It's eleven o'clock in Boston right now. It is mostly
cloudy where it's seventy one degrees. Good morning, I'm Nicole Davis.
Here is what's happening, President Trump telling reporters last hour
at the White House he personally asked the president of
FIFA to review the red card against top US striker
for Lauren Balligan. The President, though insisting he did not

demand they lift the one game suspension against him. Wbz's
Jeremy Russ reports Belgium is not happy with how this
is playing out.

Belgium is appealed FIFA's decision to suspend the ban against
the US is for Luren Balligan. Belgium had until eight
o'clock this morning to do it. Balgan was handed a
red card and suspended one game in the last round
of the tournament, but FIFA decided to delay his suspension
after outcry from US soccer team lawyers and reportedly President
Trump himself. Belgium said delaying the suspension contradict of the

tournament's rules. The US and Belgium are playing in a
round of sixteen match at eight o'clock tonight. That match
will decide who moves on to the quarter finals Jeremy

Later on tonight, the President's off to Turkey for a
NATO summit, during which he'll face many European allies. A
new wave of aggression from Russia in Ukraine overnight could
inspire some critical discussions.

Those Russian strikes have killed more than a dozen people
in Kiev, this deadly attack coming right before that high
stakes NATO summit in Turkey, where President Trump will be
meeting with Ukraine's President Zelenski's got attack also coming right
after President Trump spoke to Vladimir Putin on July fourth
for ninety minutes and as our European allies fear that
President Trump could force an end to this war that

favors Russia.

Now it's ABC Selina Wang at the White House, and
ABC's Marcus Moore has more on that call.

President Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin spoke for almost
an hour and a half, according to readouts of the meeting.
Certainly their discussions touched on the war in Ukraine. Since
starting his second term, President Trump has been working hard
to convince the two sides to agree to a deal,
but no permanent ceasefire has been reached, the warring sides
continue with expansive strikes. Ukraine has managed to successfully hit

At eleven oh two, former Fall River mayor Jasel Correa
is now set to be released from prison this coming weekend.
According to the Fall River Herald News, he has spent
four years behind bars on fraud and corruption charges, who
is sentenced to six years, but he's only serving just
over four due to good behavior. After he is released
from federal prison in Kentucky on Saturday the eleventh, he

is then set to serve three years of probation. And
looking ahead to the forecast for the rest of the
day and into tonight and even to tomorrow, we've got
a lot of heavy, steady rain on the way, rain
that we do need, but just not all of this
at once, because some parts of the area south of
Boston could be getting about five, maybe six inches of rain,
even seven or so before all this is making its

way out. The models differ at this point for still
just getting into this, but it's going to be one
of those situations where we do have a floodwatch south

It is raining in New Bedford right now at sixty

at Logan Airport we're at seventy degrees. Speaking of Logan Airport,

a full ground stopped there last night affecting hundreds of
flights the airport dealing with a major fuel system issue.

Travelers like Penny from Wilmington were nervous after hearing the
faa ISH shoot a full groundstop at Logan after a
fueling system issue caused dozens of flights to be canceled
and one hundreds more delayed.

Because I got that you notification at like ten o'clock,
but then this morning I checked in it said it.
They lifted it at midnight, so we have a six
am flight, so we're.

Good to go. She is good to go, but not
everyone is so fortunate, like Samuel from DC whose flight
was canceled. He'll instead be leaving Tuesday morning.

So back today, hotel this one. Meanwhile, fuel operations are

The fallout remains about one hundred and fifteen flights so
far delayed at Logan, sixty seven so far canceled on
the board. Keep that in mind if you're heading in
and in New Hampshire. A pilot is on the mend
after a small plane crash right by Lake Sunapee yesterday.
As a plane went down in a wooded part of Newport,
please say an off duty police officers saw the crash
and helped firefighters in getting the pilot out. That person

was seriously hurt, but again is expected to recover. The
FAA is looking to what happened and in the Merrimack
Valley today, bus drivers and mechanics are still on strike.
The Teamsters employees at Merrimack Valley Transit went on the
picket line last week after their contract expired without a
new deal in place. Management wanted to up hourly wages
by twenty five percent over the next three years, but

the contract would have also ended so called open work
overtime for Saturday shifts. As a red line the workers
say they will not cross when it comes to a contract.
Eagle Tribune reports accounter proposal did go out on Friday
that did include an amended overtime proposal and a smaller
wage increase. The membership though voting that down and again
