Speaker 1 (00:00):
I've become obsessed Rex.

Speaker 2 (00:01):
In the morning on CE one oh one, I swapped
out my my failing chain drive garage door opener. It
was just it was more loud than broken. But you know,
here's how it works when you're a guy and you
have a wife or a girlfriend. Michelle and I we've
been together for like, you know, eleven years. We're not married,
but you know, I guess you know, common law or whatever.
But you know, we like the fact that at any

(00:23):
given moment, the other one could be gone if we
mess up, So it definitely keeps us both in check. Anyway,
long story short, I have to pretend that things are
broken so I can go spend the money to get
something else.

Speaker 1 (00:36):
So I had to fake.

Speaker 2 (00:37):
Don't tell her, by the way, I had to fake
a garage door malfunction, you know. As far as the opener,
I was like, oh, look at this thing, it's broken.
You know, listen to the noise. You know, it's making
all this crazy noise.

Speaker 1 (00:49):
Little does she know.

Speaker 2 (00:49):
I'm out there, you know, like with a grinder, ruining
the teeth on the main gear. Look at this, it's slipping. Yeah,
I don't know if that's a safety hazard. Oh we
better get a new garage door opener. So if I
go and I buy this chain drive, no sorry, not
chain never again. A belt drive, which I knew for
a thousand years were quieter. I bought a belt drive

(01:11):
with like a little camera, so like, you know, we
can leave the garage door open, like if Amazon or
a goat walks out, you know, a chicken, it'll alert
me on my phone.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
So now it's really really quiet.

Speaker 2 (01:23):
Before you could hear it from like one hundred yards away,
you know, the chain drive, it was just annoying as well.

Speaker 1 (01:32):
So I GNI did the belt.

Speaker 2 (01:33):
Drive, and it's really really quiet, except now I'm hearing
like a bunch of noise from the door. So I
become ridiculously obsessed with having a quiet sixteen foot garage door.
I mean it's like, you know, really standard wide ass
garage door. It's eight feet tall. I had to buy
the extincsion kit with the extra belt and whatnot.

Speaker 1 (01:52):
That cost a couple of bucks.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
But now I did like the are they like the
nylon wheels instead of the steel, And I've oiled the
out of the whole thing, and I still I still
hear like a little creaking and whatnot. And I've become
increasingly obsessed with having a silent garage door opener. Yeah,
welcome to Maybe it's the age you get a little older,

(02:16):
so now I like want it to be where I
don't hear it at all. So now I just bought
on Amazon little sleeves that actually go over the posts
that hold the actual wheel.

Speaker 1 (02:29):
So there you go. If you know, you know, you
know what I'm talking about.

Speaker 2 (02:32):
If you've become obsessed with wanting complete silence when you
open your garage door, I'm gonna achieve it. Man,
