Speaker 1 (00:00):
You got a poop nice.
Speaker 2 (00:08):
With ef it with I show, you're gonna ruling it.
Get except with similar freak pursuing it, tundled out Shaw
shank through the sewer. Kid, Now what chill in that day?
Speaker 3 (00:18):
People?
Speaker 2 (00:19):
Yeah, we're doing it. Three o'clock on the dock. Got
a habit for my house, a goat status. How we'd
starting to get craddic shows that enough multiplied like a
rabbit dune in so out, crank it up, beat the habit.
Speaker 4 (00:33):
I'm wan hang out with her friends, rocking on the ladio,
my home boys.
Speaker 1 (00:43):
Talking on the radio.
Speaker 3 (00:45):
It's time to do this.
Speaker 1 (00:47):
Look all it in we go, Kat to the Skin,
all all the.
Speaker 5 (00:56):
Radio, all up on my radio. Indeed, Hello and welcome everybody.
This is the world's famous Ben and Skin Show ninety
seven point one The Eagle, Ben Rogers, Kevin k t,
Teardown Turner and Christina Carie.
Speaker 6 (01:10):
A little baby gone b ray, Like, uh, we're here,
Skin is not here, And I don't understand.
Speaker 5 (01:16):
Like massive news comes out yesterday about our show, tons
of buzz, maybe the most online support I've ever seen.
Speaker 6 (01:25):
And where his skin?
Speaker 7 (01:28):
Maybe he's getting ready for that schedule, like it's smart
take a week off, get adjusted to a six am.
Speaker 1 (01:35):
You know, could be one of those things where he's
just gone and the show name stays the same, maybe
like the Ben and Skin Show's going, but there's no skin.
Speaker 5 (01:44):
I was gonna call it the Ben and Christina Show, okay,
And but I'm what are you thinking?
Speaker 1 (01:49):
I didn't have any ideas. I was thinking, I have mornings.
Speaker 6 (01:53):
Put mornings in it.
Speaker 5 (01:55):
By the way, the big news that I was referencing
sarcastically was yesterday it was announced that the Ben and
Skin Show, our show is leaving the Eagle, leaving these
airwaves that we've been on since twenty twenty. It's been
such an honor to do the show here, to thank
you for letting us entertain you, thank you for allowing
us to be a part of your day. But on Monday,
we are leaving, going to our sister station, lone Star
(02:18):
ninety two five, and we'll be doing mornings from six
to nine am. And so this whole week we're promoting
that move and moving there. And I was just thinking
about this yesterday. The amount of love and support that
I saw in the world for the Bow and Jim
Show was incredibly powerful and just so meaningful, and that's
(02:39):
what we all like, we all strive for that. I mean,
those are radio legends. I think, I think Bow and
Jim we're on lone Star ninety two five for almost
twenty five Yearsang, Yeah, and obviously local radio legends. And
you know we've been in We're we're not replacing that
show on Loan Stow.
Speaker 6 (02:58):
We're not even trying to. We're not even going on
after them.
Speaker 5 (03:02):
They haven't been there for some time, but but you
can see how you know, they're incredibly loyal listeners are
making that connection, and I just have so much respect
for that. I hope that if we're ever if we're
ever somewhere, I mean we've been here now at iHeart
for six years or whatever. We've been doing this since
two thousand and one, roughly full time since two thousand
(03:23):
and eight. But you know, we've moved around to a
bunch of different stations. People like to say that we've
been fired, We've from every station. We've never been fired, actually,
but we have better on ourselves and gone to different
stations and given it a shot.
Speaker 6 (03:36):
And that's kind of what this is.
Speaker 5 (03:39):
But I would hope that if you know, we have
we're we're grateful to have some loyal listeners. But I'm
sure every time we move from one station or another,
we probably some people jump off the bus and stay
at that station, and maybe we go to a new
station and we grow and get new listeners there. But man,
they should be so freaking proud of that. Those are
radio Hall of Fame to have that sort of love
(04:02):
and outpouring of support.
Speaker 6 (04:04):
I get it.
Speaker 5 (04:05):
And you know, if you're into the social media comments,
you see our loyal supporters and they're excited about the change,
but you all see a lot of people who are like, man,
f that I don't want anything else. I want this
show that I've had for twenty five years. And so, man,
I totally understand that sentiment. And I just respect the
hell out of those dudes and and that sweet lady
Anna and Ao.
Speaker 6 (04:25):
And everything they built in their career.
Speaker 5 (04:27):
And you know, I always look at it as we
as radio hosts, we're kind of all teammates, you know,
we're kind of in some ways, we're kind of ponds
for the game and a bigger corporate thing, you know,
and we're you know, like my dad said, life's like
a dog sled team. If you're not the lead dog,
the view never changes. You're looking at another dog's butthole.
And so I just kind of think of us as
all being in it together. But yeah, I don't know.
(04:49):
I've just been flooded with emotion about all of it,
because the change is exciting, and doing something new is exciting.
But it's impossible not to just sit back and be
in awe and utter respect of everything that iconic show built.
And honestly, you know, we're not replacing them and not
trying to. But the part of what makes that station
that opportunity attractive to us is what they've built, the
(05:12):
culture they've built, and I just have immense respect for that,
and that's why that doing mornings a lone Star is
such a prestigious opportunity because of who they are now.
Speaker 1 (05:22):
They're dope, and it's also like, you know, we this
is we also, like with all these other radio stations,
kind of work with each other. Like we're all have
to go to corporate meetings together. We bump into each
other the hallways. When I was doing mornings, when we
were doing the Freak, it was pretty great. I was
on the same urination schedule as BO about five point
fifteen am, just you know, the story fight it's going on. Man.
(05:46):
It was always great to just kind of talk to
him in Morgings. He's always a pretty good mood, you know,
and in very good classic dad type phrases.
Speaker 8 (05:53):
You know.
Speaker 6 (05:53):
Yeah, it's just very good.
Speaker 1 (05:55):
It's exactly what it's an example I me. You know,
I don't want to like misquoted, Okay, I guy, but
you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 6 (06:01):
I do those same things.
Speaker 1 (06:02):
Yeah, but it's like what you would expect because buzz
a little Cajun.
Speaker 6 (06:06):
Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah yeah.
Speaker 1 (06:07):
So uh it was always really awesome. And then like
Christina interned with them, so you got to work very
close with them.
Speaker 7 (06:14):
Well and that's like you said, Ben, that's why I
was so amazed when they actually reached back out to
me and said, yeah, we'll pick you and uh. And
I was just always blown away by how, like, like
you said, upbeat.
Speaker 1 (06:25):
Bo was so early in the morning.
Speaker 7 (06:27):
I mean I had to drive from Denton, but they
were always just like up ready to go, how are you?
Speaker 1 (06:33):
What can we help you with if anything? And yeah,
I love those guys still do. When we first came
to the Eagle in twenty twenty. We were two to five,
so he would have been done at the morning and
to show at ten and you know, who knows what
time we were here, probably eleven thirty noon whatever, a
couple hours for the show starts, and sometimes he'd be
he'd still be here and I'm but what are you
(06:53):
still doing here?
Speaker 3 (06:54):
Man?
Speaker 1 (06:55):
He goes, don't tell nobody. I'm trying to get out
of here, you know, like trying to I don't want
to get caught up and something. Yes.
Speaker 6 (07:01):
Yeah, so they're great.
Speaker 1 (07:02):
I do disagree with one thing Ben about us all
being you know, teammates. We're all in it together now.
Radio Wars are still alive and well, okay, j Choppy, Yes,
and the words of the great James Hetfield sleep with
one eye open. Buddy, We're coming. We're coming.
Speaker 6 (07:16):
Yep, we're coming. We're coming. RJ.
Speaker 5 (07:19):
Come, and I hope you know that we're coming for
you personally. We're not coming for the Shawn and RJ show.
We're coming for you, r J. Choppy, and you better
watch your back, Ralph, James Choppy, we're coming for you.
In fact, when you know, we need probably need to
sit down and look at the morning ratings. Or whatever,
and what you know, we'll probably come from the back
(07:41):
of the race, right we're one of the last horses,
And it's like, uh yeah, we'll be coming from the
back of the pack. And then but we're coming to
the top and we're gonna take every single morning show
out one by one.
Speaker 1 (07:55):
So I know, I gotta go. I want to kind
of get just thirty seconds here, all right? The comments
and stuff, do you get your few things that you
just We've been in the business long enough, you know
you're gonna get some hateful.
Speaker 6 (08:05):
Things a lot.
Speaker 1 (08:06):
My favorite one that I see multiple times is, oh,
good luck to you guys going up against the musers
Smart Move, Hey, dumbasses. They're not even on the same
rating system as we are right now, Like like we
don't even go up against them anymore right now. It's
like that company does something different with ratings, Like it's
(08:27):
just how it is right now. And I just think
that's really funny too, Oh smart Move, Look what's gonna happen? Like,
I don't know if people think about it in the industry.
I don't think people think about it like some people
want to know and I and I also think it's
just different lanes.
Speaker 5 (08:44):
Like we've done different types of shows. We did a
talk show where all we did was talk and never
played any music.
Speaker 6 (08:50):
This is the hybrid of that.
Speaker 5 (08:52):
You know, we're gonna it's it's gonna it's more about
a vibe, it's more about an energy. It's more of
that traditional rock radio morning show. And that's why we
think back to Q and O two and the Zoo
and the Old Eagle, and you know, we grew up
born and raised here listening to those stations and they
were always just a massive part of our lives. And
so anyways, this is all a big honor. We're leaving
the Eagle on Monday. We start our show on lone
(09:13):
Star ninety two five at six am, and for the
Eagle listener, what you get is more rock.
Speaker 6 (09:18):
There will be more rock played here and less talk.
Speaker 5 (09:21):
So anyways, everybody wins and we're gonna have a good
good time the rest of the week. We'll still do
our show three to six the rest of the week,
and then Friday will be our last show ever on
ninety seven point one The Eagle coming up next. Let's
have a little entertainment. Headlines Apparently a fart cleared out
a theater. We'll talk about it next. Before we get
to that, that's not an authentic representation or reenactment. Before
(09:44):
we get to that, I want to say thank you
to our friends at Reliant air Conditioning. Look, the summer
heat wave is upon us and it's a beating. You know,
it goes call Relying air Conditioning to do the tune
up on your air conditioning system. Basically, it's like an
oil change for your car's engine, but changing, you know,
doing a little tune ups on your heating and air
conditioning system can make your AC unit last a lot longer.
(10:05):
I just purchased two new air conditioners from Reliant air Conditioning,
and nobody wants to ever have to buy a new
air conditioning system. But I'm glad I did it with
Reliant because I got an incredible deal and you will too.
They'll do everything they can to help you find every
single available rebate. But what I learned through that is
just how the maintenance makes it last longer and puts
off you having to spend all that money. So do
a basic tune up. Reliant air Conditioning is gimmick free.
(10:27):
They'll come out and do the tune up and they
won't try to sell you something you don't need. Call
Jeff Stewart and his crew right now. Reliant Air Conditioning
eight seven seven your Hero. That's eight seven seven nine
six eight seven four three seven and.
Speaker 1 (10:46):
It's Kin Show ninety seven one the Eagle. We've got
a chance for you to want a pair of tickets
to see three eleven and the Dirty Heads later in
the show. They're gonna be in town August twenty fifth
at the Toyota Music Factory. But right now, let's do this.
Speaker 8 (10:57):
It is a team, it's a tape.
Speaker 1 (11:02):
We have time. We're going to talk about a TV
show that Christina finished and I quit, and uh, she's
got quite a review for it. But we got to
get to the Spider Man story. There was a theater
that was showing the Spider Man movie, which everyone went
and saw over the weekend. By the way, I think
it combined with people still seeing The Odyssey, created the
(11:25):
biggest weekend ever in Bucks office history. Yeah we saw
that ever. Yeah, Yeah, people are seeing Spider Man and
you know what they should, Big Tom Holland week. He's
in both of those movies.
Speaker 6 (11:37):
Yes, that little guy.
Speaker 1 (11:39):
He little guys live in a pretty good life. I
would imagine, what do you think he is five six?
He's five six. She's probably about six to one Zendaya,
I don't know, probably not probably five to ten. She's
tall though, but she always looks taller than she is
because she's usually next to him, her husband, although they
tried to keep that under reps.
Speaker 6 (11:59):
I didn't know that long time.
Speaker 1 (12:01):
Yeah, they got married, they're still together.
Speaker 6 (12:06):
That's quite a touching love tribute you just had.
Speaker 1 (12:09):
So there's a screening of Spider Man brand New Day
in Columbia, and then the whole theater and cook, a
guy who has watched the movie in a Spider Man
costume had to evacuate because someone in the audience had
farted so bad that it was making people have problems breathing. Man,
(12:32):
I imagine that's a theater part.
Speaker 6 (12:33):
That does sound like a reenact.
Speaker 5 (12:35):
Meant, all right, let's do let's do have that part ready?
Speaker 6 (12:42):
How do you want to kill the giant cyclops? What
can we possibly do?
Speaker 1 (12:49):
Oh my god, we've got to get out of here.
Speaker 8 (12:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (12:51):
I wonder if it really was one or a series
of mustard bombs.
Speaker 6 (12:56):
They had to be a series, right.
Speaker 1 (12:58):
Yeah, given this, well, I mean this is really just
happening in America, not so much in other countries. But
we've got an explosive diarrhea in America, so it does
make me wonder if it was worse than that. But
everyone had to leave before the end credits because it
smelled so bad. I won't say if that happened near
the Odyssey, no one would hear it because it's it's
the loudest movie I've ever been a part of. But
(13:20):
you smell it, and that's what caused them.
Speaker 7 (13:22):
Yes, so it was at the end of Spider Man, right,
so they at least got to see most of the movie.
Speaker 6 (13:28):
Yeah, they missed the most important part.
Speaker 1 (13:30):
Okay, I mean, I don't know. I don't know how
bad it smelled. There's a clip of it. I don't know, terrible.
Speaker 5 (13:46):
Hey, with regard to the Odyssey, I've been thinking about
this a lot. I've already seen it twice and I
would go see it again and maybe a couple more times,
Like I really like it. But I've been thinking about
Matt Damon, just where Matt Damon fits into the grand
scheme of things, like this takes him up a notch
and a notch and a notch and a notch. But
(14:07):
every time you see an interview with him, he's very likable.
He's super talented, like he is, uh, I mean, where
would he be in the power rankings? Like of our
greatest actors alive right now? He's in the mix, right.
Speaker 1 (14:19):
I think what you have to ask yourself is you
have to look at previous winners. Okay, Like, but was
he also better in this than Brian Gosling was in
Project Hail Mary Ah. He was so good in that,
And I don't know, it's hard to take the story
out of it and just focus on what the actor did.
Speaker 5 (14:37):
But this is such a seems like a difficult role,
like he plays a badass and does it and execute.
Speaker 6 (14:44):
I mean, I don't know, man.
Speaker 1 (14:45):
I and you watch.
Speaker 5 (14:47):
Matt Damon and you watch him in the Odyssey, and
then you watch him arguably be the best host on
SNL this year. He was hilarious. The auctioneer thing was
so good. I mean, there was the substitute teacher of
the Sun and class.
Speaker 1 (15:00):
I mean, yeah, I feel like he's definitely up there.
But is it kiss because we haven't seen him in
much for the last couple of years. I don't know,
he's been done a couple of Netflix movies with Ben
Affleck and stuff like that. Like where does he stay?
He's up there? I mean he's He's won a Best
Actor award, right, but I think I don't know.
Speaker 5 (15:18):
But like, in terms of likability, everyone likes him, right eh, No, Okay,
what's his thing?
Speaker 7 (15:23):
I don't like Matt Damon, but I always I just
don't know him enough. I don't watch his interviews or anything,
and I always think of the team Americadomon.
Speaker 1 (15:31):
So I watched He's not likable to me.
Speaker 5 (15:34):
I watched him do a Criterion collection thing where he's
in that closet picking movies and his knowledge. Yeah, as
a centophile or whatever. It's like, damn, Like he is
an impressive dude. That feels real too. I will say
he won. He did not win for Best Actor. He's
not won for Best Actor yet. He was nominated for
Goodwill Hunting in ninety eight and nominated for The Martian
(15:56):
in twenty sixteen.
Speaker 1 (15:58):
I bet he will for to see that. He'll be
nominated for sure. I haven't even seen it yet, and
I already know we're sylbl.
Speaker 5 (16:05):
Gosspling and Okay, they're in the same class. Yeah, okay,
all right, all right, there you have it. A little
entertainment headlines coming up next, it's the Wayback Machine. This
is our last week on the Eagle. So what are
you gonna do for us here, Katie.
Speaker 1 (16:17):
Well, we're gonna be moving to six to nine next
week on lone Star ninety two five. How about the
top sixty nine clips from the Ben and Skin Show
as voted on by our listeners. Next on ninety seven
one the Eagle.
Speaker 5 (16:27):
Ah, yes, it is the world famous Ben and Skin Show,
your new morning show. Hopefully you wake up every morning
with us on lone Star ninety two five. We'll start
there on Monday. So very excited about that. This will
be our last week on the Eagle. And what you're
gonna get instead of us in afternoons is more music.
So we kind of joked about it being a trade.
(16:49):
We got traded to lone Star ninety two five. They're
trying to win now and they traded some music for us,
and so anyways, you'll be getting more music in the afternoons. Anyways,
come up here at four o'clock. We got Christina's cookie jar,
we got a stage fail. But right now it's time
for this.
Speaker 6 (17:09):
It's time to go into the schedule.
Speaker 1 (17:11):
Way back, I heard that intro and said, I think
in show quality now. So look, I have a lot
of files on my computer related to the show, and
I was thinking about things and maybe Friday, maybe a
fool like best of what I like to do is
make a little Google form and let the audience vote.
And then as I counted last night of how many
(17:32):
files I'd collected, I counted sixty nine files on ironically,
and I was like, you know what, We're moving to
six to nine am. So that's pretty great. We're moving
to six to nine am next week. How about our
top sixty nine clips from our time on the Eagle,
which we started in twenty twenty, as voted on by
our listeners. Right, but on the form day voted.
Speaker 6 (17:54):
Let's go sidy nine.
Speaker 1 (17:56):
Yeah, so number sixty nine is titled bluehee Alert.
Speaker 5 (18:00):
So do you think that our wives should get blue
chew alerts? Okay, every time we pop one? Just hey,
heads up on a swivel. Literally, what to stay the
night out with your friend's night? Yeah, a blue choo
has been consumed. What happens as you get married? Kevin
is there? Let they don't want that that's bad.
Speaker 6 (18:20):
That's bad. For that to happen in their lives, they
need to run. Really.
Speaker 1 (18:25):
Yeah, I thought they got like pleasures out of it.
Speaker 5 (18:28):
That extended until my wife has an experienced pleasure in
decades at least by my hand.
Speaker 1 (18:33):
Yeah, now your hand. Yes, I love his background. Last
so good. That was sixty ninth. Yeah, number sixty nine.
Speaker 5 (18:52):
That seems like it'd be a top fiver for most shows.
But you're telling me we have sixty eight better than that,
six years better, and we'll reveal you umber sixty eight.
This one was titled puss Boil. Oh, so what is
he named after? A pussy boil or something?
Speaker 1 (19:08):
Pussy boil?
Speaker 6 (19:11):
That's a daze to call me going up pussy boiled?
Speaker 1 (19:15):
Such a whim Oh, they were calling me something else,
I guess.
Speaker 6 (19:18):
Guys.
Speaker 1 (19:18):
The Empire Strike Back Kit Theaters on this day in
nineteen eighty tough stroke. Oh did you hear that? Professional broadcast?
Speaker 8 (19:25):
Was good?
Speaker 1 (19:25):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (19:26):
That was Casey casem dude. Can we hear the end
of that?
Speaker 1 (19:29):
Guys?
Speaker 5 (19:29):
The Empire Strike Back Kit Theaters on this day in
nineteen eighty Oh, very heartfelt ending there.
Speaker 1 (19:35):
Perfect for those that don't know have narcolepsi, which sometimes
leads to me having joke strokes. Don't worry about it.
Speaker 6 (19:41):
Pretty awesome.
Speaker 1 (19:42):
Number sixty seven We were live at Pluckers in Mosquito.
I believe I remember the day vividly. There's a protest
going on somewhere and this is called bin tracks the protests.
Aren't there more protests about puffoles?
Speaker 2 (19:56):
Is that?
Speaker 5 (19:56):
What's going on in La right now? Following our news
it's going on. You see crowds, and I'm assuming it's
about potholes. Yeah, were you guys watching a lot of
that last night?
Speaker 1 (20:04):
No?
Speaker 5 (20:05):
No, all right, coming up next day.
Speaker 6 (20:14):
Come on, dude, I would look for you. Don't sate
me on that. I follow FC Dallas.
Speaker 1 (20:31):
Just completely leaving the vent out to dry.
Speaker 8 (20:34):
No.
Speaker 6 (20:35):
No, you guys were watching a lot of that last night.
Speaker 5 (20:38):
No, No, percent of all off record conversations are about
exactly that.
Speaker 6 (20:49):
Yeah, nope, not Paul.
Speaker 1 (20:51):
It wasn't on the radar. So yeah, we'll pick it
up at sixty six. We'll do it all week. These
were voted on viral listeners. This is a this is
a gift to them for free. Yeah, we keep this going.
Speaker 5 (21:03):
The top sixty nine moments in the history of our
career here at the Eagle. We'll do that next, keeping
it going before we get there.
Speaker 6 (21:10):
Thank you to you.

Skin Show ninety seven to one The Eagle. We're moving
to lone Star ninety two five next Monday, six to
nine am. And I kind of wanted to celebrate a
little bit this week because we've been on the Eagle
since twenty twenty, so I've been here for you know,
many years at this point, had a lot of fun
doing our show in the afternoon here. But before we
moved to mornings six to nine am, I discovered that
(22:22):
I had sixty nine clips that I put on a
form and let our audience vote on. So the top
sixty nine clips in the Beninskin Show history from the
time on ninety seven to one the Eagle. Just to
celebrate have a little fun here as we leave the
Eagle and move over down the hall to lone Star
ninety two five.
Speaker 5 (22:38):
Well, just when you look at these the bottom of
the list, here these bottom view, Yeah, does it sound
like after being here for six years, this show deserved
a morning slot on a prestigious station like lone Star.
Not at all, Yeah, no, not at all. Yeah, hopefully
none of the suits are listening.
Speaker 1 (22:55):
Yeah. Number sixty six on the list is voted on
by our audience. By the way, at Pluckers Skin's sheep
story the wrong thing.
Speaker 6 (23:05):
Don't worry about that true? What is that?
Speaker 1 (23:08):
That was the bad national anthem? Okay, we can't just
go meshing animals.
Speaker 5 (23:14):
God man, but dogs, but dogs are pets that are
not real animals pets.
Speaker 1 (23:20):
Okay, we knew a guy.
Speaker 5 (23:21):
He wasn't a friend, but he was a friend of friends,
and he had spent time on a prison farm and
he very famously said famously that the sheep felt the
most lifelike look man, that actually happened. He contended that
(23:45):
out on those farms, that that was the one. You
gotta understand the type of people's skin was trying to befriends.
Speaker 1 (23:51):
He's out of the station, is going to change the
country now you I thought a kid us in honor
of Garth Brooks put that on Garth front.
Speaker 5 (24:02):
My favorite part is everyone silent. Katie takes a drink
and he goes, oh, he felt all the most lifelike man,
your Steven, doesn't he man that actually happened?
Speaker 1 (24:24):
Imagining that God Number sixty five is voted on by
our listeners. Ben makes a weird honk sounds Why Are
you looking for that? Aren't you looking for true love?
Speaker 6 (24:37):
Uh? Yeah, all right, here's some crackers. Did you hear
the noise?
Speaker 1 (24:42):
I mean, get you retreat? He went on.
Speaker 5 (24:47):
I noticed that the older I get, I just start
making noises. He goes, aren't you looking for true love?
And I went half, Sometimes your body just makes a
noise and responds on its own.
Speaker 6 (25:01):
Ah yeah, oh.
Speaker 1 (25:08):
Number sixty four. This happened earlier this year. We are
the b experts here on the Minute skin Show. I
think I mainly messed with hornets and stuff. I don't
see bees very often, don't they in there?
Speaker 5 (25:20):
One that if you kill it, it's like signals to
the others.
Speaker 1 (25:24):
It's the wasp.
Speaker 6 (25:25):
Is that the Do you have ever heard of this?
Speaker 1 (25:26):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (25:27):
And I do think ye was as well.
Speaker 1 (25:29):
Come over here. They're trying to kill men. Now you
got one shot to defend themselves. Oh the wasp, well
one of them? What do we all sound? Really know
what you're saying? They have a load and once they
unload it, they don't can't. There's no refractory time. They're
just their careers over one shot. Yeah, one shining.
Speaker 6 (25:47):
Moment, is that right?
Speaker 1 (25:48):
Yeah? You believe that?
Speaker 5 (25:49):
I don't think any of us know anything about this
topic like it is. It is the four biggest know nothings,
just all offering the things that we heard somewhere in
the last seven or eight years, anecdotally from someone that
we didn't trust in the first place. Shows anecdotally from
someone we didn't trust in the first place. That's exactly right.
(26:11):
He find myself doing that everyone. So while I'm like, no,
I heard this, I'm like, wait, oh, I heard that
from someone I don't trust.
Speaker 1 (26:17):
He kind of snapped into like some like Asperger's face
kicked in.
Speaker 5 (26:21):
I don't think any of us know anything about this topic.
You can say that, did he sound sassy? I don't
think any of anything.
Speaker 6 (26:32):
I don't think any of us know anything about this topic.
Speaker 5 (26:34):
I mean, if you just picture him snapping his fingers, snap,
get it, girl.
Speaker 1 (26:38):
I don't think any of us know.
Speaker 6 (26:39):
I don't like any of us.
Speaker 8 (26:41):
No.
Speaker 1 (26:42):
Number sixty three is weirdly labeled. Uh dicktared Okay, why
is Dick and Richard together? Well, have all the proper names,
but like, if it's Steve and it's Steve, if it's Gerald,
it's Jerry. Why did Richard and Dick and didn't even
start with the same letter. You know, yo know what
I'm saying.
Speaker 5 (27:00):
Yeah, for a long time, Dick Chard was a very
popular name. Dick jud Johnson was a very common name.
That's what I said, dicktrid Johnson family in Missouri.
Speaker 1 (27:09):
Who was the very first Richard. Maybe that's why he's
to blame.
Speaker 5 (27:12):
If you were the first Richard, give us a call
to one four. I would love to hear from you,
very first Richard, very dumb. I think I squeeze one
more in here.
Speaker 1 (27:23):
You're gonna do one. This is the one we were
talking about. There's some thunderstorms coming and and Bill Paxton
form from Twister. I often can go down and fill
the gravel and look up and kind of tell it
the ground.
Speaker 6 (27:36):
Yeah, you've got guys.
Speaker 3 (27:38):
Man.
Speaker 5 (27:38):
My wife does not take severe weather seriously at all,
and she knows you could also just drive away from
it if it were something.
Speaker 6 (27:45):
That right now, that's the worst your path. That's the
worst advice.
Speaker 1 (27:49):
Okay, it's the worst advice from a guy who's been
outside before the show, holding the gravel in my hands,
shaking it, looking up at the sky, getting a good
feel for what's gonna happen.
Speaker 6 (27:57):
Later, What are you a Native American?
Speaker 1 (28:06):
Shaking the gravel, looking at the sky?
Speaker 4 (28:08):
Looking up?
Speaker 5 (28:08):
And these are just some of the back part of
the top sixty nine reasons why we got this opportunity
to move to mornings next Monday on lone Star ninety
two to five. Coming up next, Christina, where are you
gonna take us in the cookie jar? Oh?
Speaker 7 (28:21):
We got another stage fail and this one involves a cannon.
Speaker 1 (28:25):
Next on the Eagle, back.
Speaker 5 (28:26):
To the bit and skin show. Indeed, coming up here
in ten minutes. Did why did the Rangers do nothing?
Why didn't they do anything yesterday? I never know what
they're doing. We'll talk about that here in in ten minutes,
but right now it stand for this.
Speaker 8 (28:40):
It's time to pop the top, breach your hands in.
It's grab atreat from Christina's cooky jars.
Speaker 7 (29:08):
For the legendary band ac DC. They are currently on tour.
Hell yeah, and man, I have failed. I have not
seen them live ever, and I should have seen them
last time they were here. But they had a show
in Vegas over the weekend and during their final song
hopefully this isn't a spoiler for anyone, but their final
(29:29):
song for those about to rock they have these cannons
come out, Civil War era cannons. They look badass. But
there was a little mishap that happened over the weekend
and I got a video and audio, So hold on
one second.
Speaker 5 (29:48):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (29:48):
So they're coming to the end of stage. Cannons are approaching.
Speaker 3 (29:54):
Okay, know these cannons kind of malfunctions, just falls down
and it's just a prop, but something falls out of
it and almost hits Brian Johnson right in the head.
Speaker 7 (30:12):
It looks like it's not a cannon ball. There's a
different angle for it.
Speaker 1 (30:17):
Oh my god, this angle.
Speaker 7 (30:20):
Here is better.
Speaker 1 (30:24):
Oh wow, Okay, yeah, that was it.
Speaker 7 (30:27):
Yeah yeah, So and you can see it hanging right there. Again,
it's not a cannon, I don't know what. It doesn't
look like it's made out of foam or anything. Yeah,
but there's definitely something in there that that falls out
almost hits Brian Johnson on the head. He ducks out
of the way and then just keeps going and starts
singing and does the rest of the show no problem.
(30:47):
But he doesn't glance back at it a few times,
just so the.
Speaker 1 (30:51):
Crowd knows, like, yeah, I'm aware that almost.
Speaker 7 (30:53):
Hit me on the head would have killed him, but
it definitely would have injured him pretty bad.
Speaker 5 (30:59):
Godly, that's the danger of like of having props like that. Yeah, yeah,
I think of Stonehenge, you know, having the stone hits things.
That's why I'd make more sense to go with the
smaller version.
Speaker 1 (31:09):
Definitely the smaller ones. I know the guy, he's the
bass player for the Killers. All bass players have bad
backs though, which is weird, Yeah, but they do. It's
a heavy guitar. But he hurt his back bad in
a confetti cannon malfunction that was too far close. I
guess he was by it when it went on. Yeah,
that happened, and it kind of took him out of
(31:32):
the like he quit touring for a couple of years.
Speaker 6 (31:34):
Wow. And I still do the confetti cannon.
Speaker 7 (31:36):
So but PTSD from that right, he doesn't want to
be anywhere near that. The sounds well, so ac DC.
They have cannons in their act. They've had act that
for a long time. So Brian Johnson years ago, it's
like over ten years ago, he did mention just working
with these cannons, how dangerous it is. He said, I
could write a book about standing under the cannon for
(31:56):
thirty years horrible sparks come out from them and at
the end of the show of burnmarks over my shoulders.
Speaker 1 (32:03):
So that's what I'm thinking. I don't think these actually
go off anymore.
Speaker 7 (32:06):
He's probably done with that, but still scary. Close call
for when Brian Johnson, but he's.
Speaker 1 (32:12):
Okay, I want to go see ac DC now that
part look right there, looked amazing, right.
Speaker 5 (32:19):
Love seeing all those amps stacked up like that.
Speaker 6 (32:22):
That's a cool look.
Speaker 1 (32:23):
You know, it's like we're just going about to rock
your brain off. What's louder the Odyssey in theaters? Are
seeing a CDC based on those amps? Probably say a man,
there's just so much running back to the boat. There's
a lot of running back to the boat, back to
the boat. I'm finally seeing that.
Speaker 7 (32:39):
In September, Mike bought tickets at the actual like giant screen. Yes,
and we have great seats right in the middle.
Speaker 1 (32:46):
Nice.
Speaker 7 (32:47):
So give me a month and I can finally understand
the Odyssey references.
Speaker 1 (32:50):
Try not to spoil it, Okay.
Speaker 7 (32:52):
Speaking of movies, this was announced just this morning Lincoln Park.
They've been working on that movie called Unshatter, and it's
basically a documentary following the path that they've had to
go down without Chester, finding a new lead singer, and
just getting back out there. So it's gonna be really emotional.
But they announced that is officially coming to theater September thirtieth.
(33:15):
Oh okay, so here in just what yeah, a little over,
basically a documentary.
Speaker 1 (33:22):
They're the biggest band of the two thousands. I think
I was reading I'm reading this old Radiohead book, which
it's written by the guy who's writing the Strokes book
that comes out in September, so I'm kind of reading
this guy's stuff. But he was mentioning how the Radiohead
album in two thousand, kid a, it took them two
years to no, no, I'm sorry. He was talking about
the Strokes first album, which was huge. Yeah, it took
(33:43):
them two years to sell as many albums as Lincoln
Park's second album did in one week. Oh my god,
Like that's how big Lincoln Park was in the early
two thousands.
Speaker 6 (33:53):
I love them.
Speaker 5 (33:54):
I don't know what it is, you know, I've always
loved rapping hip hop, and there's that element to what
they do. It's like this meshing of different styles and man,
if you just I don't know, you just want a
badass song to like. Christina likes to drive fast and
bad as songs. Yes, that's good driving music, man, Yes.
Speaker 1 (34:11):
It definitely is.
Speaker 7 (34:12):
So you can see there's a trailer out by the way,
and that trailers up on YouTube. And if you want
more info, just unshattermovie dot com.
Speaker 6 (34:19):
All right, hell yes, thank you Christina. Coming up next.
Speaker 5 (34:22):
Why did the Rangers do nothing almost nothing yesterday? We'll
talk about it next before we get there. Thank you
to our friends at the Chalk Tak Casino and Resort.
Such a good time. Right up the road, get away
to it all to Chalk Talk Casino and Resort and Durant, Oklahoma.
Just head up through Sherman up seventy five, cross that
Oklahoma Texas border.
Speaker 6 (34:37):

Speaker 5 (34:38):
That's where millionaires are made. They said this, they started
when the summer started. They said three people are gonna
win one million dollars each at Chalktaw Durant. One of
them could be you. So they gave away a million
dollars on June sixth, gave away a million dollars on
July eleventh, and they're giving away a million dollars one
more time. Now here we are August fourth. There's one
(34:58):
final time this summer for you to get to the
Chalktaw Casino in Resort Durant, Oklahoma. Just earn entries by

They've got twenty plus restaurants, they've got twenty plus bars,
they got the swim up pool, they got the Grand Theater,
they got Gillies, they got seventy four hundred slot machines,
one hundred plus table games in the big beautiful poker room.
And I just love how many smoke free options there
(35:40):
are up here where the air is crisp. Anyways, go
check out the chalk Tawk Casino in Resort in Durant, Oklahoma,
and good luck. I hope you win a million. Mail
all right coming up today at five point fifteen. Waterburger Wednesdays.
That's the thing. We'll tell you what it is and
search de surroy something interesting. These are two local stories
you need to know about out all, coming your way
(36:01):
today at five point fifteen.
Speaker 6 (36:01):
But right now, it's time for this.
Speaker 8 (36:03):
He's interrational, quick triggered, nuclear overreactor.
Speaker 6 (36:08):
He's a masterful storyteller who.
Speaker 8 (36:10):
Consistently finds himself drowning in a sea of awkward.
Speaker 6 (36:14):
It's time for no trundy in Ben.
Speaker 1 (36:19):
All right.
Speaker 5 (36:19):
Sometimes I bring you the Internet because I know you
guys won't let me send you links to things that
I see on the Internet because you don't want to
taint your algorithms.
Speaker 6 (36:27):
So I'm gonna share it. Wait, why i'd say it
in a concerned way?
Speaker 8 (36:29):
Oh?
Speaker 5 (36:29):
Nothing, So I'm going to share some audio with you
guys that won't hurt your algorithms. Okay, this is a
guy I stumbled across. His name is Whiskey Jennings. Now
here's a guy. Here's a guy. Whiskey Jennings is his name,
And I kept stumbling across this on the timeline. His
whole bit is super observational. He's like cowboyed out sunglasses,
(36:51):
a really good microphone, and he's just like, you know,
people who drink doctor pepper.
Speaker 6 (36:57):
You know, here's what you need to know about them.
Speaker 1 (36:59):
He can't look like Toby Keith.
Speaker 5 (37:01):
Kind of looks like skinny Toby Keith, super small, miniature
mini Toby. Anyways, now that I've heard this so many times,
he does it for anything. It's like people who use pins.
Here's what you know about people use pins. People who
use pins are going to write stuff down, and what
they write down, they're gonna go back and look at
that later and then probably read it, and then they'll
know those things. And I'm just like, it's observational. He's
(37:22):
never saying anything, but I can't get.
Speaker 6 (37:25):
Enough of it. Here's some examples of it.
Speaker 1 (37:26):
Mountain dew is what you drink when you love life.
Speaker 6 (37:30):
You ain't apologizing for it.
Speaker 4 (37:32):
There are values, and my values just line up so well,
you know, just American and a little over caffeinateds and a.
Speaker 1 (37:41):
Lot of caffeinated What.
Speaker 6 (37:44):
Give us a couple more?
Speaker 1 (37:44):
You say, caffeinateds, caffinateds. Okay, here's the one where he's
talking about, uh, hold on, Mexican women love treats.
Speaker 4 (37:54):
So if you date in a Mexican woman, or you're
trying to get Mexican women, you got to keep like
a Lucas but Lucas in your pocket, you know, and
you got to keep some damn mango slices on you
because Mexican women love them treats.
Speaker 6 (38:06):
Some of them love them a little too much, you
know what I'm saying.
Speaker 4 (38:09):
You can't let a Mexican woman have unlimited access to
treats because they'll overdo it.
Speaker 1 (38:15):
Uh No, I mean I think in the culture. Yeah,
I think they do love sweets, But don't white people
love we all love sweets.
Speaker 6 (38:23):
Think we all do.
Speaker 1 (38:25):
Mango slices. Yeah, that's definitely weird. Thing in your bucket
here is girls who watched Shrek.
Speaker 4 (38:33):
If a girl says she wants to watch Shrek, she's
going through something, all right, So just let her watch it.
It's like part of the process. Man, It's like damn
therapy Shrek is. Watching Shrek is like damn therapy for everybody.
Speaker 1 (38:46):
I kind of agree, dude watching Shrek, but these things
are so short and he's not really going anywhere, but
he's kind of going somewhere. How about people who drive
forwards that one. Maybe I lost it, Okay, sorry.
Speaker 5 (39:02):
People who drive trucks or they're like they're carrying stuff
in there in the back.
Speaker 4 (39:07):
Men who drive the F one fifty other. Damn heart
of America. Those kinds of guys are the reason that
America is what it is because I'm the ones building everything,
getting everything done. The real hard working men of America
choose F one fifty.
Speaker 1 (39:23):
Yeah he's right. Uh, he's trying to get a sponsorship
deal doing it for every single thing.
Speaker 7 (39:30):
It's weird because you can't really explain it, but you
can just say, yeah, he's right, right, yeah, exact.
Speaker 6 (39:35):
People who you gum.
Speaker 5 (39:37):
Those are people who are like trying to make their
breath smell better and also they're keeping their mouths busy.
Speaker 1 (39:43):
Diet coke drinkers.
Speaker 4 (39:45):
Diet coke drinkers are the reason that America is what
it is today. But if we took away diet coke,
nothing would get done because all the most productive people
drink that coke. I'm the hardest workers Diet coke drinkers. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (40:00):
There was a funny comedian, well funniest you know, subjective,
but his joke is if they if RFK Junior tries
to take diet coke away from me. He goes, I
will do a J six and not one like they
did a few years ago where they're just dancing in
the hallways. He's really going to do it. Well, that
(40:21):
was they really were celebrating that day.
Speaker 8 (40:23):
Bro.
Speaker 5 (40:23):
There are people who are straight up addicted to diet coke.
Speaker 1 (40:27):
Oh yeah, it's the millennial cigarette.
Speaker 6 (40:30):
Are you one?
Speaker 1 (40:31):
I am. I like coke zero. I think a little
bit more. But yeah, a new study out today that
says people who have sodas every day are addicted to
soda are at a higher risk of a cognitive decline.
Speaker 5 (40:43):
Yes, thank you, Kevin nailed it. You're seeing a tough
news for you. Coming up next, it's the Today game
right here in the Eagle. All right, this is the
world famous Been and Skin Show. Thank you, thank you,
thank you for tuning in today and every day over
the past six plus years. It's been an honor to
be your canoon Drive show on ninety seven one the Eagle.
You know, having grown up here and having grown up
(41:04):
here in Dallas Fort Worth and we're all here from
DFW or the surrounding birds. You know, Skin and I
grew up in Richardson, And you know we met in
nineteen eighty two, and I bet that year that we met,
I probably had an Eagle ninety seven sticker on my door.
And you know my brother down the hallway for me
had a Q one oh two sticker on his door.
And you know, it's just been an absolute honor to
(41:25):
do our show here.
Speaker 8 (41:26):
Now.
Speaker 5 (41:26):
The reason I'm saying this is, if you haven't heard,
we're leaving the Eagle. So starting Monday, we will be
the new morning show on lone Star ninety two five
and that's where we'll be posted up for the foreseeable future.
So if you've dug our show and you like us,
we hope you'll follow us over to lone Star ninety
two five. We'll be on from six to nine am
moving forward. And if you listen to us via podcast,
(41:47):
nothing will change. You'll still it's still an iHeart station.
You'll still keep getting us the exact same way. But
big thanks to everybody who's had us here, and the
Eagle is going to be playing more rock moving forward.
Speaker 8 (41:57):
Now.
Speaker 5 (41:57):
Coming up here in ten minutes, We've got two local stores,
as you need to know about. One is about seventy
six cent items and Waterburger, and the other is about
how you can search and find a one thousand dollars prize.
Speaker 6 (42:08):
But right now it's staff for this cowboy.
Speaker 1 (42:14):
Surprise. If you think some Cowboys camp, the pads are
on now. So things are getting serious, right. John Mashoda
of The Athletic and the One Star Cowboys podcast says,
(42:38):
one of our concerns this year was Tyler guid in
the left tackle says he's pulling away. There's no left
tackle competition anymore. That's great news.
Speaker 5 (42:45):
After one day, we know that that's great news. Though well,
I guess they would have said that. I mean, he
would know because he's talking all the sources, so it'd
be on beyond just watching it with your eyeballs, but
that it would be great news. Like we also, so
we don't do deep into sports here on the Eagle,
nor will we do that on lone Star ninety two five.
But we've created our own sports network that's independent of
(43:07):
all those called Haymaker, and so you can watch it
on YouTube, you can listen to the podcast and so forth.
We do super deep dives. And I hosted a show
today called star Time that's our Dallas Cowboys show. By
the way, Thursday Star time, Darren Woodson's going to come
join me. What it's going to be Me and Darren
Woodson on Thursday. So looking forward to that. But we
had on two of our media guys that are there
in Aux Nard and I was super curious. I'm like, man,
(43:29):
I'm taking the bait here. I'm falling for the banana
and the tailpipe again. I think the Cowboys are going
to be really, really good this year. And so I
was asking the guys what are the concerns and there's
not a lot of them. Like going into camp, one
of the biggest concerns is what is going to happen
at left tackle? And now you're telling me I'm a
show to saying no, we're good. Tyler Gouiden, former first
round pick, is running away with it. That's insane. That's
(43:51):
great news. He's pulled away now. That might just be
an indictment of the other people. I did see Tyler
Guiden crushed and Marvin Over shown yesterday and one of
those you know, it's just practice, you know, but you
can't tell anything until they put the pads on. They
were eleven days away for the first preseason game. Now
another thing they need, though you could use a little
more help on defense. Obviously, it's retooling the whole thing.
(44:13):
Von Miller is a guy who has lived in this
area for a long time.
Speaker 1 (44:16):
Went to high school in the area. I'm not sure
where he went high school, but he's definitely like you know,
went to Texas A and m a very good pass
rusher for many years. He went to De Soto. So
the last couple of weeks he's been putting some weird
stuff on Instagram. Not weird stuff, he's just been He's
doing a bit and I think he's one of the
he's thirty seven. They don't care if he goes to
(44:37):
training camp or not. He's gonna sign with someone. And
I don't even know how much more gas he has
left in the tank. But he's posted a few videos
about being in Dallas, and then yesterday on his Instagram
story it was now tagged with it was the meat
Church guy, but it was tagged in Auxnard, California. Does
(45:00):
that mean the meat Church guys in Oxnard, California, or
that von Miller was an ox Stard California. I think
if von Miller was there, it would be a bigger story.
Because ever time you go back to von Miller's Instagram store,
he's working out here in Dallas somewhere, so wow man,
and he's making like things like I just want to
get my money and all this stuff. I thank you THEO.
(45:21):
So it's something I don't know. He had nine sacks
last year. Damn what six year old? Yeah, that would
have led the Cowboys, right or nine or two? I
think you would have probably yeah, sixth the year before
that in Buffalo. I mean he's he's not like he'd
have to be a starter anymore.
Speaker 5 (45:40):
No, all he has to do is come in on
for sure passing downs. Yeah, we'll give you three million
dollars right now.
Speaker 1 (45:46):
We'll give you an extra five million dollars based on incentives.
Go play good, We'll give you some extra money. I
like it. I think that's like good and can help.
Maybe he signs with the Rams and goes ring chasing
because they got Miles Garrett and he's been there before.
But something to watch and interesting that he's tagging Oxnard
in his Instagram story.
Speaker 6 (46:06):
How about that? All right?
Speaker 5 (46:07):
Coming up next, we have two local stories you need
to know about. One involves how you can get items
at Waterburger for super cheap. The other is how you
could find I don't know. It's a little hidden thing
throughout DFW that has one thousand dollars in it. All
that's coming away next right here on the Eagle before
we get there, thinking to our friends at Parish Roofing,
Parish Roofing Solutions, Randy Parrish owns that company, small family
(46:29):
owned business. And I talked to Randy on my way
into work yesterday.
Speaker 6 (46:32):
Just a great guy.
Speaker 5 (46:33):
He was happy for us about the announcement about us
moving to Lone Star ninety two five.
Speaker 6 (46:37):
And we are too.
Speaker 5 (46:39):
We've enjoyed our time here at the Eagle, but we're
also excited about Lone Star and we see this all
is one big happy, iHeart family. But Randy's gonna come
with us and he's gonna partner with us over at
lone Star ninety two five.
Speaker 6 (46:50):
And I just know this.
Speaker 5 (46:52):
If you're you're living in Dallas Fort Worth, we get hail,
we get high winds. It can do a number on
our roofs. And if a little bit of water is
getting into your house because your shingles have been damaged,
just a little bit, it can lead to a massive
financial repair. So call Randy Parris, let him come out
check your roof for you and just make sure it's
water tight. If it is, you got nothing to worry
about now when you trust these roofers going door to
(47:12):
door in your neighborhood. There's no licensing for roofers in
the state of Texas, so it could literally be anybody.
A lot of these guys aren't even real companies. They
just go higher subcontractors. If some poor sucker lets them
up on their roof while they're going door to door,
don't trust any of those guys. Trust our guy, Randy Parrish.
Call him right now, set up a consultation. Let him
just come look at your roof for you. Two one
four two two seven eight four eight eight. That's two
(47:34):
one four two two seven eight four eight eight for
Parish Roofing.
Speaker 1 (47:39):
It's the Ben Skin Show ninety seven to one the
Eagle for one more week. Next Monday, we're moving to
lone Star ninety two five. The big announcement happened yesterday morning.
Bend Skin, Christina Ray and myself will be going to
lone Star ninety two five to do six to nine
am starting next Monday morning.
Speaker 6 (47:57):
But right now let's do this.
Speaker 1 (47:59):
Are you exciting gets featuring veteran news anchor Kati's fun
tweets spot that we can still be on the radio
doing the show on the Eagle this week before we
move over to lone Star, and I have ways to
help people save money and win money in this segment.
(48:20):
All right, we'll start with water Burger seventy sixth anniversary
for them. So every Wednesday in August to tomorrow, they
are rolling out a menu item that will have a
seventy six cent menu item. I'll save more money in
this economy. Tomorrow a seventy six cent taketo with cheese. Yes,
(48:42):
so six to eleven am okay? So just the takita
with cheese. You can't add bacon or potatoes. That's an extra.
I bet, I bet you can't. I bet it'll have
one of those yeah, okay, sausage, okato. I would get
mine bacon, potato, sausage, cheese, no egg. Really, you're a
(49:03):
potato guy, though the potato can serve as the cushion
that the egg provides. Yeah, yeah, cushion. But yeah, my
friend Jake Camp, our friend Jake Camp from the Dumb
Zone cannot get over this that I if I was
ordering a taketo bacon potato sausage. No egg, it's not
a taketo. Yeah, the egg is.
Speaker 6 (49:24):
One of the most important parts to it. It keeps
it together.
Speaker 1 (49:27):
No, the other potato does that too.
Speaker 6 (49:31):
No, it's not. It's not binding agent. It's not.
Speaker 8 (49:33):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (49:34):
It's also just another it's just another ingredient that's in there.
But it's not like the thing that puts it together.
I'll knock it till you try it, Okay, I'll tell
you that. That's a fair.
Speaker 1 (49:44):
Yeah to anyone who disagrees with you about anything.
Speaker 6 (49:46):
Yeah, now that you put it that way, I'm interested
in trying it.
Speaker 1 (49:50):
Every hateful comment we received yesterday, Yeah, which you'll get
a few really every day, have mine and I get
a couple. I'm looking till you try it. Man. That's
a great point.
Speaker 6 (50:02):
That's a good that's a good.
Speaker 1 (50:03):
Way responding to that right now, that's they want to like,
bow up and go. I did try it, right, all right?
Yeah it wasn't for me. Okay, sorry, man, Hey, it
could it can be right. You don't want it to
be for you. Don't knock it till you try it.
August eighth, is National Waterburger Day by one get one
waterworker there you know, well, Bogo love Bogo. August twelfth,
(50:26):
the sixteen outs water fresher. That's a drink. That's what
they're giving for some day. Okay, don't knock it to you.
Speaker 7 (50:32):
Yes, they're actually they're actually doing it too. This is
a very nice thing.
Speaker 6 (50:36):
Yeah, and it's it's smart.
Speaker 5 (50:37):
I think it's smart marketing for them too, because they're
celebrating seventy six years and they're getting you to come
in and try a bunch of different things.
Speaker 6 (50:43):
Yeah, for seventy six cents.
Speaker 1 (50:45):
August nineteenth, the seventy six cent big Ranch wrap. Oh in,
and they August twenty sixth, the seventy six cents signature
chicken sandwich. All right, signature you put.
Speaker 5 (50:56):
Six year like it's just a chicken sandwich, You'll be like,
but it's at their signature. Like, this is not just
a show we're doing today. It's a signature show, signature show,
Beniskin's signature show today here in the Eagle. This is
not our chicken scratch show, right, So congratulations to you
for being able to hear one of our signature shows.
Speaker 1 (51:14):
Now a way to win money I promised you that
it's coming too. It's our friends over at the circ
Desroyd podcast video cast a video show every Tuesday and
Thursday night eight to ten pm. And at the end
of their show they do a very fun interactive thing
called a Marble race, and you can enter and win
and have a chance to win money doing that. By
the way, if you win three races. I haven't won
(51:35):
one yet, but if you get so, if you stock
pile three wins and Marble races, then you can win,
which is it's a twitch thing. All you gotta is
put your name in the Twitch chat and you're in
the Marble race. But they have launched a new scavenger
hunt called Search de surroy so good, so listen tonight
to their podcast because they're going to give away the
(51:55):
first clue. Right. Yes, they've got four marbles hidden out
in DFW.
Speaker 5 (52:02):
But dude, they look like aliens. Brom They're so finely
hand crafted. They look cool as hell. I don't even
I've never seen anything as cool as I don't even
know what it is.
Speaker 6 (52:10):
Orbs. Yeah, they're little orbs.
Speaker 1 (52:13):
The little marbles.
Speaker 6 (52:16):
Are they marble?
Speaker 1 (52:16):
Are they No? I'll tell you how they made them.
Speaker 6 (52:19):
Okay, well they're badass for sure.
Speaker 5 (52:21):
Like whatever they are, it's and this has captured the
attention of the entire Metroplex, like I saw, I'm on
the news.
Speaker 6 (52:27):
Yeah, talking about this everyon Fox four the.
Speaker 1 (52:29):
Other day, so everyone knows. So a scavenger hunt, which timeless. Yeah,
everyone loves a scavenger hunt. Like we can talk about
technology and going analog and on that stuff. The scavenger
hunt will last forever. I think, Hey, I can't take
away our scavenger hunts, but especially when money's involved. Yeah,
so a chance to win one thousand dollars for each
marble that you collect. God, are you gonna give away
(52:52):
the first clues tonight on their on their thing on YouTube.
Speaker 5 (52:54):
Yeah, Circuit Desroys the name of the show. If you
want a free grand go go watch that. The show
is called Cirk de Siroy. One of the biggest shows
in the history of Dallas for worth of course, those
Soroy boys and Danny's on the show now and everything
they do is just cool and funny and awesome. Just
the name of this. The show is called Cirk Deay Siroy.
(53:16):
This is called Search de Siroy. Like everything they do
is perfections.
Speaker 1 (53:20):
Kind of perfect.
Speaker 6 (53:20):
It's just awesome.
Speaker 1 (53:22):
So I'm wondering where the balls are hidden. DFW Ready
for that first clue.
Speaker 7 (53:27):
He didn't even tell me, really, which is very safe
because I know people would come up to me and
try to, yeah, get me to say something.
Speaker 1 (53:33):
I have no idea.
Speaker 6 (53:34):
It was weird.
Speaker 5 (53:35):
I did see some video footage that was going around
on you know, some internal stuff with Rollertown. Cash Leroy
was recently up there rummaging around. Oh and it was
at night, and so I sleep there, and so I
popped up out of bed, got my shotgun, and I
ran off to run him off because I saw h
rummages do some stuff. But by the time I got
(53:55):
out there, he was long gone. Because he's still very fast.
The Soroy boys were raised by speedboat racer and so
they're both very.
Speaker 1 (54:02):
Fast, and Troy is French for haole ass.
Speaker 5 (54:04):
That's right, it is, and they were I'm telling you,
he got out of there, so I don't know if
he was hiding something at Rollertown or if he was
just rummaging, because sometimes people go up there to rummage
for stuff.
Speaker 1 (54:14):
Yeah, we'll go to Rollertown and see what you can
figure out, I know first clear to night though.
Speaker 5 (54:19):
Yeah on YouTube, well yes, God, God bless those boys.
And if you're not, if you're not watching Circus Roy
then come on, man, you're doing it wrong. God, they're
they're the absolute goats, all right. Coming up next it's
the audio bubble bath. Where are you going to take
a ktee?
Speaker 1 (54:33):
I have the bloopers from the month of July from
our show next on ninety seven one the Eagle.
Speaker 5 (54:37):
Before we get there, thank you to Frankel and Frankel,
Mark Frankels, Mark Frankel, Scott Frankel and Jean Burquette. Those
are the three partners at Franklin Frankel. Local guys standing
by now ready to help you, and they can help you.
If you've been involved in a wreck. Costs you nothing
to call the Frankeles. They only get paid if they
reach a settlement on your behalf. So did you recently
get into a wreck? I hope you didn't. If you
(54:57):
do get into a wreck, remember to call the Frankeles.
But if you are a friend, a coworker, somebody you
know has been involved in a wreck, man let them
know to call the Frankeles. Two one four three three
three three three three three two one four all threes
for the greatness of Franklin frankl. You see them nominated
for best lawyers in town all the time. It's a
huge honor. Sometimes they win awards that are voted on
(55:19):
by their peers, sometime by their customers, their clients. You
know that that was me? Uh I called the Frankeles
from my scene. They fought the other side, set up
the MRIs X rays and physical therapy, and at the
end of it all, Franklin Frankel got me a nice
cash settlement. So if you've been involved in a wreck
called the Frankeles two one four three three three thirty
three thirty three.
Speaker 1 (55:37):
Fr nk e L call Frankel. First.
Speaker 5 (55:42):
By the way, if you ever catch anybody rummaging through
your stuff when you run out there, do you just
fire the shotgun in the air to let them know
you mean business, or do you run out there and.
Speaker 1 (55:50):
Go get get get, get gille now.
Speaker 6 (55:55):
Okay, get know now gell yone now you know.
Speaker 5 (56:00):
Hey, you say hey, kind of let them know you're there,
and yeah, you get you get and do you go
do you cock the shotgun?
Speaker 1 (56:09):
Uh?
Speaker 6 (56:09):
Oh of course in warning shot, warning shot or no
warning shot?
Speaker 8 (56:14):
No?
Speaker 1 (56:14):
No warning shot? You want to say them, let me hear it?
Speaker 6 (56:16):
What you do?
Speaker 5 (56:17):
I'm a rummagen. You run outside, open the screen door,
and what happens? I chase you with a chainsaw that
I keep underneath my bed.
Speaker 1 (56:24):
Pretty good?
Speaker 5 (56:25):
Idn't like that? You've probably catched me? Hopefully the chainsaw
would slow.
Speaker 1 (56:28):
You down a little bit if you approaching a chainsaw.
Speaker 5 (56:31):
If you were chasing me with a chainsaw, would both
of us stop and rest at different points?
Speaker 8 (56:36):
Or would you?
Speaker 6 (56:37):
Would you?
Speaker 5 (56:37):
Because it's heavy for you, You're faster than me and
younger than me. You could catch me, But if you're
carrying an industrial chainsaw, it might be hard to catch me. No, no, no,
I mean I get good legs. But if I stop
and rest, are you also gonna? Are we gonna walk
chase each other for that?
Speaker 1 (56:53):
Maybe it's when you do catch up to them, what
do you do? Just right in the back?
Speaker 5 (56:59):
Like what it's You're not really gonna kill me though
you're just sitting You want me to stop rummages?
Speaker 1 (57:03):
You get through my stuff, get out of my stuff?
Speaker 6 (57:05):
Mark? And then what are you gotta say? Christine?
Speaker 7 (57:07):
You run outside to hear you do it. Actually, I
would just have my dogs go after Hendricks good. See okay, yeah,
sick sick.
Speaker 5 (57:15):
Uh.
Speaker 6 (57:16):
All right, that's a good redactment. Right now, it's time
for this.
Speaker 1 (57:28):
Christina and I have compiled the best July bloopers for
the month of July. Yes, today's August fourth, and you
know we always do this.
Speaker 6 (57:37):
So myself to introduce myself and.
Speaker 1 (57:39):
In the month we have to take a look. Now
we're discussing a story. You're having a bit of a
dilemma where you've had some you know, your daughter's what
fourteen now fifteen going on sixteen? Dude, it's a high
school aged guys now kind of lingering around all the time.
Speaker 6 (57:53):
So bad.
Speaker 1 (57:53):
And we're discussing you and that problem that you're dealing with. Man,
and I was like, honey, are you not worried about this?
Dudes are six four and she you know, on them
had a beard. I'm like, are you worried about this?
Speaker 6 (58:05):
And she goes no. I'm like, well why she goes,
because this is our reality.
Speaker 8 (58:10):
Now?
Speaker 5 (58:10):
Would you rather be six four or five four? General
note Ben looked over at Cat was like, honey, are
you okay? With us, and one of those guys was
holding cat in his arms.
Speaker 1 (58:22):
Like she No, I'm fine with this great tonight, missus Rogers.
Speaker 6 (58:28):
Hey, what are you taking in the fall. It's okay, dude,
I hate father Time.
Speaker 5 (58:35):
Kids grow up. That's great news segment father Time with
Ben Rogers.
Speaker 1 (58:42):
What he's done, Show them, show them he means business.
Speaker 6 (58:49):
That would be funny if you whipped it out and
showed those boys.
Speaker 5 (58:52):
Were you referencing my wife's Jesus, Ben, he's talking to.
Speaker 6 (58:56):
You, Christine, No, listener, listens, just.
Speaker 1 (59:07):
Back to back you guys.
Speaker 9 (59:09):
Yeah, yeah, it happened. And you know what, we bleeped
it just to be safe, but air fine. It did
actually air biological thing and it's a strategy to Okay,
let's squeeze in one more before we get ready for
the big finish.
Speaker 1 (59:29):
Here, This one I have labeled. It has been labeled
as skin. Assumes that Kevin knows the ticket sales of
a venue tonight at the south Side Ballroom, Flyleaf Let's Go.
Speaker 6 (59:47):
Is that sold out?
Speaker 1 (59:49):
I don't know. I don't know why I thought you
might work in tickets over there.
Speaker 6 (59:52):
That's weird.
Speaker 1 (59:53):
It's specifically know if the south Side ballroom. Is that skin?
Speaker 7 (01:00:01):
I believe the original lead singer Lacey, she's local, and
I believe she's back with them and she's gonna be
at the shows.
Speaker 1 (01:00:09):
That I a huge deal.
Speaker 5 (01:00:10):
I think it's likely it's sold out now that i've
heard that. Yeah, here's a bad question. It was sold out,
by the way it was. Yes, is that sold out?
Speaker 1 (01:00:21):
I don't know.
Speaker 6 (01:00:21):
I don't know why I thought you might work in
tickets over there.
Speaker 1 (01:00:25):
I was just supposed to.
Speaker 6 (01:00:26):
Know that, all right.
Speaker 5 (01:00:28):
The July show bloopers continue next right here on ninety
seven point one the Egle. We're making history. These are

Yes, this is the world famous Ben and Skin Show
in one of our final shows ever on the Eagle.
Speaker 6 (01:01:15):
This is the last week.
Speaker 5 (01:01:17):
We'll do our show today and then Wednesday, Thursday and Friday,
and then that'll be no more.
Speaker 6 (01:01:22):
We'll be gone. Have really enjoyed our time here on
ninety seven point one The Eagle. It's been a true
honor to be here on this, you.
Speaker 5 (01:01:29):
Know, this iconic radio station that we grew up listening
to here, But we're moving to lone Star ninety two
five starting on Monday morning, so we'll be on in
morning drive as the kids head back to school next
week six to nine am, the Ben and Skin Show,
I think they're calling it Ben and Skin Mornings lone
Star ninety two five starting next Monday. If you listened
to us via podcast, basically nothing will change. It'll still
(01:01:50):
be on the iHeart app because it's still an iHeart station.
This segment right here is brought to you by a
Rollertown Beer Works that is a little brewery that we're
invested in some of our partners also include Nowitzki and
Michael Young and Travis Frederick and all five guys from
Dude Perfect. And we've got a big new global headquarters
that's there in Frisco on Main Street and it's a
(01:02:11):
great place to hang out. The beers are ice cold.
We have Tommy Miller makes our beer. They're really really good.
We have a beer called the big German, which honors Dirk.
It's got minimal hops and a smooth finish just like Dirk.
And you can find it all throughout Dallas Fort Worth
on tap at a bunch of different restaurants and bars,
and then in grocery stores and of course stadiums. Even
so big thanks to everybody who's supporting our little brewery,
(01:02:32):
Rollertown Beer Works, and they bring us this again.
Speaker 1 (01:02:40):
This thing's big. So one thing that we do every
single month is you take a look at some of
the clips from our show and review our work. Right,
you can only get better if you self scout, and
we will continue this tradition when we move over Alone
Star ninety two to five beginning next Monday six to
nine am. One clip that is interesting and this set
(01:03:01):
does involve you, Big Ben it's labeled what has been
trying to say? But so it's so funny about him
those people on my side of the family that are
more into soccer than the other side of the family.
Uh huh. We're saying that he's kind of known as
a fraud.
Speaker 6 (01:03:14):
What does that mean?
Speaker 1 (01:03:15):
Like he was not that good, but every time the
World Cup happens, he shows out, like in like regular
play that he's not that good.
Speaker 6 (01:03:22):
Oh okay, how many of those guys are like there
are like do you yep?
Speaker 1 (01:03:31):
I never forgot how many of those guys It's a
great question. I don't I.
Speaker 5 (01:03:38):
Don't have a really strong handle on soccer or really just
don't watch it that much. And so I think I
was trying to say, of all these stars of the
World Cup, how many of them are like on badass
pro teams that we might watch every now and then. Yeah, Like,
was there any anybody from the MLS on any of
those teams?
Speaker 6 (01:03:55):
Even the United States team?
Speaker 1 (01:03:56):
Yep? Okay, a couple a few, problem most of them mad? Yeah,
how many of those guys are like they are like
you yep? Awesome? Awesome.
Speaker 7 (01:04:12):
It's kind of like the meme where John Bolta walks
in and looks to the side and then puts his
arm out.
Speaker 1 (01:04:17):
You know that meme? Yeah, I believe really funny. We
were talking about something for whatever reason, I was trying
to set the table to go around the horn and
let everyone go. But in doing that, I'm I would
go last, okay, and this happened. What's your favorite emoji.
Speaker 6 (01:04:40):
Around the horn?
Speaker 7 (01:04:42):
I mean the one I use the most is the
smiley face with the hands, Like.
Speaker 1 (01:04:46):
The hands going up and down like the extra happy
smiley face is my favorite handschuffed hands. Yeah, that's my
favorite skin.
Speaker 5 (01:04:54):
I like the uh the old Chinese woman wearing the hat.
Speaker 6 (01:05:00):
Yeah for me, it's not even close. It's the hot dog.
Speaker 1 (01:05:03):
The hot dog.
Speaker 6 (01:05:04):
Yeah, for me, it's the mind man. What about you Kevin?
Speaker 1 (01:05:12):
If we just sitting.
Speaker 5 (01:05:16):
There dancing shoes waiting for someone to.
Speaker 1 (01:05:20):
Ask him to dance, I'm can I say building with
horn on it? The horn on it my favorite one?
Waiting to just do one stupid obscure reference. Come on, guys,
I like that they said it together. What about you, Katie?
Speaker 6 (01:05:38):
About you Kevin?
Speaker 1 (01:05:41):
Did we both say Kevin too? Yeah?
Speaker 6 (01:05:43):
I usually say kat what about you Kevin? What about you?
Speaker 1 (01:05:48):
Kevin? It's crazy. There's just a come on, I sent
everyone up to do this and don't even get a turn.
I want to fight to bend question.
Speaker 5 (01:06:01):
We need to bring back that Mexican guy that had
the huge dog that turned out to be a fake
and he had a huge sock on it that he
had stitched together.
Speaker 6 (01:06:08):
Have you guys ever used a This is just such
a weird question.
Speaker 5 (01:06:12):
Have you guys ever used a digital tape measure? Today,
when I thought my house was gonna blow up, the
fire chief came over, friend of mine, friend of mine,
(01:06:34):
and he pulled out this app and he goes, yeah,
this is thirty five inches and he measured, he measured,
put he clicked a button on a camera, moved it
to the other side, and it said thirty five Really. Yeah,
so the tape measure. If you work in the tape
measure business, pack your bags, clean up your desk, put
it all in a box.
Speaker 6 (01:06:51):
That's over. Hold on, that's terrible.
Speaker 5 (01:06:54):
I'm re uploading my tape measure nice And I hated
saying that because we have a lot of listeners here
that are part of the local tape measure community and
they're worried about their jobs and that was pretty much
the end.
Speaker 1 (01:07:06):
It's been taking a lot of people, putting them out
of business. Yeah, I hate to see that.
Speaker 5 (01:07:09):
Have you guys ever used a digital tape measure?
Speaker 6 (01:07:14):
I think you could slow.
Speaker 5 (01:07:15):
That down and it'd be like Bigfoot because I think
it just makes me sound even dumber.
Speaker 6 (01:07:23):
Let's see, have you guys ever.
Speaker 5 (01:07:25):
Used a digital tape measure?
Speaker 1 (01:07:29):
How drunk do I sound? Have you slowed down anymore?
I think I think I can. I think I can.
I think I can.
Speaker 8 (01:07:36):
Have you guys ever used a digital tape measure?
Speaker 1 (01:07:45):
Maybe not smoke?
Speaker 6 (01:07:47):
Okay?
Speaker 1 (01:07:48):
Moving on? Yeah to another clip. This is labeled sassy.
Speaker 6 (01:07:51):
Ben Man Summer League basketball? This year is different, is it?
Speaker 8 (01:07:57):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (01:07:57):
There's just so many new young.
Speaker 5 (01:08:00):
Pieces, like I mean res Yeah, I don't, I don't know,
like I don't. I don't have a good barometer. I
don't have a good feel. Did you hear a sassy
I sounded? I don't have a good barometer. But I
want to watch this.
Speaker 1 (01:08:21):
As soon as it happened.
Speaker 6 (01:08:22):
I remember, I.
Speaker 8 (01:08:25):
Don't.
Speaker 6 (01:08:25):
I don't have a good barometer. I don't have a
good good.
Speaker 1 (01:08:31):
Now I have three I mean former left, but these
three happened last Friday at Choctaw. We're doing our show
there and we got hung up on the old audio
from Trace Adkins, the former country star who's wife shot him.
He was on a podcast with the Ovon and he
was making funny sounds. We got caught up in that. Now,
this is part one of a three parter.
Speaker 5 (01:08:51):
No matter what happens to us in our future, in
our radio future, this.
Speaker 6 (01:08:54):
Has been one hell of a ride.
Speaker 1 (01:08:57):
I agree, Ben, And yesterday when we were listening to
that audio of country music star Trace Adkins' second wife
shooting him, it really was meaningful and impactful for me
because I've decided to live my life each day with
unbounding curiosity moving forward, because yeah, who knows your second
wife could just shoot you that Tray Atkins. Oh he's
(01:09:25):
not like a pig in that first.
Speaker 5 (01:09:26):
One, hanging out in cage.
Speaker 1 (01:09:29):
Yeah, okay, drop wow. But then we kept going a
little bit and this happened.
Speaker 5 (01:09:37):
I thought it was about some man that he had
scorned or something.
Speaker 1 (01:09:40):
Okay, I gotta stop here. Hold on, this is Skin
talking about something. Let's get Yeah, this is we're not
yet to the field calls part Sorry, this is label
Skins on thin ice with the company, which he is.
Speaker 5 (01:09:54):
You've been on thin ice based on how some of
these discussions have been going. I wouldn't be shocked to
see you not allowed to participate in radio for the
foreseeable future. You can, you can speculate on that all
you want.
Speaker 1 (01:10:08):
Just know, before I ever get fired, I.
Speaker 5 (01:10:11):
Will immediately go in before they can fire me and
say I have a substance abuse problem.
Speaker 6 (01:10:16):
I need help, and then hold on, you're fired.
Speaker 5 (01:10:20):
I'm very difficult to fire at that point. And I'm
gonna say and hey, I'm pretty sure I developed it
during meetings mandated by the company. Yeah, this morning.
Speaker 1 (01:10:39):
Okay, But then we were talking about the meaning of
the song I can feel it coming into the air
tonight by Phil Collins, and what it's about.
Speaker 5 (01:10:47):
I thought it was about some man that he had
scorned or something. No. I thought it was like, Okay,
one guy drowned, drowned down, one guy drownded. I thought
it was. I heard executives are listening drownded. I'd like
(01:11:10):
that that would work well in the mornings on Lone Star.
Last clip for a July blueper Real.
Speaker 1 (01:11:17):
Here we were discussing the guy who was lost at
sea because he ran out of gas on his boat
and his phone got wet. He'd have a phone. Just
the worst sailor ever, because he got me food and
water and they were so good to me. So but
he was rescued by some sailors, and he was talking
about the sailors who rescued him. They got me food
and water, and they were so good to me. Of
(01:11:38):
those guys were so good to me. You poor little man.
Get him some nectar. They're just doing ymc a dance.
Speaker 6 (01:11:46):
Yeah, look at that, yo.
Speaker 1 (01:11:48):
Don't you worry. We're gonna save you. Get on our boat,
little man. So good do you like? Seamen?
Speaker 3 (01:11:56):
Hey?
Speaker 6 (01:11:57):
Semen?
Speaker 1 (01:12:01):
I'll be traded into the Mets. Yep.
Speaker 5 (01:12:03):
Coming up next, it's the Food News, a very important
food game show.
Speaker 1 (01:12:07):
Next on the very important, very important today.
Speaker 5 (01:12:15):
Oh man, I'll never forget the time that KT was
addressing a large group of sailors. He hoicked them all
dead in the eye, put his hands on his hips,
and he said, you.
Speaker 1 (01:12:27):
Gotta have hope.
Speaker 3 (01:12:28):
Man.
Speaker 1 (01:12:29):
Without hope, life is meaningless.
Speaker 8 (01:12:32):
Yep.
Speaker 6 (01:12:32):
And they appreciated that.
Speaker 5 (01:12:33):
Christina, you gonna stick around play music till ten o'clock.
All right, this is almost our last show ever on
the Eagle. Keep listening this week and remember we started
mornings Monday at lone Star ninety two five. For everyone
who's a part of this one, we'd like to say,
he's out here, you.
Speaker 6 (01:12:47):

Speaker 8 (01:12:49):
