Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, coming up next, you guys ever make nachos
at home?
Speaker 2 (00:09):
I heard quit efing with I showed your dog ruling
it be, except with similar free pursuing it puddled out
shaw shank through the sewer.
Speaker 3 (00:20):
Kid.
Speaker 2 (00:20):
Now we're chilling at the Eagle. Yeah, we're doing it
free A clock.
Speaker 4 (00:24):
On the dock.
Speaker 5 (00:25):
Got a habit for my house? Or go status?
Speaker 2 (00:27):
How we're starting to get crattic shows that enough multiplied
like a rabbit two the inzon out, crank it up,
beat the habit. I'm on hang out with my friends,
rocking it on the ladio.
Speaker 6 (00:42):
My boy Skin.
Speaker 4 (00:46):
Talking on the radio.
Speaker 2 (00:48):
It's time to do this. Walk all we go, Oka
creaning up all them, Yes, Hello and welcome everybody.
Speaker 1 (01:04):
This is the world famous Ben and Skin Show ninety
seven point one The Eagle. I'm Ben Rogers, Jeff Skin
Wade out on vacation this week, but here instead as
always the great Kevin k t Teardown Turner and Christina Kray.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
Little baby guard Bray. I thought I saw a.
Speaker 1 (01:23):
Text from Skin earlier and he was responding to someone
who would reach out to us because we were in
the news today, and he said, Hey, I'm in California,
and I was like, I didn't even know that.
Speaker 2 (01:34):
I thought he was going to Colorado.
Speaker 7 (01:35):
I think Colorado is in the future, Okay, right, right,
but I don't really know.
Speaker 1 (01:41):
That tease though that we like to lead off the
show with the teas and Christina so she finds him,
and that one was he actually teased, do you guys
ever make nachos at home? And I'm surprised that didn't
get our contract fully canceled by iHeart, but some suits
heard that were.
Speaker 2 (01:58):
Like, interesting, I wonder if that would work on the
Lone Star.
Speaker 1 (02:01):
The Nacho talk Now, that segment in itself ended up
being really good because what he was talking about, he
was totally vindicated. It was the idea that when you're
eating nachos, the sloppiest way to make a mister pile
a bunch of chips on a plate covered in cheese
and all.
Speaker 2 (02:17):
The fixings, the fixens and the fixens, and then it's
all sogg You know.
Speaker 1 (02:23):
What he was talking about is perfectly distributing the nacho
toppings one nacho at a time.
Speaker 7 (02:29):
Yeah, individually wrapped nachos. Yeah, And he was right, it's
the play. It's more work, but it's the play.
Speaker 2 (02:34):
It's the play.
Speaker 7 (02:35):
If your time crunch, though, you just put the chips
on the plate.
Speaker 1 (02:37):
Well, those are just called tasty chose. Oh oh, you've
changed it. No, those are just tasty shows. If you
throw them together, if you make them proper, they're nachos nachos.
Speaker 2 (02:46):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (02:46):
So we are in the news today and I imagine
there are a lot of lone Star ninety two to
five listeners tuning into this going what this magic is,
what we get you bet your asset is.
Speaker 2 (02:57):
And we're very excited about this.
Speaker 1 (02:58):
And if this is your first introduction to the Betted
Skin Show, well we'll walk you down that path.
Speaker 2 (03:04):
A little bit.
Speaker 1 (03:04):
If you're somebody who's been listening to us on ninety
seven one the Eagle, thank you for that. Just to
recap on our journey, Skin and I are unique tandem
for hosting a radio show because we're actually lifelong friends.
Speaker 2 (03:18):
We were born and raised here.
Speaker 1 (03:19):
We met in Richardson in nineteen eighty two at the
Huffines Recreation Center and we've been friends ever since. We've
gone on many great adventures together and we've been a
lot of different radio stations. We were at k Star
forty nine the TV station like in the year two thousand.
That was like one of the first ones we had
a TV show very quickly before we had anything.
Speaker 2 (03:39):
Yes. We were then on Fox Sports eleven ninety. Tom
Gribble was our boss. Oh wow.
Speaker 1 (03:45):
We then went to the Ticket around two thousand and two.
We were there until around two thousand and eight when
we took our first full time job in radio, going
to Live one oh five to three, Yes, where our
show led into the Russ Martin Show. Three months into that,
they flip formats and turned it into the Fan.
Speaker 2 (04:02):
That was a fun station.
Speaker 7 (04:03):
Before the change. I don't know why they didn't just
keep it.
Speaker 2 (04:05):
It was so great.
Speaker 1 (04:07):
It was so much fun. It was all just talk,
you know. It's like it was like every show was
like Howard Stern kind of you know. I like stations
that are like all talk all day too. Yeah, sometimes
I think that's a good idea every once in a
while to try.
Speaker 2 (04:19):
It was fun.
Speaker 1 (04:20):
It was so much fun, and a lot of people
You're referencing The Freak, and a lot of people were
talking about Live one oh five three and recreating The
Freak as a version of that, and that's kind of
what we envisioned with that whole thing. But so we're
at Live one oh five to three, it turns into
one O five to three The Fan. They bring in
this evil program director who we didn't want to work
for anymore. We begged out of our contract. They let
us out of our contract and Mark friedol Friedman rest
(04:41):
in peace from the Ticket. Of course, we went to
Bergner High School where we went. He rescued us. We
went to work with Randy Galloway and a lot of
talented people at ESPN, and that was when the Mavericks
were going to you know, the Mavericks won their championship,
the Rangers went to back to back World Series. We
had a great time, and then ESPN decided to get
out of the owned and operator radio business. So then
(05:03):
we went back to the Fan and that was right
around twenty thirteen. I think we were there twenty thirteen
to twenty nineteen. And that's when you joined us, right
k t Yep. May of twenty thirteen. I was part
time at the Ticket, and yeah, went and met with
you guys, and I knew what the deal was. New
York were going over there, and I think I think
some of the guys at the ticket, I think Bob
and Dan, since you asked my dear or something, we well,
(05:24):
we asked, who is somebody over there that's super talented
that's not getting enough carries that we could steal and poach,
And they gave us a list of thirty seven people,
and you were in the top thirty five.
Speaker 2 (05:35):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (05:35):
I was getting so few carries that I had a
job at Dick's Sporting Goods and at an oil company
right across the street from the building we're in right now.
Speaker 1 (05:42):
But the comforting bosom of the ticket is so intoxicating
that you had a hard time even coming to join
us full time, just because it's hard to leave there.
Speaker 7 (05:49):
Yeah, your brainwashed into thinking that Norm's gonna die, and
Norman will never die. That's right, he won't and he can't.
Speaker 1 (05:56):
So then we come to the Eagle right around twenty nineteen,
twenty twenty, right out of twenty twenty, right when the
pandemic's happening.
Speaker 2 (06:02):
Yeah, we quit.
Speaker 7 (06:03):
October of twenty October of twenty nineteen, we quit, okay,
And that's when Christine k Raid, little baby corn Brett
Ray joined us.
Speaker 8 (06:10):
Yes, yeah, and I was, I was. We were all
so excited and then COVID happened. We're like, well, that's
not great for you know us, but we still had fun.
But yeah, you guys kind of saved me. Like KT
I just wasn't being utilized, and I honestly was about
to move to some smaller station out of state just
because I wanted to be on the radio. I was like,
(06:30):
I want a full time job in radio because again,
like KT working, I was working three or four part
time jobs. It's miserable. So yeah, and then you guys
saved me, like do you do you want to join
our show on a rock station, The Eagle. I was like,
that's my dream job. Absolutely, I'm there, so yeah, yeah, And.
Speaker 1 (06:48):
You were carrying Soroy in a celebrity relationship. I mean
both badass celebrities, but we were huge fans of Mike,
so Roy, well, of course knew of your greatness and
to have you join our show is amazing. You're an
actual rock guitar player, like you shred guitars and a
Nirvana cover band, like really awesome.
Speaker 7 (07:05):
On The Eagle six to ten every night.
Speaker 1 (07:07):
That's right, that's right, and so saying, by the way,
that's right, staying so then we're at the Eagle. Then
they decide to flip it into the Freak, which was
one of the coolest things we've ever ever ever been.
Speaker 2 (07:19):
A part of.
Speaker 1 (07:20):
And then they changed it back to the Eagle, and
we've been here ever since. And we had an opportunity
recently where I mean very recently. This came together, like
within the last sixty days or so, just this opportunity
to think about any of the other iHeart stations that
where there might be an opportunity, and it was there
just happened to be one at Lone Star ninety two five.
(07:41):
And we're huge admirers of the station. Obviously, it's a
legendary station. Goats like Bow and Jim, you know what.
The clubhouse that they've built there is just amazing. John Dylan, Redbeard,
we go way back with Jeff K. I think skin
and Jeff K like we're friends in the late nineties.
Speaker 7 (08:00):
Think they were going to raves and stuff like thirty
five years ago. I would be it'd be wild to
see Skinning JEFFK at a rave. Now that wouldn't be.
Speaker 1 (08:09):
Here right well, And so it basically the announcement was
we're going to play the announcement for you next, So
if you missed it, you'll hear it next. But this
is major, major news for the Beninskin Show. And yeah,
we're moving to mornings on lone Star ninety two five
starting on August tenth. Coming up next the big announcement
as it aired today on lone Star.
Speaker 2 (08:29):
That's happening next right here on the Eagle.
Speaker 1 (08:31):
Before we get there, want to say thank you to
our friends at Orchard O R char D Orchard dot com.
If you own your own home, go to Orchard dot
com right now in your home address, your email address.
Speaker 2 (08:39):
Bada being bada boom.
Speaker 1 (08:40):
Orchard's going to send you a free, no strings attached
appraisal letting you know exactly what your home is worth
right now.
Speaker 2 (08:46):
Why wouldn't you want that?
Speaker 1 (08:47):
I mean, usually you'd have to go pay to get
an appraisal like that, but in this case, you're going
to get it absolutely for free. And what if your
house ends up being worth one hundred grand more than
you thought are two hundred grand? That might change your option.
So it's good just to go get the free appraise now.
While you're there at Orchard dot com, they're gonna say, hey,
how did you find out about Orchard dot com. Be
sure to select radio and then for now our radio
(09:08):
station k e g L again, go get the free
appraisal right now at Orchard dot com. That's O R
C H A r D. When you go to Orchard
dot com. How did you find out about US radio?
Select our station k e GAL. Thanks a lot.
Speaker 7 (09:22):
All right, So Ben's Skin Show ninety seven to one
The Eagle A skin is out on vacation this week.
It's Ben Rogers, it's me, Kevin Turner, It's Christina Ray.
And in the first segment we were telling you about
the big news. There was a press release all that stuff.
Basically next week the Ben and Skin Show is moving
to mornings on lone Star ninety two five.
Speaker 2 (09:42):
Six to nine am. That's wow, man.
Speaker 7 (09:44):
A question I've been getting is will the podcast stay
the same? Yet It'll be the same Ben and Skin
Show podcast feed. None of that will change, so you
still get the podcast. We always love it if you
listen to the podcast within twenty four hours if you're
going to go that route. But the plan is still
the same. The full show, the any segments, all that
will be posted. So six to nine am next Monday
morning on lone Star ninety two five. Now I have
(10:09):
I think what we should do here is play the
audio of the announcement this morning on ninety two five
in case you missed it, because if you're listening on
the Eagle, you probably listen to the Eagle a lot.
And again we're gonna be on the air doing our
same show this week here on the Eagle as well.
Anything that comes up that you need to know about
about our move to lone Star ninety two five, we'll
tell you about that throughout the week.
Speaker 2 (10:30):
So you know, love the Eagle.
Speaker 7 (10:32):
We're moving next door to ninety two five literally, so
make sure you add that function on your iHeartRadio app
as well. But here's the audio this morning of the
big announcement.
Speaker 4 (10:44):
We've been telling you a lone Star ninety two to
five as a major announcement today at eight am, well
guess what time it is. Starting next Monday, August tenth,
lone Star ninety five will have a new.
Speaker 2 (11:01):
Morning show to start your day.
Speaker 4 (11:07):
They've been connecting with North Texas listeners for twenty five years.
We're trying to announce the vent and Skin show will
be taking over mornings on lone Star ninety two to five.
Speaker 2 (11:32):
Ah, yes, thank you, mister in the minute getting for
three minutes. Yeah, it was. It's so funny. We've had
fun with those daily Roth sounds forever.
Speaker 7 (11:41):
My favorite thing though, yeah, I mean the daily roll
sounds are great. My favorite thing is the studio clapping drop. Yeah,
like the small studio clapping draw. It's so it's dumb.
It makes me laugh every time. So I wanted to
put that in there. I don't know, that's just something
that I wanted to add into that.
Speaker 2 (11:59):
It's great.
Speaker 7 (12:00):
So that played this morning, and uh, yeah, this is
all happening, and it's like might might be weird for
some people.
Speaker 2 (12:06):
And if you like are.
Speaker 7 (12:07):
Listening now and you're a normal listener to nineteen five,
like there's a obviously a big history in ninety five.
I think it's interesting that Christina was an intern for
Bo and Jim back in the day. I mean we
all worked at Bow and Jim for a little bit,
not as much Jim, you know, because he retired, you know,
in that phase where we were probably like early twenty twenties.
But I remember like on the Freak doing mornings and
(12:28):
you're just hanging out with Bo in the mornings, you know,
and so we've known Bow and Jim for a long time.
Christina interned with them.
Speaker 8 (12:35):
Yeah, and it was honestly, and I when I applied
for it, I was like, because I grew up listening
to them, Bo, Jim and Randy, I love those guys.
Speaker 9 (12:43):
I was like, you know what, just let me just
try it.
Speaker 8 (12:46):
And then I was just shocked when they actually Randy
reached out to me and said, hey, we'd love to
have you for this semester.
Speaker 9 (12:51):
That was twenty twelve.
Speaker 8 (12:52):
I but Randy taught me everything I know in radio, everything.
And yeah, I love those guys. And I'm sorry you'll
didn't get to meet Jim because Jim was just always
so upbeat. He had the best laugh ever. I love
all of those guys. So yeah, that was a dream
come true. And I can't believe we're going to be
in that same time slot.
Speaker 1 (13:12):
Yeah, crazy, it's crazy great. And Bo's always so kind
to us. Yeah, nice to us. And of course Anna
and Ao great folks as well. And Ao one of
the nicest teammates we've ever had. And that's the way
we've always looked at it. Like you may think that
the Eagle and Lone Star and Kiss FM and all
these things are all these different stations, and they are,
(13:33):
but it's also part of one family here.
Speaker 2 (13:35):
We're all employees of iHeart.
Speaker 1 (13:37):
And so like I'm looking outside the Eagle studio right
now at the lone Star logo, like it's literally three
feet away from us, And so it doesn't feel like
any of these other moves. And you know, our show,
and when I was talking about all those moves from
Fox Sports leven ninety to the Ticket to the Fan,
to ESPN to the Eagle and all those things, our
show has still never been fired. Now I'm sure this
(13:59):
will be We'll get fired from this job. Absolutely is
going to happen. But typically when you change stations, you
change stations and then you have to sit out a
non compete and depending on your contract, it could be
ninety days or six months or a year, and you're
not allowed to tell anyone where you're going. But because
this is all part of the iHeart family, we get
to tell you this is where we're going. We're going
(14:21):
to Morning six to nine, We're going to lone Star
ninety two five. It is DFW's best rock. We're excited
about that, we're excited about doing mornings. We've never done mornings.
Speaker 2 (14:30):
In our life.
Speaker 1 (14:31):
Now they'll be promoting it on lone Star ninety two
to five as well for this entire week, so it's
a truly unique situation. Now we also have we want
to celebrate our best moments on the Eagle. So You've
created a poll.
Speaker 7 (14:42):
Right yeah, up at kt fun tweets on Twitter and
probably other places, and I've shared it in a lot
of different places.
Speaker 2 (14:48):
You can vote.
Speaker 7 (14:49):
It's basically a list of some of the greatest moments
our time on the Eagle. Okay, so twenty twenty till now,
weed it out the time on the Freak, so the
time on the Eagle, so our best moments, and I
want our listeners to vote, and then throughout the week
we'll kind of have a countdown. Friday's entire show, we'll
just be a countdown of our best moments from the
Eagle as voted on by our listeners as we kind
(15:10):
of wind up our time on the Eagle and have
a weekend and prepare for next Monday at six.
Speaker 1 (15:15):
Am, Day five, and I would say this, I know
we're up against this, so we're gonna get out of here,
but man, we're grateful for our time at the Eagle.
I grew up with an Eagle, you know, sticker on
my door as a kid growing up here in Richardson.
It's been an absolute honor to be on these airwaves.
And thank you to all of you who have allowed
us to entertain you in Afternoon Drive. And I hope
you'll come with us and listen to us in the
(15:36):
mornings on lone Star ninety two five. And we'll be
talking about this all week, but we're gonna go ahead
and get the show started now because there's nothing we
like more than Mario Lopez news. And he's involved in
a controversy. We'll talk about it next before we get there.
Thank you to our friends at Reliant air Conditioning Man.
Now's a perfect time to call Reliant AC and let
them do a tune up on your air conditioning system.
Speaker 2 (15:55):
Look, these hot summer temperatures are here. It is a
scorcher man.
Speaker 1 (15:59):
It is incredibly hot outside, and you know that's going
to do a number to our air conditioning systems. It's
going to make them work harder and work overtime. You
need to do a tune up on your air conditioning
system just to make sure it doesn't overheat. It's like
an your engine if you don't change the oil in
your car ever, and you go on big road trips.
Speaker 2 (16:14):
Man, that's what it's like here.
Speaker 1 (16:15):
So in Texas, you know, with our air conditioning systems
working so much, so call Reliant air Conditioning.
Speaker 2 (16:21):
Let them come to a tune up.
Speaker 1 (16:23):
It's eight seven seven your Hero eight seven seven nine
six eight seven four to three seven Jeff Stewart, good
friends of ours and their whole family over there. Good people,
love the way they do business, and they're going to
be coming with us over to lone Star.
Speaker 2 (16:35):
So we're very excited about that.
Speaker 1 (16:37):
But hey, reach out today, set up a tune up
eight seven seven your Hero for the greatness of Reliant
air Conditioning. All right, this is the last week of
the Bin and Skin Show on ninety seven point one
The Eagle. Starting on next Monday, we're moving to mornings
(16:57):
on lone Star. Ninety two to five will be on
for six to nine am. If you listen via the podcast,
nothing changes for you. But if you want to listen
on your way to work or taking the kids to school,
we now have that option for you. The Bit and
Skin Show moving to morning six to nine am on
lone Star ninety two five starting on Monday.
Speaker 2 (17:14):
But right now start for this intentertein it's entertainment in by.
Speaker 7 (17:21):
I can't believe that I'm leading entertainment headlines with a
story about Mario Lopez, but that is happening now. Mario
Lopez is an interesting figure. I mean he gets famous
off saved by the Bell, and then has seemingly stayed
in Hollywood and not aged a second. He looks the
same as he did when he was playing a high
school kid at Bayside and saved by the Bell. Now,
(17:42):
Mario Lopez for many years, I mean he's hosted so
many things, entertainment shows. He has stayed active, He's had
a good social media, He's found ways to stay with
what he's done. Interviews too, about changing his voice to
sound more white because he thought that would help him
stay employed at places. Because I have a clip right now,
I'm gonna play view of him going fully Latino, Okay,
eating tacos.
Speaker 2 (18:02):
It's authentic.
Speaker 3 (18:02):
I like it.
Speaker 7 (18:03):
If you start off with some preho less, get some
guess from fresh schools already kind of crushed, get a little.
Speaker 2 (18:08):
Chip action just to you kind of warm up, right, here.
I usually got that little but I didn't.
Speaker 7 (18:13):
Have He's kind of okay, and I always thought I
just thought he was like overdoing that, and then someone
at some point find an interview of him, like he goes, no,
that's who I am. It's just like I made an
effort to like work on changing my accent a little
bit when I was doing entertainment Tonight or whatever show
he was on imber Eric Nadel of the Rangers saying
he had a New York accent and he worked on
(18:34):
changing his accent. That was advice that I carried, like
into college and moving out of college, to try to
not sound so country.
Speaker 2 (18:41):
I can't.
Speaker 1 (18:41):
I think you still sound remarkably country. Hey man, I
may when I saw you wearing them Rocky mountains.
Speaker 9 (18:48):
He can't help it.
Speaker 2 (18:48):
Yeah, you can't help it. Sometime the country just come
on out.
Speaker 7 (18:51):
If I go have a weekend back home with my family,
I do come back and notice that I'm a little
bit slower, a little bit more twenty yeah, a little
bit so.
Speaker 2 (19:00):
Mario Lopez is.
Speaker 7 (19:01):
In the news today because he had a post where
it's it's okay, it's first of all, it's Ai. It's
big Ai it's corny AI. It's the AI that like
you can just tell, and it's him, and it's labeled
I can't take my niece anywhere. Now, I'm gonna play
you the fifteen seconds of audio and then we'll explain
what's happening in this fifteen seconds.
Speaker 2 (19:25):
I can't take her anywhere. Oh my god, look at
you so good. You're a mess. The mustard.
Speaker 10 (19:37):
So at the.
Speaker 7 (19:38):
Dodgem and she's eating. She takes two hot dogs, one
for each hand, giant hot dog, and then crams them
into her mouth and mustard starts splattering everywhere, and then
he says, I can't take you anywhere, and then it
zooms in on her face and she's rubbing the mustard
all over her face.
Speaker 9 (19:55):
It's so weird.
Speaker 2 (19:56):
It's so gross, in a weird and oddly sexual. How
old is she?
Speaker 1 (20:02):
That's another problem, roughly hard to tell, niece, Well, you
just said the words sexually, so let's go ahead and
pin this on you.
Speaker 2 (20:11):
What age do you? Because I haven't seen it yet.
She looks like she's college aged. Okay, now I have
seen it, but I was protecting myself.
Speaker 7 (20:16):
Yeah, I can say if you said, hey, this girl's
fifteen or you said she's thirty four.
Speaker 2 (20:21):
I wouldn't fight you on either one of them. God, Yeah,
to me, this didn't bother me.
Speaker 1 (20:27):
It is weird, It certainly is weird, but this goes
This kind of looks like the older AI where they
showed Will Smith eating pasta, and it just looks fake
because it just looks like there's way more realistic AI now.
Speaker 7 (20:40):
Like in the Odyssey when they turned the man into pigs. Yeah,
how do you make that work?
Speaker 2 (20:46):
Yeah? Spoiler but uh weeks yeah, uh yeah.
Speaker 1 (20:52):
It just didn't bother me because I imagine she's younger
and he's just doing her favor, giving her some social
media love.
Speaker 2 (20:58):
She probably made the video. He's probably just being a
good on.
Speaker 7 (21:01):
Maybe maybe it's just being a good unk.
Speaker 8 (21:03):
Yeah, but why that, like there's popcorn, you could be
eating popcorn.
Speaker 2 (21:08):
Oh oh, you're saying it's just strange. I don't Why
is it strange? Why is it strange?
Speaker 8 (21:15):
Why is she have two hot dogs? Why is she
eating two hot dogs? And why is it focused on
at the end to make it look like it's unnecessary.
Speaker 1 (21:24):
I'm not prepared to comment until we get a confirmation
on age. Yeah, but I appreciate your boldness for going there.
Speaker 7 (21:29):
Hey guys, people are calling him creepy, like this is
not a story of people like didn't pop this into
my timeline, you know, and people are like all these
like Aulis are like, Jesus, what a creep dude.
Speaker 2 (21:39):
This is not just Ai. It's just Ai.
Speaker 7 (21:42):
But you just wouldn't do that with a family member.
Speaker 2 (21:45):
Unless the family member did it and asked you to
post it. Yeah, okay, so Ben defends all right.
Speaker 1 (21:54):
Coming up next the audio bubble Bath. We have more
drama involving an announcer. We'll talk about it next. Before
we get there. Thank you to everyone who has been
riding now to the Chalk Tak Casino and Resort in Durant, Oklahoma,
and we appreciate you supporting our partners out there. We
did our show there for Friday, had an absolute blast.
They always say, get away to it all at the
Chalk Talk Casino and Resort and Durant just ninety minutes
(22:15):
north of downtown Dallas on Central Expressway. Just passed through
Sherman across that Oklahoma Texas border and there you are
at the Chalktaw Casino and Resort in Durant, and there's
just so much fun to have out there. I mean,
there's great restaurants. They have over twenty restaurants. You can
sip on drinks any of their twenty one bars. They
have that incredible swim up pool, which is bad ass
(22:35):
in hot temperatures like this. And then they have more
than seventy four hundred slot machines, one hundred plus table games.
It's a great place to watch sports. They have massive
one hundred foot screens at the league located at Sky Casino.
We're always posted right outside the district with all those
cool restaurants. There's high energy bowling there, epic arcade battles,
(22:55):
and even six movie theaters to make the fun NonStop.
At the chalk Taw Casine known resort in Durant, Oklahoma,
it is the Ben and Skin Show ninety seven one
the Eagle No Skin. This week, the big news of
the day, we're moving to lone Star ninety two five.
We're mowing down the hall actually like down the doorway
right across the hall sort of to lone Star ninety
(23:18):
two five six to nine am mornings starting next Monday.
Speaker 7 (23:22):
The announcement hit this morning, and yeah, we're looking forward
to that. We'll still be on the Eagle all week
this week, doing our show as usual, but then moving
it on along to lone Start ninety two five starting
next Monday morning.
Speaker 1 (23:33):
Yeah, and for the Eagle listener, for those of you
who wanted more music, well you're gonna get more music,
and so that's a good news.
Speaker 2 (23:40):
I don't know why I got Italian.
Speaker 1 (23:42):
That's a good news for you, but that's good news
for you if you want more music. And for those
of you who like our talk show, well we're going
to be doing mornings on lone Star ninety two five.
But if you listen via the podcast on the iHeart app,
nothing changes for you.
Speaker 2 (23:56):
Yeah, it was essentially a trade.
Speaker 7 (23:58):
Bennon Skin shows Me, Kevin and Christina six to nine
am on lob Star ninety two five starting next Monday,
The Eagle gets more rock. Christina will be staying at
the Eagle of six to ten pm as well. Yes, yeah,
for all our Christina stands out there. Yeah, you know,
and there are many, There are many. Christina also at
(24:21):
a band. You've got an Orange Peel Sunshine a rock
show tomorrow night.
Speaker 8 (24:25):
It's actually gonna be Nirvana. So it's Oatmel Pizza tomorrow nights. Yep,
we start at eight o'clock and it's a short set,
so I know it's a school night for some people already,
So we'll be done by eight forty five.
Speaker 7 (24:37):
Tulip support Worth Worth oat Mill Pizza. Yeah, not Orange
Peel Sunshine Oatmel Pizza.
Speaker 1 (24:42):
Once you learn about her and actually care about her
as you do that, don't just look at her when
she talks to you, Listen.
Speaker 2 (24:47):
To what she said.
Speaker 7 (24:48):
Okay, let's do the content.
Speaker 2 (24:49):
Now you're welcome.
Speaker 7 (25:00):
The TV color analyst for the Baltimore Orioles is a
guy named Ben McDonald, and he gets caught off side
sometimes on not knowing things that we all know at least.
For instance, his play by play guy is a guy
named Kevin Brown. He's kind of fun and he likes
music and stuff. This is Ben McDonald not knowing who
Kevin Brown's favorite band is.
Speaker 2 (25:20):
I'll be honest, I never heard of Blink one eighty two.
Are you kidding me? Sounds like a fighter jet to me.
Let's get out of here.
Speaker 7 (25:26):
You don't know Blink one eighty two, all right? Didn't
know him, didn't know anything about the band Oasis.
Speaker 3 (25:33):
Could I just take one moment to just say something
before we've done. Sure, it's just a very special day
for me and for a lot of friends of mine
and a lot of friends of ours across the pond,
because of their reunion after sixteen years of Oasis. They
are back today, Gallagher, They're back.
Speaker 2 (25:50):
Is this a movie or is this a band? I'll
confuse you know it's a band, Flyball to Center. You
gotta know it's a band. I talked about Oasis before,
I've heard you talk about it. But so it's a band.
He did a movie? Makes sense.
Speaker 9 (26:04):
He said it was a reunion after sixteen years.
Speaker 2 (26:08):
It's not like this is some guy who just like
lives in his apartment alone all the time. He's out.
Speaker 7 (26:13):
He sees people. Every day he goes to the ballpark.
He interacts with people.
Speaker 1 (26:17):
Yeah, but if it's not in a you know, it's
not in a baseball score book, how's he going to
know what happens.
Speaker 2 (26:22):
Here's another time that he got stumped.
Speaker 3 (26:24):
He hasn't been the most thrilling game of the year,
not exactly like nine inch Noise at Coachella levels of compelling.
Speaker 2 (26:29):
You'll be heresy to suggest that, But it's scoreless. It's time.
What did you just say? Yeah, what was it?
Speaker 11 (26:36):
Did you say Coachella's would just like to see Coachella's
was like a jello shot or something.
Speaker 3 (26:43):
That's a music festival out in California.
Speaker 7 (26:45):
Okay, so here's the new one. It's amazing. Okay, it's
amazing that you just wouldn't know that. I mean, just
say you've always heard of Coachella. Maybe the nine inch noise.
I thought he was gonna comment on that. That one
makes sense? Yeah, yes, okay, but like whatever, even Coachell. Okay,
but blink when I did two. In a way, it's
just like everyone you should probably know that, here's the
(27:09):
new one. It's not so much about him not knowing things.
It's just a question mark about this guy's life.
Speaker 3 (27:14):
You think you use the same amount of product in
your hair as Brandon Marsh does.
Speaker 5 (27:18):
No way for me.
Speaker 11 (27:19):
It's just a bar so a bar so Yeah. I've
never used shampoo, not once ever. It's just a bar
so open the hair. You have never used champoo ever
in your life?
Speaker 10 (27:30):
Ever?
Speaker 2 (27:30):
Now, not when you were a kid. No, just a
bar soap in the shower. That's all I need. Do
you use shampoo?
Speaker 10 (27:36):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (27:37):
Why doesn't everybody else speak. I don't know. It's just
a bar soap. It's simple.
Speaker 11 (27:42):
All you need is a bar soap cleans it perfectly,
and we just spend all that money on shampoo.
Speaker 2 (27:47):
I think, come on, now, it's not that big.
Speaker 8 (27:48):
I think this is.
Speaker 2 (27:49):
Weirder than Jim not having a chicken bag, never use shampoo.
Jim's eighty years old. Ever had a chicken wing? Now
that's got to be weirder than not ever using champoo.
Speaker 6 (27:58):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (27:58):
I think I think us bar soapa they are at
the shipoo looks weird.
Speaker 2 (28:03):
Propously, So that's the question.
Speaker 7 (28:05):
What's weirder not having a chicken wing until you're eighty
or never using shampoo in your life?
Speaker 2 (28:11):
Goye, I think it's shampoo.
Speaker 9 (28:13):
Yeah, I think so too. And it's only what like
two blocks? Is not that expensive?
Speaker 2 (28:18):
God, it's like going.
Speaker 7 (28:19):
Out money I've saved over the years just using the barsoom.
Speaker 2 (28:22):
That's all you need.
Speaker 12 (28:23):
Far.
Speaker 1 (28:23):
No, I don't think sports broadcasters make you tune in
except for those guys.
Speaker 2 (28:27):
I would tune in for that every single time.
Speaker 7 (28:29):
Oils guys are great.
Speaker 2 (28:30):
Christina, what's coming up next in the cookie jar?
Speaker 6 (28:32):
Yeah?
Speaker 9 (28:32):
Well, speaking of sports.
Speaker 8 (28:33):
I've discovered the best sporting event ever and we'll talk
about it next on the Eagle.
Speaker 1 (28:38):
All right, big thanks to all Eagle listeners for welcoming
welcoming us into your lives all the way back to
like twenty twenty, allowing us just to be a part
of your daily routine. We've enjoyed it so so very much.
Almost all of that has been in Afternoon Drive. We
used to come on right before Afternoon Drive, right before
the Russ Martin show. And it was announced today that
(29:01):
this is our last week on the Eagle. Starting next Monday,
our show will be on from six to nine am
on lone Star ninety two five. So this is our
week to say goodbye to you. And the good news
is for those of you who want more music and
less talk, there's now going to be way more music
in the afternoons on the Eagle. So congratulations to you
for that, if that's what you're looking for. But we
(29:22):
certainly have not taken this for granted. It's been an
absolute honor to be on these you know, prestigious airwaves,
and so thank you for this opportunity to entertain you
guys over all these years. But starting Monday, we'll be
doing mornings on lone Star ninety two five. But right
now it's time for this.
Speaker 5 (29:38):
It's time to pop the grease your hands in. It's
grabatory from Christina's cooky jars.
Speaker 8 (29:57):
Still over the weekend we had the World Dog Surfing Championship.
Guys come on the tenth one and so yes, I
absolutely have video for you KT.
Speaker 7 (30:16):
Thank you.
Speaker 2 (30:18):
Surfing totally in Let's go so again.
Speaker 8 (30:22):
This has been going on for ten years now. You
can see him in his little pink life jacket. It's
just one dog, but they have all kinds of dogs,
small breeds, big breeds, and they they judge them on
how long they stay on the board, the size of
the wave, and they're confidence the.
Speaker 1 (30:42):
Detail, have no idea. Do you think those dogs know
what they're doing? Are they just like, oh, he placed
me on something again and it's moving.
Speaker 7 (30:51):
Yeah, I bet it's hard to keep him. They have
to be highly trained to like have the attention span
to stay on it.
Speaker 9 (30:57):
I think yeah.
Speaker 8 (30:57):
And I think some of them actually enjoy like, look
at that guy, that's so cool, this is nice. He
loves it skateboards skateboards as well. You have you seen
dogs riding skateboards.
Speaker 7 (31:08):
No, that sounds awesome too, but.
Speaker 8 (31:11):
No, these these dogs genuinely enjoy it. I have no
idea how you actually train them on there. I was
reading a story of how someone was like when he
was a puppy. I brought him out just to see
how he would handle it, and he loved it. So
they just kept going back. So I think that's how
most of these end up. And that's the winner right there.
The winner of this year's World Dog Surfing Championship is
a Labrador named Rosie. She got the Spirit of Surfing Awards.
(31:34):
She looked more confident than the pug.
Speaker 1 (31:37):
Didn't look like he wanted to be there, but his
life jacket had a shark fin on the back of.
Speaker 7 (31:41):
It, which is they're so cutey had The lab though,
looked pretty confident. Yeah, they probably don't want to fall
in the water too. I would imagine they're actually trying
to stay on.
Speaker 9 (31:52):
Yeah, and that's why the.
Speaker 8 (31:53):
Owners are right there with him in case that actually happens,
because that would be terrifying. But what's great about this
is they also have peta options going on every year
and then fundraising for local animal charities, so.
Speaker 2 (32:05):
Nice that's awesome. And Katie, you're against adopting pitts, right.
Speaker 7 (32:08):
I mean, I think it's whatever fits for you and
yours certain circumstances. Like I'm not a big believer in
telling people, hey man, you better go have some kids,
you know, And that's really what having a dog is
having a kid.
Speaker 2 (32:18):
Yep.
Speaker 1 (32:18):
I've just met some of your more aggressive stances towards
just not adopting them.
Speaker 7 (32:22):
I did a cat poop problem though I had cats,
So just sneak under my fence. You can go drop
a deuce in my backyard and like, why they'll do that?
How do you get rid of them?
Speaker 6 (32:33):
Yeah?
Speaker 8 (32:33):
I don't know, because I have cats and I have
two dogs, and I still have Like there's a cat
that stays under my car every morning I walk out,
it runs out, just trying to cool down.
Speaker 9 (32:43):
I don't know, So I'm letting it do his thing anyway.
Speaker 8 (32:45):
So grabbing a bad day, just look up the World
Dog Surfing Championship. Watch those videos. We're gonna talk about
William Shatner real quick. He is ninety five, I believe,
and I told you guys not too long ago. He's
got a heavy metal album coming out at some point.
He hasn't told us the release date just yet. But
(33:07):
also he and a band will be playing the riot
Fest in Chicago in about a month. And then over
the weekend he let it slip that they're doing something else,
and this was on CNN.
Speaker 2 (33:18):
His band set to play at riot Fest in Chicago
this fall. And then and I'm doing the one in
the desert in the spring. Oh, the one you're doing.
You're going to do Coachella half hour in Coachella and
heavy metal.
Speaker 6 (33:34):
My daughter was like, there's.
Speaker 2 (33:39):
Wife. That was his daughter?
Speaker 8 (33:40):
Okay, but yeah, William Shatner will be doing heavy metal,
like a thirty minute set at Coachella. And I don't
know if he was actually supposed to say anything because
they haven't announced any of the bands playing, and.
Speaker 7 (33:52):
The kids are dying to go see Shatner.
Speaker 9 (33:54):
Yeah, let's go see William Shatner. Just heavy metal music.
Speaker 2 (33:57):
How's he going to contain that news once he has
there's no people.
Speaker 7 (34:01):
You said, that's an unknown album?
Speaker 2 (34:02):
Really state too. Shouldn't they probably get on that?
Speaker 9 (34:05):
Yeah, you would think, I mean to have a the
name of it?
Speaker 1 (34:08):
What the f is?
Speaker 2 (34:09):
Heavy metal? It's so good? Yeah, fantastic.
Speaker 1 (34:13):
There you have it, William Shatner and Doug surfing only
from the Wickedly Town and talented Christina carry a little
baby corn bread Ray. We got training in bed coming
up at four thirty, a very weird food review, and
a dilemma for a fantasy football league. But coming up
just a matter of minutes. What are the MAVs doing?
They've made a move. We'll talk about it next before
we get there. The summer heat wave can wear all

Speaker 7 (35:09):
Bets skin Show ninety seven to one. The Eagle. We're
giving away a pair of tickets to see three eleven
and the Dirty Heads. That's going to be August twenty
fifth at Toyota Music Factory. A little bit later in
the show, we'll give those away, so make sure you're
listening for that. The big news for us today, we're
going to lone Star ninety two five starting next Monday
morning six to nine am, so we will be leaving
afternoon Drive going to morning Drive right down the hall
(35:32):
lone Star ninety two five. We'll talk a little bit
about more about that in the five am in the
five pm hour, the five am hour, we will be
waking up in the five pm hour, but we'll be
on the Eagle for the rest of the week. And
just wanted to let you know that in case you
have not heard the news. More on that in a bit.
Right now, let's do this.
Speaker 5 (35:53):
Now, this around the sports kg FU twins as all.
Speaker 7 (35:59):
The five o'clock man. I want to tell you about
something Jerry Jones said that I caught my attention. We'll
play that for you. But the Mavericks made a move
by extending Najing Nausea Marshall three years, fifty two million dollars,
just kind of adding on to his current deal because
he was going to be here for another year. What
do you think about that?
Speaker 1 (36:20):
Yeah, I was surprised by this because he like twenty eight.
I thought he was twenty eight, I believe. Yeah, So
you know, I think they've been going so young. But
he is a He's a great piece to have because
he can do a little bit of everything. I wish
he was a slightly better three point shooting three point shooter,
but he kind of does everything. And he's one of
(36:41):
those dudes who, you know, Skin has talked about this,
he's real, Like you don't there are certain guys that
you can talk trash to and or that bow up
or whatever, and it's just pretended.
Speaker 2 (36:52):
It's all show. He's one of those dudes that you know,
eats nails and.
Speaker 1 (36:56):
It'll meet you at the bus without the cameras being
there and whip your ass like he's the real deal.
And his teammates love him. He's a really good defender,
he's you know, got good side. So everything about it
kind of makes sense for the type of team building
they're doing. But it's been weird because there's a juxtaposition
between all the guys are Cooper Flag's age and they're
around twenty, and then there's Kyrie Irving and he's thirty four,
(37:19):
and there's really not a lot in between. I mean,
there still are some guys, like I don't know what
they're gonna do with PJ or Gafford. There could still
be some moves to be made, but I don't know.
This This made me wonder if they're going to try
to be more competitive right now.
Speaker 7 (37:32):
Yeah, and you know, we're at the Hatemaker Network, which
a company that we have. We do deeper dives into
sports and stuff like that on some of the shows.
And I just show this morning with Slightly Biased that
you can go watch later if you'd like. And Slightly
Bias is a big MAVs expert for those who don't know,
and his take on it was, Naji Marshall's a really
(37:54):
great player at nine million dollars, but at eighteen million dollars,
he's good. He's like, he wasn't trying to poopoo the
signing or anything. He's like, I understand everything they're doing
in the process, but it is a little bit of
a like, wait, so he's gonna make eighteen million dollars
the next three years. It's just a little different. It
makes you feel differently about the player. Remembers something our
friend Brian brought us always told us was you like
(38:15):
certain players until you find out what they're making right.
Speaker 2 (38:17):
And value is important in these types of things.
Speaker 7 (38:22):
But you know, also they do need I mean, Kyrie's
is obviously a leader type of guy, older leader for sure.
Cooper flag can hold it down. Like I'm not worried
about any chemistry types, but it's great to have those
types of guys in there, for sure.
Speaker 2 (38:34):
I wonder if.
Speaker 1 (38:35):
Cooper Flagg like wanted him too, Matt maybe you know,
because that all this gets around to keeping your superstar happy. Yeah,
and maybe all of his teammates like, dude, you better
not let this guy get away.
Speaker 7 (38:47):
The question for me is what are they going to
do with Klay Thompson because he's owed like seventeen million
dollars and there was you know, some rumors of the
weekend that the Miami Heat are just waiting on the
Mats to buy my amount. If I'm the Mavericks, I
don't owe Klay Thompson anything. Like they did pull the
red carpet out from underneath him when they traded Luca,
you know, and makes Clay's life harder. But the Mavericks
(39:08):
should wait and try to get something back, any type
of trade something back, even if it's you know, draft
picks or whatever. They should not just buy him out
because he's Klay Thompson. No, like they need the roster spot,
but like they also need shooting and NAUSEI Marshall does
not give you any shooting, so you need the shooting.
I could find a place for Clay to be in
(39:29):
my six through ten rotation next year.
Speaker 1 (39:32):
Here's the thing too, they could play chicken with any
of these teams that want any of these guys. Yeah,
like teams that are coming after Kyrie. They're like, no, no, no,
why would we trade him now. If we're going to
trade him, we'd tradehim at the deadline after he restores
his value, shows he's healthy and it is dominating, or
he's playing so well that your team's actually better than
you thought and maybe you're contending even faster. Maybe you're
a legitimate team this year. So there's no reason to
(39:53):
rush in anything now. And that goes for Clay as well.
I agree with you don't rush out there to trade
him now for nothing, get something back for him anything.
Speaker 7 (40:01):
Yeah, it seems a little interesting. We'll see what happens, though.
It was kind of weird that that kind of felt
like that came out of nowhere. The Maverick's just making
a move.
Speaker 2 (40:08):
I think because of time.
Speaker 7 (40:10):
I would like to save rangers trade deadline stuff for
Tomorrow's Okay, let's do I'm just looking at the clock.
Speaker 2 (40:16):
We'll say it.
Speaker 7 (40:17):
We'll do that tomorrow, Sure, we'll do it.
Speaker 1 (40:19):
Coming up next in trending, in Ben, I got the
weirdest food review I've ever seen. Next, this is the
world famous Ben and Skin Show. We made a big
announcement today. This is our last week on ninety seven
one The Eagle. It's been an absolute honor to entertain
you guys and be a part of your daily routine
since around twenty twenty. And it was a different station
back then, and it's a different station now, and we
(40:41):
have so enjoyed this being in afternoon drive with you
on this iconic radio station. We're walking literally right across
the hallway to another iHeart station, lone Star ninety two five.
We're super proud, excited to go to those airwaves and
you know, a legendary radio station in itself, you know,
Bow and Jym, massive parts of building that into the
(41:02):
greatness that it is. And so it's an honor to
go to those airwaves as well. And we've never been
on in the morning. So starting next Monday, our show
will be on mornings six to nine on ninety two
five on lone Star ninety two five.
Speaker 2 (41:14):
But right now it's time for this.
Speaker 10 (41:16):
He's interrational, quick triggered, nuclear overreactor. He's a masterful storyteller
who consistently finds himself drowning in a sea of awkward.
Speaker 1 (41:27):
It's time for no trundy in Ben Man. I love
food reviews on Instagram. I don't know what it is,
but I stop down and I watch them. I mean,
there's there's the weird, the weird ones where it's not
even a food review but feelers you're eating huge sums
of food, large amounts of food, and their.
Speaker 2 (41:47):
Mouth is right on the mic for whatever reason. I
know it's weird. I dig it.
Speaker 1 (41:51):
But you know, also food reviewers, there's a lot of
good food reviewers, like our buddy Shane reviewed that is
a big one here in Dallas Fort Worth, and you know,
go to the place. They sit there in their car
and they eat something. They're like, all right, I'm gonna
give this a nine out of ten or three out
of ten, whatever it is. Well, you guys have not
heard this yet, and there will be there's some cussing
in it, so just be prepared.
Speaker 2 (42:12):
There will be some leaps in this.
Speaker 1 (42:13):
You might have to act fast and bleep. But this
is one of the weirdest food reviews I've ever seen. Now,
this is a guy who just is in a sweaty shirt.
He looks like he does I don't know a lot
of hard labor, and he's enjoying just two mediocre looking sandwiches.
They're actually little burgers, I think, and some cheetos. And
(42:34):
there's a little girl in there, his little daughter hanging
out with him while he's shooting this. And it's just
odd and everything about it is odd. And then it
has a weird twist ending you'll never see coming.
Speaker 2 (42:45):
Hey, y as crazy, you're telling you back with another
food review. We got some gray oled hamburgers, I.
Speaker 12 (42:51):
Greeled them, I got some pickles, I got some Hali
pino chios.
Speaker 2 (42:59):
Wanted to pick park.
Speaker 6 (43:02):
Someone burger daughter burds I get him like chicks.
Speaker 7 (43:06):
Six on the pickles on the pickles, which is Hamburger pickles,
like mburger slice pickles.
Speaker 2 (43:12):
He said, oh wait, hold on, hold on, stop.
Speaker 7 (43:14):
So a cat, a little cat just tried trying to
crawl up on the bed and he swats the cat away.
Speaker 2 (43:20):
He's smacking that cat around.
Speaker 1 (43:22):
And that's not a euphemism, like that cat keeps trying
to jump up there, and he's just a kimbabeman Tumbo's
it swats it away.
Speaker 7 (43:28):
He's also wearing like was it Jason or Freddy Jason?
Jason wore the hockey mask. He's got Jason's sweatpants. Yeah,
from Friday the third.
Speaker 13 (43:37):
Their nightmare.
Speaker 7 (43:38):
I get Friday thirteenth flip flops and again the blue
sweat sweaty shirt.
Speaker 2 (43:42):
Yeah, I get it, Chiff, like I I gave chips
an eight. Those are great. Trying to a Yian bun
hamburg mine.
Speaker 11 (43:51):
Yeah that's good.
Speaker 2 (43:56):
Some lady in the backs yellowed at someone else.
Speaker 12 (43:59):
H y out.
Speaker 8 (44:00):
I give it a ten.
Speaker 2 (44:01):
I rag on myself.
Speaker 14 (44:02):
I did pretty damn good tonight.
Speaker 7 (44:04):
Hey hey, you guess what you know what pile.
Speaker 2 (44:09):
Pedophile? What what she's saying? I don't know, but he says,
f a pedophile, which is a great stance to have
where we all have that dance. But why why is
that going to food review? Out of nowhere?
Speaker 9 (44:26):
She sounds like the little kids from Talladega Knights.
Speaker 1 (44:29):
Yes, and someone's in the background yelling at some get
your fat ass over here and non no no.
Speaker 7 (44:34):
It feels like they probably have like ten kids.
Speaker 2 (44:36):
I don't know. I don't know what's happening, but it's
the weirdest food review ever.
Speaker 7 (44:41):
Right, yes, okay, I want to see what she says again? Okay,
he just had the chip here. Those are great chips,
Valipino cheddar.
Speaker 12 (44:51):
She says, je.
Speaker 2 (44:54):
T get a chip like I, let's try the murders.
Why and bone hambarked, no condiments and no cheeses in here.
Speaker 5 (45:04):
It's just playing.
Speaker 7 (45:04):
Really, he's got a brag on himself. And then the
girl says something, I give.
Speaker 2 (45:18):
It a rag on myself. I did pretty damn good tonight. Hey, Hey,
you guess what you know what? Piles don't pedophile?
Speaker 6 (45:28):
What is that?
Speaker 1 (45:29):
She says, something about pedophiles reoffend. I don't dead pedophiles
don't reoffend. Maybe she said pedophiles don't reoffend.
Speaker 8 (45:38):
Yes, you need to add captions to the videos, right,
Is that not the weirdest food review?
Speaker 2 (45:47):
Strange?
Speaker 7 (45:48):
All the comments are not. They're glossing over the pedophile
thing and they're like, hey, don't touch the cat like that.
Speaker 2 (45:56):
It's the weirdest food review ever. God speed ever that. Yeah,
but we agree with the sentiment, so congratulate on that.
So coming up next, it's the Today Game.
Speaker 1 (46:05):
It's the only segment of the show that won't be podcasted,
and that's next on ninety seven point won The Eagle.
Speaker 2 (46:10):
Major news in the world today.
Speaker 1 (46:12):
And if you saw Dallas, Texas TV, then you saw
us in the headlines. The Beent and Skin Show is
moving from ninety seven to one the Eagle to lone
Star ninety two five. We'll be doing mornings on lone
Star ninety two five starting next Monday.
Speaker 2 (46:25):
This will be our last week here in The Eagle.
And it has been badass.
Speaker 1 (46:29):
What an absolute honor to be on these radio waves,
the same ones that Russ Martin helped build into being
an absolute juggernaut. We'll be going over to another badass
radio station here in the iHeart family. Lone Star ninety
two five Bow and Jim have helped grow that to
be into a monster and it's an honor to be
part of the iHeart family. And we're literally just walking
(46:49):
across the hallway, so we're still keeping it in the family.
But we're gonna be on mornings lone Star ninety two
five and if you're an Eagle listener who's wanted more music.
Speaker 2 (46:57):
Well we got that for you. That's what's gonna happen.
Speaker 1 (46:58):
There's gonna be more music here and the Eagle, and
then we'll be doing our talk show and lone Star
ninety two five from six to nine am starting next Monday.
Speaker 2 (47:06):
But right now, it's stuff for this Cowboy.
Speaker 3 (47:11):
Surprise.
Speaker 7 (47:25):
Yeah yeah, yeah, Okay, so today we finally get serious
because the pads are on, all right, Well, no more
the underwear Olympics and dogs flopping around. Let's get serious here. Okay,
but we can't get serious because Jerry Jones has gotten
the headlines of Cowboys Camp.
Speaker 8 (47:41):
He is.
Speaker 7 (47:42):
He does this every year. He sits down with every
all the local news teams for their one on one
and the one with Fox four got something that was
a little interesting because they're asking him about the curtains.
Are you finally gonna like, can we put a stop
to this when you have three twenty five home games
in October and the sun's peeking through and you know,
being in everyone's eyes, the fans eyes being a problem.
Speaker 2 (48:03):
Can we just put curtains up? And he might have
changed his tone. You're not thinking about the curtains though, Well, do.
Speaker 6 (48:10):
You know something thinking about it and doing something about
it or two things for you.
Speaker 13 (48:14):
If you think about it, you could do something.
Speaker 6 (48:15):
Well, but I think about it, it's hard to tell
that time of the year because the sun's not the
same this time of the year that it is in
the fall, and that is you get on into the
sun changes and the angle of that sun changes from
September through the year year around. But as we look
at it, I liked some of the effects of the tinting,
(48:38):
and so we're given that a thought.
Speaker 2 (48:42):
Tinting.
Speaker 7 (48:43):
Okay, first of all, complete bs. We have to call
this about the sun and the time of the year,
because they have events there all the time, and we
know that that they go and they put curtains up.
If they're having the monster trucks there, they put the
curtains up so the sun didn't hit the Monster truck
driver in the eye that the guy who's driving Bigfoot,
the grave Digger, the World Cup. Yeah, they use it
(49:08):
for concerts that start a little bit early. They use
it for college football games, they use it for high
school games. It's there, It can be used, and it's easy.
It is not a long process. You slide it over.
Speaker 8 (49:20):
It is not a big He is acting like we
needed no months ahead of time, the exact time the
sun's setting, like no, Jerry.
Speaker 2 (49:27):
But no, he did say for the first time ever
that I listening to how the sense and.
Speaker 6 (49:32):
So well, we're we're given that a thought.
Speaker 7 (49:36):
Okay, I'm gonna play this fully.
Speaker 6 (49:37):
But as we look at it, I like some of
the effects of the tinting, and so well, we're we're
given that a thought.
Speaker 7 (49:46):
He's some of the effects of the tinting, the tinting
of it, which is what this isn't making any sense,
but we're giving some of it a thought. That is
the first time he's ever given it a thought, because
he's always been defying about it.
Speaker 2 (49:57):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (49:57):
So I'm wondering because last at their opening press conference,
he was giving the vibes of and I think it's
why he started stirring the pot about making a trade,
and we might add I think it's because he was
starting to give a little bit of that. I realized
that the micro trade hijacked our season. I realized that
me mostly wanting Eberfluce in here. Although plenty of people
(50:19):
who are on board with Ebra Flush as a coach.
But I think he's kind of realized, you know, what
what happened last year is kind of my fault, or
I play a big part of it.
Speaker 2 (50:28):
Let's maybe let's step out.
Speaker 7 (50:29):
Because he said I'm embracing the newness and all that stuff,
and I think he is kind of understanding that.
Speaker 2 (50:34):
So I think that what might this might be about.
Speaker 1 (50:37):
I love it because it's this idea that you can't
teach an old dog new tricks. Appears to be an
old dog learning new tricks and give him credit for that.
This appears to be him saying, all right, I'm realizing
some shortcomings that I have looking at. It's rare billionaires
don't admit that they're wrong about anything. Yeah, and I'd
like to see if he really does something about this.
I've never seen this work to their advantage. I've only
(50:58):
seen it be in ceedee lamb's eye or hurt the
cowboys in some way. I never see it help the cowboys. No, No,
And he's always used like.
Speaker 7 (51:06):
It should help us we play in it more than
anyone else. Well, no, it means your player's eyes are
dealing with it more than anyone else, is what that means.
It doesn't mean it's helping you more than anyone else.
So I don't buy into like he's changed or any
of that stuff.
Speaker 2 (51:19):
He is who he is. I don't know, man the whole.
Speaker 1 (51:21):
Yeah, I see that, but but look what he's Look
at what he's allowing to happen with Christian Parker, and
but he's excited about that.
Speaker 2 (51:28):
He didn't have to. They were so bad on defense.
He had to. He didn't have to. True, he could
have ran in so got ways Phillips out of retirement.
Speaker 1 (51:37):
I'm just saying, dude, uh, you know billionaires, the few
that I've ever interacted with, I think they're the smartest
people ever, and they're it's hard to tell them anything.
Speaker 7 (51:47):
And it counts like I see how much more money. Yeah,
he's but he sounds like he's.
Speaker 2 (51:51):
I don't know. I fall for the banana of the
tailpiper every year though.
Speaker 7 (51:54):
Maybe it's just you know, let's get the pads on,
you know, yeah, this is all BS us hit someone, Yeah,
but be careful and they'll get hurt.
Speaker 2 (52:02):
What's your favorite down? I love third Down, guys.
Speaker 1 (52:05):
Coming up next, it's the weekly weekday update, and the
big news involves us.
Speaker 2 (52:10):
That's right.
Speaker 1 (52:10):
We are moving to lone Star ninety two five and
it's making big news and we'll talk about it next
right here on the Eagle. Before we get there, I
want to say thank you to Randy Parrish. I talked
to him on my way into the studio today. He
was really excited about our move and he's going to
be joining us over there at lone Star ninety two five,
and hopefully all of our partners come with us over
there and to our morning show next Monday. We start
(52:31):
six to nine am. And just know hail and high winds,
big storms at Dallas Fort Worth every year. And what
happens is if it displaces shingles on your roof, then
it means that water could be getting into your home.
It could rot your wood, it could lead to mold,
it could lead to major financial issues. You don't need
water getting through your roof. That's why it's important to
get a roofer up there to make sure you're good
to go. Don't trust the dudes going door to door
(52:53):
because that's a huge risk for homeowners. There's no licensing
for roofers in the state of Texas. It could literally
be anybody knocking on your door. Trust our guy, Randy
Parrish Parish Roofing Solutions, small family owned business. If you
call right now, his wife will answer, or he'll answer.
Let him come out, just check your roof. He's not
going to try to sell you a roof if you
don't need one. That's the difference. Call Randy right now.
(53:14):
Two one four two two seven eight four eight eight.
That's two one four two two seven eight four eight eight,
or visit Parishroofing Solutions dot com.
Speaker 7 (53:23):
It's Ben Skin Show ninety seven one. The Eagle Skin
is out this week. It's Ben Rogers, Me, Kevin Turner,

on the Eagle. Why do I say still well because

featuring veteran news anchor kg fun Tweets gave.
Speaker 7 (53:46):

and really in Texas and throughout the nation. In fact,
this has become a bit of a global story. And
I know this because I got it in my iHeart email.
Anytime there's big world news, I get it in my
iHeart email. Really, we made your iHeart email. Would you
like to hear what this says?
Speaker 2 (54:05):
Yes?
Speaker 7 (54:06):
iHeartMedia. Dallas for Worth announces the Bin and Skin Show

for Worth announced today that the Ben and Skin Show

Speaker 2 (54:46):
I'm very insured in what happens to her, But let
me just fake interest in you.
Speaker 7 (54:49):
Known for their long term friendship, quick wit, and authentic conversations,
the duo has built one of the most recognizable local
brands in North Texas, alongside Christina kray Rain.
Speaker 2 (54:59):
Yeah with us, Yes, let's go.
Speaker 9 (55:02):
Thank you guys, what an honor.
Speaker 7 (55:04):
And Kevin KT Turner thank you.
Speaker 2 (55:09):
Yeah, I mean we're still saying.
Speaker 7 (55:11):
I still have some talks to do.
Speaker 2 (55:12):
With Oh, this is huge, this is great. We're all
four going, yeah, this is awesome.
Speaker 7 (55:19):
Goes through.
Speaker 2 (55:20):
I have some quotes in this.
Speaker 7 (55:22):
I think you're interesting.
Speaker 2 (55:22):
Okay, you what are your No? No, not me. I
was not asked.
Speaker 7 (55:27):
Do you still think there are some contract things I
had to get back to me about.
Speaker 2 (55:30):
I'd like to get a quote from you before the
segment's over.
Speaker 13 (55:33):
What an incredible opportunity to join the legendary Loan Star
ninety two five, said Ben Rogers. Skin and I grew
up here, and we built our careers here and raised
our family here. Now to be able to call Loan
Start ninety two five home is truly in honor. All right,
let's see. Okay, that's a good Ben impersonation.
Speaker 7 (55:50):
Skin's on vacation, so they I guess they reached out
to him. This is the exact right fit for us
and what we love to do on the air at
a Jeff Skin way. The trans position, we'll feel seamless
for long time lone Star listeners and it won't change
the connection benon Skin fans have with our show.
Speaker 2 (56:06):
One bit. Okay, Jeff Skin wait.
Speaker 1 (56:08):
A quote, perfect Skinny. He had a better quote to me,
and you sounded just like him, so that was weird.
We are thrilled to welcome to the Ben.
Speaker 7 (56:17):
Skin Show to mornings the Luncer ninet two five, said
Vince Richards, the program director. Yeah, yes, so yes, six
to nine am. The lune Star ninety two five. Full
programming lineup was released as well in this press release. Okay,
the Ben and Skin Morning Show. I've never seen this
called that.
Speaker 6 (56:32):
Yeah, I like it.
Speaker 7 (56:35):
The Ben Skin Morning Show six to nine am, Jason
from the Radio nine to three pm, Jeff k three
to seven Let's Go, and Chad Tyson seven to midnight.
Christina will stay on the Eagle from six to ten.
By the way, so it's a bit of a trade.
Benin's Skin Show going to lone Star ninety two five
starting next Monday, Eagle in return get some rock, all right,
(57:00):
Hey yeah.
Speaker 2 (57:00):
Trade it from Metallica.
Speaker 1 (57:02):
That's pretty cool, but it's yeah, it's the idea that look,
we're we're all part of the same iHeart family. Like
in the Eagle studio, I'm literally looking at the Lone
Start ninety two to five logo right outside of us,
right outside this door. So we'll walk one foot over
to that studio. It's all in the same family. But
if you're a fan of just the music and you
want less talk, well you're gonna get that now on
(57:23):
the Eagle. And if you like our talk show and
you want to wake up and let us put a
smile on your face, man, we'd love to have you.
If you're if you're a longtime listener of lone Star
ninety two five, Like, I'm very active on social media
and I see the comments, like, we have a lot
of supporters who get our backs, and we're grateful for
that because radio can be such a toxic thing. Anytime
there's change, nobody likes change. I have to tell my
(57:44):
family don't go read comments. Yeah, the comments are going
to be toxic. They're very hateful and mean, But I
would just say this, nobody likes change, and we get
it because we were listeners before we were ever on
the air, So we get it.
Speaker 11 (57:55):
Sure.
Speaker 1 (57:55):
I can remember I wrote I think it was Bruce
Gilbert was the it was program director, and I wrote
a long email about how much I hated Bob and
Dan and I hated Bob's accent. When they went on
the ticket, I hated. I wrote this long skating email.
They ended up being my favorite show and both ended
up being dear friends, and I think they're immensely talented.
The reality is nobody likes change. And so I'll just
(58:17):
say this. If you're a longtime listener of Lone Star
and you know you've been listening to that show forever,
and you'd love Bow and Jim, and you know you're
just maybe you listen to John Dylan, maybe you listen
to Redbeard, whatever, how ever long you've been listening to that,
just know that we're so excited about this, we want this,
We're excited about being in Morning Drive. And give us
(58:39):
the opportunity to entertain you. That's all we can ask.
And if you listen and you're like, you know what,
you guys suck I get it, don't don't tune in.
But if you're a if you're a listener of The
Eagle and you're like, thank god, I just want more music,
I don't want any more talk, then this is a
good thing for you too.
Speaker 2 (58:54):
But you know, we've bounced around the dial.
Speaker 1 (58:56):
We've been at K Star forty nine, Fox Sports eleven,
ninety Sports Radio thirteen, Intend The Ticket Live, one O
five to three, one oh five to three, The Fan,
one O three three, ESPN back to one O five
to three, the Fan to ninety seven point one, The
Eagle to ninety seven Won the Freak, back to ninety
seven one the Eagle, And now we're going to lone
Star ninety two five and it's the first time we've
ever worked in the morning. We're actually very excited about.
(59:17):
Now you worked mornings on the Freak. So what do
you what's gonna change for us?
Speaker 7 (59:20):
Actually, I think let's let's have that conversation later in
the week, because I think we're gonna be on again
doing the show for the rest of the week and
we'll get to talk about that, which never happens in
radio usually you just kind of have to go away.
We will talk about our move and some of that,
and I think that's a good discussion to have as
tips for the morning.
Speaker 1 (59:37):
Fulded that later in the week. Hell yeah, we'll do
that in a segment called just the Tip. All right,
Coming up next, it's the Love Shack. The Rangers are doing.
What we'll discuss next?
Speaker 2 (59:46):
All right?
Speaker 1 (59:47):
It is The Been and Skin Show ninety seven point
one The Eagle. This is our last week on the Eagle.
We've been here since twenty twenty. Thanks for going to
us the opportunity to entertain you and after you and drive.
Starting Monday, we'll be doing mornings on our sister station,
lone Star ninety two five. All four of us are
going over and we're very excited about.
Speaker 7 (01:00:03):
Yeah, it's gonna be awesome next Monday morning again down
with the iHeart Radio app. People are asking you to
the podcast. It'll be the same the Ben and Skin
Show podcast. Just make sure you're following that on the
iHeartRadio app as well. I would say I think Friday
show will be a full countdown of some of our
best moments of our time on the Eagle. I've put
up a little form that you can go vote on
(01:00:25):
because I want our listeners to decide these moments, you know,
and we'll count them down on Friday show at kt
fun tweets on Twitter and I've put it in a
few other places, and I'm sure Ben and Skinner Christina
reblasted as well, and you can go vote on that.
I've listed all the options. You can't hear them, but
I listed all the options. You can vote on as
many as you want, and I'll tally them up and
(01:00:45):
on Friday show we'll do a full countdown show.
Speaker 1 (01:00:48):
It's been wild. It's so much has happened since we
came here. Yeah, you know, we're working with the Russ
Martin show Rest in Peace. We had the weird rat
infestation where we had to leave and go to another studio.
Speaker 2 (01:01:00):
We had the pandemic.
Speaker 1 (01:01:02):
Yeah that's the big one, right, Yeah, I mean a
month after being on the air at the Eagle, it's
like the world shutdown, right, the Freak, which I think
we all agree is probably the best thing we've ever
been a part of.
Speaker 2 (01:01:13):
Ever. It was so fun.
Speaker 1 (01:01:14):
It was so much fun. Uh and then back to
the Eagle and uh, it's just been a hell of
a ride. And so yeah, we're very excited about this opportunity.
Starting Monday, we'll be doing mornings from six to nine
am nine am on lone Star ninety two to five.
Speaker 2 (01:01:28):
But right now it's time for this. Welcome to the
Love Shack.
Speaker 8 (01:01:32):
Lady's getting ladies and the white ladies.
Speaker 2 (01:01:37):
Let us be nice to you. Oh the love Shack
Lady life. He gets crazy. You need two sexperts rolling sweezy.
Speaker 5 (01:01:50):
Let me handling the man problems for.
Speaker 7 (01:01:54):
I saw this and I thought we should discuss the
Texas Rangers. They're up to something that's a little interesting.
So I don't watch shows like this, but I know
it's a big deal. Love Islands a huge show, right
understanding of yours.
Speaker 8 (01:02:08):
I know I do not watch Love Island, but I
know people who are obsessed with it.
Speaker 7 (01:02:12):
Is it Netflix?
Speaker 2 (01:02:14):
I think Netflix?
Speaker 6 (01:02:15):
Yeah, you're right.
Speaker 2 (01:02:17):
My wife watches this. I call it Herpes Island.
Speaker 7 (01:02:19):
Yeah, Herpees Island. I mean, I remember back in the
days when reality was just getting started, not reality, when
reality shows were just getting started. Temptation Island was one
that to air at nights on Fox, and it was
just like you know, and probably in junior time at
that time, around junior high around that time. Yeah, and
you're like Boner Patrol. You know what I'm saying, WHOA.
(01:02:41):
What they're showing a lot of stuff here on Fox.
Speaker 9 (01:02:43):
At Night is Love Island is just a dating show, right,
don't it?
Speaker 6 (01:02:49):
No?
Speaker 1 (01:02:49):
I mean I think all these shows are Let's get
a bunch of attracted people scantily clad in an exotic
environment and roll the dice, see what happens, and roll camera.
Speaker 7 (01:02:59):
So when you say Texas Rangers, you're just thinking that's
that's a weird element to roll into that. Glad, what
are we thinking here?
Speaker 1 (01:03:06):
They're gonna take a bunch of former Rangers like Steve
Bouchelle and Pudge and put them all out there and
bathing suits and just see what happens.
Speaker 7 (01:03:12):
So they're trying, and I will say I will credit
the Rangers for trying a bunch of things like they're
they're created with what they're turning that area of Arlington
into events and things so make it fun.
Speaker 6 (01:03:23):
Right.
Speaker 7 (01:03:24):
So as part of their pregame at the Park series
on August twentieth, from five point thirty to seven before
the game before the Rangers and Nationals play, they're having
something called Glove Island, like baseball glove. Okay, Glove Island
and it's a mix and mingle. Ready to catch the
love of your life? Kick off your night with Glove
(01:03:45):
Island on August twentieth. It's a singles mixer with icebreakers,
a photo villa, and a DJ before heading into your
seats for the Rangers in the Nationals.
Speaker 9 (01:03:54):
Interesting.
Speaker 7 (01:03:55):
Each ticket comes loaded with twenty dollars in food and
drink credit. So grab a byte, grab a seat, and
get your night started off.
Speaker 2 (01:04:01):
Right.
Speaker 7 (01:04:03):
If you think a bunch of hot women are gonna
go to this, that's my first question. It's all get
pick up.
Speaker 2 (01:04:08):
This is gonna be a bunch of guys, right, sausage night?
Am I wrong? No you're not.
Speaker 8 (01:04:14):
Because I'm wondering, like, who's even gonna hear about this?
That's the big thing, Like, are hot women even gonna
see this news reporter here about it?
Speaker 7 (01:04:22):
I'll have you know, a lot of hot women listen
to our show.
Speaker 2 (01:04:24):
I was looking at the ratings. Almost only hot women listen, and.
Speaker 7 (01:04:28):
A lot of hot women are like, hey, we're gonna
wake up with you in the morning.
Speaker 2 (01:04:31):
Wait, they sound like they've been smoking.
Speaker 7 (01:04:34):
Hey, well I didn't say they were hot by looks.
It's just really hot outside. Oftentimes they don't have air conditioning,
Big sweaty gals. This is an interesting attempt at something.
Why am I like curious about who's going to this?
Speaker 2 (01:04:52):
Do you want to go?
Speaker 9 (01:04:53):
Is that why you're crying?
Speaker 7 (01:04:54):
You want to go with a camera crew and be like,
who's what do we do? What's your plan here? You're
trying to drag something out of a pregame mix and
mingle event that you have to buy a ticket to.
It's and maybe maybe someone finds love. And I guess
if one couple finds love, it's a success story.
Speaker 13 (01:05:12):
Right.
Speaker 2 (01:05:12):
Oh that's very sweet.
Speaker 7 (01:05:13):
Sorry, I just got an email alert on my phone. Yeah,
it looks like we're moving to lone start there.
Speaker 2 (01:05:18):
It is the emails here, it's official.
Speaker 7 (01:05:20):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:05:21):
I just thought it was interesting.
Speaker 7 (01:05:22):

iHeartRadio app or email me at Kevin Turner at iHeartMedia

Speaker 1 (01:06:32):
Yes, it is the world famous ben and Skin Show
ninety seven point won the Eagle.
Speaker 2 (01:06:36):
For one more week. What a ride it's been.
Speaker 1 (01:06:38):
The Benin Skin Show have been here on the Eagle
since twenty twenty, and uh man, we survived the pandemic,
we flip to the Freak, flip back to the Eagle,
and we've still been here in afternoon drive.
Speaker 2 (01:06:49):
But this is our last week.
Speaker 1 (01:06:51):
We're going to be moving to mornings on lone Star
ninety two to five, our sister station will be on
from six to nine am. And in the trade, the
Eagle gets more music. So if you're one of the
those people who's like, man, tell those idiots to quit talking.
I want to hear more music, You're gonna get what
you wanted, more rock here on the Eagle. And if
you like our show man, come with us, Come with
us to lone Star ninety two five and give us
(01:07:11):
a chance to entertain you. You know, we're super proud
to be going there and in the house that Bow
and Jim built, and it's an honor to be on
those same airwaves and we're gonna take that baton and
try to do the best job we can. Man, we're
super honored by that as well. But it all starts
Monday morning from six to nine am. And if you
listen to the podcast, nothing really changes in your life.
Speaker 2 (01:07:31):
But right now stop for this all that and that's big,
really big.
Speaker 7 (01:07:40):
I have a couple of neighborhood type stories, one local,
one not. I'm gonna first go to my next door
app because this is what a lady said. And she
got three hundred and seventy six comments on this, so
people were pretty active. I live in Richardson, so you
can imagine this could be Richardson, it could be North Alice,
(01:08:00):
it could be South plain Ow, it could be Garland.
Speaker 2 (01:08:02):
You know next door. I had a pretty wide tracking
device on that. She says.
Speaker 14 (01:08:09):
I was in my pool this afternoon and a drone
flew directly above about seventy five feet, and about fifteen
minutes it came back.
Speaker 2 (01:08:17):
I felt violated.
Speaker 14 (01:08:20):
I don't think they should be allowed to be above
someone's private property.
Speaker 2 (01:08:24):
Do you all agree? Good?
Speaker 1 (01:08:26):
She activating and hits some engagement there by asking, yeah,
you ask a question. So she didn't like that it
was above her privates. Yeah, that's she's saying.
Speaker 2 (01:08:35):
It's her.
Speaker 1 (01:08:35):
Yeah, she's she's in a bikini or something. Now do
we before we can react to this? Christina thinks we
should know what she looks like. I see her think
you which I don't care because I think all women
are equal. But Christina thinks if she's hot. We should
give her some latitude.
Speaker 9 (01:08:52):
Then it's violating.
Speaker 7 (01:08:54):
Here you go, I can only give you like that.
Speaker 2 (01:08:56):
Oh good, we got a picture.
Speaker 7 (01:08:57):
There's the husband in the app.
Speaker 1 (01:08:59):
Okay, okay, I would think she's still she still got
her fastball. It's not ninety nine, but it's ninety two
with move out.
Speaker 7 (01:09:05):
This picture is definitely not taking on a new phone.
Speaker 2 (01:09:07):
Okay, yeah, okay, but you know find out.
Speaker 7 (01:09:15):
We did the story two weeks ago of the people
and Richardson who are pissed about the drone deliveries, saying
it's keeping them up all night. And it's I've seen
these drawn live close to where this is all happening.
It's not that big of a deal. It's not an inconvenience.
It's not all the time. It's just not And it's
not that loud.
Speaker 2 (01:09:32):
It's not that loud.
Speaker 7 (01:09:33):
You couldn't hear if you're watching TV and you get
the volume up at a fifteen to twenty or whatever
the number system is on your volume, you're good. You're
not hearing it. Outside. We have planes that fly over
our house. Yeah, you know, usually from the Addison Airport
or or other you know like that make more noise
than they do. So I thought it was a weird.
I thought people were kind of just trying to get
(01:09:55):
on TV on the news. That is what I felt
like to me. Okay, but think about this. You're in
your pool and drones flying over. Now, she doesn't know
if it's a delivery drone or not, so it's a.
Speaker 2 (01:10:09):
Fair no, I understand. I understand.
Speaker 1 (01:10:12):
If you're in your backyard, you want privacy, you want
to be in your bathing suit or whatever. You don't
need drones flying over, and that is super suspective. One
keeps coming back, it's creepy, especially.
Speaker 8 (01:10:21):
If it was just hovering there then yeah, yeah, okay,
she just said it flew directly above.
Speaker 2 (01:10:26):
She didn't say it hovered, She just said it came back.
Speaker 1 (01:10:29):
Well, she should take solace in the fact that there's
no way it has a good enough camera on it
to zoom in on her from seventy five feet.
Speaker 2 (01:10:35):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (01:10:36):
Well, someone in the comments posted this. The Texas Privacy Act, okay,
found in the Texas Government Code, makes it a criminal
offense to use an unmanned aircraft to capture images of
private property or individuals with the intent to conduct a
surveillance so if she was able to determine that this
was not a delivery, she might have something. Oh but
(01:10:58):
I think it's just an Amazon Deal Livery drone or
a Walmart delivery drone.
Speaker 8 (01:11:02):
I can't So you can't tell the difference in a
personal drone or a because I haven't seen those delivery
drones yet.
Speaker 7 (01:11:09):
You know, if they're going back, retreating back to where
they came from, then they obviously they don't have a
big package.
Speaker 8 (01:11:16):
Right, Like are they a different color? Because I've seen
like black drones.
Speaker 1 (01:11:20):
Drones, yeah, Jones all the time. Now, I just see
drones for what they are, don't worry about what color
they are. But you guys, do you you know what
does that include? Like little kids who get drones and
are just flying around the neighborhood having fun. Is that
like a federal offense for them to do that? Well,
you can do it, But are you taking pictures or not?
That's the thing?
Speaker 2 (01:11:37):
Okay, adducting surveillance on how do you prove that? Okay?
Speaker 1 (01:11:40):
But if you're conducting surveillance, that could just be looking
through a live camera feed without snapping pictures too, right.
Speaker 7 (01:11:45):
Yeah, And shouldn't Google be uh charged with this though,
because Google Maps, there's the there's the photos of our
it's just the front.
Speaker 8 (01:11:54):
Though that's not really is it is that kind of
as private when it's just like your eye don't know?
Speaker 7 (01:12:00):
I mean, I don't know. I mean I if you
go to Google Maps and if you own like I'm
just like where my parents have owned the property, right
we have there's a huge field you can see all that.
I don't know, like do you have does anyone have
a case there or do we just we've just allowed.
Speaker 2 (01:12:14):
Google to have that.
Speaker 1 (01:12:15):
I feel the same way about meta glasses. Those are
a probably I think it's super invasive for someone to
just force meta glasses on you. Yeah, like in any situation,
like I'm always incredibly uneasy. It's essentially the same thing
as somebody walking around holding a phone up.
Speaker 9 (01:12:30):
Yeah, recording everything, Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:12:33):
Recording every single thing.
Speaker 7 (01:12:34):
This is why it is that whole line of going
too far, And this is why they're making a whole
new Facebook movie because like Zuckerberg's behind all this, right, like, dude,
just live your life.
Speaker 1 (01:12:48):
I don't know, some Peyo will feel like the Internet
and all this is heading towards a place where it's
AI and it's all fake and it's so uh you know,
there's no credibility that it may just eliminate itself.
Speaker 2 (01:13:02):
Yeah, and to where analog things come back.
Speaker 1 (01:13:04):
Because you feel like you could trust things that you
can touch and feel and hold that are like a
newspaper or whatever, and that social media and all this
could kill itself.
Speaker 2 (01:13:15):
This is where the.
Speaker 7 (01:13:18):
Generations that are behind us have the power. And the
problem is a lot of those generations that a lot
of that generation, there's plenty of people who are going
back to analog and like vintage and all that stuff.
It talks about that, but like there's also a larger
part of that generation who's into all the AI stuff
and it's just gonna kind of Oh, I've had a
tablet my whole life.
Speaker 2 (01:13:38):
So they're just going to stay on that path.
Speaker 7 (01:13:41):
Yeah, I mean I any change that could ever come
in the future is dependent on the kids. Right The
people are behind us, and I just don't have a
lot of faith in them right now.
Speaker 2 (01:13:53):
But maybe not now.
Speaker 1 (01:13:56):
And the kids, I see, it's so weird having a
daughter that's sixteen or she's about to be sixteen. But
the other day some boys came over. She had her
some of her girlfriends over and some boys came over
and they were all wearing boots and they had I
thought they had facial hair. I thought they were all
like six two six'. Four i'm, like what is happening the?
House get the hell out Of one kid came over
(01:14:18):
and was driving like one hundred thousand dollars. Truck, Well i'm,
like who are?
Speaker 2 (01:14:22):
You who are your? Parents why would your parents do?
Speaker 1 (01:14:23):
That you're an automatic nouche and your life's ruined because
you'll never appreciate. Anything, ever if you're given one hundred
thousand dollars truck when you're, sixteen how do you go
anywhere from?
Speaker 7 (01:14:34):
That, yeah that's. Rough i'm sorry you're going through.
Speaker 2 (01:14:38):
THAT i can't it's.
Speaker 1 (01:14:40):
TOUGH i Remember skin saying that he wished he was
dead before a guy showed up to take his daughter
on a date on a.
Speaker 2 (01:14:44):
Motorcycle i'm in that window right. NOW i know it's
going to happen.
Speaker 7 (01:14:49):
NOW i knew these days were coming for, you, man
AND i saw it with, him you. Know, yeah and,
uh it's, thoughts some prayers for thank, You thank.
Speaker 8 (01:14:58):
You you me to reach out to my dad for.
Advice he raised three. Girls somehow and he's Still, okay
you reach out to.
Speaker 7 (01:15:06):
HIM i do need To minnesota man is accused of
something bad because so he had been getting. Mad he's
thirty nine years. Old it's about my.
Speaker 2 (01:15:14):
Age he.
Speaker 7 (01:15:16):
Has been getting mad at some of the neighborhood kids
because they've been riding their bike through his lawn and he's, like,
hey that's not gonna. Work so he got a spike,
strip placed it out in his. Yard he's been flattening
the tires and all the kids are the front yard
and he has been charged with a. Crime though what
really one? Misdemeanor kind of setting a spring, gun pitfall
(01:15:40):
or it's a or deadfall or, snare it's a pitfall
is basically what it, is basically setting a.
Speaker 1 (01:15:46):
Trap wait, wait, hold he didn't just set up because
you make a, pitfall that's like you make a hole
that they fall.
Speaker 2 (01:15:52):
Into, yeah that's too. Much that's too. Much it's his, yard,
Though why can't he do whatever he?
Speaker 1 (01:15:58):
Wants BUT i guess it is kind of like if
somebody breaks in your home and they get, hurt they
can sue.
Speaker 2 (01:16:02):
You is that along those? Lines oh, YEAH i don't
know about.
Speaker 1 (01:16:05):
That that's.
Speaker 2 (01:16:06):
Interesting, YEAH i don't have a problem with.
Speaker 1 (01:16:08):
It if you have to take great care of your
lawn and some punks are running through it and they
won't stop doing, it you should be able to do
whatever you. Want the THING i see more than just
the bikes IS i see kids riding these electric, bikes
and one a kid got pulled out in our neighborhood
going over seventy miles an hour on an electric.
Speaker 2 (01:16:24):
Bike and parents buy their.
Speaker 1 (01:16:26):
Kids these, Things And i'm, like one mistake in your
dead your whole life's, over just so you can have
an electric bike that goes Seventy.
Speaker 7 (01:16:35):
He had Forty, oh he had a thick plastic strip
and had forty three inch screws protruding, upward and the
bicycle tire tracks showed that children regularly were riding through the.
Yard so, like is this guy evil or? GENIUS i
kind of don't.
Speaker 6 (01:16:51):
Know.
Speaker 1 (01:16:51):
GENIUS i have his. Back these punks are turning up his.
Yard why should he be responsible for them hurting their
bikes when they're hurting his?
Speaker 7 (01:16:59):
Lawn told them or warned, them, like, yeah, yo not
here like the, sidewalk you know. WHATEVER i don't know
what the layout, is BUT i don't, KNOW i thought
it was kind of funny though it seems like something was.
HAPPENING i could see that easily happening WHERE i could
come from.
Speaker 8 (01:17:13):
It, yeah and that's way cheaper than having to buy a.
Fence oh, yeah, yeah because that's his other, option just
get a. Fence they can't ride through.
Speaker 2 (01:17:20):
That but if it's like the.
Speaker 7 (01:17:21):
Front yard either, though you don't need a fence to
the front yard or, yeah oh why don't we have
front yard? FENCES i.
Speaker 2 (01:17:26):
Do, boy that's a question a. Week, yeah is it
a little?
Speaker 1 (01:17:30):
One? Yeah, Okay, well we had a neighbor try to
put up a big giant backyard fence in their front.
Yard and one of the neighborhoods THAT i lived, in
interesting they were there were a unique. Family they had
like thirteen. Kids they were doing like they were having
an Indoor they were birthing kids inside the house and.
Stuff you, know they were home birds and uh a weird.
Sport at one point there was a stillborn and they
wanted to bury it in their front.
Speaker 2 (01:17:51):
Yard oh so there's an odd.
Speaker 1 (01:17:53):
Family but then they were just putting up a front
yard fence like the eight foot board on board and
there was no, homeowners you, know.
Speaker 2 (01:17:59):
But they bluffed them out of. It they're, yeah there's
a homeowners association, there like there, is and they just
tore it. Down that is.
Speaker 7 (01:18:05):
Weird do you think something's definitely going? On, yeah in
your houseguard.
Speaker 2 (01:18:09):
Boo all, right there you have.
Speaker 1 (01:18:11):
