Speaker 1 (00:00):
The B ninety three Morning Show. I'm Alli mack. Now, Mike,
here are three things you should know today. If you
have ever wanted to own a piece of pure Michigan,
now might be the time. The DNR auctioning off one
hundred and twenty pieces of land next month. We're talking lakefront,
we're talking riverfront, we're talking even forest property all over
(00:20):
the state. It is part of their annual surplus land sale.
Auctions are going to start in August and run through September.
You do have to register in advance to bid. I've
never done like a land auction or a property auction
like this, But I don't even know if some of
these pieces of land have like structures on them or
(00:40):
if these are really just the land.
Speaker 2 (00:43):
Uh yeah, I got maybe a combo of both, maybe
because some of those auctions are like fore closed houses, right, I.
Speaker 1 (00:49):
Don't know, because this says it's a surplus land sale.
Speaker 3 (00:52):
Oh it's probably just land then, right, Like that's.
Speaker 1 (00:54):
What I would think.
Speaker 3 (00:55):
Yeah, yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 1 (00:56):
I've never heard of them doing this before, but it
might be a good time to get a good deal.
Speaker 3 (01:01):
Yeah, discount on some way in.
Speaker 1 (01:03):
Yeah, all right, West Michigan is officially too dry. Parts
of the Lake shore, especially near Holland, now in moderate drought. Ottawa, Kent,
and Alligan Counties are feeling it. Spots along ninety four,
like Kalamazoo and Battle Creek have been a little bit
more lucky with some rain. Farmers are really starting to
get nervous cracks in the soil stressed crops. Not much
(01:23):
rain in the forecast. The heat and the humidity are
not helping either, especially overnight. It is not a full
on disaster yet, but we're kind of on watch here.
We could use some rain, that's for sure. The person
meteor shower is back. It's already underway. You'll be able
to see things kind of over the next month or so.
(01:44):
But this is all going to hit peak viewing time
August twelfth, up to one hundred meteors every hour. Holy cow,
lighting up the night sky like talk about nature's fireworks.
Speaker 3 (01:58):
Yeah, that's kind of wild.
Speaker 1 (01:59):
You don't need to telescope for these. You should just
be able to use your own eyeballs. But you gotta
be away from the city lights and all the light pollution.
One hundred meteors an hour.
Speaker 2 (02:10):
Well, if you buy your new Land somewhere up north.
You don't have to worry about all the lights and
meet you shower perfectly.
Speaker 1 (02:17):
I love it when a plan comes together. That's three
things you should know. Here is one you probably shouldn't.
Speaker 3 (02:24):
Not excite me as much as it does. Uno is
coming to Vegas. I love wait. I can play this one.
Speaker 2 (02:32):
Yeah, this is a fun one. This one feels like
you're gonna uh. It feels like there's lots of opportunity
to lose here. But still, I love Uno like it's
a heated game. At my house with my daughter and
my wife and my son and I we all play it.
We played it this past weekend while we were at
a restaurant. Like we love Uno. There's no you're not
(02:52):
you can't be good at Uno. There is no there's
no talent to Uno. There's no skill to Uno.
Speaker 1 (02:57):
It's just all luck in whatever car Yeah.
Speaker 3 (03:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (03:00):
The card game Uno is partnering with the Palms Casino
Resort in Las Vegas to create the Uno Social Club,
allowing players to enjoy the nostalgia of game night with
a thrill of making or losing real money gambling. If
this works out, Mattel, the toy Company, If this works out. Mattel,
the toy company behind Uno, will roll the game into
casinos and bars across.
Speaker 3 (03:21):
The country later this year.
Speaker 2 (03:23):
What yeah, because like poker is kind of a challenging one,
there's a lot going on there. I can play blackjack
pretty confidently, but Uno, I will walk in.
Speaker 3 (03:33):
I will lose a lot of money playing, you know.
Speaker 1 (03:36):
And that is exactly what they are counting on. Ninety
three Sports.
Speaker 3 (03:41):
Tigers are off for the week.
Speaker 2 (03:43):
Everybody's off for the week because it's MLB All Star Break.
They do play on Friday against Texas, which you can
