be here on a news station, the stations where my
radio listening journey began as a child listening to Bow
and Jim in the morning. So it feels like I've
done a full radio circle of listening.

Anna Ao and Randy and I was thinking about to
when we first got here. Now, if you were listening earlier, Christina,
you know interned with Bow and Jim way back in

Almost fifteen years ago? Right, a long time ago.

Yeah, but I remember when we first got here. I
probably interacted with Randy more than anybody else because Randy
was always around in the little pit area.

Yes, a nice guy. Yeah, so many hours, he'd a
lot to do. He was up here a lot. Did
you guys talk guitar a lot?
Speaker 3 (01:56):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (01:56):
He was bass. He was a bass player. But yes,
we did play talk guitar and bass.

You should reach out to him and let him know
that you're playing bass now. By the way, if you
don't know, Christina Kray Reyray from our show is a
really good guitar player and bass player as well, and
we'll be talking about her band as her bands rather
as as our show progresses. But the other thing too is,
you know, I had known Ao for I think I remember,

wasn't he on the edge in the is that early nineties.
That's the thing about all of this for us is
that we've all grown up here in the Metroplex.

Kat and Christina are significantly younger than me and Ben,
but these are names and people that we grew up
listening to and so then to later get to work
alongside him. When we first got here at iHeart and
we're at the Eagle, you know, you had Bow and
Jim in the mornings and the whole crew and Ao
and Randy and then over time, you know, for I

don't even know if people listening remember, you know, Jim
retired four years ago. That's a really long time ago
when you think about it, and then Randy left to
move back to California.
Speaker 2 (03:04):
I'm trying to remember when that was, but that was
a couple of years ago, three years ago. Yeah, I
am wondering if that was before or after Jim retired.
Speaker 1 (03:11):
Twenty twenty three, twenty twenty four, yeah, it. I mean,
all this stuff starts to run together. Yeah, but when
you actually go back and you start looking at stuff,
you guys. I looked this up because I didn't know,
you know, for me Bow and Jim, you know, I
think I also think of Q one O two, Yeah
and so and Q one O two was was Q
one two around when you guys were I don't think so,
you guys might have it might have been gone by
(03:33):
the time that you guys were paying attention to radio.
Q one O two was massive for me and Ben
when we were, you know, growing up in the eighties,
and that's where Bow and Jim. I'm pretty sure they
got their start on Q one O two. They went
to ZPs. I looked this up because I didn't know
in nineteen ninety eight. Yeah, ninety eight, you and I
had never even spoken a word on the radio yet. No, uh,
(03:54):
you know, that wasn't gonna happen for a little bit
later for us. Do you do you remember a difference
between in Q one O two the Zoo the Eagle
and ZPs. So for me, yes, I was a Zoo
guy for a lot of reasons. Number One, I would
drive to school my sister would take me to school
and drop me off, and we listened to Labella and

Roady every every morning.
Speaker 2 (04:17):
And when the.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
Very first time, the very first day of the ticket
came on the air, Ben and I were working at
this this place that sold business cards.
Speaker 2 (04:25):
Business cards tomorrow, business cards Tomorrow.
Speaker 1 (04:27):
We'd take the business cards off of a off of
a splitter.
Speaker 2 (04:31):
We would box them and then go deliver them. We
had to wake up earlier than this.
Speaker 1 (04:35):
Yeah, I mean I used to go in at six
in the morning and make the rubber stamps because business
card Tomorrow also has rubber stamps. So the very first
time the ticket came on the air, we're in there
listening and the Hardline comes on at eleven o'clock and
they introduced themselves and I remember going, Mike Reiner from
Lebela and Roady, what he's because I didn't know what
(04:57):
ever happened to the guy.
Speaker 2 (04:58):
I had no idea.
Speaker 1 (04:59):
It had been fallen off my mind for seven or
eight years. But Lebelle and Rody was. That was my
favorite radio show growing up, and still I think it's
one of the greatest radio shows of all time. But
that was on ZPs and you also had the Freakazoid,
the giant creature from the zoo that was an elephant
with wings, and all of that like really mattered to me.
(05:22):
And so for us, you know, we're radio generation, and
so you know, we don't take it lightly that we're
here in a slot that the Bow and Jim Show
held down for so very long. That's why we're excited
about this, you know, and we hope that one day
when we're done, there's gonna be some other show coming
along that's gonna be happy to take the place of
(05:43):
what been and Skin held down for a long time.
That's the way this thing works. We're not replacing anybody.
Those are irreplaceable people. Just again, Lebelle and Rody have
not been on the air in thirty five years, but
they're still irreplaceable to me. And that's the role that
radio hopefully plays in your lives. It's the role that
it played in our lives. And we're doing all this
(06:04):
with the love and respect for the DFW radio history,
and we just hope that you can have fun with
us in the morning. We're not here to replace people
that are irreplaceable. Yeah, well said, well said, I got
I'm gonna somebody just asked this on the Lone Star

We've known them hell since nineteen ninety nine, two thousand,
go way way back with these guys. But they are
phenomenal lawyers. If you're involved in a wreck, you need
Frankel and Frankel. They handled my case. They fought the
other side so I didn't have to. They set up
the MRIs X rays and physical therapy and at the
end of it all, Franklin Frankel got me a nice

cash settlement.

Yeah, and that's with no out of pocket expenses.

Right, That's one of the really important things, making sure
that they get on the case immediately. They get you
the medical tension you need and you deserve. They start
gathering evidence, but you're not going to be paying for that.
It's not out of pocket expenses for you. That's one
of the really special things about this as well. They've
been doing this a long time, over thirty years, and
they're great at what they do. If you get hurt
in a wreck on the job site, you need them
