Speaker 1 (00:00):
Good afternoon, everybody. Welcome to a Friday edition of the
program here on Sports Radio AM thirteen under the Zone.
My name is Craig Way. Glad to have you with
us alongside. As I always say, if Friday means the
traditional Friday thing of the advent of the weekend for you,
good on you, good for you.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
Hope it leads off well for you.

Speaker 1 (00:17):
For those of you whom Friday might only be your Wednesday, or,
for Evans sake, your Monday, Hopefully things go well for
you and you'll launch it all from there. Glad to
have you with us. Friday's kind of a combination for
those of us, especially in football season. US includes the
producer of this program, Cameron D.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
Parker.

Speaker 1 (00:35):
The D on the birth certificate stands for Dallas, as
in his favorite NFL team that he tried to tell
us was fool's gold last week, and they went out
and proceeded to prove it against New Orleans Saints. But
we'll see as they go up against the Baltimore Ravens
this week.

Speaker 2 (00:53):
But the D might stand for I don't know. Because
it's a delightful.

Speaker 1 (00:58):
Weekend because we've got college football and this town again.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
This weekend.

Speaker 3 (01:01):
Sure, it's always always met DKR sence for DKR because
that's where we're going to be on Saturday. It's always
a great day when college football is in the air,
an even better day when we're down at DKR TMS
Stadium for some college football that features the number one

(01:22):
ranked team in college football. Craig, And it's been since
October of two thousand and eight since you've called the
game where Texas has been ranked number one in Austin, Texas.

Speaker 2 (01:33):
How does that sound.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
Yeah, they went to number one after they won that
crazy game over Oklahoma, the forty five to thirty five game,
and then they protected it for I think for three
full weeks when they were going through the gauntlet of
teams that they were playing that were ranked like Oklahoma
State and Missouri. And then of course that it was
on the Lubbock and we know what happened there, the

(01:56):
Michael Crabtree catch and you know that sort of thing happened.
So that was when the number one ranking was lost there.
But yeah, I remember that, I remember those those times.
That was some sixteen years ago. It'll be a war
day tomorrow. The high however, is expected to probably only
get to around ninety four, so maybe not ninety eight

(02:18):
ninety nine.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
It's gonna be hot. What's the humidity, That's what I'm
worried about. Yeah, let's take a look at this, because
that's what caused you the sweat so much.

Speaker 1 (02:26):
Yeah, because right now at two oh three pm central
daylight time, it is it feels like it's ninety six.
It's ninety three degrees. The humidity is I'm just still
looking at it. They're not listing that. Oh fifty, yeah,

(02:47):
so there you go. The due point is seventy two
right now. So yeah, so as I look at this,
we're wearing shorts then. Yeah, here early in this two
o'clock hour, Yeah, why not, it'll be coaches polo.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
Shirts for us in the booth. Yep. Tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (03:01):
My ninety degree rule going into effect, different than the
ninety degree ruling golf, which many of us are told
we have to adhere too, with the cart path up
to ninety degrees. And I'm okay with, by the way,
the ninety degree rule in golf cart path only kind
of bothers me a little bit, but I'm okay with
the ninety degree rule in golf. We have a ninety

(03:23):
degree rule in the broadcast both if the temperature and
or heat index reaches ninety, we're wearing roaring Coaches polos,
and that'll be the case tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
All right.

Speaker 1 (03:33):
Coming up on the program today in a few minutes,
we'll hear from Long wrn's head coach, Steve Sarkeesian. Every
Friday on this program we bring you a segment from
Long Worn Weekly that aired the night before. Of course,
we record Longhorn Weekly with Coach Sark Wednesday evenings from
six o'clock to seven o'clock six to seven pm at Pluckers.

(03:55):
It's the West Campus location at twenty two to twenty
two Real Grand. So if you want to hear and
see Coach Sark in person, you're invited to come out
on Wednesdays to Pluckers. Had a huge crowd last Wednesday,
but get there early enough and be there to hear Sark.

Speaker 2 (04:11):
And we always have a special guest.

Speaker 1 (04:12):
It was Adrian Phillips this past week, Fozzy Whitaker the
week before that before that, what do we have the
week before the alex okafor the week before that, So
we have former great Long Run players joined us the program.
So we record the show six to seven and then
the show airs on Thursday nights at seven o'clock, so

(04:34):
it aired last night here on the Zone.

Speaker 2 (04:37):
But there's one segment in the show.

Speaker 1 (04:38):
It's on the back side of the show, toward the end,
where we have one segment dedicated to just talking about
the opponent and the matchup for that week. In this case,
it would be the Warhawks of ul Monroe. So we're
gonna hear Coach Sark his thoughts on that. We do
have inconceivable coming up this hour. Lots of good offerings.

(04:59):
But of course then and it would be good offerings
because after all, this is a Friday in cam We
know what body means with inconceivable.

Speaker 2 (05:05):
That's Friday.

Speaker 3 (05:05):
It is a Friday, So Friday un inconceivable, folks, if
you're not familiar with it. We travel to the more flaccid,
the most flaccid of the lower forty eight states, and
we reach for that low hanging fruit and tell me, Craig,
how low is the fruit today?

Speaker 2 (05:19):
It's good. Oh, it's good for Florida.

Speaker 1 (05:21):
Man.

Speaker 2 (05:21):
Yeah, yeah, we've got that.

Speaker 1 (05:23):
We've got The headline alone is one of my all
time favorites. I'm just going to tell you that right
now on this Flora Man story. So anyway, we have
that coming up then in the three o'clock hour. I'm
so glad this worked out yesterday. If you were tuned
into the program yesterday, you heard us mention we were

(05:43):
in a scramble to get on the air because there
were some technical gremlins within our equipment and things here
in the studio, and we couldn't even do the show
out of our regular studio, the one we're in the day,
A regular studio it's known as this is Studio B, right,

(06:03):
that been in the fish Bowl. When folks walk in
to the iHeart compound, they see us on the immediate
left through a window broadcasting. Well, we weren't able to
actually even do the show out of this studio yesterday.
There were there were some major technical issues. Not only
did it prevent us from doing the show out of
our normal environs, and we sprinted down the hall and

(06:24):
we did it in the much more palatial studio, the
Studio A where you hear the morning kickoff every morning
Monday through Friday with Mike Cardball, Harge and the world's
Strongest Man, Mark Henry. They hold court in that room
and Khalil Randall, the producer. They're all in that room,
that big room. They're there, and that's where we hustled

(06:45):
down the hall to be able to do the show yesterday.
And we did it and pulled it off and all that.
But in having to abandon this room. The other thing
that happened was the technical thing really just waked havoc
on some of the advanced work that Cameron and I
were doing in preparation for this show for the game

(07:06):
broadcast on Saturday. Just to give you a little insight
on this, we had an interview yesterday with Bryant Vincent,
the head coach of the Warhawks of Uel Monroe, and
it was really good man, a good conversation with him.

Speaker 2 (07:22):
And then we also.

Speaker 1 (07:25):
I wrote and we laid down the voice track and
mixed and highlights and all this stuff for the broadcast
open that you will hear tomorrow night prior to the
game at six o'clock. So we do all that stuff
in advance. Well, the bug or virus or technical issue

(07:45):
that swept through the studio and all that just did
damage to all that and we thought it had wiped
out everything. In fact, we completely redid the broadcast open,
but we couldn't salvage the interview.

Speaker 2 (08:01):
What had happened in the system brewed show. That's what
it sounded like. So it was unusual. So genius that
he is.

Speaker 1 (08:13):
Cameron Parker nevertheless held on to that unusable audio because
what happened was and we said yesterday unfortunately we're not
going to be able to bring you the interview, the
conversation with Brian Vincent. But today Chip Jellyson, our technical
whiz here, was able to go in. I don't know
what he did, Cam, you know, but he salvaged it.

(08:33):
He was able to wave his magic wand over what
it was and all of a sudden presto, the interview survived.
So that was cool. And so you know, a portion
we use a portion of it in our pregame on
the network, but you'll get to hear that interview in
the three o'clock hour in its entirety.

Speaker 2 (08:55):
So good news, good news.

Speaker 1 (08:58):
On that four o'clock hour, Geene Watson from the Chicago
White Sox front office to talk baseball and to talk
about that amazing evening.

Speaker 2 (09:08):
That Shoe a Otani had.

Speaker 1 (09:09):
We'll talk more about that coming up here in a
moment before we hear from coach Sark, but Gino to
talk about that and to discuss the Major League Baseball
pennant races. So that's the lineup we have for you
to and and we'll give you the opportunity to win
tickets to see Brooks and None, which is next March
March fourteenth at Moody Center.

Speaker 2 (09:28):
We'll tell you how to do that. Coming up, so
busy Friday.

Speaker 1 (09:31):
As always, we're going to jump right in up next
we'll hear from Sark and talk about that historic day
in baseball yesterday. All that and more on a Friday
edition of the program here on sports Radio AM thirteen
under the zone of the iHeartRadio app.
