Speaker 1 (00:00):
Here are three things you should know today. A fresh
wave of Canadian wildfire smoke is blowing in and it's
expected to lower air quality across the state. So if
you've got a chronic condition asthma, COPD, other breathing issues,
take it easy outdoors. The air may look fine, but
it's not going to be squeaky clean. Eagle issued and alert,
keep your windows closed, skip the bonfires, and maybe hold

(00:22):
off on that outdoor run or mowing the lawn today, which,
of course not conveniently put off until today.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
Oh wow.

Speaker 1 (00:30):
Recent to Hudsonville grad and Davenport football commit Ethan Carter
was shot multiple times while he was training in Alabama.
He's currently recovering in a trauma unit. Doctors say he
may not need surgery. He could be released soon. The
community really rallying behind him and his family, and they
are asking for continued prayers as he heals. Hunters, starting

(00:54):
August first, you are going to have more access to
both public and private land in the Lower Peninsula during
early and late antler list firearm seasons. This is part
of the DNR's plan to manage the herd as hunting
numbers drop statewide. Tag up know the new rules because
the season is coming quick. Yeah, that's three things you

(01:15):
should know. Here is one you probably shouldn't.

Speaker 3 (01:17):
It is National Mac and Cheese Day, which I did
not know that, but I do love a good mac
and cheese. I also learned this weekend while camping that
you could make a delicious brisket. You could put lamb
on that blackstone. You could make shrimp and season it
with some of the finest seasons you've ever put together.

(01:38):
But if you have a bowl of easymac, you could
literally feed six kids. They wouldn't care at all about
your brisket, about your lamb, about your shrimp. I went
and bought Hobo piemakers. Oh I played this all I
had all the because.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
I wanted to.

Speaker 3 (01:56):
I'll get into that later, but anyways, National Mac and
Cheese Day. Mac and Cheese is Delicious. A new survey
done by a by Main Street Bistro in celebration of
mac and cheese found that fifty six percent of Americans
says they would give up coffee or social media before
giving up mac and cheese.

Speaker 2 (02:11):
Disagree. Fifty four eat macaroni.

Speaker 3 (02:14):
And cheese weekly and with mouths preferring it for dinner.
I also realize, even if you make easy mac, there's
a specific way you're supposed to make it that you
have to do it the way the mom does it.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
Otherwise it is not right. Oh, yeah, that's very important.

Speaker 3 (02:27):
Yes, eighty six percent say it's an adult food, not
just for kids. Thirty two percent name it the top
comfort side dish. More than seventy five percent eat it
with a fork and not a spoon.

Speaker 2 (02:39):
Interesting, that one sounds good right now. It does sound good.

Speaker 3 (02:43):
Right now.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
You're up a bowl of mac and cheese. Right now?
Do you eat it with a fork or spoon? That's
I normally eat it with.

Speaker 3 (02:50):
When I was a kid, I would eat it with
a fork because I like to put it on the
little prongs.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
Yeah, I think I gravitate towards a fork, but I
would probably choose a spoon. Today. I don't know, Like
there's I don't know why. Sometimes I just use dispatchelor
right out of the pot. Oh that's the best. That's
the absolute best.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
Sometimes it doesn't even make it to the player the bowl,
But that's for me to know.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
Ninety three Sports.

Speaker 3 (03:14):
Tigers lost their three games series three to zero.

Speaker 2 (03:16):
It was pretty bad.

Speaker 3 (03:17):
Actually, they do have a break this week with the
MLB All Star Week Homer on Derby is today. No
games until this Friday, July eighteenth, they play Texas at
seven forty.

Speaker 1 (03:29):
We've got Mike's weekend update. The big first sleepover ever
for the Aguilar family and they did it camping at
Canadian Lakes. Been waiting on this for a couple of days.
There were more than a few times this weekend where
I was like, I wonder what they're doing right now.
I wonder how that's going
