Speaker 1 (00:00):
Art your day on a positive note. Awesome saw six
ten weekday mornings with the B ninety three Morning Show.
I'm so excited about this one because I'm a big
believer in it's never too late. Okay, it's never too
late to do whatever you want to do. You're never
too old, and it is never too far in life
to just check that something off your bucket list or

(00:23):
in this case, graduate from college. Eighty year old Lynnwood
Riddick graduated from South Carolina State University with a Bachelor's
of Arts in music.

Speaker 2 (00:35):
Oh, that's cool.

Speaker 1 (00:36):
He had to put his college dreams aside to serve
in the military, and segregation also didn't make things easy
when he was coming up at his age. He is
achieving his dream of graduating before he leaves this earth.
That was his goal. I love that so much. Here
he is achieving that dream. Take a listen.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
Has been with the student experience those wires provoming at
Concertrister rig you inspire.

Speaker 1 (01:19):
Oh, it was such a beautiful moment. Eighty year old
Linnwood Riddick graduating from South Carolina State University with a
Bachelor's of Art in music. He's standing up there, He's
got his cap and gown on. He's got his cords
on with his cane and he's just beaming, and I
think he might have shed a little tear too. Also,

(01:39):
you ain't gonna have to pay all those student loans
there you go. Those are not for you to worry
about it. It's never too late to do the thing
that you want to do. And mister Riddick is a
beautiful example of that. And you know what, shout out
to South Carolina State University for not just glossing over

(01:59):
that and not just treating him like any other student.
They said that he was fully involved on campus in activities,
everything that a normal student would do, even at eighty
years old. And you know, and they gave him a
little shout and a little a little a little send
off at graduates.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
I love that
