Hello, and welcome to now Streaming with Jordan. Occasionally, on

this feature, we take a look at the business side
of television, and everybody's a buzz about the seventy two
billion dollar Netflix deal to buy the studio and streaming
assets of Warner Brothers Discovery. This means the world's top streamer,
that would be Netflix, incorporating one of the most storied
film and TV studios in history. Now, this is going
to take months to complete, and there's a lot of pushback.

Paramount has already expressed dissatisfaction and is looking to squash
the deal, and certainly there are anti trust issues being raised.
But perhaps the entity facing the most threat has been
under threat for many, many years now, and that is
the movie theater industry. It's harder and harder to get
people to go out to the movies in the first place,
and this deal, if it's completed, will mean so much more.

Nearly everything will be accessible in your living room almost immediately.
It's going to be an interesting battle to see who
comes out on top when and if the changes occur.
