Speaker 1 (00:00):
Greig Way with you alongside the producer Cameron Parker.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
Cameron, Linda made cupcakes today. You go on board.

Speaker 1 (00:08):
Look at that on board for cupcake, Okay, and she
makes like these cupcakes on steroids. That's a big cupcake.
Look at that. That's a big cupcakes.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
It's ridiculous.

Speaker 3 (00:19):
So shot on the camera right that camera, Yeah, look
at that.

Speaker 1 (00:25):
Yeah, yeah, here have a cupcake. Thank you, thank you. Yeah.
That's a big sucker right there. Yeah that sucks. Makes
my goodness, get fudge everywhere. Yeah yeah yeah. Anyway, uh,
things to discuss. National Football League regular season is over.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
Dallas Cowboys are done. Thank god?

Speaker 1 (00:49):
Do we have the Jerry Jones sound. Let's let's listen
a little bit of Jerry. First of all, there was
a performance. There was a series of performance bonuses right
in place that I will say this, Cam, I don't
know about you. I mean, I know we had the
women's basketball game of broadcast yesterday and we did. But
before that, after that and going into the night game

(01:10):
as well, especially when I got home when I was
watching another Ram Seahawks game which cost the Rams the
three seed. I would much rather have them be in
the three seed and play Washington in the four seed
and play Minnesota now and then if you win that,
then you go to Detroit. Yeah, that's not good. Thanks
Sean McVay for not playing your starters. Big picture man,
Big picture.

Speaker 2 (01:31):
Right, rams fan frustrated has spoken.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
Anyway, there were performance bonuses in place for a lot
of guys, including Geno Spence I think, earn six million
dollars by hitting three performance bonuses, a yardage thing maybe
it was a game performance thing or whatever, and then
ten wins and so he got six million. There were

(01:55):
other guys who had It was Mike Evans who hit
that eleventh straight year of one thousand receiving arts.

Speaker 2 (02:01):
That ty Jerry Rice, there were other teams that had those.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
Then he had the Cowboys Cooper Rush, who would I
think by taking I think they said three snaps it
wasn't going to be many would have earned a performance bonus.
And Jerry Jones decided, you know, and Mike McCarthy that
Trey Lance would play the whole game, and he did,

(02:27):
and so there was no performance bonus for Cooper Rush.
So Jerry was asked about that it would why not
play him? Is that close to performance bonus? That sort
of thing.

Speaker 4 (02:41):
Not long here, just faced with the team for my
visit with the team.

Speaker 2 (02:47):
That can happen here in.

Speaker 4 (02:50):
The professional maps of the game are it can be
tour and so I made it tonight and visited about
going forward, visited about looking forward, sharing disappointment, but sharing
the fact that in a big way, they'll never forget
the guys that a line up with in that room,
the downtimes and the good times, and that needs to

(03:13):
be brought up right now because we're not happy with
out come.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
This ball game. I thought we really.

Speaker 4 (03:21):
Played with a lot of the kind of energy that
you play if you were going to do the playoffs.
So this is this game really energy wise, tribute wise,
coach wise, plague wise, was a real tribute to our
team and gives me a lot of encouragement going forward. Jerry,
what was your message to Michael Party and.

Speaker 2 (03:41):
What does he mean to you?

Speaker 4 (03:42):
Well, I spoke to the old team, and Mike was
in the room with all the coaches in the whol team,
and of course Mike's one of the best coaches that
I think there is. He was made to coach here
because I thought that, and he's done absolutely nothing to
diminish my opinion of him as a coach, and I

(04:02):
am really impressed with the way the players identified look
or or with it. They're inside with it, and that's important.
That's important because he's had some times when each one
of those players individually as well as as a team
have not been fun times. And so he's been there

(04:25):
in his way for him on an individual bas He's
been there in his way for him on team basis,
and at the end of.

Speaker 2 (04:32):
The day, you know that these are people.

Speaker 4 (04:37):
All I've got to do is see Bill Bates out
here today and years flash through my mind about days
with Bill, a glass of tea or anything like that,
to lots of things that go into being together trying
to win a win games, win a championship. As coaches
and their families try to make plans for the future,

(04:59):
when do you int making some decision about those features.
I'll follow this kind of the time frame that I've
done in the past.

Speaker 2 (05:08):
Now that is the way that.

Speaker 4 (05:12):
It's evolved in the past, will be a time frame,
and I can tell you that the past is not
necessarily consistent in terms of a time. When you said
Friday that the Hayes in the Barn about Macarthy and
the coaches.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
Does that mean have you made up your mind on
Mike mcgarth.

Speaker 4 (05:28):
No, Well, the point is that all that I'm going
to look at.

Speaker 2 (05:31):
I was asked I was answering that question.

Speaker 4 (05:34):
And that was the outcome of this game really impact
his future? And I said, no, all of the things
I'll consider hasonable.

Speaker 1 (05:47):
So there it is not long here, just Jerry Tony
sorry about Mike McCarthy. There we'll see we can find
that other piece of center because its kind of entertaining
about whether he would consider relinquishing the GM due because
it would be be interesting to see where it goes
from there. Okay, So in the NFC, because of the

(06:11):
win last night by the Lions, they win the NFC
North and they are the number one seed, first time
in the history of that franchise they've been a number
one seed ever. The number two seed goes to the
Philadelphia Eagles. The three seed goes to Tampa Bay. Like
I said, it could have been the Rams, but they
lost to the Seahawks thirty twenty five.

Speaker 2 (06:32):
Jimmy g playing quarterback yesterday.

Speaker 1 (06:34):
They were no starters out there and Sean McVay did
one of the rest of all starters. It kind of
blew out a kind of backfire, and not only did
they lose the game, which was certainly a possibility, not
playing Matthew Stafford and you're not playing Cooper Cup, and
you're not playing Pukinakua, and you're not playing several of
your starters on defense, and you also weren't playing you

(06:56):
were all going down the depth chart on by not
playing Kyron Williams in your running back situation would they do?
So they go further down in the depth chart and
they go to I'm just trying to complete blank. The
Michigan running back is now the rookie came in from

(07:17):
Michigan part of their national championship, Blake corn So they
go to Blake Corm yesterday and it looks like he
broke his arm, so he's out. So that happening in
ablutions the Rams wind up being the four seed. The
three seed is Tampa Bay, and the five seed because
the loss of the Lions is Minnesota, the sixth seed
is Washington. They won on that last second touchdown pass.

(07:39):
They would have gotten it anyway because Green Bay lost
to Chicago and green Bay is the seventh seed, so
Cam knowing what we know, and we don't have to
break down each matchup individually in the NFC, but it
is going to be Philly against Green Bay in the
two versus seven matchup. I have a filling Packers is

(08:00):
of his seventh seed. Don't stand as good a chance
to beat the two seed this year as they did
last year when they went to Arlington. The sixth seed
Washington goes to the three seed Tampa Bay, and the
five seed Minnesota is the four seed Los Angeles favorite
in the NFC.

Speaker 3 (08:17):
Probably Detroit, but we'll see about Philadelphia. I mean, they've
played great football over the past year, they've been kind
of sneaky underneath this great lion storyline. I think they
have a good matchup with the Green Bay team. They've
already beaten Brazil and now the Packers are without Christian
Watson the rest of the season. Love got banged up
again in that Week eighteen game against Chicago. Not really

(08:38):
afraid of Tampa Bay or Washington. Neither I am about
the Rams, no offense, or Minnesota. So I think it
does come down to Detroit in Philadelphia the NFC. It
depends on can Detroit kind of get somewhat healthy and
can they withstand any more injuries?

Speaker 1 (08:53):
Okay, all right, we'll look at the AFC a little
bit later. Up next, we visited with Paul Keels, played
by play voice of the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Speaker 2 (08:59):
