Speaker 1 (00:00):
Ninety three morning show. I'm Ali mack Im Mike.

Speaker 2 (00:02):
It's five fifty three. Here are three things you should
know today. There is another update in the case of
missing Michigan woman Lynette Hooker. Her husband has now been
released from custody in the Bahamas without any charges. Hooker,
who has ties to Onstead, disappeared earlier this month after
her husband told investigators she fell overboard during rough conditions

(00:23):
while they were sailing in the Bahamas. He has denied
any wrongdoing, and while he is no longer being held,
both Bahamian authorities and the US Coast Guard save the
investigation is still ongoing. Opening day for the new acrossuer
amphitheater is set for May fifteenth, and the city is
already working on a plan to handle parking and traffic.

(00:44):
But officials are encouraging people to think outside the box
when it comes to parking. I mean, getting downtown is
a little bit easier than getting out of downtown, especially
at night. But they're saying, you know, the rapid is
a great resource that we have here in West Michigan,
So consider parking a little bit outside, you know, the
city and taking the rapid in. Now, you do have

(01:05):
to be mindful because the rapid routes, depending on where
you bust in from, they do sort of close for
the night, shut down for the night, So just make
sure you have a plan back to your car. One
of the routes that they suggested was parking at Rivertown
and taking the bus in.

Speaker 1 (01:20):
That's kind of a good option.

Speaker 3 (01:21):
Oh that's my op. That's what I will be doing.

Speaker 1 (01:25):
It's about a dollar seventy five a ride.

Speaker 3 (01:28):
That's not bad at all.

Speaker 2 (01:29):
Now, the routes to Rivertown, you do have to be
mindful of the schedule. What time are you leaving the show?
Are they still going to be running when you leave
to get back to your car. But I thought that
was kind of a novel idea.

Speaker 1 (01:43):
Yes, especially if you just do.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
Not want to deal with the parking downtown because we
know that it is going to be crazy. I mean,
it's not like they've been building seventeen new parking structures.
What we got right now is what we got right now.

Speaker 3 (01:54):
Yeah, though, I hope that the goal is to add
add more after we see how this kind of runs, right,
but who knows we might be with this and we've
the rapid, though, is one of the best, the better buses,
the better public trans partition that I've seen anywhere. Like, yeah,
Detroit's not it's not bad, but like it's just better.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
It's just really nice.

Speaker 2 (02:16):
Yeah, roadblocks rolling out new age based accounts for kids
and teens.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
This is starting in June.

Speaker 2 (02:24):
Younger users are going to have stricter controls, so they
won't have messaging, they'll have limited games that they have
access to now. Older teens will get a little bit
more access as they grow into it. The move comes
as the company is facing multiple lawsuits over safety concerns,
So this is a pretty big shift moving towards safety
for the younger users.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
Like that, Yeah, I like that a lot because that's
the one game we don't let our kids play right
now because you just yeah you no, no, no.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:47):
The messaging feature, I think is kind of what these
lawsuits are stemming over.

Speaker 3 (02:51):
It only takes one time, right, one scenario where you're like,
I can't take back whatever just happens.

Speaker 2 (02:57):
Yeah, Like it's as three things you should know, here's
one you probably shouldn't.

Speaker 3 (03:02):
I did not know there was a tournament happening right now.
But the according to the sixty four, which is a
website and interactive voting website that hosts bracket style tournaments
across the country for like best you know, best fries,
best restaurants. Oh well, the Yester Dog was in the
competition for best hot dog and came in second place

(03:22):
in the entire country.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
Oh that they got robbed. They should have come in first.

Speaker 3 (03:26):
I agree, But second place in the entire country is
pretty solid. I've never been to the Urban Hot Dog
Company in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Okay, but I'll give it
a try. Second place is still pretty solid for the
entire country.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
Hot Doc Tour of the US here we come. Ooh,
f'm the list. Yeah, d't ATY three Sports.

Speaker 3 (03:48):
Tigers beat the Marlins yesterday eight to two, sweeping them
on the three game series.

Speaker 1 (03:52):
They play the Royals today.

Speaker 3 (03:54):
The Red Wings loss to Tampa Bay four to three.

Speaker 2 (03:57):
Coming up, We're gonna start your day on a positive note.
We've got that awesome sauce.
