Speaker 1 (00:00):
Sunny, one of six point five Las Vegas's Best Variety
of the eighties nineties. And today, good Morning, it's Sean
still Roland solo with you here in the morning as
Joanna is still on maternity lead with her beautiful baby
girl Isabella. Now, speaking of all things gurly, I was
on reddit dot com, which is mostly like a giant
message of ward people ask questions, But somebody asked, what's
the most ridiculous thing that you've heard a man refuse

(00:22):
to do because it was too gurly? Some of these
answers are just wild. Some guys won't wear chapstick because
it's too gurly. I mean, look, this is having chapped
lips make me a man? I guess it does. Some
guys refuse to use an umbrella because it's feminine. Some
have refused to sit next to another guy in a theater.
I mean, that's going the extra mile putting a seat

(00:44):
between yourself and another dude. How about not using a
pink towel or reading poetry? Here's a big one. This
one was the one that blew my mind the most.
One husband refused to change their newborn girls diaper, but
was okay changing the boys look you gotta put in
the work. I got a six year old girl and
a two year old boy. I have changed many a

(01:05):
diapers for both of them. I mean some guys, some
quote unquote manly men, just not comfortable in their own skin.

Speaker 2 (01:12):
Pretty wild.

Speaker 1 (01:13):
Same point. If there's one thing Las Vegas loves, I mean,
it's an immersive experience.

Speaker 2 (01:20):
It's sunny when it was six point five. I'm sean.

Speaker 1 (01:22):
I've taken my family to the RTA Museum, to the
Disney Animated Immersive Experience. I feel like this sphere's got
to be the most relevant example of an immersive experience.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
You've seen how they do those.

Speaker 1 (01:32):
Shows on Instagram just completely surrounds you, envelops you in
the show. Now Netflix doing something similar. I mean they're
going all in on Vegas with a permanent Netflix house
that's gonna open in twenty twenty seven at the Boulevard
on the Strip. This is more like a like a
real life playground for your favorite shows, immersive experiences, themed dining,

(01:54):
rotating attractions based on the hit shows, and who knows
what's gonna be popular in twenty twenty seven, but on
the docket right now. Stranger Things Wednesday, squid game. So
it's not just like a photo op. We're talking virtual
reality games, trivia nights, even a Netflix Bites restaurant serving
up dishes inspired by those shows. This is fandom turned

(02:16):
full on adventure and I can't wait for it. The
Netflix House is going to be here twenty twenty seven
at the Boulevard on the Strip.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
Wake Up with Sunny Mornings with Joanna and Sean. I'm
Sunny one. I was six point five.

Speaker 1 (02:28):
Let's talk about compromises in relationships for a minute. It's
sunny when it was six point five. I'm Sean. What's
the last thing you compromised with you with your partner
on So for me, since this show starts at five am,
I get to get up super early every day. I
am not around to help with the kids in the morning,
get them up, get them changed, ready for school, camp,
whatever it is. My wife has to do all that.

(02:50):
So the compromise for us is I have to be
out of work early enough to pick up my daughter
from school or get the kids from camp. My wife
works from home, and this way she doesn't have to
restructure her day or mis meetings or whatever. She does
enough for the kids as it is. So that's where
I try to help out. That's our compromise, Daryl, what
do you compromise with your wife on I gave up

(03:10):
partying like all the time.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
Like all the time you were partying a lot.

Speaker 3 (03:16):
I used to go to the club a lot. But okay,
it's just not really the place to be when you
already got somebody love.

Speaker 1 (03:22):
Yeah, it's just a place with too much And I
realized that she helped me.

Speaker 3 (03:26):
Figure that out too.

Speaker 1 (03:27):
That's nice. I'm glad you guys did that. And look, Darryl,
I get it. I don't party at all. If I'm
even at a restaurant and a DJ starts to set up,
I mean I panic. Sunny Window six point five, Las
Vegas is best variety of the eighties nineties. And today,
good morning, it's Sean. Today happens to be June teenth.

(03:47):
It marks the date of June nineteenth of eighteen sixty five,
that is when slaves in Texas finally learned about the
Emancipation Proclamation. So today might be a nice day to
go participate in some local events support black owned businesses
and restaurants. We're going to put a full list over
at the website. Here's a few things going on. Of course,
the juneteen Festival happening at Water Street Plaza in Henderson

(04:10):
that starts at six o'clock today. There's going to be
a vendor market, live performances. That is a free event. Also,
the Faith Freedom Festival that is happening at Craig Ranch
and starts at six o'clock. We'll have children's entertainment there,
the Books and Buns grand opening brand new cafe featuring
a curation of books by black authors. There is a
Lego room for kids as well that starts at two

(04:32):
pm this afternoon. And the twenty fourth annual Las Vegas
Juneteen Festival is on Saturday. That's going to be at
four o'clock at the Expo at the World Market Center,
and that is also going to be free and open
to all ages. You can find all of this and
more at Sunnywindo six five dot com.

Speaker 2 (04:48):
Just click on Sunny Mornings.

Speaker 1 (04:50):
This is Sunny Mornings with Joanna and Sean on Sunny
one oh six point five.

Speaker 2 (04:54):
Sunny Wino six point five.

Speaker 1 (04:56):
Las Vegas is best variety of the eighties nineties and
today it's Sean coming to the next A long stretch
of music kicked off by Shaboozi, including foreigner Ed Sheeran,
Christina Aguilera and more. Now, speaking of Shaboozi, I only
brought that up so I could tell you this story.
Shaboozy causing a bit of a problem filming a music

(05:16):
video in Dallas. So they shut down a bridge in
Dallas two days ago to shoot this music video. And
they did it during rush hour, So the eastbound lanes
completely shut down during the video shoot, and then the
westbound lanes were backed up because people were slowing down
to see what was happening in the eastbound lanes. And
of course it got worse as it spread across social

(05:38):
media like wildfire. I mean, some fans were excited to
see Shaboozy on a bridge in your city. That's cool, right,
They probably biked there, weren't super inconvenience, But the people
in their cars whoo little upset, understandably because he did
it during rush hour. Probably not a great way to
do it timing wise, maybe not rush hour. But I
am interested to see how that video turns out. That said,

(05:59):
this is not the story I've heard about a musical
act and a bridge. If you have a moment today
google Dave Matthews, Band and Bridge, and you'll be glad
that you did It's Sunny when it was six point five,
getting your family into Universal Studios at seven point forty
with the name drop be ready for.

Speaker 2 (06:14):
That six.

Speaker 1 (06:18):
What is the last thing that you compromised with your
partner on? It's Sunny whin It was six point five
Las Vegas's best variety of the eighties, nineties, and today
I'm sean. Look, every marriage, every relationship, requires some compromise
to make it work. I get up super early for
this show every day, which means I leave my wife
hangin' with the kids.

Speaker 2 (06:36):
Every morning.

Speaker 1 (06:37):
She's got to get him up, get him ready, to
get him out the door all by herself. So our
compromise is I gotta be out of here early enough
to help with them. In the afternoon, I got to
pick my daughter up from school, get the kids from camp,
whatever that may be. I take them off of her
hands so she can do things that she needs to do.
That's our compromise. Did what's that thing you compromised with
your husband?

Speaker 3 (06:56):
Don karaoke?

Speaker 2 (06:58):
Karaoke? How do you compromise on care?

Speaker 3 (07:01):
He hates karaoke, so anytime there's a bar that has karaoke,
I'm usually the first person to jump up and run
to the stage. He absolutely hates it and it embarrasses him.
Oh I have to sneak off to do karaoke.

Speaker 1 (07:17):
Well, you know what, I'm glad that that works for you, right,
that's something you love. It's nice that he lets you,
you know, go, instead of saying we're not going, And
it's nice that you don't, you know, force him to
go and be embarrassed. I just wish that he would
realize that being terrible is half the fun.

Speaker 2 (07:31):
Sunny Mornings with Joanna and Sean, I'm Sunny one.

Speaker 1 (07:34):
