and clouds in Boston. Happy Friday, and thanks for being
with us. He's July tenth. I'm Sherry Small. Here's what's
happening in news. Boats sailing into Boston Harbor are not
your ordinary vessels. Our WBC's James Rojas has more.

The Dennis Sullivan of Milwaukee and the Pride of Baltimore
Too of Baltimore are nestled right next to each other
here at the Mogley Courthouse Dock in the four point Channel.
They are just two of many tall ships that will
be turning heads this week, specifically up It's pretty exciting.

Speaker 3 (00:44):
I'll be able to see it from my office, so,
you know, not excited about the crowds, but excited about
the ships for sure, assuming that's gonna be a lot
of long lines, because I can already see them setting
up in front of our buildings, so they're just expecting.
I think a really big showing sophine can get on
the boat. That would be great on the ship, but
it's also nicer just to look at them and admire
them from Afar as well.

President Trump says he will not sign the housing affordability
bill that is due to become law tonight. ABC Stephen
Portnoy with the latest.

Speaker 4 (01:23):
The twenty first Century Road to Housing Act would exempt
certain projects from environmental reviews, expand financing for affordable housing,
and restrict large institutional investors from owning more than three
hundred and fifty single family homes. It passed in both
Houses with scant opposition, but President Trump says he won't
sign it quote in protest of the Senate's refusal to
pass the voter id and citizenship requirements of the Save

America Act. If he doesn't veto the bill by midnight,
it will become law without his signature. That sort of
thing hasn't happened in nearly a decade.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
And if the President wants to stop the bill from
becoming law, he would have to outright veto it, which
he has not said that he would do. We're learning
more about the cyclist killed yesterday in Boston. The woman
was very well known in Boston cycling and transportation communities.

Speaker 5 (02:09):
Luisa gag, a thirty six year old transportation planner at
Boston City Hall, was fatally struck by a truck while
riding her bike on Tremont Street near Roxbury Crossing. Gag
spender careered to make Boston streets safer for cyclists. She
was a key architect of the city's Blue Bikes expansion
and a longtime advocate for Vision Zero, Boston's commitment to
eliminating traffic fatalities. Boston Mary michell Wu called her a

bright light and said she was absolutely devastated by the news.
Safe County DA's offices investigating and cycling advocates or calling
on the city to fast track street safety improvements immediately.

Passengers recovering after they were allegedly assaulted by their ride
share driver early this morning at Logan Airport. Now Police
say that passenger rushed into Terminal Sea for help after
the attack shortly before five point thirty this morning. They
were taken to the hospital and are expected to be okay.
The rights heer driver left the airport and state police
are now looking for them now. The four dawbz Achu

weather forecast mix of sun and clouds today, a thunderstorm
in parts, highs eighty six to ninety, though tempts will
start to fall later this afternoon near the coast, and
then a lingering evening shower toward the south coast capein islands.
Otherwise just cloudy for the rest of US. Low's near
seventy in Boston for those inland suburbs low sixties, and

then Saturday and Sunday highs of seventy eight near the
coast to eighty four for the inland areas. Back up
to a high of eighty six in Boston as we
head back to work on Monday. With the mix of
sun and clouds right now, mostly sunny, a couple of
clouds out. We've warmed up to eighty six in Boston.

A mosquito sample from Boston test positive for West Nile
virus found in Jamaica plane. It's the first mosquito test
from the city to test positive for the virus this summer.
It can be West Nile, that is, can be transmitted
to humans through infected mosquitoes. Right now, there are no
human cases reported in the state so far this season,
and the risk for transmission is low. On the heels

of two days of strikes against Iran, the US and
Iran reportedly continued to engage in negotiations. Meanwhile, the protests
rage in Iran with a threatening message for President Trump.

On the final day of a six day funeral for
former Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatola Hahmeni, who was killed in
a joint US Israeli airstrike at the start of the war,
massive crowds of mourners filled the streets, some chanting threads
against the president while carrying banners reading we will kill Trump.
The Wall Street Journal reporting Israel recently shared intelligence with
