Seriously.

Speaker 3 (56:21):
White Claw and Tito's, this basic bitch.

Speaker 1 (56:26):
Oh, my God.

Speaker 2 (56:27):
He's the most blonde-haired, blue-eyed woman I've ever seen. That's funny.
I do like that he was wearing the Packers robe.
That makes it more fun to make fun of. But, like,
you just... There's so many things to this, but good job,
Packers fans. Anything under the robe, I wonder, because that changes. Well,
I didn't get any decent exposure. It's probably his Green

(56:48):
Bay Packers song.

Speaker 3 (56:50):
Fine.

Speaker 2 (56:51):
It's Borat Green Bay Packers.

Speaker 1 (56:54):
So, Packer, is that a verb or an noun?

Speaker 2 (56:57):
Oh, my God. Ma'am.

Speaker 1 (56:58):
What?

Speaker 2 (56:59):
Pack cheese.

Speaker 1 (57:01):
Yeah, whatever you want.

Speaker 2 (57:02):
Whatever you think.

Speaker 1 (57:03):
Pack it in.

Speaker 2 (57:04):
By the way, I will say, hate the Packers, of course.
Driving through Wisconsin and stopping at random cheese factories and
stuff is so great. Cheese curds, baby. Oh, my God.

Speaker 1 (57:13):
The squeaky ones.

Speaker 2 (57:14):
Oh, my goodness.

Speaker 4 (57:16):
And then even crazier, they have all these different cheese curds.
It's not just different cheeses. It's different flavors.

Speaker 2 (57:23):
Oh, yeah. Like the ranch flavor. Maria.

Speaker 3 (57:26):
Being lactose intolerant in Wisconsin, that's a curdle hurdle.

Speaker 1 (57:32):
I love how your brain works. It doesn't.

Speaker 2 (57:35):
It doesn't work.

Speaker 1 (57:36):
It malfunctions and then sometimes one of those glitches is funny.

Speaker 4 (57:39):
I was going to say that mouse is working hard today.

Speaker 2 (57:42):
Also a game in the Wisconsin State Olympics. What? Curdle hurdle?

Speaker 1 (57:48):
All right.

Speaker 4 (57:49):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (57:50):
That's a laugh. Time for a little rock news, shall we?

Speaker 1 (57:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (57:55):
Rock 95.5, Chicago's rock station. I'm Michael, king of rock news.
And I do a great job every day and didn't
at all mess it up yesterday.

Speaker 1 (58:03):
Listen, redemption time.

Speaker 2 (58:04):
It was perfect.

Speaker 1 (58:04):
Yep.

Speaker 2 (58:05):
We were talking about yesterday when I got all fumbled up.
Five bands that hate the... What are you coming over
here for, Maris? Freaking me out. Sneaking up behind me. No,
I was just looking at your notes. Okay. Yeah. Five
bands that hate Green Day. We covered some of these yesterday.
Sex Pistols, Oasis. Noel from Oasis called them pretend punks.

(58:26):
The Killers, also another band on that list that they
do not get along with. Flowers, Brandon Flowers, was really
offended by American Idiot, especially by Green Day filming bullet
in a Bible in England while crowds screamed, I don't
want to be an American Idiot. He called it cheap
and anti-American. kind of interesting wow the blink 182 one's
the one i find interesting uh less we hate the
music and more real touring rivalry on the 2012 2002

(58:49):
pop disaster tour blink closed every night while green day
was billed as a co-headliner mark hoppus later said that
he got the sense green day hated being reduced to
opening for blink because even when i went and saw
those they were supposed to be switching nights but blink
would just close every night because they wanted you know
that's probably where it is yeah He said there were
hallway screaming matches with Green Day's manager. Trey Cool and

(59:11):
Mike later called Blink-182 irritating in an interview. And then
Tom fired back at Trey saying Tom said he's fine
with the other two guys. But Trey, he thinks, is
mildly handicapped and they couldn't even speak to him. OK,
like they couldn't even interact with him. That's wild. And
I've been around Trey. And what he seems to me,
he seems like a kid. Like a hyper kid. He

(59:32):
just runs around a lot. He's kind of wacky. Yeah.
Kind of like me. So you guys hung out. Didn't
hang out, but on the Pop Disaster Tour, I met Link182.
That's the only time I've ever met him. I had
a full guitar signed by Tom and everything. And actually,
at that show, Travis Barker had a broken leg. So
he was drumming double with one foot. Like he'd go
back and forth. That's insane.

Speaker 1 (59:52):
Incredible.

Speaker 2 (59:54):
That shows talent. You remember Plus 44? Yeah. With just
Mark and Travis. When they were on tour, Travis had
a broken arm. So he was drumming. With one hand. Jeez.
I mean, the guy's incredible. Oh, yeah. Kind of interesting.
And the other band that we didn't get to yesterday,
or the story I kind of fubbed a little bit,
was Third Eye Blind. This one got physical. The K-Rock
Weenie Roast in 98, Third Eye Blind bassist Aaron Salazar

(01:00:16):
drunkenly ran on stage during Green Day's set and tried
to tackle Mike Dirt. Security piled on, Dirt kicked him,
and later Dirt ended up in the hospital with a
skull fracture after being hit with a bottle in the head.
Salazar apologized, not for the bottle, but a lot of
people thought that he threw that bottle. Needless to say,
for years now, there's been beef between Third Eye Blind

(01:00:38):
and Green Day.

Speaker 3 (01:00:38):
Are you suggesting that rock stars have egos and may
butt heads?

Speaker 1 (01:00:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:00:43):
Sounds about right. One more thing real quick, Maris. I've
been trying to get to all week. C2E2 has announced
that the theme for their show this year is Music Festival. Oh, yeah.
Here's what they wrote on Instagram. The stage is set.
The lineup is coming, packed with amazing headliners and surprises
that will have you running to the barricade. Should we
talk more about this tomorrow? Yes. Let's do it. Do

(01:01:04):
you want nerd news tomorrow? I do. You know what?
We should all come up with a band, and if
you're listening, come up with a band that would be
great to play C2E2. Oh, my God. A nerd band.
I'm trying to think. Oh, my God. There's so many
of them. It's got to be GWAR. What are you
talking about? GWAR. No. Yes, GWAR.

Speaker 4 (01:01:19):
But think about all the comics that these artists have
written over the years.

Speaker 2 (01:01:22):
Coheed and Cambria. Oh, my God.

Speaker 1 (01:01:24):
Oh, My Chemical Romance.

Speaker 2 (01:01:25):
There'll be another good one.

Speaker 1 (01:01:27):
Or GWAR.

Speaker 2 (01:01:27):
Yes.

Speaker 5 (01:01:30):
Now, here's the pit-only plug with Maris.

Speaker 2 (01:01:35):
Plug it. 844-955-9550. A very special pit happens today.

Speaker 4 (01:01:41):
Call in for your chance to win ACDC tickets. They
are going to be, and yes, this is the tomorrow show.
So you better be ready for a road trip to
Notre Dame Stadium September 4th.

Speaker 2 (01:01:55):
How far is that? Like two hours. Oh, that's easy.
It's not bad for an ACDC and ACDC. Pretty reckless. Yes, sir.
We want you to play. Pit happens.

Speaker 3 (01:02:04):
844-955-9550.

Speaker 4 (01:02:04):
Be caller 10. Now, today, our pit mistress is Miss
Maria Palmer.

Speaker 2 (01:02:09):
I'm sorry.

Speaker 1 (01:02:16):
I'm divorced.

Speaker 2 (01:02:17):
I'm sorry.

Speaker 3 (01:02:18):
Is that how that works?

Speaker 1 (01:02:19):
You're not a miss anymore?

Speaker 2 (01:02:20):
I thought it was just a miss if you're not married.

Speaker 1 (01:02:22):
You can also be miss if you are married, I think,
if you're not defining yourself by your husband. I don't know.
I don't know. I don't know. You guys don't have
to change your title ever.

Speaker 2 (01:02:29):
We don't.

Speaker 1 (01:02:30):
Must be nice.

Speaker 2 (01:02:30):
I don't.

Speaker 1 (01:02:31):
Is it cool to have just consistent identity?

Speaker 2 (01:02:33):
All people call me is stupid. So that's, I really
do want to hear more.

Speaker 1 (01:02:37):
Call it accurately. We're going to go to a show.

Speaker 2 (01:02:39):
We're going to a show.

Speaker 3 (01:02:40):
Nice.

Speaker 2 (01:02:41):
Let's pull somebody up right now. Live on the radio.
Who are we talking to here on rock 95, five.
My name's.

Speaker 4 (01:02:49):
Brad. Hey, Brad, how you doing? Thanks for joining us
for Pit Happens today. We're getting ready to put you
in a situation where your goal is not to get
kicked out, tossed out, thrown out, or bounced out by security.
As mentioned, Maria is our pit mistress today. And up
for grabs, ACDC ticket.

Speaker 3 (01:03:08):
My God. Aka-daka.

Speaker 1 (01:03:09):
Oh, my goodness.

Speaker 2 (01:03:11):
Close call there. I caught it. I caught it.

Speaker 1 (01:03:16):
Anyway, Brad, let's go to a show, shall we?

Speaker 2 (01:03:19):
Thank you.

Speaker 1 (01:03:20):
I think so, too.

Speaker 3 (01:03:21):
It's me and you and Mikey. And see, we know
where we're going. Maris doesn't know. It's a surprise for him.

Speaker 2 (01:03:28):
Oh, it's a surprise. Oh, no.

Speaker 1 (01:03:30):
He's like, what artist is playing?

Speaker 2 (01:03:32):
Let me out of the car.

Speaker 1 (01:03:33):
Technically a bunch of them.

Speaker 2 (01:03:34):
Let me out of the car.

Speaker 1 (01:03:35):
He's like, what songs are we playing? I don't want
to be here. I'm like, you're going to know them.
But they're going to be a little more censored.

Speaker 2 (01:03:40):
I don't want to be here. Let me out of
the car.

Speaker 1 (01:03:43):
We get into the venue.

Speaker 2 (01:03:44):
Damn it.

Speaker 1 (01:03:45):
Scan in. We get down to the pit. Because obviously
we have pit passes. And we're at a kid's bop show.
Maris enraged. He hates kids.

Speaker 2 (01:03:56):
I died.

Speaker 1 (01:03:57):
He's like, ah! Not a fan of bops either. Get
these little gremlins away from me. Everyone's sticky. No one
knows what's going on.

Speaker 3 (01:04:04):
Half of them are dissociated out because they can't deal
with this overstimulating environment.

Speaker 2 (01:04:09):
That was just me.

Speaker 1 (01:04:09):
And that's just Mike. That's gross.

Speaker 3 (01:04:13):
So Maris starts absolutely losing it, obviously, security. Not happy
that there's an angry man in the mosh pit. And also,
how come all of these adults are at a kids'
bop show, not one of you got children? What are
you doing, Brad, to handle security so we don't get
kicked out?

Speaker 2 (01:04:31):
Maybe buying them a beer.

Speaker 1 (01:04:32):
Yeah, buy them a beer at a Kidz Bop show.

Speaker 2 (01:04:34):
Why not? Well, they've got to be serving beer at
that Kidz Bop show. Here we go. It's a kid's show,
and they've got to have it. Nice. 20-sided dice. You
landed on a 16.

Speaker 1 (01:04:44):
Oh, well done.

Speaker 2 (01:04:45):
A 16 is good.

Speaker 1 (01:04:46):
Those cops are like, you know what? Yeah, it's got to.

Speaker 3 (01:04:49):
Be a long night, and we're feeling a bit like
Maris here. So cheers to that. And wow, Brad saves
the day.

Speaker 2 (01:04:56):
Yeah. Brad, thank you for buying everybody beer to calm
the situation down.

Speaker 1 (01:04:59):
You still stay for the whole show?

Speaker 2 (01:05:00):
Can I go home early?

Speaker 1 (01:05:01):
No.

Speaker 2 (01:05:02):
I stayed.

Speaker 4 (01:05:03):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:05:03):
Why did I stay the entire time?

Speaker 1 (01:05:05):
Oh, we held you hostage. We added a little fun
to the head in here, too.

Speaker 2 (01:05:08):
That looks terrible in public.

Speaker 1 (01:05:10):
I bet it does. Not as bad as the adults
with the kids pop show, so whatever.

Speaker 4 (01:05:14):
Uh the great best news of all brad you've got
the acdc tickets you're going to the show tomorrow over
at notre dame stadium brad do you got pto to
take tomorrow off.

Speaker 2 (01:05:29):
Uh you're already off so it works out well perfect.

Speaker 4 (01:05:32):
Nice we got the right one here also brad uh
do you know who you would like to take with
you on this one i know it's last minute Probably.

Speaker 2 (01:05:41):
Should take the wife. Might cause some anger if I don't.

Speaker 1 (01:05:44):
Good call.

Speaker 2 (01:05:45):
Shout out your wife really quick. What's her name?

Speaker 3 (01:05:49):
Lisa.

Speaker 4 (01:05:49):
Shout out to Lisa. Surprise trip to Indiana to go
check out ACDC.

Speaker 2 (01:05:58):
Brad, congratulations.

Speaker 4 (01:05:59):
And for everybody else, if you want to try and
get some tickets, head on over to Ticketmaster.com. All thanks
to our friends over at Jam Productions and Almost text time, guys.

Speaker 2 (01:06:10):
I love text time. It's going to be my.

Speaker 1 (01:06:11):
Vocal stim for the day.

Speaker 4 (01:06:14):
Textual.

Speaker 1 (01:06:15):
That's what you sounded like.

Speaker 2 (01:06:17):
Okay, I'm sorry.

Speaker 1 (01:06:17):
No, it was good.

Speaker 2 (01:06:18):
Oh, you liked it?

Speaker 1 (01:06:19):
Yeah, I said it was going to be.

Speaker 2 (01:06:20):
A vocal stim. I can do it again for you
and record it.

Speaker 1 (01:06:22):
Can you?

Speaker 2 (01:06:23):
And then I can send it to you.

Speaker 1 (01:06:24):
Do it right now.

Speaker 2 (01:06:25):
When you're on vacation.

Speaker 1 (01:06:26):
I don't want dear listener to miss out on this.

Speaker 2 (01:06:27):
What did I do, though? I forgot.

Speaker 1 (01:06:29):
I've kind of already forgotten, too.

Speaker 2 (01:06:31):
We're terrible. Rock 95.5 Chicago's Rock Station. It is text time.
Did you take a bite mid-sentence? I didn't mean to.
It was right before we went on the air. Pat
McGann brought us in donuts. Shout out to Pat McGann.
And Maris, you were talking about how good these donuts were.

(01:06:52):
I can't stop shoving this thing in my mouth. All right,
from the 610. Maria, Tinder plus Uber equals tuber. Get
your tubes delivered.

Speaker 1 (01:07:03):
You know what tubes are? Tubers are potatoes, and I
do love a potato.

Speaker 2 (01:07:07):
I don't think that's what they meant.

Speaker 1 (01:07:09):
I think that that's what they meant. Bob says, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding.

Speaker 2 (01:07:13):
Ding, ding. Ding, ding, ding, bell ring.

Speaker 1 (01:07:15):
What a text.

Speaker 2 (01:07:19):
Joe, one of our OGs, he texted in saying he.

Speaker 4 (01:07:23):
Just put down a deposit on a wedding reception venue.

Speaker 2 (01:07:27):
Congratulations, number one. Should I send y'all invites? Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:07:33):
You can send them for sure. I don't know if
we can make it. Always send invites. We're interested in
what you're doing.

Speaker 1 (01:07:38):
I'll go if I don't have to get you a gift.
I'm just being Rick.

Speaker 2 (01:07:43):
Oh, wow. From the 708. Thursday breakfast was two. What's
a BAP? What's a BAP? Does anybody know? I... Big
ass paps?

Speaker 1 (01:07:55):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:07:55):
I think he's talking about drinking, right?

Speaker 1 (01:07:57):
Breakfast was two BAPs.

Speaker 3 (01:08:00):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:08:00):
Big ass... Well... Big pancakes with sausage on the side
chased by a shot of black belly spiced rum.

Speaker 3 (01:08:09):
Maris, you can't see this, dear listener, but if you're
on the stream, you can. Maris, that high-vis pumpkin outfit
really brings out your eyes.

Speaker 1 (01:08:15):
Keep up the majestic job you're doing.

Speaker 4 (01:08:18):
All right, so let me tell you guys something really quick.

Speaker 2 (01:08:20):
My favorite color is orange. Is it really?

Speaker 4 (01:08:22):
So I'm going to wear some high, lighter orange every
once in a while.

Speaker 2 (01:08:27):
Like the Bears colors.

Speaker 3 (01:08:29):
Right?

Speaker 2 (01:08:29):
Can I hit him?

Speaker 3 (01:08:30):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:08:31):
Can I hit him?

Speaker 1 (01:08:31):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:08:32):
Can I watch him? Yeah. 630 grew up on Atari.

Speaker 4 (01:08:36):
Today, you need a training course on how to play
the latest games. This is true, but they do guide
you through it very gently and make sure you understand
what's going on.

Speaker 1 (01:08:46):
Guide me gently, Corpo Daddy.

Speaker 2 (01:08:48):
This is a great text from my arch nemesis.

Speaker 3 (01:08:52):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (01:08:53):
From the 708 morning pit. You know what Tow Truck
Ken says every day? What? F the Packers all the time.

Speaker 3 (01:08:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:09:00):
I'm with you on that, Ken.

Speaker 1 (01:09:01):
Hell yeah. Let's see what I got.

Speaker 2 (01:09:04):
Oh.

Speaker 3 (01:09:04):
815, trying to get in a song request to end
this awesome morning.

Speaker 1 (01:09:09):
Some awesome guitar would be great. Mr. Crowley? No, because
you said awesome twice.

Speaker 3 (01:09:13):
Oh.

Speaker 1 (01:09:15):
Mix up your vocabulary. We will fulfill your request. Oh, shit.
I love an arbitrary rule.

Speaker 2 (01:09:22):
That's vile. I know. Let's do one more.

Speaker 1 (01:09:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:09:27):
Love from H-Town from the 346. Come to Houston. We
usually have four summers.

Speaker 2 (01:09:34):
My best friend lives in Houston. They're not kidding. I
will absolutely go to Houston. It's been a long time.
And I hear they got great barbecue. I hear they
got great chirping. Chirping. Do you have that ready? Can
you play it again real quick? I can. Give me
a second. So at the White Sox game last night,
there was a guy chirping one of the White Sox pitchers.
And we just like a good chirp. It was pretty funny.
He was making fun of what he was wearing.

Speaker 1 (01:09:56):
We have mirrors in Houston.

Speaker 2 (01:09:57):
We have mirrors in Houston. You saw your pants.

Speaker 1 (01:09:59):
You saw your cleats. And you walked out with that on.
What are you doing?

Speaker 2 (01:10:05):
Oh, it's a great one.

Speaker 1 (01:10:06):
Get your last minute text in 844-955-9550.

Speaker 2 (01:10:08):
That's 844-955-9550. And there's the sugar from Stan's donuts. Oh, God,
it's so good. Are we going to survive these last
20 minutes, Maria?

Speaker 1 (01:10:21):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (01:10:21):
Is Mikey going to keep putting his donut hole up
against the camera on the stream?

Speaker 2 (01:10:25):
I was showing them my donut.

Speaker 1 (01:10:26):
It's really pink.

Speaker 4 (01:10:27):
If you want an inside look on what's happening in
this studio.

Speaker 2 (01:10:31):
Oh my God.

Speaker 1 (01:10:33):
Was it not? That was a pink donut hole.

Speaker 2 (01:10:35):
That was.

Speaker 4 (01:10:36):
Join us on YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok.

Speaker 2 (01:10:43):
Yeah, Twitter, I guess. You can see what's happening. Everything
will be on TikTok starting in two weeks. We'll do
that when Maria gets back from vacation. And then we'll
just apologize in general.

Speaker 1 (01:10:53):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:10:54):
It's a trash bag.

Speaker 1 (01:10:54):
Also for this show, too.

Speaker 2 (01:10:56):
But thank you for being here. We appreciate you guys.
And also sorry. We love you.

Speaker 1 (01:11:03):
Green Day. We like you on the morning, Masha.

Speaker 3 (01:11:05):
We don't care what the killers in Blink-182 and Third
Eye's Lies and Oasis say. We like you. Probably because
we've never toured with you and never will. It does
sound like petty workplace drama.

Speaker 2 (01:11:19):
It does, yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:11:20):
None of it seems real. You know what I mean?

Speaker 4 (01:11:23):
You get those moments where people are either absolutely in
love with each other after the tour or it's just like,
and three, two, I'm out, bye.

Speaker 3 (01:11:30):
Maybe this is a symptom, but I don't feel that
invested in any person that if you're not a murderer
or predator or something of the, or straight up like racist, sexist,
I don't really care.

Speaker 4 (01:11:42):
You know?

Speaker 1 (01:11:43):
Yep. Like, whatever. If you're a lot, then you're a lot.

Speaker 2 (01:11:46):
I'll just go somewhere. I'll just go in a different room.

Speaker 1 (01:11:48):
Like, I don't care.

Speaker 2 (01:11:49):
I'm a lot. I understand.

Speaker 4 (01:11:50):
I think a lot of it probably is tour because
it sounded like these were tour bus touring shows. And
when you have that downtime backstage and it's just like,
I can't be on the bus anymore.

Speaker 2 (01:12:01):
And then, you're here. Yeah. Oh, you're here. The bad blood. Yeah. Well,
we know that in radio a little bit. It'd be awkward.
It would just be awkward, right? Because at the same time,
those dressing rooms, those green rooms, they're not big. And
they're right next to each other. You've got to ask
these people for sure. And sometimes maybe you're sharing one. Right. Oh,
my goodness. Not if you're Blink-182 and Green Day on
the Pop Disaster Tour.

Speaker 3 (01:12:22):
Also, as I always say, whenever people are like, protect
your peace, peace comes from within. So, like, you're going
to have to deal with people that you don't enjoy
all the time because You have to find your own
personal piece with that.

Speaker 2 (01:12:32):
I forget what band it was.

Speaker 4 (01:12:34):
We were doing a show and the manager came up
to us and was like, this is it.

Speaker 2 (01:12:41):
This is the green room. I was like, bro, you
are in Peoria. What were you going to say, Mikey?
I was going to say the pop disaster tour. Wasn't
just a green day and a blink. They did it
with a blink. Did it with no doubt at 1.2.
So we're doing a meet and greet. And I got

(01:13:01):
to meet, that was when I met blink 182, got
a guitar signed. And I heard something going on around
the corner. And it was like outside the building. And
I went to stick my head around the corner. And
right at the exact time I was sticking my head
around the corner, Gwen Stefani was sticking her head around
the corner. And we just bumped. So you kissed? No,
we didn't. But she goes, oh, I'm so sorry. And
I went, oh, my God, you're Gwen Stefani. Because they
were doing a meet and greet like on the kiddie

(01:13:23):
corner to where we were. We just couldn't see. Did
your noses touch? I don't know. It was just our heads,
our foreheads.

Speaker 1 (01:13:28):
Hey, how about that meet and greet with Blink-182? How
were they?

Speaker 2 (01:13:31):
Great yeah they were phenomenal very you met him too
yeah i had a.

Speaker 3 (01:13:34):
Meeting great with them they were class acts i had
my stepdaughter was six years old at the time they
were phenomenal to her mark had like a whole conversation
with her he was like how's school like yada yada
yada travis obviously has his own kids and so like
when it came time to take the photo i let
her do one by herself with just the band of
course and she's just.

Speaker 1 (01:13:53):
All cuddled up into travis.

Speaker 3 (01:13:54):
And he's got his arm around her it's like the
cutest thing ever i because of that i will always
love blink when i do.

Speaker 4 (01:14:00):
Great i had um meet and greet with Papa Roach
at a show. And this guy's acting really, really squirrely.
And he goes up to Jacoby and goes, hey, man,
I'm going to propose to my girlfriend.

Speaker 2 (01:14:14):
You want to help me out? And Jacoby goes, hey.
This guy wants to propose on stage. Dude, be cool.
Can we do it? Oh, no.

Speaker 4 (01:14:24):
And it ended up working out because she knew. Oh, yeah.
It wasn't like a big surprise. He had kind of
talked to her in advance.

Speaker 1 (01:14:33):
A little lack of self-awareness.

Speaker 4 (01:14:35):
And then the manager's just like, oh, we got to
get this meet and greet done with.

Speaker 2 (01:14:39):
Speaking of. of Mr. Shaddix.

Speaker 4 (01:14:42):
We're going to close the show with a little last
resort from Papa Ray as we lead our way into
Walt as we are still commercial free on Rock 95.5.
