game series. Also, there was a lot of talk that
the Spurs and MAVs can meet up again, and the
Suns I believe like they kind of hobbled the way
through that series.
Speaker 1 (09:33):
The O five series, that was a good one.
Speaker 3 (09:36):
That one had me on the edge of my seat,
I'll tell you that much, because I didn't think it
was fair that Game five had to come down and.
Speaker 1 (09:43):
It was in Detroit, you know.
Speaker 3 (09:45):
And a shout out to Detroit and Larry Brown when
he was coaching them, because when we won game five,
everybody in San Antonio. You know, we were playing in
the River Parade in Game six, that was the first
Larry Brown put that piece of paper up in the
locker room at the Frost Bank Center and they won
Game six.
Speaker 2 (09:58):
Was that the first year or the second year after
Shaq had left the Lakers and they were like kind
of down for a little bit.
Speaker 3 (10:03):
That was after the Gary Peyton Carl Malone experience experiment
in LA and that's when Detroit beat them the year before,
and so after that, that's when Shaq started bouncing about
team to team. You know, Kobe stayed there of course,
but yeah, that was that Gary Peyton, Karl Malone.
Speaker 2 (10:20):
Robert you mentioned Robert Robert or he's kind of the
knowing Ryan of basketball because he won, because he won,
he was.
Speaker 3 (10:25):
Seven, right, seven championships, I think Texas. Yeah, and Steve
Kerr too, I mean, Steve Kerr is that guy. But yeah,
this series, and I also like to say this, I
don't really like to compare this team to the older teams.
Speaker 2 (10:41):
Right.
Speaker 3 (10:42):
It's because you know, when you look at teams, because
we're all die hard fans of each team, right, of
a certain team, like I am, Oh, you I am.
Speaker 1 (10:51):
Now I can talk to.
Speaker 3 (10:52):
My owe you family again, because yeah, I'm an Orioles fan,
like I like about the team, right, I like, so
really it's the Spurs, like I you know, we heard
it from Mike Erico. Spurs are back, you know. Okay,
it's just a new team, you know. And I've had conversations.
It's been in privilege to have these conversations with Dan
Whites throughout the season and Carl Shoning as well.
Speaker 1 (11:13):
Is like they're they're their own identity, you know when
you look at it.
Speaker 3 (11:18):
And they really stated their case back in November that
this was going to be a legit season. Well, Dylan,
that's two months into the season, I know. But beating
the Okac Thunder in the NBA Cup semi finals and people,
and I love you Okac fans, but y'all just were like, ah,
it doesn't matter.
Speaker 1 (11:37):
Yeah it does. Look at it now, look at it now.
Speaker 3 (11:41):
Both And if Adam Silver is not shining his shiny
little head today with this whole NBA Cup thing, right,
because now Adam.
Speaker 2 (11:50):
Saw someone and the thing is is now Adam Silver
can say for the rest of his time being the
commissioner this NBA Cup Finals is a success because the
Knicks and the Spurs are in the NBA Finals and
they were in the Cup final.
Speaker 1 (12:05):
You know how crazy is that for him? Today? That's
the trifecta for him, you know.
Speaker 3 (12:10):
And if you don't think that that Cup tournament now
in November doesn't mean anything, it really kind of gives
you a good look of who can come out of
the East and who can come out of the West,
because honestly, that Cup final has done that for the
past few years. But now the stars align and you've
got the Knicks and Spurs facing each other again, which
(12:31):
just means that the Spurs are gonna win it because
we didn't win the Cup final, right?
Speaker 1 (12:35):
Is that the way it works? Shane?
Speaker 2 (12:36):
Well, I mean, the Spurs beat the Thunder in the
Western Conference finals and they also beat them in the
Cup semis, so there might be hopefully there's hope there's
not the same correlation.
Speaker 1 (12:44):
Hopefully not. But you know, but what do you want
to do next?
Speaker 2 (12:47):
We got a little baseball SoC We'll also keep taking calls. Yeah,
we'll take your calls.
Speaker 3 (12:50):
