Show eight forty News Radio whas every single day. I'm

(01:17):
So this is your second time on the show, which
officially makes you a friend of the show.
Speaker 3 (01:22):
How does that happen?
Speaker 5 (01:22):
I love it. Hey, thanks for having me back.
Speaker 4 (01:26):
It's you know, when we get somebody, it's it's rare
that we get somebody in the business, and it's rare
that we get someone that knows what they're talking about.
So anytime that me and Billy and our other co host,
vigil Lanni get to get on here and talk to somebody.
Speaker 3 (01:39):
That knows ball, right, it's always fun and refreshing.
Speaker 4 (01:43):
Last time we talked, we were kind of leading into
Survivor Series about two weeks ago, or war Games as
it is now. It is still Survivor Series, right, they
haven't changed it to wargames.
Speaker 1 (01:54):
I think it's Survivor Series war Games. It's like that's
like the tagline to it.
Speaker 4 (01:58):
Gotcha, Yeah, we we We discussed our displeasure for having
a war games every single year.
Speaker 3 (02:04):
It seems a little bit devalued. But we can talk
a little bit about that.
Speaker 4 (02:08):
You, of course had the women's war Games match the
men's Wargames match. What did you think about Survivor Series
war games this year? Is there anything that you liked
didn't like coming out of that? And of course So
we'll go ahead and start with the women first, Chuck, Yeah,
and then we can move on to the men's because
it seems like a lot more happened than the men's.
Speaker 3 (02:25):
It seemed it's less unfolded here here in the coming week.
So what did you think about the overall Survivor series?
Speaker 1 (02:34):
The women opened it up, and I've talked to a
few people, and it's a copy and paste in the
sense of the last whatever amount of years they've done
this CI War Games match. You know yet Eo going
off the top with the trash can, and you know,
all the girls in their spots, you know, no boxes,
(02:56):
nothing like that. But it genuinely felt, not just by me,
but by a lot of people that it was kind
of just let's get five people against five people.
Speaker 5 (03:05):
And or whatever the amount is, and.
Speaker 1 (03:09):
They go at it and they it was one of
those it was kind of just like a to Z,
let's let's get something. And that's kind of how I felt,
And that's what I've been hearing from people on the
inside and then people that are wrestling fans that it
kind of just felt like a copy and paste of
the last whatever amount of Fiber series war games and uh,
(03:29):
you know, there was some in between matches.
Speaker 5 (03:31):
We'll get deeper into that.
Speaker 1 (03:34):
I enjoyed the John Cena match to a point, and
then you know, there was some filler matches, and then
we got to the men's which will go deeper. But
I've been getting a lot of you know, vibe and
feedback that it wasn't everyone's favorite paper view of the year.
Speaker 3 (03:51):
Mm hmm. Seems to be like, I'm sorry, pal p
l E.
Speaker 1 (03:56):
Get it right, I'm gonna go down until I die.
I get it.
Speaker 5 (04:05):
But just call paper View man.
Speaker 4 (04:08):
It's their pay per views in our heart right, you
are still technically paying for it.
Speaker 1 (04:14):
Yes, it's still paid, it's not perview, but I'm sure
that was already kind of cast it out when the
network came around, so there were still pl I get it.
Speaker 5 (04:24):
You know, it feels like an ESPN t k O thing,
even though it was there before.
Speaker 1 (04:28):
But I call everyone still call unless you're a corporate hill.
Speaker 3 (04:35):
Well, we have none of that here. We are not
corporate shills.
Speaker 4 (04:38):
Sometimes let's let's let's get into a some of it
because well we can talk about one thing that I
kind of wanted to talk about is we finally saw
a j Lee come back for the Women's War Games.
I've always been a fan of aj Lee. I've never
been like a die hard like it. It was good
to see her come back, probably in all of wrestling,
probably one of the biggest this year of twenty twenty
(05:01):
five was her returning. Even with everyone knowing that she
was going to be set up in that punkin Seating
Punk Becky rivalry, you had to see her come back
and work such a crowded match. Everybody's still kind of
questioning her schedule. What's aj Lee like being back for you?
Is that something that you've always been a fan of.
Do you want to see more of her? Or do
you like kind of having her a spaced out like
(05:21):
she is?
Speaker 1 (05:22):
I would rather have her spaced out because there is
a weird vibe going on with I guess the windows
for the women are smaller than the men, and I
feel like the veterans are like the Four Horse Women,
and now that like Nikki Bella came back and then
(05:44):
aj I feel like they might need to be in
that kind of like Hall of Famer veteran park timer
kind of thing rather than like a full time schedule,
because I already feel like Becky and Charlotte and Alexa
and Bailey are kind of in that veterans kind of
(06:04):
like period. So let the new or the new returners,
Nicky and AJ can kind of be like the part
time or space them out, let them do some big
matches in between some bigger segments, and then let the
other girls do the full time stuff. So that's how
I feel. I don't I personally don't need AJ to
be there every week doing matches like Nicky.
Speaker 5 (06:24):
You know.
Speaker 1 (06:25):
That does feel a little weird that Nikki is. I
think Nikki is a Hall of Famer.
Speaker 3 (06:29):
Yeah, she is. The Bellas are in the w W
Hall of Fame.
Speaker 5 (06:34):
Yeah, so I feel weird that you see her.
Speaker 1 (06:37):
It's probably her decision, but like her, you know, doing
the grind every week as a Hall of Famer, you know, Ray,
it's kind of spacing things out and kind of coming
in for special matches.
Speaker 5 (06:50):
Yeah. Trish is the same way.
Speaker 1 (06:52):
You know, she might do like a two three week
segment and then kind of go away. I feel like
AJ and Nicky should be doing that and then leave
the Becky and Charlotte to kind of grind it out
until they're done. So that's where I'm at with that.
I think what they're doing with her is fine. I
wasn't the same way. I'm not a gigantic aj Lee fan.
(07:12):
I didn't know how young she was, and when I
did the reverse math, I did not know that she
retired at like twenty seven.
Speaker 3 (07:20):
I thought that was relatively young.
Speaker 1 (07:23):
Yeah, when I found out she kind of left, you know,
because of CM punk and all that stuff, she left.
Speaker 5 (07:27):
In like peak.
Speaker 1 (07:29):
Yeah, like she left at her freaking peak and didn't
come back for a while.
Speaker 3 (07:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (07:36):
I feel like about a year maybe even I'd say
somewhere about a year before CM punk left, maybe a
few months before. She was really kind of getting into
the swing of things. She had the back when it
was a Divas Championship. Then she had her own very
own pipe bomb when she laid in on the girls
of a Total Divas one time on r all and
(07:56):
that was like, okay, we have a CM punk but
girl version, and before before we know it, he was gone.
She kind of let the door open. I'm pretty sure
was was Page that she lost her a championship to
Page A finish terrible, very weird, a very weird raw,
because that was that was the raw after WrestleMania thirty
at the Ultimate Warrior Thing, there was still a fallout
(08:18):
from the Undertaker. The Daniel Bryant thing was hot, so
very very memorable, but still very weird. That that was
almost like closing a chapter and opening a new one.
Speaker 1 (08:27):
It was it was the wave of the NXT Golden
Black People coming in, because a lot of people do
talk about that twenty fourteen twenty fifteen being like that
crossover when the NXT people kind of took over SETH
kind of became a big thing.
Speaker 3 (08:41):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (08:41):
But the reason I bring up that.
Speaker 1 (08:42):
I always remember Page having that match with a fine,
you know, big debut, but.
Speaker 5 (08:47):
She does this weird leg hand yeah thing. It was weird.
Speaker 1 (08:51):
I don't even think she kept it as her finisher,
but she did some weird four arm farm sweet and
they was like want too. I was like, so that
was yeah, And I was like, A j Lee was
kind of like the big thing and then you end
it with some sort of forearm like sweet. I wasn't
the thing with that, but you Page ended up being
fine and uh a j Lee left whatever, But that
(09:13):
always stuck out to me. I was like, there's been
some finishes where I just like we could have worked
out a little bit better.
Speaker 4 (09:18):
Come on, Yeah, I'll have to agree with that one.
And we mentioned we mentioned her name as we're going
to go through it.
Speaker 1 (09:25):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (09:25):
Nicki Bella at War Games ended up losing to Stephanie
Vaker back here, I still don't know how to say.
Speaker 3 (09:31):
I say it the white guy way.
Speaker 1 (09:34):
As much as we might hate on Nicky Bella, I'm
the same way when she botched it. There are times
you overthink her last name and you might have it,
and then it comes out. You're like, I just blew
it here. I see val Kir and I might be
com Yeah, probably Ellen. There isn't it like the A
C q U E R.
Speaker 3 (09:55):
Yeah, we probably see Lyra valkyrie? Right? Is that her name?
Speaker 4 (09:59):
And we we can easily put that together because it
almost kind of makes sense.
Speaker 3 (10:05):
But I am a lover of a Stephanie Vakir.
Speaker 4 (10:10):
I think that she is a star in the making,
obviously an international star. Now you got her going up
against Nicki Bella. I do enjoy the Nicky Bella turn
because she's coored.
Speaker 3 (10:21):
You know.
Speaker 4 (10:22):
Obviously they've had this problem with Charlotte too, because they're
they're they're time. People just want to boo you, but
the company is trying to make you a babyface, and
you're just kind of better off in that role. Nicky Bella,
for all intents and purposes, seems like a delightful person.
I know that she's had some uh uh, I know
that there's been some personal off screen stuff, but she
(10:43):
comes off in her podcast with her sister is very uh.
It's very nice. She has her she has her own
way of doing things. We talked about thirst trap. She
just went on there and said yesterday that's our only
way of getting attention. Now, well she's gonna get a
double tap for me anytime she posts.
Speaker 1 (11:00):
I met her at SummerSlam and she she's one of
those people like John I guess. I hate to bring
up the relationship, but it's one of those classic WE professionals,
like they've been in the business forever and they just
get it. They know it's all about image and you know,
promos and this and that, and she was she was perfect,
like she was great. It's one of those what you expect,
(11:20):
and I'm glad she she flipped over because there's been times,
like you said, when Charlotte was getting pushed as a
baby face and like nobody wants this, nobody wants this,
and then the second they flip over to a heel,
it's great. So she she's at a better place as
a heel and play it up be like a barbie,
say she needs to get a boot job or she
(11:41):
is going to get a bit like a boot job
to you know whatever. I think that's the role that
she needs to be in her match. She played up
like as a dirty heel. I think they played into
her strength because she can't go, you know, move or
move with Stephanie. Yeah, and I think they let her
get the offense in at the beginning dirty stuff, you know,
(12:04):
when the rust back was turned this you know, a
kick to the gut whatever, and then they kind of
let Stephanie come back. So I think that match was
perfect for what it was and what it needed to be.
It gave a little bit of rub to the heel nicky,
you know, Stephanie can say she'd bet a Hall of
Fame or cool move on. It was in the middle
(12:25):
of the pay per view, so I think that's perfectly fine.
The finisher that Stephanie's doing. I made a post about it,
that corkscrew moon salt thing she does is perfect.
Speaker 5 (12:38):
Yeah, it's so good.
Speaker 1 (12:40):
It's like a double twist moon salt whatever, and she
lands it perfect every time.
Speaker 5 (12:47):
And I think that's probably like the best finisher in
the biz right now.
Speaker 4 (12:50):
And it's so high impact. Because you don't see a
lot of women, I feel like you can correct me
if I'm wrong. Our listeners can correct me if I'm
wrong that a lot of the women are doing top
rope finishers. If they are, it's probably like a Naya
Jacks who goes on the second rope, where it's more
of the much bigger girls that are sort of using
their weight and their body to kind of neutralize their opponent.
Speaker 3 (13:11):
She does it so gracefully.
Speaker 4 (13:13):
And I don't mean for this to come off as
as bad or anything, but what the women try to
do things just like the men do in terms of
like the flippy floppy stuff comes out as sometimes a
stiff because I think that they're trying too hard. For Stephanie,
it just comes natural. And I'm glad that you said
that because it's it's a good finish. She's over in
all assets, you know, she's got her devil's kisses. Probably
(13:35):
that's turning out to be like must see TV, like
when you go, especially when you're buying a ticket to
go to the show, everybody wants to see that.
Speaker 1 (13:43):
It was a spot of that match, Like that was
like that moment where the commentators kind of you know,
pointed it out and the crowd pop.
Speaker 5 (13:50):
That was like the spot.
Speaker 1 (13:52):
And I feel like you, like you said, it's becoming
the spot of every single match of hers and then
everything else is just like the cherry on top. Great
to sure, you know, and Tran's look, it's it's one
of those she got. I was completely somebody asked me
about and I think it's it's kind of a conversation
people were having is her and Julia that they were
both like the Signmese at the same time. Julia was
(14:15):
big in Japan, Stephanie was big in Mexico and Latin America.
I thought the opposite was gonna happen. Man, I really
thought Julia was going to be in Stephanie Spott right now, and.
Speaker 5 (14:29):
She took off.
Speaker 1 (14:30):
It just works like I think Sephanie's kind of played
into her assets and her skill and idea, like she's
doing more and more and more and more in the ring,
and that's why it's just.
Speaker 5 (14:42):
Completely taken off and uh or Julia man, like.
Speaker 4 (14:46):
Did she have a run in NXT like Stephanie d
I know that they were both there, but did did
they did they put her over as much?
Speaker 1 (14:54):
Or they did it? There was like they both came
in and Julia had the bigger you know buzz. I
think she came in at the end of like a
whatever one of their pay per views, and then it
kind of sizzled and then they kind of just slowly
added Julia to the main roster while they kind of
(15:16):
gave Stepping that big Oh I got to vacate the
belt because I'm moving up and I'm gonna challenge or whoever.
They kind of gave her that big send off, and
then Julia kind of just got you know, pushed in there.
And then yeah, that was not it, but it That's
one of those I was completely wrong on the trajectory
of both of them.
Speaker 4 (15:35):
Let's move on to I guess since we're still kind
of putting a boat on War Games. Since it was
just only this past Saturday, you had the rematch of
John Cena and Dirty Domstereo Dom is also another friend
of the show. Really really cool, really cool dude, An
awesome character. Dare I say probably the most over guy
(15:57):
on the roster, one of the most over guy young
upcoming talent, and I wouldn't even say upcoming, He's he's
already here.
Speaker 3 (16:03):
He's very young. To the the benefit of w WE,
he gets a reaction everywhere he goes, and and me
and Billy will attribute we used to hate Dominic Mysterio,
not just because he he turned on his on his
dad like it was generally like, all right, dude, what
are you doing?
Speaker 5 (16:20):
What is this?
Speaker 4 (16:21):
And then he he he had x poggy, Yeah, right
away away he was like the serious, serious baby face
looked like seventeen and he was just there with Ray
Mysterio and just sort of like a boring character. And
all credit to him. He has he has taken the
ball and freaking ran with it. This judgment day has
(16:42):
fit perfectly. We had the return of Live Morgan, my girl,
Oh my gosh, it was it was awesome. And then
they had that little tease right where she she came
in and yeah, like she was turning on dom and
then she gives the hug. Decina then does the does
the stare kind of reminiscent of what John Cena did
with Kedy Rhodes at uh at the at the pay
(17:03):
per view last year.
Speaker 3 (17:05):
So what what what did you think about that?
Speaker 5 (17:06):
Overall?
Speaker 4 (17:07):
Dominant gets gets the title back. He only seen only
held it for what like two weeks.
Speaker 5 (17:13):
I think he won it at the Boston show, his
hometown show.
Speaker 3 (17:20):
I think, yeah, that's right.
Speaker 1 (17:21):
Yeah, and that one John's matches when he's going for
it had been great. My dude, I'm such a big
picture guy that it did bother me that the final
pay per view, the p l e of John Cena
ended with a nutshot in a dirty finish.
Speaker 5 (17:42):
That was my that was my I texted someone.
Speaker 1 (17:45):
I was like, they should have ended it at SummerSlam,
like ended with him and Cody having that five star
match him losing, and yes, yeah, yeah, I know he
still has one. I meant like pay review. Yeah, his
final one should have been like clean, just clean and
(18:06):
then let you know, live come in afterwards. I know
it's probably to kind of gain some heel heat. I
just didn't care for like the nutshot with the dirty finish.
The title was going to go back to dom that
like that was a fact, So you know, I just
I love the match. I didn't care for the finish.
Speaker 4 (18:24):
Yeah, I got you. And it's it's I think I
don't know man, something in me. It's it's that all
screams like it's John Cena's idea because I feel like
he knows he's he's back to being babyface. I guess
in a way to sort of protect the image he's
gonna lose dirty and he would probably rather.
Speaker 3 (18:44):
Give that spot to one of the most like I said,
the one of the young guys.
Speaker 4 (18:49):
Uh, probably your hottest heel right now, other than probably
like Logan Paul or maybe bron Breaker. So that that
screams and and you touch up on your last show.
How professional John Cena is that something like that comes
off to me? Is that that was John's call to
habit like that and uh and and Dominic just kind
of went along with it. But it's great to see
(19:10):
live back. It's uh, it kind of further less established.
We kind of still do have this this Judgment thing
day going, Judgment day thing going. Whi's kind of been
rocky and weird and unpredictable and dare I say boring
a lot of the times.
Speaker 3 (19:25):
And now that she's Backet spices it up a little bit.
Speaker 5 (19:28):
Yeah, I want to see where it goes.
Speaker 1 (19:29):
But the same thing, it's been kind of like that
in between once uh, Damian left and Real left. It
was kind of just like love triangles for like a year,
and now it's like, Okay, where's it gonna go?
Speaker 5 (19:41):
And you know, we'll see with her being back.
Speaker 4 (19:43):
Yeah, so let's just let's just go ahead and tie
this possibly in. Yeah and no, let's wait for our
raw review to get to it. Well, we'll just go
ahead and tease that it's the baby Faces podcast. I'm
talking here of my guy, Chuck Jackson at Chuck ashous
on Instagram. Go check out some of his work. Amazing photography.
Guy knows the business, he knows what he's doing. Uh,
(20:04):
some of you you now have a profile picture street
because some of the shots that you do have made
it onto some of these women in SuperStar's actual profile pick.
Speaker 3 (20:14):
So that's got to feel Oh yeah.
Speaker 1 (20:15):
That's my that's my big claim. I was like, I
noticed that I had a bunch for a while, and
then with the natty thing coming uh and then all
that stuff being kind of like the main branding behind it,
I was like, dude, like I said, I'm on this
rock lesser Roman range streak right now.
Speaker 3 (20:32):
You hear that. Well, we'll get into the natty stuff too,
because that seems to be that seems to be taking
an interesting turn. Let's switch on over to the War
Games Men's match.
Speaker 1 (20:42):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (20:42):
Thing that I didn't know Chuck is as I was
kind of watching it, uh, sort of in and out,
I noticed that they didn't have the cages there.
Speaker 3 (20:50):
Usually the guys are trapped in the cage.
Speaker 4 (20:52):
What what was it because of the stage design or
did they have any explanation story wise why they did not.
Speaker 5 (20:58):
Have I think they just lost over it.
Speaker 1 (21:00):
I don't think it was stage wise, because they could
have just brought the seats forward because it's always been
kind of tight back there, so I honestly think they
might have been. It was one of those things where
it's like, we've done it a few times, let's skip it.
They should have done that with the whole War Games
right now.
Speaker 5 (21:16):
Yeah, but they did.
Speaker 1 (21:18):
They got rid of the shark tank and they or
the shark cage, and that was whatever it. Then it
became more to rumble esque with you know, three two
and then someone comes out. So I was like, this
is kind of like maybe they were like, this is
the way we're going to freshen up war Games.
Speaker 5 (21:37):
Is with the entrance, but now that one same thing.
It was.
Speaker 1 (21:44):
A to z.
Speaker 5 (21:45):
These guys don't like these guys.
Speaker 1 (21:48):
The drama outside of it kind of interests me more
than the actual match. I think the vision's doing really well.
I was texting someone that I think the vision with
Paul Haman being the leader and having a group of
young guys works so much better as that that what
(22:09):
it is right now. Then with Seth Rollins being that
it's just like Henchman. Now Paul Haman has like a
group of young dogs like the Killers, and I think
that works. With Drew McIntyre being in there. I think
it's chemistry with Logan is really good, and I think
they should get a title run because they're coming across
as like gigantic jerks, super cocky, and they're playing off
(22:32):
each other very well. Probably would help Logan a lot.
And then there's a drama with the baby Faces, which
is fine. You know. Rumors are that we're getting a
number three match with Roman and Cody, which I hope
is not the case. I hope it's not the case.
Speaker 5 (22:54):
I don't need I love both of them. I don't
need three years in a row.
Speaker 1 (22:58):
Like, what is the benefit I know, and this is
talking about the match because of the way it ended,
But what's the benefit of them doing in a third time?
Speaker 5 (23:10):
Like is just like it makes this much money and
nothing tops it.
Speaker 3 (23:16):
How you last he said it, That's exactly what it is.
Speaker 4 (23:20):
I feel like maybe in the creative world, it's the
rubber match, right, they're both at one one, one on
one against each other at WrestleMania. But when I think
about it, I mean, you had all the bally who
and the bells and whistles, the Avengers endgame style of
the WrestleMania forty main event that just came up and
tied everything together. It would be a lot interesting to see,
(23:42):
like because Roman reigns, like we don't know likes he's
I mean, I guess he's babyface, but he still kind
of has some heel like he's seems like he's you know,
moving over again. Cody's always going to be a baby face.
It's one of the things that we talked about this
this episode. But I would be interesting to see because
(24:04):
I think from a wrestling standpoint and just storytelling inside
the ring, Cody Rhoads and Roman Reigns are really really
good at that, and they just have so much chemistry together.
Speaker 3 (24:13):
It would make for an amazing match.
Speaker 4 (24:15):
And I think as much as the whole the bloodline
thing means everything in my heart, I would still also
like like another answer, like what what's Roman Reigns gonna
do like after that? Because if we want to talk
about the long term storytelling, right before WrestleMania thirty nine,
their first one, Cody kind of laid it out. You're
gonna lose everybody, You're gonna be a chief with no tribe,
(24:39):
You're gonna have no bloodline, and everyone's gone. And that
was just kind of the end of that. So like
I in a way where my mark mind is thinking,
I would like to see like so like Cody was right,
and so now I would like to see everything's all
evened out. There's really no bloodline. This is just a
straight one on one match. I think that that would
be interesting, even even just to kind of go down
(25:03):
a rabbit whole. Triple h has even come out and
said that Roman Reigns is bigger than having a championship
right now?
Speaker 3 (25:09):
Would you agree with that? Would you? Would you like
to see Roman reigns have another championship runner, do you
think his couple three parts?
Speaker 1 (25:17):
Going back real quick to what you said, you bringing
up that that number forty was like The Avengers where
it was like overbooked, overbooked, overbooked.
Speaker 5 (25:25):
It was a two night thing. That makes me not
want it to happen again even.
Speaker 3 (25:30):
More everything that happened, because it was.
Speaker 1 (25:34):
Like that, the change of the guard, a new era,
new take here, and then now it's like, okay, we
it was like reverse if it ended that way with
the number three.
Speaker 5 (25:42):
Perfect but a yes, Roman is bigger than the belt now,
but Roman with the belt is great.
Speaker 1 (25:51):
That's how I feel like he doesn't need it. He
can just do legendary matches with Rock and Lesner and
who like whatever, Keny Omega shows up, whoever, and it's
no belt needed and it's like it's the biggest match,
that's a main eventor but him with the belt is special. Yeah,
(26:11):
that there was something special. Even I do like Roman,
but I'm not a fanboy.
Speaker 3 (26:17):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 1 (26:18):
But when the Bloodline and Him were on that like
three year streak, it was musty TV like every single time,
like the way they wrote it him how special he looked.
It was special, And I feel like now we're kind
of getting into this gray area of like, what what
(26:39):
is Cody's story at the moment, what is his agenda?
And is it just confidence? Like it's because Roman and
Siampunk don't really look at like, what's the big hook
at the moment for Cody besides being like a perfect
babyface yea, like the quarterback, like he's doing that perfectly.
Speaker 5 (27:00):
But when it comes to storyline in wrestling, what what
is the big hope for it at the moment.
Speaker 1 (27:06):
Is it just going to be Roman kind of give
him the rub and they're going to kind of, you know,
tease a WrestleMania match and then but it's like we've
done that every you know, Spring for the last three years,
four years, whatever, so but more intriguing and not not
a segue or whatever seeing a punk's potential like Mania
(27:28):
and stuff going forward based on a mystery person.
Speaker 3 (27:31):
Yeah. See, I've always at least and within.
Speaker 4 (27:37):
The last year ever since Roman rings come back after
losing the title and he was battling the blood Line.
He was battling the Bloodline version two at War Games
last year, and I guess this kind of goes back
to the whole shark cage thing. Uh, the personalities that
are stuck in the shark cage. And then you had
him sell and seeing Punk not to go, and then
while they're trying to leave, and then they had the
(27:58):
big stare down. I think that was the most watched
WWE video ever is on YouTube, is when they had
the stare down inside the cage and seem Punk says, no,
I'm going ahead and taking this one.
Speaker 1 (28:09):
That's all I really remember from that that, Yeah, Matt,
was that it was what was happening in that shark
cage between them, you know, them cutting each other off,
and then eventually you know, seem Punk going out of
Roman being stuck in there and he could. I was like, okay,
that was perfect, yes, and yeah, that would have been
helpful this time, but they might have thought it was repetitive.
Speaker 5 (28:31):
But that was kind of like the big you know
hook on that one that I love. I thought that
was so good.
Speaker 4 (28:39):
Yeah, and so I thought, now that we go through it,
and I was a little bit, you know, got your
thoughts on what you what you were going to think
of a Roman and Cody rematch running that back for
a third time. I'd be much interested in also seeing
is CM Punk versus Roman Reigns, because we've never gotten
this version of CM Punk versus this version of Roman Reigns.
And it was all set up by that from last
(29:00):
year's Wargames match, and it also continued on with the
WrestleMania feud. And they've been feuding for a while, and
that let up with the Royal Rumble. They were both
mad at each other, they teamed up for war Games,
and then the Royal Rumble happened, and then WrestleMania happened,
where you know, he took Paul Hayman away from him
(29:21):
from that match, Paul Hayman turned on both of them,
so they have even more heat with each other. So
I would love to see that. With that, it would
make that title. I don't care so far.
Speaker 3 (29:31):
I think the only thing saving that title honestly is
someone like Roman Reigns.
Speaker 4 (29:35):
I love seeing Punk. I don't think he's done anything
with that title to any significance. I even told Billy,
who was a big fan of you remember back.
Speaker 3 (29:44):
In the day used to the World Heavyweight Champion and
you had the WWE Champion.
Speaker 4 (29:48):
It just made things so much bigger. But with the
run that they did with Roman Reigns and him having
the title for so long, it really made us only
care about one belt. So just having this impromptu belt
come out out of nowhere just so somebody else can
hold it other than Roman Reigns was kind of lame.
So I feel like he's the only one to save
that get the title in his hands, and I would
(30:09):
love to see Roman Reigns versus c mpunk if Seampunk
holds that thing till Vegas next year, I would love
to see Roman be the one that could take the
belt off.
Speaker 1 (30:17):
Yet I would love them for those two. Like you said,
I think them doing Seampunk and Roman figure that out,
and it would help Seeampunk with that belt, because you're
right right now, it's just like, Okay, he has a title,
see him punk with the title, take photos and put
it on stuff like put it on posters.
Speaker 5 (30:36):
There's no there's no real and there were.
Speaker 1 (30:38):
That was another thing, just like with Drew, there was
too many bait and switches with not giving them the
title that eventually I kind of like I checked out.
Speaker 5 (30:50):
Like there were so many times that Drew wanted to
get that belt.
Speaker 1 (30:54):
He couldn't, He couldn't and he got screwed and he
got screwed in, and I was like, dude, you can't
get screwed out like eight times. And that's what happened
to that they started doing that with seeing Pomp. It was,
you know, he got screwed out of that that seth
comes out and this and that, and I kind of
got over it. So when he actually did win it
and he wanted on like a Saturday night main event, yeah,
(31:15):
which it's not even on NBC anymore, it's just on
a streaming service.
Speaker 3 (31:20):
Yeah, and I was like, dude, this kind of sucks.
Speaker 4 (31:23):
Yeah, no, I agree. Get the good stuff, dude. This
is a baby Faces podcast on iHeartRadio. Make sure you
hit the like and subscribe button you're viewing. This is
off of YouTube. You can also find us out on
the Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok at baby faces Pod. I'm
here with our guy, Chuck Jackson Chuck Asious at Chuck Asius.
You can check him out on Instagram too. Go check
(31:44):
out all the fun work he's doing over there. Okay,
you said it and my mind chased the squirrel, but
you mentioned mystery opponent. The only reason we're talking mystery
is because of what happened at the end of War
Games this past week, and me and you thought there
was going to be some sort of big return. We
even teased possibly is this a Chris Jericho spot? I
know Chris Jericho isn't moving like that mass footed man.
(32:07):
Uh that again, gay, So you can honestly tell ah, yeah,
that's that's not Christira. That's gotta be someone twenty years younger.
So what are your thoughts on the finish of that match?
And I guess you could duct tail it with who
is the mystery guy?
Speaker 1 (32:21):
So I was completely fine with it, Like if you
were if we're gonna do something fresh, make it a
mystery guy whatever.
Speaker 3 (32:28):
You've had the Heels win in a few years, so
that was good for them.
Speaker 1 (32:31):
Yeah, Heels usually lose, you know, somebody goes off the
top rope onto some trash cans and it's like one,
two three whatever. Like I said, like initially it was
just five guys against five guys and we need to
just get through it. So that guy coming over, all right, boom,
there's a new mystery guy and now it's gonna kind
of get everyone hooked on who is it?
Speaker 5 (32:52):
And that's gonna entertaining. So I initially, dude, when he.
Speaker 1 (32:57):
Came in, I was like, is that Randy because they
look like a bigger guy. Yeah, But then when he
sped off, I was like, that's not Randy. It's definitely
not Chris Jericho. And I was talking to my brother
and they're like, I pray they do not try to
turn this to say that was Criscierigo because this guy
(33:18):
was twenty and then one day Chrisireo comes out because
it was me.
Speaker 5 (33:22):
I was the guy.
Speaker 1 (33:23):
There was like, there's no chance, there's no chance that's Chrisierigo.
But is this a spoiler? Is this a dirt sheet
or spoiler kind of place?
Speaker 3 (33:32):
Should go for it? The dirt sheets will get a
hold of it somehow.
Speaker 5 (33:37):
So I initially thought that it was body wise and
movement wise.
Speaker 1 (33:43):
I was like, Okay, why do they bring Grayson Waller
into this because he looked tall and lean and quick.
And then everybody was like, no, it's awesome theory. This
is the stuff that they said they're working on, Austin theory.
They're gonnaive him a big push. He hasn't been on TV.
I thought Austin theory was a little bit shorter I
went and looked, he's actually taller than Grayson Waller and
(34:06):
it must be the proportions and bas based on internet sluice.
It's awesome theory.
Speaker 3 (34:15):
Oh some sleuthing going around over.
Speaker 5 (34:18):
There, that's awesome theory. That's his kind of re debut.
Speaker 1 (34:22):
He's gonna come in and just say it was me,
sem Punk, I screwed you, and then seam Punks have
to try to give him the rub and get him
over and make him the star that Evince always.
Speaker 3 (34:33):
Thought he was gonna be.
Speaker 4 (34:34):
I love Austin theory, so that theory is pretty awesome
to me. I think that, I mean, the guy has
all lookings and intentions of the star, and he could
go inside the ring like he's no slouch.
Speaker 3 (34:47):
The guy can actually wrestle.
Speaker 4 (34:49):
I did think that his match against John Cena kind
of stood out as I don't know if he was ready,
but you could still see it from the way that
he's presented his entrance.
Speaker 3 (34:59):
I will go ahead and te you're right here, touck
is uh.
Speaker 4 (35:01):
I thought leading up to that, if I would have
had been in charge of writing that whole uh John
Cena Austin theory, it was only like a feud for
a month, but I felt like they could have done
so much more with that. If John Cena is not
going to show up, then have Austin theory kind of
carry that feud. And there's been so many parallels already
(35:22):
before that. That whole feud was a thing of the
the age and the trajectory of where this guy is going.
It's almost similar to John Cena. I would have had
Austin theory come out when he made the whole balt
Spot thing on his head that was I mean, Austin,
You're better than that.
Speaker 2 (35:38):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (35:38):
I would have just had him come out and you know,
and just not verbat him. But you know, John, I've
always heard everyone say that we uh, we see there.
We say a lot of me and you, and there's
a lot of similarities. And then look him up and down.
Speaker 3 (35:52):
I don't see it.
Speaker 4 (35:52):
But you're in year old You're like I. I You're
You're You're not me. I'm the star, I'm the next
big thing. I don't get what everybody he's talking about.
And if John Cena is not going to show up
from there until WrestleMania, do the thing where Austin theory
comes out in all phases of John Cena's career have
him come out wearing the Ruthless Aggression shirt one time
(36:13):
in a squash match, beat somebody up, Oh you like
this John, Then the very next week, dress up in
the Doctor of Thuganomics, do the five knuckle shuffle, squash
another person like that, talk his shit, and then the
very next week come out in the colorful John Cena like,
oh you guys want John Cena.
Speaker 3 (36:29):
I'm better than that. Like that would have caused so
much heat, but they had no build up for that.
Speaker 4 (36:34):
That would have made Austin Theory a star, even if
he didn't necessarily look great in that WrestleMania match.
Speaker 3 (36:39):
He got the win. It was a low blow win,
but and it's great for his resume. But that's just
me going back a few years.
Speaker 1 (36:47):
That was a spot when when Johnson wasn't doing many
builds for his WrestleMania matches, but he would take the loss.
That's when John didn't have a win in like two years.
And I agree that they it's also back when John, dude,
this might just be how like they might have been
backstage where if you want to, you know, get over
(37:09):
and win the crowd, you gotta you know, you got
to earn it, because that's back when John was not
on purpose but burying a lot of these guys on
the mic, because he like a year or two before that,
that's when he buried Roman on the mic one time.
Ye when they had that promo and Roman forgot his
lines and John called him out on it, and I
(37:32):
don't think Roman was able to get back on track.
Speaker 5 (37:35):
Same thing.
Speaker 1 (37:36):
You know, he did the ball spot thing, but then
he called it, called out the piping in sound because
nobody cares about your matches, and that completely tanked off
the theory. But yeah, he could have done it himself
because yeah, like the one, like the three week builds,
like when you started mid March and there's no real
reason why you guys are going against each other sides.
Speaker 5 (37:56):
I don't like you and you don't like me, and
we're going to take it to the ring. And see.
Speaker 1 (38:01):
That's how the Taker one was. I think there was
a solo so co one like that Austin theory. That's
when John was kind of like in that in between
part timer thing. It just did not work, but he
would take the loss. Yeah, it just didn't do anything.
He's like you smoked him for a month, but then
you lose and that that that passed in the tours
never happened. And maybe now like they on paper, Austin
(38:26):
theory has it. They just got to figure it out.
You gotta figure it out because if they can't, there's
a lot of people there where I was like, if
you can't figure this out, then that's on creative because
looks like a million bucks can go great, you know,
drop Kick can go off the top rope. He's you know,
granting the mic. So they got to figure that out
(38:47):
and hopefully, I'm guessing see him punkin him, you know,
do something and it's not just another John Cena you
know awesome theory thing where seeing punk just buries him
for three months.
Speaker 5 (38:58):
Yeah, often just can't get.
Speaker 3 (38:59):
Out of it. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (39:01):
No, I think you're absolutely right, And that kind of
ties in that, that kind of ties in the what
you said about if he's the one the mystery figure,
then that that solidifies the vision as Paul Haymon's group
and that's he he has, He's Lackey's full of stars.
I would love to see that you'd finally be able
to have something. It's not that Austin theory necessarily needs
(39:21):
a talking point, but the backing and the the on
screen endorsement of Paul Hammond does so much too, especially
all the marks out there that just love Paul Hamon.
I'm a decent Paul Hamon guy. He's not God's gift
like everybody thinks he is. But I appreciate you, guy.
Speaker 5 (39:42):
I'm not backing anything he's saying.
Speaker 4 (39:45):
Paul, You're always welcome on the show. If you want
to come, you can come and bury me publicly. Also
wanted to throw this out and I've been seeing this
kind of circulating around a lot of people. As our
friend of the show, Vigiliani talks put up a graphic
of a few other people could be obviously Seth rollins.
Speaker 3 (40:02):
That would be uh. That would be a mistake if
that happened, because why mellow hay Uh?
Speaker 5 (40:10):
I go. I hate that that was even broad up
on TV.
Speaker 1 (40:17):
I hate that because him coming back pissed off a
lot of people because he like he was like he
was playing into the gimmick.
Speaker 5 (40:25):
But there was people that were like, se Seth, are
you actually hurt? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (40:30):
I am okay, And then he came back and it
was a little weird and I'm sure it around that,
it would him lying to people. It they kind of
rup you the wrong way. So them going back to, oh,
yeah I saw Seth in the city. That wasn't him,
Like Seth's not running like that, his knees are shot,
his poking in, his legs are shot.
Speaker 5 (40:53):
So them like going the next day, they're like, oh,
the only person I saw around here was Seth.
Speaker 3 (40:58):
Give me boy.
Speaker 5 (41:01):
Yeah, and then yes, maybe long term booking, it's Seth.
It's Seth. It's Seth.
Speaker 1 (41:07):
It's Seth, and then boom, it's Austin and it's a
big thing, big swerve. But as of right now, I
do not want any part of Seth being a part
of this.
Speaker 3 (41:15):
Yeah, I'm with you.
Speaker 4 (41:17):
I just think that that's another red herring that you
could possibly use, is it's Seth. Don't think it's going
to be that another one your thoughts, possibly, Carmelo, Hayes
probably probably too short for that.
Speaker 5 (41:28):
Yeah, otherwise, yeah, he's another one. He's awesome. Theory, Carmelo.
Speaker 1 (41:36):
I'm like they're doing something with Grayson Waller with The
New Day, like they're doing some comedy act. It's fine,
but he's gotten super shredded. Lately, and I'm wondering where
that could go if you went solo. That might just
be one of those Dude, I heard that Evans from nxt.
Speaker 3 (41:59):
Uh Javon Evans.
Speaker 5 (42:00):
Yes, there I do.
Speaker 1 (42:02):
I heard that. Someone said like, oh, we're going to
take our time with him because his main event run
it's still like ten years away. So imagine getting told that,
like Grace Waller, you know we're going to build it,
but we really think you're really going to pop off
in seven years.
Speaker 3 (42:18):
Yeah, that's rough.
Speaker 1 (42:20):
It's a rough thing, but it does make sense. Look
at all the main eventors. They're all in her late
thirties and forties. You guys are early twenties.
Speaker 4 (42:27):
Well I'm fine with that, Chuck, because like, obviously the
stars are a little bit older now that that has
a drawing power. But now the way that they debut
things ever since Triple H has gotten everyone debuts on top.
You're debuting in a title match and you win, where
else is there to go for you? Like down, you're
(42:47):
supposed to be built up. I want to see I
want to see vignettes like they used to do. I
want to see three or four weeks of vignettes. It
doesn't have to be the the vir Mahan for three months.
He's coming, like, build it up, have squash matches, have
them fight to the top when you first come out
and confront the champion and get a championship match. I mean, sure,
the marks love it, the people in the audience love it,
(43:08):
but like I would, I want to even though I
know who he is, I want to know what this
guy is about, what is he bringing And sometimes you
need to just sacrifice another talent to be squashed with
them until they get up to that. But just having
them come out like on top is that's that's the
main problem with these That's what they do with Javon Evans.
Speaker 1 (43:28):
That's what it's just that's from maybe they're the people
in the back, the creative. They're just saying, hey, we
have NXC, like that's the video, watch NXT and then
I don't, and then they just bring him in. They're
going to be on a main event before you know,
SmackDown a Roll. Oh, they're going to bring him in
in the middle. He's from n XT and yeah, I
was like, and you're right, They're like he's gonna go
(43:50):
against Gunther for this John Cena, you know, going away
tournament where where is it to go? And then sometimes
they do win it. But I agree the video would
have been nice. If we go back to that, that'd
be great.
Speaker 3 (44:04):
I absolutely agree.
Speaker 4 (44:05):
I have one more possible name which I want to
bring up, which I think kind of would make a
lot of sense because we haven't seen this guy in
long time. Last time we have there is a little
bit of disruption between him and his tag team partner.
Speaker 3 (44:19):
But what about the idea of it being montes Ford.
Speaker 1 (44:23):
See, I would completely be down for that because I've
been pushing for Montes forward to having solo freaking.
Speaker 3 (44:33):
Run for years now.
Speaker 5 (44:36):
For years, Like when that rumor.
Speaker 1 (44:38):
Kind of came up that I think it was, Vince
was like, I think, I think this guy can be
like a main eventor it was like the Final Year
vent it was what like two thousand and one or
you know whatever, and I was like, yeah, I can
see it, And then I started focusing on him.
Speaker 5 (44:55):
He got shredded because I think he was told, hey,
there's a potential singles run. He got like great shape
and they never pulled the trigger on it. They grouped
him in with Bobby Lashley after the her Business run
away that didn't do anything. Yeah, and then they just
(45:15):
regardless if he's a mystery man. I would love it
if they that was a swerve and it was him
and give him a singles run or regardless, let him
turn and then just he needs to be out of
a tag team, like yeah, he needs apisolo run.
Speaker 1 (45:29):
I don't know what might be going on nowadays backstage,
but Mantes will be a sick pick.
Speaker 4 (45:36):
It seemed like they were getting ready to have all
all systems go for him. I think it was three
years ago during the elimination chamber. He had a huge
spot in there.
Speaker 5 (45:48):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (45:48):
He looked, he looked really damn good, and I thought
that was gonna be it. Our guy.
Speaker 4 (45:54):
He's not a friend of the show, but me and
Billy Uh. A couple of years ago when the when
the World Rumble was in Saint Louis, we went to
the Royal Rumble and inside hanging out in the lobby,
who was just literally out there with fans was uh
was was Dawkins.
Speaker 2 (46:09):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (46:09):
Dawkins was out there hanging out with people and he
me and me and Billy chimed in talked with him.
Huge Cincinnati guy from right up the road, A huge
Bengals fan. It's Angelo Dawkins correct. Uh, he's uh, by
all accounts, one of the coolest superstars that we ran into.
I feel like he's sort of dragging Montes four down
(46:29):
a little bit. And it's not it's not necessarily him,
it's the fact that they're still in this tag team.
I would like to see a split between those two.
Speaker 3 (46:37):
This is what you gotta do. See what they both
have individually.
Speaker 4 (46:40):
I'm not saying just once he leaves, uh, or once
they split up the group, he has to go, and
it's all Montes.
Speaker 3 (46:45):
See what they both can do.
Speaker 2 (46:47):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (46:47):
And here's a way that I would like to do that.
Every group, every friendship is always split up by a
turn or attack. These guys are just they've been dogged
since day one. They've been homies and and best friends.
Like it wouldn't make any sense for him, any any
of them to attack each other. I guess maybe Montes
can take my advice. You've been holding me down, Angelo,
(47:09):
blah blah blah. But I would just for once just
like to see, like, hey, dog, we talked it over.
Let's you do your thing, We'll do my thing. Five
or see you need help or something getting your ass
kicked in a match. I'll come get you, but let's
do what we originally came to the main roster to
do and go be stars.
Speaker 3 (47:24):
You go do your thing, I'll go do my thing.
Maybe we'll meet each other down the road. But that
stuff doesn't happen anymore. It's just always some sort of
hug get the face up of this guy and.
Speaker 1 (47:33):
It's a lovely yeah, exactly, And yeah, that means I
think you're completely right, Like if they do that way
perfect because you know, Dawkins can go do something like
he can go try to, you know, do some mid
card stuff and then try to, let you know, Montes
go do something bigger like you know, upper mid card,
(47:53):
you know, low man event and.
Speaker 5 (47:54):
See what happens. Because I think they won the title
earlier this year long.
Speaker 3 (48:01):
Yeah, but.
Speaker 5 (48:03):
I completely forgot they did it like it was one
of those.
Speaker 4 (48:08):
Was celebrating in the crowd at one point because they won.
Everyone was happy to see him. I don't even know
who they took the championship off me either.
Speaker 1 (48:14):
That's the whole thing about the tag thing. So I
think if they win it again, cool, you guys are
you know, six time champions five time champions.
Speaker 5 (48:22):
I think the.
Speaker 1 (48:23):
Original idea of splitting them to see how far Montes
could go needs to happen eventually.
Speaker 5 (48:28):
Yeah, it needs to happen.
Speaker 3 (48:30):
I agree.
Speaker 4 (48:30):
I mean, he's tall, he's he's good looking. He uh,
he's very passionate, he's got it. He's he reminds you
somewhat of like a like a more tall leaner like
big e to where like I think that like you
can see this guy has it, like he's passionate.
Speaker 3 (48:47):
He uh.
Speaker 4 (48:48):
I mean for their benefit. Anytime the Street profits always
came out during a live show, they got the crowd hype.
So that's one of the things that you're always gonna need.
Speaker 1 (48:56):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (48:56):
So, Yeah, I would love to see Austin Theory in
and montes Ford for the Mystery Guy would probably be
the two ones that I want to see more than anything.
I kind of want to see Austin Theory I want
to see him be a legit heel, even though I
know he is a really really, really really nice dude.
I've seen I've talked to him a few times in
front of the show. I've seen videos of him just
(49:18):
talking to kids and signing kids pictures, and he is
just like a complete he's he's a role model that
you want to look up to, but on the when
he's actually like a bad screen, bad guy on screen.
I would love to see that tide in a more
adult version, not the childish version that's just with the
selfies and annoying twenty twenty style.
Speaker 3 (49:37):
I didn't necessarily love that.
Speaker 5 (49:38):
So what I love to see this story about him
is Naturville SummerSlam.
Speaker 1 (49:45):
I was leaving for an airport. I was leaving for
a flight and a bunch of wrestlers were they're all
going to Orlando as well, so we're all kind of
on the same flight or going to direction, and he
is going through being I think he was a heel still.
I think this is when he was with Seth and
like Buddy Murphy with whatever fashion.
Speaker 3 (50:05):
That was you talking about the Nashville Summer Slam. Yes, yeah,
he was. I think he's in a feud with Bobby
Lashley at that point.
Speaker 5 (50:12):
Okay, so that could have been it.
Speaker 1 (50:14):
And remember walking through signing autographs, taking photes with kids,
like like what you want to see from like a superstar,
not the whole hey man, give me my privacy. He
if you came up to him. He said, you know,
let's do it. And then it came out that his
freaking like uncle or somebody in his close family just
died like that morning or the other night. And my
(50:36):
brother looked at me and he's like, dude, he is
like putting the fans first. He's not putting it on anybody.
He's not telling everyone about how hard is he. You know,
if a kid wanted. He kept his smile on, and
just so I've always been a fan of him. After
I heard that story and like it sucks and his
heartbreaking for what he was going through, but he didn't
(50:56):
put that on like his fans.
Speaker 5 (50:57):
He wanted the fans. And I was like, get this
guy chance, Like he's good.
Speaker 4 (51:02):
Yeah, yeah, that's that's a breath of fresh air to hear.
That's that's awesome. It's cool that you got, you know,
kind of got the experience at Live. Uh, let's just
go ahead and jump over that kind of wrap things
up with what the war games are gonna get out
of here shortly. I got a couple of tidbits for
moral to talk about. Uh, we'll go ahead and start
with the vision when they when they talked about this,
(51:24):
first of all, I love Logan Paul. I think even
though he's not the center of everything, Logan Paul should
be a champion in the next two years or wwe
completely fumbled the bag with Uh hate him all you want,
but this guy gets wrestling. I'm usually not the biggest
fan chuck of just someone just coming and I can understand,
like the old man points at Cloud, just people just
(51:45):
coming in and taking the spotlight because you're written that
way to come in and get your ship in, just
like Logan Paul is.
Speaker 3 (51:50):
But like he knows how to act. He looks the part.
He's a legit boxer.
Speaker 4 (51:55):
One thing that I kind of wouldn't have. I would
I would find a new finisher for him because I
don't like the punch. The punch is such a transition,
like you're punching each other like during the match, is
his is his final punch is like more pent up,
like why isn't he knocking you out like the first.
Speaker 5 (52:09):
Couple And it's not a good punch, that's the problem.
Speaker 1 (52:12):
Yeah, it's like this sweeping like it looks like it's
like it's like a close hand like slap. He's pulling it.
He's not like driving it through it's not like brash.
Shaw is like clothesline where it's like he's putting it.
He's not like punching you and then falling into you
and then you kind of it's like this sweeping like
(52:33):
across the facing.
Speaker 5 (52:34):
I don't like it one bit. Dude.
Speaker 1 (52:37):
If he just said, hey, I'm gonna do that really
super high frog slash, I know everyone does it, but
I do it higher than everyone. Yeah, I'd rather him
just move on to that one than the punch. The
punch is not it doesn't look good. Yeah, but he's
better than everybody in a w like Stevie Richards.
Speaker 3 (52:54):
Said, yeah, one thousand, So he's better than everyone that.
Speaker 1 (52:59):
But same way I'm he came in his match against
Roman was great in Saudi Arabia.
Speaker 5 (53:04):
He has a great whatever what do you call the
front flip clothes line? What's the uh uh?
Speaker 3 (53:11):
The uh uh shot Larry.
Speaker 5 (53:14):
Yeah, So like when he does that clean awesome.
Speaker 1 (53:18):
He saved saved Ray from that that moon saw that
it was gonna be short. There's stuff like that. His
high flying stuff is next level. It's not just good
for a celebrity, it's good. Yeah, wrest in general, it's
like the best stuff. It's so far, so high love him,
That's what I said. The vision with him, uh, bron
(53:40):
Breaker and Bronson Reed, it's just like a bunch of
young dudes dogs and it works. And then Paul is
kind of the you know, the shysty guy behind it.
You know, you'll sprinkle and Drew sprinkling rock. I liked
this better than it just being like the henchman of sets.
Speaker 5 (53:56):
I saw him on Raw. I was like, this is
a good look.
Speaker 3 (53:58):
Yeah, And so I'm still yet to be sold on
Bronson Reed. I just don't.
Speaker 4 (54:04):
It just doesn't resonate with me just yet. I would
love if brock Lesnar is somehow a part of that
group going forward. It just seems like that is put
together for wargames. Same thing with with Drew. But the
obvious standout star here, I think is Logan.
Speaker 3 (54:18):
Paul and bron Breaker had a great promo.
Speaker 4 (54:22):
It just shows you what promos still mean in the
world of wrestling, and it showed that he's a little
bit in coherent at times, but that's it's just because
he's he's a machine. You know, his character is not
meant to really just try to sit and verbally assault you.
But he got his point across, and it sounded like
a real wrestling promo. What do you think about bron Breaker.
Speaker 5 (54:41):
Oh, I think he's great.
Speaker 1 (54:45):
It's up there with the best spear with him and Goldberg,
and I think he might surpass Goldberg one day. But
the speed I was the same way. I was like, dude,
do not botch this promo. You're so passionate, you're going hard,
you're talking. I was like, do not, boy, because then
it's going to completely kill the character.
Speaker 5 (55:02):
And he got through it.
Speaker 3 (55:03):
He got through.
Speaker 1 (55:04):
He was trying to grab the cameras and talk to
them and it made it really like organic. So I
was like that that was the night where it's like,
to me, it's like he arrived. Now now we can
start pushing up.
Speaker 3 (55:15):
Yeah, it.
Speaker 1 (55:18):
Wasn't like okay, you know icy title USI whatever, you know,
let's kind of wait. That was the night where I
was like this, this looks right. Now we can really
go for that push. But yeah, now it's like, are
we gonna get a triple thread match between him seeing
Pumpkin Mystery guy or you know what? What's now? Because
(55:38):
now I might get crowded because he's probably gonna get
a gigantic push and get a big The crowd was,
you know, barking at him.
Speaker 3 (55:44):
On the way out, and he's a heel, Yeah, he's
he's I mean, well, I love saying it. He's got it.
He's a star.
Speaker 4 (55:51):
But can I go ahead and tell you, Chuck you
might hate me for this think his spear is a
little bit overrated.
Speaker 3 (55:57):
No, I think.
Speaker 4 (55:58):
I think when he's inside the ring, when the spear
is confined inside the ring, it looks amazing. Probably the best.
When he does the stuff where he's jumping from like
ten feet away like it's athletically cool. It doesn't look
like he's running through you. I will, as a Roman fanboy,
I think Roman Rains has got the best spear just
because he he gets up and does like kind of
(56:20):
like a Jordan leg spread. Plus he looks like he
runs through you. So he's got he's got. He's got
some competition. Give me the one where he had at
the World Rumble where I show speed and he completely
broke him in half was probably the best spear I've
ever seen.
Speaker 5 (56:35):
That great Carl ten feet away and guarded himself into him.
Speaker 4 (56:43):
Well, I like that one ever since he's tried to
replicate it. It's just more or less like he's getting
you with the arm. It's impressive to see a man
of that size and speed jump from right there make
contact with you, but it's more or less like a
tackle rather.
Speaker 3 (56:56):
Than like a spear, him driving him driving through.
Speaker 5 (56:59):
Some future episode. We need to have a top ten
list of best spears.
Speaker 3 (57:06):
Let's do that. We haven't had.
Speaker 4 (57:07):
That's what me and Billy like to call the top
guys top five. We're gonna have to pull that out eventually.
Speaker 3 (57:12):
Get to that.
Speaker 5 (57:13):
I can have in mind, you have yours, and I
guarantee we will not agree on it.
Speaker 2 (57:17):
We will.
Speaker 4 (57:18):
We're gonna have a different one in number one. I
think a lot of us are are gonna we'll probably
have the same.
Speaker 3 (57:23):
Saying there too.
Speaker 4 (57:26):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (57:27):
Maybe he might be exactly honorable mention. I'm not necessarily sure.
Speaker 4 (57:33):
I thought that his was simple, simple enough looking for
a spear, but I feel like so many other guys
came and revolutionized it.
Speaker 2 (57:40):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (57:41):
I guess one of the other things is a very
very woman centric raw. It was kind of showed how
packed the the women's tag team division was, which about
this time of year or two years ago, was completely
non existent. Uh, but one of the one of the
main things I want to get on. So Soka probably
had his best match that he's ever had with gun Third.
(58:01):
I love some gun Through. There's a lot of people
out there that hate the fact that he's going to
be the one that retires. John Cena wouldn't be my
initial pick, but as it's happening, I don't hate it.
Speaker 3 (58:12):
I like Gunther. What are your thoughts on that match
coming up next? Is it next Saturday?
Speaker 5 (58:16):
Next Saturday?
Speaker 1 (58:17):
If if he wins on Friday, so that n so
I see the benefits in both of that. They kind
of group them together because La Knight won his there
they would be giving La Knight that final rub. I
know he's like forty one, but maybe it's just like, hey,
(58:38):
we can really put a rocket ship on you for
like two three years, Night, So that's with that, and
then gun Theer is like thirty eight thirty nine, so
the same thing, it's like.
Speaker 5 (58:48):
Hey, we're gonna give you that rub for like five years,
like let's let's do it.
Speaker 1 (58:53):
But with Gunther being as great as he is, that
being in his resume that I retired Johnson and Goldberg
in the same year that is like, you know, legendary
stuff like, so I understand that instead of hey, we're gonna,
you know, pick a twenty year old guy to do it,
I understand that was the initial idea, but I also
(59:14):
see them doing, Hey, we're gonna put a rocket ship
on an older guy and just see if somebody just
goes crazy for a few years because Johnson is coming
back anyway.
Speaker 3 (59:22):
So yeah, I agree, good catch on that.
Speaker 4 (59:25):
Just because I completely forgot about the uh, completely forgot
about the Friday thing. I just feel like La Knight's
gotten so lost in the shuffle that it almost seems
like predetermined he's not gonna win. But I still love
I still love the thought of La and Night coming
in and doing it too, because he needs it. La
Knight doesn't need a title in my opinion, I don't
feel like he's bigger than a title, but just uh,
(59:47):
I mean, just the fact that he could just yap
his mouth alone is.
Speaker 3 (59:50):
Just really all I need.
Speaker 1 (59:51):
So I would definitely look like Austin like Boston rock
kind of thing where it was just like Dynamite for
like a few years. But everyone talks about this like
it's this legendary run that lasted twenty. No, it was
like the attitude area was what four years, three years?
So give these guys like a greatly a little you know,
time period to do something crazy. Like I said, John's
(01:00:14):
coming back, So I don't think they're going that crazy
with how serious his final opponent is. Yeah, because I'm
a real final opponent.
Speaker 3 (01:00:24):
Yeah, I agree. I think I think the real final opponent.
Speaker 4 (01:00:28):
I think if anything, he's gonna probably put over one
of the younger guys like uh like Gunther, like like
l A Night, even though they're not that much younger.
But I do think his final match may include and
I've I've always tried to put this in, but obviously
that match is going to end the pay per view
on on Saturday or the Saturday night's main event, whatever
(01:00:50):
it is next week. This is where I think we
finally see the return of the Rock. And he says,
you're not going anywhere I run things. I'm the final boss.
You're not going and your last match is until I
say so. You you said you aligned with me, You
threw that out the window.
Speaker 3 (01:01:07):
I control you. Now. That's that's my last hope of
something interesting.
Speaker 5 (01:01:12):
Yes, you're you're right, that's.
Speaker 1 (01:01:14):
The last hope, because that would completely This is the
first time I've ever heard that that that idea, that
would completely wipe away all the crap that has happened
in the last year and a half, which sure, and
it would wipe away the he'll seem a thing if
that happened, If he came out and says, Nope, you're
not done, people that paid extra money to do this
(01:01:35):
final Johnson to run wouldn't mind. I think that is
the only way that John can get his real final
Russelemania match, his real opponent, and everybody would be on board.
Nobody would be like, oh man, if the Rock com
then everybody's like, I'll pay again, Let's do it again.
Speaker 5 (01:01:53):
I'll get another meeting gree I think that would be
genius if that's what they did.
Speaker 4 (01:01:58):
Yeah, I would love to see that. And remember the
Rock has your soul. I came after Cody soul.
Speaker 3 (01:02:03):
You took it. You're a year ago.
Speaker 1 (01:02:08):
They're both doing mainstream media. That would be the biggest
match ever, like building.
Speaker 3 (01:02:13):
Up another year like how you did with the first one.
Speaker 4 (01:02:15):
Though once in a light, it could be at the
Saudi Arabia uh in Brustlemania next year and that's how
you build it up because the Saudis wanted how the
Saudi still want Yokozuna and Ultimate Ok.
Speaker 1 (01:02:26):
They're like, hey guys, we get ten x this. But yeah,
I think that would be the greatest thing if they,
like you said, if they just made it a whole year,
if they made it three months regardless, I think that
would be a genius way to completely.
Speaker 5 (01:02:39):
Fix all this.
Speaker 4 (01:02:40):
Would love to see it. Like, my creative juices are flowing, Chuck,
this is what happens now. We're indoor a podcast. It's

very easy to find. You can also find our guy
Vigilante Talks on Facebook, Instagram and uh TikTok Go check

words before we get back into it, because I'm going
to have you on the show next week. We're gonna
do a little preview if we'll well we'll discuss it
if we want to do a preview or just wait
until afterwards and do kind of like a wrap up
(01:03:23):
show like we did now. But you have any any
thoughts going into next week?
Speaker 1 (01:03:27):
Oh dude, it's I think everything's wrapped around the Sina thing.
The thing is going to take over that week, So
if it's gone through Sina, if it's La Night Sina,
because I don't even know there's any other matches that
have been planned yet either John Floyd the idea of
how oh he mentioned that he wanted n XT uh
(01:03:51):
like a spotlight on NXC. I don't know if they're
doing that Ironman match or or not, the iron Man match,
the whatever. I don't know if that's there or whatever.
But note I think after it's it's really what we're
gonna talk about is what happens with whoever is going
as John Cena, because that's gonna be the build up
the whole week.
Speaker 4 (01:04:11):
Yeah, sure, mystery man John Cena. And uh, if something
happens and WW is not listening and doesn't take my
advice with the whole rock thing, because me and you
are pretty sure that something doesn't feel right about this
being John Cena's ultimate last match, there's always a swerve
bro Uh So if that, then if it's not that,
(01:04:32):
it's been a wonderful career for John Cena. He just
finished off his last RAW match, Uh just just a
couple of weeks ago, is last time at Madison Square Garden.
I firmly believe the only time he'll step back in
another ring would be for WrestleMania.
Speaker 3 (01:04:45):
So amazing career.
Speaker 4 (01:04:46):
I used to have the John Cena sweat bands and
and the and the and the gold chair or and
the and and the lockchain. Uh it's it's there's gonna
be a lot of ballely who's surrounding it. It's gonna
make me, uh make me feel a little bit, you know,
reminiscent of back in the days, but very much looking
forward to the ending of that show.
Speaker 5 (01:05:05):
Yeah, it's I'm the same way when it's when he's
coming out, I'm like, this is the last Raw. I
felt it. I was like, this is this is something special?
And yeah, same way if he's coming back, he's not
going to come back to do you know, you.
Speaker 1 (01:05:17):
Know, weekly robs and weekly smack down And I'm okay
with him saying, you know what, WrestleMania.
Speaker 5 (01:05:25):
You and me, let's make it happen. Then it's like cool,
that's the wrap.
Speaker 1 (01:05:29):
I think every every John Cena fan, regardless, if you
spent money to do these things and got your hopes
up that you're at the last one, everybody will forgive it.
If you're booking of the Rock and seeing that at
many it happens.
Speaker 3 (01:05:43):
Thank you, Thank you.
Speaker 4 (01:05:44):
Well, we're certainly looking forward to it should be some
exciting things on the way as we turn the corner
into twenty twenty six. I'm turning the corner into married
life in a couple of weeks, so that's thank you
so much. So it's gonna be fun times in the
next couple of months, and obviously the build up for
Roural Rumble, which starts a road to WrestleMania, so it
should be fun times back in wrestling again.
Speaker 3 (01:06:06):
Chuck, thank you so much for joining us. We'll have
you on again, dude, can't wait, can't wait.
Speaker 5 (01:06:10):
Thanks for having me
