Of the Pumpkin Patch Chickens. It was a cold October

by the fence line. When I got closer, I saw
it a single pumpkin, perfectly round, perfectly orange, sitting exactly
where I have never planted one, and carved into the

been bragging for weeks about his pumpkin patch Paradise, said
he'd grown the biggest gourds in Alabama. But something about
this one felt wrong. Then I heard it, a soft cluck.
The chickens started circling the pumpkin, eyes glowing orange in

But when I turned away, just for a second, the

spent some time. I wrote a Halloween story, produced it.
Producer Blake and I are the characters. It's called the
Curse of the Pumpkin Patch Chickens. In case you missed it,
my chickens were clucking at something in the woodline of
pumpkin had b LA carved.

Middle stood Producer Blake, holding his pumpkin spice latte like
a trophy.

out rolled something small and fluffy.

Before I could move, the vine shot out and wrapped
around my boots. The chickens were closing in, glowing like
jack o' lanterns with feathers.

and I was like, dude, I literally saw somebody walking

behind me. And Lucy has been in her room the
entire time. Well, years and years ago, her dad's best
friend that ran over on his bike and he was
a blonde.

I spent all day the other day producing it, doing
all the fun things, and I would like to present
you with the story. Here's the first half of it,
all right, Yeah, first half This is called the Curse.

Well, actually, just you know what. Here's part one, The Curse.
Speaker 4 (06:26):
Of the Pumpkin Patch Chickens. It was a cold October
morning on the farm, Fog rolled through the chicken coop
like smoke from a witch's cauldron. My roosters were quiet,
too quiet. Even Dolly, the hen who usually greets me

with attitude before coffee, was frozen, staring at something out
by the fence line. When I got closer, I saw
it a single pumpkin, perfectly round, perfectly orange, sitting exactly
where I have never planted one, and carved into the
side or three letters v L A. Producer Blake had

been bragging for weeks about his pumpkin patch Paradise, said
he'd grown the biggest gourds in Alabama. But something about
this one felt wrong. Then I heard it, a soft cluck.
The chickens started circling the pumpkin, eyes glowing orange in

the fog, and one by one they began to.
Speaker 3 (07:41):
Peck at it.
Speaker 4 (07:42):
But when I turned away, just for a second, the
pumpkin wasn't there anymore.
Speaker 6 (07:49):
And that's when.

I knew Producer Blake's pumpkin spice obsession had gone too far.

My Halloween story is amazing. So me and chat GPT
spent some time. I wrote a Halloween story, produced it.
Producer Blake and I are the characters. It's called the
Curse of the Pumpkin Patch Chickens. In case you missed it,
my chickens were clucking at something in the woodline of
pumpkin had b LA carved.

All right, here we go.

By the time I made it to Blake's pumpkin patch,
the sky had turned blood orange. Rows of pumpkins stretched
across the field, every single one glowing faintly like candles
lit from the inside.

And right in the.

Middle stood Producer Blake, holding his pumpkin spice latte like
a trophy.
Speaker 5 (09:08):
Well, the pumpkin head or maybe pumpkin.
Speaker 4 (09:13):
Head behind him, I swear the pumpkins started chanting.
Speaker 3 (09:19):
Pia, so p I sell, p I sell.
Speaker 4 (09:23):
Their vines slithered through the dirt like snakes and one
wrapped around Producer Blake's leg.
Speaker 3 (09:28):
He didn't even notice.
Speaker 4 (09:30):
He was too busy bragging about his new pumpkin scented
beard oil. Then one of the pumpkins split open and
out rolled something small and fluffy.
Speaker 3 (09:42):
It was a chicken, but not just any chicken. This
one had pumpkin eyes.
Speaker 4 (09:53):
Before I could move, the vine shot out and wrapped
around my boots. The chickens were closing in, glowing like
jack o' lanterns with feathers.
Speaker 7 (10:01):
You can never escape the pumpkin patch once you've had
the spice.
Speaker 4 (10:10):
The last thing I remember was Blake offering me a
sip of his latte and whispering pumpkin spice or pumpkin sacrifice.
Speaker 5 (10:25):
Anyway, it's pretty good, right story.
Speaker 4 (10:30):
I made a glorious story about pumpkins, spices, pumpkins and chickens.

dog that would go and stand between the kitchen and
the den and just growl, and he would bark all

the time, and we couldn't figure out what he.

Was barking at. Oh know, Well, one night I was
in there on the.

Computer and I went to get me something to drink
out of the kitchen. Well, it had this huge island
in the middle of the kitchen and the refrigerator was
on the far end. So I went and got a drink,
and I brought my drink to the end that was
closest to the den and sat it on that end
of the island. I went back and got on the

computer and I was doing nothing and I hear this
glass slide across the island. In the starts feeing crazy.

And I was like, I didn't because at the moment,
I didn't know what it was. I just heard it,
and I was like, surely that's not what I thought
it was. And the dog just kept going crazy. So
I goed up and went and looked, and the doug
glass had moved to the complete opposite end of the island.

Nope, that's what when I'm going to run out of
the house.

I saw blonde hair like somebody walked behind me.

So I started calling for her and she like would
not answer me. So I thought she was messing with me.
So I went to her bedroom and she was laying
on her bed. Oh no, And I was like, were
you trying to scare me? And she was like, no,
I've been in my room the whole time. So I
texted my best friend, who was right next to me,
and I was like, dude, I literally saw somebody walking

behind me. And Lucy has been in her room the
entire time. Well, years and years ago, her dad's best
friend that ran over on his bike and he was
a blonde.
Speaker 3 (17:47):
Hair little boy. Oh my god.
Speaker 8 (17:50):
And that is not the only time we've had that experience.
Speaker 3 (17:53):
I oh know, just do you still just see the
blonde hair? Does he do anything else? I have not.

The other time that happened was my daughter was asleep
on my bed and my oldest was in her bedroom,
and I had made dinners and I had told Maddie
to come eat and let Lucy sleep. Welll she woke
up saying that Maddie wasn't there messing with her foot
and that she needed to leave her alone. No, Maddie

was on the opposite side of the house.

Nope, yeah, I know.

Do you live in this house?

I do, But like it's never been anything bad.
