Speaker 1 (00:00):
What's good.

Speaker 2 (00:01):
It's good. It's VI stip what up as must and
you're checking out the Cruise Show podcastscribe Right, all right,
we got to hear this up because Less and Cheeky's
are going to go out on the date after this interview.
Let's get to it. Yeah, one popcorn buckets, you film me.
That's right, it's the Cruise Show Real ninety two or three.
Cheekys is back on the show. Celebrate. Welcome Janey, Thank you,

(00:26):
Welcome Janey. The new album two years in the process.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
Yep, almost two years, that's right, And I I just
get emotional talking about it because I to see something
that I've envisioned come to life, is I mean, and
I've done that before, but this is so different. It's
hard to explain. And it's my self titled album, so
it's like I've been dreaming about about this moment for
a long time.

Speaker 2 (00:49):
This is important. This is where you're you're kind of
peeling off layers of yourself in front of everyone for
everyone to hear and see exactly.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
Vulnerability.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
That's what it's about. I think that's I think you've
mastered that, you know, watching your social media videos and
just watching you on TV for so many years, watching
you live in concert and watching you with your family.
You you're very honest. You're brutally honest with yourself and
everyone around you, and I think that's your superpower.

Speaker 1 (01:14):
Thank you so much. I think that. Yeah, I've learned
that there's a lot of power in being vulnerable and
sharing your experiences and especially like me, knowing that I'm
here to help other people. I feel like that's the
only way I could do it. And maybe some people
think you don't have to share that, why are you sharing?
That it's too much? But I feel like it's never
too much when it's your truth, you know what I mean?

(01:34):
So thank you.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
Has the truth ever gotten you into trouble?

Speaker 1 (01:36):
Yes, especially when you're playing truth or dare?

Speaker 2 (01:41):
Oh yeah, yeah yeah. It taking me as a dare
person though.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
I like, yeah, I probably, yes, I dare Darren me
to do something crazy.

Speaker 2 (01:49):
That's right, I'll tell you right now.

Speaker 1 (01:52):
Oh shit, all right, let's do it.

Speaker 3 (01:55):
You know, with a two year process of making this
self titled album, I know, like you know, there's obviously
growth with every year. Is there any point where you
were just like maybe I shouldn't, like, you know, can
make this song part of the album because that was
so passed me.

Speaker 1 (02:11):
No, not at all. I didn't have that moment with
this album. I had moments of like, oh, should I
do this? Should I just keep it to myself completely?
But then I'm like, no, this is These are those
negative thoughts that try to come in and it's like,
you know you're meant to do something, but then like
just negativity comes in and like tries to scare you.
And I had moments of like, I'm scared. I don't know,

(02:32):
maybe it's.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
Too soon, too.

Speaker 1 (02:35):
Personal, Maybe it's too out there.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
This is just my business or my family's business.

Speaker 1 (02:39):
Maybe this is just something I had to just like
from a poem. May yeah do it for myself. I
thought that, and I'm like, oh, maybe I'm not ready
to share this. I'm like, you know what, I've already,
I've already talked about it. This is part of the journey,
and it's okay. I've had moments like this where I've
been scared in the past and then that that you know,
fear turns into something very beautiful. So I'm like, let's
just keep going. That's that's where you keep on swimming, you.

Speaker 2 (03:02):
Know, just keep on just keep swimming and then you're free.
There's a sense of freedom that kind of hits you.

Speaker 4 (03:07):
Right.

Speaker 2 (03:08):
You take all your poems into a writing camp and
turn that into music.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
We had a three day writing camp in Malibu. I
wanted it to be at the Palisades because you know,
it is a place that I think affected everyone, all
the Angelinas, and for me, I'm like, I want to
bring beauty to this beautiful place and you know, make
beauty out of ashes. So we got a house there.
We were there for three days. We started every day
with some type of breathwork, sound bowls, something to get

(03:32):
us on the same frequency. Eighteen songs came out of
that camp. The people that I met, the relationships that
I've like, I've been able to like these friendships have
become something so freaking beautiful. And yeah, so these poems,
I say, hey, I have these poems. I started writing again.
Help me find the melody, because see, I'm I can
write all day, the melodies don't come to me as easy.

(03:56):
Where you collab, that's where you collab. And I was like,
I'm cool with this. I want to share this with
other people, with talented people. So now the melodies are
starting to come up. Now I'm like, okay, it comes
and I'm starting to record it. But everything started as
a poem.

Speaker 2 (04:07):
Are you narrating throughout this album?

Speaker 1 (04:09):
I am. I have a lot of interludes. I'm an
interlude fan. Me too, me too, love it.

Speaker 2 (04:14):
I love interlude dude.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
Because some people are like, oh, it's I kind of
I know it's part of telling the story. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
I need interludes. I love complete albums. You're speaking directly
to the fans really like and I like that it
was an English and in Spanish too, because it's very gene.

Speaker 4 (04:33):
Yeah, it sounds like you're literally talking like one on
one because the way you're talking, you're just being yourself.
It doesn't sound like you're reading the script. Yeah, very free,
thank you, thank you.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
So the album I say, I think, like a couple
couple of bad words right there, because you know, I
think I say ship or something like that. Man. Yeah,
but it's very me, like I'm not trying to pretend like, oh,
I'm this holy healed person, like this is something that's
going to be for the of my life. Healing is
not linear, like you gotta this is something we're going

(05:03):
to go through our whole life, and I say bad
words and I pray every day, and I'm not going
to say that I don't feel like telling people of
sometimes because I do. That's part of my right, but
I'm trying not to.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
Your parents cursed around you when you were young, right
all the time.

Speaker 1 (05:14):
Oh yeah, and it was everywhere.

Speaker 2 (05:16):
It's part of growing up Latino.

Speaker 1 (05:17):
Yeah, exactly. Always. I feel the bad words feel a
little stronger in Spanish though, and rather you cussed me
out in English than in.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
Spanish and Spanish it hurts. I'm gonna cry.

Speaker 1 (05:27):
Right exactly, you know, like I don't like the word,
you know, stupid. I don't like that word at all,
but imagine stupid that sounds so much bad.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
I was passionate and stupid though my whole life. Yeah,
hell yeah, because I'm stupid, but you're amazing, dude. Or
I was stupid, right but no, I mean, yeah, but
you're right, they'll they'll. In Spanish, it hurts so much everything,
you feel it more because it's just more passionate, exact.
But love feels so much more in Spanish too.

Speaker 1 (05:53):
Being for sure, the amo sounds freaking yeah damn, like
it's so passionate.

Speaker 3 (06:01):
Yeah, you know, I also know that you like you've
had these journeys of finding yourself. But within the last
two years of the writing process and writing the poems
and everything like that, what's the biggest lesson you've learned
about yourself?

Speaker 1 (06:15):
Hmm, Well, definitely, Okay. I've always been big on forgiving, right,
I'm like, I forgive even if you don't ask me
for forgiveness. But forgiving and letting go are two completely
different things. And I just finally learned that, like so
that where it's like this does not belong to me,
I'm not going to carry other people's things, like I

(06:35):
can't I forgive you, but I can't carry this either,
Like it's it's so different. So throughout this process, I
had to heal like my relationship with my siblings, knowing
that they're older, that they got to like do their thing,
and it helped me write and it made me even
more passionate in my writing. So I just I think
letting go of certain situations and ideas have helped me

(06:55):
just come on, Like what's the word I'm trying to
look for, Like just I can't even know, you know,
like surrender, And yeah, I think, yes.

Speaker 2 (07:08):
There, surrender, surrender to it and it's okay. That doesn't
mean you lost.

Speaker 1 (07:11):
Yeah, no exactly, because that's part of like success is
knowing what that feels like as well, Like people shouldn't
be scared of failure. Like failure teaches us a lot
in those moments of darkness and those moments of pain.
That's when we grow the most.

Speaker 2 (07:23):
Oh yeah, you gotta lose. You have to lose to
win death. Ego death.

Speaker 1 (07:28):
Yeah. Oh I had an ego death girl, Yes, because
that's kind. That was part of this too, was that
drug fielder? Was this like spiritually no plant medicine sure?
Oh yeah, plant medicine are you talking about? Yes, marijuana
is part of the money. And I pray over over
with cannabis. Yes, that was part of my visual party.

Speaker 2 (07:46):
Yes it's a flower.

Speaker 1 (07:47):
Yes, it's a flower dude. Yeah, there was, and.

Speaker 5 (07:50):
The food is delicious.

Speaker 1 (07:53):
We had food.

Speaker 5 (07:55):
Can we do this everything?

Speaker 1 (07:56):
Dude, I could throw a party.

Speaker 2 (07:58):
I think wants to move and stop.

Speaker 1 (08:01):
Mama, I don't even triviby. You know what, You're cute
and small, fun size, You'll fit anywhere.

Speaker 2 (08:07):
She's like, bro, I didn't get a birthday kids, but
it's all good. Was amazing. I was like, that's right, bro.

Speaker 1 (08:13):
So shy.

Speaker 2 (08:13):
I love that she's shy. I feel like we don't
know how she is, bro, you know what I mean.

Speaker 5 (08:24):
I also like that there's so many different sounds on
the album.

Speaker 4 (08:27):
Oh, yes, you gave us a little bit of everything,
like a little bit of Kumbia ballad.

Speaker 1 (08:33):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (08:33):
Is that intentional to kind of just feel what you
were feeling.

Speaker 1 (08:36):
And go with it? It's me, It's so Janee And
I was like, obviously, I'm one hundred percent of k
I'm one hundred percent American. Like I'm like, I want
to bring my world into my music. So that's why
I spoke in the interlude Spanish English, and I'm like, okay.
I always felt like I have to do it in
Spanish because that's what my music is. But I'm like,
this is different. I could do whatever I want. It's
my own record label and I this is my time

(08:57):
to just do literally whatever I want. And I'm so
glad that I did, because as I was looking back
and watching everyone watch this, I was so in it
and I'm so in love with what I'm doing that
I've It's just a different feeling I don't know. And
of course we had English songs in there. We had
some R and B because that's like my thing, some folk,

(09:18):
a little bit of everything.

Speaker 2 (09:19):
Yeah, you talk about your husband.

Speaker 1 (09:22):
In this one. No I didn't. Good gosh, no I didn't.
But I think of him with a song called open
my Heart because I opened my heart again to him
and I started believing in love because I felt safe.
So that also has helped me explore and find a
little more of myself and my musics to like being

(09:42):
at peace. You know.

Speaker 2 (09:43):
No, that's right, that's right. You don't necessarily have to
mention him or sing about him or anything like that, right,
because he's there. He's there with you, right, and he's
also a part of this this.

Speaker 1 (09:55):
Awakening exactly, and he's like he's allowed me to like
not allowed that sounds a little weird, but he's been
cool with.

Speaker 6 (10:01):
It, you know, all right, But no, I think and
even in that aspect, I'm a little bit more submiss
if you guys now, I'm proudly.

Speaker 1 (10:16):
It was you. I had to though, you know. But
but he's allowed like the space to just go and explore,
and he's like, you know, what, do what you got
to do is not necessarily my thing yet now he's
more now he's open to it. But he's just been
cool about it, and like, and I need that. I
need someone that's going to give me that soul space, you.

Speaker 2 (10:34):
Know, a real man with a woman like you. Step
aside and just clap, applaud, continue to applaud the biggest
cheerleader and say yes. He just say yes.

Speaker 1 (10:47):
He's like that.

Speaker 2 (10:47):
And when it goes wrong, it's not I told you so,
it's it's it's okay, uh huh.

Speaker 1 (10:52):
But he'll he'll tell me though, the truth too, really good. Yeah,
he won't. He's very respectful. He's like private, tells you
I don't, I didn't really like this. That doesn't make
me feel very comfortable, or you should do. And I
really listen to him because it's somebody that the podcast.
He won't always say things, but when he does, it's like, oh,
he's always he's always almost right. He's almost you know

(11:13):
what I'm saying. Damn it, he's right.

Speaker 5 (11:16):
Again because he's a creative too.

Speaker 2 (11:19):
So yeah, so cool.

Speaker 5 (11:19):
I mean, I think it's cool that you guys get
to help each other in.

Speaker 1 (11:22):
That way, right, And he's it's been awesome because he
gives me like he's taking the pictures. I mean literally,
like the album cover is in my backyard. I said,
this is what I want. I want to lay in
the grass. I want to like and I want it
to be that. He's like, don't even trip. We did
it in like two hours one afternoon, and I'm happy
like that we're able to do that because he gives
me a lot of ideas as well, so it works.

Speaker 2 (11:42):
He's right most of the time. You just don't appreciate
his tone.

Speaker 1 (11:44):
Sometimes maybe it's my more of my tone.

Speaker 2 (11:48):
There you go.

Speaker 1 (11:49):
I'm working on it. Yeah, I'm working on it. So
it's a work in progress.

Speaker 2 (11:55):
It'll always be a work in progress. But that's the
beauty of it, well, constantly working and growing right.

Speaker 1 (11:59):
For sure, evolving all the time. And that's why I'm like,
you know what, people might be a little confused with
this album, but the people that know me know that
it's not coming really out of left field, like this
is this is part of my evolution and part of
me coming back to myself. But that doesn't mean, guys,
that I'm not gonna do on that again because there's
something really special coming that I'm gonna announce towards the
end of the year, so I think a lot of
people are gonna be excited.

Speaker 2 (12:19):
Yeah, you're always at work. You're always at work. You know,
your world is so full, you know, if it's not
a TV show, you're in the studio, you're filming, you're
with your family. You know, even your downtime looks like work.

Speaker 1 (12:32):
I like it. I feel like now I'm learning to
work smarter, not harder. That's like my motto face here.
It's like, I'm gonna do things that I absolutely love
and I'm gonna enjoy doing even if it's less stuff,
you know. But but I'm just grateful. I'm like, you know,
we get to come to work, we get to do this,
and I have to remind myself of that because sometimes
it's harder than other days, you know, but at the
end of the day, it's a blessing.

Speaker 2 (12:52):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (12:53):
So, man, have you learned to also say no to
things that like?

Speaker 1 (12:56):
Girl, Yes, I've liked that word lately, where I'm like no,
Like I do I have peace with this And even
though because see that's my problem. I've been a people
pleaser for most of my life. So now I'm like, wait,
what what is DIDNAE want? I have to sometimes close
my eyes. I'm like, does this give me peace? Or
am I doing it to not upset someone or to

(13:17):
disappoint and or to get someone's approve And I've done
that for so long and I'm like, uh uh. Now
I'm like that little word is powerful. And now I'm like,
you know what, Now I'm chilling and I don't want
to do that. Yeah, I only wanted this is a cruise.

Speaker 2 (13:27):
Show appreciate that. That's right.

Speaker 3 (13:31):
I think like that for me that this year especially
that has been like the goal is to say no more,
but to also appreciate my own time too, because that
is so precious. And I think that you know, you
taking your time with this album is just going to
show the fans as well, like yay, she put her
time into this and we know we know that, and

(13:51):
that's how they're gonna appreciate it.

Speaker 1 (13:52):
Thank you. I really hope so, because I think you
could feel my soul and the intention that I put
behind every song, like you everything, like everything for me, praying,
like when I was in the studio and the fun
that I had, They're gonna be able to feel my
soul for sure, and all I ask people when you
listen to it, just don't have any distractions, like if
you can be in like darkness or outside or just

(14:15):
where you could just be with yourself and be present,
because that's the thing. It's like being present, Like there's
nothing more real than right now. We don't know if
tomorrow's coming. And I know that sounds cliche, but it's
for real. I've learned to live my life that way
and it helps me really just appreciate this conversation where
I'm like I'm here, I'm really here. And there were
times where I was in survival mode and I was
just like I'm doing what I need to do to

(14:36):
like get bye. Now I'm like, I'm fucking I'm here.

Speaker 2 (14:38):
Yeah, that's right. Yeah, it's a collection of these songs
for Janey, right, But these songs are put in order
for a reason, right, there's intents with there's intent even
with the with the order of the song.

Speaker 1 (14:53):
Yeahs too throughout that, And that's something that I've always
love is quotes and affirmations. So with this album exactly
like I you know, someone had told me like, don't
start with this song healing Incantation. I'm like no, I
need to start with this seven minute song because this
is what's setting the tone of like I'm taking you
to another world, and every song like I sat there

(15:13):
and like I'm like, how I want to listen to this.
I want everyone to listen to it from the top
to park because it's a continuous album. It doesn't stop
like Pink Floyd, you know, like the Vegas inspiration. So yeah, exactly,
press play and just fucking chill and just enjoy it
and feel it. Let the music allow yourself to feel something.
Sometimes people get uncomfortable with that. Let it just flow.

Speaker 2 (15:36):
You know, when did you realize you weren't alone?

Speaker 1 (15:40):
Alone? Wow? Yeah, that's a good question. Damn you know what,
that's so crazy. I want to say this, doesn't it
sound so crazy? Last year, I have so many people,
I've had my family. It does where I'm like, I'm
not even if I'm alone. I've learned to appreciate those
times of silence, those times where I am by myself.

(16:03):
For a long time, I didn't realize what I was
afraid to be alone. I always needed people around me.
Now I'll drive myself and I'm like I need this time.
But it wasn't until last year when I did a
lot of like deep deep healing where I'm like, dude,
I'm not alone. Even if I'm alone, there's something with
me all the time. And that is life changing because
you go into life just you're not scared.

Speaker 2 (16:25):
Yeah, and the pain that you feel, the thoughts that
you think so many other people are feeling the same
way and thinking the same way. Yeah, you're never truly alone.

Speaker 1 (16:32):
Yeah, never. Yeah, we're not, guys, We're not for sure.
It's a beautiful thing, guys. Plant medicine's awesome. I'm not
recommending me. I'm not saying go do it. It has to
call you for.

Speaker 5 (16:43):
Elaborate a little bit more. All that falls.

Speaker 1 (16:45):
So here's the thing. A lot of people, especially in
our in our you know, they're like, oh my god,
weita is so bad. You guys, if you've done ozempic great,
who cares? I did Mondre. I get it. But it's
so much healthier than processed foods and high leane than
all these things, these chemical, man made things. This plant
medicine has been here and it is super wise and

(17:06):
has been here way before for sure us for thousands
of years. These are things that we should trust it's
not for everyone. You'll know if it's for you. But
for me, I'd much rather freaking make alco the marijuana
and put it on me then then something else that's
just not natural. Oh wow, yeah, have you ever done that?

Speaker 4 (17:25):
No?

Speaker 2 (17:26):
No, no, no no, I'm thinking about your smoking. And
now there's more.

Speaker 1 (17:29):
Oh yeah, you know it's medicinal like for your body,
like topical, but you know what I'm talking.

Speaker 2 (17:33):
About, right, Yeah, your your your kneque app.

Speaker 1 (17:37):
You put it on anywhere you have. It's like it
heals everything and you feel it. Yes, oh yeah, it
relaxes your body. Is some real stuff. I don't know
how to make it. Someone made it for me, makes
it right.

Speaker 2 (17:49):
It's not like we have a lab at the.

Speaker 1 (17:51):
Not yet anyway. No, but yeah, so planting getting nervous,
you know, mushrooms.

Speaker 3 (17:59):
And okay, big is crazy, but yes, I medicine.

Speaker 2 (18:06):
Here to be honest.

Speaker 1 (18:07):
Yeah, mushroomer space amazing.

Speaker 3 (18:09):
The last time, the last time I did take mushrooms,
I did, like I think I've I realized my happy place.

Speaker 1 (18:16):
So it was so crazy.

Speaker 3 (18:17):
To me that like I wasn't at Padian like in
Mexico and like I just transported there and I was
just like I started crying. I was like I literally
found my happy police, like this is where I'm at
and this is where like you know, I want to
be and it and ever since then I'm just like, Okay, well,
if I'm having a bad day, like I know that
I can.

Speaker 1 (18:36):
Go go there. Yeah, and that's when it teaches me, Hey,
get out of your head. It's cool, go to that
moment that makes you feel good. I love it. It's
good for anxiety and depression. No, it's great.

Speaker 2 (18:44):
Yeah, it's medicine. Really yeah.

Speaker 1 (18:47):
Yeah, it's medicine exactly. Respected like medicine. A lot of
people just go out there and don't respect it, and
then that's where it gives us the bad name. But
if you do it the right way, oh amazing.

Speaker 3 (18:58):
Lot more intellectual conversation, just like say, Jim is obviously
the project and it's extremely important.

Speaker 2 (19:06):
But as a side quest, right, you do so much
more on TV. You got the camera on you twenty
four hours a day. It seems like, right, yeah, but
if you thought about have you ever thought about doing
stand up comedy?

Speaker 1 (19:15):
I have not. That's actually I no, I just started
I told I think I told you guys that I
want to do it. I want to be a djhy,
I want to like start. I have this whole idea
in my head, but I've never thought of stand up comedian.

Speaker 2 (19:27):
I think you could do it.

Speaker 1 (19:28):
You think so.

Speaker 2 (19:28):
Yeah, as honest as you are, that's what it is.
You just go up there and you're honest. Yeah, and
you have so much material. There's so much material though,
you go up there and talk about your family. That'll
be so therapeutic. It'd be crazy, dude, and people just
get it. Huh.

Speaker 1 (19:42):
Yeah. I think, dude, that's a bad idea. I have
never thought of that.

Speaker 2 (19:45):
You should do it.

Speaker 1 (19:45):
Okay, I'm an invite you. Are you going to go
for meal to do it?

Speaker 2 (19:47):
Okay, let's go right.

Speaker 1 (19:49):
Now in my head okay, yeah all right, you can
do me.

Speaker 2 (19:53):
We can do yeah, we can do like something here
like locally like North Hollywood.

Speaker 1 (19:56):
Yeah, some club or yeah, big.

Speaker 2 (19:59):
Fla person they have a small room.

Speaker 1 (20:01):
Oh perfect, you know that's the vibe.

Speaker 2 (20:03):
You can bring friends. They say, don't bring friends because
you want like real laughter. You don't want like sympathy laughter.

Speaker 1 (20:08):
Yeah yeah, okay, yeah, let's just rent people.

Speaker 2 (20:12):
People. Let's just rent people.

Speaker 1 (20:14):
You can do that.

Speaker 2 (20:15):
You can rent a seat.

Speaker 1 (20:17):
Feelers, everyone's laughing and having a great time.

Speaker 2 (20:21):
She's getting paid to laugh. No, but I think that'd
be fun too. I think I can't do that.

Speaker 1 (20:24):
That's actually something I'll open on my on my bucket
list for sure.

Speaker 2 (20:26):
Yeah. You go up there, you cuss a little bit,
talk about your family, talk shit, you.

Speaker 1 (20:30):
Know, smoke a joint, smoke, go up.

Speaker 2 (20:32):
There high and see what happens.

Speaker 1 (20:33):
And then that dude and.

Speaker 2 (20:34):
Tell everyone I'm really high.

Speaker 1 (20:36):
Right, yeah I am.

Speaker 2 (20:39):
You guys know right. I've done it a few times.
I've done like, you know, open mics. It's scary, but
it's fun.

Speaker 1 (20:44):
Oh my gosh. It must be like a little rush.

Speaker 2 (20:47):
Yeah, it's a rush. It's but you've been on stages before,
right in front of thousands of people. But when you're
on a comedy stage in front of five people, it's
like it's death.

Speaker 1 (20:56):
The smaller crowds always give me a little more nervous.
It's crazy, I don't know, but okay, it'll get that
all right. Yeah, Because you like you could see everyone
and you're like really looking at me.

Speaker 7 (21:05):
You're just staring and it's like you're a big state
and you're like, okay, like maybe half these people are
like are in an argument, like drinking drunk or something
like that, But then twenty people are staring yeah, and
you're like, yeah, but I'm down.

Speaker 5 (21:19):
Are you going to go on tour with this?

Speaker 1 (21:21):
Well? I had a tour. I think we just postponed it,
and I don't think we did. We postponed it from
May to October god willing. But I'm working on like
wellness retreats. I'm still kind of wrapping my head around it,
but those I should be announcing those fairly soon. But yeah,
it's like I think that I need a smaller setting,
more intimate for what I want and have in my mind.

(21:42):
So then the other the other like al Malus like
concert will be just music and storytelling, so yeah, it
should be pretty cool. So you know with you, dude,
it's my it's my stuff, Like yeah, you should for sure,
You'll have so much fun. Yeah yeah, yeah, I want
to be a piece like you. I got you. I'll

(22:03):
show you all the way because dude, if everything I've
been through and I feel this way, anything is possible
for real.

Speaker 2 (22:08):
Like yeah, yeah.

Speaker 4 (22:10):
From the album Yesterday from the listening party, the experience
that we went to.

Speaker 5 (22:15):
It was very powerful.

Speaker 4 (22:16):
It was like that journey that you Tooch was moved
by I.

Speaker 1 (22:20):
Was did you cry?

Speaker 5 (22:21):
Yeah, and you could hear a little sniffles.

Speaker 2 (22:23):
That's when, by the way, right, when it moves people
and it gives somebody or it gives people something to feel,
that's when you know you've made arts.

Speaker 1 (22:32):
That makes me happy because I do feel that. I
feel like it's it is a piece of art, Like
it's like, not just because it's mine, but I'm like,
this is so different and I took such a big risk,
but it's a very reflective album where you feel something
no matter what, Like you're gonna feel something throughout the
forty five minutes of the album and that's that's mission accomplished. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (22:50):
Almost the hardest song to record.

Speaker 1 (22:52):
Ooh hmmm, i'd probably right. Well, I think to write
they were all because they were poems and I was
in that like creative space. I was like it was
that part for me was easier. But I think recording
them because I was using a different side of my voice.

(23:12):
I think Volvis was probably the most difficult because it's
such a vulnerable song that it's not I wanted to cry,
and I think I did cry. There are times where
I was crying and during the recording and obviously your
voice changes. I think for me, that was probably the
most I guess difficult one to sing.

Speaker 2 (23:30):
Yeah, it gets tough that way, but I think when
you have those moments in the studio, right, that's when
you're like, Okay, this is working. This is really because.

Speaker 1 (23:37):
I'm being moved, you know what I mean?

Speaker 5 (23:39):
Yeah, exactly, I love I love that song.

Speaker 4 (23:41):
Yeah, yeah, I think everybody can relate to it at
some point in their life.

Speaker 1 (23:45):
For sure, even if you're like I'm not there yet,
but I want to be there. It just it gives
you that like motivation of the heck, yeah, I get that.

Speaker 2 (23:51):
Yeah, we got to remember the chaos that it takes
to be this calm it does, right, Like the chaos
that it takes to be this calm and this reflective
and this honest is it takes a lot of chaos
to get there, right.

Speaker 1 (24:04):
Yeah, dude, you dropping some some gems was just like
He's like, do on my day. Yeah, it's true because
it has imagine we have. Yeah, but no, I mean
a lot of that noise, a lot of being in
that noise, and then finally into just coming back to

(24:25):
yourself and yes, I'm like, well nothing like I've been
through so much. Like you know, I'll find a way
to be okay, God will help me.

Speaker 2 (24:31):
I'll find a way.

Speaker 5 (24:32):
You could give little Jenna any piece of advice?

Speaker 1 (24:34):
Would it be ooh to use her voice? I think
for such a long time little Jenna was quiet. She
was just so scared to like lift her voice and
and say hey, this is this is going on, this
is happening. And I think it caused a lot of
not only external damage, but internal where I just I

(24:56):
questioned myself so much. So I think if we teach
our children to just speak up and say, hey, this
makes me uncomfortable or I don't like how this makes
me feel, I think we're gonna save ourselves a lot
of trouble. And I think the first sure, it's use
your voice.

Speaker 2 (25:11):
Yeah, yeah, I tell my son all the time, your
silence isn't showing respect to me. You need to tell
me how you feel. Fuck he tells me. They tell
me how they feel, careful with what Yeah like the
way you said that, or Dad, you close the door harder?
You are right? Like you know? They question everything now,
but that's healthy.

Speaker 1 (25:28):
Yeah, no, for sure. My mum would always say, like,
you have to ask questions, and I couldn't ask her questions,
you know, but you better ask questions questions, but don't
ask me. Yeah, whatever I say, goes.

Speaker 2 (25:40):
Jane on all streaming platforms. Congratulations, chikys, let's go. That's right, Jane,
everybody two three.
