Flacco finds a way to become a freaking pro bowler

I'm actually very proud of you, because I'm somebody that
waits until like the one o'clock hour.
Speaker 1 (02:05):
Even when it comes to day drinking.
Speaker 2 (02:07):
I don't know if it's because of I'm just in
the mindset of, Okay, I get it, it's weekend. But
also what if my wife calls me just like, honey,
god do something like this is the part about getting
married that sometimes bos crap at me.
Speaker 1 (02:18):
I'm like, I can't have fun. I get it, I
get it, but I mean, you know, got after it
a little bit. Last night shout out dirty boxing over
there at bayous Any Music Center. It was a lot
of fun and yeah, got got after a little bit.
Yes here hungover house. The tequila, the tequila was flowing.
What you have I did, Okay, I didn't. We went
with calsam Egos Costa Noble, the second one. So it
(02:41):
was it was a good night. It was a lot
of fun.
Speaker 2 (02:43):
Seven one three two one two phone lines are open
if you want to join us. Seven one threw two
five seven ninety. All right, Dan, I have gotten to
the point of where we are, over the doom and
gloom of the Houston Texans not being in the Super Bowl.
It's gonna be New England and it's gonna be the
Seattle Seahawks. Okay, either way, what the gonna walk away
a winner and one of them's gonna walk away and
ask themselves what can we do to improve?
Speaker 1 (03:05):
Now here's the thing.
Speaker 2 (03:05):
There's been nine coaching hires made or eight, with the
ninth expected Clint Kubiaks get one of the two jobs,
whether it be Arizona or Las Vegas. He's gonna get
a move and then eventually he is gonna be taking
over another play design.
Speaker 1 (03:19):
The thing that I look at right now when it.
Speaker 2 (03:21):
Comes to Texans is everyone's pivoting towards twenty twenty six.
Speaker 1 (03:25):
I get that. I'm not worried. I'm not even a
little bit worried about where the Texans are.
Speaker 2 (03:30):
And maybe it's because of where my brain is of Okay,
I have realistic expectations. This team is probably gonna finally
get to the level of maybe a conference championship. If
all things go according to plan, it may end up
being in a Super Bowl out.
Speaker 1 (03:46):
Where's it next year, Los Angeles? Yeah? Next year? It's
so fine.
Speaker 2 (03:49):
So maybe that's just the way my brain works because
I'm so gung ho on thinking, Okay, things are gonna change.
But here's the thing, Dan, with all these coaching hires
that are being made, look at coaching.
Speaker 1 (04:00):
I say, that's gonna.
Speaker 2 (04:01):
Be the priority for the Texans moving forward, and that's
gonna be the priority to guarantee yourself in the Super Bowl.
Speaker 1 (04:05):
Think about the two guys.
Speaker 2 (04:06):
That are currently gearing up for a trip for Super
Bowl sixty out in Santa Clara. Mike Rabel, former player
one of the most underappreciated names. When he was with
the Tesnsee Titans, got the program to its first ever
conference title appearance since two thousand and He ends up
doing it with Ryan Tannehill, and he ends up doing
it with the lackluster offensive line and some missing pieces defensively.
Speaker 1 (04:29):
Then talk about Mike McDonald.
Speaker 2 (04:31):
Mike McDonald went from being the defense coordinator at the
University of Michigan taking them to a college football playoff,
to then become the defense coordinator at the Baltimore Ravens
to Baltimore fans losing their minds and saying, good God,
why the hell did we hold on for John Harbaugh
when we had him in the building, And now two
years later he has less than ten losses. Oh and
he also has four cores away with Sam Darland as
(04:52):
his quarterback, going to a hoist of a Lombardi.
Speaker 1 (04:54):
Trophy if you wanted to take it even a step further,
like than the Baltimore Ravens, like my previous off at
Leana right, the Falcons interviewed both Frable and Mike McDonald
and that just shows you how jose it was, and
chose Raheem Moore.
Speaker 2 (05:09):
Openly like quite Newley said, Hey, you know what, these
two guys are very well respected, one young up and comer,
one dude.
Speaker 1 (05:15):
Who I'm I'm not sure if Mike, you know, Mike McDaniels,
is gonna.
Speaker 2 (05:22):
Be you know, just good vibes, just just just we
went for the vibes looking guess what a backfire. But
the thing is is that both of those guys are
highly respected among their peers in the NFL, and coaching
is gonna be the biggest factor.
Speaker 1 (05:33):
Brother, I hate to be the.
Speaker 2 (05:34):
Very bad news, but I'm telling you, if you have
any doubt that Demiico Ryans is not the right guy
in charge of the Texans, you're sadly mistaken. And at
this point that's all I'm pivoting to because look at
some of the moves that ever made this offseason. Buffalo
is still gonna have Josh Allen, great quarterback, MVP quarterback.
He has the first year play caller, first year head coach,
Lamar Jackson, two time MVP. It's the playoffs. This past year,
(05:58):
they decided to move off one of the winning his
coaches in in NFL history, first time plaid coach.
Speaker 1 (06:03):
You talk about Kansas City.
Speaker 2 (06:04):
They're finally gonna have to pay the luxury tax of
having a quarterback like Patrick Mahomes on its roster because
it what's gonna cost the Angles salary and they're losing
some pieces. Los Angeles still has one, mister Justin Herbert.
The Bengals are somehow the team that has the most
veteran coach in the AFC North mainship and fire two
years ago. The Steelers are going with Mike McCarthy, So
(06:25):
basically they're going from defensive Mike Tomlin to offensive Mike Tomlin,
and they don't know what they're doing at quarterbacks as
hit New England's still gonna be a threat, but eventually
they're gonna have to pay some pieces and there are
some names that will leave in free agency. And the
Texans still have ten returning starters under contract next season. Defensively,
they have money that will open on up if they
(06:45):
are to release Joe Mixon. They have four picks inside
the top seventy. They have eight total picks.
Speaker 1 (06:51):
They're gonna have anywhere.
Speaker 2 (06:52):
I think by the end when we see restructures and
contract negotiations and all the other stuff that goes with it,
they're gonna have about thirty million dollars in cap space.
Speaker 1 (07:00):
And they're asking c. J.
Speaker 2 (07:01):
Stroud, Hey, dude, be a game mancher. We're not asking
to be elite. Drake May got to be a game
manager in the postseason. Look where that let him. Look
at what Sam Darld did in that game against San
Francisco forty nine ers, and look where he's playing right now. Honestly,
at this standpoint, Dimiko Ryans being in my opinion, a
top seven head coach in the NFL gives the Texans
every advantage to where, yes, this season went awry.
Speaker 1 (07:24):
You hate this with CJ. Stroud.
Speaker 2 (07:26):
You have questions long term about what do you want
to do when it comes to your play calling? You
got questions long term what do you want to do
when it comes to your quarterback? And I get that,
but you got the coach, And honestly, at this point,
now more than ever, I think coaching is the dominant
factor that will make or break teams when they go
and try to punch there take it to the super Bowl.
Speaker 1 (07:43):
Well, I mean, you know you just brought up Kansas City.
I mean, that's that's been the concetant for them for
the longest time. It's been Andy Reid. But I think
this is a little bit of two per good, one
for bad. Where the two that are good is coaching continuity,
is Demiko Ryans and seemingly being able to make income
mental improvements every single year. Where last year, remember one
(08:03):
of the biggest things was the penalties. The penalties are
what cost you in games. The penalties are what killed
you this year. It wasn't necessarily the timeliness of the penalties.
They still committed a lot of them, right, but it
wasn't necessarily where it was. Oh my god, you just
absolutely killed the drive because longer third and one and
Laromy touncil jumps off side, you had a holding, you
had a you know, a you know, you false started
(08:26):
any of those different things.
Speaker 2 (08:28):
I mean, if I hear one more legal motion shift,
I'm gonna lose it next season, because that was the
one that stuck out the most this year.
Speaker 1 (08:33):
You you and somebody else who would throw on a
headset and talk about games all the time, but you know,
the potential bad here is. I mean, like everything you
just said is valid one hundred percent. It's CJ Stroud.
It's what are we getting in twenty twenty six. I mean,
that's that's really that's the key of all of this
is it's about CJ. And if we get the guy
(08:55):
that's somewhat closer to twenty twenty three. With everything else
you just mentioned, there's no reason to not believe that
this team can do some special things next year. But again,
as we talk about usually every single week, day six
to ten and am right here on Sports Talk seven ninety,
people are tired of hype. People want to see the results.
Speaker 2 (09:14):
People who want to see the results and that's fine,
but I look at it from the standpoint of I'm
still going about my division.
Speaker 1 (09:20):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (09:21):
Liam Cohen great first year, also played the fourth place schedule,
also had the benefactor of not really having to worry
about most teams because they went up against one of
the week of pass rush in the NFL.
Speaker 1 (09:31):
So I got.
Speaker 2 (09:31):
Him come back for year two. Was it the chicken
or the egg? Was Trevor Lawrence actually a good quarterback?
Or was this just all smoking mirrors because it was
a new offense personnel.
Speaker 1 (09:40):
Let's throw him out there. Yeah, let's go to Robert Salow.
Speaker 2 (09:44):
Robert Salad coached the Jets, so I automatically am giving
you a mulligan. You had to spend years working in
that organization, so I have no idea if you actually
are a good coach or not.
Speaker 1 (09:52):
Wait you know, hey, we're hiring a retread. He coached
with the Jets. All right, all right, I take that back.
I take that back.
Speaker 2 (09:58):
There was a there's a guy named Kent Sport who
does like these comedy bits on TikTok, and he said, uh,
they were doing like an interview process of him with
Amy ims Struck, and it's like, hey, so what was
during this four year period that looks just stark and gloomy.
Speaker 1 (10:10):
Oh, I coach the New York Jets. Oh, you're hired
like just because that they knew automatically. We can't take
you seriously. We're treating you if you come from the
Jets or the Browns, we're treating you like a first
time head coach, because it's like, eh, like I'm it's
not like anybody really has a chance, Like I'm.
Speaker 2 (10:26):
Still sitting here and holding on hoe for Aaron Glenn.
It's not gonna come with the Jets. It's gonna be
two or three years down the line. Like let's say
Kevin Sefanski sucks and the Falcons highre him, and then
lo and behold he takes the tinto.
Speaker 1 (10:35):
Super Bowl, and it's like, how the hell are you
doing it?
Speaker 2 (10:38):
Well, you're not being pigeonholed by Woody Johnson an incompetent
quarterback play where the greatest pastor of all time hasn't
played since the nineteen sixties and goes by Broadway Joe like,
I'm sorry. We're at that level of where it's okay
to say you're not okay, And so Robert Salad going
to Nashville, so respect him as a defense coordinator, gets
a second shot of being a head coach.
Speaker 1 (10:57):
Demiko Ryans has had his fair share struggles out.
Speaker 2 (10:59):
To facing off against him. Did lose that game to him,
then lost the Jets second time. I mean to lost
it just first time, so that it is something that
you gotta pay attention to.
Speaker 1 (11:08):
And then you throw in the Indianapolis coach with.
Speaker 2 (11:13):
No quarterback situation, where Shane Sichton is probably going to
have to show if he has the chops to be
a legit head coach that can last in the NFL.
You're gonna lose pieces in free agency because you always do.
Your salary cap took a major hit. You don't have
a first round pick this year, you don't have a
first round pick next year, and you're gonna be trusting
your scouting department, which by the way, features Chris Ballard
who gave away too first round picks and said Anthony Rootson,
(11:35):
that dude who's played fourteen college football games, franchise difference maker.
Speaker 1 (11:39):
That guy's my dude. They're leading the charge. So it's
like I look at it. Even from that.
Speaker 2 (11:44):
Standpoint, the Texans are still gonna be the favorites in
the AFC South, and well they should because of I
look at the coach and say Collinson won and done. Potentially, Sala,
I have no idea because you're coached out in Florham Park.
And by the way, Shane Sichton, don't let the door
hit you on the way out when Daniel Jones comes
back down to reality. So like, even at that level,
you're gonna be in the playoffs and then it comes
down to the adjustments. And at this point, what more
(12:05):
do you need to see from Demika Ryans because if
he's been in every situation minus an AFC Championship game,
but he would be also the.
Speaker 1 (12:13):
First coach in Francis history to ever accomplish that. Feet well,
I mean it's not it's also too I mean, you know,
talking about the Jags, I mean you almost wonder if
Liam Cohen, I mean, I know he's gonna get great
Yedinsky back and a lot of people they're really huge
on him, But does he even call the plays? Could
could it even be a little bit of either of
those guys? Could it be a little bit of Bobby
Slowik in year two where the league catches up to you,
(12:34):
and the league is like, oh, Trevor did this to
get better. Okay, that's nice. We saw this over a
few months of an offseason. Now we know how to
attack him on this, and he's not as effective all
of a sudden. I mean, the one that keep an
eye on, I would say of the three is Tennessee
with all the draft capital they've got, and I mean
they finally it seems like have made the right moves
(12:57):
because I'm with you on SLA was in a bad situation.
Now it was in a crap shoot. It was it
was never going to work out. It doesn't work out
for anybody not named Rex Ryan.
Speaker 2 (13:07):
He had to wear the biggest clown knows when he
was probably the least amount of troubles out there, and.
Speaker 1 (13:10):
Then for a few years maybe a little bit of
Herm Edwards in there, But other than that, it's been
just futility when it comes to the Jets. But you
talk about the draft capital. I thought kem Ward showed
some good things last year. I thought Shumir d k
is a pretty good receiver. Like they've got parts of
that team that I think of the a little bit.
With Tennessee, it's kind of like the Texans, where you
(13:32):
have a good draft, then all of a sudden things
start to look up for you and things start to
turn around for you. So I would say, of the
teams that are trending up, you would probably have to
look at the Tennessee Titans, and a little bit of
neutral at Jacksonville, and then with Indianapolis, I have no
idea what they're doing foot lines.
Speaker 2 (13:50):
You're up in seven one, three, two, two, five, seven ninety.
I want your opinion, Damika Ryan's top seven coach in
the NFL. Do you still believe as long as he
is down at NRG drive, Texans are a viable threat
for the Super Bowl year in and year ound seven
one three, two, one two, five, seven ninety. Come join
us out at Cedar Creek for the seventh annual Gumbo Cookoff.
Say hello to Dan, say hello to we weers truly,
(14:12):
grab an ice cold beer, we get to a quick
time out and we come back.
Speaker 1 (14:15):
Actually, Dan just brought up my next point.
Speaker 2 (14:18):
There is a team that you actually had to worry
about if you are in the AFC South and spoiler alert,
at AH Trevor Lawrence's roster. We'll be back out here
on Sports Talk seven ninety rore after this Space Day
Saturday rolling ride along here on Sports Talk seven ninety,
Cole Tomas will rock with you live from Cedar Creek.
Speaker 1 (14:36):
Out here in ahe Town.
Speaker 2 (14:37):
Seventh Annual Gumbo Cookoff Stop Humbai, Say hello, get your
ton nice cold one. Enjoy over twenty different recipes of
gumbo as we crown a renner this year. Seven one
three two one two ninety is the number to get
in on Cincinnati Takes on Houston Tip Underway. You can
listen to the game over at nine fifty Paul George,
see you layer, dude. You got a twenty five game
(14:59):
suspension now out because of a ped scandal. And of
course we're getting off the air at twelve thirty because
you can listen to your Texas Longhorns. Pregame starts then
seven one three two one two five seven ninety.
Speaker 1 (15:10):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (15:11):
So the reality is is that somebody is gonna have
to eventually turn to the to the New England Patriots
of twenty twenty four. Meye, twenty twenty six, just like
the Texans were in twenty twenty three, and much like
we could even say to a certain extent, the Jacksonville
Jaguars were in twenty twenty five.
Speaker 1 (15:26):
Dan's gonna be the Tennessee Titans, And I hate that.
I do, I really do. And I know that there's
gonna people in there.
Speaker 2 (15:32):
Well cool, you complain all the time and make fun
of the Amy Adams Struck born than anybody else.
Speaker 1 (15:35):
I do, cause she sucks because she's not a good owner.
She's not gonna what she does.
Speaker 2 (15:39):
She fired Mike Vrabole thinking that he was the problem, which,
by the way, I understand they lost, like they lost
like six, they only won like six their last games
in the last two years, but like still, they made
a good hire like and this is what I hate
about incompetent organizations. It's like they constantly find a way
to kick the can down the road. And eventually an
adult shows up in the room and stays, hey, you
(16:00):
know what we're done with this.
Speaker 1 (16:02):
Let's go make a big boy move. And that's what
they did by hiring Robert Sala.
Speaker 2 (16:06):
And then Robert Sallas steps on in the building and
he says, Okay, I like the quarterback, but I really
want to get somebody who knows how to develop him.
Speaker 1 (16:13):
Pretty well. Hey, Brian Dable, I hear that you're not
getting the job out in Buffalo. How much? Come join
forces me out in Nashville. Cool.
Speaker 2 (16:20):
Cool, that's fantastic. Let's just throw that into the Knicks.
You brought up cam Ward. I'm not buying into it.
I don't really care. I still think he's gonna be
a bottom ten quarterback in the NFL. But I've been
wrong before. I probably will be wrong again. Shimudi game
was really fun. The offensive line, he's onto work.
Speaker 1 (16:39):
Here's the beauty. They got a lot of money.
Speaker 2 (16:41):
They got the most money to spend in couch space
this upcoming off season, and they play a fourth play schedule,
and their schedule is relaxes all hell, dude. I mean,
you look at some of the names and the outcomes.
It's gonna be really interesting to see when those games
are because we're not gonna know exactly who plays where
and what we can till like middle of March. Like
the Titans, they have everything right now to where I
(17:04):
can look at them and say, ten wins is gonna happen,
isn't it like?
Speaker 1 (17:08):
And if it's not ten, it's gonna be.
Speaker 2 (17:10):
Like nine and eight, And they're gonna sneak their way
in as like the last wild card team and then
watch them be the surprise roster that beats a two seed.
Speaker 1 (17:17):
Well, I mean, I think the biggest thing for them is,
you know, cam Ward is really the determining factor because
I almost feel like he had a rookie season that
we would have been fine around here if CJ had
had over the rookie season that CJ had where it was,
you know, all the promise and then you know thinking, oh,
that's it's gonna only get better from here, and it
(17:38):
never did. But I mean, he's got room to grow.
He's got a chance to get even better. But I
mean he showed enough good things though in year one
where you're like, you know what, you get him the
right people around him, he can probably do some good things.
I mean I mentioned DK, one of his receivers, a
really good target for him. And clearly they're probably gonna
add even more in the draft or free agency. And
(17:59):
remember Ember, we did the salary cap exercise the other day.
There the team's got the most in the NFL to spend,
like the absolute most in the NFL. I got about
ninety four million dollars, so they were under the cap
this year. By the way, did you.
Speaker 2 (18:11):
See the report yesterday about it going up to three
hundred and sixty million dollars?
Speaker 1 (18:14):
I mean, there you go throw in another thirty million
on top of that, exactly exactly, So I mean if
you're a free agent out there, and I mean you know,
on top of all of it, I mean, you know,
Buffalo's gonna get their new stadium this year. Right, you
bring guys in and you tell them, hey, you're signing
on where not only are you going to be able
to be in Nashville, which is selling point enough, but
(18:35):
also you're gonna be in a new stadium the following year.
Like how much more can we really kick in to
tell you? Like, this is the right time to get
in on this team.
Speaker 2 (18:43):
So when I went to Nashville to go see Illinois
State play Montana State, yes, I took a day off
of work to go watch the FCS National Championship and
I highly recommend if you ever have the time.
Speaker 1 (18:53):
To do so as well.
Speaker 2 (18:54):
It's freaking awesome. I gotta drove past the stadium, dude,
it's nice. Like I hate would you have to say
positive things.
Speaker 1 (19:01):
About a team that you crap on all the time,
but like, it's nice they did a good job of
putting the location of it. They like basically they took
what was the best.
Speaker 2 (19:09):
Part of Nissan and then like scrunched it on up
and put it into a ball and then said, we're
gonna build a box around it, and then we're gonna
have a trajectory spinning top roof that allows it to
be opened up in the summer and closing the winner.
Speaker 1 (19:19):
Well, I mean and on top of all of it too,
where you know, remember and this happens all the time
with stadiums where you know, Las Vegas is Las Vegas.
Everybody wants to get a Las Vegas. But yeah, for
a weekend, I want to live there, dude. But I mean,
you've got AT and T Stadium, which for the longest
time it was, hey, we need a big event, all right,
let's play it an AT and T Stadium. Now that
(19:40):
new stadium in Nashville, that's going to be kind of
like what San Diego used to be with the Super Bowl.
Sure like that is going to be one of those like, oh,
Nashville got the Super Bowl again. Oh who knew? Like
that's exactly what's going to happen when it comes to
the selection committee, you know, deciding who gets the game
is they're gonna decide to go there just because it's
proximity to basically Bourbon Street, like I would say, A
(20:04):
A A S. It's right across the Kamerland River. It's
right there, a slightly less raunchy version of bird Bourbon
Street with Broadway right there. Yeah. So I mean, I'm
telling you, man, I mean, I just I think that
if there is a team to buy stock in right now,
as much as it pains me to say it, it's
the team that used to be here, and it's the
team that now goes by. By the way, what did
you say was the s hour cap total for your Tessie?
(20:25):
They were currently with the salary cap the way it is,
they were ninety four million US.
Speaker 2 (20:30):
They're at ninety nine point one right now. And by
the way, that's before roster cut downs. I get rid
of a Calvin Ridley contract, I mean a hundred million dollars.
Speaker 1 (20:38):
See, and they're in the good place too. Where again,
we did the exercise the other day, and the Texans
by necessity have to do it. The Titans can just
do it because they're like, you just don't really fit
our future plans, Like there's a major difference there, like
where you're letting guys go because you're saying, hey, you
could be better off somewhere else, or hey, you you
(20:59):
just like really don't fit what we hope that you
are going to be here, as opposed to we really
would like to keep you, but your number is just
so much that we can't. And that's kind of where
the Texans.
Speaker 2 (21:09):
Are seven one, two, five, seven nine. And let's go
out to the guest line Ray in Miami. Ray, good morning, dude,
what's up.
Speaker 3 (21:18):
To answer your question before the break about Domico, I
think he is the top five to seven head coach.
You know, he's a very good guy and his defense
is just off the chain. If you give Dimico Mendoza
and oh you know, not overly in Las Vegas, give
him two years that in the Raiders with Mendoza, look
at the Miko, look at the Raiders. That guy is
(21:39):
an outstanding coach. He's not my favorite coach. My favorite
coach is the Rams because the Rams coach is going
to defend you and he's going to score on you.
Once Dimico get over the heel and he can score
and defend you, then he'll be my favorite coach. But
right now, the Rams head coach is my favorite coach
because the way he plays both sides of the football.
(22:01):
He's not so defensive mind to where he can't score,
and he's not so offensive mind to where he can't
stop me. He's an amazing coach also, But I like Jamiko.
I put him in the top five to seven. But
I'd really like to him to get towards the Rams coaching.
Speaker 1 (22:18):
I really will in now.
Speaker 3 (22:19):
Dat'll make the Texans off big a lot better football
team overall. I don't care about defense. I don't want
to go into September talking about defense. We know this,
Espian Keith.
Speaker 1 (22:29):
Drilling it on us.
Speaker 3 (22:31):
I don't hear about the offense. I rather, in our reality,
i'd rather have a high powered offense, like when the
Dolphins put up seventy on Denver. I'd rather have a
high powered offense and make you stop me as opposed
to Okay, I can stop you defensively, but I don't
know if I can score. You know, cause we've be
in a Super Bowl right now and we had a
(22:51):
high powered offense and a mid grade defense. God obviously
number one all year. Obviously Super Bowls. Don't you can,
don't want to sue vote defense. Thank you, Hannah.
Speaker 1 (23:03):
I appreciate the phone call, right I know I'm listening.
I'm of course I am.
Speaker 2 (23:07):
Look, I mean, we're at the point of at this
level of I get it. I do, but like you
have to make the best of his terrible situation, and
right now it's figure out what you gotta do to
change up CJ's approach so that way he doesn't mess
it up again, Like I mean, because that's it, because
because you're not losing almost anyone from this defense. He's
outso years back next season. Danil's back next season. WILLIAMERSONJ
(23:29):
Is gonna get paid a lot of money, and by
the way, he's earned every single penny of it, and
he's probably even earned a little bit more. Kamari's still
in a contract. Kaylan's still in a contract. Derek just
signed a long term deal, Jalen just signed a long
term deal. Henry Totoe has got one more year.
Speaker 1 (23:42):
Love on the deal.
Speaker 2 (23:42):
I mean, like like Sheldon Rankins is the one guy
that you're probably gonna be without. Tommy Togia you still
have on this like reserve deal. And by the way, like,
and I'm gonna talk senior in a minute, which I
know most of you don't care about.
Speaker 1 (23:54):
But if you've been paying attention to a guy by
the name.
Speaker 2 (23:56):
Of Caleb Banks from Florida, holy crap, dude, Like, can
you envision him as like the long term air replacement
for Sheldon Rankins and Tommy Toga and the like.
Speaker 1 (24:06):
You pair him with the Neil and will for like
the next four years.
Speaker 2 (24:10):
Good god, hell for the love of quarterbacks out there,
if he is as advertised as he was down a
mobile this past week, like, you're screwed. Like, honestly, if
I'm a quarterback, if I feel the pressure coming, I
would much rather just go ahead and drop down and
play dead than ever have to go ahead and get
hit by one of these guys.
Speaker 1 (24:27):
You know, I almost kind of feel like the Culverts guy,
the guy from Iowa. I can't remember who it is that,
you know, lost his mind yesterday when Mike Garrafollo told
him he'd never been the Colvers. But I mean, you
know what, like the was it the offensive lineman? Yeah,
it was an offensive lineman. Oh dude, he's like he's
got like mutton chopped beard.
Speaker 2 (24:45):
That's what I'm saying, you know what the problem is,
He's gonna go to freaking Seattle.
Speaker 1 (24:48):
He's gonna kill it.
Speaker 2 (24:49):
Like Texans will pass on him at twenty eight, Seattle
will get him at thirty two, and there's gonna be
Gray's able two point oh, and I'm gonna have to
sit here and say, see, I told you so.
Speaker 1 (24:56):
See I mean, but like that's the thing is, like
for the longest time we've been saying it about this,
I need guys like that in the locker room, Like
I need some weird minds. I I need some guys
that are a little different, like where as soon as
they get into a locker room, they're like, hey, you
know what, I'm a small town Midwest guy and I'm
here in the big city now, and you know now,
now I'm gonna I'm gonna start to do some things
like that. That's kind of like what I feel like
(25:17):
the Texans need to add to this team. Like you you,
you you've already done step one of Willy Anderson Junior,
where he's got all the characteristics. He's an absolute monster
on the field, but he's a guy that also too
brought that winning mindset into this locker room where he
was like, oh, you think you're doing it the right way.
Well here, I hate to do this because I know
it's kind of a node in the NFL, but I'm
gonna go back to what we did in college when
(25:39):
we won national titles. Let's go ahead and do it
the way that I do it. Seven one two ninety.
Guest line is open.
Speaker 2 (25:46):
Go ahead and get your calls in Rockets, Texans Astros.
Speaker 1 (25:50):
Yes, I'm gonna throw on some Astros conversation because, by the.
Speaker 2 (25:52):
Way, do you see Brian Kenny's list of shortstops. I
can only I got a bone to pick with that,
but I want to talk some Rockets. There is the
name to where if they add him in. I feel
very confident that once again the Rockets will be a
top three seed in the Western Conference.
Speaker 1 (26:08):
Who is that? I won't make your way to the
white flag that much longer?
Speaker 2 (26:10):
Seven one three, two one two five seven to ninety
gets chaste Buds, Reddy Houston Cedar Creek is heating on up.
We are here right now for the seventh annual Gumbo Cookoff.
You can come on down, crack open a nice cold beer,
enjoy a fun day filled with flavor, friendly competition and
feel good vibes. You can come sample over twenty different
styles at Gumbo that the backyard bat did the BUYU
backyard chefs have to offer de ice cold drinks, there's
(26:33):
live music, and there's plenty of creek style fun. Gets
tickets right now at even Bright don't miss it and
come say hi to Dan and I right here from
Sports Talk seven to ninety covers up by six five
minutes in Atfortita said you want to listen to the
game against Cincinnati here on sports TALG nine fifty. You
can go to that KPRC Sports Talk seven ninety though
spacely Satday rolls.
Speaker 1 (26:54):
Ve along right here at Cedar Creek.
Speaker 2 (26:58):
Damn, I gonna lie, dude, Like this is the weather
talk about, Like when the sun is out and it's
like forty eight degrees and the wind is chill. This
is where I complain about Texans all the time and
they gribe about how it's cold and that they can't.
Speaker 1 (27:10):
Stand being outside.
Speaker 2 (27:11):
Like the sun's gotta be in the right spot, the
wind's gotta be low. But if you're just complaining because
it's footy eight degrees out right now, like, come.
Speaker 1 (27:16):
On, man, this is one of those like where I'm
right there with you, where if the wind is good,
then like you got a good jacket on, it's comfortable,
You're fine, Like you know, you're not too hot because
you're wearing too heavy of a jacket, or you're not
too cold because you didn't dress enough. Like this is again,
you know, bring the right jacket. You can even throw
(27:37):
the puffer on and every once in a while, see
I feel like you're sweating that thing right now. No,
I'm good because I'm sweating in mine. No, I'm good.
I like have a just a barely pullover on. But
I but I also did I did the right thing
when it comes to uh, I've got to pull over
on underneath, so I mean like the proper amount of layerings.
So no, you're right, like you're out in the sun,
like I am right here. You feel good. It's I'm
(28:00):
telling you. If there was scratching sniff radio, and I
used to say this, oh god, what I did this?
But if there was scratching sniff radio where you got
the rue going, you got the trinity in there, they're
about to maybe even you know, if you like chicken
and sausage, they're gonna throw that in there. Maybe you
like shrimp and crab, They're gonna throw that in there,
all of it right here at the Cedar Creek Gumbo
Cookoff is always a fun time. This was always one
(28:23):
of my favorite shows of the year.
Speaker 2 (28:24):
Yeah, come on down and say hi to us. We're
gonna be doing them. I'm gonna be doing the MCing
from one to three. Then you got rod Ryan coming
on over from ninety four. Oh god, I did you Okay?
Speaker 1 (28:34):
That one's actually not the worst of impression that you've
had so far. That's actually a pretty good one. A
little bit of limp biscuits. You got some my way
coming your way right here, rod Ryan Show ninety four
to five. But by the way, we're off here at
twelve thirty.
Speaker 2 (28:45):
You can go ahead and listen to the Texas pre
game as the Longhorns take on Oklahoma. Game is gonna
be tip off at one o'clock all so you can
watch the game on ESPN two.
Speaker 1 (28:54):
Kobe White, how you feel, I mean, I wouldn't hate
it because of what he gives you from an offense perspective,
and I mean I'm off of a point guard. The
point guard perspective one that I think people love the
most absolutely as uh, you know, where you really do
need some good ball distribution and in a way too,
I mean I've railed against this for the longest time
(29:16):
Coal whenever we talk rockets on the show. Is you
need to get smaller, You really do, because some of
these lineups that are against you, where your length is
a good thing to have when you're playing against Denver,
when you're playing against Oklahoma City, like you could be
in a series against those teams. You don't have Shake
Gildess Alexander, you don't have Isaiah Hartenstein, even though you've
(29:37):
got Alfren shingun like, you don't have those parts to
be able to win the series. But I mean, I
could say without a pretty good shadow of doubt right
now that those series are going to less than six.
Speaker 2 (29:50):
He right now, to me is a guy that I
could trust to be a part time starter, full time
six man coming off of the bench, taking minutes away
from Reed Shepherd. But you feel confident that he's to
add it. I think more value in terms of the
offensive consistency and the separation.
Speaker 1 (30:04):
Here's the even better part of it, too, is I
think you get a men Thompson back to being a
men Thomas saw him playing more so out the two
or the three. Absolutely, the one, Absolutely, I mean I
I think that that's the best version of a Men
Thompson that you can have, because that's what I think
is kind of creeping into his offensive game right now.
Like we're talking about he's not a good shooter. I
just think he's got so much on his plate that
(30:24):
the Rockets are trying to find a way to be
able to take as much off his plate as possible.
Because what have we been talking about with this team.
It's Kevin Durant, it's Alprin shing Gun, and then it's
every once in a while, Jabbari Smith Junior. Every once
in a while it's Tarry Easan. Like you just you're
looking for somebody to number three, constant number three. You're
(30:45):
looking for somebody to be a little bit more of
a consistent number three for sure.
Speaker 2 (30:48):
Have you seen what the asking price is going for
right now when it comes to Kobe White, I have not.
Speaker 1 (30:53):
Doriy and Finney Smith is part of the package. So
automatically see a later best Yeah, don't care. That's that's
that's an absolute for me, one first round pick. If
that's all it's gonna take to go bring in Kobe Wide.
I'm one hundred percent of the deal. Rafel Stone.
Speaker 2 (31:08):
If you have not got on the line and said
when can we get this done, you're not doing your
job properly well.
Speaker 1 (31:12):
And also too. You mean you got the injured player
exception with fred Van Vliepian out, So I mean that's
that's even more money that you've got working for you.
But I mean I say it all the time, Cole.
If my general manager, I don't care if it's danam Brown.
I don't care if it's Nick Caserio in this case,
I don't care if it's rafel Stone. If you're not
willing to do anything possible to make your team better,
(31:34):
I don't want you being my GM, period, end of story.
I don't need you prolonging things. I don't need you
saving things. I don't need you doing any of these things.
I mean, look at it years ago, Carol Dawson, when
it came to the Rockets, they just won a world title,
and you said, let's ship off these guys and let's
go get one of the best players in the NBA
and bring Clyde Drexler here. You don't win in ninety
(31:57):
five without Clyde Rus.
Speaker 2 (31:58):
Remember when Jeff went out and he brought in Garrett
Cole from the Pittsburgh Pirates exactly like you. You were
fresh off of winning a championship. He said, hey, we
want to run back round.
Speaker 1 (32:05):
Absolutely absolutely you didn't. I mean you ended up coming
up short, but still you went for it. Winning is
a hell of a drug, brother, it really is. And
that's the thing is that a lot of people believe
like after you win a title, and some teams do
fall into this trap of how we want a title,
we're good. But then you also have the teams that
do it right where they say, ooh man, you know what,
that hit my veins. I want more.
Speaker 2 (32:26):
The thing for me is, just like you, you kind
of mentioned this, I want a constant three and the
three doesn't have to be a starter now again, Kobe
White's bean started the last two years. His past season,
he started twenty four to twenty seven games, currently dealing
with an injury, so partially that's why he hasn't been
starting games.
Speaker 1 (32:43):
But I feel like that the consistency of what I'm.
Speaker 2 (32:45):
Going to get from him offensively will take a lot
of pressure off of Am and Thompson take a lot
of pressure off of Jabari Smith. Will not force Reach
Shepherd to have to come off the bench and be
one of the more big time facilitators in the get go.
Speaker 1 (32:56):
It'll make Reach Shepherd what you want him to be.
You want him to stuff Curry.
Speaker 2 (33:01):
But you want him you want him be to You
want him to be playing less than twenty five minutes
a night. You probably want him shoot anywhere between twelve
to eighteen points per game like that, that's what you
want to Kobe White could probably do that.
Speaker 1 (33:11):
He's not bad defensively.
Speaker 2 (33:12):
I think he'd be a better facilitator up top than
what you have currently in the building. And that includesive
for Reid were to continue to grow into who he is,
which again I think has a number two if the
ass there. And by the way, like Chicago wants to
move off him beause Chicago still is in this run
of we know that we're not good, but we're mid.
We kind of want to sucks. That way, we can
actually get some draft compensation.
Speaker 1 (33:32):
The Curse of Jerry Krause. It's like, well, okay, it's
a hint for starters.
Speaker 2 (33:38):
Ryan Storff and him both deserve to rot in a
special place in the seventh layer of hell for my opinion,
because my dad grew up in Chicago and he cannot
stand rhyin Storf for a whole bunch of other reasons
and Krous But still like they're in that middling position
of we need draft picks and this is a guy
that we want to see be shipped off elsewhere to
win a champ like to win a championship. I don't
think that getting a Kobe White changes the entire saying
(34:00):
me of where your roster is in terms of championship mentality.
It bodes it better. I think that it guarantees you
a top four seed in the Western Conference. I think
the leans more in your favor to go up against
a team like Denver that still is dealing with the
Yokichen drin because he just came back last night for
the first time in almost two months. But like still
making a move like this I think gets you over
(34:20):
that next top of where if you were to play
a seven game series in San Antonio, you're at least
feeling confident it's going to seven. You go play against Denver,
you feel confident it's going to seven.
Speaker 1 (34:29):
Well, I mean and I think the other part of
it too, is the Texans are kind of are the
Rockets are kind of in the same position that the
Texans were, Yeah, one in front of the other, where
you can add some fine tuning. You don't have to
really go ahead and go all in and try to
get a yannisin at Kupo. I mean, because you've got
a guy that's pretty much on the level right now,
(34:51):
he's not as good as well. You also can't afford
you honest like like I that's and that's where I
was going with it, is that, like you don't have
to try to crane and stretch this thing out and
then make the trade for him, and you're like, hey,
that's great, we got Giannis. Who'd we give up? Oh
my god, because would be in the deal. That's a guarantee.
Speaker 2 (35:08):
Oh.
Speaker 1 (35:08):
I think first round picks being the deal. I think
would be in the deal. I think Fred. I think
Fred's contract would be in the deal. I think that
Tori would be in the deal. Like I, I think
that you would have so many parts of this that
would absolutely take away from overall the depth that you
got that makes your team what you is right now.
Speaker 2 (35:24):
Do you think he's moving though, Oh yeah, easily, uh right,
Number one. In my opinion, I don't care where Gianni's
going because he's not coming to Houston. Like I've accepted that,
I've moved on. I'm starting to look like the Texans
when the it's like the Tyler Lindenbaum stuff. I like, guys,
go swing big for Tyler Lindabaum being your dreams, but
accept the fact that Wyatt Teller or a Joe Battonio
is probably coming.
Speaker 1 (35:44):
To the offensive line. Like it's the same thing. I
just don't want him coming to the Western Conference. I mean,
that's the thing. Like I I think that if he
goes to the East and he goes to say New
York or New York, or if Boston is able to
pull it off and he goes to Boston, like I
could see that. I mean, you want to talk about
it an absolute all out coaching job being done in
the NBA right now. What Joe Mazzola is doing with
(36:06):
that with that Celtics team is unbelievable. Well, Jaylen Brown's
actually looking good, he really is. It is like awesome.
So I bought all the stock at Jaylen Brown two
years ago. But I mean, here Here's the thing is,
like I think a lot of people throw san Antonio
and I heard Matt and Ross say that the other day.
At least Matt brought it up. The team that I'm
not going to roll out is somehow Rob Polinka will
(36:26):
freaking pull this off well with the Lakers. Yeah, that
Polinka will pull this off. If he doesn't, what's the
price though, I mean, I I think that at least
Lebron's in there.
Speaker 2 (36:36):
For sure, it's Reeves in there is the question that
probably because Reeves feels like they like Reeves to me,
feels like the centerpiece of that move.
Speaker 1 (36:43):
Because you would have Luca, I think you have Giannis,
and those would be your two international stars and your
two front guys that would absolutely deliver an average around
what fifty eight to sixty two points per game. It
would be a very Lakers thing to do. I mean
it would because I mean, you got the star power
and uh oh we're getting beads here too. Oh let
me guess it's there.
Speaker 2 (37:00):
We go it's an LSU one, of course, yeah, we goers.
Speaker 1 (37:04):
I love it.
Speaker 2 (37:05):
You gotta be in Cloud nine right now. Knowing the
fact that Matt McMahon's probably gonna get fired. Baseball is
around the corner, and Jay John's gonna win another championship.
Speaker 1 (37:12):
You got laie.
Speaker 2 (37:13):
Oh and by the way, do you hear about Ole miss? No,
there's another scandal coming out against them.
Speaker 1 (37:17):
Oh, the Fresno State one. Fresno State one is star
coming out. You gotta be a cloud flight. It's almost
to the point here with with old miss like where
it's just like, hey, you were tampered with. Oh, I
was tampered with too.
Speaker 2 (37:28):
You were no way seven two five seven nine were
turning these guys in Kobe White Rocket?
Speaker 1 (37:35):
Yes or no? Do you want him here?
Speaker 2 (37:37):
I don't even care about the asking price, Just yes
or no? Get the phone line seven one three two
one two five seven ninety too A quick time out, Eddie.
Speaker 1 (37:43):
I got a bone to.
Speaker 2 (37:44):
Pick with you, you old decrepit son of a gun.
Stop ranking people when you does he make the list.
Stop ranking he does make the list. Stop ranking people
when you clearly have no indication of what your rankings in.
I'll explain that more on Space City Saturday. Next right
are on S four suck seven ninety Space A Saturday
rolls right along ride here at Cedar Creek. Come join
(38:07):
us for the seventh annual Gumbo Cookoff. Good food, good vibes.
Gotta mee, Dan Matthews, gonna go ahead a bunch of
me in the face if you want to.
Speaker 1 (38:14):
I really don't care. Thirty two twenty.
Speaker 2 (38:16):
I want to do that because if it's funny, and
you know what, if it gets people out here, that's
all I care about.
Speaker 1 (38:20):
Thirty two to twenty. Currently radio shows punched in the face.
I could see Channel two or Channel thirteen right now.
Speaker 2 (38:26):
Well, go to KPRC if you want to listen to
the Houston Couger's your number ten. Cougar's up by twelve
over Cincinnati at halftime. You can watch game on Fox.
We're off the year at twelve thirty because of it's
a one pm tip for the Texas Longhorns versus the
Oklahoma Oklahoma Sooners. You can listen to that game right
here on kb and Me and Paul George suspended for
twenty five games for ped scandals.
Speaker 1 (38:46):
Okay, Brian Kenny, you are a dweed. You are a loser.
Speaker 2 (38:51):
Nobody cares about your takes anymore, and it's time to
go ahead and put the fries in the back. Bro
I saw this list, and it's not just the fact
that Jerremy Pagan, by the way, is who we're gonna
be focusing in on to not make the.
Speaker 1 (39:03):
Top ten shortstops.
Speaker 2 (39:05):
Please read off and I'll tell you where Jeremy belongs
in and then who I think is absolutely atrociously ranked
way too high.
Speaker 1 (39:13):
Could you have the list put up, don't you? Yes?
I do so. Who's number one? Number one is Bobby
Is anybody arguing that? I don't think so? That's fine.
Number two Gunnar Henderson had a slow season last year,
definitely took a step back. I still bank on the upside.
I'm okay with him at number two. I could see
him be at number three, and that's fine. Francisco Lindor
see that would be that to me would be number two.
(39:33):
Power consistency, still good.
Speaker 2 (39:34):
Defensively, I think he's probably the most complete shortstop not
named Bobby wit.
Speaker 1 (39:38):
Junior, Eraldo Peromo, who poo oh the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Speaker 2 (39:42):
Now this is where the Jeremy Panninger conversation starts. I
understand he's good defensively. I understand he killed it last
year in Arizona. They think of him as being a
twenty twenty guy that also is gonna be exceptional with
the glove, But isn't Jeremy Pangkin.
Speaker 1 (39:56):
It's almost the exact same thing. I mean, that's exactly
what he is. I mean, and he's been so he's
a al Heraldo Panomo. He was serviceable at the bat
for the last two seasons after he had the outstanding
rookie campaign where I mean, obviously you don't want a
World Series if you don't have Jeremy PayNet right, But then,
I mean, he was even better with the bat last
year where you're like, he's one of the most elite
shortstops in the league.
Speaker 2 (40:17):
At that there was a point last year where I
thought he was arguably the third or fourth best short
stop in Major League Baseball.
Speaker 1 (40:23):
And then number five might anger you even more.
Speaker 2 (40:26):
I swear to God, if you say Volpi Chrey Seeger,
Oh grow up, bro, listen, the dude's good with the bat.
I'm not gonna sit here and act like he hasn't power.
But that defense has taken a step back. Man, Come on,
Seger's at five five, so who's six Trey Turner? Okay,
(40:47):
you know what, Defensively he still has it like Okay,
if you told me Trey Turner was ahead of Jeremy Panna,
I'd be content with that as long as the next
name up.
Speaker 1 (40:55):
With Jeremy Payne. Are you ready to get him angry? Yeah? Sure,
why not, I've already got the blood boiling Mookie Bets.
Speaker 2 (41:02):
He's not a short stop this, okay, This is why
I hate people's list when they come up with some
semantics to be able to go seven.
Speaker 1 (41:11):
Don't even mention his name. He is.
Speaker 2 (41:12):
He is far and away the most unlikable player in
baseball mind. He is the biggest Delta pro. He is
by Jock Peterson. I know that, I know that there
is somebody that works at the station that cannot stomach
Jack Peterson's face. And my old boss also thought that
Jack Pearson had the most punchable face in the world
in Pfesso sports, and I said, don't worry, Key Hernandez
will take over that title within two years. And I
(41:35):
hate him so much I cannot stomach he Ca Hernandez.
But you wanted what Key Hernandez is. He is Kirkland
brand version Mookie Bets, and it only shows up in
October because Mookie Betts isn't a short stop like.
Speaker 1 (41:47):
Mookie Betts was an outfielder.
Speaker 2 (41:48):
They got thrown into short stop because they spend a
bucket load of money on Kyle Tucker.
Speaker 1 (41:52):
Here's a couple of guys in the next three that
I think it's more or less like you want them
to be this much more than they really are. Ellie
day La Cruz, like, I feel like I'm still waiting
for it, man, that that's just it. Like I think
the bomping circumstance with Ellie da la Cruz is like
he's made some highlight level plays, so then you're like, oh, man,
look at the size, look at the athleticism. This guy's
(42:13):
got it, and then really the play does not back
it up. Dansby Swanson is another one. Okay, Dan's one
really good season with the Braves and got paid off
of it.
Speaker 2 (42:22):
He's like, oh, what seven year, like fifty eight million
dollars or some crap like that. Yeah, with the worst
franchise in baseball and cool, so okay, so he's out there, No,
it's like one hundred and seventy seven million dollars. He's
like getting paid a bucket. Look, he's like forty million
dollars a year. That's like the early ask price. No
way would I put him over. Now we enter the
wing of Brian Kinney's top ten shortstops.
Speaker 1 (42:43):
Now you're just doing just doing it. Was you know, hey,
we need a tenth one, Jim, let's throw and they
threw zach Netto in there, which I'm like, he's not
even the second best shortstop in your own division. The
second best shortstop just got paid yesterday.
Speaker 2 (42:59):
Jacob will By the way, that's gonna be a really
dangerous scene when they get to Las Vegas.
Speaker 1 (43:03):
Dude, I kinda hate it, but it's also really awesome.
That's the thing is, like, you know, kind of setting
that team up to do that very thing is to
be ready for a chance to compete once they get
up to uh to Las Vegas. Due they look legit
and they got everyone's sign up long term. Okay, but like,
let's be real. Brian Kenny probably.
Speaker 2 (43:20):
Said, you know what, twenty seventeen, even though Jeremy was
already probably in the what single A at that point
maybe at most double A not punishable enough, Let's continue
to go ahead and screw things on out and say,
oh no, good gracious, he's a loser because he plays
with the astros. That's the only way that I could
say he doesn't show on up. I mean, my god,
(43:41):
you got Zach Neo.
Speaker 1 (43:42):
On the list.
Speaker 2 (43:43):
You also gotta throw in uh Dansby Swanson, who I'll
give credit defensively, is fine, but he's never been an
offensive juggernaut. He's never even been close to what Jeremy pang.
Speaker 1 (43:53):
Is floor has pen. You know what? You know what
this is with Brian Kenny, and I'm gonna give him
the benefit of the doubt on this. This is and
you've done numerous ones of these before too. Where you
got one of Clinton's buddies is stopping over and saying hello,
there we go. What's up, brother, how you doing? Oh yeah,
Soups here? Oh there you go, Soups, what's going on?
Sipses it all the time. I know who he is.
(44:13):
I love it. There we go, man, there we go.
Thanks for coming on out. But what this is right
here is this is his bosses. Hey, we need to
put together a top ten list? Do I when do
I need a buy? You need it by tomorrow? All right?
Sits down with the producer Bobby Wood Junior. That's a
given Henderson maybe a little bit too high. Francisco Lindor
(44:37):
probably should be higher. Like you get My point here
is it's just like more or less like top of mind,
who the guys are as opposed to actually thinking this out,
because I guarantee you, if pressed on it, Brian Kenny
would say I should have Jeremy Paignon, Like.
Speaker 2 (44:51):
Okay, it goes back to the voting for the Bill
Belichick stuff. I genuinely can live with the fact that
you don't want him in the Hall of Fame because
like there was somebody who came out with the statement
about like these three guys Ac Greenwood and like to
the two other names, they were people that needed to
be included because it was their last year on the ballot.
I completely disagree with you that they should be in
over Bill Belichick, but at least you brought together a fact.
Speaker 1 (45:14):
You came up with a reason to say.
Speaker 2 (45:15):
This is why I went about it this way. If
Brian Kenney came out today and said, hey, I suck
and I just forgot Jeremy Panynat existed in the world
of baseball, I'd be fine, Like it'd be cool.
Speaker 1 (45:27):
I'd at least go all right, dude, Mulligan, go ahead
and remake the list. We'll call it a day. But
that's not what he did.
Speaker 2 (45:32):
What he said it was he doubled down and decided
to go ahead and keep his mouth quiet.
Speaker 1 (45:36):
While we all know Jami Payne at worst at worst
is what seven. Yeah, I mean, it's the thing, the
fact that you don't have him top ten on this
list like.
Speaker 2 (45:46):
You have Zach Netto from the American League West and
Corey seeger Overhire, Bro, you've got that.
Speaker 1 (45:52):
And then also too for the point you brought up
about Betts, Mookie Betts is just a guy playing shortstop.
He's not a short stop.
Speaker 2 (46:01):
Ninety I gotta I'm pissed about this. I gotta take
a quick time out when we come back Texans. There
is a reason that I still believe next season you
will see them once again in the hunt for ACU
Bowl title.
Speaker 1 (46:14):
And it has nothing to do with CJ. Stroud.
Speaker 2 (46:15):
That more coming up right here, we are live from
Cedar Creek for the seventh Annual Gumbo Cookoff. Come out,
grab an ice cold one, enjoy over twenty different varieties
of gumbo, and say love to Damn Matthews and Cole
Thompson right here for Sports SOOX seven ninety. Space A
Saturday rolls right along here on Sports TX seven ninety.
But it's actually more than just the Space A Saturday
with yours Hrairlely Cal Thompson, because it's just another day
(46:37):
of the morning drive with Dan and Cole.
Speaker 1 (46:39):
Hi Bun, you know what I love And you know
you gotta explain this because the audience says, no idea.
I don't know if I have any of that. I
love how cool of a customer Frankie Westmoreland is where
like you know, you'll have some producers or you're on
you know, or go you know, like whatever it is.
He's just calm, cool and collected. He just goes all right,
you're on. Frankie's the walking and pitting me of a xanax.
I love it. I love him. He's fantastic, you know what.
(47:01):
You know what he is. He's a tone center seven.
He's a guy that, like, you know, he keeps it
right there on the mid level, like where you're just
like he's not too high, he's not too low. He's
just right there, and then it allows you to kind
of be yourself. I like that about him.
Speaker 2 (47:14):
Hi Frank, you see and I get the brown nosing
for if ever there's an opportunity to come on our show,
guess what, I guess we know who's gonna be hired.
Seven one three two one two five seven to Ninety's
still halftime between your Cougars and the Cincinnati Bearcats, currently
a twelve point lead going into the second half.
Speaker 1 (47:29):
You can listen to the game on nine point fifty
or watch it over on Fox.
Speaker 2 (47:33):
You can also go get ready for Longhorns tip off
because we're off the year twelve thirty for pregame shows
out in Norman as the Longhorns take on Oklahoma Sooners.
Oh and by the way, Paul George slap at the
twenty five game suspension, he ain't playing any time soon.
But your Rockets they played tonight against the likes of
the Dallas Mavericks.
Speaker 1 (47:53):
By the way, Cooper Flyg is awesome.
Speaker 2 (47:55):
Like I heard this comparison, I think it's stupid because
if it's not remotely true. But like Cooper Flagg is,
I think what the NBA wanted John Moran to be
your one on one, Zion was supposed to be your
one No, I mean, like forty nine points against his
former duke teammate in Charlotte.
Speaker 1 (48:12):
But Thursday, Yeah, Kank Nipple and Can Nipples having a
really good season. A lot of people, dude, he's twenty,
he's even younger. He's over that. A lot of people
think that he could be the rookie of the year.
But no, I mean he he's definitely becoming what I
think a lot of people hope that it would be
coming their way. If you're a Mavericks fan. But the
(48:33):
good news tonight is that you don't have Anthony Davis playing.
Because Anthony Davis is an absolute Rockets killer. So I mean, yeah,
he plays good against one team and then sucks against
the wrest of the played them well in Dallas, but
you do play them well in Houston, So I like
their chances tonight. I think that it could be a
good Saturday night over there a Twitter Center.
Speaker 2 (48:53):
You're on the pregame Marcher, I am pre and post
and then clan's off this week, right, Yeah, it's it's
a wex is gonna be on with Matt Thomas from
the Bill Warrel Broadcast deck.
Speaker 1 (49:06):
Is that what they call that thing? That is? I've
never known that? Yeah, I should know. These things. It's
just see, it's every once in a while too, Like
you know, if if if I can break into WEX,
it usually is a hit with the crowd. So I mean,
you know, I try to I try to break it
out every once in a while. I try to not
use it too much as to water it down because
I feel like WEX deserves a lot better treatment than that.
(49:27):
Hell no, he doesn't. Seven one three two five seven
ninety Texans. All right, we're over the doom and gloom.
Reanni's kicked on in. Guys, they ain't gone to the
super Bowl this year. Let's give me New England. It's
give me Seattle.
Speaker 2 (49:38):
Somebody's walking away with a championship, and somebody's gonna be
Drake Mace coach.
Speaker 1 (49:42):
That's what's happening. Sorry.
Speaker 2 (49:43):
I mean, like we could spend all next week if
you want to about who's gonna win the super Bowl.
You and I both know it's gonna be Seattle. Like
it's gonna be like it's gonna be Seattle, right.
Speaker 1 (49:53):
I mean you would say yes, But I mean this
is the Patriots team though too that I mean, if
you want to talk about somebody that can absolutely have
the rally and cry, nobody believes in us. Even though
you were favored against the Texans. Everybody thought the Texans
were gonna win that game. You win that game, and
then the following week in Denver. Yeah, backup, quarterback, but
you're going to Denver, a place that you've never won,
(50:15):
so we still believe a little bit more in Denver,
and you win that game. So I'm not going to
completely write off the Patriots.
Speaker 2 (50:24):
I'm riding off the Patriots because I haven't believed in
them one second, and I probably should, which is why eventually,
you're gonna have to win the whole damn thing for
me to earn your respect. But regardless, they're gonna be
in the super Bowl and.
Speaker 1 (50:34):
The Texans are not.
Speaker 2 (50:36):
However, the thing that I've noticed, and I'm starting to
pay more attention, because of eight of the ten coaching
hires have already been made in this cycle, which still
feels like a lot, even for the most like even
for a year where it felt like college football, like
college football really did set up a precibis this year
of hey, we want to outdo the NFL, so everyone
and their mother's gonna get fired.
Speaker 1 (50:57):
Hold up, guys, we're the NFL. We own you, we
own the ratings.
Speaker 2 (51:01):
Now we gotta go ahead and set the standard by
firing ten coaches, like I mean, like that was over
a third of the league got fired this past year.
So like you throw that in, I gotta ask, oh,
here we go, here's beats. See this is what this
is what you come out here for, just to go
ahead and wear beads, look cool? Where you get combat it.
Speaker 1 (51:17):
I love it. Yeah, you know we got we got
the crawfish on these too. Let's go.
Speaker 2 (51:21):
So anyways, back to my main point, all these hires
are being made, I have questions, and the ones that
I don't have questions about our teams I don't think
are gonna be that great next season, or at least
not at the level of where the Texans are. So
it got me thinking as I was going to dinner
last night, the Texans are still gonna be one of
the favorites in the in the AFC and one of
the favorites in the NFL.
Speaker 1 (51:41):
And there's one specific reason behind it.
Speaker 2 (51:44):
And it's not the defense, and it's not the fact
that you're gonna be spending money to fix your offensive
line or bringing in a new running back or having
a healthy Joe Mixon if he has to come back,
or Tank Dell actually making place.
Speaker 1 (51:55):
It starts an ends with Demika Ryants.
Speaker 2 (51:58):
Now more than ever, I think coaching is the make
or break moment that decides if you are good enough
to win a Super Bowl. Mike McDonald was in an arbor,
went back to Baltimore, coached the crap out of that defense.
Speaker 1 (52:11):
They were legit for two years, number one in the NFL.
Speaker 2 (52:14):
Guess John in Seattle now compared to the defensive version
of Sean McVay.
Speaker 1 (52:19):
That's what he is named.
Speaker 2 (52:20):
He has ten losses in two years, and he just
took Sam Darnold and this offense to a Super Bowl
title and also the number one seed in the AFC.
In THEFC, Mike Rabol most probably underrated coach. When he
was in Tennessee, Amy Adams Trunk realized, oh, I can't
have nice things, so I'm gonna go ahead of punt
him down the road. He goes to New England and
(52:42):
one year after Gerrod Mayo, who probably was in over
his head to begin with, ends up running the team
into the ground with a young promising quarterback, takes into
the number two seed puts them back on top of
the AFC East standings. They run through everybody with a
little bit of help because of injuries and other things
that go along with it, in a five turnover game
to the Texans.
Speaker 1 (53:02):
But now they're in the place for the super Bowl,
and I think that you would look at both those
coaches and say, as of this moment, they are top
ten names in the NFL.
Speaker 2 (53:11):
Here's the thing, though, Dan, their top ten names. I
sticks coach in the NFL.
Speaker 1 (53:16):
You say the shot, no matter who is your quarterback,
no matter who is running your offense, can I give
you a good and bad news? And it's all one answer, Hey,
you give me a crap sandwich on. The good news
is that the Texans just have some fine tuning to make.
The bad news is if you miss on those fine tunings,
then you're not getting any better. And I understand them.
On the surface, that sounds like, well, yeah, no kidding there, Dan,
(53:37):
but you've got you've got to find a good left guard,
you've got to find a good running back. You've got
to find probably even a good number two receiver, because
it seems like no matter what, Nico Collins is going
to be here even though I made the case yesterday
for why if a phone call is made, you do
(53:57):
think about it. If you're the Texans, I don't think
about it for one second. I'm but that's the thing is,
like you know, for the moves that can be made
this offseason, the good news is if you're Nick Casario,
is that it's not going to cost you an overwhelming amounts.
And then here's even more bad news. If you're the Texans,
that means that you probably where you are salary cap wise,
(54:19):
you're going to have to give yourself some breathing room
because the way that you're sitting right now, even with
the increase, you're going to not be able to spend
anywhere close to what any of these other teams who
you're trying to get better than, are going to be
able to spend.
Speaker 2 (54:34):
I just look at him from the standpoint of who's
your turning for my defense? Okay, uh, let's see as
he's als share or is he leaving in a free agency?
Speaker 1 (54:41):
Nope, he's good.
Speaker 2 (54:42):
Dereck Singley Junior, Well he just signed a long term deal,
so he's good. Kaylen Block Kamari Laster breakout seasons. Oh wait, wait,
there are the rookie contracts.
Speaker 1 (54:50):
They don't have to go anywhere until twenty twenty seven minimum.
Speaker 2 (54:53):
Jaln Petree back in the nickel position. Oh wait, yeah,
he just signed a long term deal. He's good. Daniel Hunter,
what about? Hell are we just manned the second highest
paid defense player in the NFL and he's probably gonna
be the third highest paid defensive player because we're gonna
pay for the other guy that's crossed from him that
should be in the running for Defensive Player of the Year,
Will Anderson Junior. But of course Miles Garrett decides to
go ahead and set records this past season on a
(55:14):
four and thirteen crap Cleveland Browns team.
Speaker 1 (55:17):
So I mean you throw that in. He's back.
Speaker 2 (55:20):
You have one guy that is a vital piece to
this defense that was historic in twenty twenty five hitting
free agency, and Nick Caserio probably learned from his mistake
of realizing it's not worth replacing a guy like Sheldon
Rankins because of a three million dollar deficit.
Speaker 1 (55:37):
Now, I'm not saying that Sheldon wants to come back here.
Speaker 2 (55:39):
I'm not saying that Sheldon is a guarantee to be
a part of the Texans long term, and that you
don't need to go out and add in a player
in the draft like Caleb Banks. By the way, if
you don't know a damn thing about him, go turn
on the tape for mobile. There's a reason why Texans
fans are salivating and saying, look, I get that we
need an offensive tackle. I get that we needed an
interior alignement. I get that adding in a running back
like Jeremiah Love if you were to fall, go make
(56:01):
the call on up. But like Gale Begs, there could
be worse outids and pick number twenty eight if you're
sticking around there, which by the way, Nick probably isn't.
Speaker 1 (56:07):
But regardless, he looked awesome down there.
Speaker 2 (56:11):
If you had him as a replacement long term for
Shean Rankins and bring him back for another year, the
entire defense that set the tone last season is back,
and offensively, you are going to get another receiver to
add in with Tank Dell, who, by the way, even
right now after missing over twenty games the last two years,
I probably would take over Christian Kirk. I think that
(56:32):
you add him in alongside with Nico Collins, maybe get
another tight ending.
Speaker 1 (56:37):
I'm not sure what you do if that comes at
second round, or if you bring in a guy in
free agency and then you figure out your running back position, which,
by the way, you got to figure out in two ways.
Speaker 2 (56:45):
Number one, is Joe Mixing part of this team long term?
Number two, do we need to draft a guy that
way we take some pressure off of Woody Marks. Again,
you're basically asking CJ. Strown, Hey, hey, just be a
game manager. Because we got the top five coach, we
got the top five defense, we got a top ten weapon,
we got a top five unit. When it comes to
a secondary weapon, potentially, we feel really really good about
(57:08):
so and so coming on in.
Speaker 1 (57:09):
Like we're good, We're we're in a pretty good spot.
Speaker 2 (57:12):
And largely I think if you look at Sam Darnold
and what he did in that game against San Francisco
forty nine ers, he only had like one hundred and
thirty passing yards, but he didn't put the baller harms
way they crossed off every single box in Seattle for
him to be able to go ahead and be that
game managing mentality, dude, that ends up being the reason
why they're.
Speaker 1 (57:30):
Four quarters from hosting up a Lombardi Trophy. Well, and
here's the good news too, is. I mean, you know,
one of the guys that I think you mentioned, maybe
he didn't is Tommy Togi. I yes, that you know.
With what he did this season, it translates next season
because he was incredibly good against the run. But the
other part of it, too is that you will have
offensive coordinators out there or even you know, run game coordinators,
(57:51):
whoever it is that's looking at as part of the
game plan and saying, hey, we got an account for
where number fifty five is. We got to account for
number fifty one is. I think that in a way,
he becomes a forgotten guy for you, even though he
frees up those other guys to be able to do
what they do. And I mean the fact that you've
got somebody right there in the middle who not only
(58:11):
is good at being able to stop the run, but
also is incredibly good in terms of being able to
get upfield to get after the quarterback. That's a good thing.
Speaker 2 (58:19):
I'll go a step further and just look at it
from the coaching standpoint. You throwing quarterbacks and quarterback is important.
Like nobody's gonna sit here and say let's go take
Joe Flacco and have him when a Super Bowl at
eight thirty eight, Like, no, he's saying that, But I
look at like I look at Josh Allen. They went
out and they hired in Joe Brady, cool, first time
(58:39):
head coach. What about Lamar Jackson, two time MVP, really
good overall player. He's gonna get an upgrade when it
comes to the offensive, and any Deckland Doyle comes on
in from comes on in from Chicago. You also then
bring in Jesse Minter, elite defensive mind, first time head coach.
Patch Mahomes is gonna have to do more, and he's
coming off a season ending injury out in Kansas.
Speaker 1 (59:00):
City because he's losing some pieces.
Speaker 2 (59:02):
Then you throw in Drake may I think there will
be some regression set on in bo Nix is already
dealing with fights and potentially a heartbreak, reality that he's
not that good or that Champayne is not the right
guy for him.
Speaker 1 (59:13):
Out in Denver. I think that you look at Los
Angeles still is justin Herbert.
Speaker 2 (59:18):
So who do you fear right now when it comes
to either the head coach or the quarterback that is
going to be better than what you got with Demika Ryans,
Mike Vrabel maybe and then everyone else I'm looking at
it is probably on the NFC side, like Sean mcvay's there,
and then you don't know what's gonna happen with Matthew Stafford.
Speaker 1 (59:34):
You still have to see.
Speaker 2 (59:35):
I think Sam dar will do it again to guarantee
that he is a top five quarterback in the NFL.
Speaker 1 (59:40):
The great year Mike dald.
Speaker 2 (59:41):
I don't think it's going anywhere anytime soon, So probably
i'd put him slightly above Mika Ryans. But like we're
talking about picking Strawsier and just asking your quarterback not
to go ahead and make a blundering mistake like he
didn't Wutch report.
Speaker 1 (59:54):
That's that's the wild card right there, is that it's
it's all about CJ. I mean, what verset of CJD
you get in twenty twenty six, That's what answers your
question is if you get CJ that we've had the
past couple of years, then you're probably the same team
you're you're you're probably a twelve win football team and
eleven win football team and you're getting in as a
division winner and you're playing on wild card weekend. But
(01:00:16):
if you get closer to twenty twenty three CJ. Then
you're a thirteen or fourteen win team next year.
Speaker 2 (01:00:22):
Seven one three two one two five seven ninety. I
believe the Texans are fine because they have to makeo
Ryans as a head coach, argue against me or with me.
Seven one three two win two five seven ninety, take
quick time out and we come back. I've already determined
that there is one player, but the Houston Texans will
draft on Day three come April in Pittsburgh.
Speaker 1 (01:00:41):
Who is it?
Speaker 2 (01:00:41):
You probably already know, but just for a good refresher,
let me explain when we come back right here on
Space A Saturday Sports Talk seven.
Speaker 1 (01:00:47):
Ninety Face City Saturday, Dan Matthews, Cole Thompson hanging out here,
Cedyar Creek, seventeen year old gumbo cookoff happening out here.
And I mean, you know, we've already been gifted beads.
We appreciate that for the crew that's come over and
given us the beads. And then we also to buy
an awesome dude who was wearing a uh gold star
(01:01:12):
astros hat said I'll bring you guys a good part
of the pot for the gumbo. I was like, you
know what, you already win today because I know that
you and Rod Ryan are gonna be MCing this thing.
But if there is like a golden ticket that's like
five votes in there, that crew gets the golden ticket
without even trying the gumbo. I appreciate I appreciate you
sweetening the pots separately. Seven one two, five, seven ninety.
(01:01:34):
You're number ten.
Speaker 2 (01:01:35):
Houston Cougar's lead forty four to twenty five with fifteen
twenty nine left in the second quarter a second half.
We watch the game on Fox. Listen to it on
nine point fifty. We're off the air in about ten minutes.
You can get ready for pregame as the Texas Longhorns
traveled to Norman to take on the Oklahoma Sooners and
Paul George walk in the hell or my god, the
specialist because you're out for the next twenty five game.
(01:01:57):
Seven one three, two two five seven ninety, Dan, I
have found out that the Texans.
Speaker 1 (01:02:00):
Are already gonna draft one player on day three. Who's that?
His name is Tyron Montgomery. Do you know anything about him?
I don't.
Speaker 3 (01:02:06):
Here.
Speaker 2 (01:02:06):
Let me tell you the story real fast, because this
is gonna be a This is gonna be a name
that when we come back, we're all gonna be like, okay,
Cole said at first, can I wait to see what
he provides?
Speaker 1 (01:02:15):
So, Tyron Montgomery, it's a really cool story. If you
don't know enough about him.
Speaker 2 (01:02:19):
The kid ends up playing as a walk on basketball
star at LSU.
Speaker 1 (01:02:24):
That's right at the beginning, you would know him. Okay.
Speaker 2 (01:02:25):
So he goes to LSU and he walks out. He
makes the teat which is automatically Will Wade loves him. Apparently,
great atmosphere, good locker room presence. Guy COVID happens.
Speaker 1 (01:02:34):
COVID happens, And unfortunately when he comes back to school,
he can't have a roster spot because of there wasn't
enough spaces after the COVID because the scholarship's given the
extra year of eligibility. So he during this time period
has no idea what he wants to do. He's he
gonna go to the junior college route? Is he gonna
go ahead and try to figure out does he want
to go try to walk on with another school?
Speaker 2 (01:02:53):
Well, his brother is a younger quarterback, and so he
ends up saying, hey, just start running some routes so
I can keep my arm right so he's making some catches,
he's not dropping anything. He starts to learn off a
YouTube how to actually be a better route runner, and
he ends up walking on to a Division two school,
(01:03:13):
kills it there, then goes to another school. Good twenty
twenty four season, Good, Exceptional twenty twenty five season.
Speaker 1 (01:03:22):
Lights of the statutee.
Speaker 2 (01:03:23):
Career high in receptions, career high in receiving yards, career
high in receiving touchdowns. And he goes to Mobile this
past week. And if you talk to anybody who's anybody,
they can.
Speaker 1 (01:03:34):
Continue to say, Tyrone Montgomery, this is a dude that
you are going to see get invited to some type
of either Pro Day or maybe he'll get invited to
the Combine Singer Bowls on today. I will not be
shocked if he ends up having a couple of big
time catches. He's six foot five, six foot six, good frame,
does not drop a damn thing. And I think he
(01:03:56):
is gonna be a Houston Texan. By I didn't tell you.
Why Why do the think he's gonna be in Houston, Texan?
I don't know. That's just take a while. Guests, Uh,
Nick Casaria loves good football players. You're on the right track.
You're on the right track. We we just want good
football players. That's always his goat too. I didn't say
where he walked on to school and where he went afterwards.
John Carroll.
Speaker 2 (01:04:16):
He is a John Carroll wide receiver with a John
Carroll offensive coordinator, with a John Carroll.
Speaker 1 (01:04:24):
Alummuss GM ladies and gentlemen.
Speaker 2 (01:04:26):
Tyron Montgomery is either going to end up in New
England and be the next big time playmaker for Drake
may or he is coming down to Houston and we
are not going to ever talk about Jayden Higgins or
jayaln Knowle or Nico Collins or Tank Dell or Dalton
Schultz or any other wide receiver that's on the ball
because the John Carroll kid will be the final piece
that gets Nick Casario to.
Speaker 1 (01:04:47):
The Super Bowl. You know what this is? This is
the new age. Gary Kubiak. Oh you came from Colorado State.
All right, Yeah, we're definitely signing you, or we're definitely
drafting you. But you know, it was also too with
the Patriots. It was oh, you're white and your play receiver.
You're a Patriot. Oh you played lacrosse, Yeah, you're a Patriot.
Chris Hogan was was definitely one of those guys.
Speaker 2 (01:05:08):
But no, I mean, look he is one percent last
season with the Blue Streaks, which, by the way, that's
the name of the team.
Speaker 1 (01:05:15):
But I know the John Carroll Blue Streaks, now, I
mean like the Blue Stripes. You could throw that out
there for like you know, se notes, but the Blue
Streaks at fifty seven.
Speaker 2 (01:05:26):
Catches, almost eleven hundred receiving yards and a team record
seventeen touchdowns while being named an All Athletic Ohio Outlet
Conference player. This past season, one hundred and nineteen catches,
fifteen and twenty eight yards, fifteen touchdowns, twelve and two
record appeared in the Division three semifinals, broke the school
(01:05:49):
record for single season catches, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns.
In two seasons, Dan over one hundred and eighty one
catches over two thousand receiving yards, almost twenty five hundred
receiving yards.
Speaker 1 (01:06:06):
He has twenty three touchdowns. I mean, you just got
Nick Kylee, you got Frank Ross. Nick Kaylee is losing
his mind. See Senate and all all the John Carroll guys,
and they're just absolutely just salivating it. They are screaming
at the top of their lungs. How do we get
this kid to come to Houston? How does pray to
God that he finds this guy? How do we how
do we hide this?
Speaker 2 (01:06:26):
You know what the thing is Nick Asio probably did
some him and Litt probably did some self evaluation where
they absolutely saw him on the on the tape and
they're like, you know what, we're gonna take him in
a round seven. No, he's gonna notice, he's gonna be
a stud. And then he goes down to the Singer
Bowl and they're losing it. They're like, suck, we had it,
we had him locked up. But he is one hundred
p second.
Speaker 1 (01:06:45):
To be a Texan.
Speaker 2 (01:06:46):
No.
Speaker 1 (01:06:46):
I mean, that's the thing is that you know, there's
always you know, built in ties kind of deal, and
that's that's one of those right there. But also, I mean,
if there's one thing that I do appreciate with Nickosio's
he doesn't pete around the bush when it comes to
the draft. More often in it's oh, you played it
a major college program, Congratulations here Houston, Like he's it's
the John Carroll kid. Like for starters. How many players, ever, ever,
(01:07:10):
find their way to come out, John Kid. It's the
complete opposite of what Bill O'Brien in that crew was,
where it was, Oh, we're going to find guys and
we're gonna make them into football players. It's like, you're
not a good enough coach to be able to do that,
despite what you try to tell everybody that you are.
Speaker 2 (01:07:23):
He would be the most counterproductor I mean, he'd be
the most confiding thing that Nick Cassia ever did. So,
Nick Caseio, I remember speaking to somebody last year and
Gray's sable was it was like in the running for
being a guy that maybe fallacy at twenty five, and
everyone I spoke to you said, Texas aren't drafting.
Speaker 1 (01:07:38):
Him, like like like he could be the best player
that is on the board. He comes from the FCS level,
We're not drafting him.
Speaker 2 (01:07:46):
And for Nick Casserio to use a Day three pick
on a Division three player, because if it comes from
his school, that would be the most epitome Nic Cassia
think about nicked.
Speaker 1 (01:07:54):
Aero, Well, I mean it also too. I mean it
would be the one that has the most upside of
any of the others that he could possibly add in.
Speaker 2 (01:08:00):
He's damn Matthews I'm Cole Thompson. Come stop by, say
hello to us. Get a nice cold beer at Cedar
