Started writing sort of a like a rap song about
going to Las Vegas, which is somehow I don't know

don't we just take everyone on a trip to Iceland

I was gonna ask where you guys shot that, but obviously,
like you said, Iceland. Yeah, now, okay, so I understand
like lots of DJ type radio people, they guy they
always ask you guys like, oh, what's the name of
the band, and you have messed with them and told
them that what is it your bassis that it's from
his royal scottage lineage.

We come up with a couple of a couple of
tall tales, for sure.

A lot of never ending story fans come out to
see you guys.

You know, I know right they should fan fish.

That is so great. Now you started out, you were
you were the like you were doing all the screaming
in the band, and then now you are just front
and center. You're the guy.

Yeah I was.

Originally I was the drummer for I was a drummer
for twenty something twenty years go on, and then I
stepped up front and kind of about almost six years
ago and just took over the front man positions and
it's been it's been a fun ride.

Man. We're having a good time.

Okay. So if you're playing drums of the band, I'm sure,
I mean you're up on all the screens and stuff
like that. What was the what was the transition like
or was it very normal to you to go, Okay, cool,
I'm gonna grab the mic and rock this thing.

I mean, luckily we had had some experience, you know,
you know, kind of playing with that lineup, but it
was sort of just a probably harder for the rest
of the band because it's just moving a freight train
from the back of the.

Stage to the front of the stage. So it's just
everyone adapting to that.
Speaker 1 (05:16):
Now with you guys, y'all, I'm looking at on your
Facebook page right here, and it shows just the bajillion
different bands that you guys have kind of played with
at different festivals. And I know there's like to hang
out by the buses, and you know, you have chemistry
with some people and not so much with others. Is
there anybody that you haven't done something with, like a

is there somebody you would like to work with that
you haven't had the chance to yet for sure.
Speaker 3 (05:43):
I mean a band that we've definitely when we've hung
out with but never toured with, has been Shinedown.
Speaker 2 (05:48):
I would love to do some shows a shine down.

Same with Papa Roach with them, you know, a couple
of handful of festivals, but never toured extensively with Papa Roach.

A Data remember is another one of those.

Bands, and you know have hung out, hung out with him,
know them, but never uh, never done really any extensive touring.

So there's definitely a lot of bands to check off
the list for sure.

Is there anything in the works to actually, you know,
do a song with one of these other artists or
is that just sort of you know.

I would love that we've done. We've had Jacobe on
a song before on our album Baptize, so that was
that was a real treat.

He's an absolute legend. But yeah, we're always open for
the sort of collaboration.

You know, it's sort of just it has to sort
of fall in our laps, and it's got to sort
of be like something that just happens naturally. You know.
That's usually how most of our our guests and collaborations
have come to light where it's just been like it's
sort of just existed out of Sinna.

Expect a tray you to be bullying kids, flirting with
old old women and synchronized swimming in a music video.

come up with an idea? Did you guys come up
with that idea of hey, let's let's do something kind
of funny even though this is such a serious song,
I mean for sure.

I mean I think our whole last album cycle for
a Beautiful Dark of Life was all of the videos
were like, let's just throw it out the window, like
let's just come up with the most ridiculous things possible
and see if they get across the table.

And it ended up all working out. So ended up
everyone said yes.

So all of our videos for the last cycle are
pretty pretty high on the ridiculous meter, which is funny.

I think it just shows a bit of our personality,

Now, the House of Rock is a is a fantastic place.
It's not absolutely massive, so people are going to get
to really see you guys up close, and so for sure,
if you're in a tray, you fan, this is your
opportunity Monday, April twenty seventh. But then, you guys, you're sporadic, not.

Spirad well, you kind of sporadically touring with with seven Dust,
and the days that y'all aren't performing with them, you're
going to be doing other shows and other in the
same places, right for sure.

Yeah, so we're doing we're doing this whole seven Dust
tour around the States. But we had a few gaps
and just wanted to it's kind of deaf to what
you said.

Have a couple opportunities to play like a full headline show,
you know, it's not a you know, forty five minute
supports that you get a longer show, and kind of
on purpose went into rooms like House of Rock that
are just like small, sweaty, hot, chaotic, like absolute fun
time and uh, we're ready to We're ready to tear
it down.

I toured with them many years ago with another band

such a great bunch of dudes and just absolute legends
of a band.

I was riding a mountain bike down Ocean Drive in
Corpus and this is probably fifteen twenty years ago, and
a bus pulled up and parked and the guys all
piled out of the bus and I knew who they
were instantly, but I'm like DJ guy and I had talked,
I had met them and talked to them many times,

and I was like, hey, I'm Rex from C one
on one and they're like, oh man, they're like the friendliest,
most wonderful people. They're like, we're trying to find a
place to eat and I'm like.

Wa Yeah, Water Street Oyster Bar right there, man. But yeah,
those guys are those guys are real people too. Like
you can tell when you talk to somebody, you know,
if they've got the rock star you know thing, which

have that. But for the most part, I thank you
for just being a guy to talk to this morning,
