Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to the Crazy It's our podcast. Hey, we're Chris
and Laurie and we do the morning show on Shenandoah
Country Q one oh two. Hey Lori, Hello, Are you
all ready for Thanksgiving?

Speaker 2 (00:09):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (00:09):
You know it?

Speaker 1 (00:10):
So you do not host Thanksgiving? Right? No?

Speaker 2 (00:13):
I walk not even a half a mile to my
grandmother's right up the lane.

Speaker 1 (00:19):
Well that's so easy for you. And what do you
bring normally to the dinner?

Speaker 2 (00:23):
I normally bring a dessert and an appetizer.

Speaker 1 (00:27):
What do you pick from Costco?

Speaker 3 (00:31):
You know me too?

Speaker 2 (00:32):
Well?

Speaker 1 (00:32):
I do I do?

Speaker 2 (00:34):
This year? I actually got some artichoke dip. Yeah, with
the little non bread things from Costco? No, No, okay, Martin's.
But I am making some chocolate pies. We've got the
kids love chocolate pie, so gonna make some chocolate.

Speaker 1 (00:49):
It's terrific easy. Do you have one Thanksgiving or multiple Thanksgivings?

Speaker 3 (00:53):
We have multiple? We have two places to go.

Speaker 2 (00:56):
Okay, so we'll go to my grandmother's and then we'll
go to my in law's house in the evening.

Speaker 1 (01:00):
Okay, we go to my in laws and then we
go back to my famili's which is in Virginia Beach area.
So it involves a car ride and a dog in
a car and chaos pretty much. So we've got one
little story here. We try to do about three stories
that are just kind of crazy that catch our attention
during the week, and I thought this one was interesting,

(01:23):
and this is like the only Thanksgiving one that we'll share.
The reviews are in for Oreos Thanksgiving Dinner flavored cookies.
Can we just stop screwing up?

Speaker 2 (01:34):
Oreo?

Speaker 1 (01:36):
I mean, they're so good, but then you do this
to them, and like, apparently these cookies Thanksgiving flavors they're
a hit people like that. Really well, there are a
couple that would work for me, but by far most
would not. So of the six flavors Oreo creamed corn, Oh,

(01:58):
creamed corn.

Speaker 3 (02:00):
You I do love corn, but no.

Speaker 1 (02:01):
No cranberry sauce Oreos. I'm down for that sweet potato Oreo.
Maybe that's a maybe for me.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
I just don't know if it's got some like marshmallow
flavor in it, Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 (02:14):
And maybe the crust could be graham cracker or something,
I don't know, something different. Pumpkin pie flavored Oreo.

Speaker 2 (02:20):
Bring it on, apple caramel pie.

Speaker 1 (02:25):
Then things turn dark turkey and stuffing oreos? What cruel
humid decided that should be one of the flavors and
they have to do all the testing, Like what do
you think this tastes? Like? Can you imagine you take
a job as an oreo tester at you think life

(02:48):
is could not get better and then they bring it all? Right? Okay,
I just can't imagine that. But if you if you
are out there and you've tried these, because I think
you could only get them online at oreo dot com.
But if you've tried them, could you please share your

(03:08):
opinion with this and all you got to do is
use talkback. It's the talkback feature on our free iHeartRadio
app search Shenandoah Country Q one O two little red
microphone right, tap it, that's right.

Speaker 3 (03:18):
And I wanted to tell you this. This reminded me.

Speaker 2 (03:21):
I thought this was so clever. A birthday party idea.
My son when he was younger, I guess he was
like seven or eight. He was invited to a birthday
party where they were tasting oreos and they were blindfolded
and they had to guess the flavor of the oreos.

Speaker 3 (03:37):
I thought it was so fun. They got like ten
different flavors of oreos and the kids loved it.

Speaker 1 (03:42):
Oh, you know that is so clever.

Speaker 3 (03:44):
What a good idea. Anyway, thank you.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
For sharing that. You just helped somebody out out there.
All right, let's move on to the next story. This
one takes place over in Thailand, and this one is freaky.
This woman she was discover alive in her casket moments
before she was about to be cremated. Oh my god, cremated.

(04:07):
So she's sixty five years old. This woman and her
brother found her dad right and uh brought her to
the temple to be cremated. And as they were about
to shut her shove her coffin into the oven. They
heard no way. She was knocking from inside the coffin. Holy.

Speaker 3 (04:31):
That is like what nightmares are, Maya, isn't it though?

Speaker 1 (04:34):
That is awful. My mother since I was a kid,
she has just said she was a kid, she's been
terrified of being buried alive. And when I was a
little kid, She's like, now, don't ever let them put
me in the grave without you checking and see if
I'm alive. I'm like, Mom, I'm pretty sure they do
all the checking.

Speaker 3 (04:52):
It's a legitimate fear.

Speaker 1 (04:53):
Though she is telling me this right up until the
time the Alzheimers took over. Seriously, this is so, I
swore to her eyes. I promise you I will check
and make sure you're dead. But but yeah, right, So anyway,
this woman, she was quite alive. Police determined that there
was no foul play involved. Her brother was not trying
to get rid of her or anything. She was taken

(05:15):
to a hospital and she was there for a couple
of days. She's okay, Now, how does this happen? I
don't know. I was going to ask you, like how
how It's just bizarre? Okay, And from that we will
move away from that. The last story is kind of
my favorite of this week. This year, there was a

(05:35):
new Guinness Book of World Records released, And they don't
release it every single year. Every couple of years or so,
I think it's every four maybe every five. Did you
realize there is a world record for this, the most
matches shoved in your nose? Why?

Speaker 3 (05:50):
Why dude thinks of this crap?

Speaker 1 (05:53):
And now it's been broken, there's a new record. It's
a dude named Martin and he's from sweet and he's
a father of a couple of kids. And he just
broke the Guinness World Record by stuffing eighty one matches,
eighty one of them in his nose. We have a
huge nostril. Now. What I don't know is this because

(06:15):
when I say stuffing matches in your nose, what do
you picture?

Speaker 3 (06:18):
A little match?

Speaker 1 (06:19):
Like a little what kind of match?

Speaker 3 (06:21):
I don't know, you know, the ones that come in
the little boxes.

Speaker 1 (06:23):
Okay, so a wooden mass wouldn't match me too? Me too?
Maybe it was the paper matches.

Speaker 3 (06:29):
Right, Okay, those are smaller.

Speaker 1 (06:30):
All I can All I've thought about since the first
time I read this story is splinters. I didn't even
think of that. I am not kidding again. Why when
you're thinking about slamming as many up there, cramming as
many as you can, eighty one freaking matches in his nose.

(06:52):
The previous record was sixty eight of them. Why did
this guy decide to do this? It was his kids, really,
to shut them up in the back seat, he bought
the Guinness Book of World Records, and they were right,
you know, rifling through it, and they said, Dad, you
know what, it'd be really cool to see you in
this book. You do some weird things. So he's forty

(07:14):
two years old. He had to sit down and figure
out something that he could do to get himself in
that book.

Speaker 3 (07:19):
Of all the things in that book too.

Speaker 1 (07:21):
And maybe somebody told him once you have some really
big nostrils. So he had to figure out. Listen, this
is the craziest part. So he had to figure out
a good technique because the matches kept falling out of
his nose.

Speaker 3 (07:36):
Oh my goodness.

Speaker 1 (07:38):
It doesn't say what the technique was, but can't you
picture it? Dinner's over and they clear the table. Okay, kids,
let's sit out. Let's figure this out, work out a plan.
So what was your childhood like? Can you imagine the
kids go to school? Guess what my dad told do?
Oh my goodness, Oh I love this story so much.

(08:01):
All right, Kang, Well you've reached the end of another
crazy crazy just keeps coming and we'll just keep sharing
it with you. Thank you for listening, and you can

Are You A Charlotte?

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
