Speaker 1 (00:04):
Great Freedom Florida. This is the Brian Mushow. We are
on standby for Florida's news. CFO and Chief Iire and
Marshall Blazon Golia and will bring you protecting the Palm Beaches.
Tribute to those who serve and sacrifice brought to you
by the Good Greek Spirau and Good Greek moving in storage.
(00:25):
We appreciate the support the weekly story that is a
dedicated tribute to those who have literally laid down their
lives in service to our communities, but also as remindered
for the rest of us of just the risk and
the danger that's out there for those who do put
on the badge, leave their families in service every day,
never knowing what will happen next and Saturdy. Last year
we saw a huge increase in the line of duty
(00:46):
debts and of officers shot.
Speaker 2 (00:48):
In the line of duty. This year, we have thankfully
seen a lower pace. The total LEDs last year one
hundred and sixty five aid in Florida. As of now
forty three LEDs with two in Florida. And as we
take a look at our most recent losses, first a
word from Vorderzar Tom Homan. As we've had a greater
(01:10):
than eight fold increase in attacks on ice officers.
Speaker 3 (01:14):
Do you throw a stone at an ice vehicle, We're
gonna get out, We're gonna rest you, We're gonna prosecute you.
Do you put a hands on ice offer zero tolerance.
Do you put a hand on officer, You're going to jail.
Speaker 2 (01:24):
Amen. Needed to happen, needed to happen. And as we
take a look at those we have lost over the
past week, one actually was a death that occurred in
May that has just recently been classified as a line
of duty death. This did happen in Santa Rosa, Florida,
where Sergeant Alton Baron died due to complications from a
(01:46):
heart attack he suffered after assisting a disabled motorist in
moving their vehicle out of a busy roadway. Alton survived
by his wife and four children. In New Mexico, Deputy
Antonio Ellman was killed in a while on patrol. Antonio
survived by his wife and two children. And as we
(02:06):
honor those we've lost, always remember the families as well.
In addition to the average officer fall and being only
forty one years old with eleven years of service, you
have twenty four widows and fifty seven children who have
lost a parent. So Wickler reminded back the badge and
spread the word, because Lord knows they need us every
bit as much as we need them.
