Here's what's happening. Authorities are searching for answers after two
National Guards are critically wounded in DC. CBS's Michael George
as the latest.

The ambush style attack on the two National Guard members,
both from West Virginia, happened shortly after two pm, just
blocks away from the White House, outside of a metro
train station.

A suspect came around the corner, raised his arm with
a firearm and discharge at the National Guard.

Members, multiple sources tell CBS News. A third, uninjured National
Guard member shot back at the gunman, hitting him and
ending the attack.

The suspect has been identified as an Afghan national who
entered the US in twenty twenty one and was granted
asylum earlier this year under the Trump administration. Governor Mora
Heally has issued a statement on the shooting, calling it
senseless violence. She says her heart goes out to the
families and loved ones of the National guardsmen, adding that

they are in my thoughts today and every day and
have the full support of our entire state. The Macy's
Thanksgiving Day Parade is underway in New York City with
a wide array of balloons, floats, and performers making their
way down the Big Apple Streets. And when the parade
is over, you can watch some of the best dogs

in the country compete in the twenty twenty five National
Dog Show. The purebred competition recognizes two hundred and fourteen
dog breeds split into seven groups. This year, over nineteen
hundred dogs will be competing, with the winner being named
Best in Show and a two thousand dollars prize. The

show is set to air on NBC and Peacock beginning
at now and as you cook your Thanksgiving dinner, keep
this in mind. The FDA is expanding its warning about
aluminum and brass cookware that may contain lead.

The list now includes nineteen types of cookware the test
found can leach lead into food. They include the brand
name Sonics, ikm Craftwears, Lotus Mom, Silver Horse, Chef, Milk, Dolphin,
and Royal Kitchen. All of the suspect cookwear is made
outside the US, mostly in India. They were sold by
retailers in California, Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, and Washington,

Authorities have arrested a suspect in connection to a deadly
shooting and Fall River over the weekend. Prosecutors say thirty
two year old Kendrick Williams of Fall River was taken
into custody in Jacksonville, Florida, where he's currently being held
without bail. The forecast mostly he sunny for this Thanksgiving Day,

They're seeking to block new guidance from the Department of
Agriculture that limits program eligibility under the Big Beautiful Bill
for certain non citizen groups like refugees, asylum recipients, and
others allowed into the country under humanitarian protection programs.

I'm absolutely frustrated and angry that the Trump administration has
chosen again to play political games with our residents' lives,
because in many communities, this truly is about life and death.

The guidance also threatens to impose fines on states that
don't comply with the coalition, saying this guidance contradicts federal law.

A thirty three year old Brazilian woman who's been living
in the US since she was a child is detained
by Ice. Bruna Ferrera was picked up two weeks ago
after traveling from her home in Revere to pick up
her son in New Hampshire. Farrero shares custody of her
son with Michael Levitt, the brother of White House Press

Secretary Caroline Levitt. Arrera was initially taken to Vermont back
on November twelfth, before later being moved to a detention
center in Louisiana. The Department of Homeland Security claims Ferrera
has a prior arrest record for battery and overstayed a
tourist visa. Dozens of people are dead in Hong Kong

after several apartment buildings go up in flames. ABC's Nicole
D'Antonio has the latest.

The flames quickly spread between seven different apartment buildings, spreading
across the bamboo scaffolding and the green construction netting that
covers those buildings.

The calls of this fire remains unknown this morning, but
official say it started on the scaffolding residence. It was
common to find cigarette butts near the windows left behind
by some of the construction workers there. Hong Kong is
one of the last places in the world where bamboo
is still widely used for construction.

The death toll stands at seventy five, the MBTA issuing
a Connecticut man who crashed into a Green Line trolley
with the is Maserati three years ago. Larry Levittz of
Connecticut was driving on com AV when he took a
wrong turn and ran into a B Branch trolley, shutting
down service between Kenmore Square and Packard's Corner for nearly

two hours. The lawsuit, filed on Monday, says the collision
caused damages to the train, car and track equipment in
the area. No one was injured in the crash. You
