Speaker 1 (00:00):
It is a final from American Family Field, and the
results are good as the Brewers take Game one of
the NLDS over the Chicago Cubs nine to three to
the final and welcome in everybody. It's a postgame show,
postseason edition here with Pottawatami sportsbook bet Above the rest.

(00:22):
There's the Polish pipe Bomb, Jeff Roulawski, Tim Allen, and
a sweet victory to take game one of this five
game series over the Chicago Cubs. Couldn't have been better.
There's hardly a blemish in this game. Maybe the only
thing would be Jackson Curio. More on that a little
bit later. We're gonna hear from Pat Murphy, maybe even

(00:42):
a couple of comments from our old buddy Craig. Council
and pipe Bomb. After the initial home run, what were
you thinking then?

Speaker 2 (00:50):
Oh man, I was puckered up pretty good there, Timmy.
But then by the start of the third inning, I
was like, Tim was scared of this team?

Speaker 1 (00:59):
Come on, well, nervous and I'm not. Brewers clearly are
a better baseball team in the Chicago Cubs. Now, I've
been hearing that a lot. I've been hearing the other
side a lot too. The Cubs are a better team.
You know that to him, right, Cubs are a better team.
Cubs are a better team.

Speaker 3 (01:15):
They're not.

Speaker 1 (01:16):
Okay, they're not. I don't know what to tell you, guys.
The better team doesn't always win a series, right, we
know that it's baseball. But the Brewers are a better
baseball team, and the better team won today. Okay, go
ahead and hit your home runs. You get three solo shots.

Speaker 2 (01:36):
Yay.

Speaker 1 (01:37):
You hit a home run? Yay. Isn't that fun? How
about banging out thirteen hits a bunch of walks? How
about eight, nine, ten, and eleven pitch at bats?

Speaker 4 (01:48):
Take that?

Speaker 3 (01:50):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (01:50):
I loved Craig counsel a bunch of frustration there in
that first inning. We'll get to that in a second.
And also on the phone calls here, we're gonna open
up the phone lines in just a couple of minutes here.
I want to give everybody a fair shot to get
in here. I know a lot of times we have
pipe bomb. You know more than anybody else that there

(02:11):
are some of our callers, Brewer fan callers. They would
call in, like in the eighth inning, Hey, can I
get on hold? Just wait it out?

Speaker 5 (02:21):
Yep, it happens all the time.

Speaker 2 (02:22):
So yeah, this will give everybody a chance to pour
out of amfam and into their ubers or their buses,
going back to their favorite watering holes and get a
chance to get their feet on the ground and call
us up.

Speaker 1 (02:35):
It's yeah, and it's a nervous energy. It's a nervous
I think some people put it anxiety. I don't know
if I'd go that far, maybe leaning toward just you're
just it's a good fun sports nervous well. And again
I would prefer that this series didn't happen. I'll stay

(02:57):
consistent with that. But this, this is why you play
for six months to get into these spots. Now. The
bonus here again, I think everyone's aware of it. The
bonus here by playing the Cubs means that you don't
go through the Dodgers and the Phillies to get to
the World Series. Yep, so there, and pie Boum you

(03:19):
pointed that out some weeks ago that you know, if
it sits right there, let one of those guys are
gonna bounce each other other out, one of them is
gonna get bounced. You just have to go through one
of them and you go from there. So that that
would be the positive in playing the Cubs. Now the negative.
I think we all know if you're like me, if

(03:42):
you are, and that's a big if you are going
to be bounced out of the postseason. Man, just any
other team, but that one, well, that's where I got nervous.

Speaker 2 (03:52):
Yeah, exactly. But this is why we love sports, especially
a series like this. It's either going to be the
highest of highs when the Brewers dominate and win this series,
or it's basically going to be the lowest to low's.
We all obviously are rooting for the highest to highs,
you know, but that's that's what you play for. And

(04:14):
like you said, you know, with the series being lined
up this way, it's easier travel to the dump ninety
miles south than it is halfway across the country. And
you know, this just seems like it plays out really well.
And you know you've been begging for the council cam
for the last month, going down to stretch here you get, oh,

(04:35):
they showed it.

Speaker 5 (04:36):
You know, if did they set the over under at.

Speaker 2 (04:37):
A thousand on times they'd show that idiot on the TV.

Speaker 5 (04:42):
It was over by a bunch.

Speaker 1 (04:44):
It was amazing seeing the frustration on that, dude. And again,
I'm not going to celebrate anybody's pain and discomfort. I
will well yeah, well maybe maybe maybe we will. Okay,
that's one in the books. Now, Brewers on a quest here.
Deep run World Series appearance means there's a lot of

(05:05):
work to do, and the Brewers got it done today.
Nicola Law dot com talking text line will open those
in just a second. Here, let's hear some of these highlights.
Is forty two thousand, six hundred and seventy eight empty
out of American Family Field after a nine to three
Brewers victory. You're listening to the postgame show with Pottawatomy
sportsbook bet above the rest first inning, Brewers played from behind.

(05:29):
It was Bush a solo home run, and then it
was well, let's let's just end it there. And here's
what I was thinking. Also at that time, I was
a little bit moved emotional. Could you The only worst
thing that would have been would have would have been
on the first pitch of the game. I mean, I'm

(05:51):
trying to find something here. The bonus here. Yeah, okay,
so he gives up the run, but the bonus here
A twelve pitch inning pipearm I thought that was significant though,
despite the homer.

Speaker 2 (06:06):
Yeah, I absolutely agree, because you know, if we would
have had a show yesterday and we would have said
what we were hoping to see in this game today,
we both would have said, freddie under eighteen pitches in
the first inning or under fifteen whatever. He checked all that,
even though he did give up.

Speaker 1 (06:25):
A run, gave up the run of the Brewers right away,
playing from behind into the bottom of the first inning.
They answer back, how about this leadoff double bike Jackson,
Cheerio and the game. Hey, we need to get this
game tied. No better way than to go back to
back doubles.

Speaker 6 (06:46):
And rang Smuck's one to write, that's down front Pason,
let us.

Speaker 7 (06:50):
Off the wall.

Speaker 6 (06:51):
Chario will store and the Brewers immediately answered.

Speaker 1 (06:55):
Tugging, oh man, how about that from TBS. You guys
had American Family Field.

Speaker 2 (07:02):
My goodness, loud and proud, made the entire state proud, man.

Speaker 1 (07:12):
Oh man, it was impressive. So the game is tied
one apiece, Bryce terrang irbi double. How about back to
back to back doubles?

Speaker 6 (07:24):
William Contreras talks on talks the camp that is down
to a pace hit past the timing even happen. Terang
will store free straight doubles for the poors.

Speaker 4 (07:36):
To begin, and I had the lead.

Speaker 1 (07:40):
Oh my goodness, won once again. As I was just
like you guys, Loud, I think we all were what
a way to answer back in just to meet first
three hitters, get the lead back? Nobody out had to
be so demoralizing for the Chicago Cubs. It did.

Speaker 2 (08:04):
And I was sitting here talking with Billy and you know, okay,
so the Cubs get the home the leadoff homer, and
You're like, okay, this sucks.

Speaker 5 (08:15):
And then it was double.

Speaker 2 (08:16):
It was double, and Billy's like, hey, I would prefer
the back to back doubles then just at solo homer
because you're still in business, You're still putting pressure on.
And then the fact that they were able to do
the three doubles in a row, icing on the cake.
It was just a beautiful CounterPunch to the little jab

(08:37):
that the Scrubs landed in the top of the first.

Speaker 1 (08:39):
Gosh, that is postseason baseball right there at its finest
in that crowd.

Speaker 3 (08:44):
Wow, So.

Speaker 1 (08:48):
Ground ball at this point, you know, Craig Council's starting
to show a little frustration a ground ball, so they
getting out. Freelick had a ball off his bat that
went to Horner, so you get an air thrown in there.

(09:11):
Freelick got it on the board three to one. We
won't play that one, Jeff on the air there, but
we'll take that. Caleb Durban, however, would come to the plate,
he would strike out. It brought up Blake Perkins, and
I thought this was a key at bat of the game. Folks,
if you're looking at a tipping point in this ball game. Yes,

(09:31):
back to back to back doubles. Okay, I get that,
But I will say this when Perkins went to work
an eleven pitch at bat and he caps it with
an RBI base hit.

Speaker 3 (09:45):
Again, the runners go and Perkins wins the battle.

Speaker 6 (09:49):
Corn around third, he will score Tull one Milucke.

Speaker 1 (09:55):
Yeah, they take a four to one lead. Runners at
the corners for Joey or t and that was it
for Boyd. However, at that time, Bye bye Boyd. You
still want to go on short day's rest. See, this
is the thing those of you, you know that we're
looking at, well, you got to dig through that wild
card series. Now, the Brewers were in this situation last

(10:18):
last year as you know, you're using your guys. You're
using your guys to try and get out of that
best of three, right, well, then you will. You got
to go ahead and start Matthew Boyd on short day's rest,
and this is what happens. He goes two thirds of
an inning. Oh, I love it. Oh, if you're a

(10:39):
Cub fan and you're hearing us right now, you might
dislike me very much.

Speaker 5 (10:43):
Yeah, who cares? But oh yeah, you absolutely love it.

Speaker 2 (10:47):
Boyd didn't have it, and you know it's bad when
you get pulled before you face joe Yo.

Speaker 1 (10:53):
Yeah, well that's true too, And you walk Joey Ortiz
on four pitches and it loaded the basis for Jackson.
He comes through a huge, two out, two strike, two
run base hit.

Speaker 3 (11:06):
I didn't seem one hundred percent when coming back, but Suri.

Speaker 6 (11:09):
Eleases this one in the left field and the hit
parade continues.

Speaker 3 (11:14):
Two more come home six to one Milwaukee.

Speaker 1 (11:18):
Yeah, Woodpeckers six in the Cubs one after that one
from Jackson. Cheerio. Bryce rang would strike out to end
the inning, but the Brewers put up six runs on
five hits, two walks, an air off two different Chicago
cub pitchers. Eleven men to the plate and a six
to one lead into the second inning. Oh baby, give

(11:41):
me that shutdown inning. He did it. He did it
in the top of the second inning. Into the bottom
of the second one of the brewers and the well
the woodpeckers back to work. Contes the leadoff base hit. Yell,
it's with a base hit. How about a base hit
from vond to load him up with no body out,

(12:01):
sal Freelick. By the way, you might want to use
a little more pine tar. Did you see that pipeline?

Speaker 5 (12:07):
Yeah, he kind of lost a handle on that one.

Speaker 1 (12:10):
I think he was aiming for murph.

Speaker 8 (12:14):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (12:14):
He would have a shallow flyout outs for the first out. However,
what do you call Caleb Durban?

Speaker 5 (12:22):
Mighty mouse?

Speaker 1 (12:23):
Little mighty mouse? He comes through check this out.

Speaker 6 (12:27):
Soroca up to twenty eight pitches off the hands, little
flare horn two nor well score. Caleb Turban drives in.

Speaker 1 (12:39):
A pair o unbelievable eight to one at that point.
Now Counsel is pacing throwing sunflower seeds and sort of
missed his mouth. He's bouncing him off his face.

Speaker 9 (12:53):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (12:54):
Perkins would ground out to move the runners over and
then a walk that loaded him up. Another walk door
tise and that loaded him up for Jackson Curio. And
this was probably the only blemish of this this game.
Here Savally entered the game by the way an infield

(13:14):
RBI base.

Speaker 6 (13:15):
Hit check it out to two from Savali and Surio
Brown's one to third diving stuff by Shaw his turn night.

Speaker 3 (13:23):
In time, another run comes home.

Speaker 1 (13:26):
But that was when Jackson Curio had to leave the game.
It was nine to one at that point, had an
infield single, but three for three a double, two singles,
three knocked in a run scored in the first two
innings for Jackson Curio. I mean, most people would take
that in two games. But we're gonna get some word

(13:48):
on the hamstring tightness they're calling it. We'll see what
they have to say in just a little while.

Speaker 3 (13:55):
But it was.

Speaker 1 (13:57):
Nine to one at that point. They added another run
off Freddy in that sixth inning. Freddie almost through six,
but again this was set up by pitching five and
two thirds of the two run ball for Freddy Peralta.
The bullpen takes it from their Knig allowed a solo shot,
but asby Mears or asby Kanig and Mears close this

(14:18):
thing out in nine three victory. Let's open up the
phone lines. Get to you guys as the Brewers take
Game one championship season nl ds uh. You're listening to
the postgame show with Potawatami Sportsbook bet. Above the rest,
there's Jeff Rolowski, the Polish pipe Bomb, Tim Allen and
this victory is a big one. They're all big, but

(14:41):
in a best of five, they're just a little bit
more elevated. Not much room to breathe. Here also Murphy
on the way. We'll hear from the players, and we're
gonna hear from you on the nicolay Law dot Com
talk and text line at eight seven seven seven nine
four one ninety seven to three. That's eight seve seven
nine to four, one ninety seven to three. Just wondering

(15:07):
where your mind is. Is it jubilation or still work
to do? I'm kind of in a celebratory.

Speaker 10 (15:16):
Mood.

Speaker 1 (15:17):
You gotta enjoy this. I know you want to look
ahead a little bit, but you'll pinch yourself and enjoy it.
But we'll be back postgame show with Potawanamy Sportsbook here
on ninety seven to three. The game and the iHeartRadio
app welcome back. We are celebrating a Brewer's Game one
NLDS victory over the Chicago Cubs nine to three, the

(15:39):
final postgame show with Pottawantomy sportsbook bet above the rest,
Tim Allen, jeff Orlowski, they call him the Polish pipe Bomb,
and a Brewer's victory over the Chicago Cubs. We're gonna
get to Craig Council here in just a couple of
minutes because I hear it's really really good.

Speaker 5 (15:56):
That's what.

Speaker 1 (15:56):
I don't know what too.

Speaker 5 (15:57):
I'm excited.

Speaker 1 (15:58):
Yeah, me too. I have not heard this. But we're
gonna play a little bit just to sit back and
just oh some audio gold.

Speaker 2 (16:07):
Well we got we gotta give our predictions beforehand on
if it's Huffer Puffer, if it's Lipsmack and Greg, which
Greg are we gonna get?

Speaker 1 (16:16):
I'm gonna guess it's gonna be the deep breath. Well,
I mean, oh, yeah, that's a good well, I mean well,
I mean yeah, Okay, that's that's what it's gonna be.
All Right, let's get to you guys. Nikolay La dot
com talking text line as the Brewers get the victory here,
uh nine three The final and let's go to Ken

(16:39):
and Mia. Yeah, they've been with us pretty much the
whole year. What's going on? Guys?

Speaker 9 (16:45):
Hey, guys, we're driving back from the game.

Speaker 11 (16:48):
And we got my oh and sixth mom.

Speaker 1 (16:52):
Yay, ma oh, there you go. That's right.

Speaker 9 (16:57):
We're gonna have to find a way to sneaker in
the game two because I don't have I only got
two tickets from me and I, so we'll finally to
get her in maybe but start a new winning streak.

Speaker 11 (17:08):
But what I wanted to say is just how out
I am.

Speaker 9 (17:11):
A Brewers fans for not selling out because we did
not let them take over that park.

Speaker 3 (17:16):
One.

Speaker 1 (17:17):
Okay, so what was the ratio? What was the what
was the ratio in there?

Speaker 9 (17:21):
If you had to say, I would say ninety ten Brewers,
I would say ninety ten would be my guest, sweet
eighty twenty would be at the low end.

Speaker 8 (17:30):
Yeah, it was.

Speaker 9 (17:31):
It was a great atmosphere and the Cubs fans were
awfully quiet the whole game.

Speaker 1 (17:35):
Yes, that's a that's a good way to listen to
cub fans when they're quiet.

Speaker 11 (17:42):
Oh.

Speaker 9 (17:43):
I couldn't agree more.

Speaker 1 (17:46):
All right, guys, listen, enjoy this and I congrats for
your mother too.

Speaker 9 (17:53):
Yeah, thank you, go Brewers.

Speaker 1 (17:55):
All right, you got it. Let's let's get to Manly here,
Manly your next here on the postgame show.

Speaker 12 (18:04):
Woo whata gave you guys? What a statement to come
out of the gate. Put that SmackDown on Greg and
his group of cubby bears.

Speaker 1 (18:12):
That was just beautiful and stole.

Speaker 12 (18:14):
My thunder a little bit because I wanted to just
say congrats to you Brewers fans because we kept those
boys out of our stadium.

Speaker 13 (18:22):
I'm with the ten percent nine ten.

Speaker 11 (18:24):
It was amazing.

Speaker 12 (18:26):
But don't beat up on Freddy too bad man. He
kissed the hell of a game. He had the one
little ding, you know, right out of the gate.

Speaker 14 (18:33):
I never was worried.

Speaker 15 (18:35):
I knew we were coming back, and we were coming back.

Speaker 16 (18:37):
Just super pumped you guys.

Speaker 13 (18:39):
I can't believe it. I hope you guys are pumped too.

Speaker 1 (18:41):
Oh my goodness, we are. Thank you, Thank you Manly. Yeah.
Ninety ten was the ratio pipe bomb. I had a
report from a couple of different people just prior to
the first pitch that I talked to both of them them.
I wanted to get two different people, give it me
a ratio. Both of them said exactly that ninety ten.

Speaker 2 (19:04):
Well, yeah, and obviously what helps is that, you know,
the tickets were on sale a long time before Greg
and his jolly bunch of losers advanced to come here
to get destroyed and have their hearts ripped out.

Speaker 5 (19:18):
So that is obviously going to help.

Speaker 2 (19:20):
And it definitely didn't seem like too many Brewer fans
sold their tickets on a secondary market.

Speaker 5 (19:25):
So we salute each and every.

Speaker 1 (19:27):
One of you. Absolutely, you guys were amazing. And I
think we talked about this a month ago or so saying,
you know, I don't know where you're at economically. Everybody's
a little bit different. Everybody is relative to their own situation,
and you know, if you're looking at you know, let's
just say, for the sake of the argument, you know,

(19:48):
one hundred dollars ticket to get into a Brewer's playoff
game and somebody walks up to you and nudges you
and says, hey, can I give you six hundred bucks
for it? Can I give you five hundred bucks for it?
I get it. But all we asked at that time
leading up to this series was do the best you
can to hang on to your tickets or sell them

(20:10):
to another Brewers fan if you can't go, or you
want to make a little bit of money, at least
at least you know, qualify them as a as a
Brewer fan beforehand. So again, nikolay Law dot com talk
and text line eight seven seven seven three, as we'll
get one more in here before we listen to a

(20:31):
little Craig council. Who should we get in here?

Speaker 5 (20:34):
Let's well, okay, we'll bring in Sam in one second.

Speaker 2 (20:36):
But just because I know that everybody you know, obviously,
this is one heck of a celebration following this blowout today,
quotes from Jackson Curio via his translator, He says about
the injury physically, I feel good. Frustrated with the moment.
The move to leave the game was more precautionary.

Speaker 1 (20:59):
Oh good.

Speaker 17 (21:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (21:01):
In regards to this injury versus the previous ones, quote,
I'm in a much better position unquote Hopefully that means
some good news.

Speaker 1 (21:11):
There, Yeah, hopefully. And I don't think there's any verdict
on that quite yet. No, I'll have to wait and see.
It's it's certainly fluid, but it sounds a little bit
better than I thought it doesn't sound great, but it
sounds a little bit better than I thought it would.

Speaker 18 (21:26):
Well.

Speaker 2 (21:27):
Yeah, and that's the thing. You know, you get any
player and you know it's these guys. Yes, they're playing baseball.
All these athletes are built like football players. You could
sit there and your leg can be pointed straight at
the sky while you're standing straight up and.

Speaker 5 (21:42):
Oh yeah, man, I'm fine, put me back in the game.
I want to go in. I'm fine.

Speaker 2 (21:46):
You know, everything's okay. These guys are going to, you know,
say and do whatever they can to be on the field.
This is what they played for. This is all the
sacrifice over the six or seven months ever since, you know,
even before spring train. So you got to take his
quotes kind of with the grain of salt, but a
hell of a lot better this than him crying at

(22:06):
his locker, you know, basically knowing that it was the end.

Speaker 5 (22:10):
So this is at least some positive news.

Speaker 1 (22:13):
Smiles mile wide. Look at the journey we've been on,
Brewers fans, look at this all the way back pipe.
I mentioned that spring training there you open up in
New York. Does it not feel like this year is
going to bookend with the Yankee Brewer World Series. I
don't know, just saying, but think about the journey that
a season is, all the way back to New York,

(22:38):
as I said, and now you're through game one of
the NLDS with a victory. Yeah, just wow, that's just
the gravity of that just grabs me. Yeah. All right, Sam,
let's get Sam in here. Nikolay law dot com talking
text line eight seven seven, seven, nine to four, one
ninety seven to three. What's going on? Sammy?

Speaker 11 (23:01):
Oh?

Speaker 5 (23:01):
That was that was quite a win.

Speaker 15 (23:05):
I mean, it was just just they went out, they
came out to swing. It went on full attack, which
is very unusual for this team. And after that first
in they all at the top of the first all
I had in my mind was two words, just respond.

Speaker 19 (23:20):
They just needed to respond. They couldn't lay down and
just go one, two, three in the bottom They had
to respond.

Speaker 11 (23:26):
When they did.

Speaker 1 (23:28):
Yeah, and it was how about this? Could it be
worse for the Cubs if they hadn't scored a run
in the first and yet the Brewers put up a
crooked number in the bottom half. No, it was made
worse by the solo home run and then the Brewers
put up a six pack on them.

Speaker 15 (23:49):
Yeah, it was funny yesterday that Craig said they don't swing.

Speaker 11 (23:54):
Okay, sure, s Craig, we don't swing. But Murkh just
turned that right around it.

Speaker 1 (24:01):
It's just beautiful. The woodpeckers were this is this, this
has been Brewers baseball. That first and second inning offensively
was a mic really the whole team, really, the defense
and pitching as well. First couple of innings of this
baseball game was a microcosm of what the Brewers are

(24:21):
this season. They just it was drawing walks, it was
deep counts, it was staying in the battle each at bat,
it was coming up with a big hit. It's just beautiful,
all right, Sam, thank you for the reaction. We appreciate that.
Let's get to Craig Council here. Again, we haven't previewed this,

(24:41):
so I hope Craig doesn't swear at all. I'm going
to assume he doesn't.

Speaker 5 (24:46):
I would vote no, but I got the dumb button
ready just in case.

Speaker 1 (24:51):
He might have once when he was twelve and then
he got grounded. Yes, but let's hear a little bit
of Craig Council after his team lost to yours.

Speaker 2 (25:02):
As a manager and.

Speaker 10 (25:06):
Very much be.

Speaker 20 (25:09):
Modep wise going right away and how how different does it?

Speaker 19 (25:15):
Uh?

Speaker 7 (25:20):
Yeah, I mean in games like this, Yeah, I mean
that's that's why we had somebody up with twenty some
pitches into the game, so he tried to be aggressive.

Speaker 4 (25:31):
You know.

Speaker 7 (25:31):
They they did a great job in the first inning, man,
I mean, I mean that's bottom line. They had really
good at thats. They hit some balls, they hit balls hard,
they spoiled pitches. The Perkins at bat was straight at that.
I mean, I gotta give him credit for that. He
Matt made some pitches to him and he spoiled them
and ended up with.

Speaker 4 (25:51):
A base hit. It was a really really good major
league at bat.

Speaker 1 (25:56):
And you know we.

Speaker 7 (25:57):
Obviously the air. You know, they capitalized on the air.
They capitalized on an extra out very well.

Speaker 4 (26:04):
And then that that cost us for sure, right, I was.

Speaker 10 (26:10):
Just gonna a little bit more, but you just said
to capitalize on it as well.

Speaker 4 (26:22):
Yeah, I mean, I think that's the big thing is that,
you know, they they capitalized it on it.

Speaker 7 (26:28):
You know, we we you know, even with the air,
could you know, if we get our teas out, it's
for one game, we couldn't get our you know, we
walked our teas, which was was costly. Obviously, Cheerio hit
a pretty good pitch, did a nice job, but yeah,
they capitalized on an extra out. Craig, you said, you

(26:52):
guys and about thinking about this moment after it came
out one long?

Speaker 10 (26:57):
What made you guys think that when you talk.

Speaker 7 (26:59):
To Yeah, I mean, like I said, I think, just
we didn't feel like he the number of pitches that
he threw on on Tuesday, what he's done all season,
and our best starting pitcher, those two things, you know,

(27:32):
I mean, I think, Look, Aaron and Ben did a
heck of a job, super important. You know, our our
believers are completely reset.

Speaker 1 (27:41):
We can.

Speaker 7 (27:44):
Work with the Monday's game. However, we want to really
really important both guys. You know, when you're going to
your you know, third pitcher in the second inning, that
could be really problematic even.

Speaker 3 (27:58):
With the off days.

Speaker 7 (27:59):
Uh So, Aaron's outing, Bend's outing, you know, especially Aaron's outing,
really really saved us.

Speaker 10 (28:10):
Mhm right, obviously one loss, but you know, when is
it change your view of the series at all?

Speaker 7 (28:28):
See, I mean we're down one nothing nothing nothing else
changes besides that it's one nothing.

Speaker 4 (28:36):
I don't think.

Speaker 7 (28:40):
You know, I'm not sure. We'd managed the game game
differently on on Monday. Up one nothing, down one nothing.
So I'm not sure it does. We just we made
it harder for ourselves. We got to win three out
of four. Now they got to win two out of four.
Other than that, you know, we've got to do more.
We pitched both for the last six innings.

Speaker 11 (28:59):
We did.

Speaker 4 (29:00):
Didn't pitch great early.

Speaker 10 (29:02):
That's it. That's jes A great even though he were
fifty eight pitches.

Speaker 18 (29:10):
Is it is?

Speaker 10 (29:10):
It is three days press always that icy sort of situation,
no matter what, because it's so unusual for us.

Speaker 4 (29:21):
Yeah, I mean, we picked Matt boy to pitch. I
don't want to say he pitched. He pitched. It didn't
go well. We got to make decisions. I was. We
went with Matt. We're very comfortable. I was very very
comfortable putting that boy in the Mama Day. Organizations comfortable
putting that boy in the Mama Day.

Speaker 10 (29:43):
That's almost great.

Speaker 1 (29:47):
Okay, all right, that's how I like here in Craig
council right there. That's how we'd like to hear him.
Thank you, thank you.

Speaker 5 (29:57):
He's comfortable.

Speaker 1 (29:58):
Everybody, everyone's fine, it's fine. Craig. Wow, Brewers get the
victory nine to three. And uh, let's go back to
the phone lines here at nikolay lad dot com talking
text line eight seven seven seven nine one, seven to three,
our buddy, Chase, Chase, how about this one? Brewers beat

(30:21):
the Cubs in Game one?

Speaker 21 (30:23):
Yeah, baby, Brews run shop baby, were going all the
way love me.

Speaker 1 (30:31):
Yes, Yes, indeed, this is a.

Speaker 8 (30:36):
Game we needed right here, That's how we needed to
get I don't want to butt into the ballplace today.

Speaker 22 (30:48):
I was.

Speaker 9 (30:49):
I was pretty nervous.

Speaker 8 (30:51):
Cubs are getting the hot at the.

Speaker 17 (30:53):
Right time right now, and the Brewers coming off the
end of the.

Speaker 8 (30:57):
Season, they didn't get there. I'm too good to turn
off the last few games.

Speaker 17 (31:06):
But now tonight today we have proved it.

Speaker 8 (31:12):
We're the best team in this league.

Speaker 1 (31:14):
There you go, Chase. I'm gonna tell you a secret,
just between you and me. I was nervous too, Yeah, yeah,
it's okay. Nervous, all right.

Speaker 8 (31:31):
I mean I also hold curios of Okay, who do
you think would be next to one?

Speaker 1 (31:39):
Okay, well I would I would assume assume Collins would be.

Speaker 23 (31:43):
Yeah, ye, who's taking his raster spot?

Speaker 8 (31:50):
If it is that extreme?

Speaker 1 (31:52):
Oh? Good question. Oh, that is a good question.

Speaker 5 (31:56):
Then you gotta go, Hoskins, I think, don't you You
have to?

Speaker 1 (32:00):
Yeah, I think you do. I think you do. Chase,
enjoy it and remember it's okay to be nervous. This
is sports nervous. Okay, you two? All right? You two?
Eight seven seven seven nine four one ninety seven three.
We will get to Pat Murphy, so that's for sure.

(32:20):
We'll get some of the players. Hunter Bombguard is going
to join us as well. But a long way to
go here still over an hour. So if you you, uh,
you've wanted to get in and you can't get in,
there's a much better chance today. And then we've had
in a while here at eight seven seven seven nine
four one ninety seven three, there's pipe Bomb Tim Allen

(32:44):
nine three Brewers over the cubs and where are we going?
Pipe Bomb?

Speaker 5 (32:47):
Let's go out to Aiden eight eight Timmy.

Speaker 1 (32:51):
Good evening. What's going on? We're celebrating.

Speaker 23 (32:56):
Hey, guys, what's up?

Speaker 17 (32:58):
We're I'm just heading out of the stadium right now.

Speaker 19 (33:00):
Now.

Speaker 17 (33:00):
What an amazing game?

Speaker 8 (33:02):
You know, it's so packed with Bruce fans mostly. Yeah,
just like just like what Chase was talking about it,
I was nervous after the first first home run, I
think it was Bush, Michael Bush had and oh man,
the Cups stands so annoying, I gotta tell you. But
six thick runs in the bottom of the first inning,

(33:22):
Oh that shut them up for good.

Speaker 17 (33:23):
And then three more add on to that.

Speaker 23 (33:25):
What a game?

Speaker 1 (33:27):
All Yeah, it's still stunning though, what now when when
Bush at the home run aiden, it did seem a
little bit more than ten percent of that place were
cub fans to me, but all the reports were getting it.
It was stacked against him in terms of attendance, but
it did seem loud after that Homer.

Speaker 8 (33:48):
Oh yeah, definitely. Well like, yeah, it was the first
one put up, so everybody, every Cup sent in there thought, oh, yeah,
we're gonna win this game. You know, they thought they
had a really good chance.

Speaker 21 (33:58):
But not even later.

Speaker 8 (34:01):
Oh now, man, we're down six to one.

Speaker 9 (34:03):
What can we do?

Speaker 4 (34:04):
You know?

Speaker 8 (34:05):
Parolta pitched amazing though. He didn't let that first home
run get in the way of his What he pitched
sixth innings?

Speaker 1 (34:12):
Was that five and two thirds?

Speaker 8 (34:14):
Yeah, yeah, he did amazing. He didn't let that home
run get in the way of his perfect performance. So
shout out to him and shout out to the rest
of the team. I really hope Churio's okay, and let's
win this NLDS and let's mix to the NLCS.

Speaker 1 (34:32):
Yeah, let's do it. Aiden, thank you for the call,
Thanks for your reaction here on the postgame show with
Potawatomy Sportsbook. Yeah, Freddy Peralta, I mean, he just it
appeared that he wasn't going to be denied. And I
know Murphy's gonna give Contraras a lot of credit here,
but it just appeared that Freddy was this was gonna

(34:54):
happen for Freddie Pipeom.

Speaker 19 (34:55):
It was.

Speaker 1 (34:56):
It's game one of the postseason. He's been having a
incredible year now again despite pits counts, just an incredible
season for Freddie Peralta, and he was not going to
be denied today.

Speaker 5 (35:09):
Yeah, he absolutely was.

Speaker 2 (35:11):
You know, this was kind of the outing where, you know,
we've talked about it earlier this season where it seems
like if you allow a leadoff home run that a
lot of times that's kind of the only run you
do allow. And we'll all sit there in the first
batter of the game goes yard and you're like, oh man,
we might be in for a long day and then

(35:31):
the Brewers just straight up got rolling. But this is
a bulldog type performance. This to me was a Brandon
Woodruff type performance where Freddie Peralta. Yes, he gave up
that long ball to start things, but he, just like
you said, Timmy wasn't going to be denied. You would
have had to sit there and just pick him up

(35:51):
and physically drag him off the field. He was, it
seemed like that determined to go out there and do
one hell of a job, and he sure did.

Speaker 1 (36:01):
Outstanding performance. Five and two thirds, a couple of runs,
nine strikeouts in this postseason game. That ties a franchise
record in postseason game for a Brewer starter with Giovanni Guardo,
Brandon Woodruff and Don Sutton, all of those three pitchers
along now with Freddie Peralta a nine punch out game

(36:23):
in the postseason. Let's go to Dan, Dan your next
here on ninety seven to three of the game.

Speaker 11 (36:29):
Hey, how are you guys doing?

Speaker 1 (36:31):
More important? How you are Dan?

Speaker 19 (36:35):
Well, I'm feeling great. I think this actually I think
this series is over.

Speaker 1 (36:41):
They have no bull time left. Their best pitcher is Aaron.

Speaker 11 (36:47):
Savallee, who is now done the series, and.

Speaker 1 (36:51):
I think.

Speaker 11 (36:54):
I just want to know, are you more worried about
the Dodgers.

Speaker 1 (36:58):
Or the Phillies, because I, okay, go ahead. I think
this puppy's over. Oh my goodness, Dan, I hope you
are right. My gosh, I hope you're right. Pipe Bomb,
You're not. I know you're not. You're not ready to go.
It's over.

Speaker 5 (37:19):
No, no, no no, this thing is only just beginning here.

Speaker 2 (37:24):
And let me read this this text that we got
on the on the text line today. Oh, let me
nineteen eighty two World Series Game one Brewers ten nothing winners,
relieved that we won the first game today and in

(37:45):
eighty two I thought they were invincible.

Speaker 5 (37:48):
But this series is long, long, but over.

Speaker 1 (37:51):
I'm already getting nervous for Monday. Yim me too. I
kind of am guys, But it's again. It doesn't mean
that I necess necessarily fear. It just means that it's
that team which ratchets things up for me. Long time
listeners of this show, you guys know me. The Cubs
just do something to me, and in a bad way.

(38:12):
Well they just do you need a therapy And I'm
not gonna probably dispute that, but in a weird way.
They they affect me and I that part of it
is always a I mean, look, I uh, I get
passionate about a Cub Brewer series in May. Can you

(38:37):
just I'm sure I'm not alone here in this.

Speaker 2 (38:41):
Of course you're not alone. You get passionate about a
Cub's Brewers game in spring training in your that too,
and you're pacing and you're pounding beers.

Speaker 5 (38:50):
So yeah, you know it. Yeah, you get rolled up.

Speaker 1 (38:54):
I know, there's no doubt. So now, this is the
first time these two teams have faced each other in
playoff game. Do you realize that? I do know there? Yeah,
they have not faced each other in the postseason. Think
about that. This is the first time. Now, there was

(39:15):
a Game one sixty three in twenty eighteen, so that
was you know, for all the marvels, but the loser
didn't go home right now, in this series, that was
a one game. In this series, the loser goes home
you and the other team's season. This is this is

(39:37):
way bigger than just my normal nervous I hate the
cub kind of series in May. This is like times ten. Yeah,
I know it's crazy, and some people think I'm nuts.
But okay, fine, I can't help it. Let's go to Marshall,
Marcell your next Nicolay law dot com talk in tax

(39:58):
line eight seven seven A nine seven three.

Speaker 11 (40:03):
Hello, guys, how about them Brewers today?

Speaker 1 (40:07):
How about them?

Speaker 11 (40:07):
Yes, sir, to do a little Jimmy Johnson imitation there,
I you will. This was great. I didn't catch much
of it. I've been deal with what how or weather
side doing things today?

Speaker 1 (40:23):
But hold on, hold on time out, time out, time out,
time timeout, Marshall. Listen, buddy, this is a Brewers Cubs
playoff game, one of the NLDS, when the Brewers had
ninety seven victories, the best team in baseball at home

(40:44):
against Craig Council, and you were out doing yard work.

Speaker 11 (40:51):
Part of the time, not the whole time, but I too. Secondly,
it was already six to one, caught dance up nine
to one, and uh, you know, I was back and
forth on it through through the next few winnings, and
I think I kind of figured we had it one
at that point too.

Speaker 1 (41:10):
So okay, okay, fair enough, and uh yeah.

Speaker 11 (41:16):
I'm just it just blew my game, blew my mind.
I was I predicted four to two today Brewers. But
I expected a closer game and the tighter one, and
I thought that our pitching would be as good as
it turned out to be today that part. But boy,
we just it just so great that this was This

(41:38):
was one of those games that you're happy about, but
you also think to yourself, let's hope we saved enough
for tomorrow, because man, I want to take this thing
by the juggler right now, get up to nothing because
it could beat us three straight.

Speaker 1 (41:54):
Well, and that's the thing, Marshall, Thank thank you hanging there. Yeah,
Monday's game game too, obviously, guys is they're all essential here.
But if you do, if you don't allow them to
steal one in your park, you just steal one in theirs,
and it's over all right, So now we just hell,

(42:16):
you just look at it that way. Now. I think
it was Dan that said Dodgers or Phillies which one? Yeah,
I don't know. Man, this is a Brewer cub series
and anything goes, anything can happen. I heard Darling on
TBS talk about Yelich's questioning Yellich's stolen base late in

(42:37):
the game. Oh, come on, he did, and I felt
like reaching through the TV and saying, listen, buddy, you
don't know Cub Brewer series. Crazy stuff happens. You don't
let up in a Brewer Cub series? Am I wrong
on that?

Speaker 22 (42:52):
No?

Speaker 5 (42:53):
You're one hundred percent right.

Speaker 2 (42:54):
And not only do you not let up in a
Cub's Brewer series, you don't let up in the playoff period.
End of story, Darling should know a hell of a
lot better than that stupid comment there.

Speaker 1 (43:07):
Yeah, that was it was interesting. What did you guys
think about those of you that watched on TV? What
did you think about the let's see how can I
put I won't say anti local announcers, but just the
national announcers? How about that? The national guys? What did
you think of the calls that they had? Eight seven seven,

(43:30):
seven nine four one ninety seven three. There's jeff Orlawski,
the Polish pipe bomb, Tim Allen Nicolay Load dot Com
talking texta line. We'll get back to it. Brewers get
the victory taking game one of the NLDS here in
the twenty twenty five championship season, and we're talking about
it on the postgame show with Potawatami Sportsbook bet above
the rest here on ninety seven to three the game

(43:52):
and the iHeartRadio app. Shall we It's Game two on
Monday and carbon copy this one and we will take
it and celebrate some more postgame show with Pottawatomy Sportsbook
bet above the rest here on ninety seven to three
The game and the iHeartRadio app. It's just that much better.
Although you know, since it is the Cubs, it does

(44:14):
elevate things a little bit. I get that, and that
affects me for sure. But this is a big win
despite it being against the Cubs. It just is a
big win. It is It's part of this journey and
that layoff that a lot of folks have talked about, Well,
it didn't seem to zap any energy out of this

(44:37):
Brewer squad. As I said a while ago, this first
couple of innings of this game a little bit of
a microcosm of what the Brewers are this season. You
did see it all. You saw some good pitching, you
saw some good defense, and you saw these guys just
just battle in the box, just continue to back. We're

(45:00):
gonna hear from Blake Perkins. You heard from Craig Counsel
talk about the ab to Blake that was an eleven
pitch RBI base hit and I think that was a
and I know it only scored the one run. Durbin
had a two run, Jackson Serio had a two run.
I know it only knocked in one, but I'm gonna

(45:20):
tell you that was the turning point in this game.
That for me, was the biggest a bat in this game.
Oh yes, a tremendous at bat.

Speaker 3 (45:30):
It was.

Speaker 2 (45:31):
It was, you know, to sit there and hang in
there see eight hundred and fifty seven pitches and then
come through was absolutely huge. What I loved about this game,
you know, like you said, this is exactly who the
Brewers are. They kept getting hits, they kept getting on base,
they kept the line moving, and it didn't matter young

(45:51):
guy veteran.

Speaker 5 (45:53):
They just all got it done.

Speaker 2 (45:55):
And that's what you know, if you think once this
season is over over and you know, I'm not a
big numbers guy because I don't know how to look
him up real good and I'm not very smart, but
if you go back and look at just the contributions
of the young dudes alone, that is what's makee you know.
And then the way that Matt Arnold built this line up,

(46:18):
you got the seasoned veterans with Yelly and Hoskins even
though he didn't make the roster in this round yet,
stuff like that. So you've got the veterans sprinkled in,
but you got so many young guys that have just
come through time and time and time again. It's just
this is an absolutely Brewer's entire team win, with the

(46:41):
exception of Freddy Peralta, because he gets so much credit
for this one.

Speaker 1 (46:45):
Yeah he does. And you look up at that pitching line,
and this again why the Brewers are successful this year.
You didn't talk all about the woodpeckers and the average
Joe's and they toy in the fight and you know,
win tonight, mantra. But it does, it does lend something

(47:09):
to that starting staff when you look up and you say, wow,
look at this five and two thirds, two run ball.
That's good in baseball, folks, that's super good. That's that's
a great outing these days. It is now. Would we
want them to get through six, of course, but just
ran out of a little steam there late, but nine
punch outs in a postseason game. Way to set the tone.

(47:32):
Freddie Pralter, we're gonna hear from him and Blake Perkins
and others. As we move along. Let's get back to
the calls. We'll get in as many as we can
here on the nicolay law dot Com talking text line.
When somebody drops off, you guys can jump in eight
seven seven seven nine four one seven three. We go
to Jordan. Jordan, what's going on? A Brewers win over

(47:53):
the Cubs in Game one of the NLDS.

Speaker 18 (47:57):
All I have to say is too Cubs choke. Cubs
are gonna lose today.

Speaker 1 (48:07):
No Cubs, No, no, Cubs no. Yes.

Speaker 18 (48:14):
And I comment on the TBS announcers. Alex Foust is
one best in the game. I appreciate his play by play.
But Ron Darling he's gonna be Ron Darling. He's a
Mets guy through and through. He's going to be negative
about the small market guys. So I you know, he
wasn't my favorite today.

Speaker 1 (48:34):
But yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, no, I I get it, Jordan,
But yeah, good stuff. Thank you, not only the content
from Darling. I don't know if you guys know this,
and maybe this is just my thing. I've been accused.
I have a good friend in this industry, works for
another station. He's always said to me, Tim, you're all

(48:56):
about sound. Well, of course I am. That's what we do.
He goes, well, it's about content, and I said, well, yes,
it's about what you say, but it's also about how
you sound while saying it. For example, listen to the
listen around the dial these days in radio, and I
don't want to go off on a tangent on anti

(49:18):
radio stuff. I love this industry, but I also dislike
it in ways too. You have guys that gains and
tonight it's gonna be apparently sunny and fifty two and tomorrow,
look you roll the clock back twenty five years. No
way anyone lets you on the radio at that point. Okay,

(49:41):
So it is about content and the way you sound.
Ron Darling, here's my point. It just seems like he's
way too relaxed. Dude. There is a off game in
front of you. We have forty two thousand right there
in front of you. What indicator is that it's a
huge indicator that you're viewing in this area is through

(50:06):
the roof. Right, get into it a little bit, because
we are match your audience a little bit. We're fired
up here and you're doing a show at the library.

Speaker 5 (50:18):
Yeah, it sounds like half the game.

Speaker 2 (50:20):
He sat there and had his feet up on the desk,
you know, get in front of the microphone, sit up,
act right. But yeah, no, I agree with you his
you know, the excitement level wasn't there. I definitely did
not come within you know, it was fifty percent or
more less than what the crowd was bringing.

Speaker 1 (50:40):
So you know that's the crowd. I agree, pipe pipe
onm I agree. And I think sometimes on the Facebook games,
the YouTube games, the Apple TV games, it's it's like
number one. I don't know if the crowd mics are
placed as good as like fan Duel Sports Network or

(51:03):
the Brewers Radio Network. And they do more Brewer games,
so they geographically within that confines of the stadium, they
know where to set the mic levels. I get it.
So this, you know, you do it enough and you're
gonna get it right. But it just seems almost a
dull sort of sound when when some of these other
platforms do the games.

Speaker 3 (51:23):
Or is that just me?

Speaker 17 (51:25):
No?

Speaker 5 (51:25):
No, I agree with you. I agree with you.

Speaker 2 (51:28):
And the thing is is that you know all all
they have to do, like you know, TBS, they haven't
been around uh this season, ask someone who has, you know,
how come no one's putting in their arm around. Uh,
you know, anybody from from the flagship? Hey man, where
do you guys think that I should set up the

(51:50):
crowd mics or the field mics anything. Ask somebody who
knows and who's been around.

Speaker 1 (51:56):
Sideline reporter did a great job. I thought that was
a fantastic job. Look, I don't want to rip on
TBS and Darling and these guys, and I'm not. I'm
just giving you my opinion of what my ears here,
and that's all. That's all you want to talk about it, Ron,
I'd be happy to talk to you about it. All right,
Let's go to Papa D. Papa D, you're next. Ninety

(52:21):
seven to three of the game Brewers meet the Cubs today.

Speaker 11 (52:25):
They sure did.

Speaker 19 (52:27):
I just can't help but think about all the boardrooms
and all the meetings that people have to go through
and learn about culture and the environment and you know
all that you want to know. Look at the Milwaukee Brewers.
That is a functioning, chemistry, riven organization. And I don't

(52:50):
believe it's ai. I think it's real. Yes, anyway, God
bless you as an old man. Having FM sports radio
is just it's like gold to me because we didn't
have it growing up. I always say the same things.
I'm a sixth grader walking home and my friend boxes

(53:13):
my dad said, baseball's coming to Milwaukee. And I think
there's been less than five people in a Brewer uniform
that I haven't seen play. So when I talk about
this team, i'm my heart is in it.

Speaker 11 (53:27):
So keep it up.

Speaker 19 (53:29):
Me too, me too, and just you know, soak up
the grave, everybody, because it might be another decade or
two before it happened. Soak it up, enjoy it, be nice,
don't be so negative.

Speaker 1 (53:40):
You know, enjoy it. Yes, there you go, there you go, Papa,
Papa d thank you.

Speaker 10 (53:47):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (53:47):
I remember inviting him back, Yes, inviting him back on
the area called some weeks ago, and we asked him
not to be a stranger a guy. You know, there's
always there's always some wisdom built up in age and
they may not be perfect pipe Bomb might not be
perfect at your age or my age or whatever, but

(54:10):
there's something to say about wisdom. And he's right on
the money. Just enjoy this, and that's why, you know,
I think part of the enjoyment for me here in
a win like this is remembering what the season was
as well to get to this point, and that's the thing.
They didn't mention that on the broadcast as well about

(54:31):
the game in Pittsburgh, which everyone's thinking that's the tipping point,
but and it might might have been. I think there
are a few tipping points. But I think part of
the enjoyment of this right now is remembering what they've
been through throughout the course of this season or this journey.
As we say, I think a year or two ago,
we were writing a book. A baseball season is like

(54:54):
a book, and it's compiled of different chapters, and this
is the chapter of the injury, or this is the
chapter of I think Kablamo was one chapter that we
wrote a couple of years ago. But that that's the
storylines that make this up now. I think my thing
this year has been, you know, special seasons are made

(55:17):
of special stories, and oh boy, there's been a lot
of them. There's been a lot of them this year.
Let's go to Justin on the Nicolayla dot Com talk
in text line eight seven seven seven nine seven three
Brewers over the Cubs. You're on the postgame show with
Pottawatami Sportsbook. What's up justin.

Speaker 17 (55:37):
Yo, man, it's still I'm still excited.

Speaker 23 (55:40):
I don't know what that.

Speaker 17 (55:41):
Bum Ron Darling and the other bum now was with him.
Damn near cheer for the Cubs. I know that guy
said Another guy before said he's a great announcer, but
I think he's a borderline fib Anyways, what a day?
What a day?

Speaker 22 (55:55):
Tim?

Speaker 17 (55:56):
You know why I'm so exciting because we're packed in
like a fat bitch and exter small underwear following the
bad Man. There doesn't get any better than this. We're
beating this title cluse for one day. But like the kid,
I think it was Chaser. One of the young guys
said they were nervous. Hey, I'm scared, sugar honey iced tea.

(56:16):
Lings and I still am because that's just one game.
But am I up about this? Absolutely? I'm asleep willing
this weekend. I'm gonna have a great weekend. Trendy Paranta
and these guys are were absolutely amazing today. Every single
one of the Nogga touch a bet on our lineup.
The dummy Robert Darling said that Jackson Curio's out for

(56:36):
the series. He's an idiot and if you don't do
your homework, and you don't know there's a nice, fine
young woman down there, Sophie and Minnard go talk to her,
or better yet, let me do it.

Speaker 11 (56:48):
I'll take that for him.

Speaker 16 (56:49):
Kemp A man, listen, I'm just so excited.

Speaker 17 (56:55):
I got word thing and then I gotta go, Marsha,
we gotta call your ass out.

Speaker 16 (56:59):
Dog Sorry, brot.

Speaker 1 (57:01):
Man, I did I was you know what, I didn't,
I justin pipe Bomb. I I didn't want to call
him out. I just I had I just had to.
We love him, but I just had to.

Speaker 17 (57:15):
No, we definitely love you, Marshall, but it's just the
biggest game of the year and you're out there playing
with tomatoes and we's what the hell?

Speaker 18 (57:23):
But you know what, now we're superstitious.

Speaker 17 (57:26):
So Marsha, You're ass needs to be out there, and
that damns down in the yard.

Speaker 4 (57:32):
Game.

Speaker 17 (57:33):
Yeah, you damn your blowing better look like that golf
hole in Century League and Steven's point by the time
we're done with all those continion of flowers and all
that other I was just picking with you, Marshall. I
know Kenny's mad at me because I'm nervous. Pike Bomb's
mad at me because I'm nervous. I'm gonna go ahead,
and I'm gonna be nervous Monday too. It's a phenomenal effort.
Love Fat Murphy, love it. Hey, Pike Bomb is the

(57:55):
smartest guy on the radio, and he's Sis Mex to
Tan Allen.

Speaker 23 (57:58):
It doesn't get any dad better.

Speaker 17 (58:00):
We need more goddamn poor stuff on the air.

Speaker 1 (58:05):
There is okay. So as excited as excited as we
are today, let's not forget the pendulum can go the
other direction. It can. And Uh, as passionate on the
positive side as I can be, we can be just
as passionate on that other side. And I don't mean

(58:26):
necessarily negative. What I mean is, uh, I can be
really angry Monday. I don't know, and that makes me nervous.
So so come home because I don't know what's gonna
happen on Monday. And that's the nervous part. And that's
the it's fun though, I will say it's the fun

(58:46):
part of sports. It's okay to be nervous. I mean,
if you had I mean, it's like, you know, would
you want your team? Let me give you an example.
I know of it. A travel ball team a few
years ago that won every single game. They played like

(59:09):
blowout rule, pipe bomb, okay, and when there was no run,
when there was no run rule, it literally was like
twenty eight to two constantly every game all summer, all
summer long. Boom boom, boom, twelve two twelve one seven,
zip ten zip, on and on and on and on

(59:30):
and on and on. They played like seventy games that
summer and lost one time. The chance I didn't have
a good no, no, no no, But that didn't seem
like fun to me. Now I'm not asking for a loss,
don't get me wrong, But if you just had your

(59:50):
team win every game and you weren't nervous, I don't
know if that I don't know if sports would be
fun that way. Pipe Bomb, I'd like to try to,
you know, try it out for season or two where
the Brewers are just wow, and we had one, we
had a wild season ninety seven. It still makes me
nervous here. Well, it can't help it, of.

Speaker 2 (01:00:11):
Course, And yes, do we all want them to go
one seventy three and no next season?

Speaker 5 (01:00:16):
Absolutely?

Speaker 2 (01:00:17):
But is it the roller coaster ride with the ups
and the downs, And obviously you want a lot more
ups than downs, but it's that that daily grind, and
you know it all adds up, man, the injuries, all
this kind of stuff, what they've had to fight through,
the constant sending guys up and down the whole, you know,

(01:00:39):
frequent flyer miles with these dudes going down to nash
Vegas and coming back. This is what makes this season
and what makes baseball season so special because of how
long it is, because of how often they play, because
it's an everyday thing. You're damn right, you should celebrate
on games like this. But like you Tim, of course,

(01:01:00):
or you know, would go in one seventy three and
oh would that be an absolute you know, something that
we'd love to live through?

Speaker 1 (01:01:08):
Yes?

Speaker 5 (01:01:08):
Would it? Would it be as exciting?

Speaker 2 (01:01:10):
And if you know today was win one sixty three,
or would you be as excited as you are now?

Speaker 5 (01:01:18):
And I think the answer is no.

Speaker 1 (01:01:21):
Probably not, because you get so used you would you would,
in that theory, get get used to it. And that's
what we're saying that, Hey, they still have to play
the games. And the Cubs are a decent team. Guys,
they are, and I think you got to go at hitters,
and I think that's the one thing I was thinking

(01:01:41):
about during this game. Go at these guys. If they
hit a couple of solo home runs, that may have
been the strategy. Pipe bomb. If they hit a couple
of solo homers, fine, but go at them, go right
at them, because they do tend to strike out. They're
not the same offensive team they in the first half.

(01:02:02):
You might be hitting this team at the right time,
but go at him. And if you give up a
solo shot, big deal. But don't let him would peck you, don't,
don't allow a walk. Then you hit a man and
then you get a scratch single and all of a sudden,
now you got a three run home runner. Worse. That
may have been the strategy here. I was thinking about

(01:02:23):
that during the game. From Freddie Pralta, all right, let's
see James, James, what do you say you're on the
postgame show. Welcome in. What's going on, guys, what's happening?

Speaker 14 (01:02:37):
I got a comment about the game, and then I
have two stories. Pick one because I know you're in
a hurry.

Speaker 13 (01:02:46):
But the content, does do you think?

Speaker 14 (01:02:50):
Or I think the first two wings for off.

Speaker 19 (01:02:54):
A sat so long?

Speaker 10 (01:02:56):
Did he get tight?

Speaker 15 (01:02:58):
I mean he was it was an hour for the.

Speaker 11 (01:03:00):
First two innings.

Speaker 17 (01:03:02):
Yeah, we have gotten tight.

Speaker 21 (01:03:03):
And and you know what I'm saying, he didn't get
to losen.

Speaker 23 (01:03:05):
He just they're not used to.

Speaker 14 (01:03:07):
Sitting there for a half hour, because I was.

Speaker 19 (01:03:10):
I was sitting there watching it, and.

Speaker 14 (01:03:11):
It was an hour for the first twinnings.

Speaker 1 (01:03:15):
If that were the case, James, he he did get
a shutdown inning in the second and a shutdown inning
in the third. So I I don't think it. I
don't think it affected him at all.

Speaker 8 (01:03:27):
Right, Uh, so, my I got two stories.

Speaker 23 (01:03:30):
Pick one.

Speaker 11 (01:03:31):
It's either rust stop or pub and grill.

Speaker 1 (01:03:37):
Let's go pub and grill, bub and grill for two.

Speaker 19 (01:03:40):
Okay, they both have.

Speaker 14 (01:03:42):
To do with Cubtans. She might want to hear the
first one too, but pub and grill. So I got
I'm working in Madison, and I came up here today
and went to a pub and grill to watch the
game and have something to eat. And there was a
club standing there watching a game. And I don't don't drink.
I met you guys down that pot of Yeah, I

(01:04:04):
don't drink or gamble or nothing. And uh, and he
he wanted to buy us a shot afterwards.

Speaker 11 (01:04:10):
I said, Oh, and man, I don't drink. I appreciate it,
you can buy it.

Speaker 3 (01:04:13):
For somebody else.

Speaker 17 (01:04:14):
And went off on me.

Speaker 14 (01:04:15):
And he was pretty pissed off the whole game, because
I mean, we're laughing at also looked like a little
five year old that lost his pumpy after the second
inning when he was throwing sheets and like you said,
not missing his mouth or or whatever. And uh so
I'm just like all right, dude, And he just went
off on me because I wouldn't.

Speaker 17 (01:04:35):
Have a shot with him, like I don't drink.

Speaker 14 (01:04:38):
I'm like, no, I'm not having a shot mister in Madison.

Speaker 21 (01:04:42):
So I'm like, what are you doing here, dude?

Speaker 1 (01:04:46):
Let me let me yeah, let me guess he was
a state assembly man.

Speaker 21 (01:04:52):
Probably yeah, quick.

Speaker 14 (01:04:55):
Quick rest stop, cut fan on my way up here,
stopped the rest, went to the bathroom or my Uh
usually don't wear a bruise cap when I work, but just.

Speaker 19 (01:05:05):
With the day, I thought i'd wear it.

Speaker 1 (01:05:07):
And went off on me in the bathroom.

Speaker 3 (01:05:10):
Oh wow.

Speaker 1 (01:05:12):
You know what, though, James, I will say this, I'm
running around here. Well yeah, well, I don't know. I
guess people are different, but running around here in Vegas
the last couple of days, I think we've seen more
Brewer fans than Cub fans. And I know that sounds crazy,

(01:05:33):
but my buddy Austin, former producer of this show Pipe,
I'm you know Austin. He wears his Yelli's jersey and
it's just constant go Brewers. You just hear it everywhere.
It's kind of cool. It really is kind of cool.

Speaker 14 (01:05:49):
We're just close to home and Cubs are close to us,
and you know, if we're at San Diego, obviously they're
not going to travel here like the Cubs fans.

Speaker 1 (01:05:58):
Do you know what we're sending back with, Yes, yes
we did. Yeah, thank you, James. Yeah no, James, you
don't have to remind us. We know who you are. Man.
We we love you. We we uh yeah. We talked
to him at Pottawatomi. That's where we met him face
to face. Of course.

Speaker 2 (01:06:15):
Well, and the thing is, Timmy, to build off what
you said about seeing more Brewers fans down in Vegas
than Cubs fans, if you're a Colorado Rocky fan, or
if you're a fan of the Rays or some team
that's not still in.

Speaker 5 (01:06:30):
It, the Brewers have to be who you're for.

Speaker 1 (01:06:35):
Point.

Speaker 2 (01:06:36):
This is small market grit, blue collar lunch, pale.

Speaker 5 (01:06:41):
Work boots, all that kind of crap. This is the
team you're going to root for.

Speaker 2 (01:06:46):
I don't see anybody in in a smaller market, a
smaller city, a small town USA sitting there and cheering
for the eight hundred million dollar payroll of the LA Dodgers.

Speaker 5 (01:06:59):
They're all all going to be rooting for their crew.

Speaker 1 (01:07:03):
Yeah, now there's I have. I'm not gonna tell you
we haven't run into some Cub fans, of course, and
some very cordial saying yeah, you know they're good, but
they're you guys are having a great year, you know that,
that sort of thing, so that there has been cordial
But man, I'm telling them, Brewer fevers catchy and it's

(01:07:24):
catching on nationwide.

Speaker 10 (01:07:25):
It is, it is.

Speaker 2 (01:07:27):
And if Brewers Nation can do me in favor on Monday,
if you guys can please blow up the phone lines
on Nobs just to laugh at Nick Brucewitz since he's
a Cub fan, that would be so much appreciated.

Speaker 5 (01:07:44):
Uh just you know, ha ha, Nick.

Speaker 2 (01:07:46):
You know it doesn't matter if you say anything else,
but yeah, light up those phone lines on Monday eight.

Speaker 1 (01:07:52):
Seven, seven, seven nine four one ninety seven to three
on the Nicola LA dot com talk and text line.
Brewers win and we're talking about it. Nine to three
they take Game one of the NLDS here in the
twenty twenty five Championship season. Pipe bomb Tim Allen and
we go to Jim. Jim, you are next here on
ninety seven to three the game.

Speaker 13 (01:08:15):
Hey boys, it's Tim from the Falls.

Speaker 1 (01:08:17):
Oh Tim, what's up? Tim?

Speaker 5 (01:08:19):
What's happening?

Speaker 13 (01:08:20):
Hey? Hey, I just want to say, you know, as always,
this is what makes our whole season. You know, ninety
seven wins. My son and I were fortunate enough to
be down in Cincinnati when we watch him win the
two thirteenth and fourteenth wins. But I'll tell you what.
I'll tell you what today for me, and I'm being

(01:08:42):
a little selfish, but to me, I was out duck
hunting with my boys this morning. Like ten guys. We
all got together in the afternoon. You know, we were
rolling deep in a couple of cocktails for.

Speaker 1 (01:08:54):
A while watching the Brewers.

Speaker 13 (01:08:56):
Yeah, watching the Brewers and just having a blast. And
that's you know, whether if they beat the Cubs and
we don't go to the World Series, I'll be happy
because this whole season was phenomenal. It was absolutely phenomenal.
And being able to listen to you know and talk
to you guys after you know, every show or after

(01:09:18):
every game for the show, it's amazing. It's eighty five
degrees out in October. Being able to just immerse yourself
in a game like this and just have a blast,
there's just nothing better, nothing.

Speaker 3 (01:09:33):
Better, Tim Cool.

Speaker 2 (01:09:34):
Let me ask you a quick question, Tim, So you
obviously had a very busy day out duck Hunton, hanging
with the fellas, you know, hammering down some cocktails, watching
the brewers. Did you work in any yard work at
any any point along in the day.

Speaker 13 (01:09:49):
Gay pipe bomb, I'm telling you you don't live far
from me. And if you were to see me in
my yard right now, my girlfriend just spent like eight
grand on landscaping in front of the house. I'm watering bushes,
I am, I am, I am throwing, I am, I
am throwing everything this way in that way because she
just left for Minnesota and she's like, here's your list, Honey,

(01:10:12):
you had a great day.

Speaker 1 (01:10:13):
Let's make it better, perfect, perfect.

Speaker 13 (01:10:18):
It's awesome. But honestly got every every end.

Speaker 21 (01:10:20):
I got two dogs out here.

Speaker 13 (01:10:21):
It's awesome. But every day, but every day we get
to have like this is absolutely amazing. It's just absolutely amazing.
And we're not here for that long. Who knows that.
I mean, I'm sixty three, but who's who's to know
when we're going to be able to have this again?

Speaker 18 (01:10:37):
Hey, hey, come here, dogs, get over here?

Speaker 1 (01:10:40):
Whatever?

Speaker 17 (01:10:42):
But I mean, but that's it.

Speaker 13 (01:10:44):
You know, every moment is precious, Every moment is precious.
And if we if we don't, you know, acknowledge that
and look at that every day, it's foolish.

Speaker 1 (01:10:55):
It's foolish, man, It's it's just so cool. Pinch yourself,
Tim to thank you. Okay, take care of the dogs much.

Speaker 17 (01:11:04):
You got it?

Speaker 1 (01:11:04):
You got it. Yeah. I got your two dogs at
home too, and they sometimes want to go say hi
to people. Yeah, let's get to friendly. Well again, dogs
can be just well, we've been through that, Bruce. What
do you say? Welcome to the post game show. Brewers
win over the Cubs in the playoffs.

Speaker 23 (01:11:26):
What what's going on with my friends?

Speaker 16 (01:11:31):
I haven't talked to y'all.

Speaker 1 (01:11:32):
What's up? What's up my brother? Yeah? Where you've been? Uh?

Speaker 23 (01:11:38):
I think slack Carr working, getting making my money that's all.

Speaker 1 (01:11:42):
Good, good, good, good good.

Speaker 16 (01:11:45):
Check this out.

Speaker 23 (01:11:46):
Check this out. I got something better for you.

Speaker 18 (01:11:49):
Okay.

Speaker 17 (01:11:49):
I'm sitting at home and you know, I'm at work
right now.

Speaker 21 (01:11:53):
So I'm sitting at home.

Speaker 23 (01:11:54):
I'm sitting there watching.

Speaker 17 (01:11:55):
The Badger game right and I'm like, you know what,
the brew is playing one o'clock.

Speaker 16 (01:12:02):
So I turned on the So I turned on.

Speaker 13 (01:12:03):
The Brewer game.

Speaker 18 (01:12:04):
I was like, oh, hey, stay up, three one are already.

Speaker 23 (01:12:08):
I'm like, okay, So then.

Speaker 11 (01:12:12):
The Brewers, you know, like on some more runs.

Speaker 23 (01:12:15):
I'm sitting there screaming and shouting in my house and
my girls like quiet down.

Speaker 16 (01:12:19):
I'm like, find a meeting, just the Brewers in the cup.

Speaker 17 (01:12:23):
I gotta watch the game.

Speaker 23 (01:12:27):
Man, Hey, and look on Cret's house on s face
today said it off, took his hat off. He was
getting knocked frustrated over there in the game.

Speaker 1 (01:12:39):
That was beautiful. That was beautiful.

Speaker 23 (01:12:42):
I have I hope he regretted me from a walking man,
I could just see it. Don't know where the money is.

Speaker 21 (01:12:50):
I'm sorry, man, but you got.

Speaker 16 (01:12:52):
To cook a Brewer's team and you bault on the Brewers.

Speaker 21 (01:12:55):
Sorry to be Craig console, but it's.

Speaker 1 (01:12:57):
True love it all right, Bruce. Great to hear from you, Bruce,
So go back to work and good. Good to see
your bosses are paying you to call the postgame show.
That's great. That's a great job right there.

Speaker 23 (01:13:13):
Man. You see hein nothing going on.

Speaker 17 (01:13:15):
I'm just sitting here just relating.

Speaker 16 (01:13:17):
Less see the radio and Monday.

Speaker 5 (01:13:21):
Work from hard working hard my man.

Speaker 1 (01:13:25):
I want that job. I want to pipe on you
and I need his job. You sit and listen to
the radio. Nothing going on.

Speaker 5 (01:13:32):
I'm good at that.

Speaker 1 (01:13:36):
We're really good at that.

Speaker 10 (01:13:37):
Bruce.

Speaker 1 (01:13:37):
Thank you. We'll talk again, all right. Uh let's we
still are going to hear from Pat Murphy. So still
a lot to get to. But it's our Saturday conversation
since no game tomorrow. It's our Saturday conversation with our lovable,
loyal uncle Jane. What it do, Uncle Jane?

Speaker 16 (01:14:01):
Good afternoon, Jumman.

Speaker 17 (01:14:03):
What did you what did dathtick?

Speaker 23 (01:14:07):
Bageball game? Today?

Speaker 17 (01:14:11):
I love how everybody's spired up. Yeah dam that, damn
mel the Brookrow. Let's please everybody that calls the Cubs
change it to scrubs, because that's what they are.

Speaker 16 (01:14:24):
They suck our hind keat and you're up with the
dairy cowb thing, if you know what I mean.

Speaker 21 (01:14:32):
But yeah, I'm thinking if we went on Monday, then
it's all over. But yeah, we gotta we gotta wind
on that. And I'm sorry to say I'm probably pushing
a six pack of spoted cow and a sixth.

Speaker 1 (01:14:46):
Pack and oh crap, one day to you then yeah, yeah,
it's been a great day.

Speaker 16 (01:14:55):
But U pipe on quick question? Are you still doing
intermission's tough for the Admirals hockey games?

Speaker 5 (01:15:03):
Yes, sir?

Speaker 16 (01:15:05):
And are they on nine to twenty or how do
you listen to you?

Speaker 5 (01:15:09):
Yeah, it'll be on nine to twenty.

Speaker 16 (01:15:12):
Okay, there's the team's supposed to be any good or
the garbage this year.

Speaker 2 (01:15:17):
They're gonna be good. Man, They're always good. They always overperform.

Speaker 5 (01:15:21):
Uh so yeah, they'll be good.

Speaker 2 (01:15:22):
But yeah, nine to twenty once the Admiral season gets
gets underway.

Speaker 5 (01:15:26):
But let's stick with the groove from now.

Speaker 16 (01:15:29):
Yes, absolutely, Tim, I heard you on Bill Michaels. You're
gonna be a regular guest on this show or we
don't know yet?

Speaker 1 (01:15:37):
Would No, I don't, I don't know whenever they we
just we just like having Brewer conversations, that's all. But Yeah,
a longtime friend of mine.

Speaker 16 (01:15:48):
That's cool. Yeah, it seems like a pretty cool vibe.
I never called any of the other shows other than
this one. I figured that, you know, maybe the rest
of the world doesn't need to know who the hell
uncle jan.

Speaker 1 (01:16:01):
We need to know more about you, Uncle James. In fact,
do you have how many tattoos do you have?

Speaker 16 (01:16:09):
Actually only one? It's a heart, and inside the heart
it's says Terry ray Rich.

Speaker 1 (01:16:16):
Oh there you Gon.

Speaker 16 (01:16:18):
Ironically, the mouth is gonna be a tough day because
I'm finally having a celebration of life for Aunt Terry,
even though I've had her ashes on my entertainment center
for months. But uh, I'm gonna ask you guys, d
I don't call Hi Wednesdays and Sundays no more. I'm
gonna thinking about calling every other every other game. Is

(01:16:41):
that cool?

Speaker 1 (01:16:43):
That's that's yes?

Speaker 16 (01:16:46):
Game three, Game five, Games seven. So that way all
the other postgamers got a.

Speaker 17 (01:16:52):
Chance to call. And Uh, that case kid, I remember.

Speaker 16 (01:16:56):
Him saying last week about trying to drive his dad car.

Speaker 3 (01:17:00):
No, no bike.

Speaker 16 (01:17:01):
You're gonna tell him watch first, mules, I have some
other kids car.

Speaker 5 (01:17:05):
Yes, sir, you got that right, Yes, yea kids.

Speaker 16 (01:17:10):
Right.

Speaker 17 (01:17:12):
Questions post game show hand on Terry and keep the
bus budget. Talk to you guys on Wednesday.

Speaker 1 (01:17:21):
Right later, Yes, sir, all right, there he is. I
love that dude.

Speaker 5 (01:17:28):
Of course.

Speaker 1 (01:17:29):
The reason I asked him about a tattoo pipe Vomas
because uh you see the Murph unveiled his tattoo. Yeah,
the Bucher tattoo. That's that's that's really interesting.

Speaker 2 (01:17:41):
Yeah, no, that's absolutely awesome. And uh, you know, Uncle James,
obviously tomorrow is gonna be tough. We all love Dan,
Terry and uh sorry for your loss, Uh Timmy quick question, if,
if Heaven forbid, if your significant other passed away, would
you keep her ashes on the entertainment center? And if

(01:18:04):
you did, if you were watching a questionable movie, would
you like cover it with the with the sheet or something.

Speaker 1 (01:18:11):
Well? I think a lot about that stuff. During certain activities,
who can actually look down upon you and see stuff?
So yeah, I had a little a little creepy about that.

Speaker 5 (01:18:28):
Okay, So anyway, let's go to break.

Speaker 1 (01:18:35):
Yeah, we'll get to Pat Murphy hunter bombguard on the
way at American Family Field to witness a nine three
Brewers win over the Cubs to take game one of
the nlds here in the twenty twenty five championship season.
Tend to go as they say, and we'll count them
down to a World Series title, hopefully, and we'll be

(01:18:55):
talking about it after each and every game on the
post game show with Potawatam Sportsbook bet above the rest,
there's by Bomb Tim Allen Brewers beat the Cubs. We'll
be back ninety seven to three of the game and
the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 24 (01:19:09):
All right, what are we gonna talk about? We'll start
with Todd a second row the mic. We're starting with Todd.
Huh so first, right, well, I mean I didn't get
the choice.

Speaker 1 (01:19:22):
Go ahead.

Speaker 4 (01:19:23):
I'll start with an obvious one.

Speaker 22 (01:19:24):
What is Jackson's status right now?

Speaker 11 (01:19:26):
And what do you know about him?

Speaker 20 (01:19:27):
He's getting the MRI right now, you know, obviously it's
real scary having that same hamstring injury to the same leg.
We're hoping that it's something he can come back from soon.
We have no idea when that would be. He's just
getting out of the tube right now. We'll have somebody

(01:19:48):
look at it. Yeah, could be devastating.

Speaker 11 (01:19:55):
Great first question, thank you, That was actually be my question.

Speaker 1 (01:20:00):
So I'll just move on to just how happy were
you with the way that your guys responded after that
first came out and set that tone.

Speaker 10 (01:20:08):
Yeah, we talked during the week.

Speaker 20 (01:20:09):
One of the things we made a point of, or
maybe the main thing we talked about, is, you know,
promise me you'll be ready the first pitch when the
bell rings.

Speaker 1 (01:20:20):
You're ready.

Speaker 20 (01:20:20):
You don't get a couple of rounds to figure out
whether or not you want to fight. Be ready in
the first round. And I thought the guys were were
certainly ready. You know, there was things that go unnoticed,
but you know the Perkins ten pitch base hit. Perks
saw twenty seven pitches today. You know, those are the

(01:20:43):
uncommon things that you're looking for. Perk's not a guy
where you're thinking all that much offense, and he was
that type of thing, you know, and Freddie was obviously fantastic.
Him and William navigated a really good lineup, a hot lineup,
a lineup it's confident experience, a ton of you know,
all stars, a ton of whatever, and you know they're

(01:21:06):
a great, great club. And I thought Freddie and William
did a great job na a game.

Speaker 1 (01:21:11):
Staying in a second.

Speaker 13 (01:21:16):
Murph with how many strikes, Boyd throws. Kind of like
we talked about earlier today, was the idea for guys
to go up there at least ready to swing early
in the count if they needed to.

Speaker 22 (01:21:25):
I think that's I don't know where people are coming
up with.

Speaker 5 (01:21:28):
We don't swing early in the count, but.

Speaker 1 (01:21:33):
You know, you got to.

Speaker 20 (01:21:33):
You got to get your pitch, as they say, you know,
and Boyd was coming back on short rest, and you know,
we hit some balls where they weren't and we were ready.

Speaker 11 (01:21:44):
And I love the Abbats.

Speaker 22 (01:21:46):
You know, early late we got a little but their
their relief pitching did a great job.

Speaker 19 (01:21:56):
Murph.

Speaker 25 (01:21:56):
The atmosphere today, You've been at a lot of Brewers
Cubs games where it's kind of fifty fifty. I don't
know if you knew what to expect today, but what
did you experience and did that impact.

Speaker 22 (01:22:05):
It seem fifty to fifty?

Speaker 20 (01:22:06):
For sure?

Speaker 22 (01:22:07):
It felt like a home game. You know, it definitely
felt like a home game.

Speaker 20 (01:22:10):
They were difference makers, and our guys feel that, you know,
they're not that experienced, and there's a lot of young
guys doing it for the first time, and they carry
with them an awesome sense of responsibility. So to be
ready today was fantastic and the fans helped that. I mean,
the fans were just they were in it from the
first pitch, and yeah, that's rare. You know in the

(01:22:35):
when it's the Cub Series, usually Cubs have as many
fans as we have so or not maybe as many,
but they're very.

Speaker 1 (01:22:42):
Very loud, you know. That was that was pretty cool.

Speaker 10 (01:22:46):
I thought it was definitely a difference.

Speaker 6 (01:22:53):
Within that first inning, just knowing how defensively sound this
Cubs team usually is.

Speaker 25 (01:22:59):
What do you think of the way you guys capitalized
on that mistake from Horner.

Speaker 20 (01:23:03):
That's a tough ball, that ball spinning really funny off
you know, off the bat, and you know he's a
Gold Glove performer, so I think that's just the stroke
of luck or you know, it's the aberration. You're not
going to do that a lot. But he's one of
the best players in the game. He's one of the
best baseball players in the game. And uh yeah, you

(01:23:26):
got to have that sometimes to get a big leaders
extended inning. So that's how we've had to do it.
Did we Homer today?

Speaker 22 (01:23:32):
I don't think we home it today.

Speaker 19 (01:23:37):
What problem that you just mentioned the players carry an
awesome amount of responsibility. Could you expand upon that where
it comes from, what it entails.

Speaker 20 (01:23:47):
Yeah, I mean they've put this season together for themselves
and you know, they broke a franchise record for wins.
And everybody talks about recently in the last how many
years since eighteen we have won a playoff series? Well,
I bet you could count plus twenty teams in Major
League Baseball out of thirty that haven't won a playoff series.

(01:24:08):
But to be there every year knocking on the door
with you know, some of the limitations we have is
a credit to them and this new group, which was
you know, not that many returners and not that many additions.
This new group really stepped up and they they want
to They're responsible to each other, like, hey, I'll take

(01:24:31):
care of you, you take care of me.

Speaker 22 (01:24:32):
Today's your day, Tomorrow be my day. And that that
team thing, you know, has been evident.

Speaker 20 (01:24:38):
Now, that doesn't make us better than other teams, but
you know, I think other teams are probably doing that too.
But we've had a pretty good run of competing, so
we'll try to keep doing that.

Speaker 25 (01:24:51):
Hey, Marv, what was the concern level after the leadoff
home run. How did you feel Freddy responded in that
person inning? And then how does his approach change after
a six run personing?

Speaker 22 (01:25:04):
Pert? I was just talking about you man, big praise,
didn't I twenty seven pitches?

Speaker 19 (01:25:11):
Right?

Speaker 22 (01:25:11):
Twenty seven pitches?

Speaker 10 (01:25:12):
Huh? All right, you don't want to talk to me.

Speaker 1 (01:25:19):
What was your question again?

Speaker 25 (01:25:20):
So about was there any concern after the leadoff home run?
How do you feel he responded in that first setting?
And then how does it change when you put up
a six spot? How does the approach change as a
starting pitcher after that happens.

Speaker 22 (01:25:32):
It's tougher to pitch six to one than you think.

Speaker 5 (01:25:34):
You know, all of us can sit back and go, oh,
I had a five run lead.

Speaker 3 (01:25:39):
It ain't easy against a lineup like that.

Speaker 20 (01:25:42):
This guy battled, battled and made pitches over and over,
made pitches and him and William together work through this lineup.
That's a treacherous lineup. That seemed Freddy many times. You know,
those players have been over there playing together for you know,
a number of years, and they've been good last years.

Speaker 10 (01:26:01):
So it's like.

Speaker 20 (01:26:03):
For him to do that shows the competitiveness. But I
mean the leadoff home run that happens that bush kid
is he's one of the best hitters. He's got to
be one of the hottest hitters in the game right now.
I want to find for them, you know, I mean
want to want to move to get him in the roster.
And he's a great hitter, and uh yeah, we were fortunate.

Speaker 22 (01:26:24):
But one run doesn't beat you.

Speaker 11 (01:26:26):
But you know you don't.

Speaker 22 (01:26:28):
I think for Freddy it was a slap in.

Speaker 1 (01:26:30):
The face and then he responded the way you do.

Speaker 10 (01:26:35):
Take one more out of the dove.

Speaker 19 (01:26:41):
Murph.

Speaker 25 (01:26:41):
Can you say at this point, who would who will
start game two for you?

Speaker 20 (01:26:45):
I can't because we really got to get together and see,
you know, you just watch the guy go out there
on short rest and what happened to him. You you know,
you got to really work through this thing with the
off days and who's available and what's our best sequence
of doing things. So we'll gather up the pitching coaches
and I will gather up and and you know, finalize

(01:27:07):
our stuff.

Speaker 22 (01:27:08):
Maybe later tonight or tomorrow morning.

Speaker 10 (01:27:13):
Ran think sure, I share my.

Speaker 1 (01:27:15):
Pleasure, Oh man, I uh not just because I feel
I know Pat Murphy, but as a manager, I love

(01:27:38):
that dude. You don't tell them anything until you have to.
Don't say anything about anybody starting game two until you
absolutely have to. I love that. Welcome in Hunter, Bombguard
from American Family Field, Our Brewers Insider, a nine to
three Brewers Victory and Hunter a couple of things here.
Jumped out with what Murphy had to say. We'll get

(01:28:00):
to the game as well, But in terms of what
he just said about setting the tone early in a
ball game, I mean, again, I that's a philosophy and
a lot of people feel that you know that that
it is. It isn't tremendously important to some managers as
to others. For me, that's always been important to set

(01:28:20):
the tone even though it's a nine inning game. You
can still send a message. I mean I've been all
over that all the way back since Wow, since Alfonso
Soriano was hitting lead off home runs. I mean, it's
tone setting, and he was all about that preparing his players.
Are you ready to fight from the first pitch? I

(01:28:42):
thought that was awesome.

Speaker 26 (01:28:44):
Yeah, And like all season long, the players take on
what Pat Murphy says and they are lockstep with whatever
you know he is thinking for the club because they
know he has you know, their best interest in mind,
and boy did that come out today. And look, you know,
when that home run by Michael Bush went over the wall,
I was thinking, okay, that's that's the tone on the

(01:29:05):
cub side, and right, how do you respond? Well, they
obviously responded in a big way, and then Freddy Peralta's
shutdown inning was absolutely huge the following inning, and then
of course they were off to the races from there.
So again that mindset that Pat Murphy puts him in,
he's a different mindset, right winning tonight and then okay,
we have some days off, but how can I get

(01:29:25):
my guys to be ready right at the first pitch
in the first inning?

Speaker 1 (01:29:30):
You know, it's it may not have been the first pitch.

Speaker 26 (01:29:33):
For Freddy Peralta because obviously it took him a batter,
but hey, as he said postgame, it takes It's taken him,
you know a little while sometimes to settle in. He's like,
that's not the first time that's happened in my career.
And look, he was able to bounce back pretty easily.
It obviously was easier you know, said than done, so
to speak, because that's a tough lineup, as Murph mentioned,

(01:29:53):
but you know he was. He was right to rock
and roll after that home run. He got those three outs,
and then the offense is right to rock well, And
you could.

Speaker 1 (01:30:02):
Make the argument that it's worse than the Cubs scoring
no runs and then the Brewers put up a crooked number.
It's worse for the Cubs to get the run and
then give up a six pack of runs in the bottom.
It actually reversed itself. But I was with you. I'm like,
you have got to be kidding me. Okay, So that's

(01:30:22):
the resilient nature of this baseball team. And now the
Jackson surio information could be he used the word disaster
as a possibility, and I you know, who knows. I
don't know any insider information. Probably gonna have to wait
on news for that, but it certainly isn't a good

(01:30:45):
thing with Jackson.

Speaker 26 (01:30:47):
Yeah, it doesn't seem like it. And it's weird because
we got two different messages. Obviously, like you said, Murphy
used the words devastating, you know, and and disaster and
some of that. You know, it's scary, right he uses
those where its enturio comes in moments later and he's like, yeah, no,
I physically feel good. I feel like I'm ready to
go out and compete and you know, keep competing, is
what he said. And he said compared to last time

(01:31:09):
when he lugged out that triple coincidentally against the Cubs,
he said, you know, and that's when he heard his
hamstring the first time in late July, he said, I
feel in a much better position now. So like there
was a lot of positivity coming from Churio, and I
think a lot of it was probably, you know, trying
to talk it into existence, which I get right. I mean,
the look on his face after he noticed that he

(01:31:30):
had done something to that hamstring again when he ran
through first base, you could tell that guy was not
a happy camper, and so he's like, I was frustrated
in the moment, but I was able to you know
that now, it's it was more precautionary that they took
him out, and it made sense right there up by
a bunch at that point. So I think we do
wait till tomorrow and we hope that it's a positive report.

(01:31:51):
And obviously he's getting an MRI as well, so we'll
see what the diagnosis is there. But as we've known,
he has not looked you know the same since coming back,
he's still playing with that Heck, Freelick's playing with the knee.
Contrarast literally told reporters after the game that his hand
and wrist is still affected by that check swing. He's

(01:32:11):
probably still got the finger going. These guys are beat up,
but they're just powering through. But the problem with that
is also you do run wrong move and maybe you
could tweak something. So hopefully it's minor. Hopefully it's just
like out. All right, let's take him out and maybe
he's ready for Monday, but you know, maybe you skip
Monday and maybe he's back for Wednesday.

Speaker 3 (01:32:30):
We'll see.

Speaker 26 (01:32:30):
It's all speculation at this point. Well, no more tomorrow.
Murphy's gonna meet the media at two o'clock tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (01:32:35):
How about some happy news here, Hunter. It's weird bringing
you on, and I know we're a couple hours away
from the conclusion of this game, but to hear American
Family Field so quiet, now, what was it like? Because man,
it sounded like an absolute electric factory in there tonight.

Speaker 1 (01:32:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 26 (01:32:54):
Bryce terransaid, I heard the Brewers fans, I heard nothing else.
Pat Murphy said, it did not seem fifty fifty. It
was you know, it was it felt like a home game, folks.
That I mean, as you probably have discussed throughout the show.
You know, the the ratio was heavy Brewers and you know,
Pat Murphy, Bryce Terring, I mean everybody was pointing it out,

(01:33:14):
you know, after the game, about the atmosphere in here,
and it was. It was awesome when you get those
rally towels going, you know, ten minutes before the game,
when the national you know, TV broadcast opens with all
the crowd going crazy, and that just puts you in
the playoff mood. And then they had so much to
cheer for that place. I the place was going bananas
in that first and second inning, as you heard, and

(01:33:36):
it was it was an awesome atmosphere and just oh
my gosh, I mean like I just yeah, it just
and then it put the obviously the Cubs not only
on the field, but also in the stands on their heels.
And boy, I mean that was you talk about kind
of dreaming up a perfect start to a playoff series
against those guys.

Speaker 1 (01:33:56):
Uh, that is just about perfect.

Speaker 5 (01:33:59):
That was just elation with Brewers fans.

Speaker 1 (01:34:03):
Okay, And so here is here's a challenge, and again
this has something to do with personal economics of a
financial situation with our fans. But I would say, turn
the tables on this rivalry, turn the tables and do
what you gotta do. If you have the money, get
into Wriglar Field, Brewers fans, get into Wrigley Field for

(01:34:25):
Game three. Come on, now, turn that table around a
little bit. Make that an American family field. South. I
think that we were impressed earlier this year guys with
the amount of Brewer fans at Wrigley. Let's do it
again for a postseason game, because that certainly would make
a difference. All right. Freddie Peralta, Two things, real quick, Hunter,

(01:34:50):
Freddie Peralta's performance today just outstanding. He don't blink. He
was going to be your Game one starter. And that
was that. And I think you and I and and
pipe Bomb were in lockstep. That was Freddy and that's that.
And he performed and that's why. And number two, who
is going to start game two? In your mind?

Speaker 26 (01:35:10):
M that's a good question, Freddie. Yeah, he was the
game one guy and he showed it. I mean, that
guy's had been so good all season long. I mean, man,
oh man, it's just oh, it's just so good to
have that guy on your side. So a great job
by Freddy Peralta today. And then you'll go into game
two and I would think it's Preser. I know, there's

(01:35:31):
a lot of you know, yeah, back and forth, and
you know, Preser kind of hinted that, like he kind
of was like, you know, it would be because he
was talking about how he grew up as a Cubs
fan and things like that, and he you know, he
was talking about possibly pitching at regular field, and then
I was kind of like, oh, this was earlier in
the week, and I was like, oh, maybe he'd be
on the mound for Game three, but that I don't know,

(01:35:52):
that wouldn't totally make sense. Why would they have Kintana
not pitch Game three on the road, the guy who's
been there, done that. But if they feel like they,
you know, have a for any reason on game two,
a better chance that with Kingtana on the mountain, they
might go with it. I think it's either King Tan
or a priest. Maybe you have an opener situation. Maybe
I mean Robert Gassers on this roster, so it's possible

(01:36:15):
that he could be, you know, an opener type for
someone like a priest or or King Tana. But if
I were to say who I think is going to start,
I think it's gonna be Quinn, priest or on the Mountain.

Speaker 1 (01:36:25):
Game two.

Speaker 2 (01:36:25):
I agree with Hunter because I think that, you know,
the Judas Priester. Finally, his streak was snapped of the
games at Brewers won. He won every game since he
was an altar boy, and now he's father Quinn. I
think he's gonna come out screaming for vengeance in game two.

Speaker 1 (01:36:45):
Guys, really, but just something to think about on the
way out here. I know we got a couple of
minutes left here, but just really quick, do you think
weather might have something to do with it? In other words,
if you could check a forecast and find out which
way win is blowing out or in at Wrigley, would
that then not advantage a sinkerballer? If the win we're

(01:37:07):
blowing out for Game three in Wrigley, Hunter, do you think, yeah,
that's possible.

Speaker 26 (01:37:13):
I mean everything, That's why, you know, I think that's
partly why Merph's like, yeah, we got to just sit
down and look at everything and who's available and how
we want to play the rest of this series.

Speaker 1 (01:37:22):
How does game one.

Speaker 26 (01:37:23):
I know Craig Council told reporters after the game that,
you know, the results of game one, you know, didn't
have too much of an impact on how you manage
game two. I don't know about that, if that's totally right,
So you like, I feel like there's a little bit
of that. So now knowing you wont you know game one,
how do you look at this series and you've got

(01:37:43):
to win two more in the last four.

Speaker 1 (01:37:45):
You gotta you know, you gotta gotta.

Speaker 26 (01:37:47):
Win two, So you know, somehow, some way, and so yeah,
I think that can come into it. I think it's
just it. How guys are feeling can come into it. Obviously,
Kingtana's back and on the obviously, so he's good to go.
But I just again, I feel like you would be
in a really good spot. Priest's spend one of your
best pictures all year too, like he's been your second best. Yeah, exactly,

(01:38:11):
trust him to go out at home on Monday night
and get the victory.

Speaker 2 (01:38:14):
Yeah, I'm not making any choices based on the weather.
We've seen crazy things with this series, from no rain, rainouts,
you know, the sun out if you will, all that
kind of silliness I'm not playing any weather games.

Speaker 5 (01:38:28):
I still go Priester in in game two.

Speaker 1 (01:38:31):
In two. Okay, all right, very good, Hunter, great work,

The night before, she learned the unimaginable – that the husband she knew in the light of day was a different person after dark. This season unpacks Saskia’s discovery of her husband’s secret life and her fight to bring him to justice. Along the way, we expose a crime that is just coming to light. This is also a story about the myth of the “perfect victim:” who gets believed, who gets doubted, and why. We follow Saskia as she works to reclaim her body, her voice, and her life.
