Speaker 2 (00:24):

Speaker 1 (00:25):
Good to see? What up? Man? What up to Detroit?
What's up with you?
Speaker 2 (00:28):

Speaker 1 (00:29):
What's up? Man? You said it? Right?
Speaker 2 (00:33):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (00:35):
Respect man? You know what I many? Respect man? Yo.
Speaker 6 (00:38):
Congratulations you just got married some time ago, right, you
finally did it? God is good, man, God is good.
I feel really blessed. You opened up good Son with Uh.
I just thought i'd let you guys know that my
wife is an oral surgeon. So I'm gonna be okay.
Speaker 1 (00:50):
Was that like? I don't given if you laugh or not,
I'm gonna be fine.
Speaker 5 (00:54):
Well, it's because I I just it's so crazy, Like
a lot of that material I wrote three months before
I shot. Yeah, like I didn't practice it too much,
and I was just like, man, let me just lean
into the honesty and trust that the people they are
going to really appreciate that.
Speaker 1 (01:06):
There you go.
Speaker 2 (01:07):
So I actually did something different.
Speaker 5 (01:09):
I wasn't like doing like I'm gonna do this joke
and this one and this is tried and.
Speaker 6 (01:13):
John Paul, you trust your jokes. Not a lot of
people necessarily trust it because they may be afraid of
the silence that may come after it. But I think
you embrace silence really good, and you trust what you've
written and you've you know, you trust what you've practiced.
Speaker 2 (01:27):
Yeah, man, I mean you do something for so long
you just got to stand on business like that.
Speaker 1 (01:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:32):
And I was like, I'm going to use the silence
to get people to like think and feel something.
Speaker 2 (01:35):
So it's like silence doesn't necessarily mean oh.
Speaker 5 (01:37):
No, things aren't going well and people start getting shaky,
like because it's supposed to be. It's like, bro, that's
I'm doing a different song right now, I'm not doing that.
Speaker 1 (01:48):
Yeah, you know.
Speaker 4 (01:49):
Also, do I think people are so used to I
guess just the way that comedy is on social media
where it's just like clip after clip or cut after cut,
and it's just like, no, this is how comedy is
supposed to be. You're supposed to be uncomfortable in.
Speaker 1 (02:01):
A little bit. Yeah, totally, man, it felt like real comedy.
That's no this, but it felt like real comedy.
Speaker 5 (02:06):
That's why I praise me because you listened to a
lot of comics. No, no, no, we have a lot
of comics on the show as well.
Speaker 6 (02:10):
Right, but like it felt as if and it looked
really good by the way, it looked really good. It's
on YouTube right now, good Son partly, so you know,
it felt like comedy that you grew up watching.
Speaker 2 (02:21):
Wow, bro, thank you man, thank you man.
Speaker 5 (02:23):
Like I really, I really just wanted to uh just
lean into how I was feeling too, so I wasn't
really thinking, like I said, I wasn't really thinking too
much last per minute. I was like, let me just
find out what the story is. And I broke it
down to like three acts structure like that. It's okay.
Line was basically the act breaks right being married, It's okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
it's fine. I tried to stop by his crib, man,
(02:46):
he ain't home, man, But you brought that back.
Speaker 1 (02:50):
You know, you kept bringing it back and made a
lot of sense. You know you you you.
Speaker 6 (02:54):
You used it through your mom, You use it through
your neighbor. You know, that kind of comedy. It's very smart,
very smart comedy. I think it's brilliant.
Speaker 1 (03:00):
You know.
Speaker 2 (03:00):
Thanks wow, Bro. I mean I don't know do all
this praise.
Speaker 1 (03:03):
Man.
Speaker 4 (03:05):
I feel like comedians don't do well with compliments.
Speaker 1 (03:07):
No, they don't. Comedians don't know how to take a compliment.
Speaker 5 (03:10):
I mean it's like like certain compliments because like I'm
actually very like overwhelmed by like the way you articulated
how much you liked it, because a lot of people
would just say, yo, that shit was fire, right, and
then I'm like, thank you so much, thank you, But
like like the way you are articulate how much you
appreciated was it feels really good man, So thank you, bro.
And you know, I really just want to put out
something great, Like I just I think there's too much
(03:32):
stuff that's out right now.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
There's too many clips. Yeah, And I'm like, man, I
work what you.
Speaker 1 (03:37):
Do well as well?
Speaker 6 (03:38):
Yeah, you know as a comedian you do that as well.
But like you know, there's there's there's that, there's that
the beauty and a well written joke.
Speaker 2 (03:46):
Yeah, man, thank you bro.
Speaker 5 (03:47):
You know, like I I was even like taking out
like words and I was like, you know what if
I subsituted this word with just a pause, then say
this line and then if I can just hold on
my act out and my face, that's going to like
really push it full. So I put a lot of
detail into it. But I saw a clown coach. I
saw a clown coach.
Speaker 1 (04:05):
Okay, talk to me about that. What does that mean?
Talk about the.
Speaker 2 (04:08):
Clown coach, Paul, So you know clown?
Speaker 1 (04:11):
What does that mean?
Speaker 5 (04:12):
So this dude like studied in France. He's like a
professional clown. Clowns in America is in like white face paint.
Like people are in colleges right, clown colleges real, and
there's like online clown colleges. There's all these Imagine I
got a full ride the clown College.
Speaker 2 (04:29):
I know a few people I want to send there.
Speaker 3 (04:30):
Bro, I should have graduated from all right, clown college college,
clown college, the best colley put on some face paint dish.
Speaker 1 (04:45):
I'm master General.
Speaker 5 (04:48):
But his name is Chad Damiani. I met him in LA.
This dude like studying in France. Yeah, So so what
I did was I I sent him a set because
I just like I saw one of his shows and
I'm like, man, this dude is really about his business.
It's so artistic and a lot is just physical comedy.
So I sent him my comedy and I sent him
a tape and then he saw it and he was like,
(05:09):
so you do this joke where like you're talking on
a cell phone and you do this and he goes,
but how do you really hold a phone? And I'm
like like this and he goes, so hold it like this,
then why are you doing this? It's like these little
details of like how you hold something, like even if
you put in a combination like like that joke, or
I put in the combination I opened the door. He's like,
what combination are you putting in? Like think of the numbers,
(05:30):
think of the actual numbers.
Speaker 1 (05:31):
So yeah, it'll.
Speaker 2 (05:32):
Put it in. So a lot of that detail I
think really shined through.
Speaker 1 (05:35):
Wow, that's cool.
Speaker 5 (05:36):
Did you have to pay this clown? I paid the clown,
real clowns. They want money.
Speaker 1 (05:40):
They funny, funny bro.
Speaker 2 (05:45):
He's like, myzell is my cash app.
Speaker 4 (05:49):
And just in case, here's my venoir.
Speaker 1 (05:51):
Yeah. Yeah, did you fund the special as well? I did?
He did. That's out of your own pocket. I love
when comedians do this.
Speaker 6 (05:57):
Yeah, you know, because they they bet on themselves.
Speaker 5 (06:01):
Scary scary feeling, man, you know, because like you just
you just don't know what's gonna happen. And I'm just
I really believed in this so much. And honestly, my
wife is incredible. Like I told like after our wedding,
you know, we got a little bit of our money back,
and I was just like, Babeye, I think I need
to go into this, and she was like, I believe
in you do it, wow, you know.
Speaker 2 (06:22):
And I was like, I'm spending money on a clown.
Speaker 1 (06:24):
Coach.
Speaker 2 (06:25):
Got some pushback.
Speaker 1 (06:27):
You're talking to an educated woman paying for a clown
and it's not for a birthday.
Speaker 5 (06:33):
I wrote it off though, you get write off clown.
Speaker 2 (06:38):
Yeah, it's a deductible. But yeah, bro, you just got
to bet on yourself, man, And like I just, you know,
went for it.
Speaker 1 (06:44):
Hell yeah, bro.
Speaker 6 (06:45):
I love the fact that your dad said, you know,
you can't be gay who you're twenty one?
Speaker 2 (06:49):
Yeah, Like there, she still stands on that.
Speaker 1 (06:51):
He still stands on that. Hilarious.
Speaker 6 (06:55):
And your dad has always been wrong, right like my dad.
When I heard that, I'm like, that is so true.
My dad was an immigrant and he's been wrong his
entire life about everything.
Speaker 1 (07:04):
But he's my dad, so I respect it totally.
Speaker 5 (07:06):
Like my dad told me, if you stare into a microwave,
you won't be able to have kids.
Speaker 2 (07:12):
And I'm like, is that why my uncle keeps looking
at the microwave?
Speaker 6 (07:16):
Like like lies right, like lies our entire lives and
like we you know, we don't figure it out till
we're older, but we you know, we grow up thinking
this way.
Speaker 5 (07:25):
Yeah, And ALVA is just based off of protection, you
know what I'm saying. Like my dad would lie to
me to like like he would try to scare protection
through me, you know what I mean. Like he would like,
you know, if you go outside late at night, people
will kill you, you know. And I'm just like, man,
so when the sun's going down, I'm like trying to
get home, like I am legend, I'm get eaten. The way.
Speaker 7 (07:52):
If you sit too close, if you sit too close
to the TV, all the bullshit that our parents told
us that we were all afraid of for no reason.
Speaker 1 (07:58):
In the car, if you on the lights.
Speaker 4 (08:02):
No way, if you flash the lights. My parents told
me that if you flash the lights, like when you're
driving at night, that's like a gang. Initiation one and
two was that if you have the light on in
the car at night while you're driving, that like you'll
get pulled over because it's illegal.
Speaker 2 (08:15):
It's illegal.
Speaker 1 (08:16):
It's not illegal.
Speaker 5 (08:17):
But my mom said the same exact thing.
Speaker 2 (08:22):
They just don't want lights. They just hate lights.
Speaker 4 (08:26):
Paying for that electricity bill too.
Speaker 5 (08:28):
Bro, I had a shower with the lights off during
the day. That's a shower.
Speaker 3 (08:35):
Shower.
Speaker 2 (08:36):
I can't find the conditioner.
Speaker 1 (08:38):
I know. You're just like looking around with the field.
You have to remember what it looks like. Yeah, insane.
Speaker 7 (08:45):
Speaking of showers, my uncle told me, if you whack
it too much, you be blind.
Speaker 2 (08:49):
And obviously I can see just fine.
Speaker 1 (08:50):
Yeah, all of them are like.
Speaker 2 (09:00):
It actually makes your vision better.
Speaker 1 (09:05):
Lotion too.
Speaker 6 (09:06):
It's crazy, yo, bro. So your parents' marriage was arranged. Yeah,
that's insane. But they weren't cousins, were they No?
Speaker 5 (09:14):
Okay no, no, they just like their their families were
around neighboring villages in northern Iraq.
Speaker 1 (09:20):
Oh shoot yeah yeah, damn that's wild crazy. So did
you we all thinking your marriage would be arranged?
Speaker 2 (09:28):
I mean my mom she would always be like, hey,
what do you think of her?
Speaker 5 (09:30):
You know, and it's like and I'm like young, I'm
like nineteen and shit, you know, and I'm like, my
mom was just trying to be like, yo, this is
how we did it. Like when you're nineteen, you're married.
There is no like have fun like you're twenty two
in the.
Speaker 1 (09:40):
Club yourself, none of that.
Speaker 2 (09:42):
Oh, find yourself yourself.
Speaker 1 (09:45):
You would find none of that, none of that. Nineteen
you're already like you're old, right, so like get to it.
Speaker 5 (09:51):
Yeah, bro, So, I mean my mom she would tried up.
I mean, she definitely wanted me to marry within my culture,
Like she was very admint about that. And then my
older brother married uh oh she was a half Native American,
half white.
Speaker 1 (10:03):
Oh so he broke it up for you, broke it up.
He made it easier for you.
Speaker 5 (10:07):
Light work, that's right, light, easy word Sposa Venezulana.
Speaker 6 (10:15):
And your wife meets your family and it's is it
love right away or is there some suspicious zero suspicion?
Speaker 5 (10:20):
My mom, My mom loved her immediately, and I think
a lot of it was like she just respected her.
She respected my mom, and my mom just.
Speaker 2 (10:28):
Like really respected her.
Speaker 5 (10:29):
So she's like, you know, respect is a universal dialect,
and I think her fear was that I was going
to marry someone American, and she thinks American people have
no respect.
Speaker 2 (10:38):
She's like, say, what shoes in the house?
Speaker 1 (10:40):
Right right? Right?
Speaker 2 (10:41):
Where does the baby walk? You know, so like disgusting.
Speaker 5 (10:45):
Yes, Like my mom like looks at that, and she's
just like, you know, she loves respect, she loves culture.
You know, there's not a lot of you know, I'm
Kldeina Assyrian bro, there's not a lot of us. We're
such a small group of people. So she wanted someone
that she can speak our language to our whig is
called sudith. You know, this is the language that Jesus spoke,
you know, so he hears my prayers.
Speaker 2 (11:05):
That's right, That's right. Yeah, yeah, let me know if you.
Speaker 5 (11:10):
Hey, man, do my way's got to do a lingo translation.
Speaker 1 (11:16):
Yeah, but like so is there talk about kids and
stuff too?
Speaker 5 (11:18):
Or yeah, man man and Shalla bro God willing, we're
gonna have kids.
Speaker 1 (11:21):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (11:22):
Because she's in her residency right now, so she has
another three years of residency.
Speaker 2 (11:28):
So I figured I was, go, let's wait till you
about two.
Speaker 5 (11:29):
Years in her residency is a little more chill, And
then let's start having some babies.
Speaker 1 (11:33):
I know you had to ask to see the card, bro,
which is crazy. Yeah, that's that's that's.
Speaker 6 (11:39):
Very maga of you, bro, very maga dogs. Asking to
see the green card is wild.
Speaker 2 (11:46):
How do you ask somebody you can't?
Speaker 5 (11:48):
You don't, like like like if you're gonna date somebody,
and like you just want to check, like there's no.
Speaker 1 (11:54):
There's no so so are you are you legal? Like?
Speaker 5 (11:59):
Well, how I first said was I was like, mans, wow,
what's going on right now?
Speaker 1 (12:02):
Right?
Speaker 5 (12:03):
And she's like, you say, like ice is going around
and you know, doing all this stuff, like Dave, like
I just want to make sure you're good, you know,
like have you checked the expiration date of everything?
Speaker 1 (12:15):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (12:16):
Yeah, man, because you let me give you another set
of eyes just in case.
Speaker 1 (12:21):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (12:21):
And I'm like I'm doing this for you. I'm like,
look at mine.
Speaker 7 (12:25):
You know I would have just waited till she's asleep
and took her wallet.
Speaker 1 (12:28):
Yeah damn that's what you would have done.
Speaker 2 (12:30):
And you got good vision.
Speaker 1 (12:33):
Damn lights off. Yeah, bro.
Speaker 5 (12:35):
But I mean a lot of it was like that
story was really about my family, man.
Speaker 1 (12:42):
Man.
Speaker 2 (12:42):
A lot of is just whatever.
Speaker 5 (12:43):
I just can't escape their voices in my head sometimes
because they would say something and it would just have
such a stronghold on me. And I'm thirty eight right now,
you know. So my dad told me that and it
was just like something that I just couldn't shake.
Speaker 2 (12:55):
I was like, he's right, I should.
Speaker 5 (12:56):
Do this, And then I always felt like I had
to do what my parents say and then do what
my friend saying.
Speaker 1 (13:00):
Oh you're a good son, good son? Yeah. So did
you end up seeing it?
Speaker 2 (13:06):
I did. She threw it on my lap. She threw
that story is real.
Speaker 5 (13:10):
She threw it on my lap, and I looked at it,
you know, and I was just like, all right, checks out,
You're safe.
Speaker 2 (13:13):
I was like, you good girl.
Speaker 1 (13:15):
My man said it checks out.
Speaker 2 (13:18):
I had a blue light on meeting the blue light,
you know what I mean. I read it.
Speaker 5 (13:25):
I ran through one of them ts a things like.
Speaker 2 (13:30):
Yeah, yeah, he got a three dollar balance on.
Speaker 1 (13:32):
It, damn dog. And now you're married.
Speaker 2 (13:37):
All good, all good, beautiful.
Speaker 1 (13:38):
It worked out, you know, and it's all It's for
her protection, That's all. That's what I say. You know,
nothing to be offended about.
Speaker 6 (13:45):
Man, you dropped that bomb too in the middle of
the special about your parents being Trump supporters. You rise
like you know, and I'm like, oh shoot, but I
mean you know you also said like, yo, I'm not
left or right, I'm normal, right, So like yeah, that
is that doesn't necessarily mean you're a Trump supporter.
Speaker 5 (14:03):
No, man, I mean look like I'm able to be objective,
Like I don't vibe with somebody just because they believe
the same things I believe and like other things that,
like I consider myself.
Speaker 2 (14:13):
Socially liberal, morally conservative. You know, I think a lot
of people are like that. You know, yeah, I think
a lot of people are like that.
Speaker 5 (14:22):
So it's like I stand on like you know, like
I'm I'm Keldy and Catholic, Christian, you know what I'm saying.
So it's like I go to church, I believe in
like the fundamentals of marriage, and but also at the
same time, I respect if people are like I'm gonna
do something else. I'm like, what would Jesus do? Would
Jesus hate someone because they're different than them? Would Jesus
hate someone because they're a different religion? Like, no, he
wouldn't do that. So like I stand on that, and
(14:43):
like I feel like a lot of people in my community,
you know, like the especially like magotype people like they
just hate people that aren't like them.
Speaker 1 (14:51):
Right with a cross on, which is crazy. Bro.
Speaker 2 (14:53):
So I'm saying, if you're gonna be racist, tuck that chain.
Speaker 1 (14:55):
In, tuck it in.
Speaker 5 (14:59):
You can't wear this merch and say those things. And it's
all crazy like that, bro some Valentina Gomez.
Speaker 2 (15:06):
Bro, don't talk about.
Speaker 1 (15:07):
It, yo.
Speaker 6 (15:11):
Like Trump, he dropped that picture and it was clearly him,
you know, saying he's God and then gets called on
it and then says, oh that's me as a doctor.
Speaker 1 (15:19):
Some bullshit.
Speaker 5 (15:19):
It It's extremely blasphemous, you know, Like I actually would
have respected him more if he would have said.
Speaker 2 (15:23):
Listen, I'm I'm I think I'm God.
Speaker 4 (15:29):
Als like you're just like I mean fuck, like okay,
like if that's what you think, like that, like you said,
like it's just like you would have respected it more.
Speaker 2 (15:38):
Or if his caption was take this pope, you know
what I mean.
Speaker 5 (15:41):
Like, yeah, he's he's being transparent about why he's like
he's trolling.
Speaker 1 (15:47):
At least he's being controlled because that's what he is.
Speaker 2 (15:50):
Like that's fifty cents fifty cent?
Speaker 1 (15:52):
Does it right?
Speaker 7 (15:52):
He'll let you know, he'll troll you, but he'll let
you know he's trolling, like, whereas Trump's just putting this
out and pretending it's something different.
Speaker 1 (15:58):
And then backs off of it, like you know, you
throw the rock and then you hide your hand.
Speaker 2 (16:02):
Yeah, man, And it's like, well, why'd you delete it? Bro?
Speaker 5 (16:05):
The same thing you did with the Obama's like when
you depicted that lion king thing. And it's like, bro,
like you unless you are completely delusional, like I like
to believe that you're a smart man.
Speaker 2 (16:16):
You're able to.
Speaker 5 (16:16):
Look at this and see what it is. You know,
what you're doing and the things. His supporters love him
even more. But this this thing of depicting himself.
Speaker 2 (16:23):
As Jesus, I really feel like he lost.
Speaker 5 (16:26):
I mean, if anyone still, like any believing Christian can
be like, you have to condemn this and say it's wrong.
But instead of condemning, people just don't say anything. They're
just quiet. They're just like, yeah, I'm not going to
say anything about it.
Speaker 6 (16:38):
No, because it's you know, it's harder to admit that
you were wrong or that you disagree versus saying you
know what I mean, Like, it's just it's hard for
them to admit defeat.
Speaker 1 (16:49):
I guess in a way.
Speaker 2 (16:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (16:51):
Look, if I'm wrong, I got to admit defeat because
I think taking an l is just gonna make.
Speaker 6 (16:55):
Me stronger, you know. But Trumpers are not doing that.
They refused to lose my g you know.
Speaker 5 (17:01):
Yeah, man, that's why I made me very sad, like
seeing like kind of how my parents. You know, my
parents watch Fox News all the time all the time.
That's like their favorite champ shit r bro. My mom
called me at the middle of night. She She's like, well,
help me buy these gold coins. Oh they are selling them.
Speaker 1 (17:17):
Yeah. I'm like, Mom, you don't need them coins. You know,
we don't need them.
Speaker 6 (17:23):
You don't need the Trump dollar, we don't need the
Trump cell phone, none of that.
Speaker 5 (17:31):
That's why I changed the channel. I just put on
Dealer No deal, good deal good. Like how I mendell Safe?
Speaker 6 (17:36):
Yeah, yeah, super safe. He's in the seventies to how man,
God bless them. Man, good dude doing it right?
Speaker 1 (17:44):
Yo?
Speaker 6 (17:44):
Your mom she started working at eleven years old. Your mom, right,
Is that true? She was like fixing TV's at eleven
years old. Yeah, that's that grime, man, So how can
you how can like you know. Yeah, my my parents
and I think all of our parents worked at a
very early age.
Speaker 1 (17:58):
There's no room to complain. No, you can't complain, right.
Speaker 2 (18:02):
No, man, that's why I just don't believe in. I
believe in.
Speaker 5 (18:05):
You just got to work harder, you know, cause, like
I have so many things to complain about. I'm like, man,
I think you know when it comes to stand up,
like I really think, I'm like top notch and I
believe it. I believe in my ability with all my heart.
And then if I don't get the accolades that I deserve,
my instinct is to be like, this is bullshit and
I want to complain, and then I'm just like, no, Broy,
you got to be even doper. And I think that's
(18:26):
what led me to good Son. Hm, that's what led
me to making sure that it's so good because I'm
I'm gonna make sure this is so good. No room
for error, and people can pick holes and say whatever
they want. But it's like, bro, I gave it my best.
Speaker 6 (18:38):
Man, you know you did right, And the editing was
very clean as well. It looks great. It was shot
very well. You could hear the crowd laughing. It's on YouTube. Now,
good son, Paul Elliott. It's a really good special man,
and you know you you you did a great job.
Thank you man, you really did.
Speaker 1 (18:53):
Man. That's just not easy. And you gotta pay for
it yourself. You gotta pay for the lighting.
Speaker 5 (18:57):
You gotta pay for it all right, pay for it
all bro, Pay for promotion. Actually an interesting thing about promotions, So.
Speaker 1 (19:03):
Pay people to be there.
Speaker 2 (19:05):
See then I'm like, that's the problem.
Speaker 5 (19:09):
Well, actually in the way I did, because I was
putting out ads so people would see the ad and
then buy the ticket.
Speaker 6 (19:14):
But they're fans though you could see and your people
were in the crowd too.
Speaker 5 (19:17):
My people were in the crowd, man. But again it's
like the algorithm doesn't show your ship to everybody. Like
even I was looking at some of your clips, like
you have some incredible clips, like with some of the
biggest artists talking about some really interesting things, and it's.
Speaker 1 (19:29):
Like, I don't see it, right, I know, it's crazy.
Speaker 2 (19:31):
It's crazy, man.
Speaker 1 (19:31):
Do we gotta do? What do we have to do?
So so so higher clip farmers, Bro.
Speaker 5 (19:35):
What I've realized is that you got to pay to
get your shit seen. You gotta pay for promotion, which
is what.
Speaker 2 (19:41):
I'm willing to do.
Speaker 7 (19:42):
You gotta do all those little things because if not,
people don't see Huh.
Speaker 5 (19:44):
But bro, what's crazy? Like when I released the special
on YouTube. This is my first time talking about this.
By the way, I released a special on YouTube, and
I was like, I'm gona run Google ads because.
Speaker 2 (19:52):
You know Google owns YouTube.
Speaker 5 (19:55):
So they flagged all my ads and they said the
reason why they flagged it is because in the special
I mentioned Donald Trump's name. So under the terms of conditions,
if you mentioned political figures, they said including Donald Trump.
Speaker 2 (20:07):
And they sent me an email about this.
Speaker 5 (20:09):
They said, you now get put into election advertising category,
so you got to apply for election advertising certification, which
is like this long process. Or they said you got
to bleep out Trump's name and you can't say it.
Speaker 6 (20:23):
So I was like, damn dog, like protecting him in
a way.
Speaker 7 (20:27):
I mean yeah, I mean with the election stuff, we
have the same kind of guidelines to if we interview
one person, like for mayor, we got to interview all
of them to be fairbody, Like, there's weird laws and
stuff depending on the platform. So like, I feel where
you're coming from.
Speaker 2 (20:42):
So did you end up deleting around.
Speaker 5 (20:43):
Well, I'm saying as a comedian, I'm like, bro, I'm
a comedian, right, Like, I'm not trying to promote, Like
these are jokes. And I once and my love line
was I said my mom loves Trump. That's right, that
was the line. So I'm big upping him through my mom. Yeah,
I'm like this, this is a promo. So I was
(21:05):
talking about this with a homey of mind. He owns
this production company called Watermelon Pictures, and he was like, bro,
We're gonna put your special on our Watermelon Plus for free.
We're gonna promote it. They have like twenty two million subscribers.
We're gonna promote it for free. So they were gracious
enough to be We're gonna put on our platform also
for free, just to get people to see it.
Speaker 1 (21:24):
So cool.
Speaker 2 (21:25):
Yeah, man, So I'm just that's you know.
Speaker 7 (21:29):
It's clearly still on YouTube though, but you can't do
anything to promote it.
Speaker 5 (21:33):
And I'm just seeing the views like like I'm watching
the graph like slowly teeter off and I'm just like
looking at it, like all the money I spent and
it's like not getting the views and everybody way everybody
shared it. Bro, I had the biggest comedians and the
game share it.
Speaker 1 (21:46):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (21:46):
I saw some yeah, huge people were sharing it. And
then I'm looking at the view count. I'm like, twelve
thousand views.
Speaker 1 (21:52):
That's it.
Speaker 5 (21:53):
Not that I'm grateful for that those views, but I'm like, man,
I was really hoping this thing would like really you
want more?
Speaker 1 (21:57):
Sure?
Speaker 7 (21:59):
Well, we feel your pains, like we know moments when
we get them right, like during the interviews.
Speaker 2 (22:03):
We know.
Speaker 7 (22:03):
I mean, we don't try, We're not out here trying,
but well know, when something happens, we go wow. But
people are gonna when it's organic, yeah, it's fun, and
we put it out and we kind of look at
it like why is this not not being off?
Speaker 1 (22:14):
You know what I mean?
Speaker 7 (22:14):
And it's like, but these algorithms have a stranglehold on everything, man,
And you can put out the best material and people
just may not see it because they watched one video
about something else and then that's their feed for the
next twenty four hours.
Speaker 2 (22:27):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (22:27):
Man, I mean the way I'm looking at it is
that hopefully there'll be one person like producer director, they'd
watch it and.
Speaker 2 (22:33):
Be like, yo, man, let's put them in something.
Speaker 1 (22:35):
You know.
Speaker 5 (22:35):
Then it's like cool, like this. My good Son was
a commercial to show people what I can do.
Speaker 1 (22:40):
It is yeah, yeah, hell yeah.
Speaker 6 (22:41):
And back in the day, this kind of special will
turn into a sitcom because of the family dynamic, right
and your mother and father and the marriage and your
dad was you know it was gonna box, you know,
retired Muhammad Ali and you know you married outside of
your race. Like all of that is just you know,
dynamic for a cutting edge, you know, a series, you know,
(23:03):
at least on on on Networktellivision.
Speaker 1 (23:05):
I think it would work. It'd be a little crazy,
but I think that's something that could happen. ABC.
Speaker 2 (23:09):
Right over here the street, we're saying, you played my uncle.
Speaker 1 (23:15):
I'm down.
Speaker 6 (23:17):
I'm down, Bro, I'm so down. I'm going to pay
the clown too. We can figure this out, so we
make it fun. Let's go, let's go. Man good Son
is on YouTube. Paul Elliot, thank you so much for
your time, Bro. We appreciate it. I appreciate the birthday
gift as well. My man got me some coffee, so
it's really good. I just need a coffee machine now,
(23:37):
but I have one. I know we have one here
in the office, so use you got mugs though, right,
Yeah I think so.
Speaker 2 (23:47):
Guys, Yeah, yeah, yours, You watch yours, you keep yours
on the side, right. You got your own cabinet.
Speaker 5 (23:51):
She got her own cabinets clean with these animals.
Speaker 1 (23:56):
Their shoes inside. Yo, Paul, salute my guy.
Speaker 2 (24:01):
Thank you, bro.
Speaker 1 (24:02):
Appreciate a good song on YouTube? What's up?
