(00:56):
a Friday. My name is CraigWay. Glad to have you with us,
always pleased to have you alongside theproducer of the program, Cameron D.
Parker, normally Cameron Dallas Parker. That that's the D stands on.
It stands for because his dad wasa big Dallas Cowboys fan, and Cam
became one as well and proclaimed hisfaith to the Cowboys, at least up

(01:23):
until last season. Now he sayshe's not going to watch him, but
we'll still follow and we'll see howall of that works out. Camp will
join us in a few minutes fromOklahoma City. Because he's not producing the
program today. He has been inOklahoma City throughout the course of this week,
calling the action of the Round RockExpress, who split a doubleheader last
night in Okac with the in OklahomaCity with the OKAC Baseball Club. He's

(01:46):
got one more game he'll be doingtonight. He'll be back in town on
Monday. But throughout the course ofthis week, our producer has been the
inimitable Cole Dixon, He of NorthernCalifornia. Who's with us? Now?
How are you doing today? Doinggreat? Happy Friday? We made it.
Yeah, we made it somehow, some way cruise through. Actually,

(02:07):
when you enjoy your work, aswe enjoy our workdays just kind of fly
by anyway. So it was good. So I hope it's off to a
good start for you. We havea lot to get to on the program
today. Let me start with thefact that today's National Donut Day. First
Friday in June every year is NationalDonut Day. I've had a lot of

(02:30):
people over the years when I broughtthis up, asked me about why not
not necessarily just National Donut Day itself, but you know, why are some
days designated National whatever Day, NationalTomato Soup Day, and the national be
nice to your neighbor Day, Nationaltake your dog to work Day, you

(02:55):
know those kinds of things. Whocomes up with that? And the answer
is, I don't know, otherthan maybe there's a registry for such things
and they say, hey, Ilike to register cream puffs. Okay,
National cream Puff Day August sixteenth isavailable. Do you want that one?
You know? Who makes the decisionon that? I don't know, and

(03:17):
I don't think it really matters much. But today is National Donut Day.
I remembered this from last year thatit's the first Friday in the month of
June. So that's why today,June seventh, is National Donut Day.
So it floats. It's not acalendar marked day. It's it's it's like

(03:38):
some might say it's like Easter oryou know, something like that. It's
it's it's it's a floating day onthat It's not a date on the calendar.
It's a day, which brings meto the annual question of your favorite
donut, your favorite donut place. Now, you can offer that up on

(03:58):
our text line. You can offerthat up on our text line and the
text line. All you do istext the word Texas follow by your question
or comment to eight one five threezero. You text the word Texas follow
by your question or comment to eightone five three zero. Standard messaging and
data rates may apply. And youcan you can tell us what's your favorite

(04:24):
donut and your favorite donut place, because there's big debate in this town.
You know, whether it's Round RockDonuts or Shipley Donuts, or Krispy Kreme
or you know some some other donut. Some people like to chain Daylight Donuts.
You know, there's different different ones. There might be a little independent
spot that you like. I amcurious to get your submission, Cole Dix,

(04:46):
because you're not of this state. And how many years have you lived
here? Not a lot or fouryear old? Okay, so that's still
a nice smaller representative sample. Sodo you have a favorite kind of donut?
Not not brand, but first ofall a favorite flavor, favorite style?

(05:06):
Yeah, I'm big on the mapleor the twist. Okay, you
like the twist? Yeah? Yeah, okay, that's good, maple lised
and cinnamon twist. And the placeif you're going to a your go to
donut emporium would be Kyle's Donuts andKyle Oh okay, it's right by me.
They do great, you know.So they do it like it's a

(05:28):
guy who's name, like Kyle's Donuts. It's not just like Kyle Donuts because
it's in Kyle. It's like Kylelike apostrophe. Yes, but occasionally,
if I am up in the roundRock area, I will make the trip
to round Rock Donuts. Okay, okay, all right, very good,
very good, my my. Ilike things that are cream filled. Okay,

(05:48):
Creamfield candies, Creamfield pies, youknow, banana cream pie, things
like that. I like Creamfield donuts. I mean is it always makes me
think of did you ever see themovie The Lion King, the animated Okay,
remember when they're when when Simba likeleaves in the out of fear and
disgrace and humiliation. He leaves thelions and he goes and he's living in

(06:11):
the jungle with Timone and Pumba, and they say, I like the little
cream field once where they eat thethe caterpillars. I always think about that
afterwards. They like a good There'sdifferent ways to describe Duncan calls him Boston
Cream uh and and uh, Ithink Krispy Kreme just calls him chocolate ice

(06:32):
cream Field whatever someone's with the chocolateicing and the and the custard cream in
the middle. That's probably my favorite. I really like those. I do
like a good blueberry cake donut though, and it's and and if you're just
getting regular glazed done it obviously, rolling off the rack hot at Krispy Kream
is great, and the fresh onesat Round Rock Donuts are fabulous. Uh.

(06:53):
Shipley Donuts has uh this one donutI like called the Bull's Eye,
which is like white cream in themiddle and as a little chocolate bean on
the top of a little whipperm thingthere on the top. So I have
a weakness for that as well.So anyway, if you have a favorite
flavor of donut and a favorite placeto get your donut, you can give

(07:13):
it a shout out and we'll findout about that. The other things to
other things to keep track of obviouslyGame one of the NBA Finals last night
and Boston shudwy. They were thebest team in the league last night,
and we'll get some breakdown on thatcoming up. With the Celtics beating the

(07:39):
Mavericks, in game one. Gametwo of courses coming up on Saturday or
Sunday Sunday. It's coming up onSunday and game two, Game one of
the Stanley Cup Finals is tomorrow nightbetween Edmonton and Florida. But there was
anyway there was. It was prettysound. And even though when it got

(08:01):
cut from twenty eight to eight, when the Mavericks made their big push,
Luka Anchich had a lot to dowith that. The Celtics had the ready
response. So we'll get to that. We'll talk some about that. Also,
this is NCAA Baseball Super Regional Gameweekend. There's one game underway.
How much of a game right now? Florida State is pounding Yukon in game

(08:26):
one of their super Regional series inTallahassee. But we'll keep you up there
and we'll kind of get an overviewof what to expect of these super regions.
Keith Morland our broadcast partner, quiteoff on the road and of course
low these many years doing the broadcastwith REGs Wendell on Longhorn Network all the
way through this final season Long WornNetwork, and Keith worked the regional in

(08:48):
Norman, Oklahoma last week. He'salso gonna work the Little League World Series
regional games in Waco, the Southwestregion. He does that every year,
so he'll be working that. Keithwill visit with us in the three o'clock
hour and we'll talk about these superregionals who he likes, expects when,
so on and so forth, sowe'll get his we'll get his thoughts on

(09:09):
it. We do have Inconceivable comingup this hour now, Cole, since
you were dragged into this role thisweek, Vold, yeah, voluntold,
Yeah, since you were, Sinceyou were, since you were, I
need a volunteer. Oh you good? All right, you're probably not aware
of this. Do you know whatwe do within Conceivable on Friday? No?

(09:31):
Okay, it's a standard inconceivable, same music that we play, and
we you know, when we rollthrough some fast food notes if we have
that, and then we've got someother topics as well. But also and
it started when Cameron and I andwhen you were as well over at the
other place. But we used todo a thing Jeff Howan I did called

(09:54):
Florida Man Friday, so we wouldget to some details of stories coming from
as our old paladav how used tosay the most flaccid of the lower forty
eight states to reach for the lowhanging fruit that is Florida Man. And

(10:16):
we've got two Florida Man stories thatwe'll get to. So we've got that
this afternoon as well. So there'sa lot to get to obviously. Also
the recap of the end of TexasLong Horn softball season. You know,
great, great year perhaps and waslistening to Andrew Haynes last night on the
call. In the end, maybethe most successful season in Longhorn softball history.

(10:41):
In fact, that's say it probablywas a matched the team record for
wins with fifty five. They reachedthe National Championship Series for the second time
in three years, but unfortunately, for the second time in three years,
they were swept by Oklahoma. Theyhowever, earned their first ever overall number
one national season. They won theBig Twelve conference regular season title in their

(11:03):
final season the Big Twelve. Sothere were a lot of great things out
of the season. It did, unfortunately end in disappointing fashion with the two
losses that they had to Oklahoma. We'll hear from Mike White, We'll hear
from Long one players that's coming upas well, So we'll have a recap
of all of that as well.So Cam Parker will join us coming up,
and we've got college baseball to getto NBA Finals. We'll find out

(11:28):
from Cam how things are rolling inOklahoma City. He went to the Burger
place that we suggested to him.I was gonna check in on that idea
to the Burger place. So we'llget the review of Nick Grill from that
coming up when we continue here onsports Radio AM thirteen under the zone of
