Speaker 3 (00:19):
It's interesting you said, I'm motivated at this time by
the suggestion.

That's what I do. But I struggle with what to
write about. That's why I come to you, JB.

Speaker 4 (00:41):
Gotcha? Gotcha? Well, I tend to pick the obvious, but
I try to.

Speaker 3 (00:45):
You know, what's top of mind, and what's top of
mind with everyone right now is Mother's Day weekend and
our moms.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
You're right, Oh, are you suggesting ode to Mom?

Speaker 4 (00:56):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (00:57):
Oh I can do some stuff with that. Yeah, absolutely,
all right. I'll get to writing, and right after this song,
I will perform, which is the true talent, the ode
to Mom. Coming up next, it's JB and Sandy. It's

Speaker 4 (02:09):
He makes us sit on the floor cross legged.

Speaker 5 (02:13):
It's weird.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
Old to mom, Bye, Sandymac. Where are my shoes? A
child will cry, they're on your stinking feet. Please just
try Mom, what's for dinner? Asked nine times a day

(02:38):
as she stares in the fridge in a confused philosophical way.

Speaker 3 (02:45):
This starts rattling off ten things you can eat every time.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
We got to fish, dicks, you got to putty.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
She smiles through the chaos with murder in her eyes,
whispering sweet threats like so help me, I swear under
her size.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
An old dad.

Speaker 1 (03:08):
He offers deep wisdom like you should just relax, then
vanishes faster than her dwindling patients and snacks.

Speaker 4 (03:22):
There's a lot of mom fear in this podcast.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
You didn't know my mom very well. So Jamie and
Sandy showed ninety eight one kvet your all time country
Favorites again, chance to win a thousand bucks coming up
at nine. Be listening to win ninety eight one cavet
your all time country Favorites with JB and Sandy along
with Tricia, and we asked you guys to check in
with us on Facebook and tell us where you're listening

(03:48):
from and how you are listening. So I thought we
would give I think I believe the kids call him
shout outs. What we're gonna do? Okay, Actually, shout outs
been around for a long time. It's probably about to
change again. Shout out to Curtis Lewis longtime listener, go
Navy Curtis. He's a former Navy diver. Great guy listening
on the radio, then shifts over to the iHeart app

(04:10):
when he gets into his lab. Sounds like he's smart
doing his work.

Speaker 2 (04:14):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (04:16):
Natalie listens on both the radio and the app. Have
to switch from radio to the iHeart app when I
drive out of range, usually around Shiner.

Speaker 2 (04:25):
Oh that's what's up shining about ninety miles away or
so I know?

Speaker 4 (04:28):
Yeah, because there used to be the ride to Shiner.

Speaker 2 (04:30):
Yeah, I remember that.

Speaker 5 (04:31):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (04:32):
Our longtime listener Tamanu Jones. She listens from Foreigny, Texas
on her phone using the iHeart app.

Speaker 5 (04:39):
She says, love y'all.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
Cool.

Speaker 1 (04:40):
Joe Anne Sanchez listening to South Austin and she says,
love laughing with you all every morning. It makes my day,
my daughter says, on the way to school again Mom
with sandy station. Okay, we appreciate it, guys. Any other
messages you Oh that one from Steven there.

Speaker 3 (04:59):
Stephen are a Gerry own Stephen Presley, who you might
have heard earlier this morning. He and I love this
because I didn't know he lived in this neighborhood. He said,
listen in Austin and Crestview neighborhood on the iHeart app. Typically,
I love that neighborhood. It's just one of my favorites
in this whole city.

Speaker 6 (05:17):
Yeah, and we can't forget Raccoon Jenny, She wrote in
she listens to. She listens from both the app and
the radio. She says, love you guys, from me and
all the other critters, especially Walter.

Speaker 1 (05:28):

message on the iHeartRadio app. Just tap the talkback microphone.
We'd love to hear from you. It's ninety eight one
Cavet with JB and Sandy along with Trisha. Good morning

(05:50):
ninety eight one Cavet your all time country favorites. Hey,
do us so solid and make us the number one
preset on the iHeart Radio app and leave us a
message on the talkback feature. It's kind of funny sometimes
we just bring stuff up and we're kind of going
you call it just kind of a drive by type
of thing, but it catches on with people. Remember when
we were asking you guys to tell us about your

(06:11):
first car.

Speaker 4 (06:12):
What came up?

Speaker 3 (06:13):
Because your daughter's about to drive, and the pressure on
teens they had drive such nice cars, and we all
drove junk.

Speaker 1 (06:20):
Right, and we got any of these talkbacks just keep
coming in. And here here's another one that's pretty fid
you guys. Yeah, the first car ever. Remember I had
a nineteen seventy five Ford Ltd Ladoo giant boat with
like a four fifty five hundred engine in it had
a giant gash in the passenger side door. But that

(06:42):
thing I could fit about twenty three of my closest friends.

Speaker 2 (06:45):
And that cruising in that land yacht. That's what we
have back then with land yachts.

Speaker 1 (06:51):
And I know that voice, that's that that's my buddy Joe,
Joe Natas, who I played rugby with at the Hunt.
You know Joe, he's six foot nine.

Speaker 4 (06:59):
Sounds like he's six foot nine.

Speaker 5 (07:01):
I got a sexy voice, Janina, don't get he don't
feed his ego.

Speaker 1 (07:05):
Right now, here is another talkback that we got about
your first car.

Speaker 2 (07:10):
This is pretty funny.

Speaker 7 (07:10):
Name is Darryl. First car I owned was a sixty
five Mercury commuter station wagon. I paid one hundred dollars
cash for driving it out to bark from where my
dad worked to show it to him, and the hood
flew up and cracked the windshield.

Speaker 2 (07:24):
I did that, took out some reflectors.

Speaker 7 (07:26):
When I pulled off the road still going about fifty
prove it back to the car lot, and the guy
gave me my money back.

Speaker 5 (07:35):
Hund bucks.

Speaker 7 (07:38):
Right.

Speaker 5 (07:38):
I liked it.

Speaker 2 (07:39):
I like, you know what I like.

Speaker 1 (07:40):
He didn't finance the hundred right, he went in.

Speaker 4 (07:45):
God, when I was laughing, how he said, we all
drove lan yachts.

Speaker 3 (07:48):
I had a big nineteen sixty Mercury comment with big
wings on the back yep, and I paid one hundred
and thirty five bucks for it cash.

Speaker 2 (07:55):
You didn't find good good.

Speaker 3 (07:58):
Although I did finance my next car that I paid
nine hundred four And funny thing. My buddy in high school,
his mom had just shut down a longtime family optical store,
so they had all these vintage sunglasses that are probably
worth a fortune now from the sixties.

Speaker 4 (08:14):
We'd line them on the dash and we call them
guest shades.

Speaker 3 (08:18):
Going to lunch with all the kids and then my
other comment trick They didn't have power steering back then,
and because it was nineteen sixty and.

Speaker 4 (08:28):
The steering wheel was so big, I could.

Speaker 3 (08:30):
Stick my head all the way through it and still
drive down the highway.

Speaker 1 (08:36):
Ninety eight one kvet your all time country favorites with
JB and Sandy.

Speaker 2 (08:40):
JB. Do you ever get the feeling like your wife
just can't be away from you, like just has to
be with you?

Speaker 7 (08:45):
Oh?

Speaker 5 (08:46):
My god.

Speaker 1 (08:48):
The reason I ask is because last night I was
going to dinner with a buddy of mine and I
was getting ready to walk out the door and christ
was on the phone with her friend Terry, and I said, Hey,
I'm leaving. I'm going to dinner with David, and she goes,
where are you guys going? I go Long Horn Steakhouse.
She goes, okay, see you later. I walk out. I'm
not out the door sixty seconds my phone rings. First

(09:11):
thing I say is, boy, you can't be away from me.
First they were out talking to me for a minute,
can you? And he goes no, But I wanted to
tell you. I was talking to Terry and when you
said that you were going to Long Horn Steakhouse, both
of us just all of a sudden want at steak too,
So we're going to be up there.

Speaker 4 (09:27):
That's the only place in Cedar Park you get to.

Speaker 1 (09:29):
Stay up right and then she goes, So we're going
to be up there too in just a little bit.

Speaker 6 (09:34):
Yeah, y'all might be gone before we get their shifts
to run a quick air and but just letting you know,
we're going to be eating at Longhorn as well, so
we've got them.

Speaker 4 (09:41):
Man some space.

Speaker 5 (09:44):
Well, I asked him, was how do you want to
play this? Do you let me back?

Speaker 6 (09:46):
Like?

Speaker 5 (09:46):
I don't know you? Do you want us to come
stay hi?

Speaker 2 (09:49):
And I was like, no, come over and say hi.
Otherwise it's just weird.

Speaker 3 (09:52):
But anyway, hey Doe, you act like you don't know
each other. A little quickie in the.

Speaker 1 (09:56):
Bathroom ninety eight one kvet make us the number one
pre set on your iHeartRadio app. Another Chance in a
thousand bucks coming up at ten o'clock. Angie's getting ready
to come in. But we wrap up the show every
day with some of the things we learned.

Speaker 6 (10:08):
We got Trisha all right, we learned and our does
that make Me crazy messages that one of our listeners
like to like to lick batteries.

Speaker 5 (10:15):
Yeah, here battery liquor.

Speaker 1 (10:17):
Here it is from let this message on talk back
Jan Sandy.

Speaker 8 (10:21):
I'm so happy you guys are back on air. But
my family thinks I have a problem because I like
to lick batteries like Dura cel Energizer, Lifeline Interstate because
it gives me this cool, little tingly little buzz.

Speaker 2 (10:36):
Am I crazy.

Speaker 6 (10:40):
I like it that he listed different brands, like maybe
they differently, they taste different correct. Another thing we learned
that Chipotle CEO apparently has had enough of people complaining
y'all's burritos are too small, y'all don't put enough in,
so he released a statement saying, just ask for more
when they're building your.

Speaker 5 (11:01):
Burrito, Like it's not hard. Stop complaining. Just ask you
to bit.

Speaker 2 (11:05):
More, give you more. We'll give you more.

Speaker 5 (11:06):
We'll give you more.

Speaker 2 (11:07):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (11:08):
I think that's I tried that at a wine bar.

Speaker 5 (11:10):
Does not well yet. I don't think it works everywhere.

Speaker 4 (11:12):
It doesn't work everywhere.

Speaker 6 (11:14):
No, And finally we found out that Austin is not
only the capital live music capital of the world.

Speaker 5 (11:20):
Now they want to be the capital of something else.

Speaker 3 (11:24):
Paddle boarding, paddle Palooza is tomorrow at lou Nef Park
on Ladybird Lake. If you don't know where that is,
that's where Barton Springs bills into.

Speaker 4 (11:36):
They're going for some kind of They.

Speaker 3 (11:38):
Want to be the paddle board Austin wants to be
the paddle board capital of the world.

Speaker 4 (11:41):
If you didn't know.

Speaker 1 (11:42):
Such mighty goals, why don't we work on a better
logo before we worry about that. Have a great day everyone.
Angie's in next with your chance to win one thousand
