Speaker 1 (00:00):
Las Vegas wakes Up with Joanna and Sean.

Speaker 2 (00:02):
Here's what you missed on Sunday Mornings.

Speaker 3 (00:05):
What if your job, Joanna gave you a day off
just hit the mall.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
Excuse me. That's like a dream job right there.

Speaker 1 (00:13):
It's real.

Speaker 3 (00:14):
It's a real thing that's happening Sunday Mornings with Joanna
and Sean on Sunny Moue to six point five. We all,
I mean we all get time off, right, things like
vacation days, holidays, six days berievement. There is a PR
agency called Retail Therapy or retail pr and they're giving
their employees time off basically to do shopping. They're calling

(00:34):
it retail therapy. Exactly what that is?

Speaker 2 (00:37):
That sounds amazing.

Speaker 4 (00:39):
I mean just to be able to I mean right
here in Las Vegas, just be able to go browse
the mall for like an hour or two with like
totally change my mindset, right.

Speaker 3 (00:47):
And apparently it's working for them, like her tiktoks are
getting great responses. The woman who runs this company and
people calling her a dream boss. Businesses up. So it's
working for them, it's not hindering them, right wow. So
it proves that you can and you know, treat people
well and still run a successful business. So my question,
Joanna is what would you want a day off to do?
If not for retail therapy, if not a day to

(01:09):
go shopping, what designated day off would you want from
your boss?

Speaker 2 (01:13):
Uh?

Speaker 4 (01:13):
You know, I mean I feel I mean, listen, we
work odd hours compared to a lot of people out there.
But I just think in general, if you just got
time off anytime, like your kid has something at school,
but like you can attend as a parent, like because
for now, for right now, like I'm always taking time
off to do that vacation time. And I think like
if companies are like listen, if it's kid school related,

(01:35):
you just get that time.

Speaker 2 (01:36):
Yeah, I think that would just make you right, change
the mindset, make you want to work harder.

Speaker 4 (01:42):
You really truly have work life balance support at that,
you know, with something like that.

Speaker 2 (01:46):
So that would be amazing for me.

Speaker 3 (01:48):
My daughter has an a words ceremony this morning that
I am missing.

Speaker 4 (01:52):
So no, it just it's like, oh, dagger to the heart,
Like I trust, Like I deal with that all the time.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
And I'm like, do I take a full vacation day today? Oh?
The company just allowed it? It would be amazing.

Speaker 3 (02:04):
I know some places offer things like mental health days
and things like that, right, but I think what I
would want is just a nap day.

Speaker 1 (02:11):
Like I know, I.

Speaker 3 (02:12):
Know, technically, sure you can do that on a vacation day,
but I want a designated sleep day, just rest, a.

Speaker 1 (02:19):
Day of rest.

Speaker 2 (02:20):
That sounds beautiful.

Speaker 3 (02:21):
Because even on the weekends, I feel like I'm playing
catch up with life. You hardly get to enjoy it.
I try to do as much as I can with
my kids and never take time for myself. So if
I could take a day just to hit my hammock
now after the early hours that you and I pull
and think about.

Speaker 4 (02:36):
That, like how again, like four companies, like it really
would benefit them. You'd come back refresh, more vibrant, like
ready to work harder because you feel well rested.

Speaker 2 (02:46):
Oh great, idea, What kind.

Speaker 3 (02:49):
Of a day off would you want from your company?
Seven oh two seven nine six one oh six five.
Retail therapy is a real thing that's happening and working
for one pr agent. We'd love to hear from you
coming up just after seven. What do we got going
on here? We've got Club Nouveau nickelback on the way
and after seven h Joanna, I have an update on

(03:10):
a buddy of mine who was getting in trouble for
not doing chores.

Speaker 2 (03:12):
Yes, I remember that. I want I want to hear
all about it.

Speaker 3 (03:15):
Well, it's kind of blown up in his face, so
I'll bring you up just speeding a little bit.

Speaker 2 (03:21):
Sonny one six point five.

Speaker 3 (03:26):
Joanna and Sean on Sunny Window six point five.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
Joanna.

Speaker 3 (03:30):
If you're gonna ask someone to do chores, is it
then fair to critique the way that.

Speaker 1 (03:35):
They do them?

Speaker 3 (03:36):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (03:37):
I mean I don't think so.

Speaker 1 (03:39):
Seven two seven nine six five, Joanna.

Speaker 3 (03:42):
I told you a while back about my buddy, Christian,
who was told he could work from home three days
a week and his wife was like, you need to
start doing chores around the house.

Speaker 4 (03:50):
Yeah, And she like didn't really understand that he was
actually working from home.

Speaker 2 (03:53):
Didn't mean that he had all this time to clean.

Speaker 3 (03:55):
Yeah, you can't paint the house. I mean maybe they
were wing a load of laundry here and there, right,
But anyway, he's come around. He was doing some chores
around the house, but she's not happy with the way
he's doing them.

Speaker 2 (04:05):
Oh, so now she's like he's taking them.

Speaker 1 (04:07):
Yes, he's not doing well enough.

Speaker 3 (04:09):
So he was like, dude, I am, I'm just gonna
stop doing the chores, like I'm going back to square one.

Speaker 4 (04:15):
And I'm like, I don't know, man, I mean I
could get I understand his frustration though, right, because.

Speaker 2 (04:21):
Then it's like he's stepping up and now he's.

Speaker 4 (04:23):
Going to be critiqued for everything he does like that
that is frustrating.

Speaker 1 (04:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (04:27):
So, I mean he says he's trying his best and
just nothing is good enough for her. I'm on one hand,
on my I kind of I kind of get it.
Let her if she wants them done a certain way,
she can do them right.

Speaker 1 (04:38):
But I don't know.

Speaker 3 (04:38):
At the same time, I also see like the you know,
happy wife, happy life, you know, share the responsibility type thing. Yeah,
Kim think thanks for joining in here. What are your
what are your thoughts? Is he a jerk?

Speaker 1 (04:49):
Here?

Speaker 5 (04:51):
Okay, this's got a funny because I feel like I've
been hearing about this whole like weaponized incompetent thing of
like like men do it a bad job so they
don't have.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
To do stuff.

Speaker 5 (05:02):
I know that's not exactly what's happening here, but it
does kind of sound similar I think that even though
this man is clearly getting his feelings hurt, it's one
of those things where it's like she's been doing this
work for like ever without your help. You need to
go learn how to do it. If you're not doing
a good job, you need to keep trying until you
do a better job. But I think she also could
probably be a little nicer.

Speaker 4 (05:23):
Yeah, okay, I mean yeah, I mean listen, some things
can get you know, a little tedious though, like how
he folds towels and stuff like that.

Speaker 2 (05:31):
Like I think there's got to be compromise.

Speaker 5 (05:33):
Yeah, yeah, they got to compromise a little bit.

Speaker 3 (05:35):
Okay, but' he should be getting an a for effort here,
right for trying?

Speaker 1 (05:40):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (05:41):
Yeah, Like is.

Speaker 5 (05:42):
It bad or is it just not the way you
would usually do it? Because I think that warrants a conversation.
But I also think he needs to go figure out
like how to do some stuff because he's probably if
he doesn't do it very often, he's probably not doing
things very well.

Speaker 3 (05:55):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (05:56):
Point, So you think he's a jerk for this?

Speaker 5 (06:00):
Yeah, I think so.

Speaker 2 (06:01):
God, you can't win now, Nope, poor Christian Listen, I
am on Christian side.

Speaker 3 (06:09):
So I hope someone someone else better be seven seven
nine six one six five Joanna, we have a sunny
story of the day here coming up next.

Speaker 4 (06:17):
What you find, Yes, we do, all right, Well, it's
about teddy bears and making people smile here in our community.

Speaker 2 (06:23):
It's your sunny story of the day and it's up next.

Speaker 1 (06:26):
Good vines, good people, and good news.

Speaker 2 (06:28):
Time for your sunny story of the day.

Speaker 3 (06:30):
You got a great local piece of positivity for you
this morning.

Speaker 1 (06:33):
What's happened in Jordanna.

Speaker 2 (06:34):
Yeah, this one's gonna make your heart smile this morning.
So the Discovery.

Speaker 4 (06:38):
Children's Museum teamed up with Inner Mountain Health over the
weekend for the Teddy Bear Clinic, and it's honestly just
as durable as it sounds. So kids brought their favorite
teddy bear or stuff animal and they were checked out
by real doctors and caregivers all because it was a
doctor's day.

Speaker 2 (06:57):
Over the weekend.

Speaker 4 (06:58):
So they wrapped band they listen to heartbeats, and they
asked questions to the doctors on site, you know, just
to make sure they're best, you know, furry friends.

Speaker 2 (07:07):
They were in good condition.

Speaker 1 (07:09):
Doctor's visits can be kind of scary if you're a kid.

Speaker 3 (07:11):
So when you take something comforting like their teddy bear
and make it the focal points, I think it makes
it a lot more easy to digest.

Speaker 4 (07:18):
Yeah, I mean, you had it right in the head
right there. It was all about kind of taking the
fear out of doctor visits and replacing it with comfort
and fun and a great way also to thank great
doctors here in our community because we have a lot
of them and so they were able to hang out
with the kids, make the experience not so scary, and
of course the teddy bears and the stuffies they all

(07:38):
went home with a clean bill of health, so you
can't beat that. If you want to read more about
Doctor's Day and this incredible program, you cad right now.

Speaker 6 (07:58):
My good news is that I survived meeting my son's
fiance's family.

Speaker 3 (08:04):
Ah that that can definitely be kind of nerve wracking.

Speaker 4 (08:06):
So it went well, Yeah, No, I was really nervous,
you know, because I don't.

Speaker 6 (08:11):
Know, I just I can be a little shy at times,
especially with people that I've never met before.

Speaker 2 (08:17):
Yeah, but it went pretty well.

Speaker 6 (08:19):
It went pretty well.

Speaker 2 (08:20):
Ah, we love that.

Speaker 4 (08:21):
So y'all gonna be, you know, hitting the Las Vegas
Strip together, going to casinos shows, now besties or what.

Speaker 6 (08:27):
Well, not quite, but you know, they're very nice.

Speaker 5 (08:32):
I was kind of I was.

Speaker 6 (08:33):
I was a little afraid of how they were, you know,
whether they'd be friendly or whether they'd be.

Speaker 5 (08:38):
Kind of a little cold.

Speaker 4 (08:39):
But they were very nice.

Speaker 6 (08:41):
They were warm, lovely people. So I feel much.

Speaker 2 (08:44):
More at ease now.

Speaker 1 (08:46):
Great, you get some good in laws.

Speaker 2 (08:47):
Absolutely Sunny One six.

Speaker 4 (08:53):
Sunday Mornings with Joanna and Sean right here on Sunny
when I was six point five. And we are proud
supporters of an initiative that we call Women Who Shine.

Speaker 2 (09:01):
We do this every Women's History.

Speaker 4 (09:03):
Month, and so it's back this March, and we have
some incredible women that we are able to feature each morning.

Speaker 3 (09:09):
This morning joining us in the studio. Rochelle Win. She
is the CEO of Candle Lighters. Now we are fortunate
enough to host their glamp out a couple of years ago,
Rachelle Frennie, who's not familiar with the mission of Candle Lighters,
could you just tell us about it again.

Speaker 7 (09:22):
The full title is Candle Lighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of Nevada.
We serve families, and when I say serve families, not
only the kids that are in treatment that have had
a diagnosis cancer, but also all of the family, the
entire family. That is our mission. We provide not only
financial resources, think play therapy. We have our big camp out,

(09:44):
hence the reason we have glamp out to kind of
support that cause. I go in, I see the people
I work with, They're just incredible. They have that same
kind of passion. We have survivors. We have parents that
are Candlelighter moms, shall letter dads that come in and
are able to take advantage of our services. Even in
those unfortunate circumstances where people have lost their kids, their

(10:07):
families are still candle Lighter families come back year after
year to take part in breathing activities, memory like opportunities
and counseling opportunities. Because once a candle Lighter family, always
a Candlelighter family, and to be a part of that
organization and be able to take the experience I have
and use it to help lead this organization to the

(10:28):
next level is just an incredible gift.

Speaker 4 (10:31):
That I have absolutely now I know candle Lighters has
a strong history here in southern Nevada. Where can people
actually go to learn more, maybe to get involved, to
attend one of your incredible upcoming events.

Speaker 2 (10:44):
Where can they get more information about candlelight.

Speaker 7 (10:46):
Our website is an incredible place to go. We will
be in touch with you almost immediately. So candle Lighters
and v like Nevada dot org, so candle lightersenv dot
org is probably the best place to go. You can
find out about volunteer opportunities, you can find out about
donation opportunities, you can find out about the activities that

(11:07):
we have. And we're already getting ready for our Superhero
five K in September, which is like our biggest fundraiser,
and we're super excited to be able to take that
to the next level. So that is an opportunity for
people to come up there, dress up like a superhero,
see our kids who are our everyday superhero sure, and

(11:28):
it's wonderful.

Speaker 2 (11:29):
That's so awesome.

Speaker 1 (11:30):
Rachelle Winn. Thank you so much for coming in.

Speaker 3 (11:32):
You've been incredibly inspiring and we hope to see more
of you again in the near future.

Speaker 7 (11:37):
No, I would love to come here be able to
talk about anything that you want me to. But if
it's candle lighters, you know, I will drive across town
and around the world to get over here and.

Speaker 2 (11:47):
Talk about the organization. Awesome.

Speaker 4 (11:49):
Thank you so much for being a part of our
twenty twenty six Women Who Shine.

Speaker 3 (11:53):
What to watch, where to go, and what everyone's talking about.

Speaker 1 (11:56):
Here we go, Joe in the now with all things entertainment.

Speaker 4 (12:00):
What's happening, Well, let's kick it off with big news
on the Las Vegas Strip. Lisa from Black Pink is
coming to Las Vegas and she's making history because she's
gonna be the first K pop superstar.

Speaker 2 (12:13):
To get their very own Las Vegas residents.

Speaker 1 (12:16):
I'm so and my daughter's gonna love this.

Speaker 3 (12:18):
You can the influence of K pop undeniable at this point.

Speaker 4 (12:21):
Yes, I love the title of the residency, Viva la Lisa.
It's gonna be the coliseum at Caesar's Palace. Now she's
gonna take the stage this November. Tickets will go on
sale end of April. But you know, these tickets are
gonna go fast.

Speaker 1 (12:35):
Oh for sure, people gonna drive in from all over
for that.

Speaker 2 (12:37):
That's would be awesome.

Speaker 4 (12:38):
Now, a lot of people talking about events from over
the weekend.

Speaker 2 (12:40):
One of those events was Paul McCartney's concert that.

Speaker 4 (12:43):
He had at the Fonda Theater in La Now, Taylor
Swift was there, but so were John Mayor and Olivia Rodrigo,
and fans were kind of speculating were there any run
ins because that's her ax, right John Mayer, And there
was a little bit of beef with Olivia Rodrigo too,
But who knows. I guess we'll never know if they
all played nice.

Speaker 2 (13:02):
Together at Paul McCartney's.

Speaker 3 (13:03):
Concert or not. I wasn't expecting that trio to be
all hanging out together.

Speaker 2 (13:08):
Yeah right, I can't wait for those photos now.

Speaker 4 (13:11):
Another piece of Las Vegas news Jennifer Lopez. She's been
having her j Lo's Show residency that came to an
end over the weekend.

Speaker 2 (13:19):
But before those shows kicked.

Speaker 4 (13:21):
Off, she actually threw a private free show at Caesar's
Palace for about a thousand.

Speaker 2 (13:26):
Friends and family. And I mean, who has a thousand
friends and family members?

Speaker 3 (13:31):
Jennifer Lopez does she sure does. I feel like that's
the kind of setting I would want to see Jennifer
Lopez in.

Speaker 2 (13:36):
I know me too.

Speaker 4 (13:37):
Now this performance was professionally recorded. Insiders are saying, so,
who knows what it's going to be used for, maybe
a future like TV special or something. I guess we'll
all have to wait around for that one. And that's
your Joe in the Note Entertainment Report. I'm Joe, and
now you're in the No Sunning.

Speaker 2 (13:53):
One o six point.

Speaker 1 (13:58):
Tales from my group text.

Speaker 3 (13:59):
Here this morning is my buddy Christian being a jerk
for giving up on doing the chores after being critiqued
by his wife on how well he does them. It's
Joanna and Sean here on Sunny Window six point five. So, Joanna,
a while back, this is interesting because you've done like
a one to eighty on this A little bit sure,
my buddy Christian, he's working from home like sixty percent
of the time. His wife was demanding that he do

(14:20):
chores more of them now that he's working from home,
which he was reluctant about. Yes, and you were on
her side at first. I was mm hm.

Speaker 1 (14:27):
And now he has.

Speaker 3 (14:28):
Reluctantly been doing them, but she has not stop critiquing
the poor job he's doing on these chores.

Speaker 1 (14:33):
He's like, you know what, forgetting I'm not doing them anymore.

Speaker 4 (14:35):
Yeah, because I think it's all I'm all about, like
partners helping out within the household. But then like, if
your partner is helping out, don't get on them, you know,
don't belittle them in any way, shape or form, like
don't discourage them, you know, from.

Speaker 2 (14:50):
Wanting to help.

Speaker 4 (14:51):
I think there's definitely an easier approach, like there's you know,
he doesn't put the dishes in the dishwasher correctly. Okay,
well that's an easy sex communicate how you want that die.
But don't like reprimmend him for like helping. I don't
think that's fair.

Speaker 3 (15:04):
I've done like a one to eighty on this too,
because here I'm saying like, I don't know, man, you
might want to just keep doing those chores.

Speaker 1 (15:10):
Keep your wife heavy that you know all.

Speaker 2 (15:12):
About happy wife? Yeah, be life exactly.

Speaker 3 (15:16):
Alyssa is on the line here, good morning, What are
your what are your thoughts here on this?

Speaker 1 (15:19):
Is he being a jerk?

Speaker 3 (15:21):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (15:22):
This is a tough one. I know, isn't it.

Speaker 4 (15:24):
I mean, maybe he should still make an effort so.

Speaker 5 (15:28):
She doesn't feel like she's doing too much.

Speaker 6 (15:30):
But I mean, if I put myself in his shoes,
he's like, I can't win.

Speaker 1 (15:35):
I don't think he's a jerk.

Speaker 3 (15:37):
Wow, Okay, you're the first one to be so you're
on You're on team.

Speaker 4 (15:40):
Not a jerk then, yeah, yeah, I mean I feel
for Christian this morning.

Speaker 2 (15:46):
I think I don't think it's fun when you.

Speaker 4 (15:47):
Try to help out and you get chastised for it,
like it's not fun.

Speaker 1 (15:51):
Yeah, you just can't do it right.

Speaker 6 (15:52):
He can't win, so don't bother.

Speaker 3 (15:54):
Yeah, awesome. A lot of people living you here listen
this morning. Thanks for the call, all right, of course
that's notes, guys, take notes of what Alis is saying
over here. I don't think we're saying do nothing here,
Sonnywetter six point five? Is he being a jerk? Seven
oh two seven nine six one oh six five? Joanna,
what's coming up next in our sunny story.

Speaker 1 (16:15):
Of the day.

Speaker 4 (16:15):
Yeah, I'm going to tell you how Teddy Bears are
helping kids in our community feel braver and doctors feel
appreciate it as your sunny story to day.

Speaker 2 (16:23):
It's going to make you smile, and it's coming up
next Sonny Mole six.

Speaker 3 (16:32):
I'm afraid if Christian doesn't get it together, Joanna, that
he's going to get served with some divorce papers. Here, Yes,
come on Sunny Mornings the Joanna and Sean on Sunnywitter
six point five. Audience has been split thus far on
whether or not he's being a jerk here working from
home three days a week.

Speaker 1 (16:50):
Didn't want to do chores. He sucked it up. He's
doing the chores.

Speaker 3 (16:53):
Problem is his wife is criticizing him heavily, making a
lot of remarks about how poorly he's doing the chores,
so he doesn't want to.

Speaker 1 (17:00):
Do him anymore.

Speaker 4 (17:01):
Yeah, I mean, can't blame the guy, right, It's like
he's stepping up, he's helping out, and now he's being critiqued.

Speaker 2 (17:07):
That's not a fun feeling.

Speaker 3 (17:08):
We'll take one more call on this. See if we've
got a tiebreaker in here, Jen, what's going on? Is
Christian being a jerk? What do you think?

Speaker 6 (17:16):
I think he's fine. I mean, I understand like the impulse.
You know, you're trying your best to improve and then
you feel like you're getting an agg at. I totally
get that, but I mean I think he needs to
understand where his wife's coming from too. I don't know, like,
listen to the woman you marry.

Speaker 2 (17:34):
Do you think he just needs to step it up
into a better job with those chores.

Speaker 6 (17:37):
Huh yeah, and don't take the little comments so personally,
you know, just just let it's live, keep trying your
best every day.

Speaker 1 (17:46):
All right.

Speaker 3 (17:46):
I think you're right a little bit, but you're in
the camp of he is being a jerk, so he
needs to suck it up and do better. Yeah, okay, then,
well good point, thank you, Jen.

Speaker 1 (17:59):
Yeah, well there we go. There we have it.

Speaker 3 (18:02):
Christian, I regret to inform you, if you are listening,
friend audience, thanks for being a jerk man. You got
to sug it up and do a better job of
those chores, regardless of what she might be saying to you.

Speaker 2 (18:12):
All right, and just remember happy why Happy life.

Speaker 3 (18:16):
Coming up here next we got an hour of commercial
free music, and a little bit later in the show
nine forty we got some more.

Speaker 1 (18:22):
Tickets for you too.

Speaker 4 (18:23):
That's right, talkback for tickets your chance to see TLC,
Salt and Pepa with n Vogue at Fountain Blue. Your
first chance to win those tickets coming up at ninety.

Speaker 2 (18:33):
Sunny one six.

Speaker 4 (18:38):

one of six point five.

Speaker 2 (18:42):
