Speaker 1 (00:00):
Las Vegas wakes Up with Joanna and Sean.

Speaker 2 (00:02):
Here's what you.

Speaker 3 (00:03):
Missed on Sunday mornings.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
Sunny when it was six point five. All right, you
made me put on.

Speaker 4 (00:08):
This like fake badge this morning because you told me
we're going to be handing out fines for bad adult
behavior and it's based on something that happened to you recently,
Sean at Disneyland, and I want to.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
Know what happened.

Speaker 5 (00:19):
So we were in line right, a very long line
to get into the park. I was with my family,
and I watched these two grown men have a conversation
about do you think we need to be in this
line or do you think we can just go to
the front of it? And I was like, for sure
they're going to get to the front and be told
to come back or turn around. And they just went
to the front. I was livid and they cut everyone

(00:40):
in line.

Speaker 6 (00:41):
Oh is it grown men?

Speaker 2 (00:42):
So two grown men?

Speaker 4 (00:44):
So they didn't have kids with them, No, they thought
they were kind of like above exempt. Yes, ooh that
would have Oh that would have herked me too, So
what you do?

Speaker 2 (00:53):
You bit your tongue? So Disney security didn't come after.

Speaker 5 (00:55):
Yet I know I was gonna go up. My wife
had to grab grab my arm. She's like to stay here,
not go, say nothing, let it go.

Speaker 6 (01:04):
I'm not staying. We're handing out jail time here.

Speaker 5 (01:06):
But this kind of thing, this bad adult behavior, things
like line cutting. I mean, you got to start handing
out fines. I mean, I think just to get people
acting right.

Speaker 4 (01:13):
Oka publicly embarrassed them exactly exactly.

Speaker 5 (01:18):
Let's see what our our what's our first finding going
to be for Lindsey, good morning. What kind of bad
adult behavior are we finding to get people in line?

Speaker 7 (01:27):
So, if you are at a restaurant and there's a
long line, you know, like a Chipotle situation, like a
fast casual situation.

Speaker 3 (01:34):
If you're online and.

Speaker 7 (01:35):
Then you get up and it's the person in front
of you, it's their turn to order. Why did they
start reading the menu just right then and there We've
been in line for twenty minutes. We have been in
line for twenty minutes.

Speaker 6 (01:47):
I love.

Speaker 5 (01:48):
Yeah, the time wast so is you got to figure
out your order. If your order is not ready to
go by the time you get to the front, it's
back to the line with you back of the line.

Speaker 7 (01:55):
And the menu is like on the lines, you know,
like above the it's right in front of us. What
were you doing the entire time.

Speaker 2 (02:01):
We were online?

Speaker 7 (02:02):
And then you get up there and you're like, oh.

Speaker 4 (02:05):
What are you serious?

Speaker 2 (02:08):
No, you are so right, Lindsay.

Speaker 4 (02:10):
I feel like I have that pain point every time
I go to Cafe Rio, because there's two menus there,
one like right there, readable at eye level, and then
one above and so there's really no excuse not to
know what you want, Like, what were you doing?

Speaker 7 (02:24):
Yeah, there should be a fine, and the fine should
be they should have to.

Speaker 6 (02:27):
Buy my meal.

Speaker 5 (02:29):
I like that, like a mandatory payer forward if you're
wasting people's time.

Speaker 6 (02:34):
That's so good, awesome, thank you so much, thank you.

Speaker 4 (02:39):
That's just so relatable, right, Like how many times have
you been stuck behind somebody who like probably knew their order,
had all.

Speaker 2 (02:45):
Day to think about it, and you're like, come.

Speaker 4 (02:47):
On, I'm in the rush here, let's go exactly exactly.

Speaker 5 (02:50):
Let's see. We got a sunny story today here. Coming
up next, Joanna on the lighter side, what's going on?

Speaker 4 (02:55):
Great story about how breakens have turned into breakthroughs and
how the arts strict businesses are teaming up to come
back stronger than ever. Going to fill you in on
that story next to today's sunny Story of the day.

Speaker 1 (03:06):
Stick around, good vibes, good people, and good news.

Speaker 6 (03:09):
Time for your sunny story of the day.

Speaker 5 (03:11):
So every day and around this time we bring you
something that can make you smile and local if we
can help.

Speaker 4 (03:15):
But what's going on, Joanna, Well, you know, sometimes tough
situations they bring out the very best in people. So
that's what's happening right here in downtown Las Vegas at
the Art District, which I know you're a huge fan of, Sean, you.

Speaker 6 (03:26):
Love it, my favorite part of town.

Speaker 4 (03:27):
Yeah. Now, after unfortunately a string of break ins hit
many small, locally owned businesses down there.

Speaker 6 (03:34):
Such a bummer.

Speaker 2 (03:35):
Yeah, a lot of shop owners.

Speaker 4 (03:36):
You know, they could have felt defeated, they could have
closed their doors for good, but instead they leaned on
our community support and a little help from the city
and some local business grants. Now through security grants, businesses
in the Art District have now been able to upgrade doors,
add cameras, add lighting to dark areas that maybe used

(03:57):
to make them more vulnerable. Ah.

Speaker 5 (03:59):
Yeah, No, there's a lot of places like that around
the Art District that need a little brightening up for sure.

Speaker 1 (04:04):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (04:04):
And it's not you know, just about protecting property. It's
about protecting years of hard work, creativity, and of course dreams,
because that's what the art district is all about. Now
these business owners have banned together and now they actually
have each other to kind of lean on. Right, Sometimes
you have a neighbor, but you don't know your neighbor yea, yeah, right,
some great friendships have been formed in the process as well.

Speaker 2 (04:25):
So, you know, just a great reminder this morning.

Speaker 4 (04:27):
That you know, challenges, they're gonna pop up, but this community.

Speaker 6 (04:30):
Always shows up every time.

Speaker 2 (04:32):
Yep.

Speaker 4 (04:33):
So if you want to read more about this incredible story,
you can right now.

Speaker 2 (04:36):
It's Sunday Window six y five dot com. Just click on.

Speaker 4 (04:38):
Sunny Mornings and let's keep the good news going. Christina's
been on hold this morning. Christina, good morning, tell us
what's going on. Why are you feeling good today?

Speaker 6 (04:47):
Hey?

Speaker 5 (04:48):
My dog had a tumor and we were a little scared.

Speaker 8 (04:51):
Yeah, but he went through.

Speaker 2 (04:52):
Surgery and it's benign.

Speaker 1 (04:53):
So my dog doesn't have cancer.

Speaker 6 (04:54):
Oh man, I want to relief.

Speaker 5 (04:57):
Yeah, a little scary at first. So everything's your dog's
all in the clear now.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
Everything sign getting his stitches out soon and so finds
so good. Ah, what a sigh of relief.

Speaker 4 (05:09):
We bet you can breathe a whole lot easier today, Christina, Yeah, Sonny.

Speaker 2 (05:14):
One six point five.

Speaker 4 (05:18):
Sunday mornings, and Joanna and Sean right here on Sunnay
one o six point five.

Speaker 2 (05:22):
Women's History Month is here, It's March.

Speaker 4 (05:24):
It comes up every year, and so does our annual
Women Who Shine program where we get to highlight incredible
women here in Southern Nevada doing incredible things.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
And another incredible guest this morning.

Speaker 5 (05:34):
This morning, joining us since studio, Jennifer Strobel, and you
are the executive director of Families for Effective Autism Treatment
otherwise known as Feet of Southern Nevada.

Speaker 6 (05:44):
Thank you so much for joining us today.

Speaker 2 (05:45):
Thanks for having me. We're excited to talk with you.

Speaker 4 (05:48):
So tell us, Jennifer, how long have you been here
in Southern Nevada And tell us about your journey to
being the executive director over at Families for Effective Autism Treatment.

Speaker 8 (05:57):
Okay, well, I have been here since night ninety four,
shortly after I graduated in Oregon, I moved here, been
here ever since. I have three kids, my twenty seven
year old daughter was diagnosed with autism at the age
of four, and at that time I was looking for
resources and help and support. I didn't know what to

(06:17):
do right and I eventually found FEET of Southern Nevada.
They had a monthly support meeting that I joined every month.
I started volunteering my time on the board of directors
and then it just grew and got so big we
eventually needed to hire somebody. I was interviewed among twenty
other amazing women, got the job, and here I am

(06:40):
sixteen years later.

Speaker 4 (06:41):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (06:42):
What an incredible journey.

Speaker 4 (06:43):
And I love that it stemmed from your passion to
wanting to just understand it more. And you mentioned you
know your daughter has autism, and that is kind of
the reason why you found FEET.

Speaker 2 (06:54):
So feet's been here for a while since nineteen ninety six.

Speaker 8 (06:58):
Unbelievable list autism nonprofit here in Las Vegas.

Speaker 4 (07:02):
Wow wow, Now if people wanted to learn more about
the incredible work that Families for Effective Autism Treatment of
Southern Nevada does AKA FEET, where can people go and
learn more?

Speaker 2 (07:13):
How can they be involved? Is all welcome? Give us
all those details.

Speaker 8 (07:16):
Yes, they can visit our website at FEATSNV dot org.
We also have a parent hotline which is seven zero
two three six eight three three two eight. We are
always looking for volunteers, always looking for sponsors to help
support our programming that we do.

Speaker 2 (07:36):
I should mention everything we do is for free for families.

Speaker 4 (07:39):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (07:40):
We don't ever ask a dime from our families.

Speaker 8 (07:42):
So I am out there hitting the streets a lot
doing fundraising, but I don't mind because it's for a
good cause and for you know, these amazing families and
kiddos that we support.

Speaker 2 (07:52):
So definitely Wow.

Speaker 5 (07:54):
Executive director for Families for Effective Autism Treatment of Southern Nevada,
Jennifer's Trouble. You have in lovely to chat with this morning.
Thank you so much for coming in and spending some
time with us, and thank you so much.

Speaker 4 (08:04):
Thank you for your dedication to this incredible organization for
the past sixteen years. I feel like we talked to
a lot of women, but to know that you've been
involved in the same organization doing what you do every
day for sixteen years is incredible.

Speaker 2 (08:16):
Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Speaker 1 (08:17):
What to watch, where to go, and what everyone's talking about?

Speaker 2 (08:21):
Here we go Joe in the.

Speaker 5 (08:22):
Now, All things Hollywood and entertainment this morning.

Speaker 6 (08:25):
What's going on, Joanna?

Speaker 4 (08:26):
Well, things make it a little emotional because I do
have an update in regards to Savannah Gun three and
that family. But before I get into that, let's talk
about Brian Latrell from the Backstreet Boys.

Speaker 2 (08:35):
Now.

Speaker 4 (08:36):
You know, he's kind of actually dealing with a bit
of a scary situation at home in Florida right now. Now,
I'm sure you've seen the headlines. I feel like this
has been going on for maybe a little over a
year now, but you know, he lives on a private
beach in Florida and things escalated way too far when
somebody was like hanging out in the beach and Brian
and his wife asked him to leave. There is a lawsuit,

(08:56):
all this back and forth, and now Brian is saying
that he and his family have received threats online, including
messages about burning down that beach house and bringing guns
to their property.

Speaker 5 (09:07):
Okay, that is way over the line, as way over
for even if you disagree with it, that's crossing way
too many lines.

Speaker 4 (09:12):
Yeah, so there was already you know, legal stuff involved,
and now it's honestly getting kind of terrifying for him.
And his family. So I wish him nothing but the best.
That cannot be fun. Let's talk about Chapel Rone this morning. Now,
she's catching some attention from her surprise appearance in Hannah
Montana twentieth anniversary special on Disney Plus.

Speaker 6 (09:29):
I know it's a huge deal for so many people.

Speaker 4 (09:31):
I know we've all heard about that, right, But so
she popped up. She praised Miley Cyrus for walking so
she could run, which is very nice. But fans, you know,
they're kind of divided right now on her. I don't
know if you've seen the headlines about her in the
recent controversy, including that security guard and a mother and
a child who are supposedly they just wanted to meet
chapel but she was super rude and the security guard
was even ruder.

Speaker 6 (09:52):
Yeah, that was upsetting.

Speaker 4 (09:53):
Yeah, so the Internet divided as usuals But I'm sure
you know, chapel Rone will.

Speaker 2 (09:57):
Get more headlines very soon on this exit. We'll see.
But finally, let's talk about Savannah gun three.

Speaker 4 (10:03):
She's actually had her first interview recently since her mother,
Nancy Gunthrie, disappeared early February from Arizona.

Speaker 2 (10:11):
Now, she sat down with her friend Hoda.

Speaker 4 (10:13):
And you know, she broke down very raw interview describing
her family's agony, pleading for anyone with information to come forward.
And now this interview, you know, it's so raw and heartbreaking.
They're actually gonna be airing it in parts throughout the week.
But you know, one of the reasons she wanted to
do this was just to try to get more attention
to anybody with information, just to please.

Speaker 2 (10:33):
Come forward about Nancy.

Speaker 6 (10:35):
Heartbreaking story.

Speaker 2 (10:36):
Tough stuff there.

Speaker 4 (10:36):
But that's your entertainment report for this morning. I'm Joe
and now you're in the No Stuning one O six.
It's Joanna and Sean hand it out finds this morning
laying down the law.

Speaker 2 (10:51):
There's bad adult behavior everywhere and we're calling out.

Speaker 5 (10:55):
So this started because I saw I witnessed Joanna two
adult grown men can inspire to cut a long line
to Disneyland and they got away with it. I was
furious and like, wow, maybe not illegal. You gotta find
like that's a one hundred dollars fine for each of
those dudes. You got to keep people in line.

Speaker 2 (11:11):
Disney jail, yes, banned for the day.

Speaker 5 (11:13):
Last hour, Lindsay said we should find people for spending
too much time at the in the line at the
fast food joint and then not knowing what they want
at the front of the line. Great answer, do you
have one you're gonna what are you gonna find someone for?

Speaker 6 (11:25):
Jo Oh my gosh.

Speaker 4 (11:26):
For bad adult behavior, I just think, you know, I
want to see, like chivalry still exists, and sometimes I
noticed people just not holding doors for people.

Speaker 6 (11:37):
That's a fine, that's a fine.

Speaker 4 (11:39):
Because I just think, like, you know, it's like, look
behind you. If you see somebody like coming up and
they're like, it's like they're one second of way of
also entering the door. Yes, like take that extra second
and hold it open for that person and then listen.
It's not it's not just men who do that. It's
women too. Like I see it all the time, Like,
look behind you, hold the door, be courteous.

Speaker 6 (11:59):
I love it.

Speaker 5 (11:59):
Like a citizens rest anyone who can hand out that's fine.

Speaker 2 (12:02):
Yeah, thanks two seconds.

Speaker 5 (12:04):
Desiree, good morning. What's what's that bad adult behavior you
think deserves a fine?

Speaker 3 (12:10):
It's how people act in a movie theater. Okay, so
if you're if you're talking, if you have your phone
out and texting and distracting other people from the movie
that they paid for. If you're throwing food and garbage
on the floor, if I mean, just stay home, just
you don't know how to act, so to stay home.
You are fine.

Speaker 6 (12:29):
You are my kind of people.

Speaker 3 (12:31):
Yes, it's ridiculous how people act in public.

Speaker 5 (12:34):
It's got it's gotten worse too over the years. It's
like people's uh, their ability to maintain focused on the
movie on the screen. Has this gotten less and less
and people are so more easily distracted by their phones
and their own conversations.

Speaker 6 (12:46):
Get them all out. I love you, Desiree.

Speaker 3 (12:48):
It's terrible. We went to see a scary movie recently
and there were in front of us two full rows
of middle schoolers. Somebody just dropped off and it was
a rated R movie. I'm like, you guys don't even
to be here. There's where's the one parent that a
bought all these tickets and then just dropped you up.
I think the parents should have been fine for them.

Speaker 2 (13:10):
It's been a very hefty fine.

Speaker 6 (13:12):
But you're right.

Speaker 2 (13:12):
Just totally agree with you on that one.

Speaker 3 (13:14):
Desire fantastic. I thought i'd be everybody.

Speaker 6 (13:18):
Appreciate you, desire have a great.

Speaker 4 (13:19):
Day, you too, Oh man, I mean, if I had,
you know, a nickel for every time I've been in
a theater with somebody who's been chatty, I'd I'd be rich.

Speaker 6 (13:30):
All right, Yeah, no joke.

Speaker 5 (13:32):
Come on, Sunny Story of Today something Jamega smile here?

Speaker 6 (13:35):
Coming up next? What's going on?

Speaker 4 (13:36):
Yes, well, new doors, brighter lights, it's all happening right
here in downtown Las Vegas.

Speaker 2 (13:41):
Help local businesses and we'll tell you why. Coming up
in today's Sunny Story of the Day. That's next.

Speaker 1 (13:47):
Wake up with Sunny Mornings with Joanna and Sean.

Speaker 2 (13:50):
On Sunny one, I was six point five, Sunny who
was six point five? It's Joinna and Sean.

Speaker 4 (13:55):
We all love to laugh, right especially midweek when we
need it more than ever, and we're gonna do that
with the Sonny Funny.

Speaker 6 (14:03):
Got you with the Sonny Bunny.

Speaker 2 (14:05):
All right, Sean, what's you find this morning?

Speaker 5 (14:07):
I love music studies and finding out what your music
says about you, specifically, in this case, what it predicts
about your relationship behavior. And you're not going to believe
which music fans are let's say, most easily distracted the cheaters, Joanna,
come on, really, so this survey it looked at thousands

(14:27):
of people, and it found get this that jazz fans
are most likely to cheat.

Speaker 2 (14:34):
The cruis the sweet talkers of the world.

Speaker 5 (14:38):
Okay, if you've got a jazz fan in your life,
lookout ah now right now. That is followed by salsa
and pop fans. And meanwhile, the least likely group you're
not going to believe this Joanna. Heavy metal fans really yes, apparently.
I mean, jazz just gets people on their feelings, but
interesting metal makes you loyal.

Speaker 4 (14:58):
And I guess I would have guessed the hip hoppers
of the world would have been high up there in
the in the cheating realm.

Speaker 6 (15:05):
Not apparently not. I don't know.

Speaker 5 (15:06):
I didn't see where they fell on the study here.
But I mean, if look, if your partner gets really
into jazz, keep an eye on their playlist, all right,
because metal fans are just apparently just too busy headbang
and to worry about finding another lover.

Speaker 4 (15:18):
The focused on the music, the mash pits and their partners.

Speaker 2 (15:22):
All right, we like that, we like it.

Speaker 5 (15:23):
That is yours sonny funny of the day. Who knew
jazz would be a red flag?

Speaker 6 (15:27):
Good to know?

Speaker 1 (15:28):
Right?

Speaker 6 (15:29):
Coming up next, what do we find here?

Speaker 4 (15:32):
Oh, I know what we're going to talk about. Because
people are using AI for everything these days, right, and
we talk about that a lot, but now they're even
using it to end relationships.

Speaker 2 (15:42):
Yes, that's a thing, and we're going to get into
it this morning. Sonny Little six, Sonny Winter was six
point five. It's Joanna and Sean. You know, awkward conversations.

Speaker 4 (15:56):
Are hard, like breaking up with people, but really people
are actually having chat GPT and other AI services chime
in on breaking up with somebody, giving them the perfect letdown.

Speaker 5 (16:09):
The prompts here, what are you putting into specifically to
things like chat GBT, Just hey, gently dump this person
for me, right, I mean?

Speaker 6 (16:18):
And then what's it spitting back?

Speaker 5 (16:19):
And here's the thing, Johanna, I actually don't hate this, don't.
I don't think this is like a terrible thing, okay.

Speaker 2 (16:25):
Even though it lacks actual human emotion.

Speaker 5 (16:28):
Yeah, I think some of us, I think some of
us might struggles sometimes with the flowery language the like look,
I think I know you probably hate this.

Speaker 2 (16:40):
I mean, I listen at the end of the day.

Speaker 4 (16:41):
I always think it's best if, like real humans express
their real feelings. But I do understand the sense of
that breakups are awkward and so sometimes it is hard
to find the right words.

Speaker 5 (16:53):
I'm not saying everyone should be doing this, nor am
I saying that you should be cutting and pasting directly
from chat GPT. Sure, but if you can get some guidance,
like if you can freak up inpo, yeah, like if
you like people get help from everywhere, people learn in
different ways, break up in spe yes, if you can
get some breakup in spo from chat GPT or I

(17:14):
don't know whatever rosa is out there, but then repurpose it,
put it in your own words, help you find your
own words. I think maybe that's a place to start,
but I mean no, don't don't cut in paste from
chat GPT into a text message.

Speaker 4 (17:27):
You know what, Sean, You've actually slightly changed my mind
when talking with me about this now, because honestly, I think,
if you're gonna go out of your way to break
up with somebody like gently and kindly and like you
don't feel like you have the actual words yourself, but
you turn to like AI to do so, it actually
kind of shows that the person cares in a weird way,

(17:47):
like you know what I mean, Like they're being extra considerate.
So like, maybe I'm on board with this a little
bit more now, Well, you're you're gonna get further away
from me here, because on the other hand, if I.

Speaker 5 (17:57):
Mean, if you say, hey, chat GPT, I need you
to burn this person. I'm all for the pettiness here too.
If you need the help to truly break someone's spirit, oh,
because they have truly wronged you and they deserve it right,
then go for that too.

Speaker 2 (18:12):
Go for it too.

Speaker 4 (18:12):
But nonetheless, either way you look at it, it shows.

Speaker 2 (18:15):
Your care right, you want to get the right words.

Speaker 4 (18:18):
You care a lot to say the right thing, and
sometimes a robot needs to help us with that, I guess.

Speaker 1 (18:24):
Sunny Mornings with Joanna and Sean listen live weekdays from
five to ten.

Speaker 2 (18:28):
On Sunday one o six point five
