Speaker 1 (00:00):
If you're gonna watch the splashdown of Artemis two tonight,
We've got some interesting things for you to know before
you watch it. Trishall fulfill us in in the story
We Love in Just a Moment's JB and Sandy's show.
I don't think you really have to talk to anybody
to ask them how the George Straight Show was last night,
because all the George Straight shows are good, right.
Speaker 2 (00:17):
No.
Speaker 3 (00:17):
I ended up driving by the Moody after a little
happy hour meetup. I was heading home, and like I
was saying on the other day on the radio, I
was like, Man, George strait's a show you dress up
especial a cash Yeah, And sure enough when I drove by,
people were looking pretty nice.
Speaker 1 (00:34):
Yeah. I've seen some video on social and look like
Good Time is going to do it again tomorrow night.
Our fingers are crossed for the Gary Allen Show tonight,
which is at the Round Rock Amphitheater. We're going to
be out there to see us come by and say hi.
That should be a really really good show. Trisha, Let's
talk about Artemis two. Yep.
Speaker 4 (00:51):
Artemis two.
Speaker 5 (00:52):
The splash down is scheduled for about eight oh seven tonight,
Eastern time. It's gonna be off the coast of San Diego.
And here's the things that are happen as they're getting ready.
First of all, yesterday they tightened everything down inside the capsule,
like tightened anything down that might be loose, because they
are going to be re entering at twenty five thousand
miles an hour.
Speaker 1 (01:11):
So you're stressed out about pulling your airstream image what
this is?
Speaker 3 (01:14):
So I knows, I love anything with an engine, but
nothing that flies.
Speaker 4 (01:20):
Stay on the ground.
Speaker 5 (01:21):
They are going to experience another six minute blackout. Remember
when they went on the other side of the Moon,
they had a forty minute blackout, communications blackout. Then it's
going to be a ten thousand degree re entry temperature,
which is talking about like sun standing on the Sun
type temperatures. And then as they get closer to Earth,
(01:43):
their parachutes deploy, and these little parachutes have to stop
them from going twenty five thousand miles an hour to
twenty miles an hour for when they splash down in
the water.
Speaker 1 (01:51):
Yeah, I saw an astronaut last night talking about it.
He goes like, twenty miles an hour of impact is
not too bad. Sounds pretty rough to me three miles
an hours pretty fast.
Speaker 3 (02:00):
Yeah, And I heard him saying they had some concerns
about the shield. The shield, and I'm like, no, that's
a giant toaster. If this doesn't work right, yeah, right, terrifying.
Speaker 4 (02:11):
They said that's one of the main things that could
go wrong.
Speaker 5 (02:13):
If the heat shield fails, or if they have some
sort of a storm that whips up. They can't land
if the waves in the water are more than like
six feet tall.
Speaker 1 (02:22):
But the forecast is very good for this. And I
also saw that same astronaut. He said, they're very very
confident in the heat shold.
Speaker 5 (02:28):
Yeah, and the dolphins have already rsvped to greet them
when they land when they splash down.
Speaker 1 (02:33):
It's weird to think, like their window to re enter
the atmosphere, they said last night, there is no room
for air. Like, if you miss that, you bounce off,
you're done, You're gone. I don't understand bouncing.
Speaker 4 (02:45):
Off of bounce off wet back into orbit.
Speaker 1 (02:47):
Yeah, you just bounce off and that's your one shot
to get back.
Speaker 3 (02:50):
They don't have enough resources to try it again exactly.
Speaker 5 (02:53):
Oh, it just became even more exciting. Seven O seven
eight O seven Eastern seven oh.
Speaker 1 (03:01):
Seven in Austin. Yes, so if you want to catch that,
I had imagine every network on television is gonna be
carrying it.
Speaker 6 (03:07):
Right.
Speaker 1 (03:08):
If not, you can find it online. But I'm gonna
get my popcorn and yeah, I'm gonna watch this.
Speaker 4 (03:12):
I'm get in bed with me. Let's watch it.
Speaker 1 (03:15):
I'll watch it my room. Come on, I'm coming up
with JV and Sandy. All right, stick around because we're
gonna talk to our buddy Stephen Presley from at thunder
Pop TV. There was a film that debuted at south
By Southwest in Austin that has the Bigfoot world shook?
Why stick around to find out ninety eight one cave.
(03:35):
It's the JB and Sandy Show. Our friend Steven Presley
go follow him on social media at thunder Pop TV.
He joins us every Wednesday and Friday to talk Hollywood,
to talk movies, and in this case talk a little Bigfoot. Heck, yeah, yeah,
Tricia is a Bigfoot believer.
Speaker 3 (03:51):
I'm a believer.
Speaker 4 (03:52):
I'm a fan.
Speaker 1 (03:53):
It's absolutely because he is real. There was a documentary,
you said, at south By Southwest that has shooken, has shooking?
Were shook and shook, Shock shook. The Bigfoot communities tell
us about it. Yeah.
Speaker 7 (04:04):
Just last month, south By Southwest, this Bigfoot documentary Capturing
the Film Capturing Bigfoot revisits another Bigfoot film which was
considered the og Bigfoot film, uh, the Patterson Gimlin Bigfoot film.
And that film is supposed to be the film that
really made the Bigfoot community have something to believe in
(04:28):
because it had supposed footage of actual Bigfoot in it,
and this was from decades ago. But this new documentary
came out and it has people on there confessing now
that that film was faked, and they even have some
raw footage of people in cost costume pretending to be
Bigfoot in this documentary, the supposed documentary from years ago.
Speaker 4 (04:50):
I don't I don't need that at all.
Speaker 3 (04:52):
Steve did on his on his deathbed share that he
was putting footprints al Bigfoot.
Speaker 1 (04:59):
Yeah that was the thing. I'm gonna do the same
thing when I die. I'm gonna tell her, but it
was me.
Speaker 4 (05:04):
See a bunch of liars, is what it is.
Speaker 1 (05:09):
The Bigfoot community. Trisha is one of them.
Speaker 5 (05:11):
The Bigfoot community and the Lockness monster community. We are
really having our days right now. There's all kinds of stuff.
NASA's getting involved to help them find Nassi in the
bottom of the lock. They've been asked to get involved.
They haven't gotten back to us yet. They're a little
busy with the moon thing.
Speaker 4 (05:26):
Right now.
Speaker 5 (05:28):
What was the story we had about a man who
was going up into some Bigfoot territory and he called
ahead of the sheriff's office to find out what kind
of buckshot they recommended the bigfoot if you needed a license,
You need a license.
Speaker 1 (05:44):
Probably still out there looking for him.
Speaker 4 (05:47):
Ratings tightened.
Speaker 5 (05:48):
Seeker of all time Bigfoot is you've never been found.
Speaker 1 (05:52):
You draw the line at flat earth right, Oh.
Speaker 4 (05:54):
Yeah, I'm not a flat earther. Come on, two different things.
Speaker 1 (05:58):
She's all mine, guys who married to or bigfooter. She
wants one of those bigfoot yard art, those big seven
foot things that you buy here what I'm talking about
the stone.
Speaker 5 (06:09):
Yes, I saw one yesterday on six twenty at the
light at Anderson Mill Road. You know they have the
little the little yard art place right there. Yeah, seven
foot tall one right outside.
Speaker 3 (06:20):
Perfect. You can get that home.
Speaker 1 (06:24):
If you're a big Foot believer. You got a big truck,
saying Steven thanks. Follow him on on socials at thunder
Pop TV. We'll talk to you on Wednesday. Okay, alright.
You know it's it's unusual to hear from coach Brown,
but when it's not football season, and heck, coach Brown
isn't even the coach at UT anymore. But he's on
(06:46):
the phone. I may want to talk about the big
baseball series this weekend in college station. And I don't
know what's going on, but every time, every time coach calls,
JB has ducked out to go to the bathroom or
get a cup of coffee or something. So it's just weird.
You missed You missed JB again, Coach? Sorry about that.
Speaker 3 (07:03):
Oh man, I don't know what it is with that
goofy kid. Probably going to get as inhaler.
Speaker 1 (07:10):
You might be right, Uh, coach, are you calling in
to talk about the Longhorn Aggie baseball series?
Speaker 3 (07:16):
No, call me talk baseball.
Speaker 1 (07:20):
No, it's big series. I mean tonight it's seven and
then one o'clock tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (07:24):
No, no, no, you know I'm calling. I'm calling because
I am so excited about the kite fest weekend. I
love love a kite fest.
Speaker 1 (07:36):
Sally Sally loves Oh, we love it, we love it.
We'll be there, we'll be there.
Speaker 3 (07:43):
I paid to reserve one of those square areas. It's
it's my favorite thing. It's my favorite thing the whole year.
Speaker 1 (07:51):
Does that take you back to your childhood in North
Carolina and Liona Kite or.
Speaker 3 (07:56):
North Carolina birthplace of aviation in my crown?
Speaker 4 (08:00):
Yeah, so I love I love a kite.
Speaker 3 (08:04):
Do you know much about kite being a kite enthusiast.
Speaker 1 (08:07):
One coach, I've never met a kite enthusiast. To me,
kite's a kite. You tie a string to it, your
friend runs and then let's go.
Speaker 6 (08:14):
No no no, no, oh no no no no, yes,
you just oh, you you were over general generalizing your
That's like saying every football player on the field is
just a basically does the same thing.
Speaker 3 (08:27):
They're all specialists, you understand. It's it's specialists, just like
every player on the field. You've got all kinds of kites.
You got the diamond kite, which is a classic one.
That's probably you made one of those as a kid
in elementary. I got the you got the delta kite,
(08:48):
which has wide wings, looks more like a hang glider.
Box kites which are become three dimensional, which are my
personal favorite, the sled kite. I don't know if you've
seen one of those parafoil kites. I mean there's all kinds,
dual lined stunt kites, quadline kites, power traction kites, kite
warning kites, foil stunt kites, you name it. Then you
(09:10):
go to don't even get me started on Japanese kite.
Do you think we're serious about it here?
Speaker 1 (09:16):
Oh my gosh, if you ever, if you.
Speaker 3 (09:19):
Ever designed, built and flown rokaku kite, no coach it's
these are the hexagon shapes. Ones in the Japanese use
them in kite battles. I love a good kite battles,
you know.
Speaker 1 (09:34):
That was the thing I did not.
Speaker 3 (09:36):
But some sneaky competitors will use razor wire.
Speaker 5 (09:40):
Oh that sounds illegal, highly highly illegal.
Speaker 3 (09:44):
But they do make fighter kites, dragon kites, eddie kites,
cellular kites.
Speaker 1 (09:50):
I mean you got them.
Speaker 3 (09:51):
I mean, then there's the clactic you've seen it.
Speaker 1 (09:54):
Coach it's a ka coach. Stop, it's a kite. It
flies around on a string just using wind. I tell
you what, I'll.
Speaker 3 (10:03):
Tell you what the newest trending kite is do you
do you? Are you your kids into those plushy things?
Speaker 1 (10:10):
Yeah? Yeah, those soft.
Speaker 3 (10:12):
Those soft stuffed animals. They make plushy looking kites. Again,
that's the that's the Japanese they do.
Speaker 4 (10:18):
Coach, which win are you flying? Coach?
Speaker 3 (10:22):
I'll be flying a box killer, a killer box kite
who a killer for the competitions.
Speaker 1 (10:28):
But I'm I'm more of a coach, more of a.
Speaker 3 (10:32):
Box just a classic box kite person.
Speaker 1 (10:34):
Well, we'll see at Zilker this weekend. Rain if it
doesn't get ringed out.
Speaker 3 (10:37):
Okay, come by, say hi, but stay out of my way.

Weekend Guide coming up next on Austin's All Time Country
Favorites ninety eight one cavet. Austin's All Time Country Favorites
ninety eight one cavet. Good morning, It's the JB and
Sandy Shop. You know you can call us anytime. Eight
hundred and three nine zero Cavett is the number. A
(12:33):
lot of stuff going on this weekend, get the big
stuff right, get Gary Allen Tonight the around Rock Amp,
We're gonna be there, come out, say hi. Weather permitting.
And then of course Saturday you've got another George Strait show.
But there's some other stuff happening too. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (12:45):
Rock the Park in Miller Park in the Miller Development.
I don't know who's playing that. They didn't list it,
but that's you know, that's a very young family community. Yeah,
go spread out a long weather permitting all of this.
A lot of this is continued on the weather for
this weekend and of course tomorrow the ABC Kite Fest.
Keep in mind if this does have to reschedule because
(13:07):
of weather. That event is often rescheduled because of weather.
It's very weather contingent. Another thing that's happening tomorrow that
I would love to see. It's very red bull ish
and it's it's been going on for like six years
unbeknownst to me. It's called Through the Shoot. This is
in New bron FLEs. There's kind of near where the
(13:29):
Camal almost connects to the Guadaloupe. There's a little like
you know, waterfall shoot. Yeah, and they do an annual
contest where it's handmade boats. So it's kind of like
you know fluke dog where you make your own and
try to fly as far as you can. You make
a cardboard boat basically inductor and float through the shoot
(13:53):
and see you can find it looks sounds really fun.
Speaker 1 (13:55):
Maybe if you're in that little homemade boat, it'll keep
you from losing your bottoms when you go through the year.
A lot of people lose them.
Speaker 3 (14:02):
That's in a short window. It's from like ten to
one or something like that. But it just sounded really
really fun. Of course, the captain k on Sunday it
will happen if it's raining, but if there's lightning. They're
gonna have to make a tough decision at the start time.
And then also this started just a couple of days
ago you may not have known. And now it's almost
(14:22):
like two weekends, long weekends. Moontower Comedy Fest is going on.
So yeah, big big name comics all over town. Most
of it takes like the centers, the Paramount and the
State Theater, but it happens in a lot of places
around there. Not uncommon for a lot of those big
name comics to be seen at the bar above the Driscoll.
(14:45):
The little hints you're.
Speaker 1 (14:47):
Above the Driscoll, not in the Driscoll Hotel.
Speaker 3 (14:50):
Well, there's the Driscoll Hotel bar where the piano above
the restaurant.
Speaker 1 (14:56):
Oh okay, they're not the one with the piano.
Speaker 3 (14:58):
Yes, yes, there's the big main one that's the traditional one,
but there's another one that's on like the second level.
It has a balcony that goes out. That's where the
comics hang out.
Speaker 1 (15:09):
I'm sure they appreciate you letting me everybody. That's what's
happening this weekend. It's Austin's All Time Country Favorites ninety
eight one caveat Austin's All time country Favorites ninety eight
one kvat.
Speaker 3 (15:22):
You know, it's very interesting. First of all, everyone listening,
thanks for tuning in. We appreciate you listening to us
on our new home here at ninety eight one cavet.
Speaker 1 (15:30):
We love it.
Speaker 3 (15:31):
But we were on the radio for a long time,
starting back at ninety six, and I've known each other
since before that. I've known you a long time And
just a little inside thing with the listener. In the
last decade, you've done some major personal growth in your life.
Speaker 1 (15:48):
Absolutely, I quit. I got sober ten years ago, right, Yeah,
and a lot.
Speaker 3 (15:51):
Of personal growth taken fitness more seriously, you're a cold plunge.
Speaker 1 (15:56):
Guy for God's sake.
Speaker 3 (15:58):
Yes, and just I just see so many differences in
your personality is still the same, but there's just a
lot of a lot of more focus.
Speaker 1 (16:07):
Yes.
Speaker 3 (16:07):
That being said, one thing about you is not changed
at all.
Speaker 1 (16:12):
I know what it is.
Speaker 4 (16:14):
You would lose everything, yeah, everything.
Speaker 1 (16:18):
Yeah, I've been on a tear lately this week alone.
Speaker 3 (16:21):
That's something I used to do a lot, and I
really worked at always putting things in the proper place
because my wife is very organized and things go where
they go. And I've learned some of that and it
makes life a lot easier. I mean every time you're
just digging in your bag all the time, all the.
Speaker 1 (16:40):
Time, I can't find anything. Just this week, I have
lost a little there's these little foam things that we
put over microphones. They're called windscreens. Lost that first day
I had it, I lost my access card into the
radio station.
Speaker 5 (16:54):
And now you have mine and JB's and I'm worried
you're going to lose that tune. We're gonna have to
do the show from the park.
Speaker 3 (16:58):
And I showed you this great little camera mount that
sticks to glass that I got. You got one, and
then you lost it like the second day.
Speaker 1 (17:06):
Yeah, that's gone. The topper of all of this, I
don't know how I did it. I have a giant
yetty water bottle, big one, huge, big, big, big, like
the half gallon. Yeah yeah, yeah, lost it gone? Oh
those aren't cheapa. No idea where it is, no clue
how do you lose that?
Speaker 3 (17:24):
Right?
Speaker 1 (17:24):
I mean it's huge. I have no idea what I've
done with it. I set things down and I walk away.
I get to get distracted. It's embarre. It sucks.
Speaker 4 (17:32):
I feel like it's exhausting in your head.
Speaker 1 (17:34):
It is, it's I mean, that's why I don't like
Easter egg hunts. All right, we got to get out
of here. Angie's in next, but first tress to share
some of the things we learned.
Speaker 5 (17:45):
Yep, we learned about Bigfoot documentary that's coming out that's
blowing up the Bigfoot world. The people who believe, like
myself that apparently somebody's implying Bookcoosts not real. Yeah, come
on now, I don't believe that. Another thing we did
was we gave out some ju ju today.
Speaker 1 (18:00):
Yeah, we did. We passed it out to people that
needed just a little extra good luck.
Speaker 4 (18:03):
Yeah, that's one of my favorite things that we do,
you guys.
Speaker 5 (18:07):
We also talked about the Artemis splashdown that's happening tonight
eight o seven pm Eastern time.
Speaker 1 (18:12):
Just say in the local time seven seven oh seven.
Speaker 4 (18:15):
NASA says, Eastern time.
Speaker 1 (18:17):
They say that because they're telling the whole country. We're
telling Austin and happens at seven oh seven.
Speaker 4 (18:21):
That's a huge name of mine.
Speaker 1 (18:23):
Don't be like NASA, be like Tricia.
Speaker 4 (18:24):
I like being like NASA sometimes.
Speaker 5 (18:27):
Don't again through the atmosphere at twenty five thousand miles
an hour, at what time at eight O seven Eastern
slash seven O seven pm.
Speaker 1 (18:37):
None of our listeners live in the Eastern time.
Speaker 4 (18:38):
Zhime, you say you let me be my story high
like to do it.
Speaker 1 (18:41):
Have a great rest of the day, everyone, have a
great week, and it'll see you Monday. Bye bye
