Speaker 1 (00:00):
Thanks guys. Here with Ryan Braun ahead of Game five
tonight between the Brewers and the Cubs at American Family
Field in Milwaukee. Ryan really appreciate the time. We're really
excited for this winner take all game tonight. You know
you've been a part of, you know, a couple of
winner take off. Of course you go back to twenty eleven,
twenty eighteen in the NLCS in that one. But what
is unique about preparing for a game like tonight?

Speaker 2 (00:22):
Yeah, well, first, thank you for having me. I'm excited too.
I'm hype just like the fan base is. I have
a really good feeling about the game today. I think
I think the biggest key in winner take all games
and any sport is controlling your emotions. It's one of
the most difficult and challenging things to do is to
try to slow down your heartbeat, to trust your process,

(00:43):
you know, to believe that you've put yourself in the
optimal position to be successful, and then to not try
too hard.

Speaker 3 (00:49):
Right, all of us want to be the hero.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
We all want to come through for our teammates and
coaching staff and team and city, and so it's just
about really believing in your process, trying to slow the
game down, slow your heartbeat down, and not trying to
do too much.

Speaker 1 (01:03):
Yeah, and you know this team has been, you know,
really good at that, to be honest with you, with
just responding to adversity. It's a young team, but with
great veteran leadership as well. How impressive have you been
with the way they've just responded all season long and
just continue to compete and fight, and you know we
expect the same tonight.

Speaker 3 (01:20):
Yeah, it's been incredibly impressive.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
I think a group of young guys that have pretty
significantly outperformed any outside expectations. They continually come through in
big games and big moments against tough teams. I think
that they were battle tested in the regular season. You know,
they earned home field advantage, and as we've seen through
the first four games of this series, it is an advantage.
So I feel really good about the chances they have tonight.

(01:44):
They'll be at home, they'll feel prepared. You know, they've
played in some challenging environments, They've played in some big games.
I actually talked to Yelly earlier Bech Murphy, and both
of them feel really good about today. So it gives
me more confidence that I really like our chances.

Speaker 1 (02:01):
Love that absolutely and talking to Ryan Brown here on
the game, so Ryan, you know, you talk about the
impact that the fans have had obviously help the team
in the first two Cobs fans, you know, obviously showed
out at Wrigley Field. What you know, you know what
it's like to play in you know, an American family fielder
than Miller Park when that place is rocking. How can

(02:21):
you describe what that does to you as a player
when those Brewers fans are doing what they do in October.

Speaker 3 (02:28):
Yeah, the fans have a huge impact.

Speaker 2 (02:30):
I can't possibly overstate the impact.

Speaker 3 (02:33):
That they could potentially have in tonight's game.

Speaker 2 (02:36):
It's real, it's tangible. As players, we feed off that energy.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
You know, as a visiting team, it can be intimidating,
it can make it more difficult and challenging.

Speaker 3 (02:46):
You know, oftentimes the players will.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
Try to play it cool and say, oh, I didn't
notice the fans or I didn't notice that, you know.

Speaker 3 (02:51):
The energy in the ballpark. But you can It's real,
it's tangible. You know, our fans do.

Speaker 2 (02:57):
Such a fantastic job of coming out of showing up,
of being hyped and creating energy and you know.

Speaker 3 (03:04):
My message to the fans is that you can have
an impact on today's game.

Speaker 2 (03:08):
You can help will this team to victory, and we
need everybody to come out, be loud, be excited, be enthusiastic,
and uh, you know, leave leave the ballpark losing your
voice knowing you gave it everything you had because you
can actually make an.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
Impact, no doubt, and the team will do the same. Ryan,
really appreciate the time, and uh looking forward to tonight's
game and really appreciate it here this morning sounds good.

Speaker 3 (03:30):
Thanks for having me, Go Brewers
