Loggy and rainy in Boston right now. It is eleven
o'clock on this Tuesday morning. Thanks for joining us. I'm
Nicole Davis. Here is what's happening. Starting in Maine, Democratic
Senate candidate Graham Platner's losing support from Democrats around the
country quickly after a woman came forward to accuse him
of rape, which he denies. ABC's j O'Brian.

And Senate race.

It's critical to Democrats' hopes of taking back power in
that chamber, but their nominee, Graham Platner, is losing the
support of major allies after that new allegation of sexual assault.
Maine's Democratic Party is also calling on Platner to drop out.
The timing here is critical. If Platner does decide to
withdraw by July thirteenth, the state Democratic Party can legally

replace his name on the ballot any later, and they can't.

Among those calling for Platner to drop out as Governor
Morri Healey here in Massachusetts. In a statement, she says,
the people have Maine deserved the opportunity to vote for
somebody they can trust to tell the truth and fight
for their values. It's the end of the line now
for Team USA and the World Cup. Wbz's Kyle Brady
has more and they're devastating. Lost to Belgium last night
in the round of sixteen.

It was a comedy of errors from the start and
it ended up costing the US as they lost for
one to Belgium in the round of sixteen of the
World's Cup. Belgium took an early lead and then took
the lead again just over a minute after the US
scored an equalizer. A second half saw more costly blunders.

Speaker 4 (01:25):
It away, can't block it, John Strong on the call
for Fox as the US conceded a goal on an
open net after goalkeeper Matt Free scuffed his foot on
the grass and missed a clearance.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
Another defensive error led to the fourth goal. After the game,
midfielder Tyler Adams spoke with Fox and gave an honest
assessment of their performance.

That's locked out at Twisted. I think the better team
one today. I don't think our performance was great.

Overall that being said, I don't think we can take
away what we accomplished in the rest of the tournament.

Time, the Tartan Army is owing it's gratitude here in
Massachusetts with a brand new donation for students in need,
a Tartan Army donating fifteen thousand dollars to Massachusetts Child
It's a charity operated by the Massachusetts Teachers Association to
buy clothing, books, school supplies and more for kids in need.
The president of the MTA says, the Tartan Army showed

support one another, and celebrate together. Last month, the Scottish
soccer fans also donated more than three thousand dollars to
Spaulting rehab. Looking ahead to the forecast, we are going

One day workers strike at Brigham and Women's Hospital and
Mass General Brigham Home Care is set to get underway
tomorrow at seven am. The final bargaining sessions ended with
no contract. Mass General Brigham leadership says it has replacement
nurses on standby. Meantime, nurses at UMass Memorial Medical Center
and Wooster are one step closer to a strike themselves,

and now lawmakers are getting involved. Fourteen Worcester County legislators
and a rare bipartisan move are urging UMass Memorial Hell
to reach a new contract with nurses who voted overwhelmingly
last week to authorize a fourteen day strike or higher pay,
better staffing, and stronger protections against workplace violence. Jay will

Developing news oversees this morning and as British military says
three tankers have been struck today as they made their
way through the Straight of Horn moves. Iran has repeatedly

The administration is really framing this as a chance for
a rebranding of NATO in a sense, kind of this
NATO three point zero as they're calling it. They're really
trying to focus this summit on the idea that they
want European countries to play a bigger role in the

but we have responsibilities elsewhere in the world as the
world's only superpower.

but saying he's disappointed with a lack of support from
