and we highlight community stars here in the Quad Cities.
And I'm super excited to talk with community outreach representative
at do Track Community Credit Union, Sherry Keating. Sherry, welcome

Well, thank you for having me, Danny.

I think it's super exciting that you are helping out
with this now the first time around. This is the
diaper drive that's supporting families in need. And if you
can remember last year, last year was your first year
doing it, it must have been pretty successful.
Speaker 2 (00:42):
Actually, this will be our third year. Oh we're coming
up on our third year. Okay. Our first drive in
twenty twenty four yielded nearly thirty eight hundred diapers, and
so last year we thought, well, we'll double it. We're
going to set a goal of seventy five hundred diapers
for twenty and because of our wonderful communities, they came

out in droves and we exceeded expectations by collecting over
twelve thousand diapers last year.

That's amazing, Sherry, that's incredible. How giving is the Quad
Cities when you look at things like that, it's just wonderful.
Speaker 2 (01:21):
Absolutely, we do have a goal of collecting at least
fifteen thousand diapers this year.
Speaker 1 (01:28):
Well that's that's an incredible amount, which is why we
really are asking for so much help here in the
Quad Cities.

Now.

The good news is that people have some time because
you're doing it all the month of May.
Speaker 2 (01:41):
All the months of May, and we have a wonderful
collaboration with Heini Heroes of the Quad Cities. They are
a diaper bank and they've been doing their May Diaper
Drive for years and that's originally how dow Track got
started in doing a Mad Diaper drive is working with

them as a collection area. And because we have branches
spread out through the tri state area, we thought, well,
why not do this across all of our branches and
make a bigger impact. So what started in the Quad
Cities has now spread out through well all of our branches.
Speaker 1 (02:22):
Which takes you like into Wisconsin and farther right.
Speaker 2 (02:26):
It's yeah, we have I think our farthest north branch
is Decora right now. We're also in Grant County, Wisconsin,
so yes, we're in all three states.
Speaker 1 (02:38):
That is very cool that is very cool. So how
can people help you with that goal of fifteen thousand diapers?
Is it like packs of diapers or just diapers individually?
Speaker 2 (02:51):
Oh, packs of diapers. We you know here we are
just early May, and already we have so many hacks
and boxes of diapers and baby wipes dropped off, so
we're off to a very very good start. And it's
pretty easy. Anybody can drop off diapers at any do

track branch, So any do track branch just drop off
the diapers or wipes. We also take monetary donations or
we have a venmo account set up also, and you
can find out more information at our website do track

our do track number and our awesome receptionists will be
happy to direct you, guide you on and answering any
of your questions.

I love that, and Sherry, people do think you know
of families that are just getting started and all the
things that they need, and sometimes the typers you're sort
of like, oh, yeah, they got to have the diapers too.
They're so critically important. So it's really nice that do
trak has jumped in with tiny heroes and is helping

the families cover that cost.

We had some staggering numbers. About half of US family's
safe diaper insecurities, or one in two US families with
young children struggle to afford diapers, and nationally, twenty five
percent of parents with diaper needs reported that they have
missed an average of five days of work or school

in the past month due to not having enough diapers
to drop children off at childcare.
Speaker 1 (04:33):
That is Oh, that is staggering. That is staggering. So
I'm so glad you guys are doing this. So once again,
just let people know how they can help, because that's
the last thing we want is you know, kids get sick.
That's one thing to take off work. But the diaper issue, gosh,
we can help there.

Absolutely, and donations. I do want to let you know.
Donations collected at all the do Trak branch locations will
directly benefit local families through distribution partnerships with United Way
and Heini Heroes of the Quad Cities. Depending on where
where you're located, so all contributions will remain within the

communities where they are donated. Insurance support reaches families close
to home. For instance, we have a branch in Clinton
not far from the Quad Cities and those diapers donated
at the Clinton branch will be distributed to the Clinton
area through United Way.

I love that, so yeah, so yeah, all.

The diapers donated in the Quad City area will go
to Heiny Heroes and they have, Oh, they have such
a great resources to get the diapers to the families
and need.

Oh their outreach is amazing. They're they're doing amazing work.
I'm so glad you're partnering with them. They really, they really,
I hate to say they shine the Heine shine I
thought shining, but yeah, Sherri, thank you again for what
do Track is doing. So again, people can drop off

if they have wipes or diapers, anything that they can
drop off there at the do Track locations. Otherwise once
