a little bit dinged up, but appears to be okay.
How about your your thoughts on the rest of the group.

Well, they're just they're really hard to play against, is
kind of my initial thought. And that's what Lamar found
out in the first half. Then it got kind of
kind of weird. It actually ended up being a tie
in the second half. You can believe Lamar scored forty five,
but again Vic was emptied his bench, everybody kind of
got even minutes. But defensively, they're just so they're so

active and so athletic and just make you so uncomfortable.
That was kind of my first thought. And Shay Holly
clearly is right now their best deep threat. They don't
shoot a lot of threes, as you know, but she
came out and hit a couple, and then Jordan Lee
got to start the freshman from California.

And it looked good.

So did Justice Carlton and Brianna Pressed and the three freshmen.

happened to get on several occasions last night. And that's

what kind of put is scare in everybody when she
hobbled off and actually left in the locker room and
came back played a few minutes. But you know how
she plays, and it's just she seems to find contact.

How about your impressions. I know it was in the
limited duty, but she didn't play the other night in
the opener. How about Layla feel you?

Yeah, my impressions were she was the second one out
behind Rory to pregame, and you know she was camped
behind the arc trying to find that that stroke. She
didn't hit one last night, but you can see you
can see her ability to take it to the basket
and just has a feel for the game and a
smooth shot that you know, she didn't have a great

deal of success until she got right at the rim,
but you can tell she's a skilled offensive player and
it's going to be dangerous when you think about trying
to replace a Shaley Gonzales. That seems like a pretty
good replacement, someone that's kind of a score.

game at four o'clock at Moody Center, Agains Mississippi Valley State.
That's why Roger won't be with me up in Fayeviel, Arkansas.
That was a pretty convenient you know, slide in there

Keith Morland will join me up there. But but about
this long worn men's hoop team, last two games they got,

they've been good at home against teams that quite frankly,
they'd be expected to beat. They hammered them pretty good.
And here comes a team from the swack in Mississippi
Valley State. But Rodney Terry always talks about November being
a month of identity and trying to find the identity
a little little bit. And I think he's still trying
to see, you know, what matchups seem to work best

on the floor early on. He's played a lot of
guys here early.

Yeah, and then obviously you've seen a first hand. The
thing that jumps out of you is just the skill
of a Trey Johnson and the fact that he seems
to score with some relative he's for being a guy
that's played three college games. Obviously, it is going to
get a lot tougher. I think the big thing, and

get that production inside? Kayden Schdrick carrying a lot of
a load obviously, Zurich on Yim I got a lot
of minutes when things got out of hand, But you know,

a Jordan Pope. We know he's a score, but you know,

I will tell you this. Texas Women's University in Denton
is a Division two athletic program. Fact, they women's team,
I think had a really good basketball season last year.

they do have lots of programs that are you know,
either co ed or or just for men. So maybe
it's a similar thing, except it sounds like Mississippi University
for Women might have taken it a step further and

I guess they play in Mississippi Valley on the seventh
and missisbe Valley State one sixty six forty nine, So
they get Missouri tonight. That's a tough, tough back to
back in three days, playing in Colombia and then coming

But how about your take on how he's feeling about
this trip up to Arkansas.

Well, I think he feels good for a number of reasons,
and it starts with the way they played against Florida,
and I think especially offensively. You know that thing he
talked about in the open week about offense finding the
mojo back, And I would say that what they did
to Florida in that first half qualifies it.

And the fact that you.

Know, you can turn them over and get points, unlike
that Vanderbilt. They turned Vanderbilt over, but they were unable
to convert a lot into points. Same with the Georgia game.

I think he feels like they're about as healthy as
they can be when you're talking about game ten, week
twelve with the.

a lot more confident than the one in twenty one

high school football and get your thoughts on the playoffs,

you a chance to talk about that the game you
have tonight for folks who are in these parts used
to watching on KBVO and seeing you have. You know,

the Fluggerville ISD, or the Leander ISD, or the Austin
ISD and the round Rock ISD featured pretty regularly on
your Thursday night KVBO Big Game telecast and then of
course getting a chance to see Westlake streaming on KXA
dot com. So in other words, when I'm talking about
our five A and six A schools, this is a
little bit different look with a little three A Division

two action for you tonight.

Yeah, we're gonna go out to Bastrop tonight. And you know,
in these first rounds you can get some games that
at least on paper, don't look great. Well, we like
this one Lexington and Rice consolidated Lexington nine to one.
Rice consolidated seven and three Lexington. You know, they're loaded
on offense, including a junior quarterback that their coach, kurk Mole,

told us he thinks that, you know, everybody's gonna be
coming after him. He's six grade junior. He's thrown for
over twenty two hundred yards, so I'm looking forward to that.
And then you know, the coaching matchups interesting. Craig kirk Mole,
you know, he was at mart and we said, oh o,
old buddy Kwan cosey. He said, yeah, coach Kwan, So
you know that's the guy that's had some success. And

then Brad Dumont, the coach at Rice Consolidated, retired for
nine years and stayed in that area out there is
where the high school is actually in and he came
back and we said, why did you come back? It's
pick a playing golf, because well they called on me,
so you know, I was there and they wanted me.

And I've coached a lot of these kids' dads.

Who he has on the on the team now. So
it's just interesting when you when you dive a little
deeper into some of these these places and we think,
we hope that we've got a pretty good first round matchup,
and sometimes those just aren't out there.

Yeah. Uh for for people who didn't know, and you
kind of laid it out pretty good because I've had
some people say where where's this rice consolidated? So well,
it's in all terror uh And if that didn't help them,
I'd say, if you know where Eagle Lake is, if

they draw kids from that area, hence the consolidated name

a chance to transition to live TV tomorrow night.

Well, I think he feels good for a number of reasons,
and it starts with the way they played against Florida,
and I think especially offensively. You know that thing he
talked about in the open week about offense finding the
mojo back, And I would say that what they did
to Florida in that first half qualifies it.

Know, you can turn them over and get points, unlike
that Vanderbilt. They turned Vanderbilt over, but they were unable
to convert a lot into points. Same with the Georgia game.

they can be when you're talking about game ten, week

likes the team that he's taken up there this weekend,
a lot more confident than the one in twenty one

our five A and six A schools, this is a
little bit different look with a little three A Division

Yeah, we're gonna go out to Bastrop tonight. And you know,
in these first rounds you can get some games that
at least on paper, don't look great. Well, we like
this one Lexington and Rice consolidated Lexington nine to one.
Rice consolidated seven and three Lexington. You know, they're loaded
on offense, including a junior quarterback that their coach, kurk Mole,

told us he thinks that, you know, everybody's gonna be
coming after him. He's six grade junior. He's thrown for
over twenty two hundred yards, so I'm looking forward to that.
And then you know, the coaching matchups interesting. Craig kirk Mole,
you know, he was at mart and we said, oh o,
old buddy Kwan cosey. He said, yeah, coach Kwan, So
you know that's the guy that's had some success. And

then Brad Dumont, the coach at Rice Consolidated, retired for
nine years and stayed in that area out there is
where the high school is actually in and he came
back and we said, why did you come back? It's
pick a playing golf, because well they called on me,
so you know, I was there and they wanted me.
Speaker 7 (12:01):
And I've coached a lot of these kids' dads.
Speaker 3 (12:04):
Who he has on the on the team now. So
it's just interesting when you when you dive a little
deeper into some of these these places and we think,
we hope that we've got a pretty good first round matchup,
and sometimes those just aren't out there.
Speaker 6 (12:17):
Yeah. Uh for for people who didn't know, and you
kind of laid it out pretty good because I've had
some people say where where's this rice consolidated? So well,
it's in all terror uh And if that didn't help them,
I'd say, if you know where Eagle Lake is, if
you're there off Highway one O two rolling through there,
they draw kids from that area, hence the consolidated name
of things. Now. Uh, it's not the only live telecast

you got going on this week because West Lake gets
a chance to transition to live TV tomorrow night.

That's right, and we'll have we'll have as loan as
they're alive, we'll have their games live unless unless the
fan Duel network steps in and takes it. But yeah,
we'll have their matchup tomorrow night live at seven point thirty.
So pretty fired up to have as many playoff games
as we can have here over the next several weeks.
And obviously the six days always interesting because they're all,

you know, head to head with schools that are familiar
with each other and in the Austin area.

Yeah, no question about it. So seven o'clock kick tonight, right,
that's right, Yeah, seven o'clock kick tonight at Basstrop Memorial Stadium.

It'll be you going to drop Keith up at the

there in the morning as they bring you Lexington and
