Good morning again and welcome now theHealth and Wellness Show here on one O
three point five FM and five sixtyAMBOC. Just waking up with us.
My name is Gary David and weappreciate you being along this morning. Coming
up, we'll talk about one ofmy favorite things to do, get out
of Lake Murray. My wife andI both with Mad Lions from care Free
Boat Club, and we talk aboutsome of the great specials they're running right
now during the fall season, gettinghealthy and getting it to stick and doing

(00:32):
it in just ninety days. TheHealth there's bridget channel by that is to
explain all that for us here.Let's get things underway though with Jeff Howe,
my friend over at Health Markets andthe Flight Deck restaurant shops in Lexington.
Jeff, good morning, sir,Good morning Gary. How are you
today? I'm doing good man.I hope you are well on this beautiful
Saturday morning. Hey. We reconveneda couple of weeks ago for the first

(00:56):
time this season, and now we'reinto it. It is Medicare open enrollment
and we've got what the symbol ofthe seventh is that right, that's correct?
Last day is December seventh, Okay, good. So now for folks
who have been on Medicare for awhile now and you know, just kind
of letting things ride, there arealways good reasons why you should at least,

(01:18):
you know, check into it becausethere may be better options for you.
Correct, that's correct. Even ifit's as simple as looking at a
different prescription drug card. Those changeevery year. Prescription drug cards go up
in premium, the formula areas couldchange, meaning your drug prices can change,
So it's always good to look atit every year. And then,

(01:40):
of course, those people on Medicareadvantage plans, it's definitely good to look
at it every year. For example, there's one company where my network is
not going to be in network rightnow on the Medicare advantage side, so
all those people on that plan havebeen letters about that. So every year

(02:02):
is different. So every year betweenOctober fifteenth and d ten percent of it's
good to sit down with an agent, whether it's someone like myself or the
current agent they have, and lookat all their options for next year.
You know, it sounds, Jeff, as though in any given year there
could be a lot of things totake a look at. Here, there
could be a lot of things thatcould change. That's correct, that's correct.

(02:24):
Premiums go up or premiums go downon different plans, benefits changed,
And we have carriers who greatly increasethe dental you know, they can go
from two thousand dollars in gental benefitsone year to in twenty twenty four,
that carris often three thousand, fivehundred dollars of gental buss. And if

(02:46):
that's not the plan that you're onand twenty twenty four, you might suspect
you have some dental work coming upthat might be a better fit for you
if all the other benefits you know, are kind of the same. So
you know, it's very particular toa person's needs, and we just look
We look at their needs, Welook at their doctors who look at their

(03:06):
prescriptions, and my services are freeto them, so I do all that
work and they don't have to worryabout it. They can come in for
thirty minutes or maybe even less, and we can look at all their benefits
and pay work to them and theycan go home and be happy and they
won't have to fret about it anymore. So for folks on the traditional medicare

(03:27):
the party, well, everybody gotto Part A and Part B anyway,
But going with a supplement and aprescription drug plan, would it be fair
to say that there are oftentimes fewerchanges if you go that route then if
you go with one of the advantageplans. So if you own the health
insurance, let's talk about the supplement. Okay, So once you purchase a

(03:50):
Medicare supplement, Let's say ten yearsago, you purchased a Plan F.
A Plan F is a traditional planwhere Medicare covers eighty percent covered the other
twenty percent in general, and youknow you don't pay anything when you go
to the doctor of hospital. Youronly change you're going to see on that
Plan F is premium. Every yearyou get older, that premium goes up.

(04:14):
It's an age based on policy, and an insurance company at any time
could raise the rates on that supplementfor everyone in the state. So you
know you're going to get a rateincrease on your birthday month, but you
could also get at another time duringthe year, possibly on a statewide basis.
That company would have to petition theSouth Crone Department of Insurance and get

(04:36):
that rate increase approved. But ifthey do, then your premiums could go
up once or twice a year onyour supplement, but the benefit of itself
on the plan F will not change. Now, it's the drug card that
you have to have that goes withit. That's separate, a separate card
that has a separate premium. That'swhere we're seeing a lot of changes in

(04:58):
twenty twenty four. Okay, Soso that might be reason enough to contact
I fail or someone like myself andtake a look at the prescriptive drug options
for next year during this open rollup here. And I want to ask
you something else about that that drugcard in a second. But first going
back to the annual increases of theage based increases, is that is that

(05:18):
pretty steady each year? A certainpercentage that goes up? But what what
what? What kind of numbers weretalking about? Jeff? It depends on
the company, Okay, but Iwould say anywhere between four to ten percent,
depending up all the companies. Anda person's with okay, all right,
So now back back to the drugcard here. Yeah, as you
said, there are a lot ofchanges coming up in twenty twenty four,

(05:39):
it seems like, so so let'stalk about some of those what sort of
changes are we looking at here?So there's some drug cards that have drastic
premium increases, huh, there aredrug cards that have drastic premium decreases.
Drug cards have changed the deductibles, some abras of deductibles on their on their
brand drugs. Some playing have decreasedtheir deductibles of their brand drugs. So

(06:01):
it's just very specific to the prescriptionsthat a person takes and we would tailor
it to them. And everyone who'son a drug card should have gotten a
letter notifying them of their changes, called the annual Notice of change letter.
Some people miss that letter, butsir, when they should know if their
drug card is going up in pricedramatically, and that would be the perfect

(06:26):
person for me to meet with becausethere may be another drug card out there
that better suits their needs. Okay, so the supplement changes on an annual
basis, just age based, butthat's typically about what we're looking at.
There nothing else in that coverage changesin the supplement. It's still the same,

(06:47):
but sometimes those premium increases can pricea person out of a supplement.
So you know, if you're youknow, if your supplement goes up to
two hundred and fifty dollars a month, and then you're drug cards. Now
seventy seven dollars a month. Youknow, three twenty seven on a fixed
income may just may be out ofyour price range, and so you may

(07:09):
start looking at that. A personmay look at the math. I say,
okay, if I take three twentyseven times twelve, you know,
and I add that up, youknow, to that number would be a
quick calculation on my calculator here retweeteven times twelve. Right, yeah,
but this is part of what wedo when we sit down with people is

(07:30):
do these calculations. Right, Sothat's about four thousand dollars, right,
it's over thirty nine hundred dollars. So if you could take that thirty nine
hundred dollars and put in the bankand instead get a zero premium Medicare advantage
plan, and the math becomes, you know, in a reasonable year,
would a person spend thirty nine hundreddollars on their copas right with the Medicare

(07:55):
advantage plan? And the answer isno. Now, of course, you
do no have the crystal ball. You can't predict the future. And there
are other considerations to look at withMedicare advantage versus the Medicare supplement. But
just looking at that basic mass ofthe premiums, you know, that's something
that we look at. You know, if you're only going to the doctor
two or three times a year formedication, prescription refills, and maybe one

(08:20):
or two specialists, that its peryear. You know, could we take
that thirty nine hundred dollars, putit in like a kind of a health
savings account, so to speak.Put it in the bank. You get
to keep that money instead of mailingof those premiums to insurance companies every month.
Get a zero premium Medicare advantage planthat gives you health insurance, prescription

(08:41):
drug coverage, and some extra benefitsplay dental vision, hearing, a discounts,
gym memberships, over the counter benefits, even money to buy food with
these some of these plans. That'ssomething to look at. Now, the
advantage plans again that comes with acopey and a deductible, is that right?

(09:05):
Most of them do not have deductibles. Also just have straight coping.
So for example, you know, say you paid ten dollars at the primary
doctor, thirty five dollars as aspecialist. You go in the hospital,
you pay three hundred and fifty dollarsa day for the first five days.
You know, these are the typeof framework a lot of these Medicare advantage
plans have, and they have maxamount of pocket limits. So for example,

(09:28):
in a bad year of a personwent to the hospital multiple times or
vanber Bid had chemo, there youknow, costs to add up. All
these Medicare advantage plans have a maxamount of pocket and a lot of them
are around six to nine thousand dollarsdepending upon the plan that we're talking about.
So there is a ceiling to yourrisk when you have a Medicare advantage

(09:52):
plan. So what almost sounds Jefflike if you've got you know, ten
thousand dollars give or take that you'vebeen able to set aside, and you
don't touch that money. You kindof leave it there like a like a
health savings account that the worst casescenario for any given year is you might
spend that ten thousand dollars on copays. It's going to max out at some
point in time. At the sametime, but you're not paying anything for

(10:15):
that plan. Yes, that's correct, you've got it, and so's that's
just year one. So let's sayyear one, you have a good year.
Year two, you have a goodyear. Now you've saved right out
about you know, seven to eightthousand dollars in premiums that you would have
paid for that Medicare supplement a drugcard just now in your money that you've
got your saving account. And thenyou put on top of that the two

(10:41):
to three thousand dollars in Medicare advantageplans give you for dental coverage and vision
coverage and hearing a discounts and allthese all these extras that you're getting.
The value adds that be the moreso when you sit down with folks,
Jeff, folks like me who youknow, I gotta I gotta look at
that soon here, I'm sixty fourthis year. Do you find that folks
who are you know, at theyounger end of that spectrum, do they

(11:03):
tend to gravitate towards the supplement orthe advantage plan And does that change with
age? That's a good question. So in twenty twenty two, which is
the last year they have statistics for, was the first year that more Medicare
advantage plans were sold over Medicare supplementreally, so it was fifty one percent

(11:24):
Medicare advantage compared to the traditional lateof doing Medicare. So the trend is
going towards Medicare advantage. And Ibelieve Micky Haley talked about Medicare advantage last
week and see the proponent of it. It was the Medicare advantage was a
plan during the George W. Bushadministration in two thousand and four, enacted

(11:45):
in two thousand and six the MedicareAdvantage and Prescription Drug Plan Act. So
it is it's a trend is goingthat way because frankly, it makes Medicare
advantage plan make a lot of sensenow saying that there are disadvantages to a
Medicare advantage plan that I always educatemy clients about, such as Medicare advantage

(12:11):
is a network based plan. NowI only sell PPOs, which is a
lot different than an HMO. APPO essentially means that you can go in
or out of network as long asthe carrier you know will take Medicare and
your PPO card and file, you'refine. But now an HMO, which

(12:31):
I do not sell, is avery tight network, which means you can
only go to certain doctors in network, certain specialists, certain hospitals, but
these PPO plans, many of themare zero premium. For example, Blue
Cross Blue Shield has a zero premiumand a nineteen dollars premium plan. Every
hospital in the states the network,So the network concerns with a plan like

(12:56):
that, are you know or notso bad? And you can actual can
travel to forty eight different states andyou with the Blue Cross plan and have
end network coverage. The question, yeah, so you cross cross state lines,
You're you're pretty safe with a planlike that. It sounds like that's
right, and with the the youknow or other companies as well. You
know, the PPO travels across statelines. That's right. Now, the

(13:18):
traditional the supplement that that that doestoo correct, that's right. So when
you do it the traditional way,Medicare is primary. So your only question
to a doctor a hospital, whetherin state or out of state, is
do you take Medicare? And thenthe supplement rides along with the primary medicare,
So you're you're definitely good across statelines with the traditional method. And

(13:41):
I'm not predisposed to one method orthe other. Frankly, they're both.
They both work for my clients, and so it's really particklar to that particular
client I'm sitting with is which solutionfits them the best, and that solution
may change, right, So onemay start out with the supplement and have
it for two or three years, and they'll come back to me during this

(14:01):
open roll and say, Jeff,I'm just not going to doctor that much
and I'm tired of mailing these checksoff every month. Let's look at the
Medicare advantage solution that happens every daynow. And we've talked about this before,
but it can go. You justcan't willingly switch between one and the
other every year, can you.I mean there are stipulations and restrictions.

(14:22):
Is that right? There are restrictions, especially on the supplement. So between
October seventh and excuse between October fifteenthand December seventh, if you're on a
Medicare advantage plan, you can alwayschange to another Medicare advantage plank, No
worry. Okay. If you're ona Medicare supplement a drug card between October

(14:43):
fifteenth and December seventh, you canchoose to switch to a Medicare Advantage plan
any year during that time, Noworry, all right. The issue becomes
if you're on a supplement and youchange that advantage plan. You essentially have
a one year free look if you'venever been on a Medicare advantage plan before,
for those twelve months. So ifthey you know, someone's on to

(15:05):
suppling a drug card, they comeinto my office today, they choose a
Medicare advantage plan which begins January one, twenty twenty four, they essentially have
to December thirty one, twenty twentyfour, where they can call me and
say, Jeff, I want togo back on my supplement and there'll be
no underwriting, there'll be no questionsasked. I can put them right back
on the supplement they're on. Okay. However, once that year goes through,

(15:28):
and now we're in January second, twenty twenty five, if they call
me, then I can write anapplication for a Medicare supplement for them,
but there will be health questions, there'll be underwriting, so it's not guaranteed.
So that's the stipulation. Okay,so you can go back to it,
but your healths going to be abig issue, a big factor here,

(15:50):
that's right. And so you thinkyou know who would call me on
January second, twenty twenty five ifthey're paying zero bring on a Medicare advantage
and everything's going well, right,Yeah, it's probably someone who may have
something may have happened, and they'relike, you know, I'm just and
they're a little concerned about the copasthey would have on a Medicare advantage plan,

(16:11):
and so at that point I don'tknow if they would pass through underwriting
or not. So that's that's somethingI talked with all my clients about.
Now we'll make a pitch for blueCross in this regard. If you're turning
sixty five, like you know,Gary, you're coming up and you choose
a blue Cross Medicare advantage plan, blue Cross has extended that trial period of

(16:33):
thirty six months, so they'll giveyou three years where you can try that
Blue Cross Medicare advantage plan. Andin that three year period, if you
decide you'd rather have a supplement, you could have it guaranteed issued to a
Blue Cross Medicare supplement. So thatis a very big feather in Blue Cross's
Medicare advantage cap. There's the onlycompany who has extended that to thirty six

(16:56):
months of the postage twelve. Okay, So this is is private insurance companies
rules, not the government's rules.Well, essentially the government rule is twelve
months yet the minimum it has tobe. And lukera Off is the only
company that has extended at the thirtysix points. Okay, good, all
right. Well, a lot ofquestions that folks have, and again,

(17:18):
as you mentioned, they can sitdown and talk with you. It doesn't
cost them a dime. That's right. It's free to call me at eight
zero three six seven eight eight onetwo one. That's eight zero three six
seven eight eighty one twenty one.You can call or text that number.
And my office is right beside theflight deck restaurant and elections welcome to come
down at any time. There yougo, say hi to Ted Formula the

(17:41):
flight deck one. Thanks what itis? Thanks Garry, all right,
thank you, Jeff, appreciate anybody, And that I said, Jeff,

and I are back on Leg Murraythis summer. Y'all. Look out.
We're out there. But we loveboating. We've owned three different boats over

(18:26):
the course of our years together. And you know it took us three to
finally realize, you know, asmuch fun as it is, boy,
it is sure a hassle. Sowe don't own a boat anymore. But
we are now members of the careFree Boat Club out at Leg Murray and
we have, like you will whenyou join us, unlimited use of boats,
unlimited use of wave runners and kayaks, and free access and use of

(18:48):
boats at over one hundred and thirtylocations all across the nation. They got
a great fleet over at to careFree Boat Club. They have a double
decker pontoon, love it, tryto ski boats, a center line console
fishing boat, I mean you nameit, all of them loaded, loaded,
and the industry's best member to boatratio. And they can prove it

(19:11):
to you get more access to boatswhen you want to be out on Lake
Murray, and by joining the careFree Boat Club this cost about one third
the cost annually of actually owning aboat. So skip the hassles and just
enjoy the fun like we are withCarefree Boat Club. Find out more by
calling eight three three four two sixtwenty eight forty four or by going to

(19:32):
carefreeboats dot com Carefree Boat Club Boatingwithout owning. It's about time this beautiful
weekend, whether get out and enjoyit and for many folks that will be
getting out on Lake Murray. Ilove being on the lake this time of
the year. I just love it. Matt Lions Now Carefree Boat Club out

(19:52):
of Lake Murray steps in behind themicrophone. Morning, how you doing,
bud It? Morning? Real good? How about yourself? Beautiful? Yeah,
there's a lot of reasons why Ilike being on the lake this time
of the year. Unfortunately this weekendI can't get out. There too many
other things going on in life unfortunatelyfor the last about month. But we're
working our way back out. Noonly I mean you can actually you know,

(20:14):
stop the boat in the middle ofthe water and don't have to keep
moving or get in. Yeah, right, I mean are those times of
the year where you don't want tostop for more than about five minutes.
You're gonna like melt And again,I mean this time of the year.
Sure they're both out on the lameory, but it's not like summertime. You
pretty much have the run of theplace if you will. Yeah, nothing
lake as busy as it gets. The way I look at this time of

(20:36):
year, son, still out water, still wet, people are still having
fun, and there's a lot lesspeople out there. I'd remember call me
this past weekend on Saturday, whichhistorically is our busiest day, and they
called me at ten am and said, hey, Matt, are there any
boats available today within the club? And my answer was yes, all but
one. I can tell you there'sa lot less people on the water because

(20:57):
even our members aren't going out asmuch right now. But it's still a
great time to get out, Ohabsolutely it is. I love getting out
of the side of the ear ofthe water. Oh well, so,
now, when when we last spoke, you were you had a heck of
a deal, Yes, running ona on a you know for new members,

(21:18):
correct, for a couple of reasons. Yep. Yeah, well the
deal's actually gotten a tad bit better, oh, enhanced meaning. And but
this will be the last month oftwenty twenty three we're signing up new members
and in October is it October's itOctober thirty? First come Halloween, we're
going to close up new membership untilFebruary. In February, our price will
go up substantially. So right nowwe're still offering eighty percent off the initiation

(21:44):
fee, and we're actually doing nopayments of any kind until February. Oh
really, Yeah, we're going tocarry you. You have full access to
the boats, but we're just notgoing to charge anything over the holiday months
because we know people want to spendmoney on care bears or whatever they got
to buy for their kids. Wow. Okay, so eighty person off of
the initiation fee or that's a substantialsavings right there obviously, yep. And

(22:07):
then basically it's free boating until Februaryyep, yep. And then come February,
the initiational fee will be two anda half times what it is today
with the special with the specialist yep. And then it'll be going up incrementally
as we get closer and closer thesummer, and it'll peak at the full
five thousand dollars initiation fee price comeJune. We've got a very clear path

(22:29):
and program going forward. The sooneryou sign up, the better I can
manage the business. I know howmany boats to buy, I know how
many slips to get all that stuff. So we're motivating people to sign up
before twenty twenty four so we canjust better plan the business. So I
do my math right in my head, which is always a scary thing for
me. What would be a fivethousand dollars initiation fee is not one thousand

(22:52):
dollars a thousand bucks? Correct,We've got that right, you did.
We're very proud of all. Theaudience is very proudy, but everybody listening
things I got I calculated while Iwas stolen there. Now, that was
all done right there in the oldlogan. So so for one thousand dollars,
yep, you can boat from nowuntil February. Correct, no additional
costs other than the gas you use, but that's up to you off far

(23:15):
you want to go. And that'sactually this is something we plan on doing
every year. And if you wantto get a great deal. Next year,
it'll be in October again, butyou're going to miss out on another
season. So ultimately the idea hereis new members will get in, they'll
join the club, they'll do theirtraining, which with the care freeze completely
included, and then they'll get outin the winter months, get out and

(23:37):
understand the lake and get around andkind of see where they want to go,
what they want to do. We'regonna have boats on the water all
year, so you want to goout on Christmas Eve, if you go
right ahead, wear coat, butthe boat, the boats will be there.
But it helps us better plan howmany boats to get for next year,
sure, how many slips to putthose boats in and so forth.
And then come February we'll open membershipsup again and it'll be at that point

(24:00):
twenty five hundred dollars for initiation feeand the monthly stays the same regardless when
you join. So you got aboutthree weeks and a couple of days left
to take advantage of that. Yes, that's a fabulous offer for it.
It really is. And it tooka while for us to figure out if
we want to do it, becauseI didn't want to make current members upset.
That that paid a premium, andI had to wrap my hands around
the fact that they had all somewere to enjoy it. And if you

(24:22):
know, if someone joins the sametime next year that they joined this year,
it'll be the same price or more. We're not going to ever offer
a deal lower than this because thisis kind of that year in special.
Let's let's get ahead of twenty twentyfour, let's get more people to enjoy
the lake, and let's better planour business. Excellent. Now, we
also got about your expansion plans.Ye, any news there no news yet.

(24:47):
We're still going. We're still workingwith the bank, we're still working
with the sellers, we're still undercontract with the former fraid not on the
north side of the lake. Ifeel very confident it will close. It
just takes a little bit of timebecause it's not as easy he is buying
a home, the different appraisals,a lot of different things like that.
But we are still moving forward withthat expansion. If anyone joins because of

(25:07):
the upcoming north side location, andfor whatever reason it doesn't happen before spring
of next year and we don't getoperating and opening, we will give their
money back as well, so we'renot going to sign people up and then
not have that location. We feelconfident enough that we will have it.
Things are going great. The realtorinvolved, Rack Kelly's been awesome, The

(25:29):
owner Phillip's been great to work with. So we're just working through the particulars.
And again, as a member ofCarefree bo club a Lake Murray,
you'll be able to once, assumingthat does come through, you'll be able
to say a lout of either location. Absolutely. Yeah, there's no additional
charge, no additional work, noadditional anything to utilize both locations on Lake
Murray as often as you want.Cool, and it makes sense because Carefree

(25:53):
Boat Clubs is a national chain. It's actually we'll technically say we're international.
We do have a few locations outsideof the US. I think we've got
one in the Philippines, we've gotone in a couple in the Caribbean,
I believe, and so forth. But yeah, for so now you've got
my attention. So me being amember, I could go down to wherever

(26:15):
it is in the Caribbean there's aCarefree Boat Club and I can just walk
right up, Ye, hop ona boat, yep, get out in
that beautiful Caribbean water, you cando that for sure. Puerto Rico.
We've got a location there. We'vegot sixty plus locations in Florida. You
can go and enjoy that's that's wonderfulwater. And at some point soon I'll

(26:37):
open up a location where I wantto retire, which will be probably Belize
or Rota or somewhere like that.So that'll be my excuse to right off
trips to go down there. Hereyou go, that's brilliant, brilliant.
So for folks who are let's saythey have never boted before and they're thinking,
well, you know, this ishow does Yeah, if you've never

(27:00):
been on the water before, it'sa lot of reasons why this is a
great time to take advantage of whatyou're doing. Absolutely Number one, you're
getting in you know, quote unquoteon the cheap, absolutely right, yep.
And you're getting free boating for fourmonths yep, five months. But
I can see somebody says, oh, I'm not going to give out a

(27:21):
try, but I I have noidea what's going on. No, I've
never never gotten a you know, behind the wheel of a boat. How
do you guys, what's this traininglook like? I know for my family.
I mean we we'd own boats inthe past, so it was pretty
quick. And yep, we caterthe training. It's one on one with
our general manager, and we caterthe training to whatever build us. By

(27:42):
the way, good to hear, glad to herr. He's doing his job.
No, he's a real good guyand he's really good at training as
well. And we cater it towhatever your experience is. So we've got
members who have been voting their entirelife, and it's a fifteen to thirty
this is what's going on, andthese are difference of the boats and so
forth. We have people that havenever touched a boat in their life,

(28:03):
and we walk them from beginning toend as long as it takes. We
have one member who it took twodifferent times with the training, multiple hours
each time. And then we puther out on what I call our slowest
boat. That's also the only boatthat wasn't brand new this year. It
was it was a year old,and we have it so you can dig
it up a little bit if youneed to, and so forth. And

(28:26):
now now she takes out the TipsyTurtle, which is our double decker,
and I actually just shout out toour friends at coast to coast. I
just bought a second double decker.Oh you did get it done? Okay,
we did about that all right.Yep, yep, that one.
They're putting the motor on it rightnow. I probably won't put it in
the water until spring, just becauseno reason. They have it set at
a dock. They were barely usingthe one that's in the water now.

(28:48):
And this one has a slide offthe back, but it goes off the
side, not straight off the back, so the current one kind of shoots
you out in the water out theback. Some people get a little larry
because it's near the motor. It'scompletely fine. No one's ever hit the
motor. But this one comes forthen and currently right now. What's fun

(29:10):
is this is the time of yearwe start taking the boats out of the
water. We start looking at howwe clean them up. Can we detail
them, Will they look good enoughfor a second season, or do we
want to sell them for and replacethem with brand new for the second season.
We don't keep our boats longer thantwo seasons, and it depends on
the boat itself and how it's beento us this year. If we want
to keep it for that second seasonor not. We're adding to the fleet

(29:33):
and all that fun stuff. I'mactually taking a trip to Dallas and to
Arkansas in the next four weeks tolook at new boat manufacturers out there to
see if I want to carry theirbrand or not. We but you got
in the fleet right now because it'sbeen growing. I know, yep,
we've got ten boats in the fleetright now. Well, and then in
the double decker that's over at Coastto coast will be eleven. So this

(29:56):
will least me to ask you thisbecause if you're considering joining a boat club,
what is the most important consideration? What do people need to be thinking
about it? First? First,up, first, and foremost. Everyone
asks how much does it cost? That's everyone's biggest concern right now it's one
thousand dollars right now, it's almostfree. But that's actually not the right

(30:17):
question to ask. The right questionis how many members per vote? Because
the simple truth is, if Isign up fifty members per bote, I
can offer a boat club membership fora dollar a month and I'll be fine.
You'll hate the experience, it'll bea horrible club, and you won't
stay past whatever you're committed to inthe contract. But what we've done this
year at Carefree is we've kept itto a three members per one boat ratio,

(30:40):
which gives people tons of access tothe boats. That's what's most important.
So every boat club needs to beable to tell you their member to
boat ratio and needs to be ableto prove that member to boat ratio every
time a member logs on. Whenyou log into our system, you see
what our current member to boat ratiois. Yeah. Yeah, And I
suspect that membership fees are probably fairlyuniform across the boat club world. I

(31:03):
mean they're pretty close. Yeah, yeah, yeah, not that big of
a difference, but yeah, you'reright. The big thing you want to
know is that that that ratio rightthere. Yep. And with you guys,
so you have an online portal youcan use, but you don't have
to, I mean, if youjust a spur of the moment thing.
Not a problem, not a problemat all. We allow reservations in the

(31:26):
system, four of them at anyone time. People always say, so
that's four a month. No,it's four at any one time. When
you use the reservation opens up foryou to use it again and then we
allow unlimited spur of the moment. So if you wake up in the morning
like my member did last weekend, shoot me at text, give me a
call, shoot Bred a call, shoot Bread a text, and just say,
hey, are there any boats availabletoday? As long as the boat's

(31:48):
there, we're happy to have youtake it out. It's not a problem
at all. And as you mentioned, you guys are there, you're you're
there with regardless of the season, you're there. Yep, we're there right
now six days a week Tuesday throughSunday, and then we have one member
who likes to go on on Mondaysbecause that's their day off, and we
every time they've asked so far haveaccommodated them without even being open. We've

(32:08):
just kind of figured out when they'regoing to be there. We show up
to get the boats started, cleanedoff for them, send them on their
way, and then we're there whenthey come back as well, So we're
technically made all seven days a weekwork. Once we close on the freight
not and we start operating out ofthere, we will be seven days a
week out of there because we'll alsobe running the gas stock as well,

(32:28):
so we'll have extended hours and bethere more often and so forth. If
we're there, we're going to putpeople out on boats. Well, what
one of the the Knox people haveabout Lake Murrays, they're not enough places
to eat, which is true, they're not, and the Freynt used to
be, you know, obviously aplace to eat. There any plans to
reopen that portion of it as well, Yep, it'll absolutely be open again.

(32:50):
The tiki hut, which has afull kitchen and so forth, that'll
be opened probably thirty to forty fivedays after we close on the deal,
regardless of the time of year. And then my hope is by spring the
full restaurant will be open as well, whether that's under my team managing that
or we leased that out to agood operator. So they'll make a lot
of boaters happy, it will,I hope. So I'm a fan that,

(33:13):
like many people in in the Lexingtonarea Columbia area, I come from
the Midwest, so I come froma completely different world. I've never seen
a lake this size, this beautiful, that lacks so much activity going on
in it. I mean there, you know, is there a reason for
that? I mean other than theland is expensive obviously, I mean,
but even that it shouldn't be LikeI'm used to Southern Wisconsin lakes. They

(33:35):
are about one hundred and fifty acresand there'll be forty boats on them in
any given weekend, all going inthe same circle because that's all you can
do. And people say it's superbusiness. Yeah, if people say it's
super busy down here, I'm like, it's really not. I used to
have a place in the Ozarks. The Ozarks has a bar and grill every
eight feet along the water. Imean they really they went too far in

(33:55):
my mind with it. It createsan unsafe environment almost. But there's definitely
room for more activity on the lakefor sure, and I think we're gonna
see that. I think there's arestaurant that's opening up at South Shore Marina.
They just had some delays in construction. That'll that's where you guys are
located, right next to South Shorga. Absolutely yep. So they'll be opened

(34:16):
up for this coming season without adoubt. San Jose is just down the
way from us. I think they'llbe opened up as well as San Jose
exactly. They've definitely done something rightthere. So yeah, that's two more
eateries on the Lake fred Not willbe opened under a new name by next
season as well, Buffalo Freid. So yeah, that'll work. That'll work.

(34:42):
That'll o. You know. Ikind of like from the names of
my boats. I kind of likean animal name, whether it be Tipsy
Turtle, Party, Pelican or whateverit is. So my my previous renditions
of bar and grills were all calledthe Chubby Bullfrog. Uh so you may
see a chubby bullfrog Tiki hut,you may not. Haven't quite decided to
get but we'll do something that'll makesense. Matt, Good to see you.
Bye. Let's recap quickly again. The special for this month is one

(35:07):
thousand dollars one time initiation fee.We never charge that or any type of
annual fee. Again, pay nothingat all except the gas you use between
now and February first, and thenpay the normal monthly from then on.
This is our last month signing upnew members until February when we open back
up, when everything will cost alittle bit more. All right, So

(35:28):
to get a hold of you, what's the best way to do it.
You can do it by giving usa call eight three three four boat four
to four, or you can shootme an email at Matt Matt at carefreeboats

(37:52):
and a and a coach are youthe head coach of the health there.
Can we call you a head coachbridget I can say that, you can
say that there. It's always goodto have you with us. Good morning
til Yeah, there are all thereare a lot of things when it comes
to your health that the health therecan help you with. That you guys
make a promise yes to do certainthings or give folks back there might tell

(38:15):
us about that. Absolutely, wepromise to reverse the symptoms of type two
diabetes, high blood pressure, highcholesterol, sleep at mea ibs and help
you lose weight in inches within thirtydays or your money back. And today
I thought we would talk about highblood pressure because it is such a common

(38:38):
conditions. Probably I would say oneof the number one things that we deal
with at the healthcare. And it'skind of funny because if we talk to
people in the office, kind ofthe first thing they say is I got
a little high blood pressure, butit's no big deal, right yeah,
yeah, So today I want totalk about the fact that it is a
big deal. You know, highblood pressure not only can lead to other

(39:00):
existing symptoms and issues, but itcan cause them. So a little high
blood pressure is nothing to nod at. So first I thought we talk about
what is high blood pressure. Youknow, you may not know what it
actually is, you know, sohigh blood pressure or hypertension occurs when your
blood vessels are too narrow for theblood being pumped through them, so you've

(39:22):
got more blood than you've got vessels. You got these tiny little little vessels
all through your body that pump bloodto and from your heart. And if
your blood pressure is considered high,it's considered high if it reads about one
thirty over eighty. You know, even worse is one forty over ninety.
So if you get a blood pressurereading, you know, one hundred and

(39:42):
eighty over over one tens, Imean, that's steps life threatening speak medical
treatment. Right away, I thinkwe've all stuck our hands in those cuffs
in the CBS pharmacy, you know, or you know, my kids always
jump on those machines and then playaround with the high blood pressure. But
seriously, you really do need tocheck that blood pressure as frequently as possible,
especially as you start to get overthe age of fifty. And you

(40:07):
know, that's why the healthcare isa cellular health program. We are based
on hydration, hydration, hydration, you know, your body has three thirty
trillion cells. It's made up aboutthirty trillion, and about three hundred and
thirty billion of those cells are replacedevery single day. So it's not as

(40:27):
hard to reverse the symptoms of highblood pressure as you would think. Have
the right hand, So every sevenyears, our body or place is all
the body and we completely regenerate. So whatever you've been doing for the last
seven years is pretty much who youare. If you've been doing barbecue and
and ice cream and we've said alot of recliner times. Yeah, I

(40:50):
don't know anybody like that. BridgetWell, Hey, you know we all
were quarantined last year, and youknow it's to be expected with the high
high stress American life. So someof the symptoms of high blood pressure.
You know what's sneaky about high bloodpressure is it doesn't really have any symptoms.
You know, it's kind of thesilent enemy. You can't really tell

(41:14):
if you have high blood pressure otherthan going to your doctor and getting a
reading. By the time you havethe severe symptoms like the dizzyness, the
headaches, nosebleeds, those are likeyou know, your heart's about to explode,
you know, it's time to rushto the hospital. But most people
don't have symptoms of high blood pressure. You know that they have a bad

(41:35):
knee, or they or they falland hurt themselves, or they're having low
energy. To get their testosterone checksand oh, their doctor comes back and
says, hey, buddy, you'vegot high blood pressure, but you may
not know it. So that's usuallywhen our clients come into us is when
their wives have dragged them into thedoctor, or women are getting around menopause.
They finally do that, you know, blood work at age fifty five

(41:58):
and it comes back high blood pressure. You know. So you're right,
this is something that probably anybody listeningright now, if you went and grabbed
the blood pressure cuff, you're probablygoing to find that for most people it's
above one point thirty over eighty, right right, And our clients want to
know, you know, what causeshigh blood pressure. You know, a

(42:20):
lot of people come into our officeshereditary. My mom had a high blood
pressure, My grandfather had high bleasure, and I would agree with that.
You know, there is some validityand there's some scientific evidence that blood pressure
can be passed down, But believeor not, that's pretty rare. It's
more likely that you inherited your mom'saffinity for red velvet cake. Don't get

(42:43):
me started. Your health habits arealso passed on by your parents, so
sometimes it's hard to decide whether it'shereditary or whether your Grandma's devil chocolate cake
and hereditary. You know. Sothere's two different kinds of hypertension or high
blood pressure that we study at thehealthcare So the first one is primary hypertension.

(43:07):
There's not really any reason. Itjust develops over several decades. It
can just be you know, that'swhere cellular health comes in. Little toddlers
are born with seventy percent water intheir cells. I mean, they may
have seventy percent water. They're hydrated, they're healthy. Whereas the older you
get, the more dehydrated you become, your cells would start turning into you're
raising. And high blood pressure isall about hydration in those cells, you

(43:31):
know, hydration carrying that blood toand from those those vessels, being hydrated
and lubricated and things like that.So sometimes you just get dehydrated over decades.
The second kind of high blood pressureis secondary hypertension, and that can
be aggravated by an underlying condition. So often when we see clients come in

(43:54):
that have sleep ATNA, they havehigh blood pressure, If they have high
cholesterol, all it's blocking the arteries. They have high blood pressure. If
they have type two diabetes, theinsulin can't communicate with the cells. They
have high blood pressure. If they'reon medicines or statins, there's certain things
those medications can even aggravate the highblood pressure. So almost all of the

(44:15):
time, just about every client,I would say, ninety nine point five
percent of our clients, whether theyhave sleep ATMA, type two diabetes,
or something else going on, theyall have a little sidekick called hypertension.
Oh interesting. I guess when youstop and think about a bridget you know,
everything runs by that blood moving throughthose vessels, and anything that impedes

(44:39):
that is going to lead to asyou mentioned a host of other issues.
It'll just just yeah, let meask you something about you talk about hydration
a lot and hydrating their cells, and would it be nice? Was just
as simple as just drinking off water? But I mean it really is,
and I mean there's there's more toit than just drinking a bunch of water.

(45:00):
Absolutely well, when you have ahigh blood pressure in the cells and
raisins versus grapes. You don't wantyour cells to look like raisins. You
wanted to look like grapes, youknow. And so the first thing we
do, we'll leave the doctor's officeand he says, buddy, you've got
high blood pressure. First thing youdo is say, I'm gonna pay off
the coke, lay out the sweettea, I'm gonna drink water, maybe
drop five pounds. But it's notthat easy, Gary, When your cells

(45:22):
have become atrophied, when they arein that raisin like state, when you
drink water, the outer shell ofthat cell membrane en hardened, so the
water cannot penetrate the cell. Thewater basically goes around the cell and just
pee out the water you drink. So there's doing a lot of pea and
going on, but not a lotof absorbing and hydration going on. So

(45:45):
it's the health there. We havefigured out how to open the cell.
So we have clients to come inthat have these fancy alkaline water machines and
they are completely dehydrated. There isdehydrated as our four hundred pound diabetics.
Not how much water you drink,it's how much you absorb. So you
need a cellular health technology in orderto be able to do that. And

(46:07):
at the health there, that isthe entire crux of our program. It's
hydration, hydration, hydration. Soyou're telling me that if you know anybody
who just goes and gets that bigold maybe that gallon milk jug of water.
You see it all the time, especially if you go to a gym
and they tote around the big oldguy. You're just drinking all day long.

(46:28):
But if if as soon as youdrink it, your head to the
to the restroom and it's moving rightthrough you, then it's really not doing
you any good. That's right, that's right. Well, I'm not going
to say drinking water isn't doing goodbecause water is always good of your body
system to operate on water. Butwhen you get to that age where you're
over fifty five, you have highblood pressure, high cholesterol, I'll sleep

(46:49):
at me. You know, highblood pressure, your body is is dehydrated
and it takes a lot more topenetrate those cells and truly flush out that
belly fat, lush out that toxicityand that inflammation that's causing the high blood
pressure. And you know, thediets that are high in fat and all
those things. Those are causing thathigh blood pressure. Also stress, so

(47:15):
many of our clients are taking careof their grandkids, or taking care of
their bosses, or live in theAmerican Dream taking care of their elderly parents.
Stress also causes high blood pressure. So you not only need a good
diet, a good way to absorbwater, but you also need a health
coach and a licensed counselor that canhelp you navigate those boundaries in your life.

(47:37):
Because here's the thing, Gary,You know, a lot of men
come in, fold their arms overthat big belly, stare me right in
the eye. Say I was aformer athlete, I was a former football
player. I just got a littlejust got a little high blood pressure.
I'm fine. But here's the reality. I see that right now. Yeah.
The risk factors of high blood pressurestraight from the male clinic. Okay,

(48:01):
heart attacker, stroke. You're somuch higher risk for heart attack and
stroke when you have high blood pressureafter the age of fifty, aneurysms,
Okay, heart failure, weakened andnarrow blood vessels in your kidneys. Kidney
failure is rampant in older ages.Okay, thickened and narrow or torn blood

(48:22):
vessels in the eyes. We're talkinglosing your eyesight, having to get thicker
glasses. Metabolic syndrome, it flowsdown your metabolism. You can't lose weight,
you get even more belly fat, your blood pressure sky rocket even higher,
get more sleep at me up,trouble with memory, you know,
dementia. So these are the thingsthat cause high blood pressure. So when

(48:45):
they say a little high blood pressure, my eyebrows go up. Because as
a health coach, I've seen peoplewho have decided to change their lives,
and I've seen people who have decidednot to. We had a client come
in about three months ago and hesaid, I've got to change my life.
He had high bloodbish or high cholesterol, sleep agnia, tide your diabetes,

(49:07):
and he said, I'm going tosign up for the program, but
I'm gonna wait two weeks. Comingin two weeks from now. He had
a heart attack before he came back. And the thing is about the cells.
If we have thirty trillion cells inour body and three hundred and thirty
billion of them regenerate every day,a couple of days of eating healthy using

(49:30):
the healthcare technologies on a cellular level. To hydrate those cells goes so far.
And that's why we offer a thirtyday money back guarantee because we can
help you regenerate those cells and immediatelybegan reversing those symptoms immediately. So it
doesn't take long together to get onthe path. Right, absolutely, I've

(49:55):
experienced that. And by the way, Bridge, I got to tell you
that my life and I had justwrapped up ninety days with y'all. I've
told the story before. Second timewe've done it, because the first time
was pre pandemic, right, soyou know, right exactly, but just

(50:15):
I mean, just like the firsttime I did it, I lost almost
the same thirty pounds of body fat. Incredible, and it's just and interestingly
enough, the first time we didthis, it wasn't long after was a
few months afterwards that we that wesold our home and moved and I reflected
afterwards about how well I would nothave been able to get through the physicality

(50:37):
of all that had I been inmy prior state. Well, interestingly enough,
we're actually in the process of justjust wrapped up a home edition project,
and so once again, you know, here I go, you know,
burning the midnight oil painting and doingeverything else and moving stuff and all
that. It occurred to me onceagain that I just would not have had

(50:58):
the energy and the still to dothat. Yeah, doesn't happened last year.
I mean it really is amazing.Oh yes, and it's incredible how
fast we're able to flush out bellyfat help reverse those symptoms of high blood
pressure. And it's not just dietand exercise. You know, you can
go on any diet and it works. For a minute, we're talking about
complete body transformation, hydration, buildingmuscle, losing fat. But it's so

(51:22):
easy. You don't have to goto the gym, you don't have to
sacrifice the food you love. Istill have my Ribbie baked potato. I
mean, you don't have to doa servation rabbit diet. But I think
what it comes down to is thatyou just can't do these types of things
alone. You know, I'm ahealth coach and I need a health coach.
Bridget, Thank you so much.Thank you. And what is that
