Speaker 3 (00:14):
Get except with smar Sweet pursuing it, hounld Out Shaw
Shank through the sewer Kid. Now we're chilling at day Eagle. Yeah,
we're doing it. Three o'clock on the dock. Got a
habit for my house, a goat status. How we'd starting
to get Crattit shows that enough multiplied like a rabbit.
Speaker 4 (00:32):
Tune in, zone out, crank it up, beat the habit.
I wanna hang out with her, turn rocking on the radio, my.
Speaker 5 (00:42):
Home on boys kin Skin.
Speaker 1 (00:44):
And talking on the radio.
Speaker 6 (00:48):
It's time to.
Speaker 2 (00:49):
To this long.
Speaker 7 (00:52):
All there we go Okki to stream.
Speaker 4 (00:58):
All up on our radio.
Speaker 7 (01:00):
Ah.
Speaker 1 (01:00):
Yes, this is the world famous Ben and Skin Show
ninety seven point one The Eagle, Ben Rogers, no Jeff
skin Way Today. He will be back Monday. We'll talk
about that Kevin KT teardown setlist, Turner and Christina Ka
Ray a little bit of.
Speaker 3 (01:15):
So.
Speaker 1 (01:16):
Skin will be back Monday, and that'll be our first
show ever doing mornings on lone Star ninety two five.
This is an unprecedented move. We've worked at a lot
of different stations, usually we decide to go somewhere else.
We've never been fired. Luckily, probably will happen this time.
But you have to sit out and non compete, and
then you go to that other station. While you're out
(01:38):
during the non compete, your listeners have no idea where
you went. You can't promote it, can't even talk about
it on social media, and so this is unprecedented, at
least from my world and what I've ever experienced. We
are promoting where we're going the other station we're going
to because it's owned by the same parent company iHeartMedia.
So I'm looking out in the hallway right now from
(01:58):
the Eagle studio and I see a giant lone star
ninety two to five logo because we're literally moving stations,
but we're only walking about three feet and so we
are leaving Afternoon Drive. We've been here since feb twenty twenty.
This is our second to last show on ninety seven
one to the Eagle. When we leave, you'll get more music.
So for those of you who didn't ever want to
hear us talking and laughing and joking around, you only
(02:19):
want music. You're about to get more rock. So congratulations
to those of you, to those of you who have
enjoyed us entertaining you and we've put a smile on
your face and we've kind of done life together. We
certainly hope you'll come with us and you'll start listening
to us in the morning on lone Star ninety two five.
Starting this Monday, we'll be on at six am. We'll
do our show from six to nine, and if you
listen via podcast, nothing will change now for us, we
(02:42):
don't do a lot of sports talk on this show.
We have talked sports at other We've worked at the
Ticket the Fan, ESPN, We've worked at other stations where
we have talked a lot of sports. We are passionate
about local sports, but we just don't do deep dives here.
We did negotiate the right to have our own media
company called Haymaker Network that we own. It's the Haymaker
Sports Network. It's a local sports party and it's on YouTube.
(03:06):
And today I had this aired at noon today on
the Haymaker Network on YouTube. Go subscribe, it's free. But
I interviewed Darren Woodson and I interviewed him for a
show that we do, our cowboys show called star Time,
and I got to say It was one of my
favorite interviews I've ever been a part of. If my
daughter was here, she goes, you say that every time. Okay, maybe,
(03:28):
but I loved it. And he told a story that
I'm going to share with you guys, and I can't
tell it as well as he did, So go watch
it on the Haymaker Network. But a little birdie tipped
me off that I should have asked Darren Woodson about
the first time that he met Michael Irvin. Okay, so
I asked him, and he tells the story on the
Haymaker Network and he says, we're in a meeting. He
(03:50):
was a rookie. They hadn't even met any of the
other players yet. This must have been like rookie OTAs.
And they're at a meeting in Dave Campo is walking
them through a wide show. The lights are off and
they haven't met a single veteran yet, and it's all
the rookies in one room, and it's like, click, here's
cover two. Click, here's what we do with our goal
line unit. Click, here's what we do on that, And
(04:11):
he's just walking them through what sounded like a pretty
boring presentation about basic defensive stuff. All of a sudden,
the light pops on and the door flies open, and
it's Michael Irvin butt ass naked, the shoulder pads, nothing,
He's totally nude, and he storms into this meeting with
(04:33):
all this rookie, all these rookies, and he's screaming at
the top of his lungs. He's like, we.
Speaker 7 (04:38):
Don't play you. You think you were a star in college,
you ain't us.
Speaker 8 (04:42):
We played a win championships and if you'reri't about a championship,
then get the hell.
Speaker 1 (04:46):
Out of here.
Speaker 7 (04:47):
And he's nude, yelling at the.
Speaker 9 (04:51):
He's yelling at these rookies at the top of his
lungs and he's like, where are you playing a win
like he's And they're just like in Woodson's I'm just
trying to look from the shoulders up.
Speaker 7 (05:01):
I'm trying not to look down.
Speaker 1 (05:03):
But I imagine as he's shopping around animatedly, they're hopping around,
happening at it.
Speaker 7 (05:08):
It's barking at it.
Speaker 1 (05:09):
You too, helicoptering and you gotta resist. You can't look,
you know, I mean, but he is so fired up
and he's yelling, and he's like he's losing his voice.
He's yelling at us so much, and he's setting the tone,
setting the culture, and we're like in shock, and all
of a sudden, you know, he storms out. He shuts
off the light and he slams the door and it
(05:31):
makes the super loud and everyone's like looking at himselves,
like what just happened? And he said, Dave Campo without
missing a beat, hits the clicker and goes, Okay, this
is the four to three.
Speaker 5 (05:42):
This is the and he was like normal, didn't.
Speaker 9 (05:44):
React out, It's just this is normal around here for
Michael Irvin to run in here, dong out and scream
at everyone at the top of.
Speaker 1 (05:53):
His voice, all right, this is the four to three
and the cowboy dude, what is that?
Speaker 10 (05:58):
Amazing?
Speaker 7 (05:59):
It was like nothing I have seen before.
Speaker 2 (06:01):
Very right.
Speaker 7 (06:03):
Campo was there and helped. I mean Campo was the
defensive coordinator. I guess yeah, he probably helped draft Darren
Woodson because Darren Woodson missed that like Troy and Michael
Irvans first couple of years, right, and then comes then because.
Speaker 1 (06:17):
The first year he was there, they won a Super Bowl. Yeah,
ninety two was his first year as a rookie and
he ran a four he was a thumper. He was
an outside linebacker, was a thumb guy, played kind of
a rover position, but he ran a four to three
but also was one of the hardest hittingers in the league. Yeah,
and so he basically played the exact position that Caleb
(06:40):
Downs is going to play for the Cowboys. Now. He
was ahead of his time. He was a hybrid player
who was fast but also a hard heart hitter. And
he could cover Tony Gonzalez or he could cover Randy
Moss that's crazy. And he could also stuff the run
and knock a running backs head off.
Speaker 7 (06:55):
And I remember we're talking before the show, like he
was on ESPN for a while once he retired as
his an analyst. I really forgot that radio n TV. Yeah,
completely forgotten that.
Speaker 1 (07:04):
Yeah, he's so good if you watch us here, I'm
sitting there doing an interview with him, and I'm like,
you could be the best guy covering the NFL. Like
he's that good, that polish, he speaks with conviction. He's
just such a great guy. But he said he got
a lesson from Roger Staback. Roger Steback pulled him aside,
and that's his mentor. And Roger Staubach has made gazillions
of dollars in real estate. Yeah, and he pulled him
(07:26):
aside and said, man, if you go work in media,
you'll be hired to be fired. They'll walk your ass
right out of that building. But if you go build
a real estate company, you'll make a lot of money
and I'll ever walk in, you'll own it. And so
that's what he did. And so he is so wildly
successful in the business world that he really doesn't have
time to do media. But man, I was so happy
(07:49):
to have him in. And you know, we go way
back with him, and he was sitting there talking to
us about Haymaker and talk to us about roller Town.
He's like, that's what I chose to do. I chose
to go build my own thing too, And he just
had a lot of respect for it. So I'm hoping
that we end up doing a lot more with Woody.
That's awesome, dude.
Speaker 7 (08:07):
Darren Woods, an all time fan favorite, always compared him
to how Rangers fans think of Rusty Greer and maybe
like he's more like Pudge level because he's like, should
be in the NFL Hall of Fame.
Speaker 1 (08:17):
Yeah, she's the all time Tackles leader for the Dallas Cowboys,
and he's the second All team special teams tackler the Cowboys.
Speaker 5 (08:25):
I was thought Bill Bates would have been up there.
Speaker 1 (08:27):
I don't know if Bill Bates is number one, but
he insisted on playing special teams. He didn't want to
come on.
Speaker 7 (08:31):
That's crazy. Yeah, nowadays, can you imagine kid? I don't
make him like that anymore. Yeah, like they need to
breathe right now.
Speaker 1 (08:37):
They won't ask Caleb down to the place specially now. Yeah,
they want to get hurt. All right, There you have it.
Go watch that interview with Darren Woodson on the Haymaker
Network on YouTube. Be sure to subscribe. Lots of great
Cowboys content coming your way season. Getting ready to get
going the wayback machines getting going today at three point thirty.
But where are you gonna take us next? In the
entertainment headlines, this is.
Speaker 7 (08:54):
The most jacked I've ever been for a stand up
comedy special. And I'll tell you why next time. Ninety
seven won the Eagle. Before we get there, want to
say thank you to Orchard dot com O R C.
Speaker 1 (09:03):

Skin is still not with us. Will be back next

(10:06):
to five mornings.
Speaker 5 (10:08):
Everyone ready, six to nine am.
Speaker 7 (10:11):
All right, maybe get a little getting bad a little
bit early Sunday night and you out there or stay

the Ben and Skin Show podcast. We'll put the full
show up every day, but we want you to listen
to us live six to nine am beginning Monday morning.
Speaker 5 (10:30):
Right now, it's time for this in Team Tainment.
Speaker 7 (10:35):
In lie.
Speaker 5 (10:37):
I probably sent you guys clips of this guy.
Speaker 7 (10:39):
We've played a couple on the show, my current favorite
stand up comedian, and it comes and goes because comedians
are like athletes and bands, actors. They have their prime,
they have their early years, they're old years, they have
their prime. The guy who's in his prime right now,
in my opinion, is a guy named Rory Scovell.
Speaker 5 (10:56):
And he is not household name. He should be.
Speaker 7 (10:59):
He was a few shows that Rooster Show on hbo oh,
I love him. He was the cop he's been in something.
He's had some good roles, Yeah, very small roles and
good things.
Speaker 5 (11:07):
Tiny Rolls. So his new stand up special is coming out.
Speaker 7 (11:11):
That sounded crazy Rolls. His new stand up special comes
out next Tuesday on Netflix, and yesterday he leaked out
a one minute clip of it.
Speaker 5 (11:23):
Okay, So I just want.
Speaker 7 (11:24):
To get everyone on board here, and then I'm gonna
play something from his last special that has always made
me laugh.
Speaker 1 (11:30):
So here we go.
Speaker 11 (11:31):
If my wife.
Speaker 12 (11:32):
Died, it would obviously be emotionally shattering. It would also
be very difficult because anything that's happened in my home
successfully is because my wife basically did it. If my
wife died, we would be lost. There'd be a lot
of mornings I'd be looking at my kid like, hey,
I just want you to know that.
Speaker 7 (11:49):
I'm this mom too.
Speaker 11 (11:51):
But come on, where do you go to school?
Speaker 12 (11:57):
Any food allergies I should know about?
Speaker 11 (12:00):
Are you strong like me? Like Pop Pap?
Speaker 12 (12:04):
Also, now that Mom's gone, I want you to call
me pop Pa and I want to hear those peace
pop and I want to hear him in front of
your friends. I don't think you understand we are we are.
I probably got to put the dog down because I
can't handle that.
Speaker 11 (12:19):
Right now.
Speaker 12 (12:20):
I don't even know where this fatulists are because they're
not where I would have kept them. Pancakes are done.
You lost more than your mom's sweetheart. You lost your dog,
and you lost pancakes.
Speaker 1 (12:33):
Us so good.
Speaker 7 (12:34):
He's my favorite. His timing is so good. It's so good.
So I have pop pop I do. It's not where
I would put this. Batel is.
Speaker 5 (12:46):
Easy to say now.
Speaker 7 (12:48):
So I have two quips from his last special, which
is so good and probably a top fiver for me. Honestly.
It was on HBO in twenty twenty four, and he's
talking about when people are asking all these questions about
what's in the vaccine.
Speaker 12 (13:00):
So I still don't know what's in the vaccine, and
I'll never know what's in the vaccine.
Speaker 11 (13:06):
I'm not so stupid.
Speaker 12 (13:07):
I'm gonna go sit down to find out how dumb
I am. Yeah, I got the vaccine. Yes, I got
all the boosters. If it saves my life, fine, if
it kills me, great. But the last thing you will
ever see me do is google what's in the vaccine
(13:28):
and then sit there and pretend as though I understand
the words that whoa glorbasol, whoa whoa whoa actually whoa?
Speaker 11 (13:38):
Actually that is like a big deal.
Speaker 12 (13:40):
I didn't know we were there yet with glorybasol. Glad
that's in there. But I'll tell you what that tetra
tranazine that's got me wondering who's really in charge?
Speaker 7 (13:54):
You gotta think a shot at Aaron Rodgers there, you know,
and then he was talking about out he's doing his show,
and then he starts there, you know, filming it for
his last special. He just starts talking to the director
of the special that has some things he wants to
edit it to it, and I think he's riffing, like
I'm not sure this is a part of his act.
He does like add things. He doesn't just do it
(14:15):
by the book. Here's his hour every time he changes
it up a lot.
Speaker 12 (14:19):
I've been to the doctor before and the doctor's been like,
all right, I'm gonna give you a shot.
Speaker 11 (14:22):
Now, and I've just been like, okay, I don't even
think I was sick. All right, you're due for a shot. Great.
Speaker 12 (14:28):
Can I leave after this? Because I hate it here?
That's the most expensive, worst place I want to leave.
All right, well edit that part up. When we edit this,
can we please pump in so many laughs? It's so
clearly not the crowd. It's like literally like a stadium
(14:48):
when I come out with the lights. Can we like
just get like some audio from like a Taylor Swift concert,
like screaming like I don't think that theater is that sigh.
So look, this is just a for Jeff the director.
At some point, could we just like dub in someone
in the crowd being like he's great, wow, And.
Speaker 11 (15:09):
Like someone over here we just kind of hear it.
Speaker 12 (15:11):
They're like, I can't believe I'm just now hearing about
this guy.
Speaker 11 (15:15):
And then like over here someone's.
Speaker 12 (15:16):
Like I already donates a lot of money to different
things that are worth it.
Speaker 7 (15:21):
They didn't even describe.
Speaker 11 (15:22):
It, donates to things that need it. Chris seem dumb.
Speaker 6 (15:31):
Favorite, Oh that's great. What's his name again, Rory Scovell?
All right, yeah, dude, he's had great little roles. You know,
anything he's on, You're like, damn, okay. I still think
people know about him as much.
Speaker 7 (15:42):
He got a little traction in COVID because he was
doing some long like shows. He like twelve nights and
twelve different sets, and a lot of it is crowd work,
and a lot of it's kind of just some improv stuff.
But he's very good and his new special comes out
next Tuesday the eleventh on Netflix.
Speaker 1 (15:57):
God can't wait all right? Coming up next, we crank
up the Wayback Machine. This is our second to last
show ever on the Eagle. The countdown of our top
sixty nine moments ever on the Eagle continues next. Since
February of twenty twenty, the Ben and Skin Show has
been right here on ninety seven one the Eagle, but
today is our next to last show ever. Starting Monday,
we'll be on mornings on lone Star ninety two five.
(16:20):
You Eagle listeners will get more rock and folks on
lone Star ninety two point five. We'll get our comedic
stylings in the morning. So we very much look forward
to that and hope you'll come with us. But right
now it's time for.
Speaker 7 (16:31):
This, folks.
Speaker 1 (16:35):
It's time to go into the Bitter Skin Show worryback.
Speaker 5 (16:38):
Motion chow production there.
Speaker 7 (16:41):
Yeah, okay, we're starting a countdown top sixty nine moments
from our six and a half year run here ninety
seven won the Eagle minus the Freak years, so it
takes it down to five years, I guess, but in
sixty nine because we're going to six to nine am.
I mean, it's a perfect tie. Yeah, come on, folks,
and get your mind up a gutter folks too.
Speaker 1 (17:01):
Yeah, Christina.
Speaker 7 (17:02):
Sorry, So we're going to pick it up at number
forty four, and if you've missed it at the end
of the week, I will as a gift as a
parting gift to the Eagle audience, but it will stand
on the Benningskin Show podcast. I will put the entire
sixty nine clip show countdown all in one podcast file,
all these segments together.
Speaker 5 (17:19):
Yeah, so everyone can enjoy.
Speaker 7 (17:21):
I will also say the last five minutes of tomorrow's show.
I don't know that we'll be able to podcast it,
but I have created a little something Oh good, I
know what it is.
Speaker 5 (17:29):
Then might make everyone cry.
Speaker 1 (17:32):
I definitely am already crying.
Speaker 5 (17:33):
But I don't know if I'll be on the podcast
or not.
Speaker 7 (17:36):
So listen live to the last five minutes show and
more than more importantly, the future Right Monday six to
nine eight, let's start ninety two five. Number forty four
is labeled Oh, by the way, I let the audience
vote on this too.
Speaker 5 (17:48):
I didn't have any say in this.
Speaker 7 (17:49):
I put it on a document that the listeners voted,
and number forty four is labeled KT pickle joke.
Speaker 5 (17:55):
So the Big Bill Pickle Fest is sold out?
Speaker 1 (17:59):
Damn freaking news. Did you see the on the scalper market.
How much those Dell pickle picket fast? I'm like, oh,
they're insane, They're just and where is it again?
Speaker 5 (18:09):
Texas Live, Texte. I guess you could go and you
can stand in Brian in line. He's so proud of himself.
Speaker 7 (18:17):
I should be. Look, it's been a rough week for
everyone involved. Everyone's going through a lot, and I just
think that if we can end and I'll be uh
very optimistic about a good weekend, that would be very cool.
Speaker 1 (18:29):
How do we not already have that damp the ship?
Speaker 5 (18:33):
I heard the MAVs play tonight.
Speaker 13 (18:35):
Yeah, that's good sports.
Speaker 1 (18:39):
Fuck I heard the MAVs play tonight.
Speaker 10 (18:42):
Just wait for another pickle you just gave was.
Speaker 7 (18:46):
Trying to get out.
Speaker 1 (18:47):
There was a stretch there where it felt like, for
a lot of time we were doing certain stories just
to drive you to get to like a flurry of
like three or four jokes that have been written down
in your joke book.
Speaker 5 (18:58):
Yeah, it happens a few times.
Speaker 1 (18:59):
I love it.
Speaker 5 (19:00):
I think, though, you're not completely innocent on that, and
get that later.
Speaker 7 (19:04):
Elmer number forty three Love Randy Parrish over at parish roofing.
He's been on top of my roof just one bound,
jumped on top of Neil Ladder.
Speaker 1 (19:14):
No no, no, no no no no.
Speaker 5 (19:15):
We had him onto and Skin struggled to sign off
with him.
Speaker 1 (19:18):
Oh all right, hey Randy, thanks for calling in man,
be safe up.
Speaker 5 (19:21):
There, Butta absolutely you guys be good?
Speaker 1 (19:24):
All right there? He goes. That made kat purka, buta
what's butta? I was gonna say, brother.
Speaker 7 (19:32):
It happens even Randy had like a one second pause
like that, what calling in man?
Speaker 1 (19:37):
Be safe up there?
Speaker 4 (19:37):
Butta absolutely, you guys be good? All right there?
Speaker 1 (19:40):
He goes, Buttera, buttera safe up there? Butta to say? Brother?
Speaker 7 (19:46):
You know, do you guys think that Randy Parrish has
ever been to a hardware store?
Speaker 4 (19:52):
Oh?
Speaker 7 (19:53):
Buddy, yeah, interesting, I wonder which one he would go to.
Speaker 5 (19:57):
Ben Uh number forty two.
Speaker 10 (20:00):
To officials they found a Milwaukee router inside his pants.
Speaker 1 (20:04):
I'll google that pass.
Speaker 7 (20:05):
Okay, Milwaukee router urban diiction, you will be shocked the
Milwaukee rowdy.
Speaker 1 (20:12):
Let me do a Milwaukee Router.
Speaker 7 (20:14):
Oh my, yeah, it's something It only yeahs okay.
Speaker 1 (20:19):
Have you guys been to an ACE hardware recently?
Speaker 10 (20:25):
I forgot about that.
Speaker 9 (20:26):
I sound like Roy too when he's crying, thank you,
have you guys been?
Speaker 1 (20:32):
Hey?
Speaker 7 (20:33):
Okay, it's something It only yeahs okay?
Speaker 1 (20:37):
Have you guys been to an ACE hardware recently?
Speaker 6 (20:41):
Then?
Speaker 7 (20:42):
Then I'm about to tell everyone with the Milwaukee Router
is that urban year?
Speaker 5 (20:45):
Okay, let me cut the line. That kind important question.
Speaker 1 (20:52):
It's way more important to find that what's ever been
to a hardware store?
Speaker 6 (20:55):
I think clearly he's very emotional about it, so we
need to know.
Speaker 10 (20:58):
I think I was.
Speaker 7 (20:58):
Taking my time, just trying to find a clean way
to say it on the radio.
Speaker 5 (21:02):
It only yeahs okay.
Speaker 7 (21:05):
Have you guys been to a Face hardware recently?
Speaker 11 (21:08):
Around the horn?
Speaker 1 (21:10):
Does anyone use He was just about to take the
ball and run at ninety nine yards for a touchdown,
and as his own teammate, I reached out and stripped
the ball out of his hands and fell on it
and stopped the play.
Speaker 7 (21:24):
When we come back, let's do it for Dirk and
pick it up at number forty one and we will
turn the spotlight on Christina Ray ninety seven to one.
Speaker 1 (21:31):

Speaker 7 (22:07):
Let's give away three eleven and Dirty Heads tickets a
pair of them to the toy olt To Music Factory
August twenty fifth. Gonna be a big show. And if
you download the iHeartRadio app, you leave a talkback message
that's on the red microphone button. I'll leave your name, number,
email data, birth. You will be in the running. We'll
do a little drawing. You'll be in the running to
win a pair of tickets to go see three eleven
(22:29):
and the Dirty Heads. We've been talking about this, we
will continue to talk about it until we make our
new home. The Ben and Skin Show is going to
lone Star ninety two five. If you're just now hearing that, cool,
all right. We're going to ninety two five next week
and we're going to New Mornings six to nine am.
Speaker 12 (22:48):
Skin.
Speaker 7 (22:48):
We'll be back on Monday. We got Ben here. I'm Kevin.
If you don't know me, that's Christina Ray. She does
nights on the Eagle by the way six to ten still,
so she's doing nights six to ten in morning six
to nine.
Speaker 5 (22:59):
Christina is a psychopath.
Speaker 1 (23:00):
Good for me.
Speaker 7 (23:03):
She also does mid days in another market. She gets
on a plane and flies to the Tom Joyner is
that the guy who did that?
Speaker 1 (23:10):
Yes, Tom Johnder used to do two different shows in
two different cities every day.
Speaker 5 (23:15):
That's crazy. So yeah, six to nine am.
Speaker 7 (23:17):
So what I wanted to do this week to treat everyone,
the audience and ourself, the final Eagle countdown the top
sixty nine clips from our time on the Eagle. Because
we got here in February of twenty twenty. We're picking
it up at number forty one. It's labeled Phil Jackman
as we were playing a game show and this happened.
(23:39):
He has a basic name that starts the P. His
last name starts with the j oh, Phil Jackman, not
Phil Jackman. Who is Phil Jackman?
Speaker 5 (23:48):
Then Hugh Jackman, Phil Jackman.
Speaker 6 (23:55):
It is a basic name, it is, but I think
it's so excited.
Speaker 1 (24:00):
At the beginning where she's just rampant.
Speaker 5 (24:01):
Oh, he has a basic name that starts the P.
His last name starts with the j.
Speaker 7 (24:07):
Oh, Phil Jackman, not Phil Jackman. Who is Phil Jackman?
Speaker 2 (24:11):
You know?
Speaker 5 (24:11):
So Christina does like it.
Speaker 7 (24:13):
When it's time to compete, has a little bit of
Turett's like it just gets competitive. Turetts Yeah, because we've
played Fortnite with God, she cussed so much. We were
all blushing. We'd never heard language like that. Oh shoot, shot,
chop shoop.
Speaker 10 (24:27):
You're welcome.
Speaker 1 (24:29):
That's great.
Speaker 7 (24:33):
We ease into the top forty. We were discussing a
few people and we've learned a few times in the
show that someone is no longer with us and this happened.
Speaker 1 (24:46):
Yeah, the hottest white guy on earth is what's his
name from Barbie Ryan Goslin, he would be great in.
Speaker 14 (24:52):
It is Glenn Palell, right, Okay, same speed, Okay, Glenn Campbell,
oh dead and rough up on the show yestra that
Terry Glenn, not Terry Glenn a dead oh man?
Speaker 5 (25:05):
Yeah, when did this breaking news to be?
Speaker 1 (25:08):
I think it's like a decade ago, right, everything runs to.
Speaker 14 (25:10):
The wather.
Speaker 1 (25:14):
Break the news.
Speaker 11 (25:14):
For me, it's very much one of those moments where
you find.
Speaker 7 (25:19):
Out something happened a long time ago.
Speaker 5 (25:20):
A tough deal.
Speaker 11 (25:22):
What year?
Speaker 5 (25:23):
Seven kids, twenty seventeen.
Speaker 1 (25:24):
Twenty seventeen, nine years ago?
Speaker 5 (25:28):
What happened?
Speaker 7 (25:29):
She's in a wreck and irving.
Speaker 5 (25:32):
Oh Ben, stop laughing. Not enough time has passed. That's
been nine years.
Speaker 1 (25:39):
Yea, damn stumbling.
Speaker 7 (25:40):
The answer we were looking for was Austin Butler, by
the way, he'd the trivia question somehow stumbled into Terry
Glenn former Cowboys wider.
Speaker 1 (25:48):
The music gets rolling, you know, you cook.
Speaker 7 (25:52):
Even Christine at one point though, just the fact there
was one fact from the from the obituary there's one.
Speaker 5 (25:58):
Christina goes, oh, no, what happened?
Speaker 7 (26:01):
She's in a wreck erving Oh and rest in peace
to Harry Glenn.
Speaker 5 (26:10):
Yeah yeah yes.
Speaker 7 (26:11):
Number thirty nine, as voted on by our listeners. Skin
said something real weird. A table with working legs. It's
called a memo and it walks around. It knocks over
everything in its path.
Speaker 5 (26:27):
And fire.
Speaker 1 (26:30):
He said, path weird. Right, we all heard it. It
sounds crazy. It knocks over everything in its path. He
made path of four syllables off Hi.
Speaker 5 (26:47):
Plan time for one more?
Speaker 10 (26:48):
Okay?
Speaker 7 (26:49):
Number thirty eight. We were discussing some pickup lines.
Speaker 11 (26:53):
Number two.
Speaker 7 (26:54):
Ditch the pickup lines.
Speaker 1 (26:55):
Those things are money man. Yeah, and it's a good icebreaker, right,
what's a good one?
Speaker 10 (26:59):
He's the one's a pick up lines, not me.
Speaker 1 (27:01):
She just accused us of having pickup.
Speaker 5 (27:04):
You guys are always dropping pickup lines.
Speaker 10 (27:07):
Let's just make guys in general.
Speaker 5 (27:08):
When I Lex and Terry they never had pickup lines.
Speaker 7 (27:11):
No, you want to come over.
Speaker 5 (27:12):
I just made some beans.
Speaker 1 (27:19):
Correct at a good pickup line, But you left the
beans at your apartment to walk over there to the bar.
Speaker 7 (27:26):
And it's like, dude, I totally.
Speaker 1 (27:28):
Want to be single again. And go use some of
these lines. Hey girl, want to come over?
Speaker 11 (27:33):
I just pick some beans.
Speaker 7 (27:36):
There you go a little bit later the show, we'll
pick it up the number thirty seven.
Speaker 1 (27:40):
There you have it, Christina, where you gonna take us?
Next to the cookie jar.
Speaker 6 (27:43):
We're gonna have a very Christina segment. I've got Zeppelin
news and Harry Potter news next on the Eagle.
Speaker 5 (27:48):
All right, if if you I heard the news.
Speaker 1 (27:50):
This is our next to last show ever on ninety
seven one the Eagle. It's been a great run. We've
been here since February of twenty twenty. The Ben and
Skin Show is moving to mornings on lone Star ninety
two five starting on Monday six am. Our show will
be on from six to nine. If you want to
reach out to us and share anything about what it's
been like listening to our show. If you've enjoyed it,
have it enjoyed it? Man, please reach out to us
(28:12):
on social media. We'd love to hear it. Love to
hear from you. If you want to send me an
email directly, you can. It's Ben at Benandskin dot com
b N A N D ski N.
Speaker 5 (28:23):
But right now it's time for this.
Speaker 6 (28:24):
I did it all cookie hooky, cooky and.
Speaker 11 (28:29):
You can take a cookie, stig it in my job.
Speaker 6 (28:32):
Stick it in my job.
Speaker 8 (28:33):
Stick it in my job.
Speaker 6 (28:35):
Might be the last time I get to use that intro.
So yesterday, real quick on this I mentioned green Day TV,
right they were teasing something with green Day TV. Well,
it did launch today at about eleven am, and it's
just going to be a twenty four to seven network
on their YouTube channel showing old concert footage videos, all
(28:56):
kinds of things, kind of like that INTV thing that
we had that ago.
Speaker 1 (29:00):
Yeah, yeah, awesome.
Speaker 5 (29:02):
But uh yeah, so I thought that was really really
cool light green Day.
Speaker 7 (29:05):
But just imagine if it was like one of your
top five bands doing Oh my god, old concerts.
Speaker 5 (29:10):
Oh my god.
Speaker 6 (29:12):
I hoole that note because I do have some Zeppelin
news in a second. First, I want to talk Harry
Potter because they're gearing up for their twenty fifth anniversary
twenty five years already, and to celebrate, they are bringing
all eight films back to the theater August twenty seventh
through September third. Now, there's a lot of theaters doing this,
(29:33):
but apparently Regal is the only one that's doing the
forty X showings now the forty X. Have you guys
seen a movie in forty X?
Speaker 1 (29:41):
If I have, I don't know it Is that what
I would have seen when I went and saw The
Odyssey or no.
Speaker 10 (29:46):
The well, the seats move and vibrate.
Speaker 1 (29:49):
That's what it is.
Speaker 5 (29:49):
Okay, No, I've seen it online.
Speaker 10 (29:51):
Okay, it is awesome.
Speaker 6 (29:52):
I went and saw Beetlejuice too randomly, and I don't
think I realized the movie did that or that theater
did that. But it's really really cool and to see
Harry Potter with that I think would be amazing.
Speaker 5 (30:04):
Glytherin comes up under the seats.
Speaker 6 (30:06):
It starts, yeah, starts shaking or kill it underneath your
It's like the seats are on a roller coaster, right basically? Yeah,
how do you let it know that?
Speaker 1 (30:13):
You got to go to the restroom or go get
some popcorn or something there?
Speaker 10 (30:16):
I mean, stop it.
Speaker 6 (30:17):
It's it's not like severe, you know, like it's not
going to make you sick or anything.
Speaker 7 (30:21):
There were some theaters who were doing special things for
the odysseys. I've just seen clips online and they're splashing water.
Speaker 5 (30:27):
On the people.
Speaker 10 (30:28):
Oh that's cool.
Speaker 5 (30:30):
Well, the movie is on a boat.
Speaker 6 (30:32):
I don't know if that's cool or not. Do they
warn you in like Sea World, like splash them?
Speaker 7 (30:36):
It looked aggressive, Yeah, but that might have been the
bit was for it to be extreme.
Speaker 6 (30:40):
Okay, Well, I don't think they're throwing anything at people
in these Harry Potter showings. But I also saw that
they're going to have them at Cosm as well. I
did see someone post this on Instagram. I didn't realize
it was for this anniversary thing, but really cool. So
August twenty seventh through was September third, was.
Speaker 7 (30:57):
In eight days.
Speaker 5 (30:59):
Yeah, that's crazy.
Speaker 7 (31:00):
That's a lot.
Speaker 6 (31:01):
And the tickets are priced at nine seventy five, which
is an ode to nine and three quarters. Wait, what's
super nerdy? That's the train stop nine and three quarter.
Speaker 7 (31:12):
Oh okay, that's what a lot of guys say. There
Wiener is and it's not.
Speaker 1 (31:18):
KT's had his heart broken many times when it was
false advertising.
Speaker 5 (31:22):
It's a pretty good segue into Zeppelin, though I.
Speaker 10 (31:24):
Don't think it is.
Speaker 6 (31:26):
Well, okay, so Zeppelin, we're going to talk Zeppe.
Speaker 10 (31:30):
Yeah, you're right.
Speaker 6 (31:31):
There is some footage online right now still up somehow
eighty minutes, so almost a whole hour and a half
of this rare led Zeppelin at footage back from nineteen seventy.
It's this festival in Bath, England, Bath Festival of Blues
and Progressive Music, and it's backstage stuff. It's them actually
performing some songs for the very first time, like a
(31:54):
whole lot of Love since I've been loving You, stuff
like that and again. So it was posted leave like
three years ago and then immediately taken down. So I
am shocked that it's still up because even back then
there's only thirty minutes or so posted.
Speaker 10 (32:09):
I don't know if I said that, but.
Speaker 6 (32:11):
This is a full eighty minute so you could just
sit there and watch it on your your television at home.
Speaker 7 (32:17):
Seventy would be Beatles have broken up. Led Zeppelin has
taken over as kind of the biggest band in the world. Right,
that's about the time, right, yes, like in the timeline
of them, because their.
Speaker 6 (32:30):
First album was in sixty nine, so this is OK.
This is right when they're kind of you know, getting
up there, getting popular.
Speaker 1 (32:37):
So they were the tailor Swift of their time.
Speaker 7 (32:40):
This is where the Rolling Stones probably were when the
Beatles broke up, right, it's probably.
Speaker 1 (32:46):
The Stone The Stones were a beber and they were
the Tailor Swift. Maybe they were the most commercially popular
commercial bak.
Speaker 6 (32:52):
Okay, okay, I was trying to see. I was like,
I don't know if they really switch the genres. They
do kind of from two to three. Yeah, so sure
you can say they're the Taylor Swift of the seventies.
Speaker 7 (33:03):
So well, one, two and three came out in sixty
nine and seventy. They put two out in nineteen sixty nine. Okay,
and dude, wow, that's crazy.
Speaker 1 (33:10):
You're talking about rock dominating the planet over pop. That's
a badass thing. Hell, you're the most popular band is rock.
It's nothing like pop.
Speaker 7 (33:18):
Bring rock back, you know, Yeah, yep, that's what we're doing.
You know, we have a trade just coming back to
the Eagle. We're going to ninety two to five playing Zeppelin.
Speaker 1 (33:26):
That's Dallas's best rock. Hell yeah, and forworth irvings and
irvings Jeff Coller. All right, there you have it. There's
Scristina's cookie Jar coming up next. We've got incredible audio
from the world of sports.
Speaker 5 (33:40):
That's next. Before we get there.
Speaker 1 (33:42):
Thank you, thank you, thank you to our friends at
the Chalk Tak Casino and Resort in Durant, Oklahoma. Again,
your next chance to win one million dollars is coming up.
And here's what you need to know. Two people have
already gone there and won one million dollars just by
playing with their Chalk Taw Rewards club card and being
there when they make the drawing. There's only three drawing
to them have happened. The last one is Saturday, August
(34:03):
twenty second. By the way, on August twenty second, you
can come for the million dollar grand prize that's gonna
happen at one am, but you can also stay for
the two hundred and fifty thousand dollars cash dry drawing
at two am. That's two huge drawings one epic night
plus fifty thousand dollars at three pm and ten thousand
dollars drawings every hour from four to midnight. More chances,
(34:26):
more excitement, more fun, more reasons to be there at
the Chalk Talk Casino on Resort in Durant, Oklahoma. Just
head up to seventy five, passed through Allen, passed through Sherman,
crossed that Oklahoma Texas border, and there you are at
the Chalk Talk Casino on Resort in Durant.
Speaker 7 (34:40):
It's The Benn Skin Show ninety seven to one the
Eagle for one more day. Tomorrow will be our last
show in ninety seven one to the Eagle. Monday morning,
we're going to lone Star ninety two to five.
Speaker 5 (34:50):
That's kzyps.
Speaker 7 (34:52):
Yes, we'll do our show live Monday morning six to
nine am. A new chapter and the Benn and Skin
Show era begins on Monday. Thank you for listening to us.
The iHeart app is where you can also stream anytime,
and the Benskin Show podcast will stay the same, right, still,
put the show up every day on there. Nothing will
change there. I've gotten that question a lot, so just
(35:12):
want to be clear. Got some funny audio, guys, I
think we should do it now.
Speaker 15 (35:17):
Now this around the sports kg tweets as.
Speaker 7 (35:22):
All the sports Christian Parker is doing.
Speaker 5 (35:28):
He's the Cowboys defensive coordinator.
Speaker 7 (35:30):
He's doing a press conference, right and Joseph Hoyt from
the Dallas Morning News is asking me a question, and this.
Speaker 5 (35:34):
Happened, Execute and maximize each call, Joe.
Speaker 4 (35:37):
Hoyt, Dallas Morning News.
Speaker 16 (35:39):
Kind of on that note, you have had a lot
of sex success with the guys in Philly, the young
guys obviously, Pastor Tann in Denver.
Speaker 7 (35:46):
Can happened to anyone who would never happened to me.
It would never happen to Ben. And I like Joe Hoyt.
He does a great job. We love Joe Hoyt. He's great,
you know, just just a tough one. Tapped to a
lot of people many times. Right, Uh, I couldn't find no.
I think I have one here.
Speaker 1 (36:06):
Thanks for the inside brother. We greatly appreciated and much
continued to sex to you, sir.
Speaker 5 (36:11):
Uh Now, I think that's at the point when you
turned into a big happened once happened, it happened. I
think at ESPN.
Speaker 1 (36:17):
Yeah, instead of saying much continued success, I said much
continued sex to you.
Speaker 7 (36:22):
And he just started doing it in interviews, just saying much
continued sex, just seeing if they caught on the thing.
You're right, Yeah, it is.
Speaker 1 (36:28):
It is success.
Speaker 14 (36:30):
Yeah it is.
Speaker 7 (36:31):
Yeah, will participate.
Speaker 5 (36:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (36:33):
Thinks I'm gonna save the funny, the real funny one
for last. This is Aaron Rodgers won on ESPN the
other day, he on the Pat McAfee show, and yeah,
this is this is their ramifications here. I think there's
reports that this has gone up the ESPN chain and
they're very unhappy and they're going to probably not cover
(36:54):
the Steelers as hard as they should. Really, he's probably
ruined any chance of ever having a TV job at ESPN,
if you ever wanted it, because he went in first
on Fauci and vaccine stuff whatever.
Speaker 5 (37:05):
I'm not going to play much of that, right.
Speaker 7 (37:07):
But then he did call out ESPN for not covering
the Mike Rabel Diana Russini thing a lot. Just look
Rabel as former teammates who were work at ESPN. Teddy Bruski,
Diana Russini worked at ESPN for many years. For whatever reason,
ESPN for a few days were like was not covering it,
and uh, you know, Rogers went full unhinged, I want
(37:29):
to be clear. Two weeks ago he posted pictures with
his family. Does the whole interview about Yeah, I mean,
it's a better chapter in my life. I found peace,
you know, and uh, and a lot of it because
I got married to his wife that no one's ever seen,
you know, and all this stuff.
Speaker 5 (37:43):
So, oh, it's finally found piece. He's finally got it.
Speaker 7 (37:45):
All those trips down in the Ayahuasca hole, He's finally
found piece. No, no, no, his serial killer eyes activated.
He sat down at the desk with McAfee and he
started going off, what.
Speaker 16 (37:54):
Are we doing and how much time did the network
spend of that? How much time did they spend on
my responses every week on my vaccination status at Taylor,
at Travis It's wedding?
Speaker 11 (38:05):
Did they do even a minute on Tony Fauci?
Speaker 7 (38:08):
I don't think I've heard it.
Speaker 16 (38:09):
I bet they didn't. Another scandal is offseason? Too involved
in a voter for MVP for Coach of the Year.
How much time do you did your network spend? What's
did your network spend.
Speaker 7 (38:19):
On that network? He's like, e's man, come on, yeah, seriously,
what was he talking about there? The Russinian vrabel? Oh,
I'm not spending time on it now he gets a
dumb take, kim taking How much did y'all spend time
on Tony Fauci?
Speaker 1 (38:32):
Why would they do that? Yeah, but he's got an
extra grind obviously.
Speaker 7 (38:36):
Yeah, and he's mad because he got caught line too,
like and when he was suspended the year of the
COVID thing like whatever it was, whatever you think, the
NFL had a protocol and he violated it. So he
was suspended for a game, and he's been but hurt
about it. So he goes on and does that thing,
and he starts to attacking the network. So the network
executives are like, dude, let's ease up on Steelers coverage
(38:58):
this year. The Steelers are fascinating McCarthy and Aaron Rodgers
getting back together. Now, granted I'm a Packers fan, so like,
which of.
Speaker 1 (39:07):
Those two guys do you like more?
Speaker 5 (39:09):
Aaron Rodgers?
Speaker 1 (39:10):
Really?
Speaker 7 (39:11):
I mean, he's the best player I've ever seen.
Speaker 1 (39:13):
But you are you able to do you like him
as a human too? As a pros used to, he
just got he got weird. You read the internet too much. Yeah,
it could happen to anybody. I guess you know.
Speaker 7 (39:25):
He's pen also is covered up like the Kyle Shanahan
schefter covered up the Kyle Shanahan car writ do.
Speaker 5 (39:30):
We still not know anything? As he's still not.
Speaker 7 (39:32):
Uh so, Kyle Shannon is the coach of the forty
nine ers. He crossed over the lane and hit like
he hit a sixteen year old girl who was driving,
you know, driving. The police report time the cops had
it was like, oh, the sixteen year old girls at fault.
But then like the newspapers that were covering this were like,
once they saw footage, video, footers, whatever they found, they
(39:53):
had determined and he Kyle Shannon finally admitted, Yeah, it
was my fault.
Speaker 1 (39:57):
Wow. Is he shefting again or now he's the head coach?
Is he active or is he still missing?
Speaker 7 (40:02):
He's been No, he's been on the field and stuff.
I think he's like he broke a rib and stuff.
Is the girl okay, yeah, she's fine. Bike He was
looking at his phone. I think it got caught in
between the scene. But Adam Schefter knew about it and
didn't report it and then finally comes out and tries
to report it after someone else did because it got
reported that he knew, so withholding information like, it's very crazy.
(40:23):
I have a really funny audio clip, but I think
I'm gonna save it for a special Friday show.
Speaker 5 (40:26):
Okay because okay, it's from the QVC all razy. Coming
up next? Have you guys been doing Ace hardware lately?
Speaker 1 (40:32):
Let's discuss next in trending and Ben World Famous Ben
and Skin Show. This is our next to last show
on the Eagle. We're moving to mornings on Lone Star
ninety two to five starting on Monday, and we'll hope
you'll come with us. If you like listening to us,
viee the iHeart app if you listen to a podcast,
continue to do that. We're very, very excited about this
opportunity to go set up shop in the house that
(40:54):
Bow and Jim built. What an absolute honor. So looking
forward to starting that on Monday morning at six am.
But right now, it's time for this.
Speaker 15 (41:01):
He's interrational, quick triggered nuclear overreactor.
Speaker 1 (41:06):
He's a masterful storyteller.
Speaker 15 (41:08):
Who consistently finds himself drowning in a sea of awkward.
Speaker 1 (41:13):
It's time for no trund ain't bad, thank you. I'm
not going to talk about ACE hardware, but playing that
drop earlier made me think of that, and what a
terrible play. I just intercepted the ball from you. You
were about to have something glorious happen. No, that's great,
it happens. But there is something about going to a
hardware store. You go into a hardware store, you can
(41:33):
get a key made. There's a bunch of old people
working there that are like kind of not have great
customer service skills, but they have an insane amount of
knowledge and in a sarily way, they'll take it exactly
what you need and you're in there going, man, how
are you even in business with these giant superstores? But
they are, They still are in business, and it's really
rare that you could go somewhere and get like a
(41:54):
fertilizer thing as well as like some badass indoor air conditioner,
so I know they just have or a grill.
Speaker 5 (42:02):
They know it's up.
Speaker 7 (42:03):
Also been big, big weekend for guys like you and
me who love office supply stores. Yeah, because it's back
to school weekend. It's a tax free situation going on.
We can get a lot of like cheap pins.
Speaker 1 (42:13):
Yes. By the way, speaking of somebody who has a
back to school sale going on, Gary Garfield's going to
join us from Snake's Plus coming up today at five
point fifteen.
Speaker 7 (42:21):
I do want to I saw this.
Speaker 1 (42:23):
Audio the other day on the internet, and I thought
we should play it on the show. We often do
national anthem fails. This one is from Martha Reeves. Now
it's the national anthem at the first ever women's pro
baseball league.
Speaker 7 (42:37):
And here's how that league got started. Women are playing
baseball now, yeah too, like overhanded.
Speaker 3 (42:42):
Yeah, ah see you see bye.
Speaker 1 (42:50):
Bye so Broun.
Speaker 4 (42:57):
Why Blas.
Speaker 1 (43:00):
Those are the sirens in the Odyssey that are trying
to woo you over to the Rocky R Rocky short
line and crash your ship.
Speaker 6 (43:10):
All the lady behind you at church.
Speaker 5 (43:17):
Man killing me.
Speaker 1 (43:19):
That's really bad. You're killing yeah, they're killing killing everyone.
Oh yeahs right here, all right, I've got another piece
of audio I want to play for you. Now, I
don't we're not going to tell you what this is.
I want you to It's a dramatic reading of something
(43:40):
like there's this, there's this. These accounts I find on
social media where it's dramatic readings of you know, there's
a lot of different dramatic readings of something you would
never anticipate would have a dramatic reading. So, once you
know what this is, I want to see you with
the first couple of people, five or ten people to
text in two one four seven, eight seven, one oh
five three. Once you know what this is, text it
(44:03):
in your guests two one four, seven, eight seven, one
oh five three, and the first five people to guess
it are gonna receive total righteousness on their on their grave,
and make sure you tell the general on their deathbed.
Tell the general what it is, and you'll you'll receive, Yeah,
you'll receive total consciousness on your deathbed.
Speaker 7 (44:22):
That guy does those little commercials with shack the second
you know what this is text in two one four seven,
eight seven one five three, Now start it.
Speaker 17 (44:29):
If it was up to me, you mother would stop
coming up to me with your hands out, looking up
to me like you want something free.
Speaker 1 (44:37):
When my last CD was out, you weren't bumping me.
Speaker 17 (44:40):
But now that I've got this little company, everybody wants
to come to me like it was some disease. But
you won't get a crumb from me because I'm from
the streets of Compton.
Speaker 10 (44:52):
I told them all.
Speaker 17 (44:53):
All them little gangsters who you think helped mold them all.
Now you want to run around talking about guns like
I ain't got none. Ah, what do you think I
sold them all? Because I stay well off. Now all
I get is hate mail all day saying dre fell off.
What Because I've been in the lab with a pen
and a pad trying to get the damn label off.
Speaker 4 (45:14):
I ain't having that.
Speaker 17 (45:16):
This is the millennium of aftermath. It ain't gonna be
nothing after that. So give me one more platinum plaque
and rap, you can have it back. So where's all
the mad rappers at? It's like a jungle in this habitat.
But all you savage cats know that I was strapped
with cats when you were cuddling a cabbage patch.
Speaker 5 (45:36):
Oh good, all right, that was awesome.
Speaker 7 (45:40):
On I watch like pop Culture Jeopardy on Netflix a
lot colin, just the host and the old guy who
does the Jeopardy voice. So you know that they've heard
this is old guy's name is Johnny Gilbert and they
have a lot of categories where he reads rap lyrics.
Speaker 1 (45:55):
Yeah, it's so good, so good.
Speaker 7 (45:57):
All right, there you have. But hopefully you're one of
the winners of that.
Speaker 1 (46:00):
But we'll have to go through and read the text
message to see who the top fifty people where you'll
all win. Coming up next, let's play the Today game
right here on the Before we get there, I want
to say thank you to Frankel and Frankel, Mark Frankel,
Scott Franklin, Jean Burkett, grateful for their partnership coming with
us over to lone Star ninety two to five. And
we've been friends with these guys for so many years
and they just happen to be phenomenal lawyers, but they're
(46:22):
even better human beings. If you're involved in a wreck,
you need the Frankeles. You need somebody to look out
for you. The insurance companies are gonna come after you.
They're gonna look if you receive If you take money
from these insurance companies or somebody in a wreck before
I mean before you even know what you're entitled to,
you can never get anything else.
Speaker 5 (46:40):
So it's just a trick. There's a lot of tricks.
Speaker 1 (46:42):
Make sure you have someone on your side who can
protect your interests. These are local guys standing by now.
It costs you nothing to call the Frankels. They only
get paid if they reach a settlement on your behalf.
And that's what they did for me. They fought the
other side so I didn't have to. Franklin Frankel set
up the MRIs X rays and physical therapy, and at
the end of it all, Franklin Frankel got me a
nice cash settlement. So if you've been in a wreck,
call the Frankeles. Two one four three three three thirty
(47:04):
three thirty three fire nk e L. Call Frankel first.
Speaker 7 (47:10):
Look, we all make mistakes.
Speaker 1 (47:12):
Apparently Corporate believes that I made a mistake yesterday and
they're forcing me to apologize. And I don't want to
get too deep into it because I'm I'm honestly angry
about it. But coming up today at five point fifteen,
I have to eat a little crow and apologize to somebody,
and I'll do it live on the air. I do
want to say that this is our next to last
show ever on the Eagle. It's been an honor to
(47:33):
be on the air here. We showed up in feb
of twenty twenty and our show let indto the Russ
Martin Show Rest in Peace. We've been doing radio since
right around one or two. We've been on the Ticket,
the Fan, ESPN. You know, We've been on a lot
of different stations. We've been honored to be a part
of The Eagle and of course The Freak, which is
one of the coolest things we've ever been a part of,
(47:54):
and then back to the Eagle. And now we're leaving
the Eagle. So on Monday we will no longer be
on the Eagle. You'll be getting more rock in the
afternoon and our friends at Lone Star ninety two five
will now have a morning show because we'll be there
in the house that Bow and Jim built and an
Ao just an absolute honor to be in Morning Drive
(48:14):
and lone Star ninety two five and we've never been
on in the morning, so it's our first chance to
do it. We hope you'll join us starting Monday at
six am on lone Star ninety two five. But right
now it's time for this.
Speaker 4 (48:29):
Good time.
Speaker 7 (48:34):
A weird food problem in this country right now. Chipotle
has now removed halipinos because there's been a possible link
to the salmonella outbreak and this now I saw earlier
today on one of the news channels that we have
on in our TV's in the studio here was now
saying halipinos are connected to the cyclostpora outbreak as well,
(48:57):
which was let us basil. We'd seen frozen blueberries be
involved in that.
Speaker 1 (49:03):
Really, Yeah, what is happening? Is this unprecedented? If we
had this type of stuff before? Like, why are we
having all this?
Speaker 7 (49:10):
I'm sure we have, but it's never been as big
of an uncontrolled problem.
Speaker 1 (49:16):
Did we fire everyone who handles all that stuff? Is
that what happened? Yes, we're like, hey, listen, we yes, Okay,
there's three.
Speaker 7 (49:23):
In the country who are in charge of overseeing that
type of.
Speaker 1 (49:26):
So how many did there? Used to be hundreds?
Speaker 7 (49:29):
Yeah, so slashing is not good. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (49:33):
Cutbacks never are Yeah, cutbacks are never great.
Speaker 7 (49:35):
Right. No. And also, like it's the type of thing
so you you know, when you eat it, it might
not hit your system for like a week. So the
tracking and reporting of it, so that's that's where it
becomes a bit of a problem. Again. I'm I I've
avoided lettuce, like bag salad, lettuce, that type of thing,
but I had I bought a head of lettuce the
(49:57):
other day.
Speaker 5 (49:58):
I had a little I have a little burger with
the so let us as the bun.
Speaker 7 (50:01):
Oh.
Speaker 1 (50:01):
I love that move. Where were you?
Speaker 5 (50:03):
I was home?
Speaker 7 (50:04):
Oh you made it at home? Yeah, let's go.
Speaker 5 (50:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (50:08):
And that's you know, it's a standard type of you know,
I might do that once or twice a month.
Speaker 1 (50:11):
Man, I love that move. See, I I was off
bread for so long. I don't always miss it every once.
While you'd like some great sometimes you're just wasting carbs.
The bread's not even that good. Yeah. The other day
I went to Chick fil a and I got two
Chick fil A's with no bread, no pickles in just
the filet. And when the kid at the counter or
at the drive through window gave it to me while
(50:33):
I was waiting for it, there's some awkward small talk.
He goes, can I ask you what your plan is?
Speaker 11 (50:39):
Oh?
Speaker 5 (50:40):
All right, like your life?
Speaker 1 (50:42):
I think, like, what what I'm gonna do with those
file ats?
Speaker 6 (50:46):
I'm gonna eat them, sir, a specific to the meal
that we're having.
Speaker 7 (50:50):
Yeah, why are you asking me my plate?
Speaker 1 (50:52):
It's not that weird of an order, is it.
Speaker 7 (50:54):
He started the tables because he's had a lot of
people asking what his plan is. He's about to go
off to college, he's working the summer job at Chick
fil A.
Speaker 1 (51:00):
Yeah, anyways, this is why I've agreed to never eat
a salad again, just because I'm I don't trust the lettuce.
Speaker 5 (51:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (51:10):
Well I saw that this was like the final nail
in the coffin for salad and go yeah.
Speaker 7 (51:15):
They're done, Yeah, they're done. So they think some of
this started, like there's a few places. Taylor Farms is
the company that had been Taco Bell got attached to it,
but they were getting some of their lettuce from Tailor
Farms makes sense. Any place that's getting the lettuce from
Taylor Farms. When you go out to eat or something,
you're not going, hey, so where do you get your lettuce?
Speaker 5 (51:39):
Dude?
Speaker 7 (51:39):
The waiter's going, I don't know, dude, that's a bad question.
That's not I'm serving tables like, I'm not in charge
of unpacking the truck to see where the lettuce comes from.
You're not gonna ask did you get from Taylor Farms?
The problem with this two people have died from this. Okay, Now,
if they're probably older people who probably couldn't control their
bowels anyways, I would imagine, right.
Speaker 6 (52:00):
I think it's the dehydration that's probably the biggest part
for them.
Speaker 7 (52:03):
But yeah, I just sometimes I just think about things
and I just go Wait, our food supply is something
we definitely take for granted.
Speaker 5 (52:11):
Don't we yea food supply?
Speaker 7 (52:13):
Yeah, And I feel like I enjoy my summer's better
when there's not an explosive diarrhea outbreak. Right, That's just
it feels like it's always around. I mean it hasn't
hit me yet, but like me and Christina had the
neuro virus. Yeah, we're yeah, all three of luss got it.
Speaker 1 (52:31):
Would you if I told you, listen, you're gonna have
explosive diarrhea for two weeks, but you're gonna lose fifteen pounds,
would you take it?
Speaker 17 (52:42):
No?
Speaker 1 (52:43):
I would really, I've taken a heartbeating. I'm like taking
from take two weeks though you got to go to work.
Speaker 7 (52:48):
You can't just take off work there.
Speaker 5 (52:50):
Yeah, but I'm just like sit on a bucket.
Speaker 1 (52:52):
I would have Mike and Engineering put in a toilet
chair for me so I could just sit here. Mike,
I could just sit here on a toilet, and I would,
you know, have a tasteful apron.
Speaker 7 (53:01):
Over my lower house so you guys can see what's happening.
But I would just.
Speaker 1 (53:05):
Sit here because look, when you're hanging out with a
toddler and he's rocking a diaper, you never go, hey, man,
go do that somewhere else and come back and talk
to me. You'll sit there and talk to them throughout it,
although most of the time they want to go find
like a plant to stand next to because they feel
human shame for having to do it. I feel he
always feel guilty, Right, why not why not just sit
there and have a conversation.
Speaker 11 (53:23):
Like what's coming up next?
Speaker 10 (53:26):
Trump does it?
Speaker 8 (53:30):
Stee's day y, little baby corn red Ray take them
the rest of the day out coming up next in
a very important interview, one of our advertisers is pissed
and he comes on the air with us and apparently
we own apology.
Speaker 1 (53:43):
That's next before we get there. Thank you to our
friends at Parish Roofing Randy and his family, small family
owned business. Look. Storms hit all the time here in
Dallas Fort Worth, hail, high winds. It can display shingles
under roof and if that happens, man, you could lead.
It could lead to major financial repairs. If water's getting
into your home, it could lead to to you know, mold,
it could lead to wood rod It could lead to
major financial repairs.
Speaker 7 (54:04):
Don't don't go through that, man.
Speaker 1 (54:06):
Just have somebody you can trust up on your roof,
just to make sure that they're like saying, hey, you're
good to go. Don't trust these roofers going door to
door in your neighborhood. A lot of them aren't even
real companies. There's no licensing for roofers in the state
of Texas. Could literally be anybody, and if you let
them up on your roof. Of course they're gonna say
you need one, you need a whole new roof, and
then they're gonna go higher subcontractors because they're not a
(54:27):
real company. Reach out to Randy Parris. Let him be
your roofer. Let him be your roof guy. In fact,
call him right now. Two one four two two seven
eight four eight eight. That's two one four two two
seven eight four eight eight for the greatness of Parish Roofing.
Speaker 5 (54:42):
Then it's gonna show ninety seven to one the Eagle.
Speaker 7 (54:44):
We're moving a long start ninety two five Monday morning,
six to nine am. Set your alarms, we will too.
Right now, it's time for this.
Speaker 4 (54:51):
Are you excited?
Speaker 7 (54:53):
And no goods turning?
Speaker 1 (54:55):
For featuring veteran news anchor kt fun tweets.
Speaker 7 (55:01):
Yesterday at this same time, we did a couple of
stories on some snake bites, and we're having a guest
Don Ben. Because you said something on yesterday's show that
offended the guest. He reached out directly and said, hey,
let's let's clear the air here because he thought you
had crossed the line. So yesterday you had mentioned that
you know people that have rattlesnakes, as pets is not
(55:23):
a good thing, right.
Speaker 1 (55:24):
I mean, it's like to me, it's like, if you're
gonna own a rattlesnake, it's the meanest looking thing I've
ever seen. And if your rattlesnake kill somebody, shouldn't you
go to jail for murder? I'm like, a yeah, if
you're gonna have a rattlesnake and it gets free and anyway, anyways,
I just didn't understand why.
Speaker 5 (55:37):
Anyone would ever want to own a rattlesnake. Well, joining
us now in the Eagle Hotline.
Speaker 7 (55:41):
It is our friend advertising partner, Gary Garfield of Snakes
plus Gary Snakes.
Speaker 4 (55:47):
How you doing, I'm doing great, Katie? How are you?
Speaker 7 (55:50):
I'm good man. Thank you so much for joining us. Look,
I know what Ben said got you a little hot
under the collar. Would you like to expand?
Speaker 2 (55:59):
Yeah?
Speaker 15 (55:59):
I mean, like, first of all, from a purely commercial perspective,
I'm a big advertiser, you know, I just re upp
with Brad Javender for ninety two five and we have
a very limited amount of advertising that we do, right,
so it's it's obviously the Ben and Skin Show klt
Y with the snake candling John Clay Wolf is a
huge supporter of mine.
Speaker 4 (56:20):
And then of course NPR and all on it.
Speaker 5 (56:23):
And I'm sorry, I want to get into this. I
want to give you the full platform.
Speaker 1 (56:25):
But you do you do a lot of advertising with
Kalt why because of you sell snakes to snake handling,
Like from a religious standpoint.
Speaker 15 (56:33):
Yeah, yeah, absolutely, there's a lot of congregations in the
DFW area that need to have venomous snakes for their ceremonies,
and you know someone's got to supply that.
Speaker 4 (56:42):
It may as well be the best snake store in
the metroplex.
Speaker 1 (56:45):
All Right, sorry for interrupting. Sorry, go go ahead play.
And before I get to my apology, because you do
pay my salary in some ways, go ahead continue.
Speaker 15 (56:53):
Yeah, And the thing I want to bring up is, like,
it's not the rattlesnake's fault, it's the rattlesnake owner's fault.
Speaker 4 (56:59):
Right. Rattlesnakes by their.
Speaker 15 (57:01):
Very nature, are gentle creatures. They're they're loving, they're great
with kids. There's no reason to like lump them in
into this, you know, make them kind of a Boogeyman
type creature when when they're really just they're the best
little serpents that you're going to have kind gentle, great
with other snakes. You know, they make a great pet
(57:24):
and right now they're on sale.
Speaker 1 (57:26):
Well, you're having a rattlesnake sale because of these news
stories or just as the coincidence.
Speaker 15 (57:31):
No, no, this is you know, we've got a big
back to school sale happening right now, and so everyone's
getting snakes to bring in for their classrooms in the
next year. So Rattlesnakes are one of the snakes that
were Because of our high volume, we're typically able to
provide a great discount.
Speaker 7 (57:46):
On this is tax free weekend, right, Yeah exactly, Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 1 (57:51):
Okay, Gary Garfield, and I never know exactly how to
You're the regional sales director twenty seven locations for Snakes Plus,
but you also manage the Frisco store. Is that accurate?
Speaker 15 (58:02):
That's correct? I managed the Frisco store. I tried to
make as many appearances at the twenty four to seven
superstore and Wataga as I can. And of course I
am the regional director for the entire Metric Lifeyle twenty
seven location.
Speaker 1 (58:16):
Okay, So, shoot, is this superstore in Wataga is now
open twenty four to seven.
Speaker 4 (58:22):
Yes, Yeah. The superstore in Wataga is twenty four to seven.
Speaker 15 (58:25):
You can come by anytime if you're if it's four
in the morning on Saturday and you need to get
an inland Taipan.
Speaker 4 (58:32):
Where else are you going to go?
Speaker 11 (58:34):
Right?
Speaker 15 (58:34):
Where the where the one locations? It's going to meet
those needs, all right.
Speaker 3 (58:37):
One.
Speaker 1 (58:39):
I got in big trouble for this, and I appreciate
you taking this olive branch and jumping on the show.
I got in trouble because our advertising partners are lifeblood
and I had several different iHeart managers get very upset
with me, and I was told that I need to apologize.
So I do apologize from the bottom of my heart.
And I was told that I need to ask you
(58:59):
about like what is Snaky's and give you an opportunity
to advertise that.
Speaker 15 (59:04):
So it's a concept where we're trying to launch here.
It's going to be eighty eight gas pumps. It's going
to be a huge superstore. You can go in there.
It's probably about half the square footage of our Wataga
superstore and you know an individual Snaky's location and it'll
(59:25):
be eighty eight.
Speaker 4 (59:26):
Gas pumps, huge store.
Speaker 15 (59:28):
Everything you need from snakes to habitats to habitats for
the snake's food, and there'll be both a men's room
and a women's room, so there'll be two bathrooms that.
Speaker 4 (59:40):
People can use.
Speaker 7 (59:41):
I'm just look, I don't want to speak out of
turn here, and we're happy to let you promote that,
you know, because it's in the works. It does sound
a little bit similar to BUCkies, and I just don't
want you to get in trouble again because of that
lawsuit that you had recently.
Speaker 5 (59:54):
I don't know if you want to talk about that
or not.
Speaker 15 (59:56):
Yeah, that was, you know, we had a whole or
we were trying to sell otters in the Metroplex.
Speaker 4 (01:00:02):
It was called otter Zone, you know, getting the zone
otter Zone.
Speaker 15 (01:00:06):
And we were sued by AutoZone understandably I think, and
so that ended up having to shut down. However, this
is a very different concept than Bucky's. You know, it
is the only food that we serve. There are going
to be things that we serve, like in our Frisco location,
like you know, snake jerky, h pickled snake eggs, those
type of things. Nake nuggets, It's yes, snake nuggets, dehydrated
(01:00:30):
snake jerky of course, you know, but aren't.
Speaker 1 (01:00:32):
You aren't you like really pushing that it's the cleanest bathrooms.
Isn't that another big part of your marketing thing?
Speaker 4 (01:00:38):
That is an important part of the marketing.
Speaker 15 (01:00:40):
We're going to have one person who's cleaning each of
those things after everyone uses it.
Speaker 5 (01:00:44):
Wow?
Speaker 1 (01:00:45):
Is that a year notorious? And I'm sorry to bring
this up, but you've had a lot of run ends
with unpaid interns. Is the person who's cleaning the urinals
after every use? Is that an intern?
Speaker 4 (01:00:57):
Yes?
Speaker 15 (01:00:57):
And we are hiring for that intern position. And so
if you know a person who's, you know, between their
junior and senior year of college, or maybe just dropped
out of middle school, we'd love to have them join
the team.
Speaker 5 (01:01:08):
Gary, thank you for the time today.
Speaker 7 (01:01:10):
Uh sorry about Ben, you know, Uh you know, I said,
I'm sorry.
Speaker 5 (01:01:14):
I said, I'm sorry. Look, I'm grateful for your advertising.
Speaker 1 (01:01:16):
We're going over to lone Star ninety two five you were,
you know, the Frankles are coming with us Reliant air Conditioning,
prosper Forward, Uh, Choctaw and Snakes plus and and and
a couple others. So thank thank you man.
Speaker 15 (01:01:28):
Yeah, of course I'll always support you guys. Just sometimes
you got to be a little careful and you have
a reaction that, uh is, you know, to a news
story that's not really aligned to how you feel, and
I'd like to, you know, give you the chance to
correct that.
Speaker 1 (01:01:43):
I won't comment on how I feel. I'll just say
management wants me to feel a certain way, and I'll
go along those lines. Gary, thank you, Thank you for
your partnership, and good luck to you in the snake
sales community.
Speaker 4 (01:01:54):
All right, thanks everyone.
Speaker 5 (01:01:55):
All right, there you goes Gary Garfield.
Speaker 7 (01:01:57):
We call him Gary Snakes because he's, you know, a
friend and also a business partner. Go check out all
the store snakes plus coming up next. The countdown continues,
counting down the top sixty nine moments of our time.
On ninety seven to one, the Eagle, next on ninety
seven to one, the eagle, next on ninety seven one.
Speaker 1 (01:02:16):
The bin and skin shot. If you had to go
to the rest of your life with one of these
two things, what would you rather do? Would you rather
have to wear a diaper the rest of your life
or wear an eye patch?
Speaker 5 (01:02:31):
Eye patch?
Speaker 6 (01:02:33):
Christina, think how like thickly padded is the diaper?
Speaker 10 (01:02:38):
What is it uncomfortable?
Speaker 1 (01:02:39):
Oh no, it's I think it's even more comfortable. You
get a diaper rash though, No, no, I'm saying rash
free diaper, state of the art medical technology diaper.
Speaker 5 (01:02:47):
It's easy to go to the bathroom. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:02:49):
Absolutely. All you have to do is lay down on
a giant changing table and hike your legs up. Huh,
and then someone will come along and change it. I
didn't want to sit in it all day, you know, well,
I mean.
Speaker 10 (01:02:59):
You don't have totally use it if you wear it.
Speaker 1 (01:03:01):
What do you mean why wouldn't you?
Speaker 10 (01:03:03):
That's like I don't want to wear an eye.
Speaker 5 (01:03:04):
Why would you have a TV? If you didn't watch
the TV.
Speaker 1 (01:03:08):
I think I could still see with the one eye
for a little bit. I mean, that's it, and it
looks cool. I mean there's always an element of intrigue
when somebody has an iPad. You're like, damn what? Yeah?
Speaker 5 (01:03:16):
An adventure is he if we're gonna ask what happened?
Speaker 12 (01:03:19):
Like?
Speaker 1 (01:03:19):
I just didn't want to wear a diaper, But right
now it's time for this. Is anyone heard the news
that we're moving to ninety two to five day?
Speaker 7 (01:03:35):
How about that lone star Monday morning, but not agree
to this this Monday.
Speaker 5 (01:03:41):
Next Monday. Okay, is this Monday or next Monday.
Speaker 7 (01:03:44):
It's Monday, after the weekend, six am is where it
will be. Podcasts will stay the same on The Benskin
Show feed. iHeartRadio. App is good for you to download
and free. Everyone go do that. I've been counting down
some of our best clips from our time to Eagle.
We got it in February. Maybe tomorrow to open the show,
maybe we'll talk a little bit about those first couple
(01:04:04):
of years that I heart with, what we went through,
what the world went through, because there is a little
bit to discuss there. Maybe we'll do it tomorrow on
the show, but I want to keep the countdown going.
The top sixty nine clips from the Benskin Shows Time
on ninety seven one the Eagle, as voted on by
our listeners.
Speaker 5 (01:04:21):
Number thirty seven Skin's condom joke.
Speaker 1 (01:04:25):
I think like there's just a whole generation of people,
or a couple generations of people that are like, oh
so that's my dad.
Speaker 5 (01:04:33):
Was there contraception back then?
Speaker 1 (01:04:35):
I mean, dude, it just didn't feel as good. Christina,
are you going to play music before the mAbs?
Speaker 10 (01:04:42):
Yeah? Game sit Yeah, yeah, I got a little bit.
I'm going to play.
Speaker 1 (01:04:45):
What are you thinking of playing the good Stuff?
Speaker 5 (01:04:49):
The good Stuff?
Speaker 10 (01:04:50):
Yeah? That wasn't good by me.
Speaker 6 (01:04:52):
I was like, don't bring up my name right after that.
Speaker 7 (01:04:56):
Pretty solid, pretty solid work by everyone there. What are
you thinking of playing the good Stuff?
Speaker 1 (01:05:03):
Stuff?
Speaker 5 (01:05:05):
Number thirty six?
Speaker 11 (01:05:08):
Me?
Speaker 5 (01:05:08):
So yeah, meat sniffing or ham sniffing, not what you thought.
Speaker 1 (01:05:15):
Why'd you get British?
Speaker 17 (01:05:16):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (01:05:17):
Thought it was a mouse, but it's sniff and half.
I don't know what that was. Yeah, I know what happened.
Speaker 7 (01:05:22):
Actually, what I was gonna say, y'all thought, and then
I said I changed it from y'all to you mid
word and it went, yeah, no, that was crazy.
Speaker 10 (01:05:30):
I thought of that the other day. Actually, not what
you thought.
Speaker 5 (01:05:35):
Not what you thought, crazy dude.
Speaker 7 (01:05:39):
When I went over there to London, like in June,
those people do talk crazy.
Speaker 5 (01:05:44):
It's insane. Did you see crazy British teeth.
Speaker 7 (01:05:47):
A little bit?
Speaker 1 (01:05:48):
Yeah?
Speaker 17 (01:05:49):
It.
Speaker 5 (01:05:49):
I wouldn't say it was more than yeah, but it was.
You know what.
Speaker 7 (01:05:53):
Definitely can talk to them, though you go to France,
you can't talk to anyone. Those people are the most
they are. They sniffed their own ass right more than anyone. Yes,
so hoity toity.
Speaker 1 (01:06:04):
Did people like that you were an American? Or were
you shunned because of it? Was it an advantage or no?
I think they enjoyed it. Yeah, I think they enjoyed it.
Speaker 7 (01:06:11):
But I also had like a Mexican wife with me
so that I didn't really I look like I'm a
little bit of anything. I could have been irish to them, right,
you know who knew? Yeah, not what your thought. They're like,
are you irish? And You're like, not what you thought.
I'm looking at my clock here and I feel like
we should take a break now. Okay, we'll pick it
(01:06:32):
up at number thirty five where there was a dead
body at Pooh Pooh point. Oh my god, we are
almost done at the Eagle. We have one segment and
one day left to go. Don't miss the big finish
next before we get there. Thanking to Frankel and Frankel,
Mark Frankel, Scott Frankel, and Jean Burquette. Those are the
three partners at Frankel and Frankel. So grateful for them.
They've been big partners to us for many, many years,
(01:06:52):
and dear friends of ours were grateful for them and
they'll be moving with us to lone Star ninety two
five on Monday. And so, look, I always say, support
our partners. It's the best way to support our show.
Speaker 1 (01:07:03):
You know, they believe in us, and they've had our backs,
and I don't even know where we'd be in this
business without them being on board with us. And they've
just become dear friends over the years. But I also
use them as my lawyers. I got into a bad wreck,
I called the Frankeles from the scene two one four, three, three,
three thirty three thirty three. The person I talked to
kind of held my hand through, Hey, get pictures of this,
here's what you need to talk to the state trooper about.
(01:07:24):
And man, pretty soon like the owner of the trucking
company that caused the wreck. He was there asking me questions,
filming me and stuff. And I was like, Oh, he's
really worried about me. Then I realized, oh, this isn't
his first rodeo. Look, if you're involved in a wreck,
you need somebody on your side who can protect your
interests and make sure you're okay. That's why you need
the Francles. They went tons of awards sometimes voted on
by their clients, sometimes voted on by their peers. Either way,
(01:07:47):
I think that speaks volume. So if you've been in
a wreck, reach out to the Frankeles two one four
three three three thirty three thirty three fire nk e
L call Frankel first.
Speaker 10 (01:07:58):
Ah.
Speaker 1 (01:07:58):
Yes, this is the world famous Ben Skin Show ninety
seven point one The Eagle Man. It's gonna be hard,
not saying that anymore, but tomorrow is our final show
on the Eagle, and it has been one hell of
a run. On Monday, we start on lone Star ninety
two five and our show will be a morning show
for the first time ever. We'll be on from six
to nine AM on lone Star ninety two five. And
(01:08:18):
you sweet Eagle listeners who have welcomed us into your
worlds over the past six and a half years, you'll
get more rock. So if you're one of those peoples
like less talk, more rock, you're gonna get it. They're
gonna play a lot more rock. And if you like
talk shows, well, we're gonna be on lone Star ninety
two five doing mornings. If you listen via the podcast,
no worries, just keep doing that. This segment is brought
to you by roller Town beer Works. That's a brewery
(01:08:40):
that Skin and I are invested in. That's been a
big part of our journey. Dirk is an investor, Travis Frederick,
Michael Young, Tory Hunter, Matt Kemp All five guys from
Dude Perfect, super Chef Bobby Flay. Almost it's almost too much.
Maybe super Chef Bobby Flay isn't involved. We have awesome,
awesome beer. The big German is our beard. It's an
ode to Dirk. You can get it in bars and
(01:09:01):
restaurants are out Dallas Fort Worth. It's got minimal hops
and a smooth finish. But the venue in Frisco on
Main Street down from Toyta Stadium is actually a music venue.
It's a great place to hang out. It's a great
place to watch football. Football season is here. That's where
you need to go to watch college, watch Pro, to
watch any football game that's on. And we also have
music acts. We have tribute bands a lot of times.
(01:09:23):
What is Tomorrow's a Billy Joel tribute? Right, yes, Billy Joel,
Billy Joel tribute tomorrow and then a Fleetwood Mac tribute
on Saturday night and Man just thank you to everybody
who's supporting us. It's another hard business and we're so
proud of it. So if you see us at the
grocery store, put us in your cart. If you see
us at the bar and you see our tap panels,
put us in your glass. And thanks to all the bars,
(01:09:43):
restaurant and stores that support Rollertown Beer Works in Frisco, Texas.
But right now it's time for this.
Speaker 7 (01:09:53):
Wait.
Speaker 5 (01:09:53):
But you see the size of it.
Speaker 7 (01:09:55):
We are at the halfway point of our countdown the
top sixty nine clips from the Beninskin shows.
Speaker 5 (01:09:59):
Time on nine seven won the Eagle.
Speaker 7 (01:10:01):
Got here in February twenty twenty, Monday morning going to
lone Star ninety two five beginning at six am.
Speaker 1 (01:10:07):
How many clips are left?
Speaker 7 (01:10:08):
We're at number thirty five, so you can bet your
ass Friday show is gonna be chock full of clips.
Oh let's go hell Yes, and other fun times and things.
Speaker 1 (01:10:17):
I have a feeling that you've done something with Green
Day because we talked about it.
Speaker 5 (01:10:21):
Say man, if you did, because didn't you do that?
Did we do that at the fan?
Speaker 7 (01:10:26):
Definitely did it at the fan in a world where
no one knew. I mean you and you and Skinn
had basically been this is very weird because I had
not quit yet, but you and Skinned put your two
weeks in so we're able to do it at the
fan and send the subliminal message to the listeners.
Speaker 1 (01:10:46):
Do you do you still have that?
Speaker 7 (01:10:47):
I still had to go to fan fest over the
weekend and talk to listeners.
Speaker 5 (01:10:50):
You still have questions. I would be surprised if I
had it.
Speaker 1 (01:10:55):
He sounded scarred by that.
Speaker 6 (01:10:56):
Then he said it so I talk to listeners. I'm
sure that was like what we're ben Skin going.
Speaker 7 (01:11:02):
What's happening The way it usually happens during radio is
you kind of find out during your shift or right
after your shift. Yea, in my case, you are fired
and has to leave the building and then they read
you back into three days.
Speaker 1 (01:11:13):
We threw a life preserver.
Speaker 5 (01:11:14):
Too, Yeah, yeah, I did.
Speaker 7 (01:11:15):
I jumped on pretty quick too. He gets cool, They
go back. Everyone did.
Speaker 10 (01:11:19):
Thanks.
Speaker 12 (01:11:20):
Uh.
Speaker 7 (01:11:20):
Number thirty five, we were doing a story about this.
There's a place called poo poop Point, which sounds you
can kind of seet in your head. It sounds like it's,
you know, up on a plateau, and uh, the news
story got out of control. A body has been found
at Poo Poop Point. Yeah, the body was found at
the Turtle Hit trailhead. I'm sorry round two am. It'd
(01:11:44):
really stink to die there. Yeah, that'd be a terrible thing.
Speaker 12 (01:11:47):
I know.
Speaker 7 (01:11:47):
I was straining to get this story on the air,
but like, I'm just glad you were able to get
to the bottom of it.
Speaker 1 (01:11:52):
Did the murderer clean up afterwards? Or do you just
leave it there?
Speaker 7 (01:11:55):
A lot of details of the story that we still
got to wipe away and find out.
Speaker 10 (01:11:58):
This should have been your number two story the day.
Speaker 1 (01:12:00):
By the way, this isn't the kind of thing you
just flush away.
Speaker 5 (01:12:04):
This is right, This will stay with you. Those detectives
are dealing with a lot of crap right now.
Speaker 7 (01:12:11):
Yeah, you know, and when you plunge into it and
look for like what else happened, you're kind of it
does make you go, is there some fart foul play?
Speaker 1 (01:12:19):
You can't allow it though, to clog up other cases?
Right Sard shows up and he's like, hey, get back
to work. You know, a guy can be a real
party You can be a real party pooper.
Speaker 3 (01:12:34):
Man.
Speaker 4 (01:12:34):
You're returned.
Speaker 1 (01:12:37):
Hey, is it by the ocean? I mean, is there
a chance it was a shark attack. Way, hey, man,
show some respect. Can you believe the nerve of that guy?
I mean he's a poo poo point a cliff over
overlooking the ocean. I didn't I don't know what a
shark and jump up on a man. Ben, I don't
know the area.
Speaker 5 (01:12:57):
Okay, I think we've let this story float long enough.
Speaker 1 (01:13:02):
I gotta take a dump.
Speaker 7 (01:13:08):
I gotta take a dump. It's not playing the game.
Speaker 1 (01:13:15):
And yeah again, I heard scouts listening very closely, and
it sounds like they're listening to a private conversation. Oh
I like that. Maybe that would have worked in morning Drive.
They go, that's the ticket. No, no, no, not the
other station. Yeah, the Golden ticket.
Speaker 4 (01:13:28):
Yea.
Speaker 5 (01:13:28):
I take a dump, give up, we're going I'm thirty four.
Speaker 7 (01:13:36):
There was a movie that was nominated for an Academy
Award last year.
Speaker 5 (01:13:40):
I always try to watch all.
Speaker 7 (01:13:41):
Ten nominees, and sometimes it's a brutal I watch hamn
It last year.
Speaker 1 (01:13:45):
Guys.
Speaker 5 (01:13:45):
It was tough.
Speaker 7 (01:13:46):
That kid can act, though. But there was a movie
called The Secret Agent. I gotta watch The Secret Agent,
and I just gotta watch that at a time when.
Speaker 1 (01:13:53):
I'm ready to read what is it?
Speaker 3 (01:13:56):
Uh?
Speaker 7 (01:13:56):
This guy is an agent, but he's not telling everyone
about all right, thank you, Kevin. There's a little movie talk. Yeah,
that's good. That is good broadcasting.
Speaker 10 (01:14:11):
Amazing, so good it was.
Speaker 7 (01:14:14):
When you don't know? Oh I knew is that it
was subtil I knew nothing about it? When I'm ready
to read what is it?
Speaker 12 (01:14:20):
Uh?
Speaker 7 (01:14:20):
This guy is an agent, but he's not telling everyone
about it. He's undercover.
Speaker 10 (01:14:29):
Amazing.
Speaker 7 (01:14:30):
Yeah, So number thirty three, we would like to welcome
in Ben's wife, Cat, because Ben was trying to get
a hold of her and for some reason she didn't answer.
Speaker 5 (01:14:42):
Number thirty three. My wife doesn't typically take my calls.
Speaker 1 (01:14:46):
It's a problem. Do you want me to call her?
Speaker 7 (01:14:49):
Yeah, let's see if you call her if she's busy, Man,
she's only got an hour or till you get home.
I did not take my call and take Skin's call
doesn't go away. There's likest. What's worse her not taking
(01:15:12):
your call or her taking Yeah, I think her taking
skins call is the worst things that ever happened to me.
Speaker 1 (01:15:16):
God, my wife's phone etiquette is just terrible. Like she's
not properly addicted to her phone, Like the rest of us, like,
I'll just be walking around the house. I'm like, oh God,
my wife's phone's just sitting here. It's been here for
an hour. She's not even looking at it. She's not
tethered to it. It's the weirdest thing ever.
Speaker 7 (01:15:33):
She's just great for her. It's great for her.
Speaker 1 (01:15:36):
But she'll just be sitting in a room for hours
with her nowhere near it.
Speaker 7 (01:15:40):
It's so funny that she picked up I believe it.
Let's do one more today, number thirty two. This happened
in twenty twenty one. This is labeled skin's ashes. Here's
what I would like to happen. They take my ashes
and they keep them.
Speaker 1 (01:15:56):
And then when my daughter and her husband, when she
he gets pregnant for the first time and they're going
to do a baby reveal, I would like them to
dye my ashes the color of the gender and then
put it in a series of heads that are my head,
and then shoot those heads in the air and her
husband can skeat shoot him, and he can blow my
(01:16:17):
head open, and when he blows it open, my ashes
revealed the colored gender of whatever their child is. That's
not going to bother you all to be reminded of
all the skeet shooting that got you in that spot.
It's a celebration, Ska, mister Wade, I the last lap.
Speaker 11 (01:16:38):
I'm so glad you were dead for this.
Speaker 13 (01:16:42):
We put it on YouTube, you idiot, because of how
much how precious love and your scat life.
Speaker 7 (01:16:52):
Think about as stupid in the air, exploding with my
mouth open. I want my mouth to be open, my.
Speaker 1 (01:16:59):
Lips to be.
Speaker 6 (01:17:06):
I do imagine his glass is still on too, his
dumb COVID hair.
Speaker 1 (01:17:13):
The dumbest Covid hair, the dumbest Covid hair. All right, man,
one more show to go. It's crazy tomorrow, the final
Ben and Skin Show on ninety seven point one The Eagle.
Maybe we list our airing of grievances, all the people
we've have grievances with since we've been here. Who knows
what's gonna happen. You're just gonna have to tune in
to find out. I'll never forget the time that KT
(01:17:35):
looked all of our listeners directly in their souls and
he said, thank.
Speaker 7 (01:17:39):
People who know how to code. Heink they can do
some stuff, yep. And they were glad for that wisdom.
Christina are you gonna stick around and play.
Speaker 10 (01:17:47):
Music till ten o'clock.
Speaker 1 (01:17:48):
Ben, All right, to everyone who's been a part of
this one, One more Ben and skin Show on the
Eagle to go.
Speaker 5 (01:17:54):
It's tomorrow. Be sure to lock in, everybody, have a
great night.
Speaker 11 (01:17:56):
Peace out here, you.
Speaker 1 (01:17:57):
Go on, you're all.
Speaker 4 (01:18:00):
I'm gonna get my sack back. Dude had enough fun
in games, oh,
