Now, let's get to another top story recovering this morning
on Fox News. Yesterday, Florida Attorney General James Utmeyer announced
the state subpoena seeking documents from doctor Anthony Fauci over
his handling of the COVID pandemic.

Speaker 3 (00:20):
We issued a formal subpoena to doctor Fauci seeking a
breadth of documents arranging to what he knew when he
knew it, his doubts about the safety and efficacy of
vaccines that he's out there promoting. Evidence has come to
light that he was trying to personally profit off of this.
He's trying to pursue book deals, awards, get connected with

high rollers. It could go towards a deceptive trade practice, fraud,
public nuisance, you name it.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
So one line of inquiry has to do with an
award Fauci received in twenty twenty one that came with
a million dollar cash prize. In Auttmyer, he alluded to
that more during the inn.

Speaker 3 (01:00):
That's part of why we issue subpoenas. We need to
gather discovery and evidence. We want to seek accountability. A
lot of people were hurt and suffered, and we want
to find out at the end of the day, was
he pursuing profit or was he trying to protect the
people of Florida.

Speaker 2 (01:15):
So going back to that cash prize, it's become an
issue that's gotten a lot of attention. Fauci allegedly had
NIH staff help organize the whole thing, which led him
to win the million dollar prize. Ten percent went towards scholarships,
the other nine hundred thousand dollars went to him. Oh,

the whole thing apparently went through an ethics approval process
and staff got the okay to make the submission. But
let's be honest. Ain't a good luck, No, not at
all during a pandemic. But that he's out trying to
win a million bucks now, I think it'd be better

if it was it's like nine ten ninety percent going
to scholarships, ten percent going to him. Then you could say, okay,
but boy, it doesn't look great. But that doesn't mean
it's criminal. And I gotta be honest that I don't
think the state investigation is going to go anywhere, but
it's getting up Meyer, who's running for reelection headlines and

appearances on Fox News. So there's that. I would just
caution everyone who thinks that, you know, again Fauchi's gonna
end up in jail.

He's not.

He's not yet. It's Liketh Meyer's investigation of the week.
Every week he's investigating somebody else. Now, I also want
to note the Senate Homeland Security Committee. They're meeting this
morning in eight thirty to vote on holding Fauci in
contempt of Congress. You're going to hear a lot that
if he's found to be in contempt of Congress, he
could serve a year in jail and all of that.
There's gonna be a whole legal challenge to this. I

don't think they have a clear cut case, but we're
going to be monitoring that again starting at eight thirty.
Hopefully that vote will wrap up before we get off
the air, but you know, everybody likes to make speeches
on these committees and have their say, so it'll probably
drag on for a while.
