to body him. I don't think there was some intent
in some in ways we've seen, like with Draymond or
with Grayson Allen, my least favorite player in the NBA
MNBA history, to actually, like, you know, full on injure
the player. I don't think the incent was there. Paul
George has never been that guy.

Yeah, And I don't know, because here's my thing about
Paul George. That was dirty. I'm not saying Zaza, which,
by the way, the last time we played Golden State,
did you see he was sitting court side? Was sitting
there court side. I'm like, you better keep your feet
away from Wimby.

You know what I mean, Like they brought him deliberately
to sit court side.

You're a wonder Like what happens if, like if Kawhi
never lands on that win the championship, the trickle down
effect beyond just win the championship is quite say, oh yeah, exactly, Yeah.

He would have stayed. He would have done this.

It's almost like the what do they call it, like
the butterfly effect. Yeah, you know where it's like if
this would have happened, if this would have happened. But
I can tell you this, if that didn't happen, we
wouldn't have Wimby.

Let's just be honest. That's you know. I mean at
the end of the day, we don't know.

And I know people just they when I bring up
Kawhi and in the Spurs history segment, God do they
hate it.

And the thing is is, even the other day I
was listening to Dan and of course, the long time
play caller of the s Antonio Spurs on the radio
network Bill Shoning.

He was interviewing him.
Speaker 2 (09:50):
We don't talk enough about that seventeen team, that sixteen
seventeen team for for the Spurs, who had sixty seven
wins and they went forty and one at home. Who
goes forty and one? They did, But what sucks is
that a foot goes in there and kills it all.
I remember because I was covering post game and he

went down before halftime, and I think we were up
by like thirty. To be honest with you, it's like, ah,
we'll hang on. I'm listening all the way down going
over to the old studios back in the day, and
I'm just seeing the lead trickle and trickle and trickle
and trickle, and then you just kind of get onto
postgame and you're like, season's over.
Speaker 1 (10:33):
There was no way we were winning.
Speaker 2 (10:35):
That's why people hate Kawhi so much, Shane is because, yeah,
him going down eliminated the Big three could do nothing
about it because of age. Sorry, but that's the truth, right,
And then you try to you know, you had LaMarcus Aldridge.
Lamarct's Aldridge. There's a lot of people off too, right
because he kind of comes into San ANTOI He's like, well,

He doesn't really give us a lot.

So I guess the butterfly effect in this segment is
from the sixteen seventeen squad. It's the what if factor,
because what if this happens? But this happens, so we
moved down here. We barely get into the COVID play
in tournament. I think we got into that tournament. We
got invited out to Orlando during the bubble.
Speaker 3 (11:21):
Yeah, did we I think we did, but we didn't.
But they didn't qualify for the playoffs. I think they
were one of the Remember they only had like twenty
two teams who weren't yet eliminated.
Speaker 1 (11:30):
And then you watch.
Speaker 2 (11:31):
Kawhi leave and go get a championship in Toronto, and
then Fred Van Fleet likes to talk, which, by the way,
I think he got cursed because he's been out for
the season, so whatever, he wants to talk bad about Popovich,
which I'm like, bro, you have no chance to be
talking about him. Seriously, you just did that. And by
(11:51):
the way, Kawhi was only going to be there for
a season. I love the fact that we sent him
to Toronto and then we had DeRozan and everybody kind
of likes de Rozan and we're like, hey, you're the guy,
and of course we get rid of him. And then
you had that trade last season to bring in dearon
Fox to come in and play. Obviously, Chris Paul was
only gonna come in here for one season. But that's
(12:12):
what you're gonna start seeing in San Antonio. Now you're
gonna start seeing all these players wanting to come in
and play for Wimby.
Speaker 1 (12:17):
Lebron's kind of hinted at it, even though he wants
to retire. I really hope he retires.
