Speaker 1 (00:00):
Great summer.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
I heard with Epan with I show, you're gonna ruling it.
Gets with similar free, pursuing.

Speaker 3 (00:14):
It, hold out shaw shank through the sewer, kid, Now
what chilling at the eagle. Yeah, we're doing it. Three
o'clock on the dock. Got a habit for my house,
a goat status. How we're starting to get cratic shows
that enough multiplied like a rabbit dune end zone.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
Out break it up, beat the habit, I won.

Speaker 1 (00:34):
Hang out with her friend, locking it on the radio.

Speaker 2 (00:39):
My home on the boy's Kinnings, talking on the radio,
it's time to do this, fall.

Speaker 4 (00:50):
All it.

Speaker 1 (00:51):
We go KT.

Speaker 5 (00:53):
To the screen, up.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
All them on my radio.

Speaker 6 (00:58):
Ah, yes, hell oh and welcome everybody. This is the
world famous Ben and Skin show.

Speaker 2 (01:03):
On a day without KT, we should probably just get
that what no I got Wednesdays. Nah, I just you know,
uh tizzle free homper days. We're calling it this year. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:16):
Uh.

Speaker 6 (01:17):
Well he's deathly ill. Oh which one KT is no
longer with us. We'd let him go. While also he's
very very sick. He was bragging that he would get
that diarrhea parasite. He walked in the studio yesterday eating
a head of Lettuce. I've been Rogers, joined by Jeff
skin Wade and Christina k a little. We are very

(01:43):
excited about today's show. I was in the pre show
meeting and I couldn't believe it. You just heard, just
heard from Tom Cruise.

Speaker 2 (01:48):
There.

Speaker 6 (01:48):
That was a personalized message that he gave me directly
by pointing it somewhat in my direction and said something
like have a kick ass summer.

Speaker 2 (01:56):
I thought he'd delivered that message to TC. You may
the DZ for friend TC was there videoing with you. Yeah,
their connection was palpable y. It was magic.

Speaker 6 (02:07):
But Tom Cruise is in the news and some people
think he might ruin the World Cup, and so we'll
talk about that. At four fifteen, we got Christina's cookie jar.
Apparently everyone's coming after Phil Collins. Hey, dude, I will
not stand for this. I'll sit down for it. I
don't stand for it. Right, We've got the ten worst

(02:28):
TV shows of all time. But I want to get
things started here with a trailer I saw before the show.
This is not a movie that I knew was being made,
and over the course of the trailer, my whole perspective
on the actual story change.

Speaker 2 (02:42):
This is a true story. Now, right around nineteen seventy
five or nineteen seventy six, Sylvester Saloon was leaving living
paycheck to paycheck, very limited acting roles because he can't act. Yeah,
it's tough and he was having a hard time, just
having a hard time making it.

Speaker 6 (03:02):
And so I don't know when the him being in
a porn was out, but somebody told me this, and
I don't even know. Allegedly somebody told me. They said
one time, they asked me, have you ever seen the
Sylvester Saloon porn? I was like, why would I have
seen that? No, what are you talking about? He's like, well, okay,
so that's audio from I don't know if that's the

(03:25):
porn or that's like that is that's the porn.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
Okay, so that is from the porn that's like nineteen
seventy or seventy one somewhere in there, because our boy
Shackleford found it and watched it and he claims it
was seventy or seventy one. If I remember, guy told
me about this is one of my old bosses. Okay,
that guy used to prank you all the time, and
he told me and he is no longer with us,
but to his dying day, he held that this was

(03:49):
the truth.

Speaker 6 (03:50):
He said that he was in a porn and that
he goes, have you ever seen it? He's talking, he's
giving instruction, Like if let's say that a coach walked
into a gym and his players were there, and he
goes and he pulled out the basketballs and he was like, hey,
play with my balls, right, because these are ill play basketball.

Speaker 2 (04:07):
These balls are yeah. Yeah, and so there was so
you might hear sometimes go, that's why we do that. Yeah.
So anyways, my.

Speaker 6 (04:15):
Impression of Sebuster saloone, not my impersonation, but has always
been low. You know, I like Rocky and I like
some of those movies, but there's been thirty seven of
them made way too many. Yeah, and he's just brutal
like ninety nine percent of the time. But that movie
in particular is a really good film. It won Best Picture.

Speaker 1 (04:35):
Wow.

Speaker 6 (04:35):
And so the story behind it is that he wrote
the screenplay for himself because he couldn't get anyone to
put him in a screenplay. Yeah, And he wrote it
in three days Wow. And a movie company got on
board immediately, but they wanted everything about it but him
acting in it. Yeah, and so this movie is apparently
the story of that. It's called I Play Rocky. Here's
just a little bit of the trailer.

Speaker 2 (04:56):
And I'm Mike, this is what I live and breathed for.

Speaker 7 (05:01):
What And they gotta have faith in myself?

Speaker 1 (05:05):
You need to show up one who you are.

Speaker 5 (05:08):
I like this girl, Sylvester.

Speaker 1 (05:10):
Sylvester, that's right, his real name.

Speaker 7 (05:13):
It's got a nice ring to it, Sylvester Stallone. It's like,
Peter Parker.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
Are you delusion on?

Speaker 7 (05:19):
You don't get the looks to be a movie start?

Speaker 2 (05:21):
I get what this is now. Not to mention you
talk like you got rocks.

Speaker 1 (05:25):
In your mouth.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
Yeah, I know.

Speaker 1 (05:26):
I don't look like Einstein, but I got a brain.

Speaker 2 (05:29):
The only way we get to show people is we
have to write a script for myself.

Speaker 4 (05:32):
Yeah, so do that, write a script, give yourself the
best part.

Speaker 1 (05:39):
There's something big here.

Speaker 7 (05:42):
You wrote this in three and a half days.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
This is freaking good that someone like Chuck Bronson or
we could do Eastwood. God, guys, I play Rocky.

Speaker 7 (05:53):
Let's go all right.

Speaker 2 (05:56):
There.

Speaker 6 (05:56):
But I watched the trailer and I was like, all right,
I can't wait.

Speaker 2 (05:59):
To see it. I'm in dude, and not, and like,
it's an amazing story. Here's the other thing, do you
guys know you've at least recognized what the footage looks like.
What a steady cam is. A steady cam is when
a camera can flow and go places and it's a
smooth shot. Right. You know, back in the day a

(06:20):
guy's running with a camera, it's bumpy or whatever. So
a steady cam is a device that centers the camera.
You wear it as a harness. The cameraman's wearing a harness.
And it's a big thing in film, the steady cam.
It's it's patting it and everything. I'm pretty certain that
the very first ever steady cam shot was Rocky going
up those steps? Is that right? If it's not the

(06:41):
very first, it's one of the first couples. So it's like,
you know, we make fun of it because there's a
hundred of him and he sounds like a dumb guy.
But Rocky was a legendary movie for a lot of reasons.

Speaker 6 (06:51):
So apparently, and I learned this in the trailer that
you know, the studio was like they offered him, you know,
fifty grand, hundred grand, and he said, I won't do
it for a million. I won't do it for ten million,
I'm playing Rocky, or there's no movie.

Speaker 2 (07:05):
Let's go.

Speaker 6 (07:06):
And so they were like, all right, but here's the deal.
If the movie falls behind by a single day, you're out.

Speaker 1 (07:11):
Oh.

Speaker 6 (07:12):
So it was on him to make sure that everything
was on time. And when he's punching that hanging meat,
it was frozen and he broke his hand. Wow, And
he had to go ahead and finish the movie with
a broken hand or he would have lost the role.

Speaker 2 (07:23):
And so it's.

Speaker 6 (07:23):
Actually like, by the end of a trailer, I actually
liked Sylvester Stallone.

Speaker 2 (07:28):
Okay, I have a counter to all of this because
you're getting me excited and I'm going in, but I'm
changing what we're doing and things Skin is tracking. I've
got a counter to this bend. You've inspired me, and
we're gonna do it next. It's when fact becomes fiction
and we're doing it next on The Ben and Skin
Show ninety seven point one The Eagle.

Speaker 6 (07:45):
Before we get there, when to say thank you to
Frankel and Frankels Skin and I are just texting with
Jean Brikett earlier today, Hey, Gene, one of the partners.
There no he's not here now.

Speaker 2 (07:53):
Oh He've got that in the hall.

Speaker 4 (07:54):
No.

Speaker 6 (07:55):
But we love the Frankels and it's it's Mark Frankel,
Scott Frankel and Jean Burkett. Those are the three per
partners there. Very freaking good at what they do. They
handled my case. I got into a horrible wreck. Frankel's
handled everything and they'll do that for you too. It
costs you nothing to call the Frankeles. They only get
paid if they reach a settlement on your behalf, and
that's what they did for me. At the end of
it all, I never had to come out of pocket
for anything and the Frankels got me a nice cash settlement.

Speaker 2 (08:17):
Yeah. They have a great track record of this, thirty years,
three decades of helping people when they get hurt and
are at their worst moment. We like to say that
their advocates for injury victims because they are they're going
to fight for you, get you the money you deserve,
gets you the medical attention you need, and there's no
out of pocket expenses to you. That's why we say
call the Frankeles first, so you can get all the
benefit immediately and then the long term benefit second to none.

(08:40):
My friends call the Frankeles first two one, four, three, three, three,
thirty three thirty three or eight one seven and all
threes call the Frankeles first Franklin Frankel chosen by the
people and feared by the insurance companies.

Speaker 7 (08:53):
Fr E NK E L call Frankel first.

Speaker 2 (08:58):
Ben and Skin Show ninety seven points. It won the Eagle.
We got tickets to see Motley Crue. Were giving them
away every day this week. Be listening for your chance
to win. We'll reference something from the show. Send you
to the iHeart app where the talkback feature is. And
one person that gets the message right leaves it first,
they're gonna win the ticket. So be listening, Gotta be ready,
and you gotta have that iHeart app. What are the

(09:20):
ten worst TV shows of all time? Have you seen them?
We'll talk about it here in fifteen minutes.

Speaker 7 (09:24):
But first, Skin Track, another edition of things Skin is Traffic.
All right?

Speaker 2 (09:35):
You were just talking about the made for or I
just should just say that the narrative piece about Rocky,
about Sylvester Stallone, it's a movie about him getting that
movie made. Sometimes these things come out and we kind
of know the history because they're big pieces of pop culture.
But then they start taking creative license with it. And
I was wondering how much of this rocky stuff is true?

(09:57):
Same I was wondering the same like did he really
break hand? Maybe he did, or maybe he broke it
at the end of shooting, you know whatever. And I
just came across a similar thing and I wanted to
talk about it, but I got sidetracked by other stuff.
But do you guys know the story of the Leonard
Skinner plane crash? No? Okay, So Leonard Skinner one of
the biggest Southern rock bands of old time. They had

(10:21):
a fateful plane crash in nineteen seventy seven that killed
Ronnie van Zant, the lead singer, And in my mind,
I'd always heard the story. In my mind, it was
a small plane that crashed and everybody died. That's what
I thought.

Speaker 7 (10:35):
That's what I thought too.

Speaker 2 (10:36):
My wife will find stuff on TikTok and then go
did you know this and send it to me. Have
you ever heard the name Artemis Pile? No? No, it's
an incredible name. That was the drummer in Leonard Skinner.
The guy named Artemis Pile, Artemist sounds like the name
of a spaceship for sure. Yeah, the Artemis.

Speaker 7 (10:54):
Yes, it's going to take over Prometheus. It's Artimists.

Speaker 2 (10:57):
So he was a drummer and Leonard skinnered and he
was on that plane. Now he survived. And the thing
that my wife sent me was one of those little
Instagram stories where he swiped through five things. But in
the story, she goes, did you know this Artemis Pile?
The plane crashed. He had broken cartilage and was old

(11:17):
jacked up. He stumbled through the woods and a farmer
thought that he was an escaped convict and shot him.
And when he shot him that he could tell that
Artmy was like, no plane crash. He goes, what get
in the car boy, And so then they drove to
the plane crash. Artemis Pile, having been shot and been

(11:40):
in a plane crash, drove this farmer to where the
plane was and to where there were some survivors. Now
that's what was on Instagram, And I was like, God,
I never knew this story. This is insane. So I
went and I looked it up. And Artemis Pile did
survive the plane crash, along with fourteen of the people. Okay, okay,

(12:02):
one guy got his nose in the band got his
nose completely ripped off by part of the plane. Oh
there reason Ronnie van Zandt died as he refused to
put on a seat belt. And then one guy in
the band said, yeah, I saw Ronnie get ripped out
of the plane and then hit his head on a
tree and he died there. And then years later his
wife had to post his odd types and go, no,
that's not what happened. Like, So, what happens is is

(12:25):
with these things, all these stories start spiraling out of control.
What happened with Artemis Pile is he did go onto
the farm and the farmer shot above his head to
scare him. But then when he realized what it was,
they went and they saved the guys, and Artemis Pile
started telling people that a part of the shot gun
shot him, but it never did. Oh okay. So my

(12:45):
point is is there's these legendary stories. Oh and by
the way, this part is true. Aerosmith wanted to use
the plane and their band management talked him out of it.

Speaker 7 (12:56):
Okay, I do know that.

Speaker 2 (12:57):
Okay, Yeah, that really happened. Huh. All, So the plane
came out of Addison Addison Airport, Addison Airport, it was
on its last legs. And in this particular case, one
of the reasons Aerosmith's management wouldn't let them take the
plane is when they when they toured the plane, the
two pilots were drinking Jack Daniels in the cockpit, which

(13:18):
is perfect for Leonard Skinners.

Speaker 7 (13:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (13:20):
Right, So anyways, remember the great movie of course you
remember it, but once upon a time in Hollywood, the
Quentin Tarantino movie. Yeah, where so changes They change all
of it now, they exaggerate it and make it crazy.
But the point is is there's some really great true
stories that start getting changed over time, and then they

(13:41):
become something completely different. And suddenly the drummer of Leonard
Skinner got shot by a farmer after almost dying in
a plane crash. And by the way, I looked it
up last night, Artemis Pyle is still alive.

Speaker 7 (13:54):
Ben Wow, not still alive.

Speaker 6 (13:56):
That's what happens with storytelling in general, right for everybody,
And it does it does make me wonder, like, how
do we get some of these some of the tall
taller tales in the Bible.

Speaker 2 (14:09):
Yeah, you know what I mean.

Speaker 6 (14:10):
I'm like, uh, was water you know, somebody really live
in a whale?

Speaker 2 (14:15):
Like what? What? Really?

Speaker 6 (14:17):
Some people are like, no, it's a it's a beautiful
metaphor for somebody like, no, that happened exactly like it said.

Speaker 2 (14:22):
I'm like, I don't. I don't know. Man, it's difficult.
So is it the exact word of God or a metaphor?
I really need to know. My left and right brain
is arguing with itself. Just tell me what it is.
But no, you're right and it and it just expands
over time and gets crazier and crazier. And so I'm
gonna enjoy this rocky movie. I can't wait to watch it,
but a big part of me is gonna be.

Speaker 7 (14:43):
Like, you know, I don't think it really happened like that. Well,
and it's a movie too, it's a movie.

Speaker 2 (14:47):
So in the Queen movie, I tell my son this
when they're doing the scene where they come up with
another one bites the dust. Yeah, it's not how it happened. Yeah,
the bass player was hanging out with Chic when they
were recording Good Times, and then he lou back over
to the UK and said, check out this baseline.

Speaker 7 (15:02):
Yeah, you know, but whatever.

Speaker 2 (15:04):
The movie was great, was it not that was great.
That was great, all right?

Speaker 6 (15:07):
Coming up next to the entertainment headlines, the ten worst
TV shows of all time been in skin Show ninety
seven one The Eagle. At least for now, there's lots
of rumors out there, we are unable to comment on
any of it. As of right now. We still work
for iHeart. We're still on ninety seven one The Eagle.
I know we've been fired from every radio station there is.
Everyone says that, but I like all saying it. We

(15:28):
just can't comment on it right now. So whatever the
cookie jar is coming up at four o'clock, Why is
everybody coming after Phil Collins?

Speaker 2 (15:36):
What a gentleman making sure that everyone else is taking
care of first. No, he's doing the opposite. Yeah, he's
not doing a good job. He's like tapping out is
he's not taking care. He's worried about himself. That's why
he's singing, give me one more night's pallet's do it.
I'll take care of you tomorrow night. But right now
it's time for.

Speaker 7 (15:54):
This in.

Speaker 8 (16:01):
And this segment is brought to you by the Dallas
Boat Show, happening tomorrow actually sixteenth through the nineteenth at
Dallas market Hall. You can get more info by the
way at Dallasbotexpo dot com. Do you know that, guys?

Speaker 2 (16:13):
I did?

Speaker 7 (16:13):
Are you going to the boat show?

Speaker 8 (16:15):
I don't think so, but I mean, I don't have
any other plans this weekend.

Speaker 2 (16:19):
I was disappointed that it wasn't the Boats and Hose
show this year. I really wanted it to be.

Speaker 7 (16:23):
Maybe later this year.

Speaker 2 (16:24):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (16:25):
Yeah, So I have a list here of the ten
worst TV shows of all time, and I will say
some of these are super old, never even heard of them.

Speaker 7 (16:35):
But let's just start.

Speaker 2 (16:36):
Let's guess, Ben, of these ten shows, how many will
you have heard of? Ten?

Speaker 7 (16:41):
It's nice.

Speaker 2 (16:42):
I was gonna say six and a half was my
over under, and I was just gonna say I'd heard
of seven.

Speaker 8 (16:46):
Do you guys have any guesses, like what's the worst
TV show that you have watched?

Speaker 2 (16:49):
Alf Dog? That one where he was a stand up
comic was so coodn or you have a muppet involved
in dramatic storylines. The first one that comes to mind
for me, and I don't even know why is Joni
Loves Chauci. We did not need that, Spinda, But I
don't know.

Speaker 8 (17:08):
We'll see if it's on the list, okay, number ten.
I know at least one of you guys have seen
this the idol.

Speaker 2 (17:15):
I watched uh To maybe an episode and a half,
and it was so horrible despite all the gratuitous nudity
and borderline horn, I just couldn't get interested enough to
watch it anymore. Yeah, it was the Weekend's character was
so slimy and just mean spirited, and it was you know,
I lasted a little bit longer than would have because
of the gratuita sex so good, But that was the

(17:36):
only reason I stayed in bold. Yeah, it was like
and then I was like, did Johnny Depp watch this
with his daughter? But but the thing that was so
interesting about it was that there was an iHeart executive
that thought it was amazing.

Speaker 8 (17:50):
It does say too that there are so many behind
the scenes production problems going on that that kind of
affected it no idea.

Speaker 2 (17:57):
And that's Sam Levinson, right, the guy who did your four.
So that actually made me have a that show, being
as bad and gratuitous as it was, made me have
a bad impression of Sam Levinson, and I stopped watching
Euphoria And then I recently saw him on interview shows
and I thought he was great and I didn't even
know he was the son of Barry Levinson.

Speaker 7 (18:15):
He's a big time movie producer director guy.

Speaker 8 (18:18):
Anyways, Okay, on number nine, this is called cop Rock.

Speaker 7 (18:22):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (18:24):
Yeah, Here's the reason I know about it is because
David Letterman had a field day destroying this show. It
was a primetime show and it was just like Law
and Order, except cops broke out in song? Was it
on his never Nos on a different network ABC?

Speaker 7 (18:41):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (18:41):
Was it a comedy or a drama? It was a
musical drama, so it was like, like, I've got to
arrest this guy now, and it's a really pushing on
my soul. Yes, it was that.

Speaker 7 (18:51):
Oh god, I feel like we need to revisit that.
Is that a payoffs? Yeah, it's only eleven episodes. Oh
my god, it lasted.

Speaker 5 (18:58):
That.

Speaker 6 (18:58):
One one of my favorite things in media is how
Mike Siroy had to learn that whole monologue from Jaws
or maybe he just chows to.

Speaker 7 (19:05):
I think he just chose so he was born with
that knowledge.

Speaker 2 (19:08):
But we should do or someone else to do a
monologue that would be a good one from Copland, cop Rock.

Speaker 9 (19:14):
Cop Rock.

Speaker 8 (19:16):
Yes, And by the way, that's good Copland. Here's a
show from two thousand and seven, Viva Laughlin or La
so it's spelled Laughlin Viva Laughlin. I don't know that
one either, says Bob Lowry and Peter Bauker hadn't learned

(19:36):
their lesson than American audience. Okay, hold on some brit thing.
It's yeah, it looks like it's on BBC. So that
but that made number eight Viva Laughing from two thousand
and seven, number seven All's fair?

Speaker 2 (19:51):
Uh? Was that was that like a divorce show, like
a couple gets divorced? That was that was the one
with the business, the war, the roses.

Speaker 8 (20:01):
Kim Kardashian's in this. This is that legal drama that
just started last year?

Speaker 2 (20:07):
Is it about her ass? She wanted to get a
law degree to and couldn't, right. I wonder if she
was inspired by that show.

Speaker 8 (20:13):
This is an all female divorce law firm in La okay,
and so yeah, apparently it's I mean, it's still going
on and it's number seven on this list.

Speaker 2 (20:22):
Yeah, that reminds me that saying they pulled it out
of their ass. Yeah, you wouldn't be surprised she pulled
anything out of there. Literally, it makes sense she found
a thermis in there one day.

Speaker 8 (20:30):
And we'll end it on this one because this one
I'm not aware of either. It's just called Fred the
Show from twenty twelve. What a great name, Fred the
Show Bred Savage. No, but apparently it was a YouTube
thing that they attempted to make into an actual TV
show and only lasted twenty four episodes.

Speaker 2 (20:47):
I don't know that one. All right, I'm excited to
see what's on the back half of this list or
the front of this list.

Speaker 6 (20:52):
We'll do that. We'll keep it going. Don't go anywhere.
That happens next right here on the eagle. All right,
what is the deal with Phil Collins? I'm tired of
having to defend him. We'll get to the bottom of
this in fifteen minutes. But Christina now has the five
worst TV shows of all time.

Speaker 8 (21:07):
Yeah, the top five, starting with Queen for a Day.
This was in the fifties, nineteen fifty six to nineteen
sixty four, and it was actually radio to TV series,
kind of like a game show, is what it sounds,
because they would had they had female contestants go up
there share their emotional personal hardships. Oh, God, and then

(21:27):
there was an applause meter to who would be crowned
the winner.

Speaker 7 (21:31):
Akaa Queen for a Day.

Speaker 6 (21:33):
Wait, they had to go who so whoever you felt
the most sorry for?

Speaker 2 (21:37):
Basically, but you know it's interesting if I heard you right,
that show is on the air for eight seasons.

Speaker 7 (21:44):
Yeah, fifty six to sixty four. Queen for a Day.
They got how bad TV used to be?

Speaker 2 (21:49):
Dude, Wow, there's nothing else to do for eight seasons
you watched Queen for a Day.

Speaker 8 (21:55):
It was known for exploiting women by forcing them to
share personal treasurers.

Speaker 7 (21:59):
I mean I used to get chicks that way. It's like, oh,
if you would cry a little bit more, we would
have number four. The Jerry Springer Show.

Speaker 6 (22:09):
Come On Shows legendary, dude, Yeah, that shows legendary, and uh,
you know it was.

Speaker 2 (22:15):
I mean there was a lot of shows like that
that were popping up.

Speaker 6 (22:17):
At the time, but that one put on the crown
for being the trashiest of them all.

Speaker 2 (22:22):
You remember the Morton Downey Junior show, Dude, if you
saw five seconds of a clip from that, Morton Downey
Junior was a guy. He was He was like Chainsmoker.
He looked like he had lived a rugged life. His shoot,
his shirt was always rolled up, and it was one
of those all right, coming up next skinheads versus house moms,

(22:43):
you know. I mean it was just the most over
the top Ooh yeah, yeah remember him?

Speaker 6 (22:47):
Yeah, dude, he looks like he's smoking in a coffin
right now.

Speaker 2 (22:51):
I just I mean, it's just a different era that
was probably on in the late eighties early nineties, Christina,
But it was just like Jerry spring But Morton Downey Junior,
Oh man, what a character that. If you know who
Morton Downey Junior is, send Katie an email Kevin dot
Turner at iHeartMedia dot com.

Speaker 8 (23:10):
Terry Springer lasted from ninety one to twenty eighteen. God yeah,
anyone where you're cheering for the the DNA test to
be negative, right, that's a bad idea.

Speaker 6 (23:21):
But I've seen a documentary of that, all those shows
around that time. There's some documentary running the trash daytime
all that, and there was just a million of them.
Everybody was dipping their toe in it, trying it.

Speaker 2 (23:32):
Yeah, And uh, that was good for Oprah that she
was able to not be a part of that, Like
she's lumped in with those shows, but she had to.

Speaker 7 (23:43):
Just run a separate lane.

Speaker 6 (23:44):
Wasn't Ricky Lake trying to be in both lanes with
the Oprah lane but also in the Morton Downey Junior thing.

Speaker 2 (23:49):
And appeal to big old girls. Yeah, watched some big
girl Okay.

Speaker 8 (23:53):
Number three on this list is Caveman in two thousand
and seven, and this was based on the Geico commercials
Caveman they actually made up.

Speaker 2 (24:02):
Yes, I'd forgotten about that.

Speaker 7 (24:04):
Yeah, it's probably for the best, right. That is so bad? Man?
It was Nick Kroll.

Speaker 2 (24:11):
Oh wow, I.

Speaker 6 (24:12):
Mean, this is the whole thing with an SNL bit.
Sometimes it's good enough for sketch, it's bad if you
try to make it into a ninety minute movie.

Speaker 7 (24:19):
And then the next thing, you know, Mango is a movie. Awful.

Speaker 8 (24:23):
Uh. This next one, I believe is just a reality show.
It's called The Swan two thousand.

Speaker 7 (24:28):
And four about ugly gals.

Speaker 8 (24:30):
Basically they would get yeah, ugly ducklings is what they're called,
and then they would transform them, transform them.

Speaker 7 (24:37):
They made them do plastic surgery, all kinds of things.

Speaker 2 (24:40):
Oh god.

Speaker 8 (24:41):
And then the big reveal at the end they actually
are in these rooms with no mirrors, so they can't
even see themselves until the very end.

Speaker 7 (24:48):
I can't believe you support this show, Christine. I do not.
This is two thousand and four.

Speaker 8 (24:53):
And speaking of documentaries, there's one on the America's Next
Top Model.

Speaker 7 (24:58):
Oh man, that is bad.

Speaker 2 (25:00):
I used to watch that show with the wife the
Tyra Banks say, oh, yes, absolutely, I probably watched.

Speaker 7 (25:04):
The first three or four seasons of that show. She
might enjoy that.

Speaker 8 (25:08):
And actually I think it was like a behind the
scenes or the dirty truth, got it whatever? Does not
make Tyer look good at all. And the number one
worst TV show of all time.

Speaker 2 (25:17):
Let's Go Ben.

Speaker 8 (25:18):
It ran from nineteen sixty five to nineteen sixty six.

Speaker 7 (25:22):
Oh on your Run, No, my mother the car. Have
you heard of this? No, it looks like it's exactly
what it says. His mom is the car.

Speaker 8 (25:34):
There's a picture of this man with flowers on this car,
and it's a kind of.

Speaker 7 (25:40):
Yeah, trying to be like mister ed or something. Yeah
follows a. Jerry Van Dyke was in it.

Speaker 3 (25:46):
Oh.

Speaker 8 (25:46):
He was an attorney who discovers that his recently deceased
mother has been reincarnated as a cherry red Porter automobile.

Speaker 2 (25:56):
Number one worst show of all time for a year.

Speaker 6 (25:59):
All right there, it is the ten worst TV shows
of all time coming up next in the cookie jar.
Everybody is coming after Phil Collins and Christina's not having it.

Speaker 2 (26:07):
That's next on the Eagle.

Speaker 6 (26:08):
In about thirty minutes, Alec Baldwin continues his reign of terror.

Speaker 2 (26:12):
What has he done? Now? We'll let you know.

Speaker 6 (26:14):
Also, some people are excited about Tom Cruise and everything
he does, and those people are called me. Other people
are worried that he's about to ruin the World Cup.
We'll get into that in ten minutes. But right now
it's time for this.

Speaker 3 (26:28):
It's time to pop the top, break your hands in.

Speaker 7 (26:32):
It's grabbagery from Christina's cookie jar.

Speaker 8 (26:56):
We have the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame coming
up here in a few months in November, one of
the best ones ever. Phil Collins will be inducted up
and Oasis will be inducted as well.

Speaker 7 (27:06):
How about that?

Speaker 8 (27:06):
Now, apparently they have like a luncheon before the actual ceremony,
and so I saw an article that was like, it'll
be interesting to see how Noel Gallagher interacts with Phil Collins,
because he's taken shots at Phil multiple times.

Speaker 7 (27:19):
Why in the past. Well, what the first time was?

Speaker 8 (27:23):
All the way back in nineteen ninety four, he said
that Phil Collins was the Anti Christ of music.

Speaker 3 (27:28):
Hah.

Speaker 8 (27:30):
He said, we're gonna get rid of Phil Collins and Sting.
We got to get to the charts and stamp them out.
I want the severed head of Phil Collins in my
fridge by the end of this decade. If I haven't,
I'll be a failure again. Back in ninety four obviously
didn't happen.

Speaker 2 (27:44):
But he's also a young working class Manchester lad in
his early twenties.

Speaker 7 (27:50):
It's drunk and talking trash. Oh.

Speaker 8 (27:52):
Apparently someone asked him about this comment and he said, yeah,
I think I got scared by Collins at a Genesis
show in the eighties and I was completely out of it.
So he was on who knows what kind of drugs
and he probably saw the lighting screwed up. Phil actually
commented on this. He said, I bet it was during
the song Mama, do you know.

Speaker 2 (28:12):
That's yeah, that's a Genesis song.

Speaker 5 (28:14):
Ye.

Speaker 8 (28:14):
He said, I bet it was during that because the
light goes on my face real creepy, and it could
creep someone out there on the wrong stuff.

Speaker 7 (28:21):
So Phil just laughs it off like.

Speaker 2 (28:23):
Whichever man that's kind of like the video for I
Can Feel It in the Air Tonight has got that
his floating Phil Collins head.

Speaker 7 (28:29):
Yeah it's creepy. Yeah, Okay.

Speaker 8 (28:32):
Well, apparently Noel comes after him again a few years
later in ninety seven, and this is more like a
political thing, okay. Apparently he encouraged people to vote Labor
in the general election to stop him from moving back
to the UK from Switzerland.

Speaker 2 (28:47):
To stop Phil Collins. Yes, so I think what happened
if I have this right, A lot of those folks
used to move out of the UK because of taxes.
Oh but I don't know enough about their political system
over there, but you know, it's just like over here
you have hardline right people and then Livy Lets it's
just different because so much is hinged on their classes.

Speaker 8 (29:07):
So yeah, so he went after him then as well.
And now we have someone else different artists recently coming
after Phil Collins, and this is one Brandon Flowers. Oh no,
So he's got a whole solo album that's coming out
pretty soon. It's called The Rasher And this Friday he's
going to have a brand new single come out, and

(29:28):
so on Facebook to tease this new single. He said
back in October of eighty nine, Phil Collins took Another
Day in Paradise from the working Man and then he said,
I'll be returning it to its rightful owner. And that's
how he's teasing his new single again this Friday, called Paradise.

Speaker 2 (29:43):
Okay, Now, the song Another Day in Paradise is not
a song that I enjoy, you know it? Yeah, I
know it. I don't mind it. You know. The thing
with Phil Collins is he did a lot of just
like movie soundtrack ballads and like he's capable of doing
all kinds of stuff. What was the football? What he

(30:04):
did he did against all odds. Uh so, yeah, that's great. Yeah,
I don't know how. The early days of Genesis, but
originally he wasn't the lead singer is Peter Gabriel. And
then Peter Gabriel with solo and Phil Colin started singing
I believe to where you have the unique thing?

Speaker 4 (30:21):
Ben.

Speaker 2 (30:21):
I know this troubles you when the drummer is the singer.
It's unnecessary, like, just get another drummer, man, right, But God,
what an insanely talented music. And I totally get why
a young rock band at the time like Oasis would
think that Phil Colin sucks. But there's a lot of
stuff that when I was that age, and it was

(30:42):
big pop music by older white guys that I hated
at the time, And now that I'm an older white guy,
I'm my god, that was a heater. Do you relate?

Speaker 4 (30:49):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (30:50):
That? In the air?

Speaker 6 (30:50):
Is that what's called Indiana Tonight? I mean, that's one
of the greatest songs in the history of humanity.

Speaker 2 (30:54):
It's incredible in the mix and it's clearly the most
memorable drum fill of all time.

Speaker 7 (30:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (31:00):
Nothing trumps that. Yeah, all right, there you have it.
There's the cookie jar.

Speaker 6 (31:04):
Christina is not having people taking shots at Phil Collins.

Speaker 2 (31:07):
Good job they stan Christina.

Speaker 6 (31:09):
Coming up next, let's go around the sports. Is Tom
Cruse about to ruin the World Cup?

Speaker 2 (31:12):
Ben's got some Alec Baldwin information he's been dying to
tell Christina on the air. So we're gonna do that
in fifteen minutes, and they'll have actual audio to support it.
This segment right here is brought to you by our
friends Frankel and Frankel, Mark Scott and Gene over there.
Great dudes, Great partners. They've been doing this for over
three decades.

Speaker 7 (31:31):
What is this, you.

Speaker 2 (31:31):
Might ask, being advocates for injury victims, making sure they
get what they deserve, don't get taken advantage of by
the insurance companies. When you get hurt in a wreck,
it take takes your whole life and turns it upside down.
They fight for you. Call the Frankeles first two, one, four, three, three,
three thirty three thirty three. Let's do this now that
around the sports KT quints as all the sports. Yes, hey, Baddy,

(32:00):
it's make KT.

Speaker 7 (32:02):
Have you seen all the sports today? Uh?

Speaker 2 (32:06):
World Cup? Christina?

Speaker 7 (32:07):
Do you have any World Cups? I do? So we
have the World Cup.

Speaker 8 (32:11):
The final game is happening Sunday and we're having a
whole like closing ceremony for it.

Speaker 7 (32:18):
I didn't know they did this, but it makes sense.

Speaker 8 (32:20):
And Tom Cruise is said to be making a special appearance.

Speaker 7 (32:25):
Okay, what was his special appearance at? Was the Olympics.

Speaker 2 (32:28):
The Olympics, he's up on the stadium and he jumped
down on a cable. He's like yeah, he like, what
is that called? Uh grappling? Or yeah? It was just
like a giant wire and he zoomed in on the
wire from outer space. Okay, there's certain parts of that
that are cheesy. But how many actors could do that?
I mean, I don't think any of them. I think

(32:49):
they'd have a stuntman do it. I don't think they
can do it. I don't think George Burns could do it. No,
I don't think you could. I don't think many could.
In fact, there may be no actor that we even
would try it. Pachina, I don't think so.

Speaker 6 (33:01):
I don't think so. But you're watching something like that
and you're like, why why, Like, why is that happening?
Why is he in this?

Speaker 1 (33:08):
Like?

Speaker 6 (33:08):
But it's every every bit of entertainment is basically just
a marketing mechanism.

Speaker 2 (33:14):
That's all it is.

Speaker 6 (33:14):
Yeah, every bit of entertainment is just how can we
deliver this advertising. You may be that may be disguised,
you may not realize that, But that's the reason the
NFL is what it is. It's all about selling advertising,
getting eyeballs, and that's why you get advertisements in it.
And so the best level of marketing you can have
is putting yourself in the actual content. Now, that's going

(33:36):
to turn off the most cynical people. But the most
cynical people are never going to be on board with
very much anything anyways. They're always going to be cynical
about everything, right, And so I think he does stuff
like that and it's corny, but it's like, all right,
the most cynical people are going to hate this, but
I think the majority of people aren't gonna mind it.

Speaker 7 (33:55):
I think, yeah, I guess what he did it to
set up his movie. It's always just.

Speaker 2 (34:02):
Yeah, and he's got another one. Now, he's got agg
comes out, and yeah, he's got another movie. Now October's
probably what it is.

Speaker 7 (34:09):
That was the whole thing was like, is this necessary?

Speaker 2 (34:12):
I don't think so to me. To me, it's not.

Speaker 6 (34:14):
But at the same time, it's if it puts it
on people's radar, that's all they can do.

Speaker 2 (34:19):
You know. Movie theaters are absolutely dying. The movie business
is in huge trouble. They're doing anything they can to
get people to go to theaters, like what's the new
one that's coming out this weekend? Oh, the Odyssey and
I'm ax, so everyone yeah, they're like, hey.

Speaker 6 (34:32):
You need to go see this on the biggest screen
the most, Like we we booked tickets immediately me and
my son to go watch it go one of those
Saturday Oh dude, I'm envious. And it's like, you know,
anything you can do to get people back in the theaters.
And I've seen Tom Cruise be this guy that's out
there trying to support other films that I don't think
he even has a vested interest in.

Speaker 2 (34:51):
It's like all these big stars are trying to rally
as hard as they can or that whole industry could die,
you know, it's not doing great. I think he's a
gnnuinely optimistic, let's do something incredible type person. Yeah, Like
I do think that that's it's just so hard for me.
I think I would like him so much more if
it wouldn't for the church to scientology thing. Yeah, Like

(35:14):
that just really just puts me in a place where
I'm like, what are you? But I think in general,
he's got a lot of qualities that I really like
and admire, And he's been in a lot of movies
that I like and admire, and I think he's talented
and can do a lot of different things. But I've
i haven't been able to move past the scientology thing.

(35:34):
Just think about how many people go watch those terrible
Fast and Furious movies, right, I mean millions and millions
and millions of people are like, I can't wait for
Fast and Furious seventeen. Yeah, they can't wait, and you
they love action movies. And for whatever it's worth, Vin
Diesel and getting his ass up on top of a stadium, Noah,
you'd have to take out insurance policies on the foundation

(35:56):
because he has really bloated these days. He looks like
a giant inflatable. Vern Troyer, Yeah he does, you know,
he really does, and in fact Vern was still with us.

Speaker 6 (36:06):
But even me, being a Tom Cruise supporter, I don't
need that, Like I'm gonna go see a Tom Cruise
movie anyways. He doesn't need to insert himself into that.
But at the same time, unlike a lot of actors,
I think he is like literally invested in his movies
where that's his business, right he may so he participates
in it. So like anything he could do to market
his stuff is probably very helpful for him financially.

Speaker 2 (36:28):
And for all we know, he may have some vested
interest in MLS or some European team or because he's
in the booth, he's in that booth up there with
David Beckham all the time. Like the times I've seen
him in these matches, he's in there with those celebrities,
and they've had so many of these matches in La
you know, DiCaprio's been there. And the best My favorite

(36:50):
moment of the World Cup that didn't happen on the
field was when they flashed up there and ed Norton
and Brad pittword together. Yeah double Tyler.

Speaker 7 (36:56):
Darton right like that was bad as radiohead shirt?

Speaker 2 (36:59):
Why Norton talking to himself that meme? Oh man, wait god,
I'm gonna watch Fight Club right now. Ye, all right,
there you have it.

Speaker 6 (37:08):
We'll find out if Tom Cruise ruins the World Cup
coming up next. Alec Baldwin has been ruining a lot
of things and he might have ruined something else. We'll
discuss next. We cannot legally address any of the rumors
that are out there. We're taking it one show at
a time right now. We appreciate out all the love
and support everyone reaching out to us.

Speaker 2 (37:26):
Thank you.

Speaker 6 (37:27):
It's a very difficult time for us, but we're just
gonna keep on keeping on. We'll cuss the Cowboys coming
up at five o'clock. Are these two the best Dallas
Cowboys players? We'll do that at five, but right now
it's time for this.

Speaker 4 (37:39):
He's interrational, quick trigger, nuclear overreactor. He's a masterful storyteller
who consistently finds himself drowning in a sea of awkward.

Speaker 2 (37:50):
It's time for no trundy in ben So.

Speaker 6 (37:55):
I'm a huge fan of The Hunt for Red October.
Great film. And you know, before I got to know
who Alec Baldwin is as a person, I really used
to like Alec Baldwin. He was a great actor and
back back when he was doing that show was it
thirty Rock God, he was so good in that. He'd
be on SNL and Tina Fey loved him and all

(38:15):
those things. But man, he killed a guy. I actually
killed the lady he actually did.

Speaker 2 (38:20):
Yeah, but I think it really got bad for him
when the voice messages that he left his daughter kind
of made made it. Yeah, that kind it's hard to go.

Speaker 7 (38:30):
It's like, wait, you talk to your child like that.

Speaker 2 (38:32):
Yeah, But having a teenage daughter and he kind of
brings you around, I know, but you don't have to
also become one. That's fair.

Speaker 6 (38:41):
Uh So, Alec Baldwin hasn't had a bunch of good
pr out there since maybe the Hunt for Red October.
And recently one of the actors who was in that
cast with him the Hunt for Red October, Sam Neil Uh,
he passed away and so Alec Baldwin went to the
Internet and hosted a heartfelt tribute to sam Neil. Now

(39:03):
I want you to listen very closely to how many
times he mentions Sam Neil.

Speaker 5 (39:08):
I just wanted to come on here quickly and say
how stricken I was to learn of the death of
Sam Neil.

Speaker 1 (39:17):
When I did to Hunt for Red October. We shot
in eighty nine.

Speaker 5 (39:20):
It came out of nineteen ninety, a long time ago,
and that was probably my first big movie in terms
of having a decent sized role. And I do Hunt
for Red October, and yes, John is a great director
and I'm one of the most exciting parts of what
was for me was.

Speaker 1 (39:34):
To meet Tom Clancy. But the cast I had to
write this down.

Speaker 5 (39:40):
I had to go to the Internet and write I mean,
obviously Sean, Larry Ferguson, Scott Glenn, Tim Curry, James old Jones,
Peter Firth, Richard Jordan, Joss Auckland, Court, Evance, Danny Davis,
Fred Thompson, Jeffrey Jones, Ron Gutman, Stealen, Sarsguard And that's just,

(40:01):
you know, the more recognizable names.

Speaker 1 (40:04):
There's a lot of other people in there who I
enjoyed working with.

Speaker 5 (40:06):
But my god, my god, what an experience it was
to do that movie with those people.

Speaker 1 (40:12):
Every time you turned round to do a scene, you're
with this great actor.

Speaker 5 (40:17):
I mean, people like like like Ron Gutman's a perfect example,
you know, But I can't even stop thinking to this day,
like he's smoking a cigarette. He's gonna do the work
for them, the Russians, and he's like, unmanukamuka, he says. Anyway,
I know if that sounds weird, but it's like, you know,
I told you to speak your mind.

Speaker 1 (40:36):
But my god, Jack James L.

Speaker 5 (40:39):
Jones, that you're Jordan in that scene in the conference room, everybody,
everybody Court advanced calling him, see man Beaumont. That's one
of the few movies I've ever done where I remember
the whole movie. That's what a fan I am of
that that work.

Speaker 1 (40:54):
Not me.

Speaker 5 (40:54):
I'm not a fan of my work, but I'm a
fan of their work anyway. Oh my god, Mike got
Sam Neil.

Speaker 2 (41:01):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (41:02):
I love to his family. I loved to his family yep.

Speaker 2 (41:07):
I mean if you had it out the whole middle part,
you could have just edited all that out and it
would have been fifteen seconds or ten seconds. Hey, guys,
Sam Neil conveniently died so I can talk about the
movie that I was in with all these people. It'd
be like me dying and skins on the air and
he goes. I started working on the mass broadcasting away
I want to I think follow well was their orderble God,

(41:30):
looking back, those teams were fun. They you know, they
won the championship at twenty eleven.

Speaker 7 (41:35):
Oh I'm surprised when they drafted Rod blah blah.

Speaker 2 (41:38):
Oh yeah, I've been Yeah, rest of the people, your family,
Thanks for dying so I can talk about the MAVs. Roder.
I mean, he's getting killed for this, and that's sure.
You realize the character that he was on thirty Rock.
He wasn't acting, I mean, just that guy. She talked
about himself and well, I mean he talk about Sam Neil,

(42:01):
But what about when he did that late night or
primetime TV special to talk about murdering that lady. Oh, oh,
you know what I'm saying, Like, wait, what I mean?
It's just everything about him. He is just a self important,
narcissistic ass. Doesn't mean he's not a great actor, doesn't
mean that he's not funny, and he's not clever, but

(42:21):
he is so self absorbed. Did you know he does
a TV show about yeah, really show with his wife. Yes, yeah,
and I'm and we were flipping around that came on.
I was like, wait, what who thought this was a
good idea? I just man been a bad run for
Alec Baldwin and it's not what He's still having the
best run of all the Baldwin brothers.

Speaker 7 (42:42):
Yes, oh my god, who's that?

Speaker 2 (42:44):
Which Baldwin brother is having a better run than Alex?
The one from the Usual Suspects is He's that's Steven?

Speaker 7 (42:52):
Right?

Speaker 2 (42:52):
I think so.

Speaker 6 (42:54):
Steven or Daniel or anyways does not ruin how good
that movie is. You should watch it later The Hunt
for Red October. Find out about the Crazy Ivan coming

Lamb and George Pickens ended up on their rankings? No? Okay, where?
Just without in context, where would you guess those two

(44:47):
guys might be. You don't have to do it like
a hard well, this guy's here, this guy's here, just like,
where do you think those two guys might rank? In
your mind?

Speaker 7 (44:54):
Where would you expect them to rank?

Speaker 6 (44:56):
I would think George Pickens would be right out side
the top three, so maybe in the four to six range.
I'm sorry, Cede Lamb yep, Cede Lamb would be right
in that four to six range. Yep, maybe four to seven,
and then George Pickens would be maybe in that seven
to twelve range.

Speaker 2 (45:14):
Okay, that's pretty good. I would have thought like you.
I thought, okay, Ceedee Lamb is a sure shot number
or top five, and then I would have thought there
was more distance between him and Pickens.

Speaker 7 (45:24):
But I don't know.

Speaker 2 (45:25):
So they had Cedd Lamb at six and Pickens at seven. Wow.
Now this list is comprised of executives. You know, it's
like they do a deep dive, right, and they get
all these rankings and they put them together. And so
earlier today on the House of Haymaker, which is a

(45:46):
sport show on our Haymaker Network. If you like when
we do our deep dives on sports, you're gonna want
to check out our YouTube content on the Haymaker Network.
But had our buddy Cavanaugh on and I pose this
question to him, would you rather have the number six
and seven receiver or the number one and thirteen receiver? Oh?
I think I'd rather have six and seven. Me too.

Speaker 6 (46:07):
I like the question though, Yeah, I mean, because look,
the reality is it's all about trying to create mismatches
out there. And a defense can can try and some
somewhat effectively take anybody out that they want to, but
then that creates, you know, mismatches elsewhere. If two guys
are both elite, but they're just closer to being the same,

(46:27):
if you take one away than the others just open
and having two of them this should open up everything.
Like I don't think Javonte Williams is some badass running back.
I just think that safety's had to be so concerned
with what was going on with those two killer receivers.

Speaker 2 (46:39):
That they had to leave the middle open a little bit. Yeah,
and that created some running lanes and so, man, they're
just that's interesting that, you know, and I do know
some people who prefer you know, they're like, look, CD
drops the ball a lot GP doesn't. And then you
can look at it and say, well, GP looks like
he sometimes takes plays off. CD doesn't. But they're there,

(47:00):
that's interesting that they have him six and seven.

Speaker 6 (47:02):
To me, CD is better, but I don't know by
how much. The part that makes him better for sure is.

Speaker 2 (47:08):
It's just that GPS sometimes it look like he floated
off into never never land. I think CED Lamb is
a more consistent player and so and also though you know,
ceedee Lamb missed time this year and you know, guys
miss time at CNFL whatever, but you know, he had
those stretches where he missed some games. I think the
only thing, the only thing that makes CD Lamb better

(47:29):
than Pickens is that he's more consistent because in terms
of high pointing the ball, speed, all those things, and
I don't know, I'm sure CD is a better route runner.
But in terms of all those things like just you know,
we like to go, all right, you build this guy
in a lab. Pickens is a better receiver. But for
the mental part of being more engaged and being more

(47:51):
consistent and doing your damn job ceed, Lamb is better
at that part of it. Otherwise, Pickens should be a
better receiver. But I think I think the one thing
that makes me think CD is not in the top three.
He has a lot of drops.

Speaker 7 (48:05):
Yeah he did this year, for sure.

Speaker 2 (48:06):
He dropped.

Speaker 7 (48:07):
He drops the ball at strange times.

Speaker 2 (48:09):
Yeah, you know, clunch, he had a clutch drop and
we spent a lot and that was was. That was
that week one or week two. I just remember it
was real early in the season that it could have
changed the game, and we spent weeks talking about, oh,
he's not gonna have another one of those. Yeah, he
actually had a couple more.

Speaker 6 (48:24):
And I don't have the drop numbers in front of me,
but I'd be curious about which one of them drops
the ball more. I would just my brain. I would
guarantee you that it is CD, but that could be wrong.

Speaker 2 (48:33):
I think you're right, And I also think that George
Pickens makes more ridiculous uncatchable catches. Yeah, doesn't mean CD
doesn't have those, but Pickens has somewhere. You're like, wait,
what come on?

Speaker 5 (48:46):
Right?

Speaker 2 (48:46):
And I don't you know, I was watching Haymaker. I
was actually I was listening to it because you can
listen to it as a podcast too, So I was
listening to it yesterday and I was listening to or
maybe it was the day before, but I was listening
to Kavanaugh just talk about the difference between those two
guys and how long you thinks George Pickens will be
here and he thinks it's just one year. So George
Pickens will be here this year and then he'll be gone.

Speaker 1 (49:05):
Yep.

Speaker 2 (49:06):
It'll be really interesting to see how they take advantage
of having him. That was on Star Time obviously, but
Start time.

Speaker 6 (49:13):
So yeah, if you have one year of having two
top six receivers, better take advantage of it, right, which is.

Speaker 2 (49:19):
Why it's a nice year for them to not have
a pass rush, right. You know, you just want to
line those things up. It's kind of like the whole deal.

Speaker 4 (49:27):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (49:28):
For the longest time, Tony Romo, when he had a
really good defense, he had no offensive line, and then
he finally got a great offensive line and had no defense.

Speaker 6 (49:35):
Right, And a lot of people think that because in
the past we've done full time sports talk, that that's
what all these rumors are about.

Speaker 2 (49:42):
That's we're not that's not it. Those are Those are
rumors about rumors. I like this playbook, I like what
we're doing, and we'll have to just see how all
this unfolds.

Speaker 6 (49:51):
Yeah, all right, coming up next, it's the weekly weekday update.
Are we about to get rid of daylight savings? Let's
kick it around, Let's protect the sunshine everybody. That's before
we get there. I want to say thank you to
Randy Parish Parish Roofing Solutions. Give them a call right now.
Two one four two two seven eight four eight eight.
I know Randy's a guy, small, family owned business. He'd
stick with us no matter what happens to us. Yeah,

(50:11):
he's a partner with us for a long time now.
Phenomenal guy, family owned business. Look, there's no licensing for
roofers in the state of Texas. Don't trust the guys
going around your neighborhood door to door. Some of them
aren't real companies and they'll just go try to hire subcontractors.
To do work if you let them up on your roof,
and of course I'm going to tell you need a
whole new roof if you let Randy up there and
you don't need a new roof, he's not going to

(50:32):
try to sell you one. He's just going to make
sure your roof is water tight. Give him a call.
Two one four two two seven eight four eight eight. Yes,
Randy Parish, the Parish family. When you call that number
two one four two two seven eight four eight eight,
we bet someone named Parish answers the phone. Truly a
family business that's been here in the Metroplex for a
long time.

Speaker 2 (50:51):
First of all, the company uh in itself has been
here for over a decade. Randy grew up here. He's
been here in the Metroplex a really long time. And
he worked in the roofing business but four Parish Roofing Solutions,
So he's been here in the Metroplex for a long time,
both just as a human living and as well as
being a business owner and taking care of you. And
he is absolutely the guy to turn to. He's always

(51:12):
gonna shoot straight with you. He's not gonna steer you wrong,
he's not gonna try to get you buy something you
don't need. He's gonna help you navigate the whole insanity
that is the insurance world. Help you hopefully lower out
of pocket obligations, help you with finance, help you with
your fence, help you with the windows. He can help
you with all of it, and you get the bent
and skin seal of approval. This is our dude. We

(51:33):
love Randy. He is the right kind of guy for you.
Don't let anybody else get up on your roof. Give
him a call two one four two two seven eight
four eight eight or check him out online. It parish
your roofing solutions?

Speaker 4 (51:44):
Are you excited?

Speaker 9 (51:46):
And gets turning for Wet Day Day featuring veteran news
anchor KT's on tweets.

Speaker 2 (51:57):
Me kt and I'm looking at all this, Christina, do
you have.

Speaker 7 (52:01):
Any of them? I think I have one? What do
you got?

Speaker 8 (52:06):
Apparently we could no longer be worrying about changing our clocks,
no longer springing forward or moving them back, because the
House actually passed a bill yesterday to make daylight saving
time permanent. So now it's going to the Senate, and
I believe that's the last step.

Speaker 2 (52:22):
And then did they originate in the House, and since
Trump is all on board, we know that usually it's
got to pass the House, the Senate, and then the
President signs it. So there's three branches.

Speaker 6 (52:32):
Finally President with the balls to save sunshine.

Speaker 2 (52:36):
The others have been anti sunshine for a long time.
I may have an unpopular opinion here.

Speaker 7 (52:44):
I don't want this.

Speaker 2 (52:45):
Why I get such a charge out of the change?
I love it? Okay, I could see that. Go ahead
and talk us through this, okay. I like when there's
something that you know, life is there's a routine, and
that routine is mundane for the most part, Like there
can be some fun thing, but there's things that every
day you're gonna go to this job and you're gonna

(53:06):
do this, and you're gonna try to get these things done,
and every month they're gonna do this, this and this.
But if there's something that's gonna always happen, but it
only happens a little bit, and it happens twice a year,
and it feels like a big change that's fun to me.
And so going from suddenly, what the sun's gonna be
out till eight thirty bad ass to or going back

(53:29):
the other way it's like, okay, now this is more
when I played golf art. The sun's gonna be coming
up way sooner, right, so crack it, dawn. I just
I like the shift.

Speaker 6 (53:40):
So you want to deprive the world of sunshine for
half the year to try to resolve your boring life.

Speaker 2 (53:45):
No, they need to get up earlier. If you get
up earlier, you get the sunshine.

Speaker 4 (53:51):
Now.

Speaker 8 (53:51):
Yes of golfers love getting up early, just in golf
versus you can stay out longer and play golf, yeah, anytime.

Speaker 2 (53:58):
I don't think we're making this decion for golfers. And
the reality is most people have to work on a weekday.
So if you have, if you're.

Speaker 6 (54:05):
Saying go enjoy the sunshine before work, that sucks. I'm
just saying, hey, get work over with and before you
have to go to bed, there's still some sunlight out
there to go enjoy yourself.

Speaker 2 (54:15):
I'm saying I like the change. I respect that. I
like having the change. I think it's fun.

Speaker 8 (54:20):
I would say the one positive is you usually get
to look forward to sleeping in an hour later, right,
like not really an hour, but it feels like an
hour later.

Speaker 7 (54:28):
That's one thing on the.

Speaker 2 (54:29):
Night that it happens or whatever. Yeah, and then yeah,
but also like you guys are used to having certain
things happen certain times of year and it being a
certain way outside, you're about to get accustomed to it
not being that.

Speaker 7 (54:40):
Way, right, and I don't like it. It may feel
weird to you.

Speaker 8 (54:45):
I like some or the sun being out longer, especially
like leaving here, it's the sun's already set by six o'clock.

Speaker 2 (54:52):
You're like, ah, I mean, it's depressing. It feels like
the day's over.

Speaker 6 (54:55):
And also you know, I know, Skin, you're not worried
about Christina's safety, but she's out walking those wolf dogs
of hers.

Speaker 2 (55:01):
I want her there to be sunline. I want her
to be safe, but it's better for her to get
up and do it early in the morning. That's what
the dogs want. Now you're gonna make the dogs wait
till the end of the day.

Speaker 7 (55:11):
And they're like, you know, I don't know, I could
he ease this earlier in the day.

Speaker 8 (55:15):
I believe we've talked about this before. Yep, we tried this.
Was it the early nineties, don't We actually tried this
and it didn't work out.

Speaker 2 (55:22):
I don't remember that if it happened but I was
just doing nothing but smoking weed. I don't remember a
single thing that happened in.

Speaker 8 (55:29):
The early Maybe I'm making that up, but I do know.
There's there's states right now that already have this permanent.

Speaker 2 (55:34):
Are like well, like Colorado and those mountains, Like Mountain
time is weird, right, I think Arizona is the same Arizona. Yeah,
they stay the same time and everybody adjusts to that. Yeah,
I think so.

Speaker 8 (55:44):
I think that'll be an option as well. If this
does pass, states can kind of do whatever they want.

Speaker 2 (55:49):
Nobody's happy in Eric. Wait, yeah, okay, that makes sense,
does it? I think I don't know, man, I'm just
sitting here thinking, do we really want Thanksgiving? Do we
want it to be the sun out at eight thirty
on Thanksgiving?

Speaker 7 (56:04):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (56:05):
You do?

Speaker 2 (56:06):
I mean I think I want more sunlight all the time.
I don't care if the sun is out while I'm sleeping.
I wanted to be out while I'm awake. Then you
need to move to Antartico. He's worried about golfing and Thanksgiving. Yeah,
trying to give his boring life a jolt. Those are fun.

Speaker 7 (56:25):
So you just don't want your family to be at
your home for that long.

Speaker 2 (56:28):
No, I'm just thinking about what I've always associated with
certain things and liking those memories and liking those things,
and they're going to be different now in your face.

Speaker 7 (56:40):
Maybe we'll see guys are ruining.

Speaker 6 (56:43):
I don't know, you know. You say that and I'm like, Okay.
There are times where I do look forward to the change.
The change is a nice little jolt. It's a re
energizing jolt. But I think I would give that up
just to have a little more sunlight the rest of
the time. But there may be times in the fall
where I've enjoyed it being dark outside earlier and I
won't realize until a minute, and I might be this sucks.

Speaker 2 (57:05):
It's way too bright outside. You're gonna go to dinner
on New Year's even the sun's gonna be out, and you're.

Speaker 8 (57:08):
Gonna be like, what, Yeah, But also when we have
our little ice ice corepade, what the.

Speaker 7 (57:14):
Sun will be out earlier and longer to melt it.

Speaker 2 (57:16):
Right, I'll think it'll be out longer. You're supposed to
be the scientist of the show. As soon as Sam
Neil died, she stopped following sons know we know why
