Speaker 1 (00:00):
What are your parents like? Is your dad a sports photographer?
I kept it with I show.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
You're gonna ruling it forget, except with some more sweet
pursuing it. Toddled out Shaw shank through the sewer. Kid,
Now what chilling at day?

Speaker 3 (00:20):
People?

Speaker 2 (00:20):
Yeah, we're doing it. Three o'clock on the dock. Got
a habit for my house, a goat status. How it's
starting to get crabbit shows that enough multiplied like a rabbit.

Speaker 1 (00:30):
Two the end zone out, creak it up, beat the habit.

Speaker 4 (00:34):
I'm onna hang out with her friends, rocking on the
radio my home, talking on the radio.

Speaker 1 (00:47):
It's time to to this walk.

Speaker 5 (00:51):
All the.

Speaker 1 (00:53):
King up, all up on our radio.

Speaker 6 (01:00):
Oh yeah, hello and welcome everybody. This is the world
famous Ben and Skin Show. I'm Ben Rogers. Skin Weight
is no longer with us. Here instead is a much
more talented guy who's been waiting in the wings and
has been praying for Skin's death.

Speaker 1 (01:14):
Kevin kt Turner has.

Speaker 3 (01:15):
Been waiting in the wings of Minnie Hallways, just looking
for an opportunity. In fact, when I went to go
urinate earlier, I was about to straddle the urinal and
there was a fellow in there who I felt like
I'd seen him a few times, but I wasn't very familiar.

Speaker 1 (01:29):
And he said, hey, you a member of the Ben
and Skin Show. Ah, I love that question. I said, yes, No,
I wish you would have said do you work for
Ben and Skin? That would have been better.

Speaker 3 (01:37):
And this is mid whiz, right, and I go yes,
And he said congratulations on the move to lone Star
ninety two five. Yeah, so you guys deserve it. And
I said, oh, thank you very much. And then I
didn't know how to repay him. So I decided to
just kind of slowly unzip his pants and let him
just put his hands on his hips and I'd just
like ease it out for him and.

Speaker 1 (01:58):
Then he could do his business oper way to repay
the good way. Yeah, I don't think so, that's not
really what anyone wants.

Speaker 6 (02:04):
But also joining us, the wickedly talented Christina carried a
little baby corn.

Speaker 1 (02:08):
Bread ray that's right, little baby cla.

Speaker 6 (02:13):
Yeah, Skin Skin will be back Monday for our world
premiere doing mornings on lone Star ninety two five.

Speaker 1 (02:20):
It's crazy, right, Yeah, he's got to come early.

Speaker 7 (02:22):
Yeah, I know. I tried to wake up at six
am yesterday and so by my show last night, I
was out. I was exhausted.

Speaker 6 (02:29):
Yeah, let's think about your schedule. You're you're very popular.
This is Christina Carrie, Little Baby, Cornbread Race, a very
popular local Nirvana cover man called Oatmeal Pizza. You guys
perform late at night all the time. You do a
nighttime show here on the Eagle. What you are going
to continue to do?

Speaker 1 (02:44):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (02:45):
And then what time do you have to wake up
to get here to the studio for us to go
on the air. And now we got to get here.
We plan, We like to plan three and a half
hours in advance of the show. But what, honestly, what
time do you think you'll wake up to do morning So?

Speaker 7 (02:57):
Well, honestly, I like to spend at least an hour
or going over show prep stories and stuff like that.
It takes me about thirty minutes to get ready and
then maybe fifteen minutes to get here.

Speaker 1 (03:10):
Yeah, so and yeah, I.

Speaker 7 (03:13):
Don't know, I'll get up at four am.

Speaker 6 (03:15):
Wow, Kat, you've already done morning Drive on the Freak,
and you are well known as a guy who likes
to meditate upside down in a sex swing before you
get your day going. So what time do you have
to get up to do a morning show that starts
at six am.

Speaker 1 (03:28):
I ain't.

Speaker 3 (03:28):
The key to battling any problems you might have about
waking up is to never sleep.

Speaker 1 (03:32):
Yeah, stay awake all night.

Speaker 6 (03:33):
We'll be Michael, all right, frisk complete, Please stay awake
throughout the night and then sleep after the show.

Speaker 3 (03:38):
Maybe, you know, we'll keep it going. I mean, I
can really thrive on three or four hours of sleep.
But isn't that what people do that work the night shift?
People that or you know, if you work in a
hospital or fire department, like we'll be, we'll be getting
off at nine am and then we're.

Speaker 1 (03:53):
Done for the day.

Speaker 6 (03:54):
Yeah, which is pretty crazy, And so maybe we just
reverse our sleeping patterns.

Speaker 3 (03:59):
Firemen and fire winmen do that too, when they are on,
you know, for two days, yeah, and then off a
day like that. Call could come at any time.

Speaker 1 (04:06):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (04:07):
How do you make sure that you're properly ready to go?
I mean, it's a big thing. I think the number
one thing that I can tell you is that getting
up in the morning, don't think about it, don't get distracted,
don't look at your phone. Yeah, fire up out of bed,
sprint outside and get some sunlight to hit you right
in the perineum. Yeah, you have to give you all

(04:29):
the natural elements you need to make it through the day.

Speaker 6 (04:33):
You like to take your shoes and socks off, let
your feet, like touch the soil, take some sunshine.

Speaker 1 (04:38):
Yeah, it's the sun out at six a.

Speaker 7 (04:40):
Right, there is no sun that early. Maybe when we
get done.

Speaker 3 (04:44):
With work, you'll find that sometimes there is, especially as
we move into the fall in the winter when the
time changes.

Speaker 6 (04:51):
Yeah, it gets dark at five point thirty six o'clock. Well,
you man explained to her how the sun works. See,
the sun goes around.

Speaker 7 (04:57):
I did do mornings back in the day as well.
Can you just listen to the man speak please?

Speaker 1 (05:03):
You did mornings at what time?

Speaker 6 (05:04):
Did so?

Speaker 7 (05:06):
Lex and Terry? I used to get there around the
same time. Actually they start. I think they started at
five because they're syndicated and so it's all over so
places start differently, so we had to start earlier for
those places. Uh so, Yeah, it's just been maybe ten
years now. I think that was the last morning gig
I had.

Speaker 3 (05:24):
Well, what's great is no traffic? Yeah, right, fantastic. We
don't get off of that in this city.

Speaker 6 (05:30):
We have had an absolute blast doing the show on
ninety seven point one the Eagles since twenty twenty, Do
you guys remember the exact month we.

Speaker 1 (05:37):
Started Februaryebruary twenty twenty. Okay, February twenty twenty. When did
the pandemic start?

Speaker 3 (05:42):
I mean Mark marsh is when well, I started in
other countries in January and February, right, but it was
not commonplace until March here when Rudy Gobert of the
Jazz touched Alls his microphone.

Speaker 6 (05:54):
Yeah, I just remember thinking, good lord, we're so lucky
to get this contract signed. Like if it had been
one month later, yeah, we probably would have been unemployed,
Like it just would have you down. But to be
here on the Eagle, to hold it down throughout the
whole pandemic, you know, we had. I remember Mark Cuban
came on with us during the pandemic and iHeart put

(06:15):
it out across the entire country on every single one
of their stations because he was a kind of a
keeper of the information or you know, he's really a
smart guy, and yeah he was kind of helping everybody
with guidance and stuff on that.

Speaker 1 (06:25):
But anyway, he knew who leaked it out of the lab.

Speaker 6 (06:29):
We just we just survived all that, and you know,
so much has changed. Russ passed away and rest in
peace and some other stuff, and it's just wild, a wild,
wild ride.

Speaker 3 (06:41):
I didn't have a contract ever at the Fan, so
I think I was good to do whatever. But you
and Skin had a ninety day non compete to three
months you had to sit out. And if y'all would
have farted around at the Fan and quit Thanksgiving instead
of October twentieth or whatever it was twenty nineteen, there's
a good chance they ended up like we never get hired, Yeah, right,

(07:04):
like because of yeah, what was happening in the world.
But just no one knew how serious COVID was until
it was.

Speaker 6 (07:10):
You know, Facebook and social media comments are toxic. We
know that, but you know, I was watched the Sports Day,
you know, the Sports Day app or whatever, Dallas Morning
New sports Day posted about our move and they were
talking about it, and you just read some of the
comments and I heard guys say, what those guys have
been relevant since they left the Fan, And I'm like, well,
I get it, but relevant to who? Like people didn't

(07:31):
understand that the Russ Martin Show used to routinely beat
the hardline for decades, you know, or whatever for a decade,
and you know, if you're not in that, I think
people are get stuck in the bubble of whatever they
listened to now, so they just assume that's the only
thing that exists. But you know, it's It's the same
way with Bow and Jim on lone Star ninety two five, dominant,
you know, for over two decades there, and just an

(07:53):
absolute honor for us to set up shop in the
house that they've built. And look, if you listen to
The Eagle, you're going to get more rock because we're
going to leave afternoon drive and they're going to play
more songs. And so if you want more music, you
win there. And on lone Star ninety two five, they've
always had a morning show and so I haven't had
one in a while. So we get a chance to
go over there and set up shop there and we're
fired up about it. So we start on Monday. So

(08:15):
if you listen to us on the iHeart podcast, nothing
changes for you, But we do start our morning show
on lone Start ninety two five this coming Monday at
six am. We'll make history doing it a lot of
people are wondering what our new intro is going to
sound like. Just stay tuned, you'll find out we're gonna
we hope you're tuned in at six am on Monday
to find out exactly that. All right, coming up next,
let's get the party started with the entertainment headlines. Christina

(08:37):
watched a show, so none of us have to. We'll
talk about it next before we get there. Thank you
to Reliant air Conditioning. Jeff Steart and his crew over
there are fantastic people. They've been partners of ours for
a very very long time, and we're excited about continuing
that over at lone Start ninety two five. And look
this summer, just know that it's it just seems to
be getting hotter every year and scorching temperatures here in

(08:59):
Dallas Fort Worth. You need to have somebody out to
do a tune up on your air conditioning system. Think
about it like getting an oil change in your in
your car's motor in your car, you know, and if
you're going to go on a long road trip, you
wouldn't want to do it without getting or changing the
oil and doing the routine maintenance. When you do that,
you allow your air conditioning system to last longer, then
you don't have to replace it as soon.

Speaker 1 (09:18):
I just had to replace two units.

Speaker 6 (09:20):
Grateful that I did it with relying on air conditioning
because they don't try to force something on you you
don't need. In fact, they helped me get through last summer.
They were doing the tune up. They're like, yeah, you
probably don't have too many more summers left, but they
helped me get through it. That's just the way they're wired.
They do business with integrity. So call them to set
up your tune up. Calm right now, eight seven seven
your hero. That's eight seven seven, your hero for Reliant

(09:40):
air Conditioning.

Speaker 1 (09:48):
It's a miniskin show.

Speaker 3 (09:49):
Ninety seven won the Eagle for three more days, and
then we go to lunch start ninety two to five
next Monday, where we will do mornings at six to
nine am. Later in the show, we're working on a
countdown of some of our time moments while we were
on the Eagle.

Speaker 1 (10:02):
Right now, it's time for this. Yeah, it is erment
and life, all right.

Speaker 3 (10:11):
So this is a show that was on Apple TV
that I started. It was a movie in the eighties.
It was called Cape Fear Robert de Niro was in it.

Speaker 1 (10:18):
Dude, I loved it. I loved the movie.

Speaker 6 (10:20):
De Niro was great in it, although he had a
Southern accent. He was the violent criminal who had been
imprisoned and his lawyer messed him up. It was his lawyer,
you know, which was who it was, not Gary Busey,
the other guy.

Speaker 1 (10:33):
I get it. I get confused with Gary Bucy a lot.
I should see because.

Speaker 6 (10:36):
The guy from forty eight Hours with Eddie Murphy, Uhnty Nignolty,
he's got Gary Busey looks just like yeah, for sure.

Speaker 1 (10:44):
And uh.

Speaker 6 (10:44):
The idea was that the lawyer had screwed him over,
so when he finally got out of prison, he was
going to get his retribution and like ruin his lawyer's
life because his lawyer ruined his. But the music was
really powerful and good, and so I had high hopes
for the new show.

Speaker 1 (10:57):
Yeah, so I'd seen a clip of the movie.

Speaker 3 (11:00):
Was a nineteen ninety one movie, by the way, I said,
eighties nineteen ninety one, a Scorsese movie.

Speaker 7 (11:04):
Well, there's two movies.

Speaker 3 (11:05):
There's yeah, there was one from Back in the Deeper Past, Yeah, yeah,
which is weird.

Speaker 1 (11:10):
I didn't know that until this all came out.

Speaker 3 (11:11):
Yeah, but I saw the cast, Amy Adams, Javier bardem cool.
Apple TV puts out a lot of good shows. Definitely
give it a shot. I quit in episode three, in
the middle of episode two, in the middle what made
you quit? There was just a point where I said,
this is getting out of control and I have to
stop now.

Speaker 1 (11:31):
And I'd not heard anything.

Speaker 3 (11:32):
I watched episode one and I didn't know anyone around me,
hadn't read anything about it, hadn't talked to anybody about it.
Loved episode one, hated episode two, and quit the middle
episode three. But Christina, yep, sometimes we need one shining
light to fight through.

Speaker 1 (11:46):
And you did it. You fought through all of cave fear.

Speaker 7 (11:50):
I hung in there, and Ben, did you actually finish it?

Speaker 5 (11:52):
No?

Speaker 6 (11:52):
I didn't even get through the first episode okay, but yeah,
I didn't have a really good idea as to where
it was going to go.

Speaker 1 (11:59):
Okay, blow me away one way or the other.

Speaker 7 (12:01):
Well, one of the reasons I'm okt had said that
he stopped watching it was because there were just so
many storylines. There was so much going on, and he
was right. That continued. They kept adding more storylines to
the point where and I just kept going. Mike and
I were like, dude, this is a show we're watching.
We just got to see it to the end. Maybe
it'll get better, let's see how they resolved this thing.

(12:25):
And it just continually got worse again, just more unnecessary
storylines that really just were confusing towards the end. And
there was one moment in the finale where I laughed
out loud, oh, and I said, this is one of
the worst shows I've ever watched.

Speaker 1 (12:40):
Oh, go ahead, tell us that. I don't think it'll
spoil anything.

Speaker 7 (12:45):
So at the end, Javier Bardem, he's playing the main guy.
I can't even think of the main bad guy.

Speaker 5 (12:53):
Right.

Speaker 7 (12:54):
Well, he had somehow escaped from the police and he's
getting inside their house. The sun lifts up this window.
There's a bad storm. Of course, there's gonna be rain
storms doing the worst part. And the sun lifts up
a window and he looks outside and he sees Hobby
Orbardem on the roof and then all of a sudden,
he jumps down and makes this real like cartoony face,

(13:17):
like ah, coming at you. And that's when I laughed
out loud and said, this is awful. This is so bad.

Speaker 3 (13:24):
It is getting grilled as one of the worst TV
shows of all time. Wow, it is being seen as
that by people who have fought through and finished it.
Many people did not have it in them to finish it.

Speaker 1 (13:36):
They shouldn't.

Speaker 3 (13:36):
And I typically am a completist. Even if there's something bad,
I usually will fight through. And even this one was like,
I can't. And if I hear in two weeks that
someone says I just stick with it, I will. No. Oh,
it's so bam. And Amy Adams has an accent, which
is a problem in it.

Speaker 7 (13:52):
Too that me, yes, she is. She is still hot,
and there's just so much potential there. It was shot
in a really cool way, like the cinematography I guess
if that's what you call it. That looks great.

Speaker 1 (14:03):
Everything Apple makes looks good.

Speaker 7 (14:05):
Just oh, why so many storylines.

Speaker 1 (14:08):
Before I decide if I'm in or out on this? Now?
You should be out. Vaccines with her getting wants to know, right.

Speaker 7 (14:16):
I don't think they were not because of that.

Speaker 3 (14:19):
Just because I'm out. There's a scene where she knows
because he is he was in jail. She was the
defender of him, and her husband was the prosecutor and
they ended up getting together during that case that sent
him to prison.

Speaker 1 (14:33):
So it's it gets you going.

Speaker 3 (14:35):
But there's a point in like episode three where she
goes out of town with him. Yeah, Javier Bardem, the
guy who's been in prison for fifteen years.

Speaker 6 (14:42):
What.

Speaker 1 (14:42):
Yeah, it's so they jumped the shark ninety times.

Speaker 7 (14:46):
And then the daughter decides to just go out of
town with him. Like that's a good idea, that was sir.
She's pissed off at to parents. She wants to show
them she can do do things on her own.

Speaker 6 (14:55):
Did daughter hook up with him or she of age?
Like how old is she now? She's oh what, yeah?
What while traveling with a convict?

Speaker 7 (15:02):
Here's a storyline she could be his daughter.

Speaker 1 (15:05):
Oh there's a lot.

Speaker 7 (15:07):
Going on telling you that's only one of like one
hundred okay things.

Speaker 6 (15:12):
We're like, what, okay, Well, thank you for bringing the
brave orders that suffer through that so.

Speaker 1 (15:16):
None of us have to.

Speaker 6 (15:17):
Yeah, all right, there you have at the entertainment headlines.
Coming up next, let's crank up the wayback machines. We
review some of our best work in the time that
we've been here on the Eagle. That's next before we
get there, thank you to our friends at the Chalk
Taw Casino and Resort into Rant, Oklahoma. It's a great
time and it's right up the road. Don't forget they're
giving away a million dollars. They've done it twice already,
they do it three times overall. But two Lucky Rewards

(15:38):
Club members have already become millionaires. But one more is
going to be a millionaire. Now, could it be you?

would you do with a million dollars? Earn entries with
your Chalkdaw Rewards Club card for that final million dollar drawing,

that night, but stay for the two hundred and fifty
thousand cash drawing at two am. That's two huge drawings
one epic night, plus fifty thousand at three pm and
ten thousand drawings every hour from four pm to midnight.

Speaker 1 (16:11):
So that's the day to get there.

Speaker 6 (16:13):

(16:34):
Tawk Casino Resort in Durant, Oklahoma. Our time being on
ninety seven point one. The eagle is coming to an end.
We only have a few more days yet on left.
On Monday, we'll start doing morning six to nine am
on lone Star at ninety two five, So we're very
excited about that. But we've been reliving some of the
greatest moments that we've had here because it's a lot

(16:55):
of fun to reminisce, which means right now it's time for.

Speaker 1 (16:57):
This fools, It's time to go into the bitter sho Wordbut.

Speaker 3 (17:05):
Right because of the news and we were moving to
six to nine am next Monday on Loans Turn ninety
two five. Still be on the iHeartRadio app which is free.
The podcast feed will stay the same. Things like that
are I'll get. But what I wanted to do is
commemorate our time here on the Eagle. And when I
was compiling the files, I realized, oh, I've got sixty
nine files here and we're going to six to nine am.

Speaker 1 (17:23):
So I've made a little Google for him.

Speaker 3 (17:25):
I let our audience vote, and I have a countdown
of our top sixty nine moments in.

Speaker 1 (17:31):
Our history on the Eagle.

Speaker 3 (17:32):
Perfect. So yesterday we did sixty nine through sixty two.
We pick it up at six sixty one, and this
takes us to November third, twenty twenty one. Skin was
telling a story about a TV show character named Missus
Garrett from a show.

Speaker 1 (17:49):
I don't even know what show it is, honestly.

Speaker 6 (17:51):
Missus Garrett different show times or something different trucks with
Arnold and Will willis Yeah, okay, Gary Coleman, did you
guys see the episode where Arnold licked Missus Garrett's sweet strudel?

Speaker 1 (18:08):
Why are you laughing? Is back? Why are you laughing?
Is that her pie?

Speaker 6 (18:13):
I mean, it's strudel? What's the difference she was known
for it? He was a child, I think he was
an adult. That was tiny I think that's where it
gets confusing. Missus Garrett Strudell. Look, you guys need to
get on Google. You're telling me that he was getting
down on her sweet streudel. He would, you know what,
he would smash that strudle, I mean just shoving on
his face.

Speaker 1 (18:33):
I don't think he would. He would.

Speaker 3 (18:37):
Terrible, terrible broadcasting. And uh, we're seeing worthy of Morning Drive.
We're just now learning number sixty on the countdown.

Speaker 1 (18:50):
Takes us to me.

Speaker 3 (18:53):
There's a reporter over at Channel eight and report I
think z anchor of the Morning Show and Channel eight
now Matt Howardton and you guys have been over rating
him for years. Seems like a nice guy, but he's
not household name. He's not Pete delcas he's not Clarice Tinsley.
You know, he's not the not newie shrugs, not household Casually.

Speaker 1 (19:15):
You might meet a few people.

Speaker 3 (19:16):
At work who know who he is. But let's not
act like there's billboards for Matt Howarton all.

Speaker 1 (19:20):
Over the place. Don't put me in that boat.

Speaker 3 (19:22):
That's it's his thing. You're right, you're right, And here's
the story. You'll notice that the local news won't have
the balls to talk about his story because the howardton
Wills constituent.

Speaker 1 (19:33):
No Howardton Will.

Speaker 5 (19:35):
Will.

Speaker 3 (19:36):
No one even knows who Howardon is. Channel channel a guy.
Our audience like, who's Howarton? You know they know Howardton?

Speaker 1 (19:52):
I won that one. That was gret.

Speaker 7 (19:53):
I love the build up that.

Speaker 1 (19:58):
It is like the car going.

Speaker 6 (20:00):
He kept cutting me off. Howardton will, you bet your
ass he will. No one even knows what Howard is
he will.

Speaker 7 (20:10):
It's no one rovert more like who eorts in?

Speaker 3 (20:18):
That was really well done, Matt Howarton, big listener of
the show, We thank you for listening.

Speaker 1 (20:22):
Matt. That was a huge moment because you did beat
Skin on that one.

Speaker 6 (20:26):
It's like the team that beats the Globe Trotters every
once in a while, but most of the time it's
Globe Trotter's winning.

Speaker 1 (20:31):
Rare win for me.

Speaker 3 (20:32):
On the show number fifty nine, we were discussing some
of Brad Paisley's biggest hits.

Speaker 6 (20:37):
For some reason, what's his most famous song? Brad Paisley,
I think it's my hat is my heart. This bitch
won't shut up?

Speaker 1 (20:44):
That's it? Oh what about that's a dog right there?

Speaker 7 (20:46):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (20:47):
What about?

Speaker 6 (20:47):
What about this song where he identifies dogs. I got
another song called eight something last night round there at
the gas station.

Speaker 1 (20:57):
That's another one.

Speaker 6 (20:59):
It's just the most now observational stuff, this road standard
e what's you mean?

Speaker 1 (21:06):
Metaphor? Boy? Say what you see? What do you mean? Metaphor?
A meta? So I can have sex with her? That's
what I'm metaphor. I never think of a metaphor any
other way. No, all right, let's keep this going. The
clips continue.

Right now, let's continue our countdown of the top sixty
nine moments of our time on the Eagle because we're
going to lone Star ninety two five next Monday morning,
six to nine. And I happened to have sixty nine
clips and I let our audience vote, so it's voted
on by the listeners. I had no say in any
of this. The listeners voted, stacked them up, and uh,
we pick it up at number fifty eight. Then Ben

(23:13):
talks Moon and Aliens.

Speaker 6 (23:15):
I heard people talking about the Moon earlier today and
they were like talking about all these conspiracies.

Speaker 7 (23:20):
Where were people talking about the Moon?

Speaker 1 (23:21):
I thought the show was about to re begin.

Speaker 6 (23:24):
I was driving in and I was listening to the fan.
You know, some people think the moon landing was real.
Some people don't think it's real. This is what they're
doing on signing there.

Speaker 1 (23:34):
No, I don't know, and hello, are you guys? Anyways?
I saw Aliens? So are you are you guys? Are
you guys tracking any of this laser stuff?

Speaker 3 (23:52):
Actually don't any of the story, but you were asking
good questions about it.

Speaker 1 (23:56):
I don't remember it either. Lasers, no idea.

Speaker 3 (24:00):
I do you know there's a weird thing going on
where SpaceX is crashing a rocket into the moon. I'm like,
this doesn't feel like in the moon, like in charge
of our tides and when women have their periods and stuff.

Speaker 7 (24:12):
Not that part, but the tides.

Speaker 1 (24:13):
The tides are though. Yeah, they're not careful. They could
reverse women's periods. You don't want that. Yeah, and maybe
stay tuned. That might still be on here.

Speaker 3 (24:21):
I think we'll see number fifty seven Jeff Skinwaye, who
is absent this week. We'll be back next week when
we go to lun Star ninety two five six to
nine AM. Got real emotional talking about Dave Grohl, who
we interview during our time on.

Speaker 1 (24:35):
The Eagle, which is interesting. Number fifty seven.

Speaker 6 (24:37):
Everybody feels this way, but I specifically feel like.

Speaker 1 (24:43):
Dave Grohl would be my friend. You know what was that?

Speaker 8 (24:47):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (24:47):
I got emotional here, emotionally got you're my friend, you
have friends.

Speaker 6 (24:51):
We like you, man, You're you don't have to have
an imaginary Dave girlfriend.

Speaker 1 (24:55):
You know, every time I his name, I have some
sort of voice. Can I hear that again? I turned
into R F K JR. We love you.

Speaker 6 (25:07):
Dave grow, Dave grows, my guy down in Dallas, Overell.

Speaker 1 (25:16):
Dave Grows what's funny you feel like Dave Grow would
be my friend? You know what?

Speaker 3 (25:24):
That?

Speaker 1 (25:26):
We gave it about a second before. That is the
vibe of the show. Make one mistake and you're cooked. Dude,
your launch money's good. Let's going like Dave Grow would
be my friend? You know what that? Yeah, I got emotional.

(25:48):
I was like, your hey, man, you can have friends.

Speaker 3 (25:53):
You don't need to make up that you get your friends.

Speaker 6 (25:58):
I was in the break room doing a fixed song
with my fake imaginary band, the Food Fighters.

Speaker 1 (26:05):
Number fifty six takes this.

Speaker 3 (26:08):
This is labeled eighteen nicknames because apparently you and Skin
you know, obviously went to high school. You've gather you've
been friends since nineteen eighty two. But there was a
list of girls which wasn't That was the A Team.
This was my favorite thing about the A Team.

Speaker 6 (26:20):
When Ben and I were in high school, there was
five girls that hung out together and four of them
had a name that started with an A, and everyone
called them the A Team.

Speaker 3 (26:30):
It was.

Speaker 6 (26:32):
Elisa Lussa, Angela, Angie Angie. Yeah, Angie ended.

Speaker 1 (26:37):
Up marrying Braun right or dating or I think they
did for a while. Yeah. I knocked out two of
the a team last weekend.

Speaker 6 (26:47):
Audrey Audrey. And there was one other guy with a
different name, poor Gal anal nickname, not a name, a
name for a girl.

Speaker 1 (27:00):
In high school.

Speaker 6 (27:02):
You wouldn't want to have to explain this to your
kids here, your mom had a nickname. I didn't know
about it until the High Score reunion. We were disappointing
for me to find that out. I was like, what
about me, eighteen listeners. She just like things to be organized, Yes,

(27:23):
of course, all right, O keep this going. We'll keep
this going throughout our final days here.

Speaker 1 (27:27):
On the Eagle.

Speaker 3 (27:28):
Yeah, we'll pick it up at fifty five, maybe later
in today's show.

Speaker 1 (27:31):
All right, Christina, what's coming up next?

Speaker 7 (27:32):
In the cookie Jar, Let's find out what happens when
a band crashes a local weather report text on the Eagle.

Speaker 6 (27:38):
All right, we are winding down our time here on
ninety seven one the Eagle. Friday is our last show,
and we've been here since February of twenty twenty. But
that's our final show here on the Eagle because we're
moving across the hallway here at iHeart and we are
going to a new radio station at a new time
starting Monday, the Bening Skin show will be mornings six
to nine am on lone Star ninety two five. We'll

(27:58):
continue to talk about that as we move forward and
listening here on the Eagle, you'll get more music here
in ten minutes things Skin isn't tracking, But right now
it's time for this.

Speaker 1 (28:08):
Let's time to.

Speaker 2 (28:09):
Pop the top, graze your heads, and it's grabatory tall
from Christina's cookie jar.

Speaker 5 (28:21):
Christine, Christine.

Speaker 7 (28:36):
I do first want to give a shout out to
Bikini Whales. We played with them last night at Tulips
and Fort Worth. They are a B fifty two's cover
band and they put on an incredible show. But I
was just blown away by how nice they were. We
hung out with them in the green room before we
went on for like an hour and they were just
super funny, friendly people, and it's just really cool. Is

(29:00):
every band we play with they're so nice and so
I just support local music.

Speaker 1 (29:05):
Yeah, that's awesome.

Speaker 7 (29:06):
Port the local bands as much as he can. Now
we're going to a not local band. Jacob Nol and
Zano of Sublime. Well, they were guests on a news
station over the weekend KTLA. It's the Los Angeles news station.

Speaker 1 (29:22):
The Big One.

Speaker 7 (29:22):
Yeah, and they decided to crash the weather report. And
before I play a clip from this, this is set
up like every weather report. They start with like a
live cam of whatever's going on outside, and then they
go to you know, the actual weather report. And so
here's what happened.

Speaker 1 (29:40):
Welcome back to the kt A weekend morning News. Some
special guests doing our weather forecast. Come a little bit
this way. I think. There we go hither Los Angeles.
My name is Jacob, I'm Zto and Jacob and Zana.
What are we looking at right here?

Speaker 8 (29:53):
As we can see here, it's a beautiful uh Southern
swell in uh Los Angeles and Santa Monica. That guy
on this bike right there is Mount Mike, and hit
him up if you anything.

Speaker 1 (30:02):
What what does Uncle Mike bring to the table.

Speaker 8 (30:05):
Well, I wouldn't want to say it exactly on the television,
but if you see him on the bicycle, just remember
he's gonna be wearing a sunburned record T shirt and
he can get you whatever you need in Los Angeles.

Speaker 1 (30:12):
Nick, Yes, all right, talk us through. We've got an
extreme heat warning and a heat advisory coming your way. Well, Xana,
what do you take it? Yeah? So we got an
extreme heat warning and a heat advisory. Jake, take it away.

Speaker 8 (30:24):
Well, as you see here, the heat advisory is extreme
and it's going to be until Sunday at eight pm,
and it's gonna be hot. So what you're gonna want
to do is probably stay inside and just don't go
out until it's safe again.

Speaker 4 (30:33):
See this is good important tips an air quality alert,
hydrate use.

Speaker 7 (30:38):
So they keep going back and forth like that. It
was just funny to see them improv Yeah, and it
was really funny.

Speaker 1 (30:44):
Yeah, do the same thing. Is very funny. Yeah, the
same thing in a row.

Speaker 7 (30:48):
They kept tossing it back to each other. Take it away.

Speaker 1 (30:51):
That's great.

Speaker 6 (30:52):
And they're a they're a fun band. I don't know
they're I don't like. Did they lose somebody though? They
lost their leads?

Speaker 7 (30:57):
Your lead singer and that's his son right there. Heard
so he's taken over and he sounds.

Speaker 1 (31:01):
Exactly like he does. So. Are they are turning out
new music as well?

Speaker 5 (31:06):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (31:07):
They did something new recently.

Speaker 7 (31:08):
Okay, Yes, we play in Sonata here on the station
quite a bit. And uh, their full album, the first
in about thirty years, was maybe a month ago. They
released it.

Speaker 3 (31:18):
Are you looking at I've heard a couple of songs
on it, and it sounds just like you would expect it.

Speaker 1 (31:23):
Yeah, I'm just.

Speaker 6 (31:25):
So.

Speaker 7 (31:25):
I just thought that was really funny. Cool, And when
they first come on camera. I need to post the videocas.
When they first come on camera, they're like, oh hey, yeah,
what's up?

Speaker 1 (31:33):
They definitely I mean stoner energy for sure. Yeah, you know.
Uh And if you're gonna do ska and reggae like it.

Speaker 7 (31:40):
Helps someone else who posted something on Instagram. Let's see
green Day. Green Day put up a post just last
night with clips of different movies and TV shows together
and it all comes together to say welcome to.

Speaker 1 (31:56):
Green Day Television.

Speaker 7 (31:58):
Interesting, and then the caption just says green Day TV
coming to the Green Day YouTube channel this Thursday. That's
coming tomorrow. I have no idea what it is or
what it could be. GDTV Yeah, GDTV.

Speaker 3 (32:13):
Yes, seven point six million subscribers on it already.

Speaker 1 (32:17):
What do you think it's gonna be?

Speaker 7 (32:19):
I have no idea. Like their own shows that they
put to I mean, they have that movie coming out
here in like two weeks.

Speaker 3 (32:25):
Right, it's gotta be about the movie, because they're not
gonna try to overshadow the movie that they're making by
saying we've got something else for a new album.

Speaker 1 (32:34):
Yeah, I mean they have new music that's on part
of this movie, which will probably be released as a soundtrack.

Speaker 6 (32:39):
Or it could be like what we're doing, you know
with Haymaker, just on a more giant scale. They may
just be like, hey, we kind of want a podcast.
We're gonna do it on video maybe where they're introducing
their own content.

Speaker 7 (32:50):
Possibly, Yeah, I think that's the best guess is just
to do a live podcast on their GDTV so.

Speaker 1 (32:56):
To help promote the movie.

Speaker 7 (32:57):
What's movies when Nimrods is August thirteenth, So next week
August fourteenth, but I believe there are showings on the
thirteen es next next Friday is the Yeah, you can
see it before you want. Yeah, that makes sense they're
promoting that. Yeah, Okay, well I will keep tabs on
that and I'll let you know tomorrow exactly exactly what
it is. Green Day TV.

Speaker 6 (33:17):
All right, there she goes the star of our show,
the wickedly talented Christina Carrey. A little baby corn bread
ray coming up in just after this in a few minutes.
Thing skin isn't tracking right here in the Eagle. Before
we get there, I want to say thank you to
Frankel and Frankel. Look, they've been our partners for many,
many years, long before we even got to iHeart and
started on the Eagle and February of twenty twenty and
they will be going with us to Mornings on lone

(33:39):
Star ninety two five. They'll be sponsoring our show there
moving forward, and we're grateful to have them on board. Look,
if you're involved in a wreck, you need somebody looking
out for your best interest.

Speaker 1 (33:48):
I can't even imagine you being in better.

Speaker 6 (33:50):
Hands than you are when you're in the hands of
Frankel and Frankel. They're dear friends of ours. But on
top of that, they are exceptional lawyers. And they're local
guys standing by now to help you. If you've been
injured and it's not your fault. If you're involved in
a wreck, call them immediately. It's never too soon to
get them involved. It costs you nothing to call them.
And a lot of these guys you hear advertising are
not even local guys, or may not even have a

(34:12):
real presence here in town. They may just come here
a couple of days a week. Look, that's not the
case with the Frankels. They are local guys. They've been
here for many, many years, and they handled my case
so I can speak firsthand. They fought the other side,
set up the MRIs X rays physical therapy. I never
had to come out of pocket, and at the end
of it all, Frankel and Frankel got me a nice
cash settlement. So if you've been involved in a wreck
that's not your fault, reach out to the Frankeles two

(34:33):
one four three three three thirty three thirty three fr
nk e L call Frankel First ed Skin Show ninety
seven to one the Eagle.

Speaker 3 (34:44):
Just for a little longer though, because Monday morning we
go to lone Star ninety two to five, will be
doing morning six to nine am. I do want to
give away some tickets now three eleven and the Dirty
Heads are going to be at Toyota Music Factory on
August twenty fifth. You can I have a chance to
win by getting out your phone, going to the iHeartRadio
app and you interact with the red microphone button on

(35:07):
the talkback app. Just leave your name, your number, your email,
your date of birth right, that's all and you will
be in the drawing for a chance to win a
pair of tickets to see three eleven and the Dirty
Heads in about three weeks. Right now, let's do this, though.

Speaker 1 (35:24):
Another edition of things is tracking.

Speaker 3 (35:28):
Dan Kin's instead of things he's tracking though, how about
things he's not tracking because he turns his back on
the entire audience. Yes, some are saying the entire Metroplex.

Speaker 6 (35:39):
At a time when they needed a most, they needed
to know what he thinks about leaving the Eagle and
going to Lone Star and doing morning Drive, and he's
nowhere to be found.

Speaker 3 (35:47):
Suck it Oasis and yes, and it's Oasis is fault. No,
he's gone, but he'll be back Monday, we think, Yeah,
just create more mystery a little bit more so. He
said something the other day that was crazy. You know,
you've known him for forty years, forty five years almost.

Speaker 1 (36:07):
I've known him.

Speaker 3 (36:08):
I mean I worked with him on a day to
day basis for nearly fifteen years, thirteen years.

Speaker 1 (36:13):
Probably met him in twenty twenty nine, twenty ten. Were
you impressed when you met him? No, not at all.
I was like, hey, man, give me a little overbearing
right now. Do you want to eat a pretzel. That's
what he said to you at the media table at
a ranger.

Speaker 3 (36:31):
Yeah. Yeah, I think it was actually in the concourse
the AAC before radio had got hurt, which really makes sense.

Speaker 1 (36:37):
Yeah, it does make it.

Speaker 3 (36:38):
Kalishaw was there, Mike Siroy was there, Cash Stroy was there. Okay,
So the point is, yes, he said something last week
on the show. I mean, I remember in a break
going that's the weirdest thing about you like that. It's
just not been talked about that he every time he
goes to the gas station or goes to a convenience store,

(37:01):
he buys a lottery ticket and not a scratch off,
like a big one. And it was like, you know,
I think the setup to his segment was it's one
of my biggest fears is winning the lottery and not
knowing that I want the lottery. And I'm like, well, okay,
if you buy a lottery ticket, you would check it
otherwise what's the point And he's like, no, I don't,
And that's just insane behavior, like insane asylum right now.

Speaker 1 (37:26):
Put him in there now.

Speaker 7 (37:28):
It's honestly not because Siroy will do the same thing.
He'll buy some random lottery tickets usually when the jackpots
up real high, and then he just forgets to check them,
and so I check them.

Speaker 1 (37:38):
I forget though you bought it.

Speaker 7 (37:39):
I mean, it just lies there in a pile of mail.

Speaker 3 (37:42):
It's like putting your shoe on and not tying it.

Speaker 1 (37:46):
I mean you're gonna.

Speaker 6 (37:47):
Yeah, right, you're saying, see it through. You've done it.
You've purchased the ticket. Might as well see you if
you want.

Speaker 3 (37:52):
Yeah, And I I mean I have a lot of
personality flaws too, and a part of those is like
needing to finish something that I've started. But it's a
part of the Yeah, except for that that tells you something.

Speaker 1 (38:04):
It was that bad.

Speaker 7 (38:05):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (38:07):
Buy the Powerball's big right now? Okay, it's like seven
hundred and eighty five billion. I've bought a few Powerball
tickets over the last a million, not.

Speaker 7 (38:16):
Bill, there's million million.

Speaker 3 (38:19):
I bought a few Powerball tickets over the last couple
of weeks, because you know, it's fun to see t
you have a little hope. You know, where do you
keep them so you can check them? I have one
of my water okay, keep it next.

Speaker 1 (38:28):
To your condom. Condom?

Speaker 6 (38:31):
Well, yes, you have a round ring on your wallet.
I'm not having any so yeah it is tonight, it is.
Let me go and say, it's a lot of money.

Speaker 3 (38:44):
Three hundred and the cash option that you would get
is three hundred and forty one million dollars.

Speaker 1 (38:49):
What numbers did you choose? I didn't choose any. I
just said I'll take ten Powerball tickets. Why would you
do quick pick?

Speaker 6 (38:54):
Like, look, if wouldn't you, wouldn't you if you have
your own numbers? Won't you be devastating if your go
to numbers get selected and you were too lazy to
even pick them.

Speaker 3 (39:03):
So I it would bother you.

Speaker 1 (39:07):
Right, But here's the thing.

Speaker 3 (39:09):
I did ask someone who is a data analyst, and
they said, there's no difference in picking your own numbers
at them. Yeah, it's some like podcaster.

Speaker 6 (39:19):
Yeah, but if they're seriously like, what if you Yeah,
you're dead and in the future, your ghost is traveling
back through time trying to help you win by trick.

Speaker 1 (39:27):
The numbers to take the look they choose the numbers
that are the numbers I'm trying to.

Speaker 6 (39:32):
Tell you, And you're not listening. You're like, no, let
me just go ahead. I'm good at my own thing.

Speaker 3 (39:35):
No that Yeah, but I don't think if you just
do the ten, you take the guesswork out of it.
Just I got the random numbers. Also, I don't want
to fill out the thing and color it in When
you pulled your wallet out just now, is that lamb skin?

Speaker 1 (39:47):
What is that?

Speaker 6 (39:47):
It's kind of like a beige leather. It's just think
it is old? Now, I don't think it is. Is
it faded? I'm gonna actually get to this George Costanza wallet.

Speaker 1 (39:58):
Look at that? Look can I see it?

Speaker 7 (39:59):
Can I hold your It's not belcrow so it's an
adult wallet belongings.

Speaker 1 (40:04):
Yeah, uh, let me take a look at godly this thing. Seriously,
this thing weighs about four pounds. Yeah. When you're carrying
around millions of dollars in cash with you at all the.

Speaker 6 (40:14):
Time, you're it's all broken and barely working.

Speaker 3 (40:18):
So my point is, yes, in Allen, a ticket sold
at a gas station in Allen at the intersection of
Bethany and Allen Heights Drive, Oh match all five numbers
missed out on the power ball, but is a million
dollar ticket.

Speaker 6 (40:32):
So Skin, it's in his hometown. He's getting tickets and
not checking them. And now we have a winner in
his hometown and what's turned it in?

Speaker 3 (40:39):
Yes, if they have their they haven't gone public, which
you probably wouldn't want to do.

Speaker 1 (40:44):
It's just a million, then I'd go public if I
want a million.

Speaker 3 (40:47):
So I just I think it's crazy. I think we
glossed over it and didn't question him anymore. He just
does that. Are you telling me, Mike?

Speaker 1 (40:54):
Is that normal behavior? Yeah? That's crazy. Might and to
never know about it.

Speaker 6 (40:59):
Yeah, if Mike does it, it's kind of cool. Yeah,
it does it. It's like what are you doing? Mane?

Speaker 1 (41:05):
Yeah, right, but Mike's doing You're like, hey, what a
bad ass? All right? There you have it things.

Speaker 6 (41:11):
Skin isn't tracking coming up next and turning in men,
a sad story about divorce.

Speaker 1 (41:16):
Stay tuned for this one. It's next.

Speaker 6 (41:18):
These are the final shows of the Been and Skin
Show in ninety seven when the Eagles Starting Monday, we're
moving to Lone Star ninety two five. We'll be doing
mornings from six to nine am. If you listen on
the iHeart app, nothing changes for you. But what an
honor it's been for us to be on these Eagle airwaves.
Thank you for having us. Thank you for letting us
entertain you. If you're one of those people who's like.

Speaker 1 (41:36):
Ben and skin Suck play more music, you're getting your wish.

we leave, so you're gonna get more music. And if
you're one of those people who has listened to Lone
Star ninety two five and you've loved Bow and Jim
over the years, you know, those guys built an empire
over there and just did such a phenomenal job.

Speaker 1 (41:55):
We cannot replace.

Speaker 6 (41:56):
Them, but we're super proud to be in the house
that they built. So we'll start on Monday morning at
lone Star ninety two five. Our show will be on
from six to nine. But right now, it's time for this.

Speaker 1 (42:06):
He's interrational, quick triggered nuclear overreactor. He's a masterful storyteller
who consistently finds himself drowning in a sea of awkward.
It's time for no Trundy and Ben So.

Speaker 6 (42:22):
I love fantasy football. I love fantasy baseball. I don't
really have the time that I used to have to
be good at it. I just spent a lot of
time focusing on it, which is weird because I've had
more serious jobs in the past, and at those jobs,
I would just have time in the day to spend
about an hour or two just looking at my fantasy team. Yeah,

(42:42):
and now even though I have a job that is
not quite as serious, because sometimes the most important thing
we might deal with in a single day is to
have to go ask our boss if we're allowed to
say the word butthole, And it's like, there's a bunch
of stress. Hey, can we say it? Can we not
say it? And so in a lot of ways, this
is just fun. It's not a real stressful job in
those ways. But I just don't have the time that

(43:04):
I once had, So I now lean on my sons.
My twenty year old Max is the GM of my
baseball team. We kind of run that together, and my
eighteen year old Miles helps me run the football team.
And so anyways, I'm excited about the upcoming draft season.
But I heard about a scenario that I want to
bring to the radio waves and just kick around. I
know some people who are involved in a fantasy league,

(43:25):
and it's a married couple and they're a really cool couple.

Speaker 1 (43:28):
And so there's the man and the women are both
in the league together.

Speaker 6 (43:31):
Christina By the way, are you in a league with
the great Mike Troy or do you ever do a
fantasy league together?

Speaker 4 (43:36):
No?

Speaker 7 (43:36):
I retired Fantasy life, but you did it before I did.
But like you said, I do not have time for
that scess.

Speaker 3 (43:43):
Yeah, it's right, no and kid drop them set the
line up and all that stuff.

Speaker 1 (43:48):
Katie, would you and your wife ever join a fantasy
league together?

Speaker 3 (43:50):
We've been in one for about five years, but it's disbanded.

Speaker 1 (43:54):
Why did it disband because my brother don't want to
do it anymore.

Speaker 6 (43:58):
Okay, okay, So somebody was holding it together and they're
not Involvedtimore. So some friends of mine are in a
league and they were just telling me about it and
they were like, yeah, we don't know what's going to
happen in this league. And they were telling me that
it's a twelve person league, which is most common, right,
but they prefer a ten person league. Now, if you're
in a ten person league, there's more superstars to go around,

(44:18):
everybody's team is better. But a twelve person league is
really the sweet spot at where most leagues are. And
so they had expanded from a ten person league to
a twelve person league and now they don't know what
they're going to do because two of the people in
the league are getting a divorce. Oh no, and that
has to be so stressful. And they're like we On

(44:39):
one hand, they're like, this would be great if we
just go to a ten person league back and just
kick them both out. But they also have given them
the right to stay in the league. And now the
ex'es are talking to each other about whether or not
they could coexist in a league together. But wouldn't that
be awkward for everyone else if it gets toxic At
the risk.

Speaker 3 (44:59):
Of sounding set exist, Let's be honest here, this is
a guy running two teams, right, No, all the woman's
highly involved.

Speaker 6 (45:07):
Yes, these are the women who are in this league.
Like know their stuff? Really, Yeah, they know their stuff.
Yea women can sports. Well, if a man explains it
to him, they could probably good about it. This is uh,
they don't know any of the rules or any of
the players and team names or anything, but you can
help them out a little bit.

Speaker 3 (45:26):
This is not worse than Jelly Roll and his now
ex wife committing to do it going through with having
a kid though, just to try to have a kid
and co paring it despite getting a divorced.

Speaker 1 (45:38):
Interesting, that's not worse than that?

Speaker 7 (45:41):
Why hold on? Is she pregnant right now?

Speaker 1 (45:43):
No, they're going through like IVF.

Speaker 7 (45:45):
That's not okay?

Speaker 1 (45:46):
Yeah, I know, okay. Does he have any songs about
it yet?

Speaker 5 (45:49):
No?

Speaker 3 (45:50):
He actually announced that he is taking a step away
from the public eye. Oh god, what publicly made an
announcement that he's going away for a year.

Speaker 1 (45:59):
Here's just for one year? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (46:03):
If if I mean, I think you have to kick
them out of the league because their tension is just
gonna boil it for everyone, right, yeah, kind of yeah,
but find a new couple.

Speaker 6 (46:13):
But also if you feel for your friends and they're sad,
now they lose fantasy on top of all that, well
they should do that fantasy though.

Speaker 1 (46:20):
There's no no hurt feelings in fantasy, all right.

Speaker 6 (46:24):
And if I just don't know that, it's all when
you're talking about, Okay, they're getting a divorce, it can
be amicable.

Speaker 1 (46:31):
What about when they spoth start looking up with new people?
Oh yeah, can I bring them into the league? Can
I bring my spouse to the draft? No? You know
what I'm saying.

Speaker 7 (46:39):
That needs to be part of like the legal proceedings, right,
who gets the fantasy football team. All right, you you
get that, and then they get something else. They get the.

Speaker 3 (46:47):
Baseball soft This is like an episode of the League
right back in the day.

Speaker 6 (46:51):
Well, good luck to everybody in their fantasy season. By
the way, yes, I am the champion, and you guys

(47:55):
for rolling with us, man, It's been such an honor
to do the Benin Skin Show on the Eagle.

Speaker 1 (48:00):
We grew up here.

Speaker 6 (48:01):
We've always worshiped this radio station. Hell Kid Kratick back
in the day. I think this was Howard Stern was
on the Eagle when he was here, right, obviously the
Russ Martin show Man. It's been so cool to be
a part of this. But we only have a couple
more days left. And if you're one of those people
it's like, man, too much talk, I want more rock.

(48:21):
Well you're going to get it because the Eagle is
going to play more rock music and afternoon Drive. We
are going to move our show, our little talk show,
over to lone Star ninety two five and we'll be
on from six to nine am. So we hope you'll
come with us if you listen to the iHeart Podcast,
and that's how you get the Beninskin Show on the
iHeart app Nothing changes for you because we're staying in
the iHeart family.

Speaker 1 (48:39):
Just moving down the hall.

Speaker 6 (48:40):
Anyways, coming up here in ten minutes, Well, we have
a story of a pretty bad rattlesnake bite.

Speaker 1 (48:46):
Right now, it's time for this.

Speaker 5 (48:48):
Come on.

Speaker 1 (48:52):
Surprise. What is the significance of the surprise being in there? Yeah?
I don't know. That's a good question. And I love
how the football in trot. It's like any of the grunts.

(49:16):
Yeah good.

Speaker 6 (49:17):
I don't know about to sit you like that? Or
did Steve make Steve? He's so good, Steve Classic? Whatever
happened to him. He's doing some stuff and he getting
a Lifetime Achievement award before we leave the Eagle or
is he going to get it when we're.

Speaker 1 (49:29):
On Lone Star. I don't know.

Speaker 3 (49:30):
I think they moved into the private sector CD stuff.

Speaker 5 (49:35):
Yea.

Speaker 3 (49:36):
I will say that Cowboys camp has really been chock
full of storylines. You know, you had Ceedee Lamb out
there catching passes but looking like a beekeepers he had
a net over his head.

Speaker 6 (49:47):
Saw that, saw that, and yeah, George Pickens tried it
for one pass. It flew by him and he's like, no.

Speaker 1 (49:52):
Not stupid.

Speaker 3 (49:54):
Yeah, if you all got to pay me first before
I do any of that. But the thing I think
I want to talk about the most is there were
two fights at Cowboys camp yesterday.

Speaker 1 (50:02):
Oh yeah, two fights.

Speaker 3 (50:04):
Fight number one, second year player Donovan as a Roku
threw a punch at Terrence Steele and shot. He kicked
him out of practice. Didn't have to do that, you know,
probably to punch at their helmet on.

Speaker 1 (50:20):
Yeah, he could have broken his hand. Is that really
what he's in trouble for.

Speaker 3 (50:23):
Well, he's in trouble for doing it, because if you
do that in a game, what's gonna happen? Oh right,
You're gonna get kicked out of the game, right, And
you're doing that at practice, then I'm gonna have to
kick you out of practice, right, and I uh, you
gonna I guess you kind of gotta be hard on
these guys. Every once in a while, it's early in camps,
so usually these guys gonna get their testosterone out on
the other guys. It's always weird, Like, yes, I'm right,

(50:46):
it's real gross. I regrete everything I said in the
last sentence. But so he was spreading they need a
big year out of Donovan as a Roku. He had
an off season where he just had a reckless driving charge.

Speaker 1 (50:58):
That's all.

Speaker 3 (50:58):
He's good, you know, it's fine. I think he's a
really good player. But I think I like that shot
he did that. I think that's a cool thing to do.
We practice how you play, right, right, that's what they say.

Speaker 6 (51:07):
Although don't you want that nastiness from both of them
and you know, like competing and.

Speaker 3 (51:12):
It's tough, right because now they're going to do a
whole thing where they're gonna have joint practices at some
point too of another team. And then so this is
the eleven year anniversary week of Tyler, Patman and Des
Bryant and their big fight that was great many years ago.
But the other fight involves the media, which is a
little bit I'm gonna make sure that this is not

(51:35):
too inside here, okay, but the Cowboys. Every NFL team
has their own rules for how their practices are. But
the Cowboys, I'll always in Oxnard, California, have tons of
Cowboys fans who go and sit in the bleachers and
watch their practices, and oftentimes these fans will get their
phone out and video the plays that are happy. So yesterday,

(51:58):
at some point during practice, the media got an email saying, hey,
you can't record this portion of practice, even though in
Aux Nard it's always been good outside of the walkthrough,
is that main part of practice? You can video it,
take clips, post them online. Yeah, you can show the place.

(52:19):
And I think new Cowboys coaches, maybe Christian Parker of
the defensive coordinators, who's new here, who had even said like, hey,
we know that we've used in the past clips from
you know, DFW media members.

Speaker 1 (52:36):
Yeah he's coming from the Eagle. Yeah, he says, you
we've done that.

Speaker 3 (52:39):
We've watched this, and the media is kind of like,
come on, man, this is our one time of year, y'all.
Let us like post videos. This is kind of our
life blood this time of year. People interacting with us
on social media because they saw George Pickens catch or
Dak made a nice throw, like that's important, we need
well it took about ten minutes, it got run up

(53:02):
the chain and Jerry's like, oh yeah, the media can absolutely,
they can absolutely record videos here.

Speaker 1 (53:09):
Now once they go back to the Star, they can't.

Speaker 3 (53:12):
I also, though, there's a lot of things to think
about here if the media can't take videos, like and
that was being thrown out there to them yesterday for
a little bit, that they can't take videos, and they're like, well,
how come the fans in the stands camp? It doesn't
matter in this day and age. If you've got one
hundred thousand followers. I've got five followers. If you post
a video it could get traction online. It does not matter.

Speaker 1 (53:31):
Point.

Speaker 3 (53:33):
That's the thing about the Star though to me, because
once you come back here you can't do all that stuff.
There's still people up in the Cowboy Club. Doctor Pepper's
got a little swite up there. Another company here. Any
JIBBRONI up in their office can go take puck online.

Speaker 6 (53:51):
I bet, Like I know, you can't take a phone
into the Cowboy Club. Yeah, you'll get kicked out. Yes,
Now those offices you probably have to sign a lease.
That's as maybe promise I won't ever take video of this,
and if I do, make sure.

Speaker 7 (54:05):
Every employee bid by that rule.

Speaker 3 (54:07):
Though.

Speaker 1 (54:08):
Yeah, the new trick play we had here and I
just saw it.

Speaker 3 (54:11):
On the Yes, I just think it's very interesting and
I don't know, it's like who a lot of times,
who cares what the media thinks? But they're sitting there
going the media is like, well, hold on, the fans
are getting to do it, and then let's just go
tell Jerry, and Jerry's like, hell, yeah, they can record it.
How else are we going to get clips on TV?
But what was the fight? That's it? The media fighting,

(54:33):
I guess ostensibly the coaching staff.

Speaker 1 (54:35):
Oh okay, in a way, I get it, get it? Yeah, yeah, because.

Speaker 3 (54:37):
The coaches are like, well we've used this before. They're like,
well we have always done this, and Jerry's like, yeah,
the media can happen.

Speaker 1 (54:43):
Yeah, we want the sauce. Can give us all the juice,
we want all the good All right there it is
cause the Cowboys coming up next in the weekly weekday
Update a Rattlesnake bite.

Speaker 6 (54:52):
That story is next before we get there. Thank you
to our friends at Parish Roofing. Grateful for these guys.
We were talking about all the partners that are gonna
come with us Loan Star ninety two five. We're grateful
full to Randy and his wife and their family. You know,
Parish Roofing, small family owned business. You don't hear them
advertising in other places. This is just a small little
experiment that they've tried to do with us. And you know,

(55:14):
for us, the advertiser is always the most important person
at the party. We can't have this fun, we can't
do this show without our partners. And when you have
a small family owned business like this that bets on
you and believes in you, it means the world. So
the other side of that coin is our listeners who
are loyal to us and who like being entertained by us.
If you want us to keep doing what we're doing,

(55:34):
the best way to support us is to support our
loyal advertising partners. So if you need a roofing company, man,
please use ours Parish Roofing. It would mean the world
to us. And the reality is in Dallas for Worth,
we get hail, we get high winds. If something displaces
a shingle on our roof and water is now getting
into our homes, well, that can lead to wood rod,
it can lead to mold, it could lead to some

(55:55):
serious financial repair. So it's important to get somebody up
there every once in a while just to make sure
your roof is water tight. Don't trust the guys going
door to door around your neighborhood. Those aren't even real companies.
There's no licensing for roofers in State of Texas. They're
just going to go hire subcontractors to do the work.
So if you haven't had anybody up on your roof
in a while, call our guy, Randy Parrish two one
four two two seven eight four eight eight. That's Parish

(56:17):
Roofing at two one four two two seven eight four
eight eight.

Speaker 3 (56:21):
The Benin Skin Show ninety seven to one The Eagle.
Hope you're doing great this afternoon.

Speaker 1 (56:26):
This is uh.

Speaker 3 (56:27):
We have three more afternoons left here on ninety seven
one The Eagle. Monday morning, The Benon Skin Show will
be on lone Star ninety two to five. Make sure
you have it on the iHeartRadio app six am to
nine am every day of beginning next Monday.

Speaker 1 (56:41):
Right now, let's do this? Are you excited?

Speaker 3 (56:44):
And now?

Speaker 6 (56:45):
Gets turn for pay Day featuring veteran news anchor kt
fun tweets.

Speaker 3 (56:53):
Two stories involving snakes. Okay went out in California. A
hiker got bit by a snake kind of in the
middle of nowhere, and they couldn't ping, they couldn't find
him on his device, his location because he was out
in the wilderness. So it's like a race against time
for him to get back to the city and to

(57:16):
the hospital to get the anti venom. Now the story
does say that he did make it in time, but
that's a crazy one. Anytime you're out in the middle
of nowhere, you're probably not expecting to get bit by rattlesnake.
And that is my advice for anyone who's outdoorsy. Don't
get bit by a snake.

Speaker 6 (57:35):
That's good advice because some people just are in a
rush to get bitten by one. You know, I watch
I watch a lot of social media about snakes, so
that means I sing you more and more social media
about snakes. And I watched these dudes go around just
in fields trying to find rattlesnakes, and they have these
long poles with a hook on them, and they find
a piece of flat wood laying on the ground and

(57:56):
they lift it up, and I'll be damned, there's some
rattlesnake under him all the time.

Speaker 1 (58:00):
And it's terrifying to me.

Speaker 6 (58:03):
That is the meanest looking creature, like they just look pissed,
they look angry, they have these huge fangs, they're just tough.

Speaker 1 (58:10):
I mean, it's like.

Speaker 6 (58:12):
It's still It boggles my mind how anybody would want
one of those as a pet. And I have nothing
but respect for all of our advertisers.

Speaker 1 (58:21):
A lot of them are coming with us.

Speaker 6 (58:22):
The lone Star ninety two five Snakes plus is one
of those advertisers, So no disrespect to Gary. That's the
number one retail snake you know, toxic poisonous snake, retail
chain whatever in DFW twenty seven locations.

Speaker 1 (58:35):
But I just don't get it.

Speaker 6 (58:36):
I mean, if you if you have a if you
have a pet that could kill someone, I kind of
feel like if that pet kills someone, it should be
on you. And I'm just saying, if you can't take
care of a deadly pet, I just don't Why does
anyone that's the meanest looking creature on earth? Entirely confusing
for me as well.

Speaker 3 (58:54):
I will say this hiker was he texted a family member, hey,
I'd got bit by a snake, and they couldn't find immediately.
Finally they did find him, terrified and got the anti vinum.
The other story that I have though, was a college
pitcher in baseball and he was going through a run
on a trail and he just came around the corner
and got bit okay, And he said, I got blindsided

(59:17):
by the snake, which was right at the turn, and
there's nothing I could have really done. He looked down,
saw the bike marks. He said, I turned around, I
saw the snake and it coiled. I saw it coil up,
and it hissed at me, and then it slithered off
into the bush, as if to say, I got umffor.

Speaker 7 (59:33):
Yeah, was it a rattlesnake as well?

Speaker 3 (59:36):
Or yes, it was rattlesnake. Now, this college pitcher's family
friend was a nurse and happened to be hiking the
trail that morning, so she oh was there. He was airlifted.
He got twenty doses of anti venom and still needed more.
He ended up going to a different hospital and got

(59:57):
fourteen more doses of the anti venom to basically save
his life. And I don't even want to think about
this guy's medical bills for the rest of his life.

Speaker 6 (01:00:06):
This is why I don't like to explore the great outdoors.
I like to explore the great indoors. You're way less
likely to get attacked by a rattlesnake. Yeah, there's rarely
going to be a snake in your house. Rarely it
could happen.

Speaker 1 (01:00:17):
It could happen, but it's probably not going to be
a rattlesnake.

Speaker 7 (01:00:20):
And we've talked about how expensive that anti venom is. Yeah,
do you remember how much? Did you say he got
more than twenty dose?

Speaker 6 (01:00:26):
Well, you can get it at Snakes plus and like
the three leader Old Doctor Pepper bottles you can get
Gina out.

Speaker 1 (01:00:31):
But I think it's like.

Speaker 6 (01:00:32):
I don't know n N ninety nine and they have
it locked too, Like aud you go to the razors
at a CVS.

Speaker 3 (01:00:38):
Yeah, I remember a guy locally has been my copper head.

Speaker 1 (01:00:43):
Oh that's right.

Speaker 3 (01:00:44):
And I don't know for because it's so rare that
they don't have endless supplies of this anti venom, right,
and they have to go milk these snakes to to
create the anti venom.

Speaker 1 (01:00:54):
Let's milk a snake.

Speaker 3 (01:00:56):
So you have to grab it, you lay it out
on the table and then you start put and then
you like they bite into like a beaker.

Speaker 6 (01:01:03):
Oh right, right, so it's you're not extracting their sperm
no no, no, yeah, or breast milk, but it's kind
of like their mouth sperm. Weirdly, it's their venue.

Speaker 1 (01:01:12):
Snakes have breast milk.

Speaker 6 (01:01:14):
Two one four seven eight seven one three. Immediately let
the general.

Speaker 1 (01:01:19):
Know, I don't think any of us know anything about anything. Yeah,
I think that's fair.

Speaker 6 (01:01:23):
All right, there you have it, Rattlesnake Talk coming up next,
it's the audio bubble bath, the greatest clips of our
time here on ninety seven to one The Eagle, which
is coming to a close rapidly.

Speaker 1 (01:01:33):
We get to that next right here on the Eagle.

Speaker 6 (01:01:37):
I can't help but be sentimental and a little bit
sad that our time is coming to a close here
on ninety seven to one The Eagle.

Speaker 1 (01:01:43):
Man. It's been a pleasure to be here.

Speaker 6 (01:01:45):
And uh, you know, when we started, we did a
couple hours and led right into the Bruss Martin Show
and Rest in Peace for Russ, an absolute legend. So
many Eagle listeners gave us a shot, but a lot
of people were like, no one in radio likes change,
And I get that.

Speaker 1 (01:01:59):
Can we all get it?

Speaker 6 (01:02:00):
Because we're all listeners first, when we grew up listening
to radio and Dallas fort Worth, and no one likes
their routine change. They don't like new radio shows. I
get it, but so many of you gave us a chance,
and I'm grateful. I just want to say thank you.
You know, we've we support our families by by doing this.
And you know, it's the only job my kids have
ever known me to have is to be a radio host.

(01:02:21):
And I think that's a huge honor. So it's a fun,
fun job, and it doesn't happen if you don't give
us a chance to let us entertain you. So big
thanks to everybody here listening to ninety seven point one
the Eagle, who's given the Beninskin Show just a chance
to be a part of your daily routine. We've got
today's show, then we have Thursday and Friday, and then
we're done, and our show is moving to mornings on
lone Star ninety two five. We'll be on from six

(01:02:43):
to nine am. But with no further ado, it's time
for this.

Speaker 3 (01:02:53):
Good it's good for you. I did create a document
to let our our audience vote on the listeners have
voted top sixty nine moments in our history. Here at
ninety seven to one, The Eagle and I took out
the Freak years as well. So all these moments happened
on the Eagle and we're counting down sixty nine because

(01:03:14):
we're going to be six to nine am when we
get a launch far ninety five. It's quite a tie in.

Speaker 1 (01:03:18):
Really.

Speaker 3 (01:03:20):
Number fifty five is where we pick up the countdown,
and this is labeled catchup.

Speaker 1 (01:03:26):
What's the matchup? Honey?

Speaker 3 (01:03:28):
Number thirteen? Catchup number twenty. Honey, give me honey, Honey, Yes,
give me honey.

Speaker 1 (01:03:33):
We've already got a ketchup representation in this thing. It's
the wrong thing. It's the wrong ketchup. What ketchup do
you want it to be?

Speaker 3 (01:03:40):

They have been together from many I love bubble boys.

Speaker 3 (01:12:04):
Yeah, it's funny when it happens. It's uncontrollable too, together
number fifty on the countdown, Ben phrasing.

Speaker 6 (01:12:15):
What percentage of dates or relationships that go wrong leave
people with a happy taste in their mouth in other words,
or satisfying. Okay, let's say we got to be a
better way to say that. Rising, just got to be
a better way to say that. You could tell you

(01:12:37):
were stumbling too. Oh yeah, I was having a problem
getting there. You'd hear the lobotomy, like twitching. Or relationships
that go wrong leave people with a happy taste in
their mouth in other words, or satisfying.

Speaker 1 (01:12:51):
Okay, let's say I got number forty nine.

Speaker 3 (01:13:00):
This happened October twenty seventh, twenty twenty one, and we
were having a discussion about thinking about your ex'es or something,
and this is I don't think I need to tell
you the title this quib.

Speaker 6 (01:13:12):
Look, obviously your old relationship wasn't perfect or you would
have stayed in it, but there's parts of it that
might have been pretty good.

Speaker 3 (01:13:20):
Things you miss about old relationships. I mean it's pretty similar.
But you used to go to the beach, yeah every year?

Speaker 7 (01:13:27):
Okay, cool?

Speaker 1 (01:13:28):
You had the perfect sized fist for what for dapping?

Speaker 6 (01:13:38):
Talking about the first sapping, shaking it in the air
out a driver that first ad of them.

Speaker 1 (01:13:43):
By the way, I got to show you, guys a
picture of.

Speaker 6 (01:13:45):
This animal that looks exactly like a cat, a dog,
and a bear all at the same time.

Speaker 1 (01:13:51):
Eighty he's nothing to say to your wife.

Speaker 6 (01:13:54):
He will hold his phone, be looking at his phone,
and still just jump into the conver station. That was
his Rick Flair moment.

Speaker 1 (01:14:02):
It really was.

Speaker 3 (01:14:03):
Yeah, by the way, just to get out of a
shocking thing. He said, perfect sized fist for dapping?

Speaker 8 (01:14:14):
What?

Speaker 3 (01:14:14):
Yeah, and then been to a good teammate for what
number forty eight. There's a lot of things in life
that Ben likes, including this. How about a watch?

Speaker 1 (01:14:24):
It's fantastic. Yeah, I mean my wrists are too skinny.

Speaker 6 (01:14:28):
Watches look like clunky things on my skinny wrist, So I.

Speaker 1 (01:14:31):
Don't like watch. I like watching. He's got a nice rist, though,
he said, I like watch. I like Watch.

Speaker 6 (01:14:36):
Not only that, that's also his description of his voyeuristic
tendencies of fort.

Speaker 1 (01:14:42):
Alright, man, I had good luck out there. I like
Watch about that. Oh my god, dude, watch that is
straight lebody k man, I like Watch. Are you a
cowboy fan? I like Watch.

Speaker 3 (01:15:00):
You don't zun into the conversation in the beginning either,
So I'm glad you're actually messed up because we were
running out of steam.

Speaker 1 (01:15:07):
Has it out? No one's loving this topic. How about
a watch? Fantastic? Yeah, I mean my wrists are too skinny.

Speaker 6 (01:15:15):
Watches look like clunky thing on my skinny wrist, So
I don't like watch.

Speaker 1 (01:15:18):
I like watching. He's got a nice risk said, I
like watch.

Speaker 2 (01:15:21):
Watch.

Speaker 1 (01:15:23):
Golly, there's some iHeart executive going. Hmm.

Speaker 6 (01:15:26):
We had a scout listening to that show. Let's move
them to morning drive on lone Star. That sounds like
a perfect for that.

Speaker 1 (01:15:32):
Wasting away in the afternoon. Yeh uh. Number forty seven.

Speaker 3 (01:15:38):
Skin tried to be cute and work in some Spanish,
and Christina corrected him Yellow Card.

Speaker 7 (01:15:46):
Whoa, there's a band I love old yellow Card. I
stopped keeping up with him. But I know our drummer Joey,
his daughter is obsessed. They will be at that show tonight.

Speaker 6 (01:15:56):
So you should do a Latin cover and version of
them called uh, I'm a rio Lotteria.

Speaker 7 (01:16:07):
It'd be more tarta for cards.

Speaker 6 (01:16:11):
Wrong.

Speaker 1 (01:16:12):
Yeah, I thought it was pretty close, pretty close. Not
only was it a bad idea, it was also wrong.
Those things are Kevin, wait, what most things are are?
It was a bad idea. It was again.

Speaker 7 (01:16:28):
Immediately I took the bad music down, I was like,
let's see what he does.

Speaker 1 (01:16:33):
It's not going to be good. Why would you do
that cover band? It's just weird.

Speaker 3 (01:16:38):
Lotaria forty six takes us to Christina Ray.

Speaker 7 (01:16:45):
We brought this up Friday. Not replacing the toilet roll? Yeah,
toilet roll, toilet roll?

Speaker 1 (01:16:52):
What you're saying toilet roll?

Speaker 7 (01:16:55):
Are you saying replaced the toilet roll roll? Toilet roll?

Speaker 1 (01:16:59):
But you said.

Speaker 7 (01:17:01):
Toilet roll? So it wrote, Oh, you've seen it really fast.

Speaker 6 (01:17:06):
It's tough. They all can turn into just every once
in a while. Not very often you little country comes out,
you know, tot It wrote, let's send it with one
more here.

Speaker 3 (01:17:16):
Okay, this is from spring of twenty twenty four.

Speaker 1 (01:17:22):
So after a couple of years.

Speaker 3 (01:17:23):
On the Eagle, we were on ninety seven one the
Freak for about a year and a half, and then
we had a relaunch party of the Eagle and it
was at Reunion Tower. And after never seeing really anyone
in the company during the Freak days, the entire company
was at Reunion Tower. So there's the audience watching us
do our show as the Eagles relaunched, and this joke

(01:17:47):
really did well for skin.

Speaker 1 (01:17:49):
Oh yeah, so this is number forty five. I've known
been his.

Speaker 6 (01:17:54):
Whole life, and his whole life, Bend's big three has
been Reunion Tower, big Tax, and.

Speaker 1 (01:18:00):
The condem sense on mocking. He always said three most
iconic things in Dallas. I said, that's where I spend
my most time. Oh right, okay, okay, And it's funny.
It's funny. But the crowd on mocking, I said, they did, Yeah,

(01:18:22):
doesn't even give it enough joke that was been.

Speaker 7 (01:18:25):
It's like, we have such better jokes than that guy.

Speaker 1 (01:18:27):
Made a cake for us. It's like if you not
listened to the last eighteen months that was That was hard.

Speaker 3 (01:18:32):
It was an odd day, but it was also fun
and I'm glad it happened.

Speaker 1 (01:18:36):
Yeah, well everything happened.

Speaker 6 (01:18:39):
All I know is it's been a good run for
us here on ninety seven one the Eagle, and we
only have two more shows left, so I hope you'll
tune in Thursday and Friday to the Beninskin Show, and
then on Monday, our new shift begins on our new home,
Lone Star ninety two five will be doing mornings from
six to nine am.

Speaker 1 (01:18:55):
Uh man.

Speaker 6 (01:18:57):
I'll never forget the time that Kat walked up to
that cake that they were about to give us and
he stared at it. Then he looked at the person
holding it and he said.

Speaker 1 (01:19:05):
Some throats are more powerful than others.

Speaker 6 (01:19:07):
Yep, And that had the lasting impression. Christina. You gonna
stay and play music o'clock? All right, we're almost done
on the Eagle. To everyone who's been a part of
this one, thank you so much.

Speaker 1 (01:19:17):
