Speaker 1 (01:14):
You did it for yourself? That was great right out
the gate. How do we feel about tuna?
Speaker 6 (01:21):
What cut you mean like in the can or like
fresh tuna at a sushi place.
Speaker 4 (01:26):
Okay, that's a fair I was thinking tune in a can.
What you're talking about is magical no matter who you are. Yes, right,
what I'm talking about is tune in a can. No,
you guys are out. Yeah, I had it today from
a I'll just name the place I had it from,
Jersey Mike's okay, And you know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (01:45):
You liked it because you wouldn't slander them on the air.
Speaker 4 (01:47):
Delicious that I think you spread out your tuna fish intake.
Speaker 1 (01:52):
You know it is the chicken of the sea. Christina.
Speaker 4 (01:54):
Yeah, so I've heard if you spread out your tune
in take.
Speaker 1 (01:58):
I think it's a nice treat.
Speaker 4 (01:59):
Now, I don't know how much further I should go
with it with you guys, because you're already turning a
nose up to it.
Speaker 6 (02:06):
Well, because I know your breath's probably feels awful right now.
Speaker 4 (02:09):
And how is that different than any other day every
day I say hello to you and I immediately see
that look on your face. You're like, oh God, his
breath is terrible.
Speaker 6 (02:16):
Oh, I'm in a separate room, So I don't really know.
Speaker 1 (02:18):
I just assume you've never met my dad.
Speaker 4 (02:20):
Kati has met my dad, played golf with my dad,
had lunch with my dad when my dad loudly wondered
if the person at the next table was a man
or a woman. He's been in a lot of fun
scenarios with my ds. And by the way, a priest
was sitting at that table.
Speaker 2 (02:34):
It was crazy, wild scene.
Speaker 1 (02:36):
It was a wild scene.
Speaker 4 (02:38):
But anyways, my dad when I was a kid and
would come down and clearly had bad breath. He and
it just stays with you. These dumb things your dad says,
stay with you. He called me Mo's. Moe's, you have
the breath of a thousand buffaloes.
Speaker 1 (02:55):
That is so good.
Speaker 2 (02:56):
Isn't that good?
Speaker 6 (02:57):
Why buffalo?
Speaker 2 (02:58):
I don't know? And even just say it.
Speaker 1 (03:01):
He has a great delivery. My dad's funny as hell.
Speaker 2 (03:03):
Mo's you have the breath of a thousand buffaloes. Spectacular, spectacular.
Speaker 4 (03:08):
I was talking to my sister last week and I
reminded her of that, and she just started crying, laughing.
Speaker 1 (03:12):
Yeah, because you just have those flashbacks. Anyways.
Speaker 4 (03:15):
Uh, tuna provolone fresh tomatoes. It's delicious as is. That's
delicious as is. Now when you make tuna, that doesn't.
Speaker 6 (03:27):
Sound good all it's so bad.
Speaker 1 (03:30):
When you make tuna.
Speaker 4 (03:31):
Yeah, sweet relish, let's go Oh, let's go miracle whip
and sweet relish. That's honestly all you need to mix
now if you want even want.
Speaker 1 (03:40):
To look chi bit celery, jump up some celery and
eating and you can even do egg wipes in there.
Speaker 6 (03:46):
Nor what are you doing?
Speaker 2 (03:49):
My god?
Speaker 6 (03:50):
This is the worst auction.
Speaker 2 (03:52):
You guys have not had it in a while. No,
I've never had it ever.
Speaker 1 (03:56):
I want to bring it to you.
Speaker 2 (03:57):
This sounds so bad. Bye.
Speaker 4 (04:00):
Make if I made some of my homemade tuna fish salad,
would you guys try a little bit of it?
Speaker 1 (04:05):
If I I.
Speaker 6 (04:06):
Don't like anything like salad like that, like the chicken
salad stuff, tuna salad. I'm a potato salad. No, but
you don't like potato.
Speaker 1 (04:14):
You're not from the South. No, you like potato salad,
don't you.
Speaker 2 (04:18):
I don't love it, you guys, And I will only
have it if it's warm. I don't like cold like.
Speaker 1 (04:24):
Yeah, the cold, Okay, I don't mind it cold.
Speaker 4 (04:28):
I just I wait, prefer mustard potato salad to mayo
potato sad, of course, okay, just making sure.
Speaker 2 (04:34):
Yeah the potato is yellow like that? Yeah, Christina.
Speaker 4 (04:37):
How many people watch the final episode of Mash in
nineteen eighty three?
Speaker 6 (04:44):
How many people were alive? Then?
Speaker 1 (04:45):
Great question, That was a great question.
Speaker 6 (04:49):
I say, everyone who was an adult and could understand
MASH was watching it.
Speaker 4 (04:53):
Okay, that's a good answer, Katie. Would you use a
computer and just see what it says? It is probably
not right, but ask what the population of America in
nineteen eighty three?
Speaker 2 (05:01):
What was the population of America in nineteen eighty three?
Two hundred and thirty three, zero point eight million people.
Speaker 1 (05:13):
That's extraordinary. Are we up to seven hundred million?
Speaker 2 (05:15):
Now?
Speaker 1 (05:16):
Are we three hundred and fifty million?
Speaker 2 (05:17):
Is the population it was population America in twenty twenty five?
Thirty four? Oh, sorry, three hundred and forty one.
Speaker 6 (05:26):
Okay, we got way down.
Speaker 1 (05:29):
So yeah, we've lost two hundred million Americans. Oh, there
wasn't even a war. COVID was hard on everyone.
Speaker 4 (05:35):
So okay, so we're up to three forty So we're
gang about okay, one hundred and eight million people. Yeah,
that's a lot of bonus forty years. Yeah, all right,
so I went now that you know that there was
two hundred and thirty million Americans in nineteen eighty three.
According to KT, how many watched the Mash finale, I'd
say one hundred million.
Speaker 1 (05:52):
It was like one hundred and twenty three million.
Speaker 4 (05:54):
Oh, now that wasn't that much stuff on Well, no,
but that's the other thing. So I was watching, I
was slipping around in my My wife hates me and
I will always settle into those. On CNN, they do
these documentary series like the eighties and it's produced by
Tom Hanks.
Speaker 1 (06:09):
It's really well done. It's not political.
Speaker 4 (06:11):
I know it's on CNN, but it's just a snapshot
of the things that happened in the decades. Yeah, it's great,
it's not partisan. Anyways, I was. I stopped on the
one in the eighties last night they were talking about
Mash and there was an estimate that when JR got shot,
you guys know, the whole who shot JR? Thing? Do
you know the history the significance of this on the
(06:34):
TV show Dallas, like.
Speaker 1 (06:36):
It was fer for a whole summer.
Speaker 4 (06:38):
Right, yeah, And then there was an actor strike so
it went even longer and it was like the headline
of newspapers in London and all this, like it was global.
And I told you, guys, when my wife's Swedish in
law or you know, sister, half sister came over.
Speaker 1 (06:52):
All they wanted to do was go to South Fort. Well.
Speaker 4 (06:55):
It was a global phenomenon. And I can remember in
school as like a fourth grader or whatever. I was
third grader, the teacher talking about who do you all
think Sean Jr?
Speaker 1 (07:03):
Like it was this thing. It was fricking everywhere.
Speaker 4 (07:06):
But they were talking about when Dallas was at its peak,
it was estimated that nine out of ten Americans, Americans
would be watching CBS, ABC or NBC every night.
Speaker 1 (07:19):
Yeah, you know, this is pre cable.
Speaker 4 (07:21):
Some like New York had cable in probably California, but
late seventies you basically had three.
Speaker 1 (07:27):
There was no Fox hit. I mean we had four
channels growing up.
Speaker 4 (07:31):
Was one of them the PBS or was Yet you
grew up with Fox, so didn't you? Okay, so it
was Channel eighteen. Yeah, yeah, you had you had the
four majors. By the time you get to the nineties,
Fox is a thing and it's got The Simpsons and
the Tracy omen Show and then it gets NFL football
and bam it takes off, right, But just think about
the power of that, Like three channels had ninety percent
(07:55):
of the audience.
Speaker 2 (07:55):
You appreciate it more.
Speaker 1 (07:57):
I miss it. I truly miss it.
Speaker 4 (08:00):
It was a wonderful, glorious time, and we still didn't
get to the bottom of the tuna fish situation. It's
The Ben and Skin Show ninety seven point one. The
Eagle coming up next, further proof that Family Feud is
the greatest thing ever right here on The Ben and
Skin Show ninety.
Speaker 1 (08:17):
Some point won the Eagle. Guess what?
Speaker 4 (08:18):
We got Guns and roadses tickets All week long, we'll
be giving them away. They're coming to Globe Life September
the ninth, so you'll have a chance to win by
using that talkback feature on the iHeart app. Bon Jovi
did something for his fans, and it begs us to
ask the question, what do you expect when you go
to a concert? We'll get that answered in fifteen minutes.
Speaker 2 (08:39):
But first bookin track another edition of Things Sin is traffic?
Speaker 4 (08:48):
All right, friends, I was disappointed that I didn't get
to see the whole episode of the Flag family, Cooper
Flag and his twin brother Ace and the whole family
on Family Feud. As you guys know, Family Feud with
Steve Harvey is the greatest TV show of all time.
It's undefeated, and I missed it and I think Katu
(09:10):
text me is like are you watching this? And I
was like, crap, I'm not at home. But I did
go online and I saw the final feud?
Speaker 1 (09:17):
Is that what they call it? Are you fast money?
Speaker 4 (09:19):
Fast money? And it delivered to the hype. It was
like impush strike back. It was so amazing And we
can go about to certain ways, but I'll just hand
it over to Kat who has been digging through the
family Feud archives for hours.
Speaker 2 (09:35):
So Christina, you have not seen it.
Speaker 6 (09:36):
I haven't. No.
Speaker 2 (09:38):
Well, instead of like just playing the audio of Cooper
Flag standing next to Steve Harvey.
Speaker 1 (09:42):
I can put her on the clock.
Speaker 6 (09:47):
On a Monday.
Speaker 2 (09:48):
Yeah, Christina, gonna need you to think fast here because
these are basically the questions that Cooper Flagg was asked.
Speaker 4 (09:54):
Now we're gonna give her twenty five seconds, and she
can't do the repeats.
Speaker 1 (09:59):
Because there was two repeat.
Speaker 2 (10:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (10:00):
I've edited this in a way that I think will
make sense.
Speaker 2 (10:02):
Okay, so don't do it in twenty five seconds. It'll
sort of be twenty five seconds no matter what.
Speaker 1 (10:06):
You just got them.
Speaker 2 (10:08):
But you should know that Ace Flag, Cooper's brother, went
first Okay, Cooper's got the tough job of going second
because a lot of the number one rest answers off
the board.
Speaker 4 (10:17):
Yeah, but he got ace flag got like one hundred
and thirty two points or something.
Speaker 2 (10:21):
He drilled.
Speaker 1 (10:22):
He drilled it, so smash it, don't right?
Speaker 2 (10:26):
Okay, this is where we hand over the show to
Steve Harvey. All right, ready, Christina.
Speaker 5 (10:30):
Steve twenty five seconds on the clock. Please, when the
Stormtroopers want to prank Darth Vader, they hide his what
white saber? Back back?
Speaker 6 (10:42):
No? Oh, I didn't know we were doing this. Don't
do that. Can you make him stop?
Speaker 2 (10:47):
Stop? Please? Like she had never seen the feure.
Speaker 6 (10:51):
I don't know if I'm going first or second? Did clarify?
Speaker 1 (10:53):
Yeah, you're going second? He said that, esus start all over?
Son of a bit?
Speaker 6 (10:58):
Okay, helmet, calmet?
Speaker 2 (10:59):
Is this a.
Speaker 1 (11:01):
Hurry?
Speaker 2 (11:02):
She's got fifteen seconds.
Speaker 5 (11:03):
During a good week. I'll work out how many times.
Speaker 6 (11:06):
You work out how many times to name a.
Speaker 5 (11:09):
Wild animal you'd find living in cities?
Speaker 6 (11:12):
Raccoon?
Speaker 5 (11:12):
Name of breakfast cereal with flakes.
Speaker 6 (11:15):
Frosted fruit loops? What not fruit loops?
Speaker 1 (11:22):
She answered?
Speaker 2 (11:23):
Never asked a woman?
Speaker 5 (11:24):
What?
Speaker 2 (11:25):
Okay?
Speaker 6 (11:26):
What was it?
Speaker 1 (11:26):
Again.
Speaker 5 (11:27):
Gentleman never asked a woman what.
Speaker 6 (11:28):
Her weight age?
Speaker 4 (11:34):
She did, good dude, she would have gotten his sixty
nine points at the point.
Speaker 1 (11:38):
Yeah, raccoon was the number one answer.
Speaker 6 (11:39):
Was also thinking fruity pebbles. She was thinking Jimmy flakes.
She was thinking about Jimothy the raccoon. What an idiot.
Speaker 1 (11:47):
I love Jimothy.
Speaker 4 (11:49):
You would have won, Christina, Thank you. Yep, here's how
it really went down.
Speaker 5 (11:52):
When the Stormtroopers want to prank Darth Vader, they hide
his what lightsaber? Try again?
Speaker 2 (12:00):
Cloak?
Speaker 5 (12:00):
During a good week, I'll work out how many times?
Speaker 2 (12:04):
Four?
Speaker 5 (12:05):
Try again?
Speaker 2 (12:05):
Five?
Speaker 5 (12:06):
Name a wild animal you'd find living in cities mouse?
Name a breakfast cereal with flakes. A gentleman never asked
a woman, what.
Speaker 3 (12:17):
How old are you?
Speaker 5 (12:19):
A breakfast seal with flakes?
Speaker 2 (12:21):
Corn flakes?
Speaker 4 (12:25):
It was the number two answer. Yes, now there's the
number one answer. It was better than frosted. I think
I think one was frosted and two was corn.
Speaker 2 (12:31):
Yeah. Yeah, there's a lot of great things about this
because he basically shows you that a he's worked out,
he's working out a lot. Yeah, he's not eating sugar
for breakfast with cereal and there's a lot of things
that give you great hope that Cooper Flag really is
the real deal.
Speaker 4 (12:47):
But the problem, and here's the craziest thing about it,
he considers a mouse a wild animal. Yeah, and however,
so did like nine other people. It wasn't even rat
it said mouth on the board. I couldn't believe it.
Speaker 2 (12:59):
Now, I would you as a gentleman, you probably well,
you would never put yourself in a situation where you
needed to ask the age of a female. But at
some point it might be the right thing to do.
Speaker 1 (13:11):
If you're a seventies rocker.
Speaker 2 (13:12):
Yeah, maybe uh, or you know, maybe uh. The current
guitarist for Modest Mouse, Yeah, you know, not really a
real member, just kind of a fly by night guy.
But maybe sending some messages to some underage girls that
aren't good right, may maybe so age weight though typically
you don't ask, Maybe it's you should ask the age.
Speaker 1 (13:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (13:33):
By the way, I'm not even one hundred percent sure.
What is a cloak. It's like a It's like the cape.
Speaker 4 (13:38):
Yeah, okay, because I thought it was like a robe. No,
a robe is a robe. Well, a cape is a cape.
Speaker 2 (13:45):
Well, you know, cloak is like a crap your cape.
What I think you made up?
Speaker 6 (13:50):
No, No, A cloak is, yeah, it's a cape. A
robe is something they wrap around completely.
Speaker 1 (13:56):
Yeah, like a reach around.
Speaker 2 (13:58):
Yeah, cloak, you would assume it the I was naked.
You would see dong on the cloak and you wouldn't
on the rope. Cloak is still around the neck, but
like less hefty as. A cloak is a.
Speaker 4 (14:09):
Loose outer garment, a hidden cover, or an act of hiding.
It can be a long cape worn on the shoulders
of a way to keep things secret, like a cloak
of darkness.
Speaker 2 (14:21):
Either way, you would ask questions if you saw a
person walking through the office in a cloak or Okay,
our friend, our friend Paul Shalde, his dad was performing
in Brooklyn, I.
Speaker 4 (14:33):
Think in Brooklyn, somewhere in New York and met his
wife and when he met.
Speaker 2 (14:36):
Her, he was shirtless with a cape. That is a
true story.
Speaker 6 (14:39):
I think I've heard this story.
Speaker 1 (14:40):
It is so amazing. What a star, what a star.
Speaker 4 (14:43):
Well man, I'm very excited about the future of the
Flag family now. I think they're doing a really good job.
Coming up next bon Jovi did what and he fixed it?
Speaker 5 (14:52):
How?
Speaker 1 (14:52):
We'll tell you next.
Speaker 4 (14:53):
Woo the number one pop punk bracket challenge that was
so hard to say last week.
Speaker 1 (14:58):
I see it and still can't say.
Speaker 4 (15:00):
If you missed any of last week's Thursday and Friday show,
too bad because almost all of them had music segments.
Now we are going to do some music segments today
at four o'clock because the theme of intros continues on. Just
trust me, you'll want to be listening for this. Also
be listening for your chance to win guns and Roses tickets.
But right now, let's do.
Speaker 6 (15:19):
This Incerteen's Entertainment.
Speaker 5 (15:23):
And My Bones.
Speaker 1 (15:27):
John bon Jovi, John bon Joviy. What's his last name,
John bon Jiovy bon Joviy.
Speaker 2 (15:34):
So he was performing at Madison Square Garden last week
and he was playing nine eight of a nine show residency. God,
what a beating yeah, And after singing living on a Prayer,
he goes, I'm sorry, I'm hurt and you're not getting
the best of me.
Speaker 1 (15:54):
Oh he's British now I guess, so, huh Philadelphia guy?
Speaker 5 (15:57):
Right?
Speaker 4 (15:57):
Was he wearing a cloak? No, he's not a Philadelphia guy.
He's a New Jersey guy.
Speaker 2 (16:00):
And by the way, song fifteen on that set list.
All right, so he'd done them halfty amount of songs.
He then says, and I think this is just showing
your age a little bit. He says, don't throw away
your ticket stubs. I'm gonna figure something out. Okay, just
hold on to it. We'll figure out how to reschedule.
(16:22):
And you don't walk it off the stage. He said,
I'm gonna have to cool it for the night.
Speaker 4 (16:27):
You don't reschedule at Madison Square Garden, you know, no,
especially when you're fifteen songs if your average so the
opener has already played, maybe there wasn't an opener. Your
average song is probably live four minutes long, non average
maybe three and a half. So you're talking about you're
an hour and fifteen, an hour and a half into
(16:47):
the show. And what I don't think Madison Square Garden
is gonna get down like that. He may have to
go do it in the park, Oh, Central Park, like
Paul Simon.
Speaker 2 (16:57):
That'd be dope. Now you need a lot of play
for that, though, you need to get permits.
Speaker 4 (17:02):
What's a worse bet payoff to have to go to
all nine bon Jovi shows on nine consecutive nights, or
to watch the two and a half hour finale of Mash.
Speaker 1 (17:12):
They're both painful. But what's the word word?
Speaker 4 (17:15):
I mean, I'm not I'm not talking about I'm not
even dissing bon Jovi. But if you had to go
see him every night for nine straight nights.
Speaker 6 (17:22):
Uh huh.
Speaker 2 (17:22):
And it's the same setting, what a beating Yeah, it's
a time thing.
Speaker 1 (17:26):
I'd watch Mash.
Speaker 6 (17:27):
Yeah, I don't want to travel all the way to
Madison Square Garden.
Speaker 4 (17:31):
What if you had to write a short review of
the Mash finale?
Speaker 2 (17:36):
That's fine, I mean, just stop adding homeworks and and
you had to start a sub stack and post it.
Speaker 6 (17:43):
Oh, just a masch stack.
Speaker 2 (17:45):
He had a sinus infection. So as a guy, I'm
not like some guy looking for bon Jovi very often.
I should be, Maybe I should be more of an
admirer of his work. But where would you find him
if you were looking for him? Probably lone Star ninety
two five here over on Sirius XM. Maybe, uh, the
iHeart app. I'm sure they have a bon Jovi channel.
(18:06):
I think they have a whole bon Jovi app. You
can do probably, you can kind of do anything on it.
You can set us talkbacks too, by the way, Yeah,
your messages. But the point is I walk away from
this going fifteen songs. I've got a sinus infection. I
feel like every other music star of his stature in
the world or not stature of his status in the world,
(18:26):
would say, I'm good, that's the end of the show
and just walk off.
Speaker 1 (18:29):
Rod Stewart would just go to a soccer man.
Speaker 2 (18:31):
I know. It's like, I kind of think this is great. Yeah,
he's like, because what do you expect I expect the
band to play? He did fifteen songs for me. I
kind of can't gripe. No, I respect it, and I
think this is true. A lot of five seven guys
are hard workers, and so I think he's just got that.
You know, New Jersey, Hey Jersey, Yo, snooky, I work hard.
Speaker 4 (18:53):
I'm five to seven. I work on the docs. I'll
do nine straight nights. Sience infection. No, sorry, here's the
nother shows for you?
Speaker 6 (19:01):
Is okay? Do we know how many he did on
the other eight nights? How many songs he did six?
Imagine you're earth Yeah, but imagine you're a big fan,
like whatever your favorite artist is, you're going to see
him at masson Square Garden. Yeah, and then you get
jipped out of what maybe five songs?
Speaker 4 (19:19):
Me and Kat went and saw Donald Glover and he
fell off the stage with a broken leg and he
didn't even do Uh what was the big encore we missed?
Speaker 1 (19:28):
Probably Redbone or three thousand and five or something.
Speaker 3 (19:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (19:31):
Uh, I will say, twenty three songs in the setlist, okay,
part so basically he finished two thirds of it. Yeah,
And to say I'm sorry, we'll reschedule it. I'm saying
anyone else would have walked off and been like, I'm ah,
we'll sick heemus for coming.
Speaker 6 (19:46):
Well, he's trying not to piss off the fans, like
I said, Like they're upset because all these other people
got a full twenty three song show. You're only getting
fifteen and he's walking off stage. How's that fair?
Speaker 2 (19:56):
Most people that age though, and that successful, do not
care about the He probably should have apologized for the
last few albums he put out. Yeah, And I will
say during Living on a Prayer, the guest singer was
your guys Skin from Train, Pat Monahan, Let's go Man.
I love Pat. He ed Bruce Springsteen come out and
(20:18):
do a couple of songs with him.
Speaker 4 (20:19):
When he made his tour return last night, another big another,
big Jersey guy, Big Jersey guy. All right, it's submitting
skin Show ninety seven point one The Eagle coming up next.
Speaker 1 (20:27):
What's in the cookie jar? Kray?
Speaker 6 (20:28):
A lot of stuff happened at Comic Con over the weekend.
Speaker 2 (20:31):
In next, Ben and skin Show ninety seven point one
The Eagle.
Speaker 1 (20:34):
All right.
Speaker 4 (20:35):
Last week I did the greatest intros of all time
that weren't on Christina's list of the twenty five greatest
rock intro So we basically had sixty five to choose from.
Katy and Christina have their top five, will do it
at four o'clock. We also have guns and roses, tickets. God,
we got a lot of good stuff. But right now
it's time for this.
Speaker 3 (20:53):
It's time to pop the top your heads. And it's
grabbing three from Pristina's scoopy jar.
Speaker 2 (21:07):
Christine has.
Speaker 1 (21:12):
Christine.
Speaker 6 (21:22):
Over the weekend, Comic Con was happening in San Diego,
and I don't know about you guys, but every time
I checked Twitter, there's stuff popping up on what was
happening at Comic Con. It's like, all right, I guess
I do care about this, and so I wanted to
go through a few of the highlights here. First off,
the winner of our pop punk bracket, Skin Green Day
Pop Punk Bracket.
Speaker 1 (21:42):
That's hard to say.
Speaker 6 (21:44):
They were there. They actually surprised people, and they did
a little. They only performed a basket case one song
on top of an ice cream truck, I know. And
they were throwing out ice cream, cassette tapes, t shirts,
all kinds of things for their fans. And they're doing
this to promote their movie that's coming out in just
a few weeks now, finally August fourteenth.
Speaker 4 (22:04):
By the way, I thought of this because when you
brought them up, I saw a clib. Have you guys
seen the Lollapalooza documentary.
Speaker 3 (22:12):
I think so.
Speaker 4 (22:13):
I think y'all would be interested in it. Interested in
it not only because of the story, but also how
weird Perry Farrell looks. And when they interview him, he's
in a room and a chair where the desert is
the background. It is so strange, and he's got his
hair and his makeup and he's had plastic surgery.
Speaker 1 (22:28):
It's really wild. Look he looks like an art project.
Speaker 6 (22:30):
I want to watch it since I just read that book.
Speaker 1 (22:33):
Yeah, no, I think you would love it.
Speaker 6 (22:34):
I really do something else that happened Ryan Gosling and
now says the next Ghostwriter, let's go. So what's funny
is when I think Ghostwrider, I think of Nicholas Cage too,
And did you ever see that movie?
Speaker 1 (22:50):
Never saw it, but I remember it and the trailer
and all that stuff.
Speaker 2 (22:53):
Yeah, and I.
Speaker 6 (22:54):
Remember it kind of being goofy. I'm like Nicholas Cage
as Ghostwriter. I don't know anything about ghost Writer, but
I know he's probably not a good good fit. But
what's weird is his love interest in that movie back
in like two thousand and seven. I think Eva Mendez,
Oh wow, which is Ryan Goslin's wife. So I just
thought that was cool.
Speaker 4 (23:13):
So man, I love that scene. I love her nude
scene in Training Day. I think it's one of her
great nude scenes.
Speaker 2 (23:21):
Does she have a lot of those?
Speaker 3 (23:22):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (23:22):
I just remember that very well.
Speaker 6 (23:24):
Okay, I don't think I've ever seen her nude.
Speaker 2 (23:26):
When I think of ghost Rider, I don't think of Ghostwrider.
Speaker 1 (23:31):
Does that make sense?
Speaker 2 (23:32):
You think of the ghost Rider like the toy Now,
I've just never thought of it ever. Oh oh, of
someone being a ghostwriter. I knew that there was a
thing with Nick Cage. I think, yeah, maybe I might
have even thought it never came out.
Speaker 1 (23:45):
I don't know. Is he Marvel?
Speaker 2 (23:48):
Is he DC?
Speaker 3 (23:48):
What is he?
Speaker 1 (23:49):
It is Marvel?
Speaker 3 (23:50):
Now?
Speaker 6 (23:51):
I think that first one was kind of just a
standalone thing.
Speaker 2 (23:54):
No, I don't know.
Speaker 1 (23:54):
I don't think about it.
Speaker 6 (23:55):
So people are going to leave angry talkbacks now head,
but that is coming out, and uh, the guy directing
it is the same guy that did Deadpool Wolverine.
Speaker 2 (24:04):
Oh, so we're good shape.
Speaker 6 (24:05):
I think it'll be okay. And it's Ryan Gosling, so yep,
I think we'll be okay with that.
Speaker 1 (24:10):
What is R rated again?
Speaker 4 (24:11):
What does he say? Oh? Oh?
Speaker 6 (24:14):
R rated is awesome? Well, speaking of Deadpool, speaking of
R rated is awesome. Ryan Reynolds did show up in
a Deadpool costume. Oh yeah, but he didn't take the
mask off the whole time. He was in like a
gray Deadpool costume anyway, a Canada flag. But I did
see an article like just he's kind of afraid to
show his face after all the Blake Lively stuff fit. Yeah,
(24:37):
lawsuit thing just didn't end well, but he was there
was confirmed that was him in a great Deadpool outfit.
Speaker 2 (24:43):
He was so universally loved. Yeah, Blake Lively thing is
really interesting. He's still pretty much loved, except women are
a little more suspicious of him now. I think people
are suspicious. I think guys are still kind of like.
He seems like a pretty cool guys. Okay, one of
the nicest big name celebrities we ever met.
Speaker 1 (24:59):
He was great. He went out of his way to
do an interview with us.
Speaker 2 (25:02):
He was killing.
Speaker 1 (25:02):
That's sweet. Did he did you have his announcement there's
another Deadpool movie coming?
Speaker 5 (25:08):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (25:09):
He confirmed, which is wonderful. That's why I like that
movie is so great.
Speaker 6 (25:12):
Do you remember the date he said on that? I
don't know, Okay, but it just is coming out. Also,
I will say Blake Lively was widely loved before all
that came out as well.
Speaker 1 (25:20):
Yeah, it exposed her disappointed me.
Speaker 6 (25:22):
I really liked her.
Speaker 1 (25:23):
I like looking at her.
Speaker 6 (25:25):
Another new movie was announced, Black Panther, the third Black
Panther coming out. An named the new guy right, David Johnson,
and he will be playing Chadwick's Sun in the film.
Oh cool, So, and that's coming out twenty twenty eight
December of twenty twenty eight.
Speaker 1 (25:41):
I realized I never saw Wakanda forever. Did y'all see it?
I don't think I did either. I need to see
it because Black Panther was bad ass. Yeah, it really was.
Speaker 6 (25:48):
Was great, It was cool, and then I thought this
was cool. There's a carry series coming out. It's gonna
be an eight part mini series. No the old movie
care Stephen King. Yes, it was a dull. No, it's
it's Sissy's basic. Is it gonna have John Travolta in it?
I don't think so, But I do remember us talking
(26:10):
about them airing that at whatever Ramones thing was going on. Yeah,
oh yeah, and yeah, that'll be October seventh on Prime Video,
directed by Mike Flanagain. Do you know anything about Mike Flannergain.
Speaker 1 (26:20):
I think he's Irish.
Speaker 2 (26:21):
I don't know.
Speaker 6 (26:21):
I don't know anything, Okay, but he's Yeah, he's directing it,
and that's coming out again in October.
Speaker 4 (26:25):
So for seeing that, that is a good cookie. Jar
Kray updates from Comic Con All right. Coming up next,
we have Kat and Christina's top five intros of all time,
whittled down from my list of forty plus the original
list of twenty five. What are they We're gonna blow
your ears off next right here on the Eagle. I
think this is one of the greatest rocking shows ever.
See you know what I'm saying. Yeah, you know what
(26:45):
I'm saying. I mean I'm not gonna bring it up again,
and certainly not at any time during the course of
this show.
Speaker 1 (26:51):
Benchkin Show Nine's done. Boy won the Eagle.
Speaker 4 (26:54):
Coming up here in like fifteen minutes, We're gonna do
the Today game. I still have guns and roses, tickets,
so many reasons to stick around.
Speaker 1 (27:00):
But first, can I ask you a question? Can we
hijack another fifteen minutes of your day or so? What
is the ideal camping season?
Speaker 2 (27:09):
How are you feeling about your team these days? You're
in your truck right now, aren't you.
Speaker 6 (27:12):
Are you doing anything this weekend?
Speaker 1 (27:14):
How does the vinyl of the seat feel against your screw?
What were you working on with that prototype?
Speaker 2 (27:19):
Do you like little kids?
Speaker 1 (27:20):
What's the most important thing I should know about you?
Have you achieved greatness? What were your parents like? What
are you looking forward to?
Speaker 4 (27:27):
Were there more poisey guys on the Cowboys than other teams?
Are you a bigger Cowboy fan or a Maverick fan,
did I cause you grief already working on that prototype
ever time there's a couple in there by me where
you can tell them about to say other words, but
it's just cut off, and so it sounds weird.
Speaker 1 (27:46):
You're camping trip, that's the ideal camping season.
Speaker 6 (27:48):
Yeah, that's what it was.
Speaker 1 (27:50):
It's so good enough joke around. Let's get serious here.
Speaker 2 (27:52):
Yeah, sorry, I called for the ball and can I
ask you a question? Which you guys at any point,
you know, if you've got a question that you feel
like we need to talk about, you can call for
that and say, hey, we got a question segment.
Speaker 1 (28:02):
I'd like to do it now.
Speaker 2 (28:04):
Oh okay, not in the middle. Oh oh okay, sorry, yeah, okay,
here's my question.
Speaker 1 (28:10):
I don't want to put anyone in a tough spot.
Speaker 2 (28:12):
Oh my question is.
Speaker 1 (28:18):
Is Mitch McConnell alive or dead? Christina?
Speaker 2 (28:22):
This is your thing?
Speaker 5 (28:23):
You go ahead?
Speaker 6 (28:23):
Two one four seven, eight seven. No, I'm not following
this story too closely, I'll admit, come on, but I
know I have heard people say I think they're just
AI in it right. They're putting stuff out there to
make it seem like he's alive when he's not.
Speaker 1 (28:41):
Which we were in the early stages of that becoming
our world.
Speaker 2 (28:44):
Here's what I think. I think.
Speaker 1 (28:47):
I think he is alive.
Speaker 4 (28:49):
I don't think he's doing anything, and I don't think
he's improving.
Speaker 2 (28:54):
Oh you like that? Are you saying you think he
is You're saying that. Did you hear him put words
in my mouth? Well, you said you you think he's alive,
you don't think he's doing anything or improving.
Speaker 1 (29:07):
That would stop right there.
Speaker 2 (29:09):
That's what I said.
Speaker 1 (29:11):
It's possible.
Speaker 2 (29:12):
Oh, are you putting words in my mouth?
Speaker 1 (29:14):
I'm not. I'm I'm asking you a question. Oh is
this a follow up question?
Speaker 2 (29:18):
Are you saying that he's a vegetable? Kevin and you
laughed after because that's something that just feels like something
an old person would say. Isn't that a question?
Speaker 4 (29:29):
Man?
Speaker 2 (29:29):
I'm pretty sure that I heard my grandparents call a
special needs kid of mongoloid.
Speaker 1 (29:33):
Oh No, I'm serious.
Speaker 2 (29:36):
It's just they just they just said things that just
they're so raw. Now never been like that person's a vegetable.
I would never say that. You just said it.
Speaker 5 (29:46):
You did.
Speaker 2 (29:46):
No, you play on what old people do say and
then you put number one finger in the air.
Speaker 4 (29:51):
And you said, look at me, I'm number one, and
then you giggled and then you adjusted your scroat.
Speaker 2 (29:57):
That's not what happened.
Speaker 6 (29:59):
I didn't see the life parts. You're right, I don't
know if that last part happened.
Speaker 2 (30:02):
So he fell on June fourteenth, has been hospitalized since then.
I think he's been doing important legislative work. He's missed
the last thirty eight votes on the Senate floor. Oh well, now,
a couple weeks ago there was a statement and release
that he's doing fine, and they had a photo of
him smiling in a hospital which wearing a red button
(30:23):
down shirt, red and white button down shirt.
Speaker 1 (30:26):
And keep going.
Speaker 4 (30:27):
He put on jeans. He put on jeans to get
back into a hospital bed. Now I can speak on
this with a pretty good authority, seeing that I've gone
in for cancer surgeries. At no time did I get
out of my hospital bed put on jeans and get
back in the hospital bed. You don't do that for
any reason. Well, yeah, and it's hey, put these jeans
(30:50):
on and get in your hospital bed.
Speaker 6 (30:52):
If people were concerned and they want to see a
picture of you and make sure like, oh, press, we
got to do some press here and make you look
okay and presentable. But would you do that?
Speaker 1 (31:00):
But wearing jeans in a hospital bed is not presentable.
It's just weird.
Speaker 4 (31:04):
It doesn't make sense. Like why couldn't he sit in
there's chairs in these rooms. Yeah, why did he have
to crawl out of the hospital bed, put on jeans
and crawl back in?
Speaker 1 (31:14):
Did he leave the jeans on for a few days? So,
like it is so weird.
Speaker 2 (31:18):
You've seen the picture and his wife, Elaine Chow is
right beside him. The great chairs to keep her name
and not go with Elaine McConnell I would have done
the same she and then she's representing. So today they
put out another statement, Oh okay, let's go after it,
and a photo is attached.
Speaker 1 (31:36):
With okay, I haven't seen it. Have you seen this?
Speaker 6 (31:38):
No?
Speaker 1 (31:40):
Did he put on a blazer and get in the
hospital bed?
Speaker 2 (31:42):
This photo?
Speaker 6 (31:45):
Okay, that's the first one that pops up.
Speaker 1 (31:47):
Yeah it'sim let me walk over there. The same photo
with him in a blue polo.
Speaker 2 (31:54):
It's the same smile. You don't see down to the waist.
He's not re eating the paper, but it's the same facials.
Here's my thing that he don't see down to the
waist because they learned their lesson on the jeans name.
If he was just a guy, just someone's grandpa, that's it.
I have no problem with the privacy, yeah, hip, the laws,
all that stuff. And so if you're a sitting member,
(32:17):
uh and a senator okay, and I would argue that,
I'd argue the most influential Republican of the last twenty
years not named Trump. Maybe take party out of any
of this, but you have votes that you're missing, okay,
and things like that. Yeah, I would contend that in
twenty twenty six, you have the ability to right now
(32:38):
call someone on your phone and FaceTime, take a video
and send it to someone. Why can we not get
living video of this man?
Speaker 1 (32:46):
Two reasons.
Speaker 4 (32:46):
One we don't deserve it, and number two, I think
he's old school and prefers that I think that's actually
shot on film stock.
Speaker 2 (32:53):
No, And I think it's Look, it's this. There's a reason.
There's a people have the right to ask this question,
is someone alive or dead?
Speaker 4 (33:04):
I think that's fair if it's them, all right, go
into the comment section. Is someone allowed to ask the
question is someone alive or dead?
Speaker 2 (33:11):
Is there in politics? I don't know, like I don't
think we have the right to ask is let me
just like any example, I don't think we have the
right to ask that person about someone who doesn't really
impact other people's lives.
Speaker 4 (33:23):
No, I agree, I agree, And you know the same
thing with famous people, just you know, for acting or whatever.
Speaker 2 (33:29):
Alive.
Speaker 4 (33:29):
All right, go leave in the comment section. Ben and
Skin Show, ninety seven point one The Eagle. We do
have some TV news to get to at five o'clock,
but next it's the Today Game right here on ninety
seven point one The Eagle. All right, Franklin Frankel, long
time friends of the Ben and Skin Show.
Speaker 1 (33:44):
They have been doing this for a very long time.
Speaker 4 (33:46):
What is this three decades of being advocates for injury victims,
fighting for them, making sure that they get everything that
should be coming their way when they get hurt in
a wreck or on the job site because someone else
was careless or negligent. So any things can happen, miss
time from work, lost wages, medical bills, future issues that
you don't even think about. Who if you do just
(34:07):
some quick settlement with the insurance company, they're going to
screw you over.
Speaker 2 (34:11):
That's what they do.
Speaker 4 (34:13):
I mean, I'm not like if you're an insurance salesman
out there, I'm sorry, I love you, but you know what,
the insurance companies do their businesses and there's a bunch
of private equity money. They just want to keep their money.
They don't care. You need an advocate fighting for you,
and that's what Frank and Frank will do. And that's
what they've done for three decades. Two one four, three three,
three thirty three thirty three or eight one seven and
(34:33):
all threes. Call them as soon as you're involved in
a wreck and tell them Ben and skin censure for
Frankel and Frankel chosen by the people and feared by
the insurance companies.
Speaker 1 (34:41):
Fire NK e L call Frankel first.
Speaker 4 (34:46):
All right, I'm giving away tickets right now. Give it
away tickets to go see Guns and Roses. The first
person who's in the talkback feature on the iHeart app
that leaves their name, their phone number, their email address
and can name one of the two wrestlers just talked
about in the today game. We just talked about and
there's two guys. In fact, we talked about their crotches.
If you were listening, you know, in the first person.
(35:07):
They can name one of those and leave your name,
your phone number, your email addressing. You win those guns
and Roses tickets. We're giving them away all week long.
But right now it's time for this.
Speaker 1 (35:25):
I have a couple of TV questions for you.
Speaker 2 (35:28):
In a second, It's fine, Kevin, hot's good. I had
a couple of TV questions for you, guys. In a second,
I wanna play some audio first. One of the in
my opinion top three like TV accomplishments of the last
ten years is season one of the Studio Kath Rogan Show.
So fun, so many random cameos, and it was on
Apple TV. It's ten episodes. They're all about thirty minutes long.
(35:49):
But they're working on season two and he the way
this show is shot, they do a bunch of one shots,
which means you can't mess up a lot of tracking
and things like that. No edits. So it's very important,
and says Rowan's done interviews talking about it and how
it's very tense and sometimes for the morale of the
whole crew. If someone messes up, you just kind of
(36:11):
finish doing it and then go back. You know, you
pick and choose when they'll be like, okay, got we
got to stop. It's actually that's part of one of
the episodes. Yeah, no, absolutely, yeah. Yeah. It's almost like, well,
here's the life for a living, let's just make it
a show. Yeah. So it's it's very interesting. But they're
working on season two. So they're out in La shooting
and it's him and Jonah Hill are shooting a scene
(36:33):
when they're interrupted by some guy filming himself, some influencer
time filming himself. And now you'll hear Jonah Hill pop
in and you'll hear Seth Rogen's awkward laugh. Here you go, Hi,
I just want to say high, we're working. Nice to
meet you.
Speaker 3 (36:47):
How are you?
Speaker 1 (36:48):
You're good?
Speaker 2 (36:49):
Any advice you've got to anybody trying to make it
in La?
Speaker 1 (36:52):
Enjoy your life, being a kind person.
Speaker 5 (36:54):
How you doing?
Speaker 6 (36:55):
I'm good?
Speaker 2 (36:56):
A little quick?
Speaker 1 (36:56):
Can I get any advice to anybody trying to make
in LA?
Speaker 2 (36:59):
I would say don't people as they're trying to make
their show.
Speaker 5 (37:01):
That's probably not a good idea.
Speaker 2 (37:03):
I mean it's hard to it's hard to be yourself.
Speaker 1 (37:08):
Thank you.
Speaker 2 (37:09):
Look at this, y'aw, we just caught a mid movie
production movie.
Speaker 6 (37:14):
He doesn't even know.
Speaker 1 (37:17):
Yeah, just it's idiotic, and it's where we're going.
Speaker 4 (37:19):
Well, you know what, that's the whole thing about firing
your shot if you don't have real talent. I mean
basically what he did is he just told anyone in
the film industry, you can't hire me. But he got
his moment on social media, So now can he turn
that into something? Yeah, because I mean it's like, hey,
I want to break through, here's my chance, and they're
telling you not to do it.
Speaker 1 (37:40):
You're disruptive, So where do you think that's gonna go?
Dumb ass?
Speaker 2 (37:43):
You can tell Seth Rogen that is his laugh, but
he might just do that fake laugh. Sometimes it's like
a crutch because he's he's he's not happy. I would say,
don't the people.
Speaker 5 (37:52):
As they're trying to make their show. That's probably not
a good idea.
Speaker 6 (37:55):
I mean it's hard, it's hard to like, may respect
people's boundaries.
Speaker 1 (37:59):
Yeah, first dude, brutal. That'll probably be an episode. If
that kid had done that to Sean Penn, he'd be dead.
Speaker 2 (38:07):
Yeah. No, that's that's what I was thinking. To anyone else.
We've seen these guys twist off on people. Yeah, and
it's funny. He said, they've done these episodes where you know,
the the Daylight, They've got to get it done, and
the movie producers just in there bogging down the scene.
Speaker 1 (38:23):
Yeah, you have to finish this. I can't believe you
have it. I will another one.
Speaker 2 (38:27):
You should watch. I finished it last night, and that's
why I wanted to bring this to the tables. I
finished Widow's Bay, Christina. Yeah, that's next on the list.
We started in the Bear. We're halfway through the Bear,
and then we'll probably do Widow's Bay after that.
Speaker 6 (38:39):
I will say that that final episode wasn't as good
as all the other ones.
Speaker 1 (38:43):
I didn't think I loved it, but okay, but I
loved it. It's so tense.
Speaker 6 (38:47):
Yeah, it's so tense. I'm glad you liked it.
Speaker 1 (38:49):
So funny when you don't see it coming, something hilarious happen.
Speaker 4 (38:53):
Amen.
Speaker 6 (38:53):
Amen, Okay, I know, Hey Amen, Amen, So get on that.
Speaker 3 (38:59):
Man.
Speaker 1 (38:59):
Man, I'm glad you're working on the Bear. The Bear's good.
You're selling the Bear.
Speaker 2 (39:02):
Christina.
Speaker 6 (39:03):
I stopped because Mike was out, where's we're on Cape
Fear right now? Which no, I totally get. There's way
there's way too many storylines. Going on in Cape Fear.
It's very weird, but I have to have to.
Speaker 2 (39:15):
Get to finish. The Bear does something in season five
that is very smart and is a needed change from
how season three and four operated.
Speaker 1 (39:24):
So I think that's like very important. Okay, I just
wanted to get that. There's some TV stuff.
Speaker 6 (39:28):
Yeah, anytime.
Speaker 1 (39:30):
That was good. Did you hear what he did?
Speaker 5 (39:31):
