Speaker 2 (00:18):
Time now for today's top three takeaways. President Trump's Plan.
It's coming together. It's coming together.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
I mean, what an incredible ride we are set up
for today. What an incredible weekend was. Hope you had
a wonderful weekend. Yes, it's very soggy that we absolutely
need the rain, and the man just phenomenal, Like everything
from the Trump administration over the weekend. I don't know
that any of us have had a weekend that's ever

(00:45):
been as good as the one Trump just put in.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
Not quite.

Speaker 3 (00:48):
No, I did get this chance to spend some time
with my mom, of course for Mother's Day. That's nice
and that was really nice. But I have to say
I think Trump might win.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
I think so too.

Speaker 1 (00:57):
And Ashley and I had a phenomenal time with her
mom yesterday. And still, I mean, just Trump running circles
around all of us. Let me dive into my top
takeaway today is Trump's plan is coming together.

Speaker 4 (01:11):
US trade talk negotiators are cheering on a quote great
deal of productivity in their talks with China. Its Treasury
Secretary Scottssent says substantial progress has been made after two
days of bargaining talks in Switzerland.

Speaker 1 (01:25):
Sure enough, and I'll bring you the details of that
here momentary, let's dive in. So yeah, wow, the weekend
last week, late in the week came the news of
the first major trade deald come together with the UK.
Shortly thereafter, and response to our White House correspondent John Decker,
the President mentioned that three more deals were in the

(01:46):
works to quickly be completed. Which, by the way, as
we're talking about this Chinese trade thing, there's more right
behind this, because again the three more deals that were
quickly to be completed didn't. Those weren't referencing China. So
I mean a lot's going to happen here fast. But
about China, the trade partner with which we have had

(02:07):
our biggest trade deficit. President Trump trued this message in
the morning yesterday. He said, a very good meeting today
with China in Switzerland. Many things discussed, much agreed to
a total reset. Total reset. That's significant. I'm gonna come
back to the point, total reset negotiated in a friendly

(02:29):
but constructive manner. We want to see for the good
of both China and the US an opening up of
China to American business. Great progress, made three exclamation points.
So yeah, sure sounded as though Treasury Secretary of Scop
Descents meeting was about as good as it could have been.

(02:49):
And it was about one o'clock this morning our time
that it wasn't announced that the reciprocal tariff rate would
be reduced by a hundred in fifteen percent between the
United States and China. So for the next ninety days
while a permanent trade deals hammered out, the tariff rate
coming down by one hundred and fifteen percent on both ends.

(03:12):
What this means is the Chinese tariff rate immediately goes
to ten percent for good US goods into China. The
tariff rate for Chinese goods into the United States goes
down to thirty percent. That's obviously a hugely important piece
of the Trump trade plan coming together. But that wasn't

(03:34):
the only foreign policy deal being broken by the Trump administration.
Over the weekend, Trump brokeered a ceasefire deal between Indy
and Pakistan, and that wasn't even necessarily the biggest de
escalation that Team Trump had a hand in. Quoting Trump yesterday,
he said, a potentially great day for Russia and Ukraine.
Think of the hundreds of thousands of lives that will

(03:54):
be saved as this never ending bloodbath hopefully comes to
an end. It will be a whole new and much
better war. I will continue to work with both sides
to make sure it happens. The USA wants to focus
instead on rebuilding and trade.

Speaker 2 (04:08):
A big week upcoming. Boy, he wasn't kidding.

Speaker 1 (04:11):
So yes, then we have the news that Ukrainian President
Zelenski would meet with Russian President Putin this week, that's
scheduled for Thursday.

Speaker 2 (04:18):
And then steal isn't done.

Speaker 1 (04:20):
But wait, there's more, because we also have the news
that Hamas would release the last American hostage today. So
there's just great news NonStop all throughout the weekend. So
about that. Before I get to my second takeaway today,
here's some color on the meeting between the impaler In Zelensky.
Ashley Stromayra on the.

Speaker 5 (04:41):
Report, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenski agrees to meet face to
face with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Turkey. Putin initially
proposed the Thursday meeting, trying to create lasting peace. President
Trump helped persuade Zelenski to join in theom's talks.

Speaker 1 (04:56):
Yeah, there you go. So you got Putin and the Punk.
Don't begin to get I think Joel out of that
one like that Putin in the punk. Yeah, I mean
it pretty much fits. I really upset a lib who
masquerades as being a moderate reaches out to me every
once in a while. When I called Lensky a punk
for the way that he reacted in the Oval Office, which,

(05:18):
by the way, anybody goes in the of office and
I don't care who the president is and acts like
that is a punk.

Speaker 2 (05:23):
Respect. You got to have respect, Yeah, for the office,
that's right. You don't pull that crap.

Speaker 1 (05:27):
So especially when we've given you hundreds of billions of
dollars and he came and tell us where it went.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
I mean, just punk.

Speaker 1 (05:33):
So, yes, Putin and the Punk getting together on Thursday.
My second takeaway for you today the total reset of trade.
A lot of attention was paid to Trump's use of
the term total reset of trade as people attempting to
discern what it might mean kind of dove into things. Well,
I already addressed this very thing. If you're wondering what

(05:55):
about the total reset, I told you this is what
was happening in my Top three Takeaways on April fourth,
which was right after Liberation Day, leaving Joel with PTSD
to this very moment, I see him shaking his head, laughing.

Speaker 2 (06:12):
Joel was feeling very uptight.

Speaker 1 (06:13):
He was feeling bound, stomach in knots, little chest, heaviness
that covered jewelers.

Speaker 2 (06:22):
There more to it.

Speaker 3 (06:23):
I may have needed the senecat okay.

Speaker 1 (06:27):
So it was on April fourth that I said this.
The United States of America is the second leading manufacturer
in the world, and yet the United States has the
largest trade deficit in the world.

Speaker 2 (06:37):
Does that make any sense?

Speaker 1 (06:39):
And that's how unfair trade has been and why the
only way to restore balance long term sustainability to the
US economy is through a dramatic reset of the way
that we do things. American multinational companies were concerned with
pushing DEI policies while they were prioritizing using slave labor
to produce their products unsustainably. They weren't just hypocrites, they

(06:59):
were short sighted. Our great adversary in the world's biggest
threat is China. It was Apple's choice to have ninety
five percent their iphon's iPads aerpods max manufactured there, and
of course they're far from alone. There will be winners
and losers as Trump's great reset shakes out, and those
who prioritize sustainabilding in their constituency will be winners in

(07:20):
the shift, as Americans sellouts will be left scrambling to
attempt to try to figure out what it is they're
going to do. Trump has brought about a great reset
to correct the great reset that of the Dabos crowd,
and will be better off in the end that he did.
The getting there likely to continue to be a bit bumpy,
and as we know it was for a few weeks
right there is a fair amount of bumpyists after Liberation Day.

(07:46):
Now now you can feel liberated, especially to take a
look what the stock market will do today.

Speaker 2 (07:51):
That's a liberation.

Speaker 1 (07:53):
And as as we've seen, right down to the Apple
example I cited, companies did scramble sixty percent shelveed their
DEI policies. Apples moves all of its iPhone production from
China to India. The reset has been on, with much
more falling into place this week. And before we get
to my third takeaway today, the other news I was

(08:15):
referencing about the American hostage Fox's Jonathan Savage here.

Speaker 6 (08:20):
Idan Alexander, who was raised in New Jersey, was serving
in the Israeli Army when he was captured by Hamas
during the attack of October seventh, twenty twenty three. Hamas
says it'll free the twenty one year old today after
almost six hundred days in captivity. Alexander's planned release comes
after talks with the United States, Egypt, and Cutter. These

(08:41):
part of efforts to get a ceasefire in the Gaza War,
along with the release of all remaining hostages.

Speaker 1 (08:47):
All right, and by the way, things went so well
with Cutter over the weekend that they're like, hey, and
we'll donate a jumbo jetfre air Force one and.

Speaker 2 (08:58):
Have this too.

Speaker 1 (08:58):
It's like, didn't see that one coming. So Trump working
on the turch. I don't know it's going to be
like the official Air Force one, but it does look
like it might be like the new Trump Force plane
or part of the Trump Force. After it's then being
President like the library. You might see the Trump Force

(09:21):
jumbo jet that's being donated at the beautiful new library
in South Florida.

Speaker 2 (09:27):
Once it's built, the big, beautiful library big.

Speaker 3 (09:30):
Some may say it'll be the most beautiful and biggest
presidential library in history.

Speaker 1 (09:34):
I think there is a great chance that's the case.
I don't Trump being involved. I think the limitations will
only be the university that it's located in. The Otherwise, yes,
taj Mahal might not have anything on the Trump Library,
but anyway, My third takeaway for you today, good morning.
Hope it is treating you well as we get through
my top three takeaways. Trump's incredible weekend, the incredible shrinking deficit.

(09:59):
Speaking of the things I did not expect to see,
this one of the most remarkable things that's happened over
the past week. How quickly we've seen the US deficit shrink.
As a reason was Washington Examiner analysis notes due to
a combination of doge in President Trump's and post tariffs.
The US deficit how much do you think it's shrunk by?

Speaker 3 (10:18):
I had I had to guess around thirty five percent,
and that'd be a lot.

Speaker 1 (10:21):
Because if it's shrunk by thirty five percent. That'd be
one hundreds of billions annualized. That'd be great, oh much better.
The US trade deficit has shrunk by ninety two. It's
almost gone. Through tariffs and dozing. Tariffs and dozing almost
the entire federal deficit gone.

Speaker 2 (10:44):
Huge news.

Speaker 1 (10:45):
As Congress continues to debate what will be a President
Trump's BBB Trump's plan, It's coming together. Figures to be
a truly great, perhaps historic week,
