Speaker 3 (00:41):
You see me? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (00:43):
That hat, corduroy ship right here?
Speaker 3 (00:45):
You feel me? Some who ship? Like you know, it's
like like like some hood Mexican ship.
Speaker 1 (00:52):
What I mean hood?
Speaker 3 (00:53):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (00:54):
Basically can I can see you in your Tila era
A little bit yo, bitch fun album to make.
Speaker 1 (01:06):
No, it took three years of my life. This was
my longest, strongest child to bear.
Speaker 4 (01:16):
Yeah, I was gonna say, because you know, there there
was some time, you know, and life was life and
things were happening.
Speaker 1 (01:20):
Life was life. But I think that like I'm an
artist and I'm so like fortunate that I get to
do this for my job. I get to go through
life and then like turn it into music like what
a what a blessing? Yeah, and and and do it well.
Speaker 4 (01:34):
To Plus you also have a song off of the
Scary movie Sax soundtracks and Sexy.
Speaker 3 (01:39):
Red Pose, which number one movie in the world.
Speaker 1 (01:44):
Oh my god? What for real?
Speaker 3 (01:49):
Oh my god?
Speaker 1 (01:49):
Yes, how manifested that? I mean and the Waynes family
he did.
Speaker 4 (02:00):
But their soundtracks have always been fired for every movie.
And now you're a part of that body of work.
Speaker 1 (02:04):
It's it's iconic, like it's a dream. Actually, I went
to the premiere and I took a picture with every
ways is in the building. I was, I was trying
to collect Waynes like Pokemon, there we go.
Speaker 3 (02:14):
Your camera roll must be crazy.
Speaker 1 (02:16):
No, I was like, where David Jr? Where Marlin? Where
Shine's your favorite? Oh that's that's evil. I don't know.
Speaker 2 (02:27):
That's why I took a picture with every single one right.
Speaker 1 (02:29):
Literally, I think Marlon I'm the coolest.
Speaker 3 (02:33):
With He was just here yesterday. Man, that's our guy.
Speaker 1 (02:36):
But Damon Wayne is Junior is so funny, so funny.
Speaker 4 (02:40):
The spawn is hilarious. Yeah, right, Yo, when you're you're
reworking of bitch right and you made it your own.
The title track off the album right fun song to make.
I mean that was good time.
Speaker 1 (02:51):
Yeah, that was that was fun. You could feel that,
Like I feel like if there was a new like
living single, that would be the theme song because it
kind of had that same little mounce. And you know,
Meredith Brooks wrote the original bitch and so that was easy,
like and I'm just so grateful that she cleared that
and then having Missy Elliott She's a bitch, Like, I
just feel blessed crazy.
Speaker 3 (03:10):
Because she got a song called bitch right. She brought
that energy and.
Speaker 1 (03:13):
We're like the Charlie's Angels of bitch. But I thought about.
Speaker 6 (03:17):
This whole album is like owning that term and not
making it negative and not and just being like, yeah,
I'm that bitch, like I can be that bitch. And
one of my favorite songs off the entire album is
Don't Make Me Love You, And I was telling that
it literally brings the combination of Michael Jackson, Prince and
(03:38):
Queen for me.
Speaker 1 (03:40):
Wow, Queen that's my first time hearing that one. That
they're one of my favorite But I think that Queen's
one of the might be the greatest rock band of
all time. And I know that some people might tussle
with me, but I think Queen really takes it because
they're just like hit for hit. Yeah, no, missus.
Speaker 2 (03:57):
Like I'm telling you, I was just like, this is
just Queen.
Speaker 1 (04:01):
Thank you. Also a big queen, Tina Turner, that was
a huge inspiration for that song too, So thank you
for that.
Speaker 3 (04:08):
That's right.
Speaker 4 (04:09):
So whose hair is this? Is that a personal Is
that a personal feeling?
Speaker 1 (04:15):
So that's the last song I wrote for this album.
I wrote it back in November, because.
Speaker 3 (04:21):
Let's get it.
Speaker 1 (04:21):
Okay, Yes, I found it. I'm crazy, so that let's
start with that. I'm crazy. But I found some hair
and I accused, you know, wrongly accused. And then I
saw one of my old wigs and I did the
forensics on it, you know, you know the forensics. I
(04:41):
did the like the dot testing and the microphone and
it was from one of my wigs.
Speaker 3 (04:47):
So did you apologize?
Speaker 1 (04:50):
Did I wrote a great song? I wrote a great
song to welcome my wife.
Speaker 4 (05:00):
I pay you to say sorry, I'll give you a tours.
Speaker 3 (05:05):
No, she's a virgo.
Speaker 1 (05:07):
Oh I was gonna say, or a virgo virgo moon. Yeah.
We always right. Somebody gotta be right.
Speaker 3 (05:12):
Jackie always says she's right.
Speaker 4 (05:13):
Birthday Twins DJ les DJ Leslie, We're the best birthday twins. Huh,
A little bit crazy, that's right? And Doc Winner right,
and Doc Winner and.
Speaker 1 (05:26):
A twenty seventh Yeah, that's right.
Speaker 3 (05:29):
April six.
Speaker 1 (05:30):
You know you're aries different, different, but but you're and
April baby, and I think that we're very special. Babies
are very special.
Speaker 3 (05:39):
Yeah. But she looked a little upset right now.
Speaker 1 (05:42):
You know, it's a little disappointed.
Speaker 3 (05:45):
Is it my favorite?
Speaker 2 (05:47):
Get the forensics? I mean, like I'm a scorpiod.
Speaker 1 (05:49):
So, oh my goodness, this room is just synergized because
y'all are y'all are sister signs Scorfield. My god, oh great.
Speaker 6 (06:01):
Ah they get married in about a month.
Speaker 1 (06:06):
Oh my god. Water and water intense, emotional, beautiful though. Yeah,
I'm not mad at it. What's you? What are you?
Mm hmm y She like Leo, believes in it. Every
Leo there, le I don't really care about that.
Speaker 6 (06:28):
I think really believes in Leo's is Brettan Rock and
that's pretty exactly.
Speaker 1 (06:32):
Oh my god, the ultimate Leo. What about you? Wow?
So y'all are the besides you and you sorry, the
fixed signs of the zodiac. Okay, we can talk about
that all day, but let's move on.
Speaker 2 (06:47):
Toast for the first time. What would you say to like,
what was some work you had to do to get
to that place?
Speaker 1 (06:55):
I said, that will be that bitch, and I am
that I would be healed, and I am. I said
I would take care of myself more and I did.
I think it just it. It took a lot of
like getting the fuck up out of your funk, out
of your sadness, out of your dark place. And sometimes
(07:18):
even when you're not sad and you just be stuck
in that bed and you don't want to move, it's
being like get up. It's the will You remember a
kill Bill when she was like, wiggle your big toe,
like you gotta wiggle your big toe, And I think
that that's what that line is all about. I wiggled
the fuck out of this big toe. Yeah, I really did.
(07:39):
The baby, both of them was wiggling.
Speaker 6 (07:42):
You get to that point and you realize that like
that's when you're just energy. Your mind shift, your mindset shifts,
and it's just like, okay, like the big things that
were really like knocking on me and really like affecting
me personally, it isn't all that anymore.
Speaker 1 (07:58):
Yeah, it becomes the past. Isn't that crazy? So when
you look back, it's like, oh, wait, we think about
remember when you were another toe analogy? Remember when you
stubbed yo toe? Do you right? You don't know because
it's the past now. But when you stub yo toe,
that shit hurt like a motherfucker. You forget it and
forget about it.
Speaker 4 (08:20):
Yeah, when it passes, the pain passes, just like everything else.
Speaker 3 (08:23):
Amen, good morning.
Speaker 4 (08:25):
Why did we end the project with good morning? Because
I why not start with it?
Speaker 3 (08:30):
Right?
Speaker 1 (08:30):
I don't know that everybody. Everybody says that, and I
think I wanted there. It's kind of deep like so
the first technically the first track after a toast, it
says the thing about depression, you think your life is over,
I say, they don't happy to be. And then on
the final track good morning, I said life didn't end
when you was tripping on the proof And I wanted
(08:53):
to leave listeners with kind of like a Okay, you
went through it all. Now wake up and let's have
a great You have an opportunity to have a great
day unless move forward. I don't like fade outs and music.
I never do fade outs, always end, you know. But
I chose to do a long fade out on good
Morning because I just wanted it to keep going and
keep going. I wanted your good day to continue on
(09:15):
and on and on.
Speaker 3 (09:17):
I guess yes, you in that fading m h.
Speaker 1 (09:21):
And it's like to be continued. Okay, hello, bitch, is.
Speaker 3 (09:32):
So correct me if I'm wrong.
Speaker 4 (09:33):
You know a lot of people have a lot to
say about Lizzo, but that phone ain't never been dry
them DM's never been dry.
Speaker 1 (09:39):
Yeah, phone never been dry, honey, bank account never been dry,
never that like, you know, But I think people just
like to talk. I think I'm very easy to talk about.
I'm a very hot topic, you know. I've always been
ever since I stepped on the scene like that, I've
been that girl. I'd rather be talked about than boring
(10:00):
or forgotten or forgotten.
Speaker 3 (10:02):
When they not talking, that's when you got to work, exactly.
Speaker 1 (10:05):
You don't have haters. You're not popping, honey. I must
really be popping.
Speaker 3 (10:11):
God, God damn.
Speaker 1 (10:13):
But it's like, but you also have a lot of lovers.
They're just not as loud. And that's the thing that
you have to remember. Like, if you got a lot
of haters, that means you have a lot of people
who love you too. And that's to anybody in the
world who's hearing this message right now, you got to
remember that they're just not as loud as the hate, Okay.
Speaker 2 (10:29):
Or is that something that you kind of had to.
Speaker 1 (10:30):
Grow into what hated.
Speaker 3 (10:34):
I'm just basically like blocking out hate and like accepting
the love.
Speaker 1 (10:40):
No, I don't think I was always consciously this way.
I think when I was younger, it comes from like
being teased, being a little nerdy, being a little bullied.
But also I think I was like kind of in
my own little fantasy world, so I didn't notice it,
and I think I tap into those same mechanisms now,
but I'm just conscious of it. I'll be like, man,
you're not even real, Like you're not real. Like, actually,
(11:02):
now my new thing is dead Internet. It's abot.
Speaker 4 (11:06):
It's a bot profile, no profile.
Speaker 3 (11:10):
Pick obviously just to pick that. Is it necessarily that?
Speaker 1 (11:13):
Yeah, I'm like you're not a real person. Why am
I listening to this?
Speaker 3 (11:16):
This isn't real and focus on it.
Speaker 1 (11:18):
No, not at all.
Speaker 6 (11:19):
And we also always have the control now, like and
I think that's something that I've learned recently too.
Speaker 2 (11:24):
It's just like knowing that you control what you see.
It's just like it's look, I can spend my time
on this and.
Speaker 6 (11:31):
Really harp on it, or I could just move on
to have a great day and by.
Speaker 1 (11:35):
Me, that algorithm is something else that me and that
algorithm was tussling for a minute, but we're good now
because you do have to control the algorithm or the
algorithm will control you. And it's like, so I've definitely
gotten I've switched it around now so that I see
positive things about myself. I see positive things about my album.
(11:56):
I see things that my fans are saying. And I
also feel like I am now super into the algorithm.
Like everybody hit me up and be like gramcying you,
every rocket get rid of you. I'm like, exactly exactly,
I made the algorithm my bit. It's working all part
of the master player.
Speaker 4 (12:15):
But that's what we you know, that's what you were
trying to break through, right and you were trying to
kill that algorithm.
Speaker 3 (12:20):
Yeah, kills.
Speaker 1 (12:21):
You want to be kind of annoying, You got to
be kind of annoying to.
Speaker 3 (12:24):
Cringey and whatever and self selfish, good thing.
Speaker 1 (12:28):
I am those things naturally. No, not selfish, not selfish,
a little cringey.
Speaker 3 (12:34):
Who cares?
Speaker 4 (12:35):
We all are if you're a human being, you have
an ounce of it.
Speaker 3 (12:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (12:39):
Yes, everybody's trying to be cool all the time, Like, bitch.
Speaker 3 (12:42):
Stop at nobody.
Speaker 1 (12:43):
I play the flute. I've never been let's start there.
Speaker 3 (12:47):
Let's start there.
Speaker 1 (12:48):
A black girl in Houston playing the flute. Yeah, no,
I've never been cool.
Speaker 3 (12:52):
Were you bullied because of the flute?
Speaker 1 (12:54):
No? I was never bullied because of the flu per se.
I was more bully because of like anime. Like I
like looked at like anime and stuff. You laugh because
that happened to you too. But see, oh you're like,
not me, bitch, not me dork. Yeah yeah, but it's
(13:14):
cool now, Like I'm like, oh, now it's cool to
like anime. Where the hell were y'all? Which is damn
But you know, with the flu, it was like it
was just more you weren't the cool kid because you're
playing the flute, you know what I mean.
Speaker 3 (13:27):
So yeah, what would you say, is like your favorite
anime of all time.
Speaker 1 (13:31):
Sailor Moon like, but that's nostalgia for me. And then
also I read the manga like I would read the
comics and like there's just something about like the friendship
and the sisterhood. And then it was like zodiac signs
and then Planet, Like I loved space when I was
a kid, Like I wanted to go to space so bad.
So it was like all my favorite things and they
were like wearing like swirl and they had like long
(13:54):
ass weaves. I was like, oh my god, like I
want to be a Sailor Scout.
Speaker 2 (14:00):
Anime dubbed or with subtitles.
Speaker 1 (14:02):
I mean this was dating myself a little bit pre streaming,
so it was dubbed like because it was on American TV.
But now I choose to watch with subtitles. I like
to hear the Japanese voice actors. Yeah, like I'm just
getting into like one piece now, but who slow, oh
(14:23):
my guys, slower than Dragon ball Z. Yeah, I mean
like Goku was making that spirit bomb for like sixteen episodes.
But like I'm on, like the Loofy been on this
boat for episode one for like seven days. Now get
off the damn boat. Loofy I do. I listened to Pinky.
(14:46):
I learned to dance, but I can't really do it good.
But I can do the little spin. I can do
the spin part. Yeah, they're cool. I liked you know,
I like bts, Yeah, all types of stuff.
Speaker 4 (14:58):
Is there a female in the music industry that you
can call on and talk to invent too?
Speaker 1 (15:03):
Yeah, Scizza is like, that's that's who. I literally was
just crying on the phone to her like two days ago.
Speaker 3 (15:11):
She brought you out for the for the tour.
Speaker 1 (15:13):
Yeah, yeah, a good cry. Yeah. And she's she's like,
remember to meditate. I'm like, okay, and not go and meditate.
And so it's nice to have a friend in the industry.
Speaker 3 (15:26):
You call her scissor Solanna Solanna.
Speaker 1 (15:29):
Oh yeah, that'd be so weird. I used to what
I used to call her, like back in the day.
She does show or social Lana.
Speaker 3 (15:39):
Social Sosa Sosa, Yes, lounge, I believe.
Speaker 5 (15:45):
So.
Speaker 3 (15:45):
Yeah, we're like kind of like, you know, saying that.
Speaker 1 (15:48):
Riffing on it. I think I used to call her scissor.
Speaker 4 (15:53):
Speaking of scissor, yo, you gotta tell her that DJ
Leslie has a big crush on her.
Speaker 1 (15:58):
I was like, wait, where are you going? You were
exactly where I thought you were, exactly where I went.
Why would when you're a scorpio. Oh no, you're a scorpio.
Your moves a scorpio.
Speaker 4 (16:10):
My work, that could work.
Speaker 1 (16:15):
I mean, let's need she got to be Oh no,
I'm just talking about compatibility. Don't get it twisted.
Speaker 3 (16:24):
Is not looking for the best team come out?
Speaker 1 (16:26):
Oh really? Oh happy pride?
Speaker 3 (16:33):
Let's say she gotta be gay?
Speaker 1 (16:34):
First?
Speaker 6 (16:37):
Speaking of the flu, you were a guest on the
Kevin Hart Rose and you came out with your flute.
Speaker 2 (16:43):
Like, who makes that call to you? Does Kevin make
that call personally to you?
Speaker 1 (16:51):
I will say this, Kevin's a great uh friend and
business partner. We both have fabletics together by the hustle together.
And when it when I was given the opportunity to
make fun of his little greasy ass, I I had to.
(17:13):
I couldn't say no. Yeah immediately, Yes, there was a
lot he didn't know, like my part. He didn't really.
I was a surprise.
Speaker 4 (17:20):
Yeah good, that's that's that's the element of a roast,
right come surprises a few digs, some disrespect.
Speaker 1 (17:28):
So my album is outright.
Speaker 3 (17:32):
I know, I know a lot of backlash when they
came to that rose. Who cares? It was funny and
it is what it is.
Speaker 2 (17:37):
But you're you were amazing.
Speaker 1 (17:39):
Thank you.
Speaker 4 (17:40):
Sexy lady, sexy lady, the sexy ladies in the room, man.
Speaker 1 (17:48):
I know, right, Tauruses and scorpios like the sexiest. I
don't know what her sign is, but what are you like? Cool? Yes, sexy? Yeah, No,
Pisces are great, greats are beautiful. Rihanna Pisces.
Speaker 3 (18:02):
Is not only a pis She's everything.
Speaker 1 (18:04):
No, literally, she's the queen of everything, the coolest person
on the planet.
Speaker 3 (18:09):
Yeah you know her personally, No, I'm.
Speaker 1 (18:12):
Scared of her. Every time. I'm like, because she's have
you seen her eyes? Oh my gosh, she's so pretty.
Speaker 2 (18:21):
Like make intense eye contact and.
Speaker 1 (18:23):
Like anytime I have an opportunity to talk to her,
I'm always like in the back and she'd be like
come here, and I'm like, no, I like a run.
She's a real one. Yeah, yeah, one, what are we
talking about? Sexy ladies?
Speaker 3 (18:35):
Sexy ladies.
Speaker 5 (18:36):
Spin that ship, Spin that ship. That's right, spinet ship.
You feeling that you're feeling that, I'll spin sexy ladies,
spin it on.
Speaker 3 (18:48):
That's right. Little Lizzo means Sasha b fluting the children's.
Speaker 1 (18:52):
Book on thet It's a picture book. It's coming out
in the fall. I'm so excited about it. It's about
a little Lizzo me and she's struggling to find her
voice at school and and her place in the world.
And she meets a magical talking flute that can't play music,
and they're like, well, let's go on a journey together
to find our voices. And it's so cute. I always cry,
(19:16):
like at the end. It's really really touching, and Mark
Platt did an amazing job on the illustrations, and a
little Lizzo is so cute and Pooka my dog. I
just I think it's for all ages. Even though we
call it a children's book, it's a picture book, and
I think it's I think all ages will enjoy it. Parents,
and I can't wait to read it at uh into
band classes like little kids in band class, a little
(19:40):
tour with the school. I want to inspire young people
to fall in love with music.
Speaker 2 (19:47):
