Speaker 1 (00:03):
I'm so lonely that I went to church over the
weekend just to get on my knees.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
Wow. I fully thought you were going to say to
meet men. But actually, you know what?
Speaker 3 (00:13):
It tracks.
Speaker 2 (00:14):
Never mind. You did your job.
Speaker 1 (00:15):
I met three men in one.
Speaker 2 (00:17):
Praise be.
Speaker 1 (00:19):
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Speaker 2 (00:20):
Whoa.
Speaker 1 (00:21):
It got freaky. It's the Morning Mosh Pit on Rock 95.5.
Things don't get less sacrilegious from here. My name is
Maria Palmer.
Speaker 2 (00:29):
I'm Marison. I didn't feel the Holy Ghost this weekend.
Speaker 4 (00:32):
I'm Michael, and I can't get Marison's camera to work.
I'm trying to get this to fixate on you.
Speaker 2 (00:38):
While you're doing that, let me just tell you how
much we love you.
Speaker 1 (00:42):
Oh.
Speaker 2 (00:43):
Not only do we still have the Wheel of Rock,
which we are short on tickets, but we still got...
We're short on shows, but we still got a lot
of tickets. We've got Black Label Society. We've got Rob Zombie.
We've got Six Flags, Great America, Four Packs. And there's
this lovely cover band by the name of Ten that's
going to be in town.
Speaker 1 (01:01):
So just.
Speaker 2 (01:01):
Listen, we're giving away stuff constantly, all morning long. That's
a Pearl Jam cover band, by the way. And there's
only one thing I want from Michael right now. Some
of that weather. Yes, please.
Speaker 1 (01:11):
Michael says don't go outside or look out your window.
Speaker 2 (01:14):
It'll ruin the surprise.
Speaker 1 (01:16):
Here's weather. Pick with sunshine today. Don't love that. It's
going to be beautiful. Mostly sunny.
Speaker 2 (01:26):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:27):
And a high of 78.
Speaker 2 (01:27):
Ooh.
Speaker 1 (01:29):
Mid-level humidity.
Speaker 2 (01:30):
Nice.
Speaker 1 (01:30):
Kind of like it was over the weekend. It was
darn nice over the weekend, actually.
Speaker 2 (01:33):
It was a great weekend.
Speaker 1 (01:34):
It was great.
Speaker 4 (01:34):
And then tomorrow looking just like today. Mostly sunny and
a high of 79. Then we're going to get a
few storms in here and there, but... The first couple
days of this week are great.
Speaker 2 (01:41):
Tease me on Thursday. What's happening Thursday?
Speaker 1 (01:43):
Thursday.
Speaker 3 (01:45):
It's looking pretty good.
Speaker 2 (01:46):
Let's see.
Speaker 1 (01:47):
Mostly sunny and some clouds later in the day, but
mostly sunny.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
We got a field trip on Thursday. That's why I'm
concerned about that.
Speaker 1 (01:53):
That's right.
Speaker 2 (01:55):
Well, it'll be overcast probably about that time. That's fine.
That's even better.
Speaker 1 (01:58):
As long as it's not raining.
Speaker 2 (01:58):
For Thursday.
Speaker 1 (01:59):
Thursday, yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:01):
Roger Goodell sent me an email over the weekend. He said,
you know what time of year it almost is. I
got questions for Roger Goodell. Hey, Roger. Let's get to
the beginning of the season, and then I got you.
Speaker 1 (02:10):
My next boyfriend, Roger Goodell.
Speaker 2 (02:13):
Oh, my God.
Speaker 1 (02:14):
Me and Jordan will get along great.
Speaker 4 (02:16):
I was going to say, I feel like you're dating Belichick.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
Oh, okay.
Speaker 4 (02:21):
I got there. Look at her with the reference. The
first name of Bill Belichick's girlfriend.
Speaker 1 (02:26):
I'm actually almost 10 years older than her, but that's fine.
Speaker 2 (02:29):
Are you? Almost. She's 25.
Speaker 1 (02:31):
All right, not quite.
Speaker 4 (02:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:33):
But, like, I'm... Let's focus. Human-robot war is next. Oh,
the war?
Speaker 3 (02:37):
The war! The war!
Speaker 1 (02:38):
We're absolutely gonna take it. We hope. Yeah, we're gonna
take it. Cause we're poor.
Speaker 2 (02:49):
And untouched.
Speaker 1 (02:53):
Maybe we'll soon have a robot for one or both
of those jobs. Either way, it's gonna turn on us
in an inevitable... Human versus robot war.
Speaker 2 (03:03):
News from the front of the inevitable human-robot war.
Speaker 1 (03:07):
AI may be helping students get better grades on homework,
but a new study suggests it could be hurting what
they actually learn. Researchers tracked.
Speaker 2 (03:14):
You think?
Speaker 1 (03:16):
You mean not learn?
Speaker 2 (03:17):
Full study here.
Speaker 1 (03:19):
Researchers tracked more than 26,000 students and found that those
using AI saw homework scores rise 18% while cutting the
time spent on assignments by nearly 30%. The downside showed
up on tests. Within six months, exam scores dropped about
20% among AI users, while college entrance test scores declined
by as much as 24% over time. Researchers say many
(03:43):
students were using AI to complete assignments instead of learning
the material, earning strong homework grades but struggling when AI
wasn't available. However, students who used AI as a tutor
rather than a shortcut saw far fewer negative effects.
Speaker 2 (03:55):
Bing, bing, bing, bing, bing.
Speaker 3 (03:56):
Yep.
Speaker 1 (03:57):
You're not learning.
Speaker 2 (03:58):
I mean, that's the thing. The struggle is how you
learn things. Yeah. The tutoring side of it. That's properly what?
Speaker 4 (04:04):
Toot. You know, in the movie Idiocracy, I always thought,
how did they get that dumb? This might be it.
Speaker 1 (04:11):
What were you going to say there?
Speaker 2 (04:12):
I'm so sorry. Thanks for opening the door for Idiocracy. Well, listen.
Speaker 4 (04:16):
First of all, the toot. In that movie, they famously
have the toilets built into the couch so you never
have to leave your television set.
Speaker 1 (04:24):
Oh, that sounds nice.
Speaker 4 (04:24):
Everybody's really dumb in the movie. And I'm thinking, boy,
if you didn't, if we didn't learn, right, if we
weren't learning, if, and, and what we've seen is schools
are passing people who can't read stuff like that. What
you're now, what you're going to have is you're gonna
start having these generations that are way or way lower, uh,
intelligence levels than we've seen in decades are here.
Speaker 1 (04:47):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (04:47):
I don't know if you saw all the teachers on
social media who are got introduced to their senior class
that can't read or write or comprehend properly.
Speaker 1 (04:56):
We are farmers. Imagine the chill in the air.
Speaker 3 (05:02):
No.
Speaker 4 (05:12):
German brats and drinks and all kinds of delicious stuff.
Speaker 3 (05:17):
That, yes.
Speaker 4 (05:17):
Christmas time. Three different locations this year for the Christkindl Market.
Speaker 3 (05:22):
Oh.
Speaker 1 (05:23):
I'm so excited.
Speaker 2 (05:24):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (05:25):
I tried to go last year, but I was a
little late over at Wrigleyville, where they're having it again
this year. Gallagher Way, going to be one of the locations.
Monday through Thursdays, 3 to 9 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays,
11 a.m. till 9 p.m. I still think in Wrigleyville,
that is early to close. You should leave that thing
open till 11. People are out running around in the
Christmas bars.
Speaker 2 (05:43):
This is a family market there, sir.
Speaker 1 (05:45):
Not after nine, baby.
Speaker 3 (05:46):
Let's go.
Speaker 1 (05:48):
Bust out the bratwurst. Oh, my God. In public?
Speaker 2 (05:51):
It's going to bust out for sure.
Speaker 1 (05:53):
I'll go.
Speaker 4 (05:54):
Yeah, they have announced that there's three locations this year,
including one in the suburbs, of course. Downtown Chicago. They
got the one where, what is that called?
Speaker 1 (06:02):
The Plaza. Daily Plaza.
Speaker 2 (06:04):
Yeah. You got Wrigleyville.
Speaker 1 (06:05):
And then Aurora.
Speaker 3 (06:06):
Where?
Speaker 2 (06:06):
In the suburbs, or is it Aurora?
Speaker 4 (06:08):
It says Aurora. 360 North Broadway in Aurora. That one
Thursdays goes till seven Fridays and Saturdays till nine Sundays
till six.
Speaker 1 (06:17):
But going to be good times, man. I'm excited.
Speaker 2 (06:18):
I like I said, I didn't make it out last year.
Speaker 1 (06:20):
Well, because I think they put limits. Something about last
year was crazy.
Speaker 2 (06:24):
They started with the limits and then they were like, yes,
isn't going to work.
Speaker 1 (06:26):
Oh, did they already get rid of them?
Speaker 2 (06:28):
I'm pretty sure because it quietly went away and everybody
kind of stopped complaining.
Speaker 5 (06:31):
Really?
Speaker 3 (06:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (06:32):
That's really funny. And you're talking about people limits, like
they were holding so it didn't get too crowded.
Speaker 2 (06:36):
They were trying to limit it to a certain number
because it's already crowded. Yeah. It's beyond crazy. But then
the lines got obnoxiously longer. So, yeah.
Speaker 1 (06:45):
I remember we had a whole conversation about it last
year because I was like, put it in Grant Park.
Speaker 2 (06:50):
Yeah. Well, I don't understand why. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (06:52):
There's no reason to have. No.
Speaker 2 (06:54):
Grant Park is still recovering from mud. That's true.
Speaker 1 (06:57):
By the time the market. We don't know.
Speaker 4 (06:59):
You could do it on this side of Grant Park, though,
over closer to the, you know, Millennium Plaza and all
that stuff, I would think. And then you could just
have a bigger area because I agree. My beef about
this is, is that it's crowded as hell in there.
And then even when you get inside, you've got to
wait 20 minutes to get a food.
Speaker 1 (07:14):
Or a drink. I almost don't care that much as
long as I can get in.
Speaker 3 (07:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (07:18):
Once I'm in, I don't really mind about those lines
because you're also, everyone's in a good mood. It's a
great time to meet new people.
Speaker 4 (07:24):
Listen to the music. Do you know what's going on
right now? Did you see, I was at Navy Pier
last night, walked down for some ice cream.
Speaker 1 (07:31):
Leaves are changing. Leaves are changing.
Speaker 2 (07:34):
He just cut it. Handcrafted ornaments, nutcrackers. What's the warm
wine called?
Speaker 1 (07:40):
Mulled wine. My absolute favorite. I need to get mulled.
Speaker 4 (07:45):
Same.
Speaker 1 (07:46):
I'm going to whine about it until it happens. Get
out the brats. There's three spots to enjoy at this Christmas. Damn.
Speaker 2 (07:55):
You know what? Since we're in such a festive mood, 844-955-9550.
Let's give away a pair of tickets to 10, the
Pearl Jam Tribute Band over at House of Blues. Of course, Michael,
you're going to be there. I'll be there. That's Saturday,
August 29th. That's this weekend.
Speaker 1 (08:12):
I'm so excited.
Speaker 3 (08:13):
Wow.
Speaker 4 (08:14):
By the way, I've seen these guys before. I was
I was running around a lake and I ran behind
the stage where they were playing. It was like some
community event. I thought Pearl Jam was on stage. I
stopped my run. I walked around to check. That's how
good they sound. They sound exactly like Pearl Jam.
Speaker 2 (08:28):
Love to hear it. Eight, four, four, nine, five, five,
ninety five, fifty. Be call it in to get your tickets.
Everybody else go get your tickets at Ticketmaster.com. All thanks
to our friends. Over at Live Nation and PlayStation, you dirty, dirty, dirty.
Speaker 1 (08:43):
What?
Speaker 2 (08:43):
I can't stand you, PlayStation. This is the biggest troll
of all time. I'll talk about it next in Nerd News.
Speaker 1 (08:49):
It's time to dork out.
Speaker 3 (08:51):
Dork.
Speaker 2 (08:53):
There is a PlayStation blackout that is in day two
as PlayStation fans are not playing, not downloading, not buying
for a straight week to protest PlayStation coming out earlier
this year and saying they were going to end physical
media starting in 2028. Everybody is very upset at this and. PlayStation,
(09:16):
on the greatest of troll jobs, has sent out new
terms and conditions. As people coming back from this blackout
will find out very quickly, quote, quote, the software is
licensed to you, not sold. That includes digital and physical media.
Speaker 3 (09:34):
Get rekt.
Speaker 2 (09:35):
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and personal license
to play or use the software for your private, non-commercial
use on the system or device it was intended for. Okay.
They are not backing down.
Speaker 4 (09:52):
No.
Speaker 1 (09:52):
Matter of fact, they stood up taller. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (09:56):
Because I know I had to re-sign terms and agreements
like a month ago. And then now they're doubling down
on this again. I am bewildered that PlayStation, making all
of its money off of its fans, not listening to
its fans.
Speaker 3 (10:14):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (10:15):
What?
Speaker 4 (10:16):
Top Sony executives make somewhere around $ 5 to $ 17 million apiece.
Speaker 1 (10:19):
Yeah, they don't have to care. They're priced out of caring.
Speaker 2 (10:21):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (10:23):
They're priced out of caring. Literally.
Speaker 2 (10:24):
So rich they don't give a damn.
Speaker 1 (10:26):
That's like all of them at this point. Every head
of every industry does not have to care about people anymore.
Speaker 2 (10:31):
It's so interesting for me because along with this, I
know they're trying to talk about a PS6 launch in
a few years. No, absolutely not.
Speaker 1 (10:42):
I can't wait to go buy an Xbox 360 from
wherever I get it from and go buy the games
and buy a controller.
Speaker 2 (10:51):
It's setting up Nintendo. It's setting up Xbox and even
Steam Deck as well. And if somebody else wants to
come out and make physical media that people want, now's
the time to do it.
Speaker 1 (11:03):
Yeah, I'm going to get that.
Speaker 2 (11:03):
PlayStation's about to leave a whole door open on this one.
Let's check in with Nintendo real quick.
Speaker 1 (11:08):
It's a Mario. Okay, well, that's great.
Speaker 3 (11:11):
All right, sorry.
Speaker 4 (11:11):
Nintendo's over there just having a good time. Just bouncing
around with Yoshi.
Speaker 2 (11:14):
Because Nintendo said the same thing. And then they pulled
it back and gave their people what they wanted.
Speaker 1 (11:21):
Which makes sense.
Speaker 3 (11:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (11:23):
That's how you make money.
Speaker 1 (11:24):
God, pull back, pull out, just pull it off.
Speaker 2 (11:30):
We are the Morning Mosh Pit on Rock 95.5. A
new trend is showing that people are naming their kids
after weapons.
Speaker 1 (11:38):
Awesome.
Speaker 2 (11:39):
Go on. Yes.
Speaker 1 (11:41):
Like how? This my son Bolt. This his rifle. My
daughter Recoil.
Speaker 2 (11:48):
The noticed trend has seen a step away from the
Jadens of the world. Gunner, Wesson, Caliber, Shooter. Trigger, Blade, Cannon, Remington, Beretta, Colt, Ruger, Winchester, Arson, Cutter,
and Dagger have seen a rise in boy names.
Speaker 1 (12:12):
Mom, Dad, I've met someone. His name is Dagger.
Speaker 2 (12:19):
Get out of my house.
Speaker 1 (12:20):
Can't wait for 9mm Mason. Come here, little rocket-propelled grenade.
How about biological warfare?
Speaker 2 (12:30):
Can we go that route?
Speaker 4 (12:30):
Sure.
Speaker 1 (12:30):
Can I name my child Anthrax?
Speaker 2 (12:32):
Oh, my God. He'd be so cool.
Speaker 1 (12:35):
Come here, smallpox blanket.
Speaker 2 (12:38):
Maverick ranks the highest of them all, but that's obvious.
I think Maverick's been kind of a cool name for
a little while. They've also noticed the cowboy-style names like Dutton, Stetson,
and Boom. are climbing the charts these days.
Speaker 4 (12:53):
Boom is kind of cute, actually.
Speaker 2 (12:55):
Your little boy's named Boom.
Speaker 1 (12:56):
My child Robert Redford from the Horse Whisperer.
Speaker 2 (13:00):
Robert Redford from the Horse Whisperer Palmer.
Speaker 1 (13:05):
Yeah, there's a lot of hyphens.
Speaker 2 (13:06):
There's my daughter Hollow Point. Oh no, these are all
boy names. I mean, if you name your daughter Caliber.
Speaker 1 (13:18):
That's kind of actually Cali. That could work, if you're weird.
Speaker 2 (13:22):
Essentially, you're giving everybody an instant nickname here. You're not.
Speaker 1 (13:28):
Hello, my child exit plan.
Speaker 3 (13:32):
Wow.
Speaker 4 (13:34):
I used to know a guy named Magnum. So there's that.
Speaker 1 (13:38):
Magnum. I bet he wasn't a Magnum either. So you
named my kid AR, but then the number's going to
change according to age.
Speaker 3 (13:45):
AR7.
Speaker 2 (13:45):
I like that.
Speaker 4 (13:46):
844-955-9550.
Speaker 2 (13:46):
Have you noticed anything? Have your children introduced you to
Gunner or Dagger or Arson?
Speaker 1 (13:59):
In Germany, they're like, this is my child, Panza.
Speaker 2 (14:01):
Because if your kid's name is Arson, he ain't coming
in my house. I'm not cooking for him.
Speaker 1 (14:07):
He ain't getting no food.
Speaker 2 (14:08):
He ain't getting no juice box.
Speaker 1 (14:09):
Dagger either. All of you out. But Daddy, I love him.
I bet you do.
Speaker 2 (14:15):
No, you don't. We will find you a nice jade.
He daggers me.
Speaker 3 (14:17):
All right.
Speaker 1 (14:18):
Speaking of Hancock, that's about the only pairing that we're
going to get here on the Morning Mosh Pit because
dating apps are not working for us on Rock 95.5.
Speaker 2 (14:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (14:27):
However, plot twist, new survey found that 22% of professionals
have sent or answered a romantic message on LinkedIn. And
12% successfully sparked a relationship that started on the site.
Speaker 2 (14:41):
10% ain't bad.
Speaker 1 (14:43):
Do I need to get on LinkedIn?
Speaker 2 (14:45):
Are you not already? Nope.
Speaker 1 (14:47):
Oh, yeah. What aren't you on? Have you done Facebook dating?
I found that to be kind of effective. I don't
want Zuckerberg in my love life.
Speaker 2 (14:53):
That's true. You know? Yeah.
Speaker 1 (14:54):
He's not. That guy's not... Especially on a site that
started as a way to compare women on the Harvard campus.
I forgot about that.
Speaker 4 (15:02):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (15:03):
Originally. I cannot imagine. It was like a hot or not.
Speaker 3 (15:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (15:06):
And still getting degraded.
Speaker 2 (15:08):
Wait, wait, wait, wait. The man that has the original
technology to help you find a date.
Speaker 1 (15:13):
That's a genius. Okay. So I don't know how you're
hearing that.
Speaker 2 (15:16):
From hot or not.
Speaker 1 (15:19):
But maybe this is the only miscommunication that's happening widespread.
Speaker 4 (15:24):
Um, but they would be focused about if they're on LinkedIn,
they would be focused on their career.
Speaker 2 (15:27):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (15:27):
You know, they have a job. I'm focused on my career.
I avoid LinkedIn like the plague.
Speaker 2 (15:32):
And then you can, you can, um, you know, you
do your snooping. It's already there for you. You know
where they work, how long they've been there, what they've
been doing, how they've elevated their career.
Speaker 1 (15:41):
Yeah. Unfortunately, LinkedIn does have an anti-flirting policy. So all
these people are breaking the rules. Well, that's the fun
of it. Tell me I can't flirt. Tell me I
can't do something. But here's my other thing, though. Doesn't
LinkedIn tell you when someone has looked at your profile
and it tells you who that is?
Speaker 2 (16:00):
Yes, there's your flirt.
Speaker 1 (16:02):
Done and done.
Speaker 2 (16:02):
It's like a poke without having to do anything.
Speaker 1 (16:04):
No, there's people seeing my mom looking at their profile
and being like, hmm, Ellen Palmer.
Speaker 4 (16:10):
Damn.
Speaker 1 (16:11):
I wonder if there's any relation. And I'm like, no,
we have the same face, but that's beside the point, man.
Speaker 2 (16:19):
You really think people would dive that deep to go
and find your entire family and just scope you out
like that on LinkedIn?
Speaker 1 (16:24):
No, but I do think that if I mention a
man to my mom and he is on LinkedIn, she
is going to go search for his profile and it's
going to show Ellen Palmer.
Speaker 2 (16:32):
You guys are exactly the same.
Speaker 1 (16:35):
Nice to see you.
Speaker 2 (16:36):
Oh, yeah.
Speaker 1 (16:36):
She is who I get my personality from. You'll meet
her at some point and you'll be like, Oh, that's
what happened.
Speaker 3 (16:41):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (16:41):
I mean, it's just like you want to make a contact,
quote unquote. But, you know, you can find somebody that
is good in marketing.
Speaker 4 (16:49):
Well, and braggers will be on there, right? I feel
like LinkedIn is a place where you go to, like,
list all of your accomplishments and tell everybody how great
you're doing.
Speaker 1 (16:57):
That's why I'm not on it.
Speaker 3 (16:58):
Word.
Speaker 1 (16:59):
Don't got any of those.
Speaker 2 (17:00):
You got so many accomplishments, Maria. Yeah. You made it
to work today.
Speaker 3 (17:04):
Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (17:05):
You woke up.
Speaker 2 (17:06):
I mean, think about that.
Speaker 4 (17:07):
We get down on ourselves a lot, but in reality,
we're so lucky to just be alive today.
Speaker 2 (17:11):
You have two friends that kind of think highly of you.
Speaker 1 (17:14):
You're a pretty woman. Careful.
Speaker 2 (17:19):
Well, not that. We just took our training in LinkedIn.
LinkedIn doesn't allow that kind of flirting, Michael.
Speaker 1 (17:23):
She's a good-looking person.
Speaker 2 (17:25):
All right.
Speaker 1 (17:26):
Golly. But I got to say, though, gentlemen, no. I
really enjoy these toddler compliments, and I would like them
way more often. I want to pat on the back
for finishing all my lunch.
Speaker 2 (17:38):
You're doing such a good job, Maria.
Speaker 1 (17:40):
Thank you.
Speaker 4 (17:41):
Hey, everybody on the YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, all of our
chats and our videos that are up today, everybody let
Maria know she's doing a good job.
Speaker 1 (17:47):
The phone number to call in, 844-955-9550. And while you're
at it, tell Maris he's doing a good job. You could.
Speaker 2 (17:53):
Maris is doing a great job today, too. Here's the thing.
If you tell me I'm doing a good job, you will.
We're not friends anymore. I want Maria.
Speaker 1 (18:02):
I want to take a compliment.
Speaker 2 (18:03):
I want the focus to be on the woman of
the room. Maria works so hard and she needs to
be reminded that we kind of care.
Speaker 1 (18:12):
I only want to be like congratulated for waking up
from a nap and not being cranky.
Speaker 4 (18:17):
You're doing great. Maria bolt action Palmer. You're killing it today.
Speaker 1 (18:22):
Bolt action. Let's go.
Speaker 2 (18:25):
Maria and I went to TNA Lockdown last night. We'll
give you a full recap of how everything went down.
Speaker 1 (18:32):
Handcuffs were involved.
Speaker 2 (18:36):
We are the Morning Mosh Pit and sometimes we go outside.
Maria and I made our way over to TNA Lockdown
over at Credit Union 1 Arena at UIC. Not the pavilion.
amphitheater thing.
Speaker 1 (18:50):
To be clear, still technically inside. But we did go
outside by leaving our house for a second.
Speaker 2 (18:55):
Okay, logic queen. I'm just saying. Yeah, how did you
like your first wrestling event, Maria?
Speaker 1 (18:59):
Loved it.
Speaker 2 (19:01):
What's your favorite part?
Speaker 1 (19:04):
Hot dog.
Speaker 2 (19:05):
Okay, yeah. A hot dog?
Speaker 1 (19:07):
Oh, I got a hot dog. Did you get a
hot dog? Oh, maybe you want a hot dog real bad.
Speaker 2 (19:11):
Before we dive in on the arena, the wrestling event
was fantastic.
Speaker 1 (19:15):
Yes.
Speaker 2 (19:16):
It was a lockdown, all cage matches throughout the entire night.
And I got to say... TNA brought it from beginning
to end. Every match was different in a way that
had you enticed and kept you looking and wanting more.
And they kept giving us more. Just when I was like, oh,
(19:36):
they're not going to jump and do that. Oh, my God,
they jumped and did that. It was like, what's he
going to do with that guitar? Oh, my God, he
hit it with the guitar.
Speaker 1 (19:44):
He's going to smash it on the other guys.
Speaker 2 (19:46):
And Maria, I will say that you left a little
bit too early because there was a big lockdown match.
Let me see what they called it. The Lethal Lockdown.
It was a four-on-four. Not only were they in the cage,
but there were... chairs there were kendo sticks there were
barbed wire bats there was a barbed wire table there
was a table did i say chairs and it was
just a bloody mess and it was so fun to
(20:11):
watch and it was just like how am i gonna
get keep track of all the action happening over here
amazing absolutely amazing great cinema yeah great cinema yeah uh
shout out to mustafa ali who uh won yesterday who's
in the studio just a few days ago but maria
you have a gripe with the arena Do I?
Speaker 1 (20:28):
That sounds like I do.
Speaker 2 (20:30):
I mean, I think I have a gripe, too.
Speaker 1 (20:32):
I'd like to hear yours first. What's a gripe? I
didn't get to go.
Speaker 2 (20:35):
What are we griping about? The arena only has two
concession stands.
Speaker 1 (20:40):
In the whole arena? That is the gripe.
Speaker 2 (20:42):
That's fair.
Speaker 1 (20:43):
I was like, I don't know what it is. It
took me, like, what? Would you say 40 minutes to get?
Speaker 2 (20:48):
40 minutes easily because you missed two matches of wrestling.
Speaker 1 (20:52):
And it.
Speaker 2 (20:53):
I get it. It's built that way. You can't really
change too much about it.
Speaker 1 (20:57):
No, you could.
Speaker 4 (20:58):
You could put in some roll-in concessions. That was a
great deal over the weekend. There's concessions everywhere.
Speaker 2 (21:05):
Actually, you're right. You could have had a heater cart
that had some pre-wrapped... You could have a hot dog vendor.
A hot dog vendor. It just... For the amount of
time that I saw people standing in line, dedicated and committed.
Because when you went, had the line gone down at
all or was it still just as long?
Speaker 1 (21:21):
Just as long, yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (21:22):
It never went down.
Speaker 1 (21:23):
It didn't ever get a chance to. Is this their
first time doing something at this arena?
Speaker 3 (21:27):
No.
Speaker 2 (21:27):
It just happens like that. Oh, okay. It's just one
of those things where I know you have your built-in infrastructure.
And they had plenty of beer stands out.
Speaker 3 (21:36):
Plenty.
Speaker 4 (21:36):
Plenty.
Speaker 2 (21:37):
Yes. I could find a drink.
Speaker 1 (21:38):
Beer was easy peasy.
Speaker 2 (21:39):
Every 10 feet there was a beer stand and there
was another guy standing around and I was like, get
that man some hot dogs. Some foil wrapped hot dogs
and some mustard and sell them hot dogs.
Speaker 3 (21:49):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (21:50):
They should have just like baseball game did.
Speaker 4 (21:52):
Pope Cody on YouTube says there's a whole square in
the middle of that place. Just put a deep fryer
in and do some Oreos.
Speaker 2 (21:58):
Let's go.
Speaker 1 (21:59):
Truly. That would have sold out, too. On the bright
side of standing in line for 40 minutes, I got
to meet you, dear listener.
Speaker 2 (22:05):
Absolutely. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (22:06):
And I love that, by the way. Always come up
and say hi.
Speaker 4 (22:09):
Always.
Speaker 1 (22:09):
It's not weird.
Speaker 2 (22:10):
Don't shy away from it.
Speaker 4 (22:12):
I know the feeling because I feel that way when
I see certain celebrities. And I always think in my head,
I wish that someone would just walk up, you know.
It's more awkward if you stand off at a distance
and kind of stare. Like I went out to that
car show. Because we know this is the thing. There
was a kid following me around the car show. And
shout out to you, dude. It's totally cool. But he
was on a bike and he was filming me the
whole time. I was just walking around the car show
and he's just circling me and filming. And I was like,
(22:33):
this feels weird.
Speaker 1 (22:34):
I actually had no idea who you were.
Speaker 2 (22:35):
He was not your friend.
Speaker 1 (22:38):
I can't wait to see that footage on a website.
Although I will say at the very beginning, I did
show up a little bit hella stoned. And so the
first guy that said hi to me, I was like, hi,
you're great. And then I was like, I don't know
how to end this interaction. So I was like, okay.
Speaker 2 (22:52):
That was Jemai. Shout out Jemai.
Speaker 1 (22:54):
And then I just kind of turned. I accidentally called
him John. It was a mess.
Speaker 2 (22:58):
Almost close.
Speaker 4 (23:03):
Man, big shout out to everybody out at the big
Motley Crue show over the weekend. Tinley Park was packed
and Motley Crue was rocking out there. Rock 95.5 Chicago's
Rock Station. Time for some rock news. you got it
baby i can't talk unless my music starts happy monday
uh let's start here fred durst just had a birthday
(23:24):
happy birthday to him he turned 56 on august 20th
uh then hopped on instagram to put out a video
thanking the fans for the birthday wishes and then he
went on to say this.
Speaker 6 (23:34):
Yeah i don't know getting older is definitely weird but
uh it's cool too at the same time you know
old school soldier vibes I do know that we are
not alone, and pay attention, aliens are real.
Speaker 4 (23:50):
What? Is Fred just doing drugs again? That was very
broken apart and weird. Is there any proof? Or is
he just saying that we're not alone? Oh, well, there's
lots of proof, Maris. Let me explain something to you.
The government is actually holding four different types of.
Speaker 2 (24:02):
All right.
Speaker 1 (24:03):
Follow-up question. Old school soldier vibes?
Speaker 4 (24:07):
How?
Speaker 1 (24:08):
In what way?
Speaker 2 (24:09):
I think he just made up a slew of words there.
Speaker 1 (24:11):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (24:12):
I prefer buffalo soldier vibes.
Speaker 1 (24:14):
Fred Durst's Stolen Valor 2026.
Speaker 4 (24:16):
This is not a new lane for him, by the way.
He narrated the 2023 UFO documentary, The Lost Century. So
he's been with Tom DeLonge on this for a long time.
Speaker 3 (24:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (24:26):
And speaking of fun and interesting things, the Foo Fighters
playing a big show in L.A. with the Philharmonic over
the weekend. And just this is the kind of thing
that gives you goosebumps.
Speaker 2 (24:36):
Maris, just hit it. This sounds amazing. Yeah. It's like
(24:57):
10 people up there harmonizing.
Speaker 3 (24:58):
It's a little hard to hear in the audio.
Speaker 1 (25:10):
Well, this definitely sounds like bootleg audio. God damn it.
I mean, it's from a phone. I bet it's awesome. No, it.
Speaker 2 (25:18):
I go, go look it up online. There is some, uh,
some better recordings that you can find out there, but
what they need to do is they need to, um,
hopefully have it all recorded.
Speaker 5 (25:25):
So they can release, give me a live album of this.
I'll pay them money for it. I saw the Foo Fighters.
They did a tour with an orchestra years ago. And, uh,
I was so excited to go. Cause this is exactly
what I wanted. I was thinking I'll play ever long
with an orchestra. You know, they played no hits.
Speaker 3 (25:43):
Oh.
Speaker 2 (25:44):
And I was so disappointed.
Speaker 3 (25:45):
Really? Oh, yeah.
Speaker 2 (25:45):
He told a bunch of funny stories, though, because it
was Dave on, like, a stool.
Speaker 3 (25:49):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (25:49):
You know, but it was good, but that sounded incredible. Anyway,
more videos, more concert calendars, everything you need up now
for all the news and the concert calendar. Just head
over to rock955. com.
Speaker 1 (26:00):
Now, here's a bit-only plug with Maris. Plug it.
Speaker 5 (26:03):
844-955-9550.
Speaker 2 (26:09):
It's time for Pit Happens. We're going to put you
in a pituation where your goal is not to get
kicked out, tossed out, thrown out, or bounced out by security.
With tickets to Black Label Society up for grabs as
they'll be at the Aragon Ballroom on Saturday, September 12th.
I'm your pitmaster, and wouldn't you know, we're going back
over to Credit Union 1 Arena. As we just had
(26:31):
fun over at Lockdown yesterday. Maria's first time out at
a wrestling event. My first wrestling pay-per-view event. It was
a great time. Thanks for TNA for having us out there. 844-955-9550.
Be caller 10 if you want to join in on
the fun. Great tickets up for grabs as we've just
(26:53):
got a bevy full of tickets. Let's go to the
phones right now. Rock 95.5. Who are we speaking with?
Speaker 1 (27:01):
Andy, how are you doing.
Speaker 2 (27:04):
My man? Thanks for joining us in Pit Happens. Up
for grabs, you've got a pair of black label society tickets.
Bigger than anything, we don't want you to get kicked out,
tossed out, thrown out, or bounced out by security. My man,
are you ready to play?
Speaker 1 (27:22):
I am ready.
Speaker 2 (27:23):
All right, let's get it. All right, so as we heard,
lockdown was a great and successful wrestling event yesterday. And
you get a little hungry when you're out. So as
we are all out together, Maria so graciously volunteers to
jump into the very long food line so that we
can get some nibbles while we enjoy some wrestling. Maria's
(27:46):
gone for a little while, and we're all very concerned.
But Maria... Michael. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (27:54):
Yeah, I'm ready.
Speaker 2 (27:54):
Thank you. Maria. Yeah. And she's making her way back
and we got a little bit of everything. She's walking
back so confidently with two trays filled with food for
all of us and like watching a train wreck in
slow motion. The drunk homie is barreling up the stairs
(28:17):
because he's got some issues going on right now and
he Knocks Maria down. Now, my man, you are the
hungriest of all. And before security even gets close, what
are you doing to my man that knocked over Maria?
(28:38):
You're going to put him in a chokehold. I like that.
All right, all right. Got the 20-sided dice here.
Speaker 1 (28:43):
20's good, one is bad.
Speaker 3 (28:44):
Here we go.
Speaker 6 (28:44):
Security comes and takes him out.
Speaker 2 (28:46):
Yes, you're subduing the guy. Oh, that's a five.
Speaker 1 (28:50):
Oh, sub done. Sub done.
Speaker 2 (28:52):
So he's drunk, but he happens to also be a
former wrestler himself, so he gets out of the chokehold
very quickly and pushes you to the side. Michael, how
are you helping our girl Maria right now?
Speaker 4 (29:02):
Well, I just saw this move online. Someone did it
at the White Sox game over the weekend. It's jump
from five rows up and do a swing kick.
Speaker 1 (29:10):
Oh, yes. A swing kick. All right.
Speaker 2 (29:12):
Let's see how this goes. Shut it down with a kick.
That's a two.
Speaker 1 (29:16):
All right.
Speaker 2 (29:17):
Well, in your condition, nothing's working. Jump five rows down.
He does swing that kick, but he misses everybody. It's
a swing and a miss.
Speaker 1 (29:27):
Maria. Right on my butt.
Speaker 2 (29:28):
How are you saving the situation for the team? Well.
Speaker 1 (29:32):
I am getting whatever food remains that hasn't fully fallen
on the ground and gotten squished and just slipping under
everyone's legs. getting out of the fray alright and here
we go I'm just going to bring the food to you.
Speaker 2 (29:47):
Oh, you're scooping the dirty food off the floor.
Speaker 1 (29:49):
No, I said the good salvageable food.
Speaker 6 (29:51):
Oh, my.
Speaker 1 (29:51):
Can you listen?
Speaker 2 (29:52):
Roll the dice. The food off the floor.
Speaker 1 (29:55):
Oh, dear listener. Oh, that's an 18.
Speaker 3 (29:58):
Boom.
Speaker 1 (29:58):
Right out of the chute. Here's your food. That's all
it took. She smoothed it over.
Speaker 2 (30:01):
I found a hair in my hot dog, Maria. Yeah,
but with a 40-minute wait to get more food, you're
eating that dog.
Speaker 1 (30:07):
I believe it was Socrates, if not Mick Jagger, who
said you can't always get what you want.
Speaker 2 (30:12):
I'm just going to starve and have another beer. But,
my man, you are all good to go. You're heading
over to Black Label Society September 12th, right around the corner, strangely,
over at Aragon Ballroom. Who do you plan on taking
with you to this one? Probably going to have to
be my wife. There you go. Shout out to your wife.
What's her name really quick? Lisa. Lisa, shout out to you.
(30:37):
And congratulations for everybody else. Go ahead and get your
tickets over at Ticketmaster.com. All thanks to our friends from
Live Nation.
Speaker 3 (30:44):
On Rock 95.5.
Speaker 1 (30:44):
Mm-hmm.
Speaker 3 (30:45):
Brr.
Speaker 4 (30:49):
Rock 95.5, Chicago's rock station. I had to clear my
mouth and my throat. Sydney Sweeney back in the news.
This is phenomenal. You know how she started a whole
lingerie company? Have you seen her videos?
Speaker 2 (31:03):
It was a great launch video. Great marketing. Promoting herself.
Speaker 1 (31:06):
Yeah, you both launched that. Yeah, absolutely.
Speaker 2 (31:09):
Well, it's failing. Sales have fallen well short of expectations.
Speaker 1 (31:13):
That's crazy. She seemed like such an entrepreneur.
Speaker 4 (31:15):
After the initial hype, an insider called the situation, quote,
a disaster, saying the team assumed Sweeney's personal brand would
drive ongoing sellouts, but her saleability is waning.
Speaker 2 (31:25):
Saleability? Are you saying she's not marketable? Well, here's the problem.
Speaker 1 (31:28):
What personal brand?
Speaker 6 (31:30):
Go ahead, Maria.
Speaker 1 (31:31):
What is her personal brand? I don't know. anything about
Sidney Sweeney other than the rack.
Speaker 2 (31:37):
She's an actress. Actress. Have you heard of, what's that show?
Speaker 1 (31:40):
Tell me one other thing about Sidney Sweeney.
Speaker 2 (31:44):
Euphoria.
Speaker 3 (31:45):
No.
Speaker 1 (31:46):
Other than the fact that she's an actor.
Speaker 2 (31:48):
She's blonde.
Speaker 1 (31:50):
Blue eyes.
Speaker 2 (31:51):
He answered the question. Dresses really well.
Speaker 1 (31:53):
One thing about her character. She's friendly. Do you know that?
Maybe from what I've seen. Maris, name one thing about
Sidney Sweeney.
Speaker 2 (32:04):
She did an amazing job in Madam Web.
Speaker 1 (32:09):
Okay, so I said it can't be about acting.
Speaker 3 (32:11):
All right.
Speaker 1 (32:11):
So that's my point exactly. There's nothing about it.
Speaker 2 (32:14):
I don't know anything about these actors.
Speaker 1 (32:16):
Who did have a successful lingerie line? Rihanna did. You
know why? Because I can tell you eight different things
about Rihanna just because of her vibe. She's a badass.
She's incredibly talented.
Speaker 2 (32:27):
Same with Sydney.
Speaker 1 (32:27):
She's confident.
Speaker 2 (32:28):
Same with Sydney.
Speaker 1 (32:29):
You don't know anything about Sydney, sweetie.
Speaker 6 (32:31):
I know.
Speaker 4 (32:32):
Everything about Sydney.
Speaker 1 (32:32):
You don't know a goddamn thing.
Speaker 2 (32:33):
You're saying Sydney's not confident?
Speaker 4 (32:36):
You're pretty goddamn confident to me in this new season
of Euphoria.
Speaker 2 (32:40):
I wouldn't know anything about Sydney. Are you just not
a fan like we are?
Speaker 1 (32:45):
I would say that that's an accurate description.
Speaker 3 (32:48):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (32:48):
I'm certainly not a fan like you guys are.
Speaker 2 (32:50):
You know, there's a lot to learn out there. I'd
love to.
Speaker 1 (32:52):
Learn about actual Sydney Sweeney. Instead, what's happened is she's
got lifted up because of.
Speaker 2 (32:58):
That lift up rack. Some people have to make some
pretty big mistakes so that they can learn to be
better with their marketing and business and everything else that
she does. Wow.
Speaker 1 (33:10):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (33:11):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (33:12):
There is definitely a point to my sentence. But anyway.
Speaker 4 (33:14):
That's called a period. Well, this is kind of interesting, though.
And obviously lingerie is different.
Speaker 2 (33:21):
I'm moving on.
Speaker 4 (33:23):
When she was working with American Eagle, their stock went
up 77 percent.
Speaker 2 (33:27):
That seems marketable. That's all.
Speaker 4 (33:29):
Well, here's what here's my thing. And I've thought this
since the beginning of her lingerie thing. One, she's not
like a normal woman. Most women are not built like her.
And whenever she's marketing this, she's marketing it with these
huge boobs. And to me, her audience is more male.
right so to try to sell things to women when
you are that look of am i am i no
(33:49):
you're right yeah okay i i don't think it would
work i just even from the beginning i was like
sure she's kind of marketable but are women gonna no
buying her stuff.
Speaker 1 (33:58):
Women are probably tired of hearing about yeah from their
100 and if she if she started a boxer brief.
Speaker 4 (34:04):
Company that yeah for girls guys it would sell like
crazy because guys would be buying it too Yeah, that's true, too.
Speaker 1 (34:10):
You know, Sydney, hit me up. I got some ideas,
business propositions for you. She actually has a restraining order
if you want to. Oh, I know, I know.
Speaker 2 (34:16):
Don't worry, I can speak for Michael. 844-955-9550. Please find us, Sydney.
Speaker 1 (34:23):
We are Chicago's Corporate Speak Rock Station on Rock 95.5,
and that is our mentally ill mocha-lotive. Mocha-lotive. Hee hee!
Speaker 2 (34:33):
Are you sure you're not the ill one of Mocha Loaded?
Speaker 6 (34:36):
No.
Speaker 1 (34:37):
This is a crazy train, I'll tell you that. Mocha
Loaded on Rock 95.5. Anyway, boys, what are we doing? Sports!
Oh my god, I need to stop talking.
Speaker 2 (34:47):
We had some preseason football over the weekend. I don't
know if you want to write home about it.
Speaker 1 (34:52):
Caleb on the field, though.
Speaker 2 (34:53):
Yeah, we got the starters on the field. It looked
like preseason football. Some good throws, some bad throws. And
you know what? I'm not going to hold Caleb Williams
to what happened in the game. I'm interested to see
this left tackle battle and how it all falls out
because they're holding five right now. um and i'll be
interested to who actually gets that role but also linebacker
(35:16):
nefi sewell um was injured in the game and had
to be carted off you don't want to see injuries
like that oh my god um the bears are uh
their next preseason game is against tennessee titans.
Speaker 4 (35:27):
Michael do uh see anything of note during the game
uh no i just watched a little bit at the
beginning catch the starters.
Speaker 2 (35:33):
I think that's exactly what most of us did we
watched caleb and we're like hey look he He'll be ready. Yeah,
there's a couple good throws. On the other side of
football is football. Goal! Chicago Fire draw against the New
York Red Bulls, 1-1. Chicago Fire are unbeaten in six
games right now.
Speaker 1 (35:53):
That's incredible.
Speaker 2 (35:54):
And Robert Lewandowski is continuing to prove that he is
a great mentor to the team, and I cannot wait
to see more from these guys.
Speaker 6 (36:00):
No.
Speaker 4 (36:02):
Baseball crazy over the weekend. Cubs played a three-game series
at T-Mobile Park. A roller coaster out there. Lost game
one with a walk-off. Lost game two by one run.
And then yesterday's game was insane. Ian Happ and Pedro
Ramirez each had grand slams in the game. Drove in
five runs apiece. Pete Crow Armstrong homered his 33rd of
the season. And Michael Conforto added another. The Cubs scored
(36:24):
12 runs over the final two innings.
Speaker 1 (36:26):
Jeez.
Speaker 2 (36:27):
I mean, that is insane. So Michael's a happy bettor
over the weekend. I won some big money. 19-2 blowout.
Speaker 4 (36:34):
And then looking at the game tonight out at Arizona Diamondbacks,
I think our game time is 840 is first pitch. Cubs,
huge heavy favorites to beat the Diamondbacks tonight, too. So
get your bets in. and the White Sox over the weekend.
They won, lost, and won. I was at the game
yesterday with the walk-off. Basically, nothing happened through the whole game,
and then they walked it off again. I think there's
(36:55):
a third walk-off in a row.
Speaker 2 (36:57):
The one thing I love is those walk-off videos because
the pop at the stadium at Rape Field is absolutely electric,
and keep winning. Make the playoffs. Win the division. Yeah,
it's going to be fun.
Speaker 4 (37:09):
And White Sox back in action today against the Texas
Rangers at Rape Field.
Speaker 2 (37:14):
First pitch, 640. And finally, 844-955-9550. Got a four-pack of
tickets to Six Flags Great America. They have their big
season passes on sale right now and at their lowest
prices ever. And you can get those bad boys.
Speaker 1 (37:29):
For next year as well.
Speaker 2 (37:31):
So go ahead and check that out at Six Flags.com
slash Great America. But let me get your four pack
right now. 844-955-9550. Maria, what's that number? 844-955-95M. Preg Monday.
You belong here if you're a creep.
Speaker 1 (37:53):
All creeps welcome on the Morning Mosh Pit on Rock 95.5.
You will be amongst great company. Did we watch Scrubs, boys?
Speaker 2 (38:00):
Yeah, I love Scrubs. I love it. Are we.
Speaker 3 (38:05):
Are we....
Speaker 2 (38:08):
Did you watch Scrubs?
Speaker 1 (38:09):
I'm trying to make a different reference. So.
Speaker 2 (38:13):
Okay, tell us about it.
Speaker 1 (38:15):
I'm trying to.
Speaker 3 (38:16):
Go ahead.
Speaker 1 (38:17):
I'm really trying to.
Speaker 2 (38:17):
I'm waiting for this great Scrubs reference.
Speaker 1 (38:19):
I wish that you would wait quieter. Do you know
the John Dorian three tap method?
Speaker 2 (38:25):
Tell me about it.
Speaker 1 (38:26):
He's in Dr. Cox's car. I'm going to. He's in Dr.
Cox's car. He finds a soda that's been rolling around forever.
And Dr. Cox is like, don't open that soda. It's
been shaken. It'll explode. So he does the John Dorian
three tap method where he just taps on that soda can.
That's supposed to make it all go away. It doesn't.
(38:48):
Because it's scrubs. But can tapping on a soda really
stop it from exploding? Let's find out.
Speaker 2 (38:55):
Is the answer no?
Speaker 1 (38:56):
It's no.
Speaker 4 (38:57):
You guys should have let me test that out.
Speaker 2 (39:01):
I saved you two minutes.
Speaker 1 (39:04):
Go grab a soda. I don't think we can do
that in the studio here. When a carbonated drink gets shaken,
tiny bubbles form inside the liquid. And if you open
the can right away, the sudden drop in pressure can
lead to a foamy explosion. The problem is that tapping
it also creates more bubbles, which means more pressure buildup.
(39:24):
They even did a study in 2019 with more than 1,000
beer cans and they found no difference between tapped and
untapped cups.
Speaker 2 (39:30):
Cans.
Speaker 1 (39:30):
So what's the better move after a beer or so
to get shaken up?
Speaker 2 (39:33):
Let it sit.
Speaker 1 (39:34):
Yeah, let it sit. And then let it mellow. Let
it crack open slowly. Let the gas escape first. And
hopefully saves you from dealing with a big cleanup. I'm
still going to do the John Dorian three tap method.
But that's more of like a religious ritual than it
is any belief or scientific.
Speaker 2 (39:51):
So you like being sprayed with foam?
Speaker 1 (39:54):
I mean, it's been so long at this point that, yeah,
I'll take it from whatever railroad and get it.
Speaker 2 (39:58):
Wow, you can't even.
Speaker 1 (40:00):
I would also like to be rolling around on the
floor ready to explode. But here we are.
Speaker 2 (40:05):
J-Dub on YouTube says, foamy explosion. You might need to
see a doctor.
Speaker 1 (40:08):
Yeah, why is it foamy?
Speaker 3 (40:09):
Anyway, 844-955-9550.
Speaker 2 (40:10):
What are your soda opening hacks? wait i got a
three tap method for you whoa now whoa now sir.
Speaker 1 (40:23):
Now here's the bit only plug.
Speaker 2 (40:25):
With mares plug it 844-955-9550 it's time for fun to
the head it's a lovely game where we get shot
with nerf darts when you answer trivia questions uh And
you can take one of us hostage to provide you
a save. We've done this a long time. I know this.
I know what's going on.
Speaker 1 (40:45):
Happy Monday.
Speaker 2 (40:46):
So we need you.
Speaker 3 (40:47):
844-955-9550.
Speaker 2 (40:47):
Rob Zombie tickets up for grabs as he will be
in town. at Credit Union 1 Amphitheater on September 5th,
and we want you to be there. Don't miss out
on this opportunity. 844-955-9550. Michael, what's that number? 844-955-95... Oh!
(41:08):
Are you okay?
Speaker 1 (41:09):
I will be.
Speaker 2 (41:10):
Are you sure?
Speaker 3 (41:10):
Yep.
Speaker 1 (41:11):
I just got to wrap my head up. And now,
fun to the head on Brock 95.5. Yeah, don't worry.
They're using Nerf weapons.
Speaker 2 (41:23):
Are we speaking with Andrew from Coal City?
Speaker 1 (41:27):
Yes, we are.
Speaker 2 (41:27):
What up, Andrew? How you doing today?
Speaker 1 (41:31):
I'm doing great.
Speaker 2 (41:32):
How about you guys?
Speaker 1 (41:33):
I'm doing fantastic. Better now that you're here.
Speaker 2 (41:35):
Yeah, absolutely. I'm hoping that you had a fantastic weekend,
looking to make your day better with a chance to
win some Rob Zombie tickets, as he's going to be
at Credit Union 1 Amphitheater on Saturday, September 5th. But
you've got to play our game first. This is Fun
to the Head. You're going to answer some trivia questions.
We're going to get shot with Nerf darts if you
get questions wrong. And you can take one of us
(41:56):
hostage if you don't know the answer online. we can
provide you a save. The first thing you have to
decide is who do you want to take hostage? Michael, myself,
or Maria? I'm going to take Michael. Yeah! Thank you.
Speaker 1 (42:11):
Phenomenal.
Speaker 2 (42:12):
Remember, I can help you out if you don't know one.
Are you ready, Maria?
Speaker 1 (42:16):
Born ready.
Speaker 4 (42:17):
I'm not used to this. No one ever takes me hostage.
Speaker 1 (42:21):
Alright, question number one. Which band released the 1976 album
Hotel California?
Speaker 2 (42:28):
That would be the Eagles.
Speaker 1 (42:32):
That would be the Eagles.
Speaker 2 (42:34):
Well done, my man.
Speaker 1 (42:34):
Welcome to the hotel. You know, you can check in
anytime you want. You can never leave. Question number two.
Speaker 2 (42:41):
That's scary.
Speaker 1 (42:44):
In E.T., the extraterrestrial, what food does E.T. famously love?
Speaker 4 (42:52):
Shoot.
Speaker 1 (42:54):
I would have to use my lifeline. Lifeline him.
Speaker 2 (42:58):
One of my faves. Reese's Pieces.
Speaker 1 (43:00):
Reese's Pieces.
Speaker 2 (43:02):
By the way, what a marketing situation.
Speaker 4 (43:04):
Truly.
Speaker 2 (43:05):
I wonder how much Reese's paid for that. Oh, a
piece of candy.
Speaker 1 (43:09):
Question number three. What does DM stand for on social media?
Direct message. Not in my book. Look at you go.
Speaker 2 (43:19):
All right, one more and you got the tickets, my man.
Speaker 1 (43:21):
Well, That would be three. Because he used his save.
Speaker 6 (43:28):
Yeah, he did.
Speaker 1 (43:29):
He got the eagles and he got Reese's Pieces. Happy Monday, Maris.
You're doing a great job today.
Speaker 2 (43:33):
Well, no, the save was the Reese's Pieces, right?
Speaker 4 (43:35):
Huh?
Speaker 1 (43:35):
The save was the Reese's Pieces.
Speaker 3 (43:37):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (43:37):
Then he got direct message. That's three in a row. Nice.
Don't worry. Maris can't math. That's all right. Maria Maths
on Monday on the Morning Mosh Pit. Well, Andrew, I
feel so safe today.
Speaker 2 (43:47):
I just want to hang out a little bit more.
Speaker 4 (43:49):
Oh, okay.
Speaker 2 (43:49):
Thank you. But we got you those tickets to Rob Zombie,
one of the best shows around. He's over at the
Credit Union One Amphitheater on Saturday, September 5th. Coming up
very quickly, and I think around the room, Rob Zombie
is probably one of the best produced shows I've ever
(44:11):
been to.
Speaker 4 (44:11):
If there was any show this summer out at Tinley
Park that I would make my way to go to,
it would be the Rob Zombie show. I mean, I've
just heard such incredible things.
Speaker 1 (44:20):
I'm going to go. When is it?
Speaker 2 (44:21):
September 5th.
Speaker 1 (44:23):
Hell yeah, let's go.
Speaker 2 (44:24):
I'm going to go.
Speaker 1 (44:24):
They've been wanting us to come out there, too.
Speaker 2 (44:27):
Oh, well, there you go.
Speaker 1 (44:28):
Call them up. Let's go.
Speaker 2 (44:29):
All right, Andrew, we might be joining you on another
field trip out at Credit Union 1 Amphitheater. Thanks for
helping us out there. But everybody else, go ahead and
get your tickets over at Ticketmaster.com. All thanks to our
friends at Live Nation.
Speaker 1 (44:45):
Saturday on Labor Day weekend.
Speaker 3 (44:47):
Actually, I'm out.
Speaker 2 (44:48):
I'm out of time. But more importantly, today is the
first day I'm back to school for CPS. Oh, man. Boy,
do we got some stories for you here on Rock 95.5.
Speaker 4 (45:01):
Back down is my dad's motto when i would skip
school from him whooping my ass i rocked 95.5 chicago's
rock station i wasn't the best uh student in school
you don't say uh first day of uh chicago public
schools back today i do remember my first day though
yeah i remember because my mom had to take me
back off the bus oh i was very very little
(45:22):
little boy and she put me on the bus and
i start crying And I remember watching from the bus
in the back and it started to drive away and
I was driving away from my mom and.
Speaker 1 (45:31):
I started crying and they stopped.
Speaker 2 (45:33):
The bus and got me off and my mom drove
me to school. Wow. What an idiot. It's so true.
Speaker 1 (45:40):
And by the way, still that way please hold my
hand it's actually like more endearing when you're grown up
yeah that's kind of nice yes i.
Speaker 4 (45:49):
Mean other than that school was okay for me first
day was always weird though you had the new pants
you had all the clothes that mom wouldn't let you
wear oh.
Speaker 2 (45:54):
Yeah right this the new school outfit yeah yeah you
can't wear those shoes i sat in the closet for two.
Speaker 1 (46:00):
Weeks and you stared at it until.
Speaker 2 (46:02):
That day came and you were fresh to death fresh
to death i had uniforms oh yeah lucky duck um
were they stop it nope uh my first day um
my mom dropped me off and we were standing in
like you know the little lineup line outside the school
or whatever and like I wouldn't think about it. I
(46:22):
just ran into class.
Speaker 3 (46:24):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (46:25):
My mom was just standing there like, he's been attached
to me for five whole years. And the first day
he gets to get away from me and there he goes.
Just starts crying. Just in class, having the best time
of my life. But it was also like I knew
my brother and sister were also at school. So I
was kind of excited to be where they were because
I hadn't been where they were before. So I was
(46:46):
the eldest.
Speaker 1 (46:47):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (46:47):
So I didn't have that opportunity.
Speaker 3 (46:48):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (46:48):
I only did half day kindergarten.
Speaker 1 (46:50):
That was cool. What were you really good at?
Speaker 2 (46:55):
Math was my favorite. Really? Which is weird because here
I am. What about you there?
Speaker 1 (47:03):
Similarly, I don't really have that many first day of
school memories, but before I was of school age, I
had to watch my brothers get on the bus and
go do this cool thing that they got to do
every day. I had to stay home. What is that?
I guess there was one year Where both my brothers
got on the bus and then little toddler me went
on too. And like the bus driver was like kind
(47:24):
of like letting me sit and, you know, going along
with it for a second. But then my mom was like, okay, Marie,
we got to go. And I was like, what? I'm
going to school. And I was just ticked that I
had to get off the bus.
Speaker 2 (47:38):
Same height.
Speaker 4 (47:40):
Yeah, you just pick you up with a couple fingers
and bounce you off the bus.
Speaker 1 (47:43):
I don't need to be body shamed this morning. That's
not really keeping in the spirit of the morning mosh
pit on Rock 95.
Speaker 2 (47:50):
I know those are big steps.
Speaker 1 (47:52):
We'll help you down.
Speaker 3 (47:53):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (47:54):
All right. Well, at least one of us actually passed phonics.
Pop into the palm of my hand.
Speaker 2 (48:00):
I don't need phonics anymore. The 844-955-9550 as it is.
CBS's First Day. I know a bunch of suburban schools
are back in action. Yeah, hit us with your first
day of school stories or if you've got a little
rascal that you want to tell us about on their
interesting first day of school. Go ahead and text us.
Speaker 1 (48:19):
844-955-9550.
Speaker 2 (48:24):
Five-ish things you almost certainly need to know.
Speaker 1 (48:28):
It's a hell of a community service. I'll tell you
that much. I love things.
Speaker 2 (48:32):
We're going to spin the Wheel of Rock in a
little bit, but we need you to spin said Wheel
of Rock. We're low on shows, but not low on tickets.
We've got an option for you to win, Rob. Zombie, Stainbreaking, Benjamin,
all with our friends from Live Nation. Those shows all
at creditunion1. com. amphitheater so be caller 10 844-955-9550 to uh
yep win tickets get your fingers out we don't want
to too many.
Speaker 1 (48:53):
Spinners there You can never have too many.
Speaker 2 (49:02):
Ladies and gentlemen, those storms have left northwest Indiana in
a tizzy. Gary, Indiana, specifically, going on day 13 without power. Yeah,
this is... It's it's it's been an absolute mess.
Speaker 1 (49:17):
It is truly because like what.
Speaker 4 (49:19):
This shouldn't be happening. Thousands of people are still without power.
Speaker 2 (49:23):
And it's not just power because the Internet lines got
messed up, too.
Speaker 1 (49:27):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (49:27):
And talking to one of our coworkers, they said that
Internet's probably about three weeks away before they can get
that reinstalled for.
Speaker 1 (49:35):
Uh people out there you know.
Speaker 4 (49:37):
Remote work how's anybody making money how's anybody taking care
of their families like this is not okay indiana i'm
talking to you like get it together what is.
Speaker 2 (49:45):
Going on nipsco specifically um for those of you in
northwest indiana who have been affected by uh these storms
in a very negative manner uh there is a class
action lawsuit that you can look into to uh go
against Nipsco, who's just completely made a mess of this situation.
The class action lawsuit is claiming or not claiming, but
(50:08):
they're saying that Nipsco inadequately performed vegetation management in and
around power lines that had fallen around trees that led
to power outages that impacted people's lives. And there are
a ton of lives impacted. As we said, school has
just started today, and that includes in northwest Indiana. And
we know it is an absolute struggle over the weekend.
(50:29):
I did love seeing I saw a swoop of social
media posts of a lot of community groups, a lot
of community members just getting out in northwest Indiana, giving
away food, toiletries and daily necessities that we don't necessarily
think about because you don't know what you don't have
until you don't have power. So literally, when you're thinking
(50:51):
about donating, find a charity within northwest Indiana, see what
they need. which is a little bit of everything.
Speaker 4 (50:57):
Also, get ready, because you guys are going to have
a really cool stadium soon.
Speaker 2 (51:03):
If that be the case. I mean, the Chicago Bears
did come forward, and they donated some good money out
to our friends in Northwest Indiana as well. But I
don't want to be a Debbie Downer, but our neighbors
are in need, and we want to make sure that
we are helping them as best as possible. Let's spin
a wheel.
Speaker 1 (51:20):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (51:20):
Who am I speaking to here on Rock 95.5 Live
on the radio? This is Mike from Plainfield. Mike from Plainfield.
How are you doing, my man?
Speaker 3 (51:30):
Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike.
Speaker 2 (51:31):
I'm good.
Speaker 4 (51:32):
How about you guys?
Speaker 2 (51:33):
We're doing fantastic. Mike, have you spun the wheel before?
Speaker 3 (51:36):
What was that?
Speaker 2 (51:39):
Have you spun the wheel before? No, never.
Speaker 4 (51:42):
All right.
Speaker 2 (51:42):
Well, good. I've never seen those fingers before.
Speaker 1 (51:44):
I'd recognize this spinner.
Speaker 2 (51:47):
There's a brutality that just happened there. But yeah, we
only got a few shows left. Mike, let's spin this
wheel and see what you come up with.
Speaker 1 (51:55):
All right.
Speaker 2 (51:56):
Geez, the wheel doesn't spin very much in the summer. Mike,
you're going to see Rob Zombie, my man.
Speaker 1 (52:02):
Yeah, nice. That's a great show.
Speaker 3 (52:05):
No, no.
Speaker 2 (52:06):
Hell is okay. Don't say those other words, though. Credit
Union One Amphitheater is where you will be on Saturday,
September 5th. Just going to be an absolutely amazing show
with Bobbert Zombie. Who do you plan on taking with
you to this one, my man? I'll probably be taking
my wife for this one. There you go. Shout your
(52:26):
wife out. What's her name?
Speaker 1 (52:28):
Her name's Colleen.
Speaker 2 (52:29):
Colleen. You got yourself a nice date night with Rob
Zombie and that husband of yours. Everybody else, make sure
you go get your tickets at Ticketmaster.com. All thanks to
our friends at Live Nation. But you know what we
got to do right now?
Speaker 3 (52:43):
What?
Speaker 2 (52:43):
We got 95 minutes commercial free on Rock 95.5. And
I say, I dare say we enjoy some of that
with System of a Down right now.
Speaker 1 (52:55):
Those news headlines sure can get you down.
Speaker 2 (53:00):
Can you bring us up this weekend?
Speaker 1 (53:02):
Yes. Yes, I can. In fact, what I'm going to
do for you, Maris, since you asked.
Speaker 2 (53:06):
Thank you.
Speaker 1 (53:06):
Very nicely.
Speaker 2 (53:07):
I did.
Speaker 1 (53:07):
Kind of. It is the news. And we're going to
put a positive spin on it.
Speaker 2 (53:11):
Just keep it positive.
Speaker 1 (53:12):
So you can be informed.
Speaker 2 (53:13):
Come on.
Speaker 1 (53:13):
But not depressed. This is Beat News Beers. Eight-year-old dies
from rare brain-eating amoeba likely contracted while swimming in Louisiana Lake.
Speaker 2 (53:29):
Great start, Mariam.
Speaker 1 (53:30):
Stay out of the water. Louisiana fast. Wife of police
officer who was found dead is considered armed and dangerous,
chief says. I got nothing. That sounds hot.
Speaker 2 (53:44):
Yeah, let's go.
Speaker 1 (53:46):
Human-caused wildfire in Nevada, 0% contained. Don't love those odds.
Speaker 3 (53:55):
No.
Speaker 1 (53:56):
Maybe put it in Vegas. It'll stay there. An 18-year-old
with a sword attacks a school in Sweden, leaving one dead.
Speaker 2 (54:03):
That's cool. I mean, not cool. That's not what I
meant to say. Who does it with a sword?
Speaker 3 (54:08):
Come on.
Speaker 1 (54:10):
It sounds like old weaponry, but it's actually cutting edge. Ah,
I like that.
Speaker 3 (54:16):
All of it.
Speaker 1 (54:18):
Just bad news beers.
Speaker 2 (54:19):
Remind me that Michael said it was cool to stab
kids in school. No, no, no, no, no. That's what
you said?
Speaker 1 (54:26):
I think swords are cool. I would think it was
cool if it was nunchucks, too.
Speaker 2 (54:30):
Commercial free.
Speaker 3 (54:31):
Whoa.
Speaker 2 (54:32):
That'd be kind of fun.
Speaker 4 (54:34):
No.
Speaker 2 (54:35):
That'd be kind of fun.
Speaker 3 (54:36):
What? No.
Speaker 1 (54:37):
Rock 95.5 Chicago's Rock Station.
Speaker 2 (54:38):
Just me. It's text time.
Speaker 1 (54:40):
Imagine the text we'd.
Speaker 2 (54:41):
Get at the end of the world. There wouldn't be text, Michael.
Speaker 4 (54:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (54:44):
We wouldn't have service. No, we could still have service.
We'd be running the towers. I don't know.
Speaker 2 (54:48):
Where would we be getting power from?
Speaker 1 (54:50):
Read me a text.
Speaker 2 (54:50):
Well, we could still have power at the end of
the world.
Speaker 1 (54:52):
Read me a text.
Speaker 4 (54:54):
From the 815, my grandfather had nicknames for all of
the grandchildren. I was the firstborn Kid Dynamite.
Speaker 3 (55:00):
Nice.
Speaker 2 (55:00):
Then came Nitro. Then TNT.
Speaker 4 (55:03):
He clearly had something with explosives. A story today, people
are naming their children after weapons.
Speaker 2 (55:08):
Nicknames better than actual legal names.
Speaker 1 (55:11):
Maria. On that note. Hollow Point.
Speaker 4 (55:13):
Palmer.
Speaker 2 (55:15):
That's awesome, actually. It's kind of cool.
Speaker 1 (55:17):
Dustin said, this is going to come of no surprise,
being that I'm in the South, but my best friend's
boys are named Gunner, Shooter, and Archer.
Speaker 2 (55:24):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (55:24):
I know a girl whose sons are named Colt, Bear,
and Mac. To top it all off, my grandson's name
is Jet Maverick. There you go, boys and girls.
Speaker 2 (55:36):
Gunner, Shooter, and Archer is a good three. That's funny,
I think. Get the whole kit and caboodle there. 210, Maria, Matt,
and president. You're doing a great job today.
Speaker 1 (55:46):
Thank you. Nice to hear that coming from.
Speaker 3 (55:47):
You, Maris.
Speaker 2 (55:48):
You didn't finish that text. I did. There's a second
part to that text.
Speaker 1 (55:51):
Don't worry, I got you. Maris, you're also doing a
great job.
Speaker 2 (55:54):
I didn't get that in my list.
Speaker 1 (55:56):
Oh, that's weird.
Speaker 4 (55:57):
From the 630, good morning, Maria, Maris, and Michael. I've
been one of the unfortunate ones, or fortunate, to be
listening to Miss Maria Palmer since the station started. The
show is really awesome, really starts my day off good,
even though I'm retired. And still awesome to wake up
to hear you guys bust on each other. Thank you, Joseph.
Speaker 1 (56:16):
And we do.
Speaker 2 (56:17):
What great phrasing you chose there, Joseph.
Speaker 1 (56:19):
Every morning on the Morning Mosh Pit, we wake up,
rock hard, and bust on each other. I got a towel.
From 224, Maria needs a gold star.

I just want to send a huge thank you to
you guys. I won White Sox tickets off you guys
for last Friday's game, and it was possibly the best
baseball game I have ever been to.
Speaker 1 (57:20):
That was a walk-off, too, I think. There's been a
lot of walk-offs lately. It's your turn.
Speaker 2 (57:27):
How's it going?
Speaker 5 (57:28):
All right.
Speaker 1 (57:29):
Malia, Maris, and Mikey, you're awesome. Never change, and let
us know when Mikey and Ron's baby shower is. That's

How did you forget what we were doing?
Speaker 1 (57:43):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (57:44):
I'm sorry.
Speaker 1 (57:46):
From the 847.
Speaker 4 (57:46):
My first day of kindergarten, I was so confident and excited.
The second we sat down for circle time, I projectile
vomited right in the middle of said circle. I turn
23 tomorrow and it still haunts me.
Speaker 2 (57:56):
Way to go, Lloyd.
Speaker 1 (57:56):
That's a good one, Lloyd.
Speaker 2 (57:57):
Well done.
Speaker 1 (57:57):
To be fair, Lloyd, 23, that was just yesterday for you.

to be sex. Just a type thing.

Just brush up against me.
Speaker 1 (58:17):
Stiff breeze will do it. Heavy on the stiff. 844-955-9550.
Speaker 2 (58:21):
Could somebody please talk to my co-host? I need more
than a talking to, yeah. I've been talking, boy. I'm
scared to walk past both of you. You should be.
Get you pregnant.
Speaker 1 (58:38):

being here, everybody. I mean, we're never perfect, so it
doesn't really matter.
Speaker 1 (58:49):
You are never perfect.
Speaker 2 (58:51):
When have you been perfect?
Speaker 1 (58:52):
Every goddamn day of my life.
Speaker 2 (58:53):
That's a lie.
Speaker 1 (58:54):
Perfection.
Speaker 2 (58:55):
That's what my mom tells me.
Speaker 1 (58:56):
There's a cherry on top of this sundae. We are
complete and perfect.
Speaker 2 (58:59):
Where's the cherry?
Speaker 1 (59:00):
On top.
Speaker 2 (59:02):
Why is the cherry on top?
Speaker 1 (59:04):
Hasn't been popped yet.
Speaker 2 (59:05):
By the way, this is still.
Speaker 4 (59:10):
shout out to everybody who's streaming with us. We're streaming
on the iHeartRadio app, of course, and then we have
full video going on YouTube, Instagram, Facebook.
Speaker 1 (59:16):
We're about to lose our jobs, so this might be
the last day.
Speaker 2 (59:19):
Yeah, it could be the last stream.
Speaker 3 (59:20):
What?
Speaker 2 (59:20):
Huh? Why are we losing?
Speaker 1 (59:22):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (59:23):
I don't think so.
Speaker 1 (59:23):
Have you listened to the show today?
Speaker 2 (59:25):
I know it was terrible. Unless we let those things
pass and we keep going. Actually, here's what we're really
going to do. We're going to open that door. We're
going to welcome Walt back.
Speaker 1 (59:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (59:34):
Is he back?
Speaker 1 (59:35):
Good deal.
Speaker 2 (59:35):
Walt is back. I saw him in the hallway. Nice.
I can't tell you what this station sounded like without
Walt because we are terrible. Thank you for coming back, Walt.
Speaker 1 (59:48):
Is Klinger back too? No.
Speaker 2 (59:50):
I don't know I haven't seen Clint crazy we could
get the whole station back today.
Speaker 1 (59:52):
We probably need to go pull him out of the forest.
Speaker 2 (59:55):
Yeah oh yeah he did go to what country was that.
Speaker 1 (59:58):
I don't know he's just Germany I think right he

is just reflecting the sun
Speaker 4 (01:00:08):
