Speaker 1 (00:04):
Welcome to the Brian mund Show, and thank you for listening.
It's time for today's top three takeaways. Helpful, useful, repeatable.
Speaker 2 (00:13):
Yeah, so the end of the shutdown and chuck you
plus Obamacare it is a healthcare crisis. My top three
takeaways for you today. My top takeaway is.
Speaker 1 (00:29):
The end is nine. The end is nine.
Speaker 2 (00:35):
You had Hakeem Jefferies talking about the end at one
o'clock in the morning.
Speaker 1 (00:41):
At the end of the day, the fight lives on. Okay,
pumped up by that rangel the end of the day.
You know what they call him? Okay, dollar store Obama. Okay, yeah,
I mean definitely. You say TMO Obama, you'd be like, wow, same, Yeah,
(01:05):
you know, I guess a little worse than dollar Store Obama.
Speaker 2 (01:07):
I suppose that would imply and paid for by China.
I'm not so sure Obama wasn't.
Speaker 1 (01:13):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:14):
I'd have to do some research on that one. I'm
sure there are probably some chi comp ties there somewhere.
But so yeah, that was the King Jeffries. As the
House Rules Committee passed the continuing resolution through and now
it goes to the full House for a vote today.
So as we talked about the NBING nine. It is
(01:35):
true of the partial government shutdown as it is now
day forty three, and it's appearing to be true. As
far as the political career of the shutdown architect, it's
looking worse for that guy by the day.
Speaker 1 (01:51):
Now.
Speaker 2 (01:52):
First thing about the shutdown status so mentioned last night,
you have the House Rules Committee a fast tracked the
sent it's continuing resolution to reopen the federal governm. Full
House votes on it today, and while the GOP margin
in the House remains small, what's clear is that the
outcome of today's vote not going to be Not only
is the GOP majority set to vote for the resolution,
does appear possible to some Democrats in swing districts made too,
(02:17):
So should that all play out, President Trump is at
the ready to sign it into law right away, and
so this has us on track for the full federal
government reopening to take place on Thursday. But as the
government said to reopen, what is clear Democrats have a
significantly diminished leader. The highest elected Democrat in this country
(02:40):
is none other the demand that Rush limbad nicknamed you.
You're talking about Chuck you as in yes, Chuck U
Schumer and as Rush looks down from above. He's probably
laughing at the extent to which Old Chuck has lived
up to that name. The whole shutdown really was nothing
(03:01):
more than a screw you to President drum Right and
by proxy, to the federal government employees everyone else in
society who was impacted by this thing.
Speaker 1 (03:11):
The entire strategy.
Speaker 2 (03:12):
Going in was to demand an extension of the socialist era,
and by that a talking about COVID, the socialist era
Obamacare tax credits that bropped up the unaffordable ACA plans
(03:33):
by shifty ninety two percent of the cost ninety two
percent or five thousand, seven hundred and twenty seven dollars
per plan from the people actually using those plans under you.
In addition, Schumer demanded an end too the recently reactivated
Medicaid work requirements, which simply say that in order for
(03:55):
able bodied people, working should be something that is possible.
If you are a working age or able body, how
about you do something not a lot, even how about
twenty hours a week you work?
Speaker 1 (04:14):
It's just too much a lot to ask, it is,
or okay, so you it's too much to ask. How
about volunteering?
Speaker 2 (04:21):
Then? Will you volunteer for if you if working for
twenty hours a week is too much, could you at
least volunteer.
Speaker 1 (04:27):
For twenty hours a week? I don't know, man, so
volunteering an option?
Speaker 2 (04:35):
There is?
Speaker 1 (04:37):
How about you educate yourself for twenty hours a week?
Oh I forget that. Volunteering almost sounds better. Why do I?
Why do I detect? There's too much reality in this? Oh? God?
Speaker 2 (04:53):
So anyway, at least you work over twenty hours a week.
And and the reason why that is a problem those
Medicaid work requirements where you have to work for at
least twenty hours a week, volunteer for twenty hours a week,
or receive education for at least twenty hours a week
is a problem to Democrats is because my second takeaway today,
(05:14):
the Democrat Party has decided to super serve losers in
life who choose to be slugs. By the way, there's one.
There are a number of people that have taken exception
to that. When I've said it, I've sent on the
national shows too, and it just.
Speaker 1 (05:28):
It hits start of able. Are they just slugs? Well?
Speaker 2 (05:31):
And probably, but there's actually there's one listener in this
audience in particular who has really got other worldly with
me been around for a while. I don't know if
still is told me around this time. I don't listen
to you as much as I used to. I was
truck to the guy did I mean, he hasn't made
sense in over a decade, but I appreciate him being there.
Speaker 1 (05:49):
I'm like, you know, somewhere along the way.
Speaker 2 (05:50):
Usually, if you're exposed to me for a long periods
of time, you begin to make sense. This gentleman has not,
and really really took offense to me, calling people who
were opposed to Medicaid work requirements the people that would
receive them without those in placed slugs. And this is
(06:12):
why I've decided to double down on that, Because if
you are of working age, if you are able bodied,
and you choose not to work at least twenty hours
per week, volunteer for at least twenty hours per week,
or at least educate yourself for twenty hours a week,
you are a loser in life who has chosen to
be a slug. And the last thing any American should
(06:33):
have to do is pay for anything for you. Ever,
you're not willing to help yourself in the least, you
are an unproductive slug. And by the way, this guy
tried to use God with me too. You might you
might dent the bibyl because you know what the bibbul says.
The Bibbil says that God likes hard work. He wanted
(06:54):
you actually do you know what twenty hours forget that,
you know that you're supposed to work, Gordon God six
days a week.
Speaker 1 (07:03):
Six wow?
Speaker 2 (07:05):
Wow Joel again, well, too much reality here for you.
That's why you have a day of rest among the seven. Now,
not to get overly technical law here on this, but
you're that's when that comes to your folks will recognize
that on Saturday.
Speaker 1 (07:22):
My folks recognize that on Saturday.
Speaker 2 (07:24):
I know I know that much so just the the
Old versus the New Testament aspect of that point out there.
But yes, it's because the other six days you're actually
supposed to be doing something productive with your life. So
before you, you know, the people go, you're you're you
call yourself a Christian? Yeah, I do dent the bibble
(07:45):
so h.
Speaker 1 (07:46):
Republican Brendan gil had this to say.
Speaker 3 (07:50):
Democrats utterly apoplectic that we are reopening the government, that
we're getting air traffic controllers paid, that we're getting TSA
agents paid, that we're getting the government working back for
the American people as it should be.
Speaker 2 (08:03):
Okay, so yes, In the end, Schumer did not get
either of his demands, the socialist era Abamacare tax credits
or the slug assistance.
Speaker 1 (08:23):
Now.
Speaker 2 (08:24):
One of the set of Democrats who peeled off to
vote for an end to the shutdown, mainz Angus King
said this to The Morning Schmoe yesterday, and talking about
the Democrats stated shutdown goals, he said, the problem was
the shutdown wasn't accomplishing either of the goals, and there
was zero likelihood that it was going to zero likelihood
(08:48):
that it was going Okay. He went on to say
the shutdown only gave President Trump more power. Okay, Now
he's right, But it's also fair to ask, if there
was zero likelihood that Schumer's tactic was going to work,
why did he and his fellow donkeys forced the longest
shutdown in American history as opposed to I don't know,
just joining with the Republicans. They eventually voted went to
end the stupid shutdown. Why didn't they do that originally
(09:09):
or anyone where along the way. With all those votes
that took place, but in any.
Speaker 1 (09:14):
Event, while they apparently got what they.
Speaker 2 (09:16):
Wanted last Tuesday, election Day, Democrats were the clear losers
of the shutdown, generally, no more so than Chuck. You
the knives are out for Schumer from all sides. The
party has become open season on him for his absolute
failure and forcing the shutdown from the beginning, and the
irony is that many have suspected Schumer's approach has been
(09:38):
guided by a perceived need to protect himself from his left,
namely a potential Senate challenge from AOC that could be forthcoming.
But by enacting the policies and stances of the radical
left that in this.
Speaker 1 (09:54):
Instance just resist, we resist.
Speaker 2 (09:58):
You know, it's like the political verse should have just
chaining yourself to a tree or something. We resist bad orangeman,
We're just gonna chain ourselves to I don't know, something
Orangemen wouldn't like. I mean that would be democracy, Yeah, exactly,
(10:20):
he doesn't like it. Right, But by doing that, as
opposed to actually representing the interests of constituents, Chuck may
have done himself in Currently, Chuck Schumer's favorability rating and
the Real Clear Politics average of polls, what do you
think it stands at how many people take a look
(10:40):
at Chuck Schumer and go, now there's a guy.
Speaker 1 (10:44):
Make it a whole lot of sense. Right now, that's
somebody that Yeah, that's got to be I'm with him,
I'm with Chuck. It's got to be hovering around thirty percent. Yeah,
you have to look up from where Chuck is to
get to thirty.
Speaker 2 (10:58):
So by comparison, by comparison, Joe Biden looks down right popular,
and Biden left the office in the thirties. Chuck is
at twenty seven twenty seven percent. So there's the old
saying that if you do what's right, the rest will
take care of itself. Well, when you choose to do
what's wrong, I kind of has a way of taking
care of itself too. The shutdown was the beginning of
(11:20):
the end for all Chuck you in other news, but
related to this guy. My third takeaway today, Obamacare is
the healthcare crisis. Here's the man himself. Here is Chuck
and what he said when he voted no in the Senate.
Speaker 4 (11:41):
I must vote no. This healthcare crisis is so severe,
so urgent, so devastating for families back home, that I
cannot in good faith support this cr that that fails
to address the healthcare crisis?
Speaker 1 (11:58):
What is the healthcare crisis? What is just so diar here.
Speaker 2 (12:06):
The man literally said, this health care crisis is so severe,
This healthcare crisis is so urgent, it's so devastating that
I cannot in good faith support this. What is the
healthcare crisis? Is he talking about Obama Gare? Because that's
(12:30):
what the we have to have, the socialism, we have
to have the socialist era ninety two percent subsidies in perpetuity,
or it's a healthcare crisis. Nobody is pointing this out,
by the way, which I find to be beyond remarkable.
(12:51):
Chuck Schumer, in his own words, for anybody who connects
one dot to another one in the straight line, by
the way, it's not even like, you know, this is you know,
some kind of puzzle where you have to find where
the other dot's going to go.
Speaker 1 (13:03):
No, just connect one dot to the other.
Speaker 2 (13:05):
Chuck Schumer has literally called Obamacare the fraud, that it
is a crisis so urgent, so severe, and so devastating
that unless ninety two percent of it is paid for
by people who don't use those policies, we just can't
(13:25):
go on.
Speaker 1 (13:29):
Now.
Speaker 2 (13:30):
Never mind the fact that he of course voted to
create it in the first place. But it's the ultimate
illustration of how this is a fraud, was always a fraud,
and how I'll chuck you it's a fraud too,
