Speaker 1 (00:00):
Three days, Good morning, and happy Friday. Friends. We made it.
Ricky Sanchez has those three things.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
Martha Stewart is launching a skincare line. She's launching a
brand new line called ELM Biosciences. The brand is dropping
a two part regimen serum and oral supplement this September.
She's been testing these products herself, and she says she's
all about the texture, color, and subtle scent of them.
After five years of behind the scenes work, she's ready

(00:29):
to share her personal skincare secret with the world. And
if you have seen Martha Stewart, you should trust her
about this because she looks phenomenal.

Speaker 1 (00:38):
I mean, I want to get this stuff. She looks Yeah,
she looks great.

Speaker 2 (00:41):
I don't blame you, Kevin. Tennessee State Parks have expanded
accessibility with new features. This is amazing. Tennessee State Parks
hired their first ever accessibility coordinator back in March, and
they've been working really hard to boost accessibility under the
Access twenty thirty initiative, which aims to make Tennessee Parks
the most accessible in the country. So changes have already

(01:03):
started with all terrain wheelchairs that they hope will give
people access to areas they couldn't see before. There are
now adult changing tables, which is a huge request that
people have that a lot of people just don't think about.
And some parks have wheelchair accessible canoe and kayak launches.
Others have installed special viewfinders that can help people who
are colorblind to experience the colors of nature. All just

(01:26):
really cool stuff that they are putting in the state
parks around Tennessee. So make sure when you're visiting one
that you check out which ones they have available to you.
Because this is an amazing, amazing initiative that we have
going on. And you can now vote to bring back
your favorite stamps in USPS's stamp Encore. So the US
Postal Service is throwing a very nostalgic party for anybody

(01:48):
who loves stamps with this stamp Encore contest. Now through
September thirtieth, fans can vote online or by mail obviously
for one of twenty five classic designs to be reprinted.
So that includes ones like Bugs, Bunny, Disney favorites, the
twenty seventeen Total Eclipse stamp. Whatever one might be your favorite,

(02:08):
you can vote for it now. The winning stamp is
going to be revealed next May at the Boston twenty
twenty six World Expo.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
Okay, I'm Ricky.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
Sanchez and those are the three things you need to know.

Speaker 1 (02:19):
Do you have a favorite stamp, Ricky?

Speaker 2 (02:20):
I do. I have little manatee stamps, and I love that.

Speaker 1 (02:24):
I was not expecting you to have an answer for that,
but I like it.

Speaker 3 (02:28):
One O seven five The River Rericky, Zach and Meno
in the Morning.

Speaker 2 (02:31):
One O seven five The River. Guys, did you hear
about the new stat that has to do with how
many bots are actually on social media?

Speaker 1 (02:40):
Internet?

Speaker 4 (02:41):
Terrifies me?

Speaker 2 (02:42):
Just wait till you actually hear the percentage. That's what's
really going to terrify you.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
All right, Right after the song, Ricky will share these
new depressing stats about bots.

Speaker 3 (02:52):
Ricky, Zach and Meno in the Morning on one seven
five h.

Speaker 1 (02:56):
Seven five The River. Good morning. Hopefully your day's going
well so far. We started something new this week, bringing
a news story something you maybe have not heard about
to the air at this time.

Speaker 2 (03:07):
We're calling it. Did you hear? Did you guys hear
this new stat about bots and the way they are
taking over social media and the Internet.

Speaker 4 (03:16):
No, but I feel like, I'm terrified by this.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
It's just the demise of like culture. Bots are ruining
everything everybody that everybody is arguing with online. It's not
even a real person.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
Kevin feels very strongly about this.

Speaker 1 (03:28):
Yeah, here, we are.

Speaker 2 (03:29):
Officially in the AI boom is what they're calling it.
Bots reportedly now make up seventy five percent of x
which was formerly Twitter, and over half of Internet traffic.

Speaker 5 (03:41):
It's crazy, so dumb to me, because like so many
people like feel validated with how many likes or how
many comments or how many people are searching this, and
they're not even people.

Speaker 4 (03:51):
It's a boss.

Speaker 2 (03:53):
So it does also say here that twenty percent of
these bots are quote bad bots, prone to a host
of militia activities, so they're there to like egg you
on and give you bad stats and tell you the
wrong things.

Speaker 4 (04:06):
I really see the reaction. I don't like this.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
It's scary. It's a scary thought to think about.

Speaker 1 (04:12):
I've never gotten into an argument on the internet, and
I think it is probably the dumbest way you can
possibly spend your time. And it's not even a real person.

Speaker 2 (04:21):
On the other end, it seems like that now, I mean,
with this stat you're more likely to be talking to
a box.

Speaker 4 (04:28):
We're more likely wild stats.

Speaker 2 (04:31):
But now you know.

Speaker 3 (04:34):
Ricky, Zach and Meno in the morning.

Speaker 2 (04:36):
There's so much to do in Nashville this weekend, and
Zach has everything you need to know right here on
one of seven, five of the river. Go ahead, Zach,
what can we get into?

Speaker 4 (04:45):
Okay?

Speaker 1 (04:46):
So glow in the Park.

Speaker 5 (04:47):
I know it sounds so fun, but it's at the
Adventure Park at Nashville. It's out by the Percy Warnert
Park and it's like ziplining, but they haven't glow in
the park this weekend. Where you there's like thousands of
LED lights that illumin your way through your zipline. So
you like ziplining and there's all of these glow in
the dark lights.

Speaker 4 (05:04):
It's just so cool.

Speaker 1 (05:06):
It's cool.

Speaker 5 (05:07):
Also, one of my favorite events of the entire year
is happening this weekend, Tomato Art Festival.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
I never get to go every year I'm away.

Speaker 5 (05:15):
Yeah, so it actually starts today, but the parade is
tomorrow morning. The parade starts at eight thirty. Well, you
can line up at eight thirty and then the parade
starts at nine am. There's gonna be a bunch of
different local bands. There's gonna be drum lines, there's gonna
be so many cool things for the Tomato Art Festival,
and it's all throughout five points in East Nashville.

Speaker 4 (05:33):
It's just one of the most fun events.

Speaker 2 (05:35):
Don't forget to dress up too, because that's a big
thing there. People will do the most creative and insane costumes.

Speaker 1 (05:42):
Really, oh, you.

Speaker 4 (05:43):
Dress up like a tomato.

Speaker 1 (05:46):
It's the Tomato Art Fest.

Speaker 2 (05:47):
It's amazing too.

Speaker 5 (05:50):
Also, I do have to remind you that the Williamson
County Fair it does unfortunately in tomorrow, so if you've
not been to the fair yet, they opened it again
this week on Wednesday, so it's Wednesday three Saturday. But
Saturday is the absolute end of the Williamson County Fair.
So make sure you go out and you get you
some cotton candy, some Friday oreos on.

Speaker 4 (06:07):
A live bit and a funnel gate.

Speaker 2 (06:09):
Something on a stick. Yeah, there's something about food on
a stick that just makes it taste better at the fair.
I don't know why.

Speaker 5 (06:17):
And then also lastly, I do have to tell you
if there's a bunch of traffic downtown, it's because Vince
Gill is at the Ryeman tomorrow night.

Speaker 4 (06:23):
So I guess he's doing.

Speaker 5 (06:24):
Like a residency because he played Thursday night, tonight and
tomorrow night. If you want some fresh live music, go
see Vince Gill at the Rymans three days.

Speaker 1 (06:34):
Let's go. Let's go. Happy Friday friends, thank you so
much for starting your day with us. Let's make it
a good one. Ricky Sanchez has those three things.

Speaker 2 (06:41):
Word on the street is that Taylor Swift and Travis
Kelsey are looking to buy a house together. This is
like the second or third time that these rumors have
been going around, but it looks like multiple sources are
confirming that last month, when Taylor and Travis were in Ohio,
they were indeed house hunting. At that time, People magazine
published an exclusive account of their lunch and their visit

(07:02):
to a very specific area in Ohio. They reported that
the couple were returning to where Travis grew up and
mentioning that they were looking at homes that were on
the market. So it looks like this is actually going
to happen. Fingers crossed for them because, as you know,
they've been going strong. They look so cute and happy together,
and we just love whenever everybody's just happy and healthy

(07:23):
and doing their best, So congrats to them on this.
If the rumors are true. Trip Advisor announced it's twenty
twenty five travelers Choice Best of the Best awards. It's
so hard to be but Tennessee came in the top
spot for amusement parks. Dollywood in Pigeon Forge beat out

(07:44):
every amusement park for the number one spot. The ranking
is determined by which parks get high volume of quote
above and beyond reviews and opinions from the trip Advisor
community over a twelve month period. This is the third
time in four years that Dollywood has taken the number
one spot. Everybody loves DOLLI that means it beats out
parks like Disney, even Crazy. Everyone loves Dollywood. Hypol still

(08:05):
yet to go. It's on my list. I think I
gotta go before summer ends.

Speaker 1 (08:10):
Yeah, and now that this news is out there, I
feel like the crowds are going to get even bigger.
So just go today.

Speaker 2 (08:14):
I'm ready to fight the crowds.

Speaker 1 (08:15):
Let's go go today.

Speaker 2 (08:17):
And if you have trouble sleeping, showering at night may
actually help you. So experts are saying to hop in
the shower about one to two hours before bed, because
research shows it helps cool your core temperature, making it
easier to fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer. The
warm water triggers your body's natural wind down mode and
even boosts your next day brain power. So you can

(08:38):
still take morning showers, especially if you know you work
out in the morning or anything like that, but nighttime
ones may be your secret weapon for more effective sleep.
I'm Ricky Sanchez, and those are the three things you
need to know.

Speaker 1 (08:49):
Thank you, Ricky. Are you strictly when do you shower?
I feel like I should know that about you, and
I go I don't know. Do we shower typically.

Speaker 2 (08:58):
At night or in the afternoon to ending on my workout?

Speaker 1 (09:01):
And have you noticed that a night shower would lead
to better sleep.

Speaker 2 (09:04):
I'm not the right person to ask. I'm a horrible sleeper.
I have anxiety, insomnia, all the things. It makes no
sense that I work in morning radio.

Speaker 1 (09:12):
Okay, thank you for thank you. You asked right after
this song. It's time to learn on this Friday morning.
Zach's Fact's next on.

Speaker 3 (09:23):
Ricky's Zach and Meno in the morning.

Speaker 2 (09:25):
Kevin, It's Friday. You know what that means.

Speaker 1 (09:27):
I think it means we're gonna sing.

Speaker 2 (09:28):
We have to sing za Zach scout effactch gout.

Speaker 1 (09:32):
Effect, zax gout effect. Just for you. Those are worst
rendition ever.

Speaker 2 (09:36):
One of seven five the River that was really bad.

Speaker 4 (09:39):
That was really bad about Zach Ricky. I feel like
you're gonna love this one because it is so petty.

Speaker 5 (09:45):
So the guy that created the very first cell phone,
his name is Martin Cooper, and he created in nineteen
seventy three, and apparently he went out on sixth Avenue
and Manhattan, took his phone out there and made the
very first public phone call from a cell phone one
of the men that he'd been competing with who developed
the device.

Speaker 2 (10:03):
That is amazing. That is so good.

Speaker 5 (10:06):
The very first cell phone call was in nineteen seventy
three from the guy that created it to call his
competitor man.

Speaker 1 (10:12):
And now those phones have ruined our lives. Thanks Martin Cooper.

Speaker 5 (10:15):
WHOA, I'm just shocked that it's only been like fifty years.

Speaker 4 (10:18):
But there's your fact of the day.

Speaker 3 (10:20):
Thanks Zach Ricky. Zach and Menno in the morning on
the River.

Speaker 1 (10:25):
Now that everybody's getting back to school, you know the
teachers the students. Zach found a thread on Reddit about
the strangest items kids have brought into the classroom.

Speaker 4 (10:35):
Yeah, I was reading it.

Speaker 5 (10:36):
In the first one that I read, I fell in
love with it was he brought his WiFi router from
home because he was mad at his mom and she
he knew that she needed to work from home, so
he brought He brought the Wi Fi router, and I
was like, I wonder what insane things teachers have seen
kids bring from home.

Speaker 2 (10:50):
Well, luckily we know a teacher, my fiance. I think
we should call him and ask him, like, if anyone's
ever brought anything crazy to square, I.

Speaker 4 (10:58):
Would love to talk to your fiance anytime of the day.
So let's do it.

Speaker 1 (11:01):
Gray. We're talking to AJ next. Then, kids, do not
take your WiFi rider out of the house.

Speaker 3 (11:07):
Ricky, Zach and Meno in the Morniky Zack.

Speaker 2 (11:10):
And Manna in the Morning. On one O seven five
the River, Zach found this Reddit thread of the weirdest
things that students have brought to school, which obviously made
me think of my fiance AJ. So we have AJ
on the line right now.

Speaker 1 (11:24):
Good morning, Good morning guys, Hey j welcome to the show, buddy.

Speaker 6 (11:29):
Thanks, it's good to be on.

Speaker 2 (11:31):
You've been a teacher now for how many years?

Speaker 4 (11:32):
Babe?

Speaker 6 (11:33):
This is my fourteenth fourteen.

Speaker 2 (11:36):
God, you're old. Okay, So tell me the weirdest thing
that you've had a student bring into your classroom.

Speaker 6 (11:44):
Yeah, I mean it's it's more of a weird I
guess progression. This one little guy who just loved to
bring in like little little trinkets from home, like stuff
that he would just grab off the shelf and like
put in his backpack, and his parents knew that he'd it,
but never really knew what he was taking. But then
he would pull it out and he would show us,

(12:06):
and over time they became like stranger and stranger little
trinkets and then like ultimately became stuff that could like
you know, be seen as like weapons in school, where
it's like, hey, you know what, we're just going to
hold on to that for you for today and and
thanks for showing us.

Speaker 5 (12:24):
Started out really cute, like I want to show how
cool the stuff is at my house.

Speaker 6 (12:29):
My most recent experience with it was a high schooler
brought in like an old cassette radio with like the
antenna and everything and he was so stoked to show
it to everyone in class, and he wanted to play
the radio in class and he was all about it,
and I was like, Hey, I know a super cool
radio station and a super cool morning show that's on
right now. Why don't we put it on? You know.
That led to them getting a shout out from you guys,

(12:51):
and they thought that was the coolest thing.

Speaker 1 (12:53):
See, my mind went to Bobby Bones.

Speaker 2 (12:58):
You're the worst. I think it's so funny that they
wanted to show off a cassette rate like an old
radio boom box. That's wild to me.

Speaker 6 (13:08):
Yeah, it was wild. It was wild. I was getting
messages from like my colleagues about like this kid leaving
it in different spaces all over the school because he
would just forget about it, Like yeah, that's what you
can bring that to me?

Speaker 2 (13:22):
Ye that? Oh babe. I'm sure you have more and
more stories that you can tell. But I appreciate you
so much and thank you for being a teacher.

Speaker 6 (13:31):
Oh thank you. I appreciate you guy having me on
to share some of my stories.

Speaker 1 (13:35):
We second that. We second what she said, thank you
for doing what you're doing, and we hope it's a
great school here for you.

Speaker 5 (13:39):
Oh, thanks, guys, goodbye, sweetie, have a fabulous day.

Speaker 4 (13:43):
Tell all your kiddos that we said.

Speaker 3 (13:44):
Hi.

Speaker 6 (13:45):
Oh I, well, hope you guys have an awesome day too.

Speaker 2 (13:47):
All right, love you babe, bye.

Speaker 6 (13:49):
Love you too, Love you.

Speaker 1 (13:51):
Uh does he ever use like his like strict teacher
voice around the house.

Speaker 2 (13:55):
Uh? No, I don't know. I'm sure he has one.

Speaker 4 (13:58):
I don't think he does.

Speaker 2 (13:59):
I'm sure he does because he can be very like
straightforward and stern when he needs to be. I just
don't know that I take him that.

Speaker 4 (14:10):
I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (14:13):
Ricky, Zach and men in five the River, we're playing
Kevin Manner's Game of the Day, which happens to be
topical Trivia today for tickets to see the Weekend at
Nissan Stadium next week.

Speaker 1 (14:24):
Yeah, that show's coming up on Tuesday. Let's say good
morning to Kelly and Clarksville. Hi, Kelly, Hey good. We're
doing well over here. How are you I'm doing dude?
You got any big plans this weekend?

Speaker 3 (14:35):
No?

Speaker 2 (14:35):
No, not really, that's okay. Hopefully you have big plans
next week if you win this game.

Speaker 1 (14:40):
For sure, Like Ricky said, it's topical trivia, so it's
some questions, trivia questions based on things happening in the world,
mostly pop culture stuff. If you get two out of
three of them, right, you're going to see the weekend.
Are you ready?

Speaker 6 (14:51):
I'm ready?

Speaker 1 (14:51):
All right, Here we go, Kelly. Your game starts right now.
The MTV vm A nominations just came out. And what
river artist officially leads with twelve? I'll give you a hint,
because that's kind of tough. She did put out an
album relatively recently called Mayhem.

Speaker 4 (15:17):
I'll give you another hint. Are you a little monster.

Speaker 1 (15:20):
That was not a safe? That was not a sanctioned hint?

Speaker 4 (15:25):
You have the point, yes, ma'am. It was Lady Gaga.

Speaker 1 (15:30):
All right, congratulations. One point on the board. Who stars
as mister Fantastic in the new Fantastic four movie? No hints,
no hints.

Speaker 4 (15:49):
You cannot phone a friend this time because I don't
know the answer.

Speaker 1 (15:55):
Oh when you said pass, I thought you're Pedro Pascal.

Speaker 2 (16:00):
Yeah, that's okay, that's all right if you get the
next one right, and then you win.

Speaker 1 (16:04):
Another music related question here. Who is releasing a new
album called Man's Best Friend at the end of this month?
All right, here's a hint. What what was Jesus's profession?

Speaker 4 (16:25):
How is that?

Speaker 2 (16:26):
That isn't the worst hint? Helpful?

Speaker 3 (16:29):
What do you mean?

Speaker 1 (16:36):
Wasn't he a carpenter?

Speaker 6 (16:39):
No, but I just off for some reason, I connected
man to man child and I just shouted out Sabrina carpenter.

Speaker 2 (16:47):
So your hint didn't mean anything. She just knew it
and hit her. And that's all that you need to know.
What the game you're seeing the weekend?

Speaker 6 (16:55):
Awesome?

Speaker 1 (16:56):
Thank you so much, Thank you, thank you for listening,
thank you for calling and playing. Thanks, thank you for
starting your day with Ricky, Zach and Mano in the morning.

Speaker 2 (17:02):
Awesome.

Speaker 6 (17:03):
Thank you so much.

Speaker 3 (17:04):
One, Ricky, Zach and Meno in the Morning.

Speaker 1 (17:08):
Happy Friday, friends, we made it to the weekend. Every
Friday over here we do what we call the leftovers.
We all get thirty seconds, Ricky Zach, myself, thirty seconds
to go over a topic that didn't make the show
this week.

Speaker 4 (17:20):
I feel like we always got to start with you, Ricky,
you always do want to start with me.

Speaker 2 (17:23):
All right, I'll go first. I will start my timer.
This one is just it sounds like a happy ending,
but it's when you know you should just give up
on something.

Speaker 3 (17:30):
All right.

Speaker 2 (17:32):
This guy proposed to his girlfriend forty three times in
seven years. This story's going viral because she finally said
yes the forty third time.

Speaker 4 (17:43):
I'm so confessed.

Speaker 2 (17:45):
I know you're thinking, like, Ricky, this is a story
on why you shouldn't give up. I think if you
need to ask somebody forty three freaking times to do anything,
it's not worth it. No, no way that Okay, we're
all in agreement. Yeah, I'm so happy we all agree
on this because my time is.

Speaker 4 (18:01):
Time is up.

Speaker 2 (18:01):
And that is just the c easiest thing.

Speaker 4 (18:03):
I've ever heard.

Speaker 1 (18:03):
I don't want to wear somebody down into agreeing to
marry you.

Speaker 4 (18:07):
Finally say yes. That's so awkward.

Speaker 2 (18:09):
All right, Zach, you want to go next?

Speaker 4 (18:10):
I'm righty, you got the timer, I got the timer.
Let's go. Okay.

Speaker 5 (18:13):
So I have a list of tips and tricks on
when you know it's actually time to leave a party,
because I just feel like most of our friends do this.
They linger way too long. So it's a whole reriddit thread.
And the number one is when it's down to two
people and the other one lives there, it's your time
to go or when the host starts cleaning up while people.

Speaker 4 (18:30):
Are they're still there.

Speaker 1 (18:31):
I do that all the time.

Speaker 4 (18:32):
Time to grab your things and go. That's the that's
the cue that you have got to leave.

Speaker 5 (18:36):
There's just so many different things of like you also
have to learn to sense the vibe shift, Like whenever
a number of people that were already there when you
arrived and they left, it's time to leave.

Speaker 1 (18:45):
Time's up, Zach, thank you for that. Does this seem
like a good time to just say hi to our
friend Kate?

Speaker 4 (18:53):
She is exactly who I was talking about.

Speaker 2 (18:56):
You just when to leave?

Speaker 3 (19:00):
Then?

Speaker 1 (19:00):
You ready?

Speaker 4 (19:00):
All right?

Speaker 1 (19:00):
I'm ready to start the timer. Saw this new list
of the ten most hated foods in America, and I
just wanted to rattle off the top five and see
where you guys stand on these five.

Speaker 2 (19:11):
Let's go.

Speaker 1 (19:12):
Okay, squid I like it. Yeah, okay, it's the fifth
most hated food in America. Tofu I like it.

Speaker 2 (19:19):
I love correctly.

Speaker 1 (19:20):
Yes, I'm a vegetarian. I need a lot of tofu sardines.
Oh you're both out on sardines yeaheah.

Speaker 4 (19:27):
Liver, No, it depends on how it's cooked.

Speaker 1 (19:31):
Really, I've never had live I don't think. Uh, last
number one here anchovies.

Speaker 2 (19:36):
I could do anchovies, depending on how you make them.

Speaker 4 (19:39):
I don't think I know what an anchovy is. Oh no,
they're the little fish. No no, no, no, no, no.

Speaker 1 (19:45):
They're very salty, aren't they They are?

Speaker 2 (19:48):
They are very salty.

Speaker 1 (19:50):
Well, those are the most hated foods in America.

Speaker 2 (19:52):
And that concludes the leftovers.

Speaker 1 (19:56):
Of the River Ricky, Zach and Mano in the morning
seven five of the River. It's time for the Daily
able to tab. Ricky picked this one, and I think
she's trying to say something with this daily double tab.

Speaker 2 (20:04):
I really am, because it's about how I feel almost
all the time. But I know, you know, it's Friday,
but people are starting it back into their routines because
some schools have started. And yeah, this is probably gonna
be very relatable for you as well, about how it
feels to get back to those routines after a vacation.

Speaker 1 (20:19):
I want to be in Italy. I am not meant
to sit at a desk.

On Purpose with Jay Shetty

On Purpose with Jay Shetty

I’m Jay Shetty host of On Purpose the worlds #1 Mental Health podcast and I’m so grateful you found us. I started this podcast 5 years ago to invite you into conversations and workshops that are designed to help make you happier, healthier and more healed. I believe that when you (yes you) feel seen, heard and understood you’re able to deal with relationship struggles, work challenges and life’s ups and downs with more ease and grace. I interview experts, celebrities, thought leaders and athletes so that we can grow our mindset, build better habits and uncover a side of them we’ve never seen before. New episodes every Monday and Friday. Your support means the world to me and I don’t take it for granted — click the follow button and leave a review to help us spread the love with On Purpose. I can’t wait for you to listen to your first or 500th episode!
