Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, This segment is brought to you by Rollertown
beer Works. Now that's the brewery that Ben and I
are partners in up in Solna, Texas. And you should
know that this Thursday you can come hang out with
us the Ben and Skin Show from three to six
as we will be doing a live remote broadcast from
our very own brewery. Now we're gonna have Mueller Wag

(00:20):
you beef there and that is amazing. Oh my god,
those burgers so good, so good. And then of course
the beer is a flowing at Rollertown these days. But
we're gonna do something special as soon as our Now,
our show is gonna be really from three to five
thirty because there's MAVs pregames starting at five thirty. MAVs
are in Washington pregames right here on ninety seven point

(00:40):
one the Eagle. Then at six o'clock in the brewery,
we are gonna turn all the TVs on the mav game.
We're gonna turn the sound down and me and you
and our homeboys slightly biased, are gonna call the game
amazing in the brewery, just wild, and we're gonna have
good sound in there. It's gonna be fun. We're also
gonna give away two gets to a home game. We're

(01:02):
gonna have some other merch and stuff that we're gonna
give away. So if you've been wanting to have a
chance to go to a game, you can win tickets. Well,
we're gonna have so much fun. And man, I'm just
so happy with our beer lineup right now. I was
able to go Saturday and watch the UTA and m
game and there is so much badass beer to choose
from roller Town is crushing love it.

Speaker 2 (01:23):
Bring your fun friends who love the MAVs. Yea, give
me a fun fun MAVs night. Watched the show live
and then watch the entire MAVs game with us. But
you know, big thanks to everyone who's carrying our beer
right now. I was looking at some social media from
Marty Be's out there and oh yeah, yeah, yeah, Truckyard Dallas,
I mean some of the Nook. Yeah, there's so many
cool places that carry us. Good friend, fortunate son, fortunate son, sting,

(01:46):
they're everywhere right now. So grateful to everyone out there
who carries our beer. With your grocery store and you
got our cans at six packs. That's awesome. If you're
a bar restaurant. You got us on tap.

Speaker 3 (01:56):
Thank you. Yeah. Pluckers and Kane row so too. We
don't say them.

Speaker 1 (01:59):
And before we get to the big finish show, I
wanted to say something right quick. Every now and then
on our show, we'll talk about our homeboy bl he's
a probably number one ranked waiter. Probably he is the
number one, like the in the official rankings. But this
time of year there's a lot of upheaval. We don't
even know who's going to be in the twelve waiter
playoffs competitive market.

Speaker 2 (02:20):
Yeah that's fair, but pretty much regarded as the best
of the best.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
Now, he went to a lot of the same metal
shows I went to in junior high. We didn't know
each other. I mean, we knew each other, but we
didn't really know each other until later. But we find
out later we were at the same shows. So we
were talking earlier about ac DC coming to at and
T Stadium Stagium and that's going to be in April,
and I mentioned the Vey J. Malmstein show. Well, he

(02:44):
sent me this He was at that same show. It
was October eleventh, nineteen eighty five. Now, that would have
been fall of our freshman year in junior high. So
we weren't driving yet. Okay, there's a quick story of
something really awful that me and my dad did.

Speaker 3 (02:59):
Oh no, I talked my dad into doing it. So
you killed that homeless guy? Yeah, we had to.

Speaker 1 (03:05):
They used to live under the aqueduct over there aty
Reunion Arena. But anyways, Uh, so I had these I
had this little vial in these asthma pills. And you
remember a guy that we went to high school with.
He had his mom was from Turkey and so his
dad was American, his mom was or I think his
mom had married an American guy, so he was a

(03:27):
Turkish dude. His name was a Salon Dilber. Now I
believe Shelan went on to like work for the CIA
or something. He's like real smart guy or whatever. But
here's this junior high kid coming to America, trying to
adapt to American culture, and here I am dragging him
to heavy metal concerts. And so I told my dad,
I go, hey, man, let's prank Shalan. No, let's prank

(03:49):
the kid speaking English as a second language. So I said,
I'm going to give him these asthma pills and tell
them they're drugs. Oh, no, and then I want you
to come and search us. So I told him, I go, god,
that is pretty complex for a fifteen year old. And
so I go, I go, hey, Shelan, I need you
to hold this. These are some I'm gonna take these
later their drugs, and my dad will search me so

(04:11):
but he.

Speaker 3 (04:12):
Won't search you.

Speaker 1 (04:13):
So Slan goes, oh, and he's freaking out because he's like, oh,
my god, was this guy?

Speaker 3 (04:18):
And so he put him in his pocket.

Speaker 1 (04:19):
So my dad then comes out goes, all right, boys,
we're gonna go, but before we go, we gotta do
a we gotta do a check. He goes, empty your pockets,
and I look over at Shilan. He's freaking out, and
he reaches in his pocket and he takes his hands
out and he.

Speaker 3 (04:33):
Throws the drug the file over to the laugh.

Speaker 4 (04:36):
You know.

Speaker 3 (04:37):
My dad goes, wait a minute, what is that over there?

Speaker 1 (04:44):
Ports Chalan, And dude, Cilan is not selling me out either, really,
He's like, I don't know what that is, you know.
And so and then we just couldn't hold it back
any longer. But in hindsight, I was like, man, that
was a really mean thing to do.

Speaker 3 (04:57):
Is also the day he decided to get into the CIA.

Speaker 1 (05:00):
Yeah, he was way smarter than everybody else. But anyways,
that's what that. That was the show that we did.
It's a hell of a setlist. I just pulled it up.

Speaker 3 (05:09):
What he got.

Speaker 4 (05:10):
They opened a Fly on the Wall, which is not
my song, but that was the Fly on the Wall.

Speaker 3 (05:16):
Back in Black Dirty Deeds. You shook me all that long.

Speaker 4 (05:20):
I mean right out the gate. They you know, you
get to the middle, you kind of fart around. But
this in the main set was shoot the Thrill, Highway
to hell Sink the Pink, a whole lot of rosie
I don't know, and let there be rock. And then
the encore it was for those about to stree okay,
Hell's bells, Yeah, and the T n T and then

(05:41):
for those about to rock.

Speaker 3 (05:43):
What a great show. It's incredible.

Speaker 1 (05:45):
I mean I loved every second of it, and I
even loved all the Vay Momsteen wankery that went on
before it.

Speaker 3 (05:53):
You should see if Shelanel come back in ten we
want to take him to the show. Oh but right
now it's time for this. I don't think I really
want to go. Yes, it's good.

Speaker 1 (06:11):
Hey, you haven't seen me in thirty five years to
go see ac DC at at at the Stagium.

Speaker 3 (06:16):
No, I'm good, thanks pal. Okay.

Speaker 4 (06:19):
So A and M and Texas played for the first
time in fourteen years. What is that game? It was
Saturday night. I missed it and the game honestly was
not that competitive. No Texas wiped their butt, but.

Speaker 3 (06:32):
It was not there was.

Speaker 1 (06:34):
They kept it close scoring wise, even though it felt
like UT completely dominated.

Speaker 4 (06:38):
Maybe it was because it was following the eight overtime
thriller between the Latforms Giants, Georgia Bulldogs and Georgia Tech.

Speaker 3 (06:44):
Yeah that was great. I just openly rooting for Georgia
Tech for no reason.

Speaker 2 (06:48):
That was a strange year in college football where the
really good teams are losing or there's a lot of
close calls.

Speaker 3 (06:55):
Pardy Bam is out.

Speaker 4 (06:57):
We are now into a world where college football is
just a mini NFL and now anyone can kind of win.
It's kind of great. Twelve team playoffs is about to
be so stupid. SMU plays Clemson for the title game
on Friday Saturday, aren't they in no matter what? Yeah,
well I don't know about that. I think by Clemson,

(07:18):
I doubt it, but we'll see. So then you have
Saturday afternoon, you had Ohio State and Michigan Classic rivalry game,
big upset for Michigan. Well, the Michigan players go out
and they plant the flag on the Ohio State logo.

Speaker 3 (07:32):
Big fight happens.

Speaker 4 (07:33):
Fox leaves it there and shows you police are spra
pepper spraying players. Weirdly, Michigan players the only players getting
pepper sprayed, which is a little bit odd. Then you had,
you know, a couple other games security guards from that
team clearly or policeman kind of guarding the uh, you know,
the midfield, and that's now a thing. Well, Texas and

(07:57):
A and M play and Texas players go out to
midfield and they're about to put the flag down and
their coach is kind of starkesian, you know, he's had
to hit the bottle. Yet it's like, no, we're not
gonna do that. He starts pulling them away and doesn't
really allow it to fully happen. Now, a little fight happened,

(08:18):
but that's where it was going.

Speaker 5 (08:20):
I was just saying, I think we should allow this
to happen because it's rivalries, and if you're gonna be
all loud and proud about your rivalry, then we can
have a little fun on your logo, on your pressure.

Speaker 2 (08:36):
That's always I think back to uh t O Plant.
You know, whatever he was trying to do. What was
he trying to do?

Speaker 3 (08:43):
Do a dance?

Speaker 2 (08:45):
And George t had to blow him up in the
idea you have to. It's so disrespectful. It's over the
top to play a flag in the middle of your field.

Speaker 1 (08:51):
I know, remember when Kyrie got lit up for stepping
on Lucky or whatever that is.

Speaker 3 (08:58):
It's stupid.

Speaker 2 (08:59):
But you know, I was shocked at how little control
the coaches had in that Ohio State one and Michigan
one because I'm like, we're we're just allowing this to happen.

Speaker 3 (09:09):
The coaches can't stop this from happening.

Speaker 2 (09:11):
And I wondered, are they scared of upsetting the players,
because the players will just hit the portal and leave
if they're too.

Speaker 1 (09:17):
Disciplined or I don't I don't know if they If
they try to discipline the players, the players will slide
up in their daughter's DM and ask them if they
want to ride that hole one That was one story run.

Speaker 3 (09:27):
It's a precedent that's been setting now. Uh yeah, I don't.
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (09:31):
It's not that big of a deal to me, but
I respect the players who take it to heart. Like
there was that one number thirty three kid for Ohio
State the defensive end and the interception of the game.
He was pissed, was pissed at he ripped the flag
off the flag.

Speaker 3 (09:44):
They're kind of putting put on all the show.

Speaker 4 (09:46):
But Gus Johnson and Joel Clatter sitting there is like, oh,
this is just such an awful thing. It was such
a great game. I was like, the score was thirteen ten.
It was not a great game, okay, and there's a
lot of punting. But don't act like you would be
saying that if you were watching Tech Tech playing North Texas,
you wouldn't be. You're saying it because it's two storied
schools who've made a big deal about their rivalry, and

(10:06):
because that happens, Oh, it's just an awful thing.

Speaker 3 (10:10):
Like, no, it's really not.

Speaker 4 (10:11):
It's awful that pepper Spray gets involved. Yeah, that part
was all need to happen.

Speaker 3 (10:14):
But it's great that they were wanting to rumble in
the middle of the field. I loved it.

Speaker 5 (10:17):
I'm just saying if you think you're badass enough to
have a rivalry, then you need to be able to
handle it.

Speaker 3 (10:22):
I just think in fairness and I know we gotta go.

Speaker 1 (10:25):
I just didn't think it's impossible in this day and
age for a broadcaster to go. I don't really care
if they fight or not. You know they'll they'll lose
their gig. They have to really care and be emotional.

Speaker 3 (10:35):
They could have stayed silent, and they kind of did
when they were fighting.

Speaker 1 (10:38):
All Right, we think we're gonna have some incredible tickets
to give away tomorrow. We got lots of stuff to
get into, so make sure to be back tomorrow. Until then,
I'll never forget the time Rivalry Week happened. Kat jumped
up on his grandstand and he said.

Speaker 4 (10:50):
Let's just keep our ears to the ground and see
see who we can come up with.

Speaker 3 (10:53):
It was very inspiring.

Speaker 1 (10:55):
Christina k Ray Ray Ray is next right around ninety
seven point one, going, you're but I gotta take a poop.
