Speaker 1 (00:00):
Ah, Yes, cock it and pull it. We've made it
to December. This is the world famous bitting skin show.
It's December the second. Thank you for tuning in, Thank
you for getting your ego on. We're gonna have a
lot of fun on this presentation today. And man, there's
so much to get into, but I want to just
start by asking you guys about something I think I know,
(00:22):
I think I know where you guys stand on this.
But I watched the Texas Texas A and M game
at an A and M house. Oh my god, who
punished you with that crap? So I have some some
dear friends of ours or big A and M folks.
Did y'all stand up a lot in salute? I didn't,
you know, I didn't. I didn't pledge allegiance to the
(00:42):
America or A and M at that.
Speaker 2 (00:44):
No, I didn't. I didn't.
Speaker 1 (00:46):
I didn't go as an A and M fan. I
didn't like turn suddenly to an A and M person.
They most everyone there was rooting for A and M.
But I wasn't how many male military cheerleaders were there.
Speaker 2 (00:56):
There's so many of them. There's so many, dude. But
it was an A and M house okay.
Speaker 1 (01:00):
And so I'm not accustomed to this because I am
usually watching the game in a very pro University of Texas.
Speaker 2 (01:07):
House, very burnt orange house, very burnt orange.
Speaker 1 (01:10):
Both my brothers went there for undergrad and grad school
kids went there. My kids have been decked out in
UT gear their whole life. They probably have more UT
gear than Cowboys, Rangers or Mavericks or Stars gear. And
so I'm at this thing. I'm at this you know,
watching party. And any time McConaughey got airtime, there was loathing.
(01:31):
I mean, it was pure hatred for McConaughey, and I
was like.
Speaker 2 (01:35):
Come on, man, he's not that bad.
Speaker 1 (01:37):
And it was just so much anti McConaughey. So I'm
just curious as to where you guys think most of
the world is on McConaughey. Where you guys are, I mean,
where Texas fans are. I mean, I'm just curious about
the conversation, all right, So first let me say where
I am, because I think to have I think the
(01:57):
more interesting thing is what is the world think outside
of a UT A and M dynamic, right, yeah, because
that's that's completely jaundiced. Now I am a UT fan,
I did not graduate from there, but I did go
there a couple of years.
Speaker 2 (02:10):
I flunked out of there.
Speaker 1 (02:11):
I did it with pride, and I too have family
members that graduated from there, and etcetera and et cetera.
So if I have a rooting interest in college, it
is the University of Texas. However, I'm not religious about it.
You know, it doesn't ruin my winner when they lose,
like you know, I've got on with my life, but
I like for them to win. Having said all that,
(02:33):
my feeling about McConaughey is that I don't dislike him,
but I don't take him seriously as a humana.
Speaker 2 (02:44):
He's a cartoon character. He's a cartoon character.
Speaker 1 (02:46):
And again he knows that I don't dislike him, and
I'm not like, oh my God, turn him off, but
I kind of like, you know, watch it, just kind
of like all right, you know, this guy's doing this thing.
It's fine. There's movies he's been in that I like.
But like, when I was at Thanksgiving on Thursday, for example,
my niece that you know, goes to ut she showed
(03:09):
me the message that McConaughey delivered to old Horn fans
after they threw water bottles on the ground, and like,
I'm reading the message from McConaughey to the entire He
didn't video it. He just's written, okay, written, and I'm
reading it and even reading it like the way he
wrote it. I'm like, this is all a bit like
(03:30):
he's trying to convey a message of hey, we're classy.
But I'm looking at it, going all right, but you're
saying it in this real dumbass way, and like I
see your face and I see you, know, you rubbing
your jaw, and then you look real serious and you
rub your hands together, and you're wearing that brown leather coat.
Like I see all that as I read this message.
So even though the message is a legit message, I
can't even take the message serious.
Speaker 2 (03:49):
Huh. He wants to be.
Speaker 3 (03:53):
Like one of those crazy preachers, is what I think
he wants to do, without but kind of preaching his
style of whatever he's into at the time. That's good
because I think he gets into a lot of different stuff. Man,
there was a time when he was a big hippie guy.
Speaker 2 (04:04):
Right.
Speaker 3 (04:04):
You don't hear him talk about drugs anymore. He don't
hear him talk about mushrooms anymore. He's talking about love
and peace and things like that. So I've always thought
that he always kind of wanted to do the vibe
because you know, he's rom com guy, kind of funny.
And then he's like, Okay, we gotta get serious. So
every job that I take after a true detective one
is going to be the Lincoln commercial. Like, I'm not
(04:26):
having fun anymore, right, And then that became overbearing and
he's like, well I am getting a little bit older.
Let's have a little fun. Here go horns, bless the
mood Here's moody, colisseum like.
Speaker 2 (04:36):
That our moody. Hold the moody, like the whole venue.
Like yeah.
Speaker 3 (04:40):
So he's like he's done a lot of evan and flowing.
But I think he just really wants to be a preacher.
Speaker 2 (04:44):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (04:45):
The preacher thing is interesting. I want to ask about
this because I think people forget about this. He had
like a twelve hour telethon where he went insane and
that happened in their book, Yeah, that happened in the
last couple of years.
Speaker 2 (04:57):
That that happened post pandemic insane. Good I don't remember.
I remember it.
Speaker 1 (05:01):
Said nonsense and then it's kind of like what Katy's saying,
where he's being a fake preachery he fancies himself hill
billy shaman.
Speaker 2 (05:08):
Yeah, you know what I'm saying. That's right, Lobby, you
know it's mushrooms. I don't know. It's hard.
Speaker 1 (05:14):
It's hard to once you do that, and you do
it under the moniker of your name, like you present
this like, hey, this is an aspect of me.
Speaker 2 (05:22):
It's hard to ever come back from that. Christina, where
do you sit on him?
Speaker 4 (05:26):
Well, Kat brouh Man, I will not comment on that, uh,
but we know what you're thinking. Yeah, yeah, yeah, so
Kat mentioned the romcom thing. I think all women love
him because he was He's not only good looking, but
he showed that he's funny, and he was in all
those movies and honestly, I just haven't been keeping track
of him.
Speaker 5 (05:44):
Then I totally forgot.
Speaker 4 (05:46):
When you said that he did go on that rambling
whatever he did, it was a bit of a turnoff.
Speaker 5 (05:51):
But we're just here to look at him. He looks pretty.
It's like just so good.
Speaker 1 (05:55):
I I like him in most movies, like I've enjoyed him.
It was not the role of a lifetime for him. Yeah,
but for Gary Oldman it was. But I kind of
like him. I'm I find him to be likable. He
is out there and he is super weird. But I
was in the middle of all this. I caught one
(06:16):
of his rom coms over the weekend. It was a
Ghosts of Girlfriend's Past.
Speaker 2 (06:20):
Ah, sounds good. It is the most rom cause.
Speaker 6 (06:25):
Good.
Speaker 7 (06:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (06:26):
Kate Hudson, No, that's a different one.
Speaker 3 (06:28):
That's how to get rid of a guy.
Speaker 1 (06:31):
J No, No, it's what's her name was? Kate Beckinsale?
It looks like her. It's the one she's now like
a Jennifer Garner.
Speaker 5 (06:42):
Garner wasn't god.
Speaker 1 (06:47):
I can't imagine you like good Man. I enjoyed it.
It was fun. I had a good time with it.
But I'm watching this A and M Texas game with
these folks, and the hatred for him is even more
than you guys on your pop culture mountaintop.
Speaker 2 (07:03):
It's not even He's not yeah, yeah it is.
Speaker 1 (07:06):
They are claiming that he didn't even care about ut
football until they got good again, and that's actually true.
Speaker 2 (07:12):
Is that true? I don't remember him out there in
nineteen ninety seven.
Speaker 1 (07:15):
He was in college then, wasn't he or just got
out of college. I mean, what did days and confuse
come out? I thought it's been the whole way he's
been all about UT.
Speaker 3 (07:24):
Oh six is my memory of really ever seeing him
associated with it? Now?
Speaker 2 (07:29):
I guess was he famous from ninety seven to six?
Speaker 4 (07:31):
Oh yeah, absolutely, he's too busy making movies.
Speaker 5 (07:34):
He wasn't able to be at everybody.
Speaker 2 (07:35):
Absolutely, correlate him in the Vince Young season. Tie them together.
Speaker 3 (07:41):
Absolutely, But because he was there now Will Ferrell was
doing it with USC, So it's not what you.
Speaker 1 (07:47):
Know it though, it's like it's possible he was there
and nobody cared at that time.
Speaker 2 (07:52):
That's true.
Speaker 1 (07:52):
And it wasn't until UT became a big national story
again and there he is on the sideline, you know,
all and doing all that roll with Yeah.
Speaker 2 (08:05):
Oh dag it? What forgot the in? I think McConaughey
is harmless.
Speaker 6 (08:11):
Yeah, sometime, Mords right now, you're ready, ready.
Speaker 1 (08:29):
Right, right, ready, time to do it one time.
Speaker 7 (08:33):
With ethic within I'll show you're gonna ruling it except
a similar fee pursuing it tunneled out Shaw Shank through
the sewer. Kid, Now what chilling at day Eagle? Yeah,
we're doing it three o'clock on the dock. Got a
habit for my house, a goat status. How we'd starting
to get craddic shows that up multiplied like a rabbit
(08:54):
ten zone out.
Speaker 2 (08:55):
Crank it up, beat the habit.
Speaker 4 (08:58):
I wanta hang out out with my friend and rocking
on the radio.
Speaker 1 (09:04):
My homeboys talking on the radio.
Speaker 2 (09:10):
It's time to this flock in all Baba, baby go.
Speaker 1 (09:16):
Kat, Christine up in the scene.
Speaker 2 (09:20):
All up on the radio.
Speaker 1 (09:22):
All right, this is the world famous Ben and Skin Show,
and we are back in action and excited to be
Hope everybody had an awesome Thanksgiving week and you had
great memories with your family and whatnot. And we are
now hard charging towards uh the Christmas holiday. And so
we basically have a couple of weeks here where we're
all hands on deck and then it's gonna get pretty
(09:44):
pretty wild. And Lucy goosey with regard to our programming,
when do you start wearing a Santa outfit to work
every day?
Speaker 2 (09:51):
Probably tomorrow? All right, No, I always hear this at
this time of year.
Speaker 1 (09:55):
People are like, you know, there's this one radio station
that just starts playing Christmas songs every year right around
this time. They banded in their format and they only
play Christmas songs and they're number one by far. The
hall there right now, right? Which one is it?
Speaker 2 (10:09):
One or two? One?
Speaker 6 (10:11):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (10:11):
Yeah, you don't have to go in the hall. Now,
go in the hall, Kevin, you don't have to go
in the hall. See you tomorrow.
Speaker 5 (10:16):
It's been on them in the hall for like the
past two weeks.
Speaker 1 (10:19):
Oh yeah, Ben was off Aul last week, so we
missed it. It was banging in the already started.
Speaker 2 (10:24):
No no, no, no, no, no, Sis. It's uh just
siriaus song.
Speaker 1 (10:34):
Isn't that what McConaughey does in his one scene in
Wolf of Wall Street?
Speaker 2 (10:42):
Okay, so it was only catching the sun coming through
the window and blinding eye.
Speaker 1 (10:51):
Understand if that's so wildly successful, why doesn't every station
just do Christmas for turn cuts?
Speaker 2 (10:57):
And why not do it in June? Well, then you
water down, I mean everyone can be first. What do
you mean then you water it down? Well, we water
it down.
Speaker 3 (11:05):
If every station starts doing Christmas, then then it's not
that big of a hit anymore.
Speaker 2 (11:09):
So it just ends up coming back to this.
Speaker 1 (11:12):
I think that's a true sign of what people's favorite
frequency is is if everyone's playing Christmas, which one rises
to the town he tested out cream rises right now,
there's only one, right, I think? Okay, so at least
you would think there would be a handful of them.
Speaker 4 (11:28):
Yeah, right, doesn't Kalty do Christmas music?
Speaker 2 (11:32):
I mean Jesus music.
Speaker 1 (11:34):
If we play Christmas return cuts, will we suddenly be
have unbelievable ratings just because the return cuts? Well, we
play three minutes of return cuts every quarter hour.
Speaker 3 (11:46):
Yeah, I think the star audience now, uh huh one
O two one uh our brother sister station. I think
they're conditioned to know what happens. Yeah, so who's that condition?
Is the idea that they just get people to flock
to them in December and then like we should do
(12:08):
something like that, then just play all American songs in July.
Speaker 2 (12:12):
But it's.
Speaker 1 (12:14):
Okay, that is, But the idea, it's it's I think
it's the same deal as the idea is like the
reason you would broadcast Cowboy games.
Speaker 2 (12:24):
It's a loss leader.
Speaker 1 (12:25):
You are not going to make money on that deal
because Jerry is going to have his way with your soul, right,
so he's going to own you in that transaction. But
the idea The reason like a station like the Fan
would carry the Cowboys is so you listen to the
Cowboy game on a Sunday and then you go to
work on Monday and you turn your radio on. Here go, Yeah,
it's already on there because it was on the game
when I parked at my house on Sunday night.
Speaker 2 (12:46):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (12:47):
Well, I think to your point though, oh, there should
be a station that only plays seasonal music, right, I
think it would dominate how much some of the stuff.
I'm okay, there's a good Halloween music yep. Then what
Valentine romantic music in February? Okay, well, let's just go
(13:07):
through the calendar. Okay, what are you doing in January?
Speaker 2 (13:10):
President songs?
Speaker 1 (13:11):
Yeah, because the President's Day all presidential songs.
Speaker 2 (13:15):
Your rad is gonna suck.
Speaker 1 (13:16):
Be a tough one, a lot of okay, February Valentine's
love songs, March, the Irish Yep, April songs about rain, Easter,
the Quiet Storm.
Speaker 2 (13:33):
Right, you know you got already got.
Speaker 1 (13:35):
I don't think there's a lot of Eastern music. There
is either, but I think there's a lot of rain, okay,
and a lot of songs about eggs that way.
Speaker 3 (13:42):
May is May is uh songs about come on brother,
don't turn your back on our tono friends.
Speaker 1 (13:50):
Oh yeah, all indigenous music, okay.
Speaker 2 (13:56):
June, so then you get into summer summer.
Speaker 1 (13:59):
June, July summer's summer, and then July is patriotic music.
August back to school music. Yeah, yeah, yeah, it till August.
September NFL Films Music NFL. Oh my god, have y'all
(14:23):
watched any of the Madden EA documentary.
Speaker 2 (14:27):
I haven't three documentaries.
Speaker 1 (14:29):
I didn't even know it was on what So I
guess if you, I guess if you go to bed
and you've left it on Netflix or Amazon or whatever.
Speaker 2 (14:39):
I think this is on Amazon.
Speaker 3 (14:40):
Amazon.
Speaker 1 (14:40):
Yeah, my wife is watching something on Amazon. Fell asleep.
So the next time I turned on my TV, I
guess it had just ran through everything, and suddenly it
was firing up this Madden EA documentary and I was
half paying attention to it, and the fifteen minutes I
saw of it was amazing.
Speaker 2 (14:57):
It's great. Where is it? It's on Amazon's on? I
think it's coach. It's about the game.
Speaker 1 (15:04):
Let me god, and let me just say that the guy,
the main driving force behind getting Madden going is an
uber nerdy, black gay man. I'm serious, dude, And he
was talking about his experience and he was the driving
and he's the biggest nerd you have ever seen in
your life. And he was doing gangster stuff like they
(15:27):
didn't have a deal with the Players Association and when
they shipped off the cartridge, he just went ahead and
put all the names in there, so they had to
work a deal out.
Speaker 2 (15:35):
It's it's okay, awesome, I'm in on that.
Speaker 1 (15:37):
I did watch the yacht Rock documentary and it was
so good, isn't it fun?
Speaker 2 (15:42):
I couldn't believe how good it was. Have you watched
the yet, Christina?
Speaker 5 (15:45):
I'm getting to.
Speaker 2 (15:47):
You're watching it tonight? Yeah, so y'all good for tomorrow?
It's up to her and there.
Speaker 5 (15:52):
Oh yeah yeah.
Speaker 1 (15:55):
Also have been watching land Man, Okay, what is that
a documentary about? And I will say it's better than
I thought. Now that there's the one character I can't
stand as the high school girl in the one conversation
of the cant that conversation. I can't believe that happened.
She's the one that needs to wear the raincoat. But
Billy Billy, Billy Thornton explain that joke.
Speaker 4 (16:20):
I think I got it and hence the Jesus right
after he said it.
Speaker 1 (16:23):
Yesterday we Binge watched A Man on the Inside on
Netflix Ted Dancing.
Speaker 2 (16:30):
I heard this is good. It's Mike sure, so it's
gonna be really good. It's who is that. He's the
guy who made Parks and Wrack, he helped make the office.
Speaker 1 (16:37):
Okay, it's very much Ted Lasso vibes like, but it's
it's really positive and it's really good. And you know
it is the Chip from Always Sonny, isn't it. The girlfriend? No,
not sweet Toeed. The other girl that I can think
her name was girlfriend in it they he wanted her
to be as Charlie wanted coffee. Oh yeah, I haven't
(16:59):
seen her in anything.
Speaker 5 (17:00):
She's a new girls.
Speaker 2 (17:01):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (17:02):
The waitress, Yeah, the waitress exactly. And Sally Struthers let's go.
I bet she's in great shape. Hey man, I've just
met emotional right, so she's saving some dogs on there.
We watched we all have probably watched some good content.
So over the course of the next two weeks before
(17:23):
we go on vacation or three weeks, we'll be rolling
that out. Just let all of you listeners know what
you should have on your eyeball radar. All right, Coming
up next for the Hollywood Shuffle, We're gonna take it
to music.
Speaker 2 (17:34):
We're you gonna take us, Katy.
Speaker 3 (17:35):
We had a huge concert announcement this morning. Guys, show
filled trip coming. We'll tell you where next, all right,
