Speaker 1 (00:01):
Hey everyone, it's Stealing Emory, host of the Fanatics every
Sunday ten am to noon on Sports Radio AM seven
to sixty to the ticket. Enjoyed this podcast version of
the Fanatics right here on Sports Radio AM seven sixty
the ticket. Anybody can be a fan Bran Shepherd, good
for Victor win Minyama.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
These guys are fanatics and you GSA has opened up
by phrase poorly. This is the Fanatics.

Speaker 1 (00:28):
Welcome into the Fanatics on this Sunday morning.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
Kind of a dreary day here in San Antonio.

Speaker 1 (00:34):
I'm your host, stealing everyry along with Shane Carter as
we get you rolling along on a Master's Sunday Funday
edition of the show. We were going to break down
everything from the Masters Ken Rory hang on as of course,
he only had like a so so day yesterday. Now
he's tied for the lead. He had a commanding lead

(00:55):
going into the third round as they call it, I
forget what they call it, Shane on Saturday.

Speaker 2 (00:59):
It's like move up Saturday or something like that.

Speaker 3 (01:03):
Text Andy about that.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
Yeah, But here's the thing. Rory just had a ho
hum day. He ended a plus one, but he's still
tied for the lead and so that's gonna be an
interesting race down the stretch. And then shout out to
the big eighty one year old himself, my father. He
turns eighty one today, April twelfth, nineteen forty five. You

(01:25):
know what happened on this day in sports history in
April twelfth, nineteen forty.

Speaker 3 (01:29):
Five, probably something with baseball.

Speaker 1 (01:32):
Nothing The world paused as FDR died on April twelfth,
nineteen forty five. I always know how long it's been
since he passed away because my dad was born the
same day.

Speaker 3 (01:43):
So your dad's the reincarnation of FDR.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
Well, yeah, sometimes hopefully he's knowledgeable.

Speaker 2 (01:49):
But yeah, baseball did pause.

Speaker 1 (01:50):
Now, baseball did get back in action four days later
these I think it was a Senators that were back
in action. You know what else we're gonna have today,
The Sandlot edition of the Fanatics, the little Baseball Talk,
a little broken baseball talk too. You know, somebody got
a statue and it broke right off the bat. Are

(02:14):
you talking about? Oh, we know who are we talk about?
Belichick's wife? Well that not Belichick.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
By the way, did you see him with the Savannah bananas?

Speaker 3 (02:22):
I didn't know what Belichick was out there.

Speaker 1 (02:24):
As a correspondent or kind of. He was like acting
like the manager. There was a challenge call at first base,
and of course he threw the the infamous flag, but
it was a banana flag that he threw for the challenge.
So he was out there all in good vibes last night.
But of course people here too are on Facebook. Joseph
Amenez is here, Alex Rios is here, Chris Gonzalez is here.

(02:45):
We're gonna open up the phone lines too for these
guys because it's game eighty two for your San Antonio Spurs.
And for the past, oh, I don't know, five years,
we've been saying this is the last game of the season,
but right now we don't have a conclusion to this season,
and this Spurs play the Denver Nuggets, and oh how
this has Adam Silver's sixty five game rule all over at.

(03:07):
Jokic in order to be eligible for awards, has to
play fifteen minutes tonight, and as of right now, he
is a game time decision.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
And we're Nuggets.

Speaker 4 (03:18):
And we're gonna get into this more in depth, probably
in the third segment of this hour, just because we've
been talking ad nauseum about like trying to get to
that sixty five games.

Speaker 3 (03:25):
Wimby actually had his own thoughts about that as well.

Speaker 4 (03:27):
But it is, it's it's unfair and it's incredibly irrational
to why when we get to the end of the season,
players like Luca Kate Cunningham, Anthony Edwards won't be on
the All NBA team when they definitely deserve it, and
when we had to basically go out there and they're
be forty burger just just to qualify.

Speaker 1 (03:43):
Yeah, and he threw out some algebra to the to
the media the other you're gonna hear.

Speaker 3 (03:48):
Yourself, and he did.

Speaker 1 (03:49):
He did throw some algebra, which made some sense. But
we'll talk about that a little bit more. But again,
you've got Angel in here. He's saying, go Spurs go.
Frankie Ross goes in here saying playoffs, you know, and
josephim Man it says Spurs will make it to the
Western Conference finals next year is when.

Speaker 2 (04:05):
They will win it all.

Speaker 1 (04:06):
Danny Hernandez, good morning, final game of the regular season,
Go Spurs go. By the way, it is called we
got we got some producers here, Chris Gonzalez, it's called
moving day for the Masters or on Saturdays, it's called
Moving Day. That's where a lot of players will, you know,
move up right, so again you know, to talk about

(04:27):
the Masters a little bit. I love this tournament, Shane.
I think even a non golfing fan loves this tournament.
It's a beautiful golf course. Rory is in contention here
to win it again, but Scotty Scheffler is coming up.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
Yesterday he shoots a sixty five.

Speaker 1 (04:44):
A sixty five, Shane, he's finally found his swing at
a lot of experts here are saying that he's he
might have it.

Speaker 2 (04:51):
What do you think do you think Rory can hang
on today?

Speaker 3 (04:54):
I think he can.

Speaker 4 (04:55):
But I also think that there's there's an issue with
sports sometimes when you get too comfortable too early. We've
seen a lot of times in other sports, and the
golf is no exception that when you have a big
lead early and you get too comfortable and then someone
in the back and catches up to you, like Cameron Young.
Right now is tied and Cameron Young was six back
going and going into day three and now and now
they're tied going going into the final day.

Speaker 3 (05:16):
We saw Shane.

Speaker 4 (05:17):
Lowry and we'll get to him a little bit later
on as well, he was seven back and now he's
what two behind behind the lead. So there's like there
are four or five guys that are realistically within that
two or three stroke distance of Rory that I think
he could He still could win this, but I do
think that. But I do think that comfortable lead and
everyone else creeping up behind him has definitely made him
a lot more uncomfortable. But I wouldn't be surprised if

(05:41):
he has a turnaround, turnaround round in this one, just
because he was so dominant the first two the first
two days.

Speaker 2 (05:47):
Yeah, And I mean it's and it's been very easy
for him.

Speaker 1 (05:50):
I mean, there wasn't people in the double digits in
the minus right, but Cameron Young now is tied with him,
Sam Burns is sitting there, Shane Lowry, Jason Day, even
justin Rose. He's not that far our back. Three shots
at Augusta is nothing if you really think about it,
you know, you start getting into what they call amen corner.

Speaker 2 (06:08):
You're praying a lot as a golfer down there.

Speaker 1 (06:09):
You're praying that you just come out of there even
par or maybe minus one out of those three holes
down there. So I love the Masters because I know
I'm going to get a good nap in this afternoon
because I've got the Spurs later on tonight.

Speaker 3 (06:21):
YEP.

Speaker 4 (06:22):
It's also worth noting that's uh so we've been I've
been in contact with with with our with our with
our with our promotions people about potentially some Spurs playoff tickets.
The word is, as of right now, they don't have
any to give away because one we don't know when
the games are and two they want to make sure
that they have enough seats to go out that can
be sold. But on the other end, we do have
some essay of seat tickets to give away beautiful too too.

(06:45):
Uh same deal's Spurs two tickets plus a parking pass.
So I don't know how many how many soccer takes
we can get out there because it's not really soccer
season yet, at least in Texas. So if you can
call in two, one oh seven, three, six nine, set
of sixth throughout the show, just give us best take overall,
whoever has the best take, whatever it is, we'll give you.

Speaker 3 (07:04):
We'll give you the tickets.

Speaker 1 (07:05):
Yeah, I like that, you know, I mean, please don't cuss.
I mean, we've got World Cup around the corner, you know.
So you've got a lot of you got a lot
of stuff coming for these guys. Last night, SAFC draws
against Miami zero zero at home, So you know they're cooking.
They're not at the bottom of the schedule, but they're
you know, they're kind of cooking right now.

Speaker 2 (07:26):
And it's one of those things where.

Speaker 1 (07:27):
This was a tough week because they did lose to
OC earlier in the week on Wednesday too nothing, and
then they have a zero zero drawl last night, you know,
And if you've never been to an SAFC game, you're like, ah,
you know, you gotta go. And the reason I tell
you is because you are right there with the fans.
And soccer is growing in the state of Texas. It's

(07:48):
growing all over the nation. There's a lot of soccer
tournaments going on. I mean, I was at a volleyball
tournament yesterday in Round Rock, but there was a soccer
tournament going on as well.

Speaker 2 (07:57):
You know.

Speaker 1 (07:57):
So it's a fun time and it's free tickets. And
if you've got a good soccer take, let me know
it could be Even with the World Cup, how are
you feeling with the World Cup?

Speaker 2 (08:06):
Because I'm uneasy with the United States.

Speaker 3 (08:08):
I'm uneasy with the prices.

Speaker 1 (08:09):
Well, yeah, the price is one, but I'm uneasy with
the United States and the way they're playing going into
this tournament. They don't look well at all, you know,
and you're a host nation, so yeah, your pool is
going to be a lot easier. They've taken on the
likes of Portugal, They've taken on the likes of Belgium,
which you're supposed to take on the harder teams, and

(08:30):
they don't look right.

Speaker 2 (08:31):
They don't look right.

Speaker 1 (08:33):
So we'll see about that as we get closer and
closer to the World Cup. I'm also excited that it
will be on a boat during the World Cup. That's
always fun.

Speaker 3 (08:42):
Oh lonely island style on a boat.

Speaker 2 (08:44):
I'm going to be on a cruise ship watching it.

Speaker 1 (08:47):
Nice two days at sea for the first couple days
of my cruise, so I'll be out in the bars.

Speaker 4 (08:52):
I also think it's okay for a round. I was
think it's okay for us to start promoting this. That's
if you want to meet us in person, you'll have
a chance to coming up. Apparently, yeah will.

Speaker 2 (09:00):
Yeah you will. Draft party is in effect.

Speaker 3 (09:03):
YEP April twenty third, April twenty thirty seven.

Speaker 4 (09:07):
You, me and our friend Sam Freeze, the Biggest Poom
are gonna be out at walk On's at fourteen hundred
Pantheon Way. We'll be doing the night one of the
NFL Draft. If you want to buy us drinks, that
is more. You are more than welcome to. Who knows
what will happen.

Speaker 2 (09:19):
Oh, please buy me drinks. I'll draft you into the draft.

Speaker 4 (09:22):
My brother wants to come to the draft just to
buy us drinks. He texts me like, I want to come.
I want to watch right next to me exactly.

Speaker 1 (09:29):
That's simple. All right, Bud, you got my tap for
the night. I'm gonna bring a couple of my friends
as well.

Speaker 4 (09:34):
I'm excited for that because you and I have been
talking about doing more, like like going out into the
city and doing more broadcasts. Anyway, even if you individuals
for one night and we get Sam also and Sam
Luve's talk draft as well.

Speaker 2 (09:44):
And speaking of this is my last night in the
fish Bowl for the season.

Speaker 3 (09:50):
Oh, you're doing the playoffs over at the Rock.

Speaker 1 (09:52):
I'm doing the playoffs over at the Rock and at
the Ultra Lounge at the Frost Bank Center.

Speaker 2 (09:57):
All Home games.

Speaker 1 (09:58):
I will be at the Ultra Lounge, so you have
to come by and see me over there when you
get a chance to be with the Spurs because they're
gonna have overtime every single night. And our friend Carl
Shoning will be joining me. It's kind of breaking news
a little bit. He's gonna be joining me on the
postgame show. Oh nice, So that'll be nice. And then
of course on the away games, we'll be over at
the Rock.

Speaker 4 (10:18):
You know.

Speaker 1 (10:19):
Shout out to Nancy over there, the Rock coordinator for
the Spurs. She's she's always been very handy and helping
me out and saying, hey, yeah, we've got your table
and chair.

Speaker 2 (10:27):
You're good to go. So we'll be out there.

Speaker 3 (10:29):
It doesn't have to just be you talking by yourself
for thirty minutes.

Speaker 2 (10:32):
Yeah I did.

Speaker 1 (10:32):
I did put in a request for an extra headset.
That way we can have somebody nice talking with me.
I mean, you know, it's hard to talk by yourself
for two hours.

Speaker 4 (10:39):
Speaking of Carl, apparently we found out what two weeks ago.
He's he's going to be adding to the tickets seven six.

Speaker 1 (10:44):
Family, adding to the ticket seven to sixty family. I
believe on the twentieth. I believe it's one week away
from Carl's show in the morning. I think it's from
six to eight if I'm not mistaken.

Speaker 3 (10:54):
Yeah, he's doing it. It's called the Starting Lineup.

Speaker 4 (10:57):
I like all the all these all these shows we
have on the station are all sports pun the Starting Lineup.
He's six to eight, he's gonna be He's gonna be
with his co star lg which a lot of y'all
might know from Sam's podcast, The Sports Gave of Biggest
Puma HM. So he's gonna be doing double time on
that show. Everyone's doing two shows.

Speaker 1 (11:14):
It feels like at this station, Oh, because we're doing
more local things.

Speaker 2 (11:17):
I mean, we're coming back to you know.

Speaker 1 (11:19):
And then also, just so you guys know, Carl has
reached out to Shane and myself to actually have like
a little moment on that show. And sometimes Shane we'll
be filling in. We'll be coming in live in the morning.

Speaker 3 (11:31):
It'll be he'll be nice and tired, and I have
no I'm a morning person anymore.

Speaker 2 (11:35):
Carl was a man of broadcasting.

Speaker 1 (11:37):
Carl is a man that if you know that there's
a game going on, he's probably broadcasting I've asked him
to do play by play for my daughter's club volleyball
team at this point because he loves broadcasting, you know.
But before we do in this first segment, I do
want to give a shout out to the San Antonio
Juniors fifteen team as they went in yesterday and you
want to talk about dominate, Shane. They had three games

(11:59):
on the plate. They took care of all three opponents
like nothing. They're in the championship bracket this morning. So
I get updated throughout the show today, but shout out
to them. Shout out to number fourteen. She's number fourteen
in the program and number one in my heart.

Speaker 2 (12:13):
Riley.

Speaker 1 (12:14):
She had I think I counted it yesterday. Overall she
had seven kills and.

Speaker 2 (12:20):
Then she had three digs.

Speaker 3 (12:21):
What's her position?

Speaker 2 (12:23):
I don't know, right front? Okay, Well she's a lefty.
That's the thing. See.

Speaker 1 (12:27):
Riley brings that special talent. She goes up to the net.
They're like, oh, she's gonna hear with a right hand.
She's like, nope, here's my left hand, which is good because.

Speaker 3 (12:33):
That means her bag is to the boundary line so
she can get she protected better.

Speaker 4 (12:37):
I know this because my wife was an All State
where us are an All District ball ball player.

Speaker 1 (12:40):
So yeah, the terminology, yeah, but I don't know, but
that's you know, kind of that. And then of course
it's the dad's birthday, so I might make Shane find
some music during the during the breaks.

Speaker 3 (12:51):
I think your dad will like what I got. I'm
pretty sure this is from his era, all this stuff.

Speaker 2 (12:55):
Yeah sure, yeah, you know, big old Beatles guy, that's
what my dad was. Coming up next?

Speaker 3 (13:00):
Is it?

Speaker 2 (13:01):
Is it your turn with the sounds? It is that
what it is? Coming up next?

Speaker 1 (13:04):
We've got Shanes Sounds of Saturday all next on the
Fanatics on tigr zimsisy
